I don't get people.

Why do you read a fic you obviously won't like because you don't like the main couple and then leave a rude comment. And just to be a complete asshole, block the author of said story so they can't reply to you.

People seriously suck sometimes. Why read something you don't like? Why comment if you have nothing nice to say? And why not even giving me a chance to reply to you? How miserable and cowardly does one have to be? Seriously!

What is so difficult about the concept don't like don't read and don't be an asshole for no reason.

Write your own damn story instead of bringing down the mood on my stories.

Seriously the one thing I can say is the Canarrow people are all really nice, positive and encouraging people. While my limited experience with Olicity people was rather negative, except for one who's a complete sweetheart and loves my Canarrow fic and doesn't mind my frequent rants and criticism about Olicity even though she disagrees with most of it. Which is how one should be. Or if you can't handle someone criticizing your OTP don't read stories that clearly state that they are not going to be the end goal.

Just move on. Don't read, don't be rude in the comments and if you are incapable of doing that, at least have the guts and give the author a chance to reply. It's the least you can do. Especially when you are too deluded to admit that Oliver loved Sara and Sara loved Oliver and claim Sara is gay and that is why she and Oliver can't be endgame. WTF?! 

There would be no Green Arrow without Sara. Their affair is the reason the Arrowverse even exists. If Oliver and Sara hadn't been involved, Oliver and Felicity would've never met.

Sorry, for my rant but this person just pissed me off and I can't even let them know because they have the audacity to block me and then comment on my fic.

Joke's on them, I let AO3 know and made a harassment claim. Should've just let me reply. Also this is not the first time they left rude comments simply because they don't like Canarrow and some of my fics have both the Canarrow and Olicity tag, because those are accurate for those stories, the main couple is always obvious though. At the beginning I could reply and they ended up deleting their comments, now they blocked me and still leave rude comments.

It is very hurtful behavior, I always get excited when get the notification from AO3 that someone commented on my fic, only to then get a very rude, unnecessary comment from someone who seems to enjoy just being mean and tearing people down. It takes a very long time to write a fic, and then to get comments like those… I don’t mind criticism, it helps me grow as a writer, but I hate the comments people make just to ruin someone’s day for no apparent reason.

I’m sorry if the reason is that the Olicity writers in general aren’t that good, because most of them are teenage girls, no offense, they are still learning and need to do it somewhere, the stories I wrote as a teen were pretty bad too, but I kept at it and have grown as a writer. It can be frustrating if the only stories you get about a couple you love are badly written ones, but that still is no reason to attack the author of a not badly written story simply for not writing the couple you want. Write your own fic if you don’t find what you are looking for. It is one of the main reason why I write, there are almost no Canarrow fics out there, which blows my mind, they are by far the best and healthiest Arrowverse couple out there.

my life was getting so sad w/o a media to chew on (recently the shows ive been into r only for a month like on & off) so I’m literally regressing & finally watching s5 of arrow. I thought I would just obsess over laurel again (but specifically e-2 laurel) but I think it’s actually Felicity???? like you KNOW the brainrot is getting bad when you search up what media the actress has been in (I watched funny story last night & it killed me, like I usually skim just for their scenes but I watched this whole thing through) anyways it’s been a year since I last watched so my memory is super fuzzy abt the earlier seasons but I really don’t wanna rewatch from s1. From old rants I didn’t really like her in s4 at some points but I’m honestly so convinced A LOT of the hatred towards her is due to misogyny (same w Iris tbh w racism thrown in)

For some further context on my recent CW posts, some history. Since I'm an spn fandom old.

Never was I a fan of the CW Network itself. I started watching SPN when the pilot aired and it was on WB. The WB/UPN merger and Ostroff era followed. Ostroff didn't understand SPN. Most of SPN fandom back then had this feeling of SPN being on a platform where it didn't belong and it wasn't appreciated, but we loved SPN, and endured.

Pedowitz era was better about supporting SPN which I'm sure won some SPN fans over. But still, there was this atmosphere of long-suffering endurance from most SPN fans. We knew SPN was the red-headed stepchild there. Even with Pedowitz's support. Despite it being one of their big tentpole series.

What changed my mind about CW's capacity for quality series, as a platform, was Arrowverse. I was already a DC fan, and I got into Arrowverse for a while.

Until every one of those shows got FUBAR'd for me and I gave up. And I was salty. Because I really loved Arrowverse. And there is no excuse for that many bad decisions on that many shows except a systemic issue with the platform.

I'm a fan of the shows. Not the platform. Not in any era. I have supported the shows, and the creatives, and often felt they deserved a better platform.

Ostroff, Pedowitz, Schwartz era--it's different flavors of fail, it's all not great. In their own ways.

So the great idealization of CW Network by the cw stans who seem to love the platform more than they care at all how the platform abused the shows they supposedly love, is weird to me.

Late Pedowitz era, leading up to the sale, improved on some of the systemic inclusion issues that had me utterly despising the entire platform. Someone at the top finally got it together and mandated better efforts. Because it was up for sale. Have to gloss it up for potential buyers.

Reminders that CW:

Never made a profit

Was WB/Viacom CBS's cheap quick way to make a buck off streaming

Would have collapsed much much sooner if not for the Netflix deal

Had shows fans adored and abused the shows and the fanbases

Had terrible substandard marketing

Little quality oversight on set life or stories

Meddled in shows in not good ways including queer censorship and how PoC were treated. Or looked the other way with toxic showrunners and their bad decisions.

Virtue signaled with its other rep while PR tire fire after tire fire flared over inclusion issues. But hey, here's a GLAAD award and look, we have all this other rep so you can't complain!!!! True intersectional rep was not valued there. This is a reflection of systemic industry wide issues, but CW was an unusually blatant tire fire that exposed them on main again and again and again.

Because it was a mess and nobody cared and it was there to make a cheap buck for WB/ViacomCBS

Made things even more difficult for creatives who were trying to tell better and more inclusive stories and were grateful for the opportunity to make TV shows at all. Sure, CW gave a lot of opportunities to new voices. And then its systemic issues ruined shows and made things harder on creatives.

Actors were mistreated often

This current era of trying to wash away classic CW problems existing whatsoever after all the justified fan rage I saw from multiple fan bases year after year after seen all the harm done.

The idealization of classic CW and denial of those issues at CW and revisionist history from people claiming to care about systemic TV industry issues continues to be surreal and irritating to witness. That erasure is actively harmful to the very cause people claim to support. By erasing that troublesome history at classic CW, that is enabling these industry issues to continue without criticism.

If you're running with "Nexstar CW sucks and is the only era it's okay to criticize" and trying to silence anyone who criticizes og CW you are not in fact advocating for a better TV industry.

Love the shows. Support the shows. The creatives.

The megacorporation does not love you. It never did.

“Clark!” you gasped, your eyes flitting over to see him grinning at you, his glasses slightly crooked as he smirked.

“That’s my name, last I checked,” He replied cockily, dipping his head down to kiss your neck again, murmuring into your skin, “What is it, honey?”.

Clark began sucking at the skin where your neck meets your collarbone as if it was becoming his sole mission to cover your body in reminders of him, leaving purple marks from his kiss along the places only you and him would see. You whined at his lips on your skin, arching your back and bucking your hips into the air slightly, pressing your body into his as he hovered over you.

“Clark, so help me, God, if you don’t move your lips further down, I might scream,” you managed to get out, fighting off another moan as he playfully licked over the now red spot he’d been sucking on.

I don’t usually get into the whole fan cast stuff as if probably suck at it tbh but when it comes to Jason I’ve seen Jensen Ackles come up along with Matthew Daddario, both of whom I love but just don’t see as Jason Todd in the slightest.

Like yes Jensen did voice Jason in under the red hood but I don’t think that’s a plausible excuse to have him play as the live action version. I love him but no.

The guy they had as Jason in titans brought a lot of emotion to the character as Jason practically wears his heart on his sleeve, but he just didn’t fit, I love him but he didn’t work.

Damian Wayne, all I can say is I hope they don’t fuck his character up bc people already do that enough with mischaracterising him to be someone he isn’t, I haven’t read comics and even I know half of the stuff ppl make up about him are bullshit.

So I just hope they get him right for DC’s sake.

There is a lot of dc characters that I don’t see a lot of actors being able to fully embody bc no one is ever going to be happy with the outcome, everyone is hard to please as they want the casting to be perfect and that’s just not possible.

I don’t watch much of the arrow verse but the actress for Laura lance? Love, love,love her. Gay as fuck for her ngl.

Now for Talia? I’ve got no clue, none at all, as I’ve said before fancasts aren’t my thing and I haven’t seen many ppl talking about how they would like as Talia tbh. If they ever do I hope it’s faithful to the comic character and not a watered down version of her but that’s asking too much apparently.

Eh, Flash is ok. First three seasons kinda sucked ass but SEASON SEVEN?! Hell, all three of the last seasons were some of the best on TV imo. Also, a dumb complaint but Barry Allen got hurt wayyyyyyyyyy too often, it was annoying af and not enjoyable to watch.

Rest of the Arrowverse was cool ig, but I really hated some of the big ships in them. Especially Supercorp, Avalance, and Olicity🙄

and back to Flash real quick-- Westallen is the worst ship in existence. They are SIBLINGS FFS

so my first foray into the Arrowverse was actually Titans which I feel like is more Arrowverse-adjacent since there's like no crossovers with that show. I started watching because I'd just rewatched 2003's Teen Titans and wanted more content about my beloved blorbos, particularly Dick Grayson, and boy was I impressed! I finished the first two seasons within like a couple weeks I think? which is big for me cause I'm really slow at going through shows lol and then while I waited for season 3 to come out I decided I'd watch Supergirl and I also immediately loved that show though it's significantly lighter than Titans, Kara is absolutely lovely as a character and I really enjoy Melissa Benoit's portrayal of her. also Alex??? I feel her in my soul, she's basically me if I was a cis lesbian lol

fell in love with Barry in the crossover episodes (he's so adorable and genuine how could I not???) so my next show was The Flash and omg season 1 was just great can't get enough it introduces almost all my favorite characters and it's just so fun!

overall the characters in all the shows are super endearing, the plotlines while sometimes a little shaky are usually at the very least fun and suspenseful, and I'm always a sucker for watching heroes learn how to balance being a hero and normal everyday life

I still have yet to see Arrow, Stargirl, Batwoman, or Doom Patrol; considering I hate the actor for Ollie I dunno if I ever will actually watch Arrow but I do like Felicity so it's up in the air lol my advice for anyone wanting to watch Arrowverse shows: pretend they all end after season 4. seriously, every Arrowverse show I've seen sucks after season 4 and it's so disappointing lol

I saw a tweet talking about Henry Cavill’s Superman and Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl. The general gist was that Benoist’s Supergirl acted more like Superman and Cavill’s Superman acted more like Supergirl, so now I want to expand on that.

First I have to clear a massive misconception, this being that Supergirl is basically just a genderbent Superman. She’s not, she’s vastly different.

Superman was somebody who grew up on Earth, and yes, he knew he was different than everybody else and it did weigh on him, however the difference is despite being an alien, he was raised here. He doesn’t remember Krypton, he was raised on Earth and therefore is essentially a superpowered human. He knows how Earth works, he knows the language, he knows the unspoken rules about everything and he can live an essentially normal life. Again, since he is super-powered, he does struggle with dual identities and hiding his powers from others, along with feeling bad when he has to keep his other life a secret, but he manages to overcome this, and is the most nice, hopeful person on Earth.

Supergirl, she’s a bit darker. Supergirl was raised on Krypton, all she knew was Krypton. She was already a teenager when she watched her entire planet and everybody on it die, and despite leaving at the same time as Clark she doesn’t catch up to him. For her, Krypton exploded a week ago, and it’s still fresh in her mind because of this. Because of this, when she comes to Earth, she’s more depressed. They’re both aliens but she’s more alien, she doesn’t know the history, culture or lifestyle of Earth, and it’s hard to relearn an entire way of life. Even though she does eventually settle in, the fact is she still is in a strange new world and her “younger” cousin is completely foreign to her. It must hurt seeing the only other person in the universe who could possibly understand you, living completely different life. Because of all this, as heroic and good as she is, she’s rather edgy and miserable.

Now about the show and film….

In Man of Steel, despite being raised on Earth like usual, Clark still acts like an alien and feels isolated from everybody, like he doesn’t belong. It’s fine for Clark to feel unlike others, he IS unlike others, but for him to act like he doesn’t know how Earth works is odd. He’s also generally much darker. He lashes out and destroys a truck because the driver was rude, he watches his Dad die because he doesn’t want his son to risk his cover, he kills Zod and destroys plenty of buildings. He’s generally unstable and acts like he’s new to Earth and doesn’t understand how things work, and lashes out because he can’t use his powers. To me, this sounds way closer to Kara than to Clark. I could see Kara lashing out and destroying a truck, I can’t see Clark doing that. I can see her destroying buildings and I can see her killing Zod if it came down to it. I cannot see Clark doing that.

Now in the Supergirl show, from what I’ve seen Kara seems to be rather hopeful and optimistic. She’s confident, she stands tall and she is basically the main hero. That’s mostly due to the copyright, so they just couldn’t get Superman meaning she was basically the Arrowverse’s “Superman” which makes sense because again… she acts more like Superman than Supergirl. Yes, Supergirl can be optimistic and hopeful, and a shining star for humanity however that’s not her main traits, that’s Clark’s. She barely feels alien in this universe and it pisses me off to no end, knowing that if they literally swapped roles it could’ve worked.

Make a show about Superman, that eventually culminates in a small Justice League kind of. (Then again there are plenty of Superman shows.) Make a film about a recently arrived Kara, who is unstable, lashes out, and becomes a hero to stop Zod before making the tough call to kill him.

Though, after all this honestly… Man of Steel still sucks and having the character be switched to Kara would only fix a few problems, a lot of them are just unfixable unfortunately.

For a while I did engage on twitter with the dc base for the Titans tv series, which I love, and can tell you from experience, it was predominantly non-stop complaining. Not saying the entire base is like that. The vocal part of it on twitter was LOUD and it was ceaseless. And they were in no mood to listen to anybody who understood story mechanics or wasn't neck-deep in hard grudgestanning.

The anti-GK trolling just feels like more of the same, plus add onto that, the anti-diversity trolls.

I'm a dc fan going way back, I have friends who are dc fans going way back, and we all share trepidation on trying to engage with dc fandom online.

So what the dc stans are doing to GK...eh I really wouldn't worry about it. It's a bunch of troll static and noise.

The ones acting in good faith will try it and if they dislike it, "eh, not that great" and spend their time on other dc products, or they'll wind up enjoying it. The trolls will make it a practice to be as loud-mouthed obnoxious and hateful as possible.

And first, they spread a false "rumor" that GK had been cancelled before it even aired. When that got debunked by the producers, and then GK got a premiere date, they goalpost shifted to "it'll be cancelled after a few eps." Some of them are going to yell IS IT CANCELLED YET over and over or HOW IS THIS STILL ON THE AIR.

It's petty ridiculous noise. I have no idea why dc standom got like this or how. I've seen lots of love and support there too, but...yeah. It's bad. I've seen the hate flung at dc creatives like Tom Taylor on twitter. It's bad.

And Gotham Knights walks into that arena with a huge bullseye plastered on its face because almost everything else has been cancelled due to WBD and network restructuring, and none of it is the fault of GK or its creative team or the cast. GK exists and that's enough for dc standom trolls to go after it.

I swear, if most dc content even so much as BREATHES, there's dc stan trolls who go after it.

Some are still looking for vengeance because Batgirl was pulled. Some are CW DC stans looking for vengeance because Arrowverse was ended. Some are Sn*derverse looking for vengeance because the universe didn't bend to Sn*derverse. Some are anti-diversity trolls. Some troll just for the sake of trolling.

Robin is a Black woman. One of Gotham's protectors is a trans man. It's an AU. If they'd used more famous legacied characters, they'd get yelled at and accused of getting them wrong, they didn't use famous legacied characters, they got yelled at for not using them.

As a wise man once said: SUCK IT and please hate watch to help with the streaming ratings.

carter regularly invites ray to his manor/mansion in st. roch more than once whenever the legends take a break. of course, pillow fights and movie nights happen often.

they often cook meals together and learn new recipes from one another. carter ensures to have non-glutten ingredients stocked before ray drops by.

and carter had shown the hawkcruiser to ray, who gawked it with such awe. but their joy rides do not go well. and ray offers to fix it up with him.

carter was usually hesitant about ray's team bonding ideas but once he did it, he genuinely enjoys it a lot.

they often go outside at new restaurants to check out ala this comic panel.

at some point in a mission, both carter and ray used 'shawn' and 'gus' as accidental alliases. the team, especially len, didn't let them live it down.

ray tries helping carter to wind down whenever he can. being a source of comfort and support bc he can tell he gets exhausted a lot. carter finds ease whenever he's around, feeling that he doesn't need to be responsible every two seconds. that it's okay to be a bit of a goof and relax.

carter tends to help ray concentrate whenever on any important task. with his prescence, ray can have a clear mind and complete the job well. and bc of him, he learns to be a bit smoother than he'd usually be. when he does it on a mission, the team gets shookth.

they often purpose having flying races at empty areas, where no one can see them. carter probably won most of them bc of nth metal, of course.

as a trio, they'd probably get on any team's nerves. and people often assume carter 'a bad plan is better than no plan' hall has the main braincell. when actually, it alternates or they don't share it properly, lmao.

after kent's death, ray immediately offered comfort to carter. he'd never dare to replace kent but he'll try his best to be there for him in his grief. bc losing a best friend sucks and he understands.

just these two being genuine friends, who take care of each other and show affection. maybe as much as ray + nate does even if carter might have difficulty. but once it gets easier, carter eventually expresses his affection for ray, who gladly reciprocates.
