Sometimes, your mate reminded you of a cat.

Not all the time, of course. He loved swimming, smelling his herb garden, and he quite frankly thrived in freezing temperatures, likely due to a side effect of his bloodline limit. In those regards, he was very human.

And yet now, as you watched him lounge on the window seat, naked and stretched out, languishing in the sun, you couldn't help but draw a comparison.

Haku had a kind of aura that drew others in, lulled them into a sense of security and safety, like a siren at sea, and as his mate, you were not the exception to that power.

You were supposed to be cleaning up. Only one of the two large bags of nesting supplies were clean, and none of the back up supplies were out yet, but Haku's power was too strong. When you heard the little contended purrs that he was letting out, you simply couldn't resist approaching him.

"The nest is almost ready for rebuilding," you said gently, crouching down by the window seat and resting your cheek on the smooth, warm skin of his bare waist. You pressed a kiss there and Haku hummed in delight.

"There's no rush, I'm quite happy here." Haku stretched languidly, grumbling pleasantly at the stretch. "The sun is so lovely today."

Yes, you thought, amused, definitely a cat.

"Not as lovely as you."

Haku smiled, his stomach jumping in amusement under your cheek. You pressed a couple more kisses to the heated skin before sitting upright. His hair was still damp from his earlier bath and you couldn't resist running your fingers through it, careful to avoid tugging on any tangles.

"How are you feeling?"

"Amazing," he breathed, closing his eyes again.

"Are you sure?" you asked, still stroking his hair. "Your heat was more intense than usual this year, and if I'm tired, you must be."

He laughed lightly, "I'm sure I'm fine, stop worrying so much, silly." He turned his gaze back towards the window, seemingly happy to gaze at his much loved garden.

You remembered the first ever nest Haku had built when he moved to Konoha. Well, you hadn't been allowed inside it at the time, but you remembered him speaking about building it inside his wardrobe. Wardrobe's weren't an uncommon place for omegas to utilise for nest building, but for Haku it had been a sign of his anxiety in a new place.

Now, here, he seemed so much more at home, where nature bled through to where he was nesting, where he could bask in a cool summer's breeze and warm patches of sunlight. The idea of him being contained in a small, dark wardrobe didn't feel right at all.

You had provided this den, this home, for him, and he felt safe here. Your omega felt so safe, he could lay naked, in front of an open window, at one of his most vulnerable moments. Your stomach clenched, as every instinctual part of you purred in delight.

"Just call me back over when it's time for me to rebuild the nest," he said, yawning. "I might take a nap here."

You ran your hand from his hair, down his body, appreciating the subtle curves and grooves as you went, "Okay, darling, have a good nap."

"I will." His beautiful eyes fluttered closed. He was the picture of contentment.

You nuzzled into his neck, placing one final kiss on his newly refreshed mating mark, before stepping away to continue washing the soiled fabrics of his nest.

They'll hold your hand and tell you silly stories to keep you (and themself) distracted until it's over

Sooo I was just "lol" at the "Sarumi accidentally married" ask and it occurred to me... Do you know Kyou Kara Maou? What about Misaki as the protagonist who goes to another, magical, world, and then meets this complete jerk of a prince with amazing powers (you know, you already have "hiko" in you name Saru lol). First Misaki tries to befriend him because wow you're awesome and all that, but of course Saru just can't help but to be a snarking idiot mocking him all the time and at one point Misaki is angry enough to impulsively slap him on the face. It wasn't a really strong slap or anything, but now everyone around is staring at them with the most absolute surprise, and Saru looks so utterly shocked that Misaki actually feels a little guilt while being like come on it wasn't THAT big of a deal right

Turns out is WAS that big of a deal because Yata Misaki, the foretold traveler from another world destined to save this kingdom, has just officially offered marriage to prince Fuhimi Saruhiko.

…I am honestly a little upset that this one didn’t cross my mind instantly XD Imagine normal human teenager Yata Misaki is skateboarding one day when he sees these bullies cornering one of his upperclassmen, Munakata Reisi. Yata doesn’t care for that guy but he hates bullies too so he steps in to stop them, Munakata promptly takes his leave and Yata ends up being grabbed by the bullies instead. They decide to punish him by sticking his head in the toilet and the next thing Yata knows he’s been flushed into another world where he’s immediately attacked. He’s saved by Mikoto, who serves the palace and was taking a nap in the bushes when Yata arrived, Yata’s immediately amazed by all Mikoto’s cool powers. Yata gets informed that he’s actually a demon himself and is in fact the prophesied Demon King come to save their country from ruin and strife. 

Obviously Yata’s mind is pretty blown by all this info (and also kinda upset that he doesn’t seem to have any cool powers yet). All the demons he meet seem pretty cool though so Yata’s not too upset about it…until he’s taken to the palace, where he’s told all about how the previous Demon King basically looted the kingdom before running off and he gets to meet that King’s only son, Fushimi Saruhiko. Fushimi’s immediate reaction is that isn’t Yata awfully short for a Demon King, Yata’s like who is this asshole that thinks he can talk back to the King huh. When he finds out Fushimi’s a prince Yata can’t believe it, like aren’t princes supposed to be cool and handsome not asshole nerds like this guy. Fushimi was instrumental in getting the kingdom back into shape after Niki’s disastrous rule so he’s still an important person in the palace though and Yata’s told to try and be on good terms with him, there’s info about their territories and such that only Fushimi knows how to deal with.

Yata can’t believe he has to get along with this jerk but he’s like fine I’ll try. At dinner a few nights later Fushimi is seated at Yata’s right hand and imagine them bickering the whole time, Yata calling Fushimi a little kid for picking his vegetables out of his food and Fushimi mocking Yata as a useless stupid human. Fushimi ends up making some terrible remark about Yata’s mom and Yata can’t take it anymore, someone needs to teach this guy a lesson, and he reaches out and proceeds to slap Fushimi in the face. There is a very long silence, Yata’s advisor Kusanagi just facepalms while his other advisor Totsuka starts clapping, happily congratulating Yata on finding a fiancée so quickly.Yata’s like wait what, Kusanagi quickly hustles the mortified Fushimi away as Totsuka gets to explain that slapping someone in the face is how you propose marriage in their country and Yata has now officially engaged himself to Fushimi.

Yata’s like what the fuck kind of country is this I take it back as Kusanagi walks in with a sigh and tells Yata he can’t take it back, that would be an affront to Fushimi’s honor. Yata decides well I’ll just talk to him and get him to refuse, when he goes to Fushimi’s room it’s clear that Fushimi is both annoyed but also confused because he doesn’t want to marry anyone, he doesn’t need Yata’s pity trying to marry him just because his dad was so awful. Yata had no idea about any of this and it feels awkward to try and take back the proposal now so he just quickly says that well, he thought Fushimi was kinda cool too and Fushimi clicks his tongue all I don’t need a compliment from you, why would I want to marry such a loudmouth shrimp. Yata’s like oh yeah asshole well you’re my fiancée now so just deal with it, Fushimi taunts him again and before he knows it Yata has basically been accidentally baited into reaffirming his engagement with the guy he didn’t even think he liked.

Moth - Has a crippling fear of hairy caterpillars, he flies behind the nearest friend for safety, yelling for help XD generally this is Husk who is then left to remove the caterpillar from the scene XD once the caterpillar is removed, Moth is fine and will act real tough about it. He also hates the ocean, too wet and too big. No one is scared of Moth until it's too late (18 Strength)

Husk - Husk has a lot of trauma after spending over a year in a wizard's tower and things that remind them of that time will sometimes cause them freeze up. Until recently their coping mechanisms have been pretty unhealthy; reckless behaviour and distractions but recently, thanks to Yikes and the party, they've been trying to work through things in a more healthy and peaceful way :> Husk plays up the big bad scary fey angle very well, they are pointy and mean XD

🥝 What does a bad mental health day look like for your OC? Walk us through it with them. What kind of things can help them out of this slump and what kinds of things comfort them when they start to feel like this?

Moth - Moth wears his heart on his sleeve, if he's upset everyone knows it XD usually self care for Moth is eating a large bowl of strawberries or sweets of some kind and taking a nap but sometimes he'll go and ask for affirmation from others and just drape himself over their shoulder until he feels better

Husk - They don't like to let people know when they're having a rough time (but they are getting better at that the thanks to all their fears and insecurities started dog-piling them at the same time XD). Their coping habits used to be pushing their problems out of their mind and ignoring the issue but when things are too tough they like to hide away from people and curl up under blankets, sometimes in one of their comfortable human disguises. Now they're more inclined to tell people when things are wrong and is learning how to play the flute and cook which has been wonderful distractions :> especially after seeing a vision of the end of the world and more importantly their future potential children and spouse they are having a whole ass crisis and it is ongoing XD

Moth - As a child Moth was even more energetic and curious. He was the kind of child that would ask a million questions about how the world worked but then forget the answer immediately XD Moth has never had a single regret in his life and is very stubborn

Husk - Husk was switched as a baby with a human child and grew up as one of six kids on a farm, they were a goodnatured but mischievous child that had a knack for magic from a young age and used their druidic abilities to pull pranks on their siblings. They do miss those days and wonder what would have happened if they had stayed once they had figured out they were a changeling and they miss the simplicity of their life then. The same for their time in Iljak. Husk has a long list of regrets but treats them as life lessons for moving forward

Was meant to do a mini session the other night, just do some simple interactions and stuff, it was only 3/5 of us. It was mostly just Tolus talking to Minerva about religion, he mostly wanted to learn about death because…he has died before! His feelings about death were always so eh but he was curious and wanted to try and get closer with Minerva (she called him a friend and then took it back when he got excited XDD) ANYWAY!! It was going well until all of a sudden…Artemis starts bringing up Tolus’s past. Tolus was trying to pray to the first human in Artemis’s favourite spot which is related to the first human. Tolus is unsuccessful in praying and Artemis says he should try and see what his rage is so he can harness it better and whatever. Artemis pisses off Tolus, looks to see what his rage is, finds out it related to his family/village, now they are going to the village!!!

Tolus really didn’t want to at first but Minerva convinced him to. They go get some supplies from the castle, force June to nap because Artimes overworks her xb then go to the magic shop to get teleport spells. They make a pit stop at Tolus’s old cabin so he can get some stuff he left behind then head to the village but…it’s empty…like completely devoid of life, only plants taking root on everything and anything. (We all fail investigation checks xb) They look around and can’t find anything until Minerva goes closer to the forest and finds bones… Everyone is confused, Tolus and Minerva go to the graveyard and it…looks the exact same.

Artemis eventually comes over saying he talked with some history spirit dude and…Tolus killed everyone. Women, children, EVERYONE!!! He doesn’t believe Artemis so Artemis removes whatever magic was blocking the memories and Tolus snaps. He doesn’t want to believe it, he can’t believe it, there’s no way he did it!! But the memories show it all… he starts smashing his head on a rock trying to get it to stop but Artemis freezes him. Artemis threatens that if Tolus did this through his own free will/was sound of mind/let something possess him he will be killed by Artemis’s hands, if he wasn’t…we shall see

So that’s like super cool!!! So excited to reveal the traumatic past of my character WHEN I HAVENT EVEN FULLY FINISHED IT YET!!! But whatever. I’ll hopefully finish it soon and I have most of the main points so it should be fine. I’m just…nervous XD

I’m kind of letting the DM decide what the thing that possessed Tolus kind of is. I had some input, it’s an extension of his rage and the possession was like a boil over of everything. He was trying to leave his village which you are not allowed to do and since he did it twice they tried to kill him to make an example out of him. The logistics is what I’m trying to figure out!!! It wasn’t him, he had no say and no control, period. How that works idk just yet!!! We shall see though I guess😭

I was going to say now that a cat isn't using my arm as a pillow i can post an unboxing for the dream valley vanora head, but freya decided to nap on me again xD (it's ok she's older--14 this month!-- and her health's not very good so she can use my arm as a pillow if she wants). i just need to type one handed i guess lol

so the reason the box felt so hefty when it arrived? is because this is what the box for the head looks like! cushioned and padded inside and that black outer is fabric! like damn this is a NICE box y'all (featuring uninterested inspector #2)

She came with a postcard print of Adria and one of Vanora, and the COA (also really nice. like wow dream valley lure me in with nice boxes and holo coa printing! unfortunately they're not releasing the body as a human body so i probably won't actually be getting more from them, but never say never!)

She also came with a nice pair of eyes that sadly, won't work for anyone I need eyes for and couldn't get a nice picture of, but they're a pretty purpley grey

My lack of spatial reasoning strikes again because i thought these ears were a LOT smaller xD I almost feel bad that i'll just be using them to test dye formulas

The Dream Valley White is a warm toned white more like a cream color as opposed to the paper white from Loongsoul (and Ringdoll and Charm Doll I hear, though I don't have any white dolls from them). I'll have to keep that in mind when I look at dye formulas.

These ears are SO cute! I don't think the 1/4 bunny girls have the same detailing on their elf ears, but the new jellyfish girl does i think. I think this could be really fun to paint for my Vanora, since she is a genasi and I usually draw her with some pink/ coral on her ears (like fishy fins without actually giving her more fin like ears)

I apparently have a thing for sculpts with slightly open smiles like this xD Idk i just think it's cute! and it matches the first dollmaker thing I made of my Vanora.

now I just need to figure out a body for her. Interestingly, she's listed as having an 8.6 cm neck, but when i was looking at her it seemed larger, so I thought I'd see if she could fit the 62cm Loongsoul boy body which has a 9.4 cm neck. Her head fits fine and moves ok on it, but the aesthetics don't look good to me (the neck looks too thick, and obvs it's a boy body), which is good to know and keep in mind when looking at bodies for her! Some of the 60-65 cm girls have like 9.5+ cm necks, so I'll know to avoid those ones. Also it was just generally funny xD Her head is 21.5 cm and Bai Jue (dollhua) is like 19, so it's definitely a shift in aesthetics in my bunch I'd say xD

The only thing making me waffle about it (other than there not being muscle bodies in the 60cm ish range) is that i could (should?) get a body for her and figure all that out now, or I could get a head for Faolan now and try placing a custom order for their bodies through Resinsoul at the same time (cen for him and asking if they could do a custom muscular girl body like i've seen them do with their 1/4 dolls before). The latter would potentially save me needing to dye as much (easier to request a custom body color to match the dyed head than try to dye a head to match i think) and potentially be a bit cheaper, but if i get her sorted now, then i can customize her and potentially have better luck getting a switch head in milktea rose for him if i find one i like second hand or get really lucky and they rerelease Ryuzo again. Most of the dolls i've got bookmarked for him second hand are normal resin, so I'd have to dye them a light tan. Which i don't mind per se, but also milktea rose and ryuzo are really pretty xD But if I don't get something for him now...then the heads i do have marked might sell by then...and then i have to find another option! There is one head that's tan that I have bookmarked, but it has a pretty faceup already and I'd feel bad wiping it :/

Hey so today was very exhausting and as soon as I got home I literally just laid on the floor and took a two hour nap lol. I was wondering how the tfp bots (Specifically Optimus, Ratchet, and Smokescreen) would react to their human charge (platonic/ family relationship) doing the same? Like they pick them up and when they get to base and as soon as they stop to let them out, the human just opens the door and collapses on the floor in exhaustion. And when they try to move them the human just slaps their servo away or lets out a loud groan to just let them sleep XD (Sorry that this is long 🏃)

Optimus [Prime]

- The leader picked you up from work as usual - He kept the inside warm and cozy so you could rest after the intensive labour - Unlike usually, you seemed much more exhausted and seemed to disregard any conversation in favour of some shut eye - He just turned the radio to some calm music and tried to drive the less bumpy or disturbing way possible - Instead of letting you out, he transformed with you in his grip and brought you to his private space - None of the others disturbed you or him as he carried you away - One blanket pile on his chassis later you were out like a light - Optimus simply read a datapad worth of information, enjoying the casual silence you shared - The other humans and autobots could be a lot to handle, he appreciated that you made it so easy for him to care for you - Even if unintentional, your break ended up being his break too

Ratchet [Prime]

- Ratchet wasn't one to worry too quickly - But... you were more quiet than usual and showed signs of severe exhaustion - Not wanting to bother, he tried to assume the best until you got back to base - But you slumping out when he opened his door and collapsing to the floor was enough to jump start his spark - He made EVERYONE get out or stay quiet - Lays you down on the couch with a blanket while scanning you 3...4...5 times just to ensure your safety - Luckily you were fine, just low on energy - The medic looks over you nonetheless, even grabbing some water and human food to sit on the coffee table for when you woke up - " You seem quite worried, old friend " - I was assigned to watch over them, wasn't I? "

Smokescreen [Prime]

- He was so busy talking to you about his day that he didn't even realize you were half asleep and only mumbling back responses - Opens his door as usual but didn't expect you to tumble out because you were leaning on it - Pokes you like you are a dead body - " Y/n ?! " - Thought you may have been killed by something he did - But you raised your hand dismissively - Picks you up carefully and puts you on his shoulder so you aren't in the way of being stepped on by others - Gives you your dropped sweater to use as a blanket - Smokescreen really tries to stay still so you can rest comfortably but sometime he jolts or has to hold himself from doing anything brash

He'll definitely ask some questions about these bullies. Not for any particular reason. He just wants to... Talk.

And he'll also go out of his way to reassure you of your beauty and chance he gets. Not in front of his brothers though...

As the second most talkative and attention-loving out of the brothers, he definitely notices how little you talk to him, and how you stray away from social interaction and never make eye contact! she's the first friend Nat makes without Quinn's help! for her first appearance in the story, she senses the presence of A Vampire in Nat's apartment and knows Nat is a weird paranoid hermit who, to her knowledge, has never had a single person over to his apartment in the three years he's lived there....... so naturally she assumes some vampire has gotten inside somehow and is going to eat her weird neighbour lmao

she very anxiously attempts to break in and save him, and they have an extremely awkward spiderman meme moment at the door where she's like "are you ok do you need help??????" and he's like "dude what?? I was just taking a nap??? I'm fine???" then they both have the Oh I'm Staring At Another Vampire realisation at the same time

anyway, ye, Riley is very cool....... a popular gal who makes a good first impression.... polite and friendly but with a big ol' mischievous streak....

she loves bright colours and clashing patterns and zany makeup, her fashion tends to be very eccentric and bold and she gets a lot of compliments on it, that and her signature multicoloured hair, which changes frequently c:

she loves dramatic soap operas and old horror movies. she's a bit of a vampire film buff and has a running ranked list of which are the most accurate. she personally has a fondness for the really horrible monstrous scary vamp films, in a sort of jokingly self-deprecating "haha look it's me!" sort of way :c

she doesn't have a fatal sunlight allergy the same way Alex does, but still gets nasty burns and blisters pretty quick so she's mostly nocturnal too. she works as a tour guide for haunted locations and does ghost tours, basically! she also often writes about ghosts and the paranormal for little magazines or online journals.... she and Shara from ATDAO would get along so well. ghost time!

she's great with kids because she's basically a big chaotic kid herself, and great with adults because she's good at pretending she's not just a big chaotic kid xD she's bubbly and mischievous and loves a bit of good-natured chaos. she's a prankster and often takes Nat for a bit of a ride, seeing what ways she can mess with him or what silly things she can make him believe...... mostly because he's a very very very new vampire and doesn't know left from right yet lmao. but it's all in good fun :3 she's a big sweetheart and loves to fuss over her friends (of which she has a LOT)

in terms of vampiric activity, she just hangs out at shady bars and eats creeps. extremely valid. bigoted dirtbags talking a little too loudly, people slipping things in other people's drinks, dudes who get too handsy without consent or follow people home. eat more creeps 2k22. she's not always particularly subtle and quite a few humans who are familiar with her turn a blind eye when some unpleasant bastard mysteriously goes missing lmao

she knows about Quinn's reputation and has made a point to stay as far away from them as possible, n she's extremely worried about Nat being involved with them....... she doesn't want him to be taken advantage of :< she's quite terrified of Quinn and wants him to be safe! she's part of the reason Nat stops letting Quinn push him around so much, her care and encouragement definitely have a big impact on him

though Riley has a very bubbly and cheery personality, she's super fuckin depressed and extremely high anxiety all day every day. she was already an anxious human and vampirism aka "If You Didn't Have An Anxiety Disorder Before, You Do Now!" disease of course exacerbated this...... she's less prone to paranoia than most other vampires, though, probably due to her open and trusting temperament as a human

mmmm one final fun fact about Riley is that...... I always imagine she and Yvonne would get along SO well! I think Yvonne would be fascinated by Riley tbh, for...... reasons :3 well, for reasons thematically related to Yvonne's character arc, but that I won't go into here because they're still simmering in my brain and not ready to be rambled about yet!

so in my head, although Yvonne and Riley don't actually have much of a chance to get to know each other, I always think under different circumstances they could have been very good friends..... we can throw Zeke into the mix for some fun too :D

in terms of shipping with the rental car gang I'm always just like "idk just do whatever!" and Riley/Yvonne is such a good one..... have considered writing aus where [REDACTED] doesn't happen and the two get a chance to become close..... Considering his tendencies to pass out anywhere, Shuu is bound to fall asleep if you’re cuddling him. It feels weird to be acting so childish, but when it comes to his need to just take a nap and forget about the world, Shuu can’t be bothered to care too much. He’s always liked using warm, comfortable humans as living body pillows, so he tries to tell himself that this is no different. But when you’re running your fingers through his hair and he feels your chest rising and falling with your breath... it’s hard not to get the impression that he’s being way too vulnerable here. 

Reiji

His pride hates every second of behaving so childishly, but the needy parts of him that have always wanted something like this are insistent. Reiji is painfully tense even when he’s lying next to you or curled up in your lap. He feels awkward, uncomfortable, and downright humiliated, and that’s before you start rubbing his back and praising him for letting you do this. It’s at that point that Reiji more or less breaks. He has to hide his face to preserve his dignity, and he can never be made to admit to it, but he’s absolutely snuggling into you just a little bit. Don’t point it out. 

Ayato

At first, he’s as bratty as can be. If you have boobs, his face is going right in them. Being an ass about the whole situation is the only way Ayato can preserve his pride and make himself feel anything less than pathetic for wanting your attention. He loves being held and cuddled, but of course, actually saying that is beyond him. The best he can do is make cheeky remarks... and act disturbingly like a kicked puppy if you try to stop. He’s never been held like this before, and it’s getting to him. If you keep encouraging him, he’ll get extremely attached to it. 

Kanato

Once his pride breaks down enough that he’ll cuddle with you, Kanato is a leech. He’ll snuggle into your side like a child, bury his face against your shoulder, and cling to Teddy while insisting that you pet him and treat him sweetly. The closest thing to control that he can hold onto is making demands, so that he does. It’s the only way he can feel less vulnerable like this. Even so, Kanato is unfortunately likely to wind up in tears when the affection and repressed desperation start to get the better of him. Just rub his back and talk to him while he has his breakdown. 

Laito

The sheer vulnerability of the situation makes Laito incredibly uneasy. He’s used to cuddling after sex and such, of course, but being held just for the sake of it is disturbing on a lot of levels. He’s so starved of non-sexual affection that it’s getting to him. Bad. Laito is, of course, good at playing off how affected he is and pretending like he’s just fine. But in this situation, it’s all he can do to force a smile and make some perverted jokes at your expense. When you squeeze him closer and start rubbing his back, you’ll be able to hear the way his breath hitches in his chest. 

Subaru

He doesn’t deserve it. That’s the number one thing Subaru can think. It’s been years since his mother did anything so gentle, and the cuddling reminds Subaru so much of painful, long-gone memories that he can hardly take it. He gets aggressive because he doesn’t know what else to do, even though the reality is that he really just wants to snuggle into your hold and stay there until he feels less like a monster because of it. Of course, there’s no way he can let himself do that kind of thing... so Subaru winds up just lying there stiffly and trying not to do anything pathetic. 

Kino

He tries to make it casual, but that doesn’t exactly work. Kino’s childish side is apparent to anyone who meets him, but even then, cuddling up to someone like this feels like a little too much. Or so Kino would like to think. His attention-starved side gets the better of him in no time, and he’ll wind up much, much clingier than he wants to be. And of course, he’s running his mouth the whole time. Talking nonsense and finding ways to insult you is the best way that Kino can hold onto his dignity... and even that falls apart when he starts to sniffle and find it hard to keep his voice steady.

the ship drawing I’m working on is not fully finished, it has to do with Max Goof and another character, so it’s kind of a Crossover ship.

if I end up taking a long nap or just don’t feel like finishing up today or tonight, I can try to work on it more tomorrow....

which will mean I will have to put down “February 9 to February 10″

which I will have to do the same with some other half finished drawings...

like if you do a drawing last year but you didn’t fully finish it when it became next year, so you have to put the month, day and new year on to the drawing as well to sure the day and year you first worked on it and to the day and year when you fully finished it.

I wouldn’t of found out about the whole “Karmic Child” thing if it wasn’t for watching that whole video that was for Gemini, and then it caused me to get curious to try to look up info about it which ended up having me find a video that explains Karmic Children....

I still don’t know if wearing gems like a necklace or bracelet can help everyone, or it can help those who end up being born Karmic Children, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

I only take my bracelets off when I really need to, and of course I do take off my necklace but only when I have to take a bath or shower or have to go to sleep.

finding out about Greg’s past, some might take his side and agree about how his parents were “terrible”....sure Greg still has his good side, but how he parented Steven could still have it’s negative effects.

like excluding Steven, when Greg and Connie does the high-five while saying “Human beings”....or not taking Steven to the doctor for his human half.

even after getting all that money, Greg could still taken Steven to the Doctor.

I still love Steven Universe, Steven Universe Future and the Movie...

but some dark secrets you find out about some characters, it makes you see them differently.

at least Pink/Rose saving Earth and helping Gems make a new life on the planet Earth, it was in her way redemption but she still end up hurting those around her, those who loved her....

if Pink had destructive powers that happen when she got really mad and throws a tantrum, and if Steven is right about Greg being Just Like Her....

then Steven’s Grandparents might of gave him some rules for a good reason.

Have you heard of the theme “Majo Shuukai de Aimashou”(Let's Meet at The Witches' Gathering)? How about immortal witch Fushimi and Munakata/Mikoto that he took in and raised into adult?

Oh dear, is Fushimi in a place to be able to raise anybody, won’t this turn out bad XD Maybe Fushimi is a witch who lives all alone on the outskirts of a village, his father Niki was an evil witch who used to terrorize humans so Fushimi can’t show his face anywhere or else he’ll be mistaken for Niki and executed. One day he’s out in the woods picking herbs and complaining to himself about how the only thing to eat around here is gross vegetables when he hears the sound of voices.  Fushimi intends to keep walking by but then someone grabs his arm and says ‘hey, help us.’ Fushimi looks down and it’s this wild-looking red haired kid, without even waiting for an answer the kid drags Fushimi to the river where this other kid in glasses is stuck in the middle of the swollen river. Fushimi complains that what idiot would cross the river this time of year, the red haired kid shrugs and says they were running from the villagers. Fushimi sighs and uses magic to save the boy in glasses and then promptly says he’s leaving.

The kids start following him and Fushimi snaps at them to go away, he doesn’t want anything to do with other people. The glasses kid says that they should thank him for his help at least and offers to cook lunch, Fushimi hates cooking his own food so he’s like fine cook and then leave. The kids are named Mikoto and Munakata and say they’re like orphans who were being forced into manual labor for some rich guy in town before they escaped. Fushimi acts like he doesn’t care and this has nothing to do with him but somehow he can’t bring himself to kick the kids out either and they end up staying the night.

After that Fushimi becomes like a reluctant parent, he doesn’t really want to get close to these kids since they’re humans and he’s a witch and besides, who is he to parent anyone. Regardless though he finds himself protecting the kids and teaching them about medicines and herbs (well, teaching Munakata anyway, Mikoto is more interested in learning about punching things and napping). As they get older maybe the kids start to raise him in a way too, like as an immortal witch Fushimi’s time is ‘stopped’ in a sense and he’s always been this immature brat even though he’s older than most humans in the village. Munakata and Mikoto though keep finding ways to make Fushimi have to act mature, like he learns to cook and eat vegetables and even stop being rude to lost travelers who run across his house.

As Munakata and Mikoto get older though Fushimi gets more bitter because he knows these kids are just human and one day they’ll get old and die and leave him. Maybe this culminates in Fushimi kicking them out at last, being all cold to them and acting like he never cared because he can’t just sit here and become even more attached to something that won’t be permanent. But then a couple weeks later Fushimi’s house is suddenly attacked by witch hunters who mistake him for Niki and plan to cut off his head. Fushimi figures there’s no point in fighting this anymore, he may as well attack until he runs out of magic and then accept the inevitable, a witch can’t be among humans. But then at the last moment someone jumps between Fushimi and the soldiers, Munakata with his sword and Mikoto with his fists,  both grinning as Munakata notes that it seems Fushimi needs some backup.

While listening to Shuu-san and Ririe breathing softly in their sleep,

I think to myself,

that this is surely what having a family feels like.

Even if we are not blood-related,

nor belong to the same species (種族). 

From the bottom of my heart,

I considered us to be a true family at that exact moment.

I was able to feel that way, because I was simply so happy (幸せ).

Translation notes

(1) The Japanese language has the luxury of not having to specify pronouns so they don’t have to worry about giving the cat a gender. However, I feel like in English it feels better to either assign a pet as a ‘him’ or ‘her’. I don’t think the game ever tells us, but since Yui keeps on comparing Shuu to the cat later on, it felt most fitting to also refer to the cat as a ‘he’. Furthermore, it is an orange tabby which are predominantly male, I believe.

(2) While おめでたい or ‘omedetai’ might seem like a compliment, it is often used in a sarcastic/ironic way and can be used to mock someone for being gullible, stupid, etc.

(3) Literally he says ‘easy to call/say and easy to understand’. 

(4) 抱く or ‘daku’ can mean ‘to embrace’ or ‘to have sex/to be intimate’. Usually I would suspect the boys of implying the latter, but since there’s a comparison being made with the cat here, I do think it might just genuinely be ‘to hold’ here. xD

(5) いい迷惑 or ‘ii meiwaku’ literally means ‘a good bother’, which is obviously meant to be sarcastic.

Just Little Ventrue Things ~

I finished a Camarilla Ventrue run of VTMB. Mostly, the only thing Ventrue these days know how to do is Dominate, run screaming, eat hot chip, and lie, and [high falsetto voice] here’s a list of other nonsense I discovered:

PC’s name is Christina; she’s a Dominatrix because I’m bi. Her sire was one of her clients, and she’s actually very, very angry about his death. She doesn’t mind being a vampire. She’s Wiccan and part of a coven

In this Camarilla run, I decided I would only do quests given by Camarilla members. My justification was that, while Christina is intelligent and curious about lore, she focuses on tasks that immediately relate to her and her goals. She’s not curious about others; won’t go out of her way to talk to them. She’s not a bleeding heart, like my other PCs, and she believes in the Camarilla’s laws. She just hates LaCroix for killing her sire. Her plan during the game is to curry as much favor within the Cam as possible and cozy up to LaCroix so she can stab him.

Smiling Jack laughs at you if you don’t eat a rat in the tutorial. LOL. The Ventrue dialog is like “I could barely choke down the homeless man: please don’t make me eat a rat!”

Went straight to LaCroix, called him “sir,” and he name-dropped Napoleon.

LaCroix tells Christina to go visit the Anarchs. She blows the Anarchs off (Nines made a growly face, Damsel dialog yowl-exited out after I asked if she wanted to join the Cam; Skelter threatened to murder me twice). When LaCroix told Christina that, while he admired her Cam loyalty, she must listen to her enemies to understand what they wanted, it felt like he was actually being a good sire and mentor.

That’s weird.

When Christina asked for his history, he very carefully explained his lineage, like the important part of Ventrue culture it is.

Overall, I found LaCroix-being-nice-to-me extremely unsettling.

In contrast, LaCroix sounded genuinely betrayed at the end

Beckett un-himbo-ifies her

She insults Beckett on their first meeting, spitting out “What do you want, wolfie?!” I thought this was appropriate because she died like, 4 times on that warehouse mission and was Extremely Stressed And Under Duress

Beckett’s response of “Oh, you’re too young to have mouthed off to the truly old ones yet.” makes his later snide remark of “the young ones are so temperamental” 900% funnier. Yeah, LaCroix! Beckett thinks I’ve grown and am now more mature than you! XD

Missions involving sex workers hit different when you’re a sex worker.

Christina was incandescent with rage at the Brotherhood

Grout’s mansion mission was a lot of “I have no interest in this nonsense.”

For the first time ever, I didn’t kill anyone during the Museum quest! This is because Christina ran very fast and Dominated every guard as quickly as possible. Every single fucking guard knew she was there, but could do nothing about it, because they were dancing. The door to the sarcophagus locked (it will do this if too many guards are agro), but locked doors are no match for noclip hack.

Entertaining image of a tall woman absolutely blasting into this museum room and Beckett tackling her to the floor like wait! I must snark at you! You are legally obligated to speak with me!

Isaac is still somehow a pretty chill guy to work with if you’re Camarilla.

Christina didn’t visit VV or Ash. Interestingly, Ash didn’t show up at the hunter monastery later. Did he just die in his club? Is he still there, waiting, deciding?

Seriously, Dominate is ridiculously powerful, hooooly shit. I get why people like it. I also like it when people do things I ask them to do.

Christina can’t sneak, but she CAN strongly encourage everyone to choke on their own tongues.

Very high contrast in the beginning of the game: 2 punches would knock her over, but anyone she spoke to would obey immediately and without question

Chinatown goes by ridiculously fast if you can’t sneak and don’t do any sidequests besides Mitnick’s.

For the first time ever, Zhao survived! This is because Christina made him take a nap.

This is definitely a glitch, but Christina brushed up against Caine, and a worried voice said, “Are you all right?” It sounded like the same voice actor, but a higher pitch?

Always nice to think about Caine demonstrating care

Christina asked Caine who he is, and Caine replied that he “gets people where they’re going. [He’s] a driver,”  which is a nice nod (lol) to both his literal job as a driver and as a shepherd/creator/god to Kindred. Caine creates and makes fate.

Caine triple checks with Christina that she’s sure Strauss won’t betray her. Thanks, Vampire Dad. :’D

For some reason, only other Ventrue guarded LaCroix’s tower. I wonder if this is intentional. Like all the other Camarilla Clans backed Strauss and left? So only LaCroix’s Ventrue lackeys remain? Anyway, it created some weird moments where Christina fought her double.
