hi! I'm not sure if your taking requests or not, if your not please ignore this, but could you please write a self aware dazai, or any characters you'd like, learning that the reader has similar trauma as dazai, just some small aspects are different? thank you for your time!!
Hello! Hope, you like this. You are welcome.
When they learned, that you have similar trauma
Self-Aware! Dazai Osamu x GN!Reader
(Slight Self-aware! Oda Sakunosuke x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Warning: Yandere, OOC, BSD characters stalks Reader, slight spoilers for "Dazai Osamu and dark era", mentions of death, few years ago Reader wasn't in the best place in their lives, English is my second language.
🪢🦀 It happened after you installed BSD Mayoi app and BSD gang gain access to the rest of your phone.
🪢🦀 Now they can hear your talking not only when you are using their app, reading manga/Light Novel or watching anime. Now they can hear you in your everyday life.
🪢🦀 Of course, they are looking after you for your own good. When they finally get to your world, they need to know who they should punish for wronging you.
🪢🦀 This cashier, who was rude to you and tried to scam you? Fitzgerald will destroy him financially.
🪢🦀 The terrible entitled parents in the park, who try to take away your phone and give to their children? Fukuzawa and Yosano will make them apologies.
🪢🦀 Entitled brats that ruined your notebooks? Elise and Q will show them, that you shouldn't be messed up with.
🪢🦀 Creepy old man that made you uncomfortable? Hirotsu and Melville will taught him some respect.
🪢🦀 But, until they find a way to your world, they only can send you some messages to lift your spirit up.
🪢🦀 Ango recently add another menu called "Message for you" to the game that allows them to leave you messages without adding presents. It's not that they were stingy, no. It happened because Gift Box won't allow them to send long messages. Moreover, they can send only one message per day. So, a new menu allows them to send more messages to you.
🪢🦀 You, for the most part, seem to be a cheerful person.
🪢🦀 So, when one day BSD gang felt that you are grieving, they were worried.
🪢🦀 They wanted to help you. But, the only thing they can do is sent another message to you.
🪢🦀 Dazai asked to be the one, who sent the message.
___________________________________
A familiar notification from "Message for You" popped up before your eyes. You mindlessly open it. It was a message from Dazai.
"[Y/N], dear, I hope you are doing well. If you are not... Well, do you want to talk about it? Dazai Osamu"
Little chibi Dazai was standing under the message text, looking at you. You stay silent for a moment. Then you start talking.
"I guess I can talk about it. Yes, you can't hear me, but, at least, I will talk this out. Today is the anniversary of my dear friend's death."
And you talked.
You talked about what happened few years ago. About feeling out of place. About feeling empty. About trying to find anything that can make you feel whole. About uncertainty in the future. About pressure from your family. About you failing in classes.
You talked about meeting your friend. About them been the best person in your life. About them helping you more than anyone at that period of time. They just were there. They didn't force you to speak about your feelings. Not only that, but they didn't shame you about your grades.
They were your anchor. Because of them, you were able to feel better. Life became good again.
And then they died.
You were crying, you can't manage to tell, how exactly they died. But you manage to say, that your friend died in a hospital. And that they managed to tell you something important. That you are good enough, that you shouldn't try to prove your worth to others. That your happiness matters.
Through sobs, you managed to whisper:
"If you think about it, Dazai, we are kinda the same. Both of us were lost, both of us were saved by a kind person, you by Oda, I by my friend, and both of us lost them. Thanks for listening. But, I think, I will go now."
You closed the app.
You didn't notice that Dazai sprite has tears in his eyes.
_____________________________________
🪢🦀 For a moment, everyone was quiet. They were sad after learning about your past.
🪢🦀 Yosano, who already felt bad for hating you before, felt even worse.
🪢🦀 Some of the characters cried. They thought that it's unfair, that someone like you suffered through such traumatic experience.
🪢🦀 All characters were concerned about you. You didn't deserve to experience this pain. They will start working harder. They will reach your world.
🪢🦀 But Dazai has the strongest reaction.
🪢🦀 Dazai was paralyzed. He feels tears running down his cheeks. You two were the same. But, you did something, that Dazai can never do for you. You brought Oda back.
🪢🦀 Dazai looked at the Infirmary door. Oda was standing there, leaning on the wall. Oda also looked concerned and sad.
🪢🦀🍛 Few days ago, you got Oda's card from scout. And Oda, like Shibusawa a few months prior, appears in ADA's office. He was dizzy and lost, but, according to Yosano, he was fine mentally and physically and just needs some rest. Soon he will manage to walk around.
🪢🦀🍛 Dazai was ready to work 24/7 just to reach your world. Oda manage to stop Dazai, before he tried to threaten to shoot Ango, Katai and Fyodor if they didn't find a way to your world immediately.
🪢🦀 Dazai want to hold you in his arms. Dazai want to protect you. Dazai want to take your pain away. Dazai will do anything he can to be with you. You will be happy and safe. He will let you cry on his shoulder.
🍛 Oda want to console you. Oda want to be near you. He isn't planning to replace your friend, but he wants to become as important to you as them. When Oda recovers, he will do his best to help others with finding a way to you.
🪢🦀🍛 Both Oda and Dazai will send you encouraging messages. They will try to make you smile.
🪢🦀🍛 You may not see each other eye to eye, but you are important to them. And they want to keep you safe.

Bucchigiri?! Episode 12 Review + Final Thoughts - The Final Showdown Between The Genies
I’m not sure if Bucchigiri’s ending is either good or bad. It’s not bad because everything ends happily, but it’s not good because there are still a lot of unanswered questions despite the rather joyful ending.
Tumblr media
The battle between Ichiya and Senya was actually really good in terms of animation. I feel like MAPPA was going all out with the sakuga for the finale, but Ichiya’s reasons for wanting to fight Senya felt a little asinine. He contracted a disease and wanted Senya to kill him before it could kill him. Ichiya, why didn’t you say this before you died? Maybe you didn’t have to fight to the death for this; maybe Senya could’ve found a way to cure you? All this sudden lore about these genies feels shoehorned in because for a story that revolved around these two genies, so little is known about them. Even towards the end of the story, the stuff about the war, why they became genies and how their story and the Honki people legend becoming a thing in Arajin’s hometown never gets explored and I feel like it’s a waste; all of this could’ve been explored earlier, but no, we had to focus on the fighting and Arajin.
I can’t believe it took 12 episodes for Arajin to get an awesome fight sequence that doesn’t revolve around him punching someone really hard once. That’s crazy. While it’s nice that he finally wants to help Matakara, his word choices make it seem like he’s not doing it out of true concern and he’s just doing it because he had no other choice. The fact that what pulls him out of his funk towards the middle of the fight, the part where he thinks he’s dying, is the the power to lose his virginity with a chibi Mahoro fairy. That seems a little stupid because he did call out Matakara for projecting onto him, but not once has anyone called him out for doing the same thing with Mahoro. Also, his concern for Senya doesn’t seem too genuine to me as he did spent the entirety of the show not wanting him around and tolerating him at best and suddenly, he misses him. I feel like I’m side-eyeing the writers hard for this.
Tumblr media
I do wonder what the deal with the black shadow thing is because it did take over Ichiya, causing Matakara to be the sudden final boss of the story. While it is stated that it’s Matakara’s fears of being alone, it does feel like a cop out moment. Like, when could you do this? How is this possible? The fact that Ichiya seems to be okay after this ordeal to makes this thing feel like it’s not worth it in the end.
The side characters’ antics were interesting. Arajin’s mom was hilarious as always as she believes Arajin is sleeping over at a friend’s house and becoming a man; while the context of her words means intercourse, the actual meaning is different in the context of the current situation. The part with Mahoro trying to wake her brother up was funny because she chained Kenichiro to his hospital bed. Girl, was that necessary? The Zabu and Komao parts were sweet because they were looking for Matakara even though Zabu was injured and cannot move well, so Komao spent most of his time being his horse. The other Siguma Squad members felt like they were just there because they needed to be; by the way, Jabashiri’s first name is Nagare, so why is Hagure calling him Ryu-chan? The part with Arajin’s homeroom teacher stealing Jasmine was funny; we all knew Jasmine was a cat. It sucks that she essentially became a stray afterwards. Also, I called Mitsukuni being alive! I knew he was alive from the moment his dead body and funeral weren’t shown on-screen. Utsumi won’t kill off characters at all unless it’s Banana Fish. Look at Senya; he came back!
The little epilogue was cute, but a little irritating on Arajin’s part because he’s still simping over Mahoro who’s still not giving him a millisecond of her time. Good. The fact that he wanted to mimic Marito in hopes of winning her heart is also sort of weird because Mahoro would actually despise him if he did that. While Matakara didn’t get punishment for his actions, at least he, Zabu and Komao became friends again. The part where Minato Kai and Siguma go to the Tomoshibi restaurant and Arajin’s mom becomes a Marito fangirl was funny; the fact that Mahoro got jealous was even more hilarious; she officially hates the Tomoshibi family now.
Overall, I find the finale a bit flat? Like there were good stuff and Arajin did show some growth, but the epilogue sort of backtracks it with his thing with Mahoro but at least he isn’t avoiding Matakara anymore. I wanted more lore on the genies and for the other characters too, honestly. It’s not bad, but it’s not good either.
FINAL THOUGHTS
With how much I enjoyed Utsumi’s other works, I did tune in to Bucchigiri, hoping for the same excitement I felt watching her previous works, but even Utsumi has her off days. Bucchigiri is that off day. Out of all of her works so far, I can honestly say that this is her weakest work so far. I’m actually amazed because the combination of Hiroko Utsumi, the director of known shows like Free!, Banana Fish and SK8 The Infinity and Taku Kishimoto, the screenwriter of the Fruits Basket remake, Haikyuu, Blue Lock and Millionaire Detective, should result in something good, right? WRONG! A positive and a positive actually came out as a negative for once. The math you learned in school had been a lie all along.
Bucchigiri is a work where the other characters shine more than the protagonist Arajin. Arajin starts off a bit interesting but as the weeks pass by, the more insufferable he becomes without any redeeming qualities until the finale. Imagine writing a story where the protagonist only experiences bad qualities and only grows at the end. What kind of story is that? The side characters certainly shined more than Arajin, but that’s just my bias. It sucks that some of them have to be one-dimensional in order for Arajin to shine, but Arajin doesn’t really deserve it. I feel like this show would’ve been better had Matakara or Marito been the protagonists.
It’s a unique spin on the delinquent story as it’s mixed with genies, giving it a more supernatural flair. Unfortunately, the genie aspect is underutilized as the story likes to focus on the fights more. The fights aren’t bad—they’re good, but if you’re going for a story about genies, maybe try to use them and not be plot device for the inactive protagonist or as a sudden surprise villain. With Ichiya, we don’t even know how he got to be with Akutaro and why they haven’t fused. In fact, the genie lore itself was heavily undermined because I don’t know anything about these genies. They had a past together but where did they live? Why was there a war? How did they become genies? I still need my answers!
The music was surprisingly good. The opening and ending songs were really addicting and it sucks that they had to be used for an anime like this. The animation was amazing, courtesy of MAPPA. Despite MAPPA being overworked, they did a great job producing quality sakuga scenes for the fight scenes.
The voice acting was really good too. Utsumi knows how to cast quality voice actors. I love that she likes to use a mix of lesser known names with veterans. The only role I knew of Genki Okawa before Bucchigiri was from Yugioh Zexal, where he voiced Mizael. Despite Arajin not being a great character, Okawa did a great job voicing him. Matakara’s voice actor Yusuke Hoshino is a relatively new face, but he did a great job voicing Matakara from the cute and sweet side to the colder side. Masafumi Kobatake has been a name I’ve been seeing recently as he was in Frieren as Dunste and here as Senya. He was hilarious. I love the gap in his deep voice with his higher pitched gremlin voice for the chibi form. The side characters are all known names mixed with rather new faces, but they all did a great job. My favorites were Nozomu Sasaki as Marito and Chihiro Suzuki as Akutaro. They both did a great job doing the crazy sides of these two characters.
In all honesty, I wanted to like this show. Maybe if I wasn’t an anime reviewer, I would’ve had higher praises for this show, but as an anime reviewer, I can’t help but to be critical. It’s not a bad thing to be critical—to me, that is. I feel like I’m at the point in my life where I need to be more expressive and be more honest about my likes and dislikes. I dislike this anime. There, I said it. I just feel like it wasn’t the delinquent, hand-to-hand combat show I was expecting. I don’t recommend this show, honestly. If you want to watch a better Utsumi show, you’re better off watching SK8. I’ll be here watching Wind Breaker for my seasonal dosage of delinquent anime now. What are your thoughts on this anime as a whole?

Thanks for answering my ask. If you don't mind me asking (again), can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from Black Butler? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this question before....
Hello! Thanks again for the ask. No, nobody has ever asked me that, so I had to think about it. But here it is...
My 5 most favourite characters in BB & why:
1. Sebastian. I love how he's grown from the arrogant and sarcastic demon to 'Sebastian'. I love how surpirsed he is at his own growth and I also love that instead of fighting it, he's actually enjoying the ride? He's certainly aware of these changes, to a certain degree, but he just takes it in stride. I think being as old as he is, he must've been so bored, but with Ciel, he's having fun again (when not facing UT, that is). And of course, I love how possessive and protective he is towards Ciel, even beyond the contract sometimes.
2. Ciel. He's so messed up. He's only 13, but he's committed more crimes than all of England combined 😝 All jokes aside, I love how smart and resourceful he is, how determined he is in achieving his goals. One example is the cricket game. Those bruises all over his hand show just how determined he is and how hard he's practised for this game. He might have other end-goals, but it doesn't change the fact that he's led the Sapphire Owl house to victory. Also, we share similar interests. Just like Ciel, I also like chocolate and Sherlock Holmes.
3. Finny. He's just the sweetest! He's genuinely loyal to o!Ciel and he takes care of him that time in Germany. He always tried his best in taking care of the garden, even though he often gets scolded. I love his cheerful despoition and how he always tried his best - regardless of the result.
4. Charles Phipps. A rather unusual choice, I know. Unlike his partner, Phipps is so calm and collected, but beneath all that, he's a very capable butler and he's actually quite sweet in his own rights, such as fixing the hole on Fin's strawhat and raising the chicken.
5. Tanaka. I don't know where he stands and/or whose side he's on, but I just love how badass he is (slicing a bullet with a sword in the dark of the night), his chibi form, and how wise he is. I think he's one of the very few individuals whom Seb respected (as much as a demon could respect a human, that is). Seb even took his advice to heart, such as when he told Wolf (Gelzer) what Tanaka told him abot how a butler shouldn't die before his master. I think he did play some role in shaping Sebastian into the demon he was today.
Top 5 favourite moments (in the order they appear in the manga):
1. When Seb & Ciel revealed their tricks to Arthur Doyle. It's when we can see how they did everything, how they've calculated every move and how well they work together as a team. I think it's very cleverly done!
2. When Undertaker first revealed his Death Scythe. I think this moment is so cool, especially in the BoA movie with the animation and the sound effects and everything!
3. Sebastian's cinematic record. I love to watch them learn together to be the earl and his butler. I most especially love how far they've gotten since those early days, how much they both have changed. Bonus: the song 'I'm the Butler, You're the Earl' from the Tango on Campania musical is one of my favourites!
4. The scene when Seb wanted to eat Ciel in Green Witch arc. I think this is a very important moment in their relationship. I love that instead of succumbing to the gas, Ciel rose above it and run after Seb. I still don't know for sure what's happening and how much influence Seb has in Ciel's 'dream sequence', but Ciel chose Sebastian.
5. To follow up on #4, I love everything about these panels.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From how relaxed they are around each other, the string that seems to connect them, how they tease each other like old married couple, and repeated each other's words. Everything about this part is so lovely!
There are many other parts/moments that Iove throughout the series, but those are my top five.
Thanks again for the ask!

Skip to Loafer Anime Episode 1, Part 1 - Thoughts and more thoughts? (Part 2/3)
Here is Part 1 of my Part 1 LOL
NOTE: these posts do contain manga spoilers/ spoilers to episode 1 of the anime
6. Nao's Introduction
When I was looking at my side by side comparison with the anime to the manga, I was REALLY surprised to see that THIS was a difference. Where in the anime, Mitsumi says something along the lines of “Nao is my dad’s sibling”, I was really surprised that the manga translation introduces Nao as Mistumi’s dad’s younger “brother.” I’m really glad for this change, because character-wise it just makes SOOOOO much more sense that Mitsumi would use a gender-neutral term in her perspective that introduces Nao to all of us.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I was looking at two translations that are up on mangadex, I noticed that one had brother italicized, while the other doesn’t HM. Not too sure which one is the official one, but the italicized brother does give a different meaning than the one that isn't!
Tumblr media
I’m really curious as to what the original Japanese translates to in the intro of Nao, and would love a confirmation as to what the official english release translation of it was if anyone can send me any info in regards to that!
Edit as of: Fri, April 7, 2023~
The lovely Millie on discord has let me know that the official english release translation is true to Nao's identity! Millie has also provided me with a photo - thank you Millie :))) So that's awesome for me to see that Nao's intro really isn't a change from the manga to the anime.
Tumblr media
I'm still curious as to what the Japanese official manga translation is/ what the dialogue actually translate to in the anime, cause I think that'd give me far more context as to how the intro of Nao is adapted in the anime being introduced as "Nao is my dad's sibling", so if anyone has any info on that, I'm all ears and would love to know :)
Edit as of Friday, May 12th, 2023
The wonderful @li-changge has kindly explained the original Japanese translation. Please refer to the replies in this post :)))
7. Cute and cuter! Animals are the best.
I just thought it was so cute how we can see more of Mistumi’s lock screen in the anime! Honestly, I completely missed this when reading the manga
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. More Cherry Blossoms - they're falling for me, and I'm falling for them even more than I already am!
More cherry blossom action, but what’s cool is in the anime, we actually see it in action - LOL I love seeing anime doing its anime thing, but that's too bad in my screenshot.. you don't see any of the anime thing, so this is your sign to watch the episode again
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Huh? She's stuck to it.
I love how we get to hear the little “huh?” that Shima does! In the manga, it seems more so that Shima notices Mitsumi, with no spoken reaction!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, in this sequence of “girl stuck on the wall” we literally see a crowd part before we see MItsumi which i think only adds to the humour of this moment. Also, hearing the characters say these lines and how the voice actors have delivered them so freakin' well only makes the dialogue of Shima and Mukai even funnier HAHA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. Sound Rolling, Camera Speeding, Me Laughing
These moments were SO great to me on all senses - sound, visuals, my stomach muscles moving so I could ha ha ha
First of all, whatever gurgling sound mitsumi is doing in this moment made me topple over LOL
Tumblr media
and then the moment of reveal when mitsumi looks at shima for the first time with the sound effects? Also, the anime throughout has SUCH a great use of realism and when to really exaggerate the dramatics which only makes things all the more funnier - and this moment before mitsumi turns, then having that bg music hit and the visual background turn dark, and then close up of that eye  is one example of this anime’s great use of realism vs. heightened realism for effect
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
11. This Mitsumi Face
We get to see more of droopy mitsumi face in the anime and i’m here for it! This chibi-guilty face rocks my world and i’m very happy we get to see it, as it’s not really clear in the manga
Tumblr media Tumblr media
12. A little mix and match
This next moment, the anime and manga actually swapped/combined together some visuals from different moments and put them in one and the way they used it imo is really cool!
In the manga, mitsumi has this post-train ride reflection moment. For the first time, it happens right before she meets shima
Tumblr media
and the anime plays each sequence out in its own scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then later, after they got off the train and shima asks mitsumi if she wants to run to school, mitsumi’s has her post-train ride reflection a second time. In the manga, it looks like this:
Tumblr media
but in the anime, we just stay on her face
Tumblr media
i think what’s cool with this choice of using the different vignette scenes only during the very first post-train ride relfection - the being lost, being in the wave of people, etc. is that with the funny bg music, the added visuals only make it more funny.
Then by having her second reflection only focused on her face with no background music at all, really makes us feel like she’s reflecting on what happened in a different way, with more seriousness, and more gravity, and we can feel that through the simplicity of just looking at her, no sounds aside for her inner thoughts

Stickers are here!! Up in the shop, even!!
I've got the lovely three vinyl stickers in the first photo, and then some real cheap discount stickers that are the result of a home printing attempt. I wasn't pleased with the quality (hence the low price), but wanted to toss them up on the internet JIC anyone wants 'em!
My etsy shop can be found here!
A few other things got posted tonight as well, including the bookmark shared yesterday (see here) and a new card!
[ID: three product photos showing various stickers. The first shows three bright vinyl stickers with art of a hedgehog with rainbow spines, art of a raccoon holding a progressive pride flag, and art of a frog with text reading "the world can be tough but it's better because you are a part of it."
The second photo shows three OFMD themed stickers. One has chibi art of Stede with text reading "Stede Bonnet #1 Pirate," one has chibi art of Ed bending over with his butt to the viewer with text reading "Best ass in the caribbean," and one shows more realistic art of Jim dipping Oluwande in a kiss in the 'sailors kiss' pose.
The third photo shows a variety of stickers with marker art of animals on them, including a red fox with text reading "breathe deep, let this moment be calm," a yellow rat, an aardvark, a snail, and a chicken with text reading "time to scream aaaaaaa." End ID.]

My top 4 Skybristle designs: Mortal-made deities or legendary-associated cookies
Hello everyone! Mysticeti or Sea Angel here and as an artist I'm always looking to expand my knowledge, analysis and prowess in character design. My most favorite kind at the moment is creature design, but I enjoy looking at all kinds within a lot of artists I follow, fandom related or not. I recently some videos analysing character design in video games like Pokemon became inspired to do a little essay of my own.
For fun, and with permission of my good buddy @skybristle I will be reviewing my top 4 favorite designs of minx's. While this list is inherently biased, I will generally be following a certain criteria of concept versus execution in general character design a lot of other analysts go by. So, if the character design executes the concept well, it can be considered a good design in the art world. Not only that, but an ugly or creepy character design doesn't automatically mean bad in the art world if it's intended that way. However, this is cookie run we're talking about so my criteria will mainly be this:
1: It's unique and eye-catching, but looks like a believable tasty treat or implements it's main ingredient well. This even goes for elemental deities, even if their concepts won't always be a conventional food!
2:Intimidating and cool, but also looks like it could be a 'friend.' or approachable unless deliberately intended otherwise. It at least has to look sentient and has a unique personality since this is the cookie run world of talking cookies and animals.
3:Complicated, but memorable. Within a world of many cookies, it can be easy to forget most of them. Especially their details with their naturally chibi little gingerbread bodies. However, the best character designs in my opinion are the ones you can't be bound to forget - especially the important details that stand out and compliment the design without overhauling it. Even if you don't remember the name of a cookie, you can instantly recognize them with their design.
For example, Golden cheese cookie's wings, especially in her sprite may seem to be a bit in the background but are still an obvious and staple part of her design, especially her silhouette. You could ask any cookie run fan and they'd immediately think of her wings. This can go for the markings on her wings and eyeliner, too, they aren't even part of the silhouette but are still a very memorable part of her design - double deserving of praise!
Tumblr media
Also for this review I'll be looking at the mortal made deities or any legendary associated cookies even if they're not a deity within Skybristle's reimagining of CRK. In the future I may look false deities or the legendary beasts and animals.
DISCLAIMER: ALL of this art belongs to Skybristle! None of it belongs to me whatsoever, I was simply given permission by the artist to use mew's artwork here. Please go give minx a follow or check out all of minxes art and characters in one place toyhouse on their Tumblr I linked earlier!
Now, onto the rankings...! (Also, sorry for the grammar and writing errors, my Tumblr keeps farting every time I go back and edit them)
4: Hyacinth Eclipse cookie
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The last priestess of Primordial light cookie herself, Hyacinth Eclipse cookie! While I do have my preferences which we'll go over below, I can't say this design isn't great on its own. One of my favorite parts of this design that I think works really well is the shape language, and the symbolism that slides to Eclipse's name. The sharp, golden regalia of the sun's rays and jewels or patterns that resemble stars and recur throughout the design contrast nicely against the soft and simple but bright color palette, and the symbols of the sun moon and stars never outdo each other. The stars obviously serve to compliment the outfit and design as the symbols of the moon, sun and eclipse are the ones that really catch your eye. While we get a glimpse of the moon phases on the collar of Eclipse cookie's cape and on aer staff, we can also easily spot the striking golden spikes that resemble the sun's rays outside of the cape or shoes. The different distinct patterns for the sun and moon that can be seen on the little paper plates wrapped around the wooden staff's arms are also beautiful, distinct and in tune with each other.
While at first, as a cosmic priest, her expression seems calm but tenative - when looking closely, she looks extremely overwhelmed even with all this regal finery and grandeur. Just as overwhelmed as someone would be looking directly at a solar eclipse, or any cosmic diaster. Which, in a way, she sort of did witness one when it comes to her story. My only nitpick though is that I wish this design utilized the "Hyacinth" in Hyacinth Eclipse cookie's name more. With just the eclipse theme and the relatively average color palette that other cookie run characters related to the dream world directly line up with, she sort of looks like she could be any other character from the city of wizards. However, I'm not sure whether this was intentional or not, since she did look different from before Primordial light died, becoming incredibly jaded since. Her design from when she was a priest though IS very beautiful and unique, however! I'm not sure whether it's outdated or not though.
Not only that, but when it comes to her story of love and loss however, the name is not in vain! Hyacinth flowers can be associated with peace and commitment as they are associated with the God Apollo, but purple ones specifically are symbolized as sorrow and one begging for forgiveness. Blue ones are also associated with sincerity, and loyalty, like the loyalty Hyacinth Eclipse cookie always shows to Primordial light whether alive or dead, along to her family.
3:Wisteria cookie
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
What can I say? Wisteria's got to be one of the most beautiful cookies within the collective world of Skybristle's lore, both in concept and execution. Sky told me that they inferred concepts from a friend and I can't say I love it more! The idea of a wisteria-themed cookie is wonderful, and as someone who has been lurking around the cookie run Tumblr fandom since about 2017, I can't say I've heard of the concept too much beforehand, much less this strikingly. While there may have been previous wisteria themed cookies lurking around, this design is definitely what comes to anyone's mind when they hear of a wisteria-themed character. It completely utilizes the wisteria theme to it's full potential - from the literal flowers flowing from the hair to the dress patterns to even the hair flowing like the long, fast growing flowering vines of wisteria. Even the tails of butterflies that accompany Wisteria cookie flow like wisteria do.
Not only is the floral cookie theme executed nicely on a surface level, but also fits with the character's outfit and cultural fashion, resemblant of Japanese kimonos or even Korean hanboks but as if they were made of the flower itself. All of this natural majesty and grandeur that simply stems from the floral and cultural inspiration makes Wisteria cookie technically being a deity within the Cookie world feel all the more natural(a huge strength imo when it comes to mortal made deities)Within the naturally bright and saturated world of cookie run, more laid-back and desaturated looking designs are always welcomed and fits her story/character/homeland immensely.
Ironically, it naturally makes her stand out, especially as a goddess, even though traditionally IRL gods are moreso associated with a lot more radiance and light. At the same time though, wisterias irl are considered to be among the most colorful flowering vines ever, alluding to Wisteria's origins being within the dark frozen wasteland that is the Dark Cacao kingdom but still becoming a beacon of hope and peace within the land particularly in her godhood. Not only that, but if you're a newer fan of CRK, flowers and peace aren't traditionally what you'd associate with the Dark cacao kingdom's whereabouts, but it's a pure genius move for that to be the primary theme of Wisteria cookie. From the choice of the flower for what it represents + the environments it's native to paralleling the snowy kingdom, to her storyline relating to becoming a goddess of peace since the first war, to how the floral theme is executed with her design. Her design may seem simple, but full of so many lovely hidden details, and gets more unique the minute I talk about her!
Fun fact, but culturally, the wisteria is also associated with longevity, resilience, and immortality, as it is a flower that can live for centuries - befitting for a goddess of peace and patience. Her expression may seem simple, but can say so many things when you look at it more closely. This person has seen unspeakable things, but still chooses to remain hopeful about the world, like how wisteria blooming even when there is still snow out on early spring. Or is it a look of uncertainty, trying to put on a hopeful and brave face for others as the goddess of peace? On the other hand, despite the jaded and tired looking face, Wisteria cookie's design still retains an approachable and soft demeanor. This cookie is motherly, and will take care of you. However, as a cookie made of such a long-living flower, she definitely looks like a very experienced and ancient mage that is obviously different from the modern-day ones in the Dark Cacao Castle at first glance, just as how wisteria is considered to be one of the most brightly-colored flowering vines, especially as one growing in such dark and cold circumstances of early spring when snows still outside.
2:Glace berry cookie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Wisteria is a cookie that utilizes her theme and main ingredient amazingly within her design while also looking unique, Glace Berry's design takes that to a whole new level. Just looking at her face instantly draws you into this character. Her eyes alone look like there's a whole magical land of frost going on in there. Looking at Glace Berry's design is like being a child and experiencing snow for the first time, seeing it glow like diamonds against the dark night. The dark blues of her outfit complimented by the shiny blue perfect contrast of how winter may be depressing and dark, but also wondrous and magical. Not only that, but the simple looking outfit full of beautiful hidden details looks so cozy and the patterns can remind you of a grandma-knitted sweater, or looks like it could be from a Jan Brett book, like ironically her book about the Gingerbread man.
I can't say how the palette contrast between orange against the relatively monochromatic blues really seals the otherworldly look for this character that just draws you in, like true a snow siren some call her. While incredibly unique, this design also utilizes it's berry theming quite well too. While there are lots of cookies I can think of that utilize both their food themes and cultural/social inspiration well simultaneously, Glace berry takes it to the next level - with her berries not only alluding to her name but also providing a beautiful level of contrast that not only compliments, but enhances the monochromatic palette of icy and dark blues. Despite her canonical connection and similar appearance to Sherbet cookie, this design has so many things about it you can never find nor associate with Sherbet with his own name and food/cultural inspiration. Everything about her design just really gives you childhood nostalgia, especially if you ever grew up with winter in your area, while also having so many unique elements on its own - both food-related and winter-related.
Alright! That concludes the top four. So now, our little winner of the legendary-related original characters is....
ABYSSAL STAR cookie!
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
(and to answer your question on how she is legendary-related, she does have a lot of narrative ties with black pearl...also, i couldn't really find anyone else) Okay, maybe I am a bit biased. But just LOOK at this thing and say it isn't the most coolest of cookie run designs you may have ever seen. It has so many hidden details and and features that alude to the angler fish inspiration, along with beautiful and striking colors or shape language, all while looking like a completely believable cookie run character even if she's not conventionally sweet, made of a consumable food or human-adjacent. Also, many of the elements of the design are just fucking cool. The locs that look like a deep sea squid's tentacles, the little piercings and ropes, very nice! I also love the little sparkles, not putting the star in her name in vain. Though, I do feel like her tail does look a bit big and un-attached to her relatively frail looking body, though she is a cookie, so it checks out. I think the cape is also a little much for a cookie design especially when she does have the tail going on, but could definitely work in a more realistic or gijinka of this cookie.
While not a grandeur deity nor a powerful mage, what I think makes Abyssal star cookie's design work so well against all the others is how the concept is so simple and very believable in concept, execution, and even design, all while being so unique even against legendaries and ancients. Like I said before, she may not be made of a natural element nor a conventionally sweet food, but it's not like Cookie run itself hasn't made plenty of fish inspired and more mercreature adjacent esigns before whether they are based on actual seafood or not, both of legendary and non legendary status. Even in the living deep sea city, there's an angler-fish cookie! However, her relatively dark color palette with the contrast of bright pink and purple colors, along with the shape of her fins and general aesthetic look very distinct from any other angler fish inspired cookie design.
And on the contrary, this cookie naturally looks intimidating and even otherworldly as she is from the deep sea, but just as cute as any other cookie. It's the perfect ditchomy that I think really encapsulates the legacy of cookie run character design, all while having the artists personal touch and style to it. Her expression is naturally, cold and intimidating, but not just cool and stoic either, showing so much personality in there! It's a nasty, confrontational, "I don't trust you" type of look that tells you to immediately stop what you're doing and question all your life decisions. However, her colorful color palette can also tell us that this cookie is capable of becoming an ally or friend that will fight for you to the end. One of the artist's biggest strengths is how they draw expressions, giving so much personality and life to even the most initially scary and unfeeling-looking cookies. And that's what makes Skybristle's designs so nice. I'm not sure how else to end this, but see you on the next potential review :]

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 2: Dungeon Suite [Part 1]
Y'know, I meant to do the ops and eds on the side, but tbh feels a bit pointless? So I'm making up for the op here.
Fun fact! I actually used to dislike V.I.P.! I like it, now, but at first it was just kinda meh to me. Idk what changed. But still Hikari >>>>>>> Honestly, Hikari and With You With Me are still best op/ed in Magi to me, and that will not change. But I am also extremely biased towards the Magnostadt Arc. Can't wait for it.
Tumblr media
I like it when they're allowed to be a trio. And also how it's shown from Morgiana's perspective. The world was so dark until these two came around.
Tumblr media
You seemed like you were gonna be more important than you ended up being, and I'm a bit sorry.
Tumblr media
Ugh, this dumb bitch (I love him).
Tumblr media
My beautiful daughter who deserves every good thing in the world and a very not cool boyfriend with a stupid horn on his head.
Tumblr media
Fun fact, I've only noticed that lil prince Alibaba on xth rewatch.
Tumblr media
I love the door scene, ngl.
Anyway, I also really liked at the beginning the scene with Ugo, and how it transitioned to Alibaba. It's both cute and a bit sad, too. Alibaba's kinda filling that place Ugo's about to leave empty.
Ok, the actual episode.
Tumblr media
That's still a really cool shot.
Also, I forgot to mention. But in the anime Aladdin and Alibaba become genuine friends far faster. But that's also bc the first few chapters were juggled around a bit.
Tumblr media
Aladdin gest tired of summoning Ugo much faster here, and, yeah, he just faints a little, pushing Alibaba and himself in.
Tumblr media
Wheeee
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a cool scene, and I like it very much, but also, that's the exact opposite of what happened in the manga. I've mentioned it before, in the manga Aladdin wakes up first and has some time to calm down, so he's more level-headed when Alibaba gets there, and he is the one to save Alibaba by convincing him not to rush in blindly. Here, well, clearly Alibaba wakes up first (because Aladdin's already kinda fainted), notices the danger and gets them out.
Tumblr media
You guys remember all these chibi Rolling Girl animations?
Tumblr media
We had a moment with Jamil (I don't recall half of the oasis trying to convince him not to go), but it was a funny scene, bc it transformed into Aladdin and Alibaba running and screaming.
Tumblr media
He's just like me fr
ALSO now that I realize. In the manga Alibaba actually makes a point to prepare for the dungeon. I like that, it shows that he's being understandably cautious. But here they just straight up ran on Ugo from the desert, and went in without a second thought. Well, that's not true, Alibaba was thinking about what it entailed, but he didn't actually consider preparing or anything at all, only asked if Aladdin wanted to turn back, cuz it was his last chance.
Oh, yeah, Alibaba's thinking about it, now. Good that he's aware of that, but, like, it's quite a difference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene is still hilarious.
But also, man, purpla saliva looks kinda sick there, ngl.
Tumblr media
Oh, yeah, I wasn't imagining it. They used white outline for it.
Alibaba has a pretty cool fighting moment here, ngl.
Tumblr media
AGAIN. Man, they really made Alibaba save their asses left and right. In the manga it was, again, Aladdin, who called for Ugo. Like, bro, what the hell.
Like, listen, I live for Alibaba being allowed to be cool and all that, but not at the cost of other cast members?
Now Aladdin's calling for Ugo, so at least that, I guess. But it sure took him ages to do anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WASTED
But also, I gotta admit that Amon's Dungeon is my favorite aesthetics-wise. I love all the colors here.

I read your tags in that other anon post and I agree about enjoying Star Seekers content more in the medium of a music video than the webtoon & Wattpad story……for me personally, watching the music videos feels like excavating meaning and symbolism and it makes me really excited to analyze and draw parallels and notice details and form theories, but with the webtoon and the Wattpad story, I get none of that. They’re definitely helpful to understand the story, but it kinda made me realize that I don’t want the intricacies of the story told to me…..I want to experience the story and figure it out myself
Which is kinda ironic ‘cause I do own the BU novella Notes and I love those, but personally I think the way those are written, even the English translation, are down to earth and kinda journal-y so it feels more……personal and gritty? Idk lol
Hi nonnie, sorry it took me a few days to reply. I agree with you! For me, the sparseness and language of the BU Notes (based on the English translation) worked due to the quasi-journal format and the characters themselves. The Star Seekers wattpad story, on the other hand, feels... rushed and simplistic, perhaps to make it easier to translate into many languages. The frustrating part to me is that hybe both treats it like it's an important thing yet doesn't fully and consistently commit the resources to making it as strong as it could be (e.g., hiring better writers and translators. sorry but I've read better fanfiction, and I only draw that comparison because some of it reads like poorly written fanfiction). Obviously this isn't the case all the time, because The Doom's Night animation exists as well as the short yet visually flashy trailer. The webtoon feels more polished, but it also has some tonal inconsistency that's distracting to me (yeah, I'm talking about the chibi moments), or sometimes it feels like it's written for an audience that just... doesn't include me. In the beginning, when I was reading both simultaneously, I actually preferred the darker/grittier tone of the wattpad story, but it's very difficult for me to turn off the critic in my brain, which detracts from the overall experience.
If anyone reading this thinks this is overly critical, well... I loved the narrative before the webtoon and wattpad versions were released, and I was genuinely excited for what they would contain. Due to the ambiguity of the mvs/films prior to their release, I knew there was a risk I wouldn't love the direction of the story once it was revealed more clearly. I gave it a chance to the best of my ability, but I am, honestly, a bit disappointed with the fundamental premise. I'm still trying to give it more time, but as far as the publications go, I'm not going to make any excuses for their quality or lack thereof.

The Case of Vanitas Watchrough & Readthrough
Tumblr media
The Vanitas Opening is cute, very rom-com like. Basically just the two of them going on dates lol. I hope they're actually gay for each other. I need that. I really need that.
Vanitas episode was pretty good. Definitely more of an emphasis on world-building than character so far tho, and still has that Pandora Hearts comedy, but it's way less obnoxious, and presentation wise it's slick and stylish. It's got a solid hook, so I'll stick around for more.
I appreciate the Vanitas anime keeping the OST running even during gags. I feel like most anime stops the music during quick jokes, but keeping it going makes it flow better.
Rewatching Vanitas from the start as I'm gonna catch up now, and this is a very strong overarching hook.
Tumblr media
Yeah, he's not. Like, at all. That is a very weird insult.
Tumblr media
Hmmm...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooh. It's interesting that Noe seems to respect his teacher a lot and is very loyal to him in the present, but with this reveal, that could be tinted to being something of a coping mechanism or something, cause he's gotta have mixed feelings about him after this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am reading the Vanitas manga as well, just to see how it did things, and the art is pretty excellent, as expected. Altho the quality of scans varies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some non-colored pages too, cause the actual art in the manga is very good as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like the kind of preview they did for the next volume at the end of volume 2, hope they keep doing that.
Tumblr media
Noé is precious.
Tumblr media
Vanitas is intriguing. I like him a bit more in the manga (I'm not crazy about Hanae voicing him) but it's interesting to ponder whether his preferring that his love doesn't love him back is cause he doesn't want to be tied down or if it's some self-inflicted punishment.
Tumblr media
On the one hand, his love for Jeanne feels genuine, but on the other hand, his actions towards her feel very calculated to get the most out of her. Of course, they're not mutually exclusive, I suppose. Either way, lots of potential here. Shame he's a bit annoying lol.
Noè is probably still my favourite character, just cause, he's a sweet, precious little cinnamonbun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
baby
Tumblr media
Could be how Noé kills Vanitas in the future then.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vanitas no Carte Part 1 was pretty fun. Looks great. Stylish and sexy, with plenty of intrigue and strong world-building. Some annoying comedic faces and chibi intercuts tho. Noé is precious and wanna know more about Vanitas. Most a really faithful adaptation too.
Tumblr media
The Vanitas anime definitely cuts stuff from the manga, but so far it's not really super significant stuff and they manage to communicate the info in other ways instead. Altho that Mikhail has yet to appear in the anime.
Mmmm...
Tumblr media
Backstory episodes in Vanitas hit different. They happen a lot in Jun's stories, she seems fond of them. It's one of the things she's the best at too, I'd say. Sadly, this was the first episode with real significant cuts from the manga imo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before it's always been skipping some details you can infer anyway from the context, but entire scenes were also missing here. Mind you, the episode on its own was very good, but, you get more in the manga, and it's more essential to the experience here than it's been previously.
The visual direction has been less Shaft-like overall, compared to Part 1, and a bit more standard Bones, which I think works in its favour at the moment. They pulled some trademark Shaft in this episode tho, but it fit a lot better here.
Jun is still a bit of a mixed writer for me even here in some regards, but she's definitely improved from Pandora Hearts. Her set-up is a lot better constructed here. Bodes good, gives me hope the climaxes she's very good at could actually properly hit for me here.
I was hoping for Chloé to have a little bit more self-agency, so very much like this twist. Not yet quite sure why she's going against Naenia tho, but guessing because she manipulated her to keep living and Jean to become the beast, and she eventually realized that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm just spitballing, obviously, we'll get more info on this next episode, I'm just thinking out loud at the moment.
Ah, alright, yeah.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, anime cutting stuff but nothing that crucial, just further small moments, further details, or more action that isn't VITAL to the overall narrative. I understand manga purists disliking it but as an adaptation, think the anime is doing the best it can good enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
OH SHIT.
Tumblr media
INSANE VISUAL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, the theme of loneliness seems to be the central one in Vanitas.
Oh damn.
Tumblr media
Another great spread. It pays to see how the manga depicted these moments as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Art was a bit off for the kiss in the anime, but they adapted the smile pretty nicely. This is very cute.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Usually, the comedy in Vanitas doesn't do much for me, but this was one of the most effective comedy-driven stretches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, I dunno how effective this twist is. Okay, I guess they're twins then, and not one year apart. And the reason for all this is because of some weird superstition that twins are bad luck for vampires or something? Maybe the manga elaborates on this but...
And then there's this, and I guess it's natural for her to assume that in her current state of mind, but with the twist not being that clever, this is just annoying, when it's obvious he might mistake her for him, as they look almost identical, and he has like PTSD so?
Tumblr media
Mikhail is an interesting addition to the story.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ignoring the execution of things, the ideas for her backstory feels very Mochizuki, and in a good way, so hopefully the manga does this in a way that is more effective for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, no, the whole that Louis was said to be ill but not actually was vague from the start, as was him supposedly being one year old but actually wasn't, and it all being based on this weird superstition is a bit weak.
Some nice stuff for Domi, her cutting her hair to look like Louis would've been really disturbing in the right way if the context was strong enough to back it up, and it reveals why she doesn't think Noe loves her, as she thinks Noe agrees that Louis should've survived.
But yeah, the twist and logic behind it are not strong enough to make it as effective as it could've been. I mean, I'm not here thinking it's so stupid, but it's just not super strong for me, but oh well.
Tumblr media
This is also weird, why give Noé stakes AFTER he's dead? We'll probably get more on this tho, I think. Or I'm missing something.
Mikhail is at least twisted in all the right ways, in typical Mochizuki fashion. Beginning of his backstory was a bit tonally off in the anime, but handled much better here in the manga. Excited to finish the anime and catch up to the manga tomorrow and find out more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dude, this confrontation between Noé and Vanitas is crazy good.
Tumblr media
Oh...
Tumblr media
We'll see where this goes, cause having him be behind a lot of the stuff in the story yet having been basically completely invisible throughout the narrative doesn't seem fair to the viewer, but we'll see.
He's got the same eyes as Noè's cats, and also calls them kittens. He might be the cat lol.
Tumblr media
Vanitas No Carte Part 2 is a mostly faithful adaptation that when it has to cut things, chooses the least crucial parts, and story-wise it really ramped things up and delved into the more interesting and darker ideas, shedding light on its mysteries. Really good overall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jeez, his entrance is way scarier in the manga.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Caught up to the Vanitas no Carte manga, which was consistently very good, and occasionally great! Jun's writing skills have improved, and I'm more invested than ever right now, so I very much hope that she has a lot of story left to tell cause I think there's plenty of promise.

How did you develop your art style?
Lots of trial and error, I still have a lot I switch between depending on my mood or level of effort. Yap session incoming.
For my very low effort days, the little chibis started as in class doodles from really basic shapes (where, in my normal more 'anime' style that's more lines and flow). It's not something I ever really studied in particular
A step above that in effort is the sort of sticker style I like to call it. Still half colored but not as simple as the chibis. This is anything from like my twitter banner to my youtube logo. This started around 2022 when I was super into like twitch emotes? I wanted to be able to use my drawings as emotes in my own servers and to make emotes for others and to a degree I achieved this! I have my own private server where I have my own emotes and a couple public servers where they're emotes as well.
I also have that sort of fully fledged chibi style (see : my squido and catc drawing). Generally, I don't draw like that. The simplistic shading is a haunt from my general lack of rendering skill and practice and the messy lines a callback to my lack of confidence with rounder styles. I love the way that piece turned out, but I think it'll stay a spur of the moment thing. Those rounder styles and cartoonish features are much easier learned in modern day art classes of character design and things like that, of which I have no experience. My only classical teaching has been in line and form.
I also have that reused 0.5 head base I do often. I've fallen put of practice recently (mostly because it's not aa funny as it used to be) but it's a nice callback to freedom and messiness in my pieces. I enjoy the stylized lack of linearity, but not so much the insults I've gotten on pieces like that.
Then there's my sort of 'finished piece' style. I do not like this, I hate forcing myself to finish a piece, knowing I'm going to want to finish it makes me want to finish it quicker and thus I rush the whole thing. Generally the only few pieces I've ever finished and enjoyed have been jokes or my current twitter pfp. The art isn't about the final product, but more the process. If you make something and loved it the whole way through you'll never feel a sense of resentment towards your work.
This leads me to my main style. I love the black and white, I love the sketchiness. I just have fun making something instead of doing it because I have to. I struggle with the daily accounts I'm a part of because of that necessity to draw, but it's still important practice. To be honest, this style could use the practice. I'm slowly refining my practice into something thats visible (god knows I overused thin lines back in the day) as well as something with flow and form. I suffer a huge disconnect between parts brcause I hyperfixate and overwork one bit of a drawing, so I've been trying to avoid that as much as possible too. Overall I still want to play with lineweight more (like in 001) and I want to stay away from thinner lines (003). I think 002 showcases the overwork in the earring well too. Eventually when I'm happy with my style (preferably with cleaner lines than 001 but with the same line weight and general thickness, as well as in full black and white or very small accent color) I'd like to work my serialized pieces into designs for tarot cards.
TLDR; Draw lots. Learn the basics before you try to develop a style, learn what differentiates styles with flow and form and line from shape and color. From there on just do what you think is best, find what you don't like in your art, and violently murder it.

2.
1. What are you doing at this exact moment? (I want details, people!)
Details, okay. Sitting on the floor in the living room and doing a survey on my laptop while half listening to this true crime video my sister is watching. Occasionally checking my phone too.
2. The one song you will never get sick of? Additionally, any song recommendations?
I feel like there are sooo many songs I won’t get sick of. But I’ll go with Blood Sweat & Tears by BTS -- that song is just *chef’s kiss*. Alsooo, Jimin’s whole new album is fantastic, so that’s my recommendation.
3. Name everything you have ever wanted to be (occupations and random things, like animals!)
Oof, I’m pretty sure I won’t even be able to remember it all. But here goes nothing: writer, translator, chocolate factory owner, astronaut, archaeologist, Santa Claus, teacher, wizard in Harry Potter, actor, singer, artist, and ever since I got a cat, I’ve really wanted to switch places with it too.
4. What is the best fanfic you have ever read?
Ahahah so honestly, I only read really bad fanfics since I find them so funny. When I was younger I used to read some good ones too. But at this stage of my life, the more messy they are, the better. My absolute favourite of all time is My Immortal and well, it’s not good per se, but it’s a work of art.
5. Name every fandom you have ever been in!
I’m a fan of many things but I used to avoid fandoms, so it’s only recently that I’ve actually got involved in a few. So I’d say just AoT fandom (a complete mess btw) and Army.
6. What is the saddest movie you have ever watched? Additionally, movie recommendations?
Any films where dogs die or watch their owners die, like, why. I think I cried my soul out watching Hachi and I’m not even much of a crier normally.
As for movie recs, Oldboy. Korean version though. Thank me or curse me later.
7. If you could direct your own TV show/movie, what would it be like?
I’d probably go for psychological horror with some really bizarre twist or so.
8. The cringiest account/fan account you’ve ever made? (oh god)
I didn’t really have any, I think. There was a time I had this weird Google+ account where I followed anime pages and even became an admin of one, but I don’t think there was anything super cringy there.
...I hope.
9. What’s your aesthetic? Describe it to us.
I’m not really sure I even have an aesthetic, but I’m like a mixture of K-pop and rock/alternative/grunge scene with a little dash of Halloween (so, all in all, lots of black clothes).
10. One thing you’ve always wished you could do / be good at?
Dancing or painting.
11. Put a picture of your best (or your worst!) fanart/drawing ever!
I only do little chibi doodles here and there but they’re all pretty horrible lol
12. The best book you have ever read? Additionally, any book recommendations?
Oof, that’s a hard one. I guess one of my all-time favourites is The Trial by Kafka, but I have to mention Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata because I feel like that book both fully understands me and also changed my entire outlook on life. It’s really short too, so everyone can and should read it!
13. Most exotic food you’ve ever had?
Idk, I don’t think I’ve eaten anything too exotic. I guess octopus is kind exotic in these parts, so I’ll go with that.
14. Post a picture of the weirdest/funniest text conversation you’ve ever had!
I don’t really save pictures of my convos with friends and I won’t go looking for anything now.
15. Random fun fact about you!
Last summer at 4 am in the morning, I decided to just chop off my bangs, so I grabbed regular kitchen scissors and did it, no planning, no idea what I’m doing, no nothing. Surprisingly, they turned out okay -- not the best, but acceptable. I shudder to think what could’ve been now that I actually watched some tutorials and know how I'm supposed to do it.
16. What do you think of me?
You’re a real engima.
17. Do you have any fake names? Pseudonyms? Idk, stage names, street names? If not, what would it be?
Nah, and I don’t know what name I would give myself anyway.
18. What is your idea of a perfect life?
Just having the financial freedom to travel the world whenever I want and health to support such adventures for as long as possible.
19. Finish the sentence: “Oh, to be a _____”
Cat.
20. Is there a stranger you would like to meet again?
A sweet old woman I met on the bus once who was telling me about her health problems. She was so grateful because I adjusted something on her phone, and I really hope she’s doing better now.
21. Post a picture of you/someone you know doing something weird. Do it, you won’t. Coward. (Obviously the pic doesn’t have to have a face in it)
Nah, I’m definitely a coward
22. Is there a place you feel homesick for even though you’ve never been there?
So, I wouldn’t really call that homesick, but I desperately want to visit Japan. And sometimes when I watch stuff related to Japan and see the nature and the streets and all, I just go like ;-; take me there already
23. Basic, but what’s your sign?
Leo
24. What sign do you act like? What sign do you wish you were?
Idk for sure, but I always think I act more like my rising sign, Aquarius. And I don’t know which sign I’d like to be, it doesn’t really make a difference to me
25. What is one unusual thing you do?
I’m in the process of making 1000 origami cranes because a legend says you can make a wish once you’re done. I don’t actually know what I’d wish for, but by the time I’m done, I’m sure I’ll figure it out

Pairing:  Alpha! Kentarou Kyoutani x Omega! Reader
Genre: Fluff
Request:  Hi! I love your abo blog! I was wondering if you could write about Alpha!Kyotani with an Omega!Reader, where their first encounter catches everyone by surprise? Like, Reader has a traditionally alpha scent (like burning/smokey wood) and can usually get away with being mistaken as an alpha at first glance? It’s fine if you’re asks are full or you don’t want to do this but thanks for your time 😊 —Sno
Summary:  You just wanted to get the boys to practice on time. You weren’t prepared to deal with this.  Good thing you had a gaurdian angel- or should we say, dog.
Author’s Note: I love Kyoutani so much. Like he’s in my top three people I simp for.
Requests: Open!
Tumblr media
Kentarou Kyoutani
➵ No one gathered in your way when walked down the hall. You smelt strong enough to put them on edge.
➵ Peoples hackles were constantly raised when you were around, and truthfully, you didn’t know why.
➵ You were still you. You were still an omega.
➵ You still ached to reach out for touch, to scent someone, to just have the smallest bit of attention from anyone that wasn’t Iwaizumi.
➵  You and he had met when you were young, and he took to being your personal guardian—since he was a year older than you.
➵  You were thankful for him and his friendship, but that was all it would ever be. You both tried dating in your first year of middle school (Dating being a loose term), but it was obvious you were better off as friends.
➵ You both still hung out constantly though, and eventually he grew to be an older brother to you.
➵  When you got to high school though, you quickly realized that with Iwaizumi came Oikawa. You had known him just as you had known Iwaizumi, but the other male seemed to keep his distance from you.
➵ It didn’t take a genius to figure out why he was keeping his distance with you. When you and Iwaizumi explained to him there was nothing between the two of you, nor would there ever be, he calmed down.
➵ The fellow omega (Oikawa is an omega ass bottom change my mind. Unless it comes to requests. Then he’s an alpha for you :D) grew to be close with you as well and if one or the other was being idiotic you stepped in as the shoulder to cry on.
➵ You were happy for them, truly, but you knew sooner or later you were going to be out of the picture.
➵  They were third years, and you were a second year. They had a relationship that ran deeper than any thing you could offer them.
➵ And that was okay.
➵ Facing the obvious, it’s clear that, because your best friends are those two dorks, you’re into volleyball. Or in the very least, know of it and how to play. Because of this, you’re elected manager.
➵  No more choice.
➵ You don’t fawn over Oikawa constantly, you can handle Iwaizumi’s outbursts, you were calm with the first years, and you don’t put up with any fan girl’s bullshit.
➵ You didn’t get the chance to refuse honestly.
➵ “I’m sorry, but unfortunately, Oikawa-Senpai is busy at the moment- “
➵ “Please, just- Let me see him! I won’t be long!” The Alpha pleaded, trying to appease to your sense of empathy. Unfortunately for her, that was dried up before the second girl even looked at you to ask the very same thing.
➵ You were tired of girls, obviously not getting the hint, trying to confess their undying love to Oikawa every other day. How did they not see he was an Omega?
➵ Yeah, he had suppressants out the wahzoo but, good golly, his mannerisms were all Omega.
➵ Apparently this alpha though her and Oikawa would be the ultimate power couple.
➵ “Like I said before, he is busy. Any time you take up is time wasted.” You snorted, turning tail and shutting the gym door, ignoring the screech of anger behind it. You were used to it.
➵  Most times you locked them out, they’d throw a bitch-fit, turn and bad-mouth you to their friends for a few days.
➵ They’d tease you for your scent—which was a, frankly lovely, pinewood and amber scent—and poke fun at you, saying how ‘you’ll never get an alpha smelling stronger than them” with a sneer. You’ve learned to ignore those types of girls.
➵ What you didn’t expect however, was for her to scream some more, banging on the metal door.
➵  It was ripped open in your moment of shock, making you turn on your heel to face her.
➵ Her hair, though still relatively upkept, was frizzy with fly-a way’s running out occasionally, but her eyes were what scared you.
➵ They were constricted to ball point bulbs that were locked onto you, fangs poking out as she snarled at you.
➵ Of course. Because why wouldn’t a feral Alpha be part of your day today?
➵ You growled yourself, trying to reign in your scent but it was getting harder and harder as she stalked closer.
➵ No one else was in the gym, as they were changing in the club room, but you figured you could handle her.
➵ You hoped at least.
➵ She tried pouncing on you, your arms quickly crossing in front of your face to shield yourself, but instead of an angry alpha trying to claw your eyes out, you merely got a gust of wind.
➵   Peeking open an eye—you couldn’t recall closing them, but whatever—you frowned at the face staring back at you.
➵  You hadn’t talked to him, personally, but you knew who he was. Kentarou Kyoutani.
➵ He was incredibly strong, a worthy advisory, and worst of all…
➵ A ticking time-bomb of an alpha.
➵ He had the resting bitch face to end all resting bitch faces, and the attitude to go with it. He had only said one word to you ever and it was ‘move’. His voice was gruff and angry when he said it, but his eyes softened when you looked up at him.
➵ He waited patiently for you to gather your things before moving. That was the first, and what you thought, last time you’d ever see the alpha. He entranced you though, so you wouldn’t ever necessarily be opposed to seeing him again.
➵ Just maybe not in this circumstance.
➵ Kyoutani held the alpha by the collar of her shirt, his lips poked up in a snarl with his canines gleaming dangerously in the sunlight
➵ . Contrary to popular belief, he’d only ever gone feral once in his life. His stepfather, an awful, awful, excuse for an alpha had raised a hand to his Mama.
➵  He refused to let anyone ever raise a hand to omega that day and stuck to his grits with it.
➵  Many people often feared him because of his careful eye and quick reflexes.
➵ They claimed he was close to going feral because they never cared to admit they were planning on hurting someone. He didn’t care.
➵ At least he didn’t. When he saw you simply turn and close the gym door, he felt his heart skip a beat.
➵ Maybe it was just the fact that you didn’t relent, or maybe it was the fact that you didn’t care or bend or submiss in the absolute slightest, or maybe it was the waft of the most calming scent he’s ever smelt before.
➵  He knew the other alpha’s scent, as she had practically reeked all over him while asking him for things Oikawa liked before he snapped on her, so this was all you. And he…liked it.
➵ He hated scents that were too sweet or too ‘exciting’ in a way, but this? This was calming and euphoric all in one and he wanted to straight up bathe in it.  It smelt that good.
➵ He watched the alpha screech, stomping her foot—he could guess she was the very definition of daddy’s girl with her reaction to being told ‘no’—and before he could growl at her to leave, she was forcing open the door and snarling.
➵ So, he dropped his bag and ran to make sure you were okay. His alpha pawing at him to hurry up.
➵ He had felt the very same as they day he ran his stepfather out of his life, but this time…This time, he would be sure not to go feral. That would scare you and he couldn’t, wouldn’t risk that.
➵ When he got there, the alpha lunged and he had barely enough time to grab her. You looked shocked to see him, or maybe it was residue from when she broke into the gym, but you didn’t say anything.
➵  He took that as a good sign, turning tail and dragging her to where he dropped his bag. He grabbed it quickly, instead dropping her and rushing back to the gym.
➵  You closed the door behind him, Iwaizumi and Matsukawa quickly locking it. In the time, between Kyoutani dragging out the feral alpha you had the chance to text Iwaizumi, sending choppy and shaky, but succinct, messages to let him know what was going on.
➵  The rest of the team were on their way anyway, so they merely hurried their steps. When they turned to lock the door, you stopped them, crying for them to just wait for a minute.
➵ Kyoutani had run in seconds after your plea and the door was quickly shut.
➵ Scents were going insane in the gym, but his was most discernible to you. He smelt scared.
➵  Before anyone had a chance to mention it though, he was turning to you and reaching for your face.
➵ you flinched but that didn’t stop him. His fingers were gentle, more so than you could expect from him, and he was so soft while turning your face to observe the damage. Iwaizumi tried to get close, but he was growled at as you were held to Kyoutani’s chest.
➵  The team could only watch, flabbergasted, as you were hugged and scented by their mad dog. Even more so when you began laughing and purring, placing your hands around his neck.
➵  You whispered something (They were ‘Thank you’ and appreciation whispers) into his ear, making his shoulders visibly relax. No one could really understand what had happened, but they weren’t sure if they wanted to question it just yet.
➵ Well, most of team didn’t at least.
➵ “Aw, Mad dog-Chan! How do you know our little Chibi-chan?” Oikawa laughed, leaning off Iwaizumi as he spun a volleyball on his pointer finger.
➵ Kyoutani grunted, abruptly pulling away, only to growl and pull you back when his alpha snarled. “Don’t.”
➵ “Wait- wait, wait. Hold on.” Hanamaki snorted, holding his hands up. “So you, Mad dog, most vicious alpha this side of the equator, just decided fuck it, and chose to not only save an omega you’ve never met, but then hog her? I don’t know, Mattsun, seems kind of sus to me.”
➵ “Very sus.” Matsukawa agreed, snickering. He yelped however, when Kyoutani turned to snarl at him, only for you to hold him back. Matsukawa had never felt more scared for his life in that very moment, and he owed you a whole ass chapel.
➵ It stayed like that for the rest of the practice, with you calming Kyoutani down ever time he needed a ‘time out’ and over time he got much better at controlling his anger.
➵ No one was surprised when you walked in two weeks later, a small, thin leather choker clipped on around your neck with a hand-made moon charm hanging from it.

On the Topic of Seiya Kou.
This is a Sailor Moon post rather than a Dragon Age post. Shocker, I know, but Sailor Moon is another one of my loves. This will focus on the 90s anime adaptation of the manga. So do not come at me with “but in the manga,” because the 90s adaptation and the manga were incredibly different in multiple ways. Seiya will be referred to as she/her because the male form was a disguise. That being said, any interpretation of Seiya’s gender is valid and I love them all! Anyway. I see a lot of shit talking about Seiya and it’s honestly ... super tiring. So many of the “negative” points against Seiya are misinterpreted, misunderstood, and misrepresented for the sake of making her look like a dumpster fire. 1. “Seiya is creepy towards Usagi and stalks her.” Except ... she doesn’t. They meet by accident numerous times, and in fact Usagi even seeks Seiya out. They develop a friendship, and it’s normal and natural for friends to seek each other out. Usagi and the girls actually, literally stalk the Three Lights more than once during the season. 2. “Seiya thinks Usagi is weak because she told Mamoru to take care of her when they left.” This honestly makes no sense to me. It is repeatedly shown that Seiya admires Usagi’s strength, both as Usagi and as Sailor Moon. It is natural to want the people you love to be protected, and that does not mean that you think they’re weak and incapable of protecting themselves. Seiya knew Usagi was capable and strong because she had seen her demonstrate these traits multiple times. Throughout the season, Seiya repeatedly lifts Usagi up with her confidence in her capabilities. This is even before she knows she is Sailor Moon. Let’s not forget that when Galaxia kills all of the Inners, they ask the Starlights to protect Sailor Moon, so saying that Seiya telling Mamoru to take care of her means she thinks she is weak ... that must mean everyone else thinks she is too, right? It’s absurd. 3. “Seiya can’t take ‘no’ for an answer, always hits on her, and is constantly pressuring her into a relationship.” It is true that Seiya repeatedly quips about “having a chance” with Usagi. It’s also true that Usagi repeatedly reminds Seiya that she has a boyfriend. But it isn’t true that Seiya repeatedly attempts to coerce her into a relationship. It also isn’t true that she does it all the time. While she shouldn’t have done it even more than once (when she was unaware of Usagi’s relationship status,) it’s obvious from the context that she isn’t being serious. Seiya repeatedly making quips is an issue, and while those kinds of situations can and often do mean someone is being a “Nice Guy,” a predator, an abuser, etc., we know from everything that we see that it is not the case with Seiya. Let’s take the “date,” for an example: Seiya throws it out there (literally, just time and place and walks off) and Usagi willingly shows up the next day and is even irritated that Seiya is late. Usagi is not forced or coerced into the date; she retains all of the power regarding whether or not she shows up. She would not have gone if she didn’t want to. Actually, let’s look at these instances of Seiya hitting/making a move on Usagi. - In the “date” episode, Usagi thinks that Seiya is going to make a move on her. Some suggest that Usagi thinks she is going to kiss her, but the language, Usagi’s expressions, and her reaction to the truth seem to imply that she thinks Seiya is suggesting something more intimate. - In the episode with the beach monster when Chibi Chibi opens up the door and pushes Seiya over on to Usagi, Usagi is the one who, again, assumes Seiya is up to No Good, despite it being a complete accident and innocent on Seiya’s part. - In the episode where Seiya spends the night at Usagi’s because she’s alone and Seiya very nearly confesses who she is to Usagi while they’re in her bedroom, it is Usagi who believes that Seiya is going to confess to having a crush on her. - Later in that same episode, when they are hiding in the cabinet and Seiya again thinks about confessing her true identity to her, it is Usagi who thinks Seiya is about to suggest something intimate. In fact, throughout the season, it is everyone from Usagi, to the other girls, to single-episode characters, to even Luna who think that Seiya is going to suggest or attempt illicit activities with Usagi, and not Seiya. It is all but explicitly stated that Usagi is attracted to Seiya. Not just because of the implications of her assumptions, but also because she is scolded over it. In fact, Rei tells her that she needs to sort her feelings out. Haruka and Michiru forbid her from seeing Seiya because she has Mamoru. She may not love Seiya the same way, but she is attracted to her and she does love her (and Usagi being attracted to other people is not a new thing.) Let’s look at the softball episode, because it’s ... pretty problematic and people often point to it as being one of the episodes that paint Seiya as some creepy stalker who can’t just take a hint and tells everyone that Usagi is her girlfriend. It is Rei who thinks that Seiya training Usagi in softball is inappropriate (let’s remember that it is Ami who thinks that something illicit is going on with Seiya and Usagi in the bodyguard episode...) because Mamoru is Usagi’s boyfriend, not Seiya. It is Sonoko who insists that Seiya’s “relationship” with Usagi isn’t acceptable, and it is her that places the bet that if Seiya’s team loses, she’s not to associate with Usagi anymore. Seiya agrees because she’s competitive, hates to lose, has confidence in herself and Usagi, and knows that Sonoko is wrong. When Usagi tries to interject about the actual nature of their relationship (that they’re not dating,) it’s the girls who shush her because they’re expecting Seiya’s team to lose and that will give them the opportunity to make Seiya feel better. I want to touch on the “Seiya knows Sonoko is wrong” part. I think what a lot of people don’t think about is that when Sonoko placed this bet and openly stated her disapproval of Seiya spending time with Usagi, Sonoko was attacking Usagi’s worth as a person. She was openly saying that Usagi wasn’t good enough to be hanging out with Seiya in any capacity. Seiya took issue with this because she obviously believes and knows differently. She values Usagi as a person. Who is Sonoko to decide who is and isn’t good enough to spend time with her? Seiya is not approaching the situation with entirely selfish motives, unlike the girls who fed into the Seiya/Usagi romance for the hopeful eventuality of them being able to comfort Seiya after a loss when she’ll be forced to stop hanging out with Usagi. She uses this situation to help bolster Usagi’s confidence in herself. That doesn’t change the fact that the bet is stupid to begin with, but it is what it is. Oh, additionally ... Seiya doesn’t tell the school that she and Usagi are dating. Them dating is an assumption that Seiya simply doesn’t correct. It’s worth noting that if she did correct that assumption, it would feed into Sonoko’s declaration that Usagi isn’t good enough to be with Seiya. 4. “Seiya tried to make the rooftop scene about herself and used it as a way to try to take Mamoru’s place in Usagi’s life.” This whole entire scene is consistently misinterpreted and has all of the context ripped from it, because that is not what that scene is. No, it 100% was not the best time for Seiya to ask that question (and no, it is not “can I take his place?” that she says,) but people tend to forget that Usagi is not the only vulnerable person in this scene and it isn’t just about her. It is Seiya who triggers Usagi’s emotional breakdown on accident, and in these moments she is watching the person she loves crumble into pieces. The rooftop scene is about both of them and the context makes that clear. Up until this point, the only person who knew that Mamoru wasn’t keeping in contact with Usagi was Seiya. None of the girls knew, none of them. Imagine the amount of trust Usagi had to have in Seiya in order to share that incredibly sensitive information with her and with no one else, not even her closest friends. Usagi had told Seiya a whole 13 episodes before this one, and since finding out Seiya tried her best to make Usagi happy and to keep her mind busy. It isn’t until a few episodes after this that everyone including Seiya finds out that Mamoru is dead. So Seiya spends all of this time believing that Mamoru ditched Usagi when he moved overseas and that he’s a horrible boyfriend who obviously doesn’t care about Usagi. This is naturally hurtful to Seiya, who grows to genuinely like and love Usagi through the season. She cares for her and doesn’t want to see her in pain, which is why she does her best to help Usagi feel less alone. There is no point in the season where Seiya’s intentions are to maliciously shove herself into Mamoru’s place in Usagi’s life. She has no idea who Tuxedo Mask is. She had no idea that throwing the red rose - her own personal trademark - was going to trigger such an emotional response from Usagi. So here they both are on this rooftop in the middle of the pouring rain. Usagi’s breaking down over how alone she feels, and Seiya’s suddenly faced with the realization that not only did she cause this breakdown, everything she had been trying to do to help her wasn’t working and she failed again. She couldn’t save her system/planets, 99.9% of her people are literally dead because she wasn’t strong enough to save them, and she and the other two members of her team had no idea where their princess was or even if she was okay until the episode before this one. Immediately after the destruction of everything they knew, the Starlights had to flee to an alien planet with alien people, disguise themselves, and pander to a bunch of complete strangers that salivated over, stalked, and harassed them, all while searching for their princess  and fighting the minions of the person who ctrl+a ctrl+x’ed their home system. She had no time to process any of the unimaginable loss and failure she had suffered through. When people talk about the rooftop scene and about how Seiya “makes it about herself,” this is everything they’re forgetting. When Seiya is asking Usagi if she isn’t good enough, it isn’t Seiya trying to weasel her way in, it’s Seiya both coping with her own numerous losses and trying to remind Usagi that she’s there for her. In the end, Seiya is the one that Usagi credits with being able to get herself through everything she was dealing with.
