Creator Spotlight: @themetalhiro
Hi, I’m Metal! I’m a freelance artist from good ol’ New Jersey. My favorite things to work with are a lot of bright colors, exaggerated poses, and candid scenarios. I try to farm sensible chuckles whenever I can, so I’m also big into comics. I love making them about my life, and the media I’m into, and one day I’d like to publish my own series! Thank you to everyone who has gotten me this far!!
Check out Metal's interview below!
Did you originally have a background in art? If not, how did you start?
I guess so! It’s funny, I don’t remember a single time in my life that I wasn’t drawing as a hobby… somewhere in middle school (a little late, I know.) I put the pieces together that animated movies were made by artists, and that it wasn’t just for fun, they were paid to do it. The moment I discovered people could be paid to make art, I decided I would do that, too. Now I’m here!
How has your style developed over the years?
I think the best way to answer this would be with an example! Over the last few years, I have made more of an effort to draw more intentionally, which sounds silly. Now, I put more thought into my poses and step out of my comfort zone with shape language and composition. I had a phase where I drew everyone with a huge, perfectly circular head and no nose. That definitely did not lend much variety...
Which 3 famous artists (dead or alive) would you invite to your dinner party?
Ack! I’m so terrible at history! I’d love to give a well-thought-out answer about fine artists of old, but I don't think we’d have much in common… Most artists I admire and who have driven me forward creatively are the people behind comics I’ve read. Andrew Hussie, Bryan Lee O’Malley, Eiichiro Oda... these guys have inspired me greatly and had a heavy influence in developing my art style and sense of humor. I’d love to ask them questions about their processes and upcoming projects. I think it would make for an entertaining night!
Over the years as an artist, what were your biggest inspirations behind your creativity?
Outside of pure aesthetics like searing bright colors, layered clothing, and loud noises…. the best and most inspiring moments in my life were those surrounded by friends and loved ones! I cherish the hell out of memories of hanging around in fun locations, trying weird food together, and impromptu midnight walks... so I try my best to capture that atmosphere and my own memories in my work when I can, even if I’m imposing fictional characters on top of them. That’s always the core of it.
What is a medium that you have always been intrigued by but would never use yourself?
I would never permanently refuse a medium, but every time I pick up clay, I’m like a baby using its hands for the first time. Absolutely dreadful. If one day I could make and paint a figurine like the ones I admire in videos, that would be awesome... But for now, I’m not counting on it.
How do you want to evolve as a creator?
I’ve had an absolute blast drawing fanart over the years, and it’s certainly played a massive role in my growth as an artist. But my dream has always been to publish my own stories for y'all to enjoy! I have lots of worlds I want to introduce to you before I’m old and gray. I want to get faster, work harder, and get better at drawing interesting settings so I can get the wheels turning as soon as possible. I also want to stop avoiding the color blue like a coward.
What do you wish you knew when you first started out creating art that you know now?
Pay your taxes quarterly. Tablets will break at the exact moment you need them most, so have a spare. Wear your blue light glasses. You’re going to need to wear a brace on every joint on the right side of your body. It can be lonely sitting at your desk all day. The car on the side of the road that costs $1000 cash….. don’t trust it!!!
Who on Tumblr inspires you and why?
@cranity—They use absolutely beautiful colors and weighty line work. Everything looks so sharp and clean! I wanna put it all up on my wall!
@vewn—Their ability to crank out quality short films and illustrations packed with detail is incredible. The off-kilter perspective they use really sells disorientation and catches your attention like nothing else.
@nelnal—They have absolutely banger character designs again and again, I can’t believe one person’s mind can come up with so many creative ideas!
@jinx88kc—They have a beautiful and recognizable style, and the way they incorporate animation into their illustrations sometimes is SO cool!
Thanks for stopping by, Metal! For more of Metal’s work, follow their Tumblr, @themetalhiro! If you haven't seen their Meet the Artist piece, be sure to check it out here!

You're my Coffee
Shouta Aizawa x Pro hero/Teacher! Reader
Summary:
After a distressing call from a Japanese hospital, you learn your friend Nemuri Kayama (Midnight) has briefly awoken from her coma and is desperately screaming for you.
She makes a final request: take care of her students if she doesn't survive.
So you pack your bags and move to Japan, only to find the students at U.A. High School traumatized by the Hero War. Aizawa is struggling to help them, and Nezu is overwhelmed trying to find therapists while managing international scrutiny over the students' involvement in the war. Aizawa panics when Nezu informs him of your arrival, as your hero profile is so blank he can't find decent information about you, despite your international headlines.
Your start is rocky, worsened by your initial deception of pretending to be his new student. The students are unsure what to make of you, but they’re drawn to their new pretty art teacher and soon so is their handsome grump of a teacher.
With the media down his neck, Nezu offers you a deal: Get the kids to seek therapy, you to graduate with your psychology doctorate. Aizawa’s catch: If you fail or harm them, you walk away from being a therapist and hero altogether.
All while facing your own trauma, and the affections of those strange cats...
Tw: PTSD and mentions of violence and mental distress.
Song: SZA - Good Days
----------------------Chapter 1: Who are you?------------------------
The day had been a rare opportunity for the new Class 2-A to unwind and explore the vibrant shopping district surrounding U.A. Academy. With a Saturday all to themselves, students scattered across the mall, relishing the chance to indulge in personal interests and bond outside the confines of their classrooms.
In the heart of the bustling mall, the comic store beckoned with its colorful displays and eager customers. The windows were adorned with colorful posters of heroes in dynamic poses, and the entrance was flanked by life-sized statues of popular heroes. The air inside was thick with the scent of new books and the faint buzz of fluorescent lights overhead.
Izuku Midoriya, his face lit up with joy, led a group consisting of Ochaco Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui, Tenya Iida, Shoto Todoroki, and himself towards the store's entrance. They were drawn by the promise of hero memorabilia and the back to school discounted prices plastered all over the building.
Hey, kids gotta ball on a budget!
As they entered, the store buzzed with energy. Fans of all ages flipped through graphic novels, their fingers brushing the glossy pages, while others scrutinized shelves stocked with hero-themed merchandise—action figures, posters, and keychains, all meticulously arranged to catch the eye. The walls were lined with shelves, each packed to the brim with comics, some new, others worn and well-loved. A few children darted between the aisles, their laughter mingling with the murmur of conversations.
Izuku gravitated towards the section dedicated toToshinori, his eyes wide and scanning for any rare collectibles he might have missed. The rows of action figures stood proudly, their detailed designs catching the overhead light. Posters of All Might in his prime covered the walls, Izuku's gaze lingered on each one, and his eyes softened.
"Hey, Izuku, check this out!" Ochaco's voice rang out, pulling him from his reverie. She held up a keychain featuring a miniature All Might in his signature hero pose, the small figure almost glowing in her hand. "Isn't this adorable?" She smiled brightly, the corners of her eyes crinkling with joy.
Izuku's face brightened, his eyes widening as he stepped closer to examine the keychain. "That's awesome, Ochaco! I wonder if they have any figurines or posters I haven't seen before." He began to peruse the shelves again, his fingers trailing lightly over the edges of the boxes as he searched for something new. His gaze darted from one item to another, his excitement slowly giving way to disappointment as he realized there were no new All Might items to add to his collection.
Izuku sighed softly, the sound almost lost in the ambient noise of the store. His rewards points burned a hole in his pocket, the card resting in his hand as he glanced around the store, hoping for a hidden gem.
The sweet old lady store clerk noticed his dilemma and smiled warmly at him. "Can't find what you're looking for, young man?" She had allowed the Izu-crew to browse before offering her assistance.
Izuku shook his head, feeling a bit crestfallen. "Not this time, Mrs. Sakamaki. All Might stuff tends to sell out quickly." He shuffled slightly, one hand slipping into his pocket as he spoke, the other still clutching the rewards card.
Mrs. Sakamaki, was a sweet old lady store clerk with a kind smile and gentle demeanor. Her silver hair was neatly pinned back, and she wore a cozy cardigan that seemed to match the warmth in her eyes.
Mrs. Sakamaki's eyes twinkled with a mischievous glint, a knowing smile playing on her lips. "Well, how about considering something new? Have you heard about Charge Bomb? She's quite the rising star, you know." She leaned in slightly, as if sharing a secret, her voice full of enthusiasm.
Izuku's head tilted slightly, curiosity evident in his tone, and interest piqued, " Charge Bomb? "
Mrs. Sakamaki nodded enthusiastically, her smile widening as she reached behind the counter. With a practiced hand, she retrieved a medium-sized figurine of Charge Bomb, complete with her signature explosive star emblem and perching pose.
The figure was expertly crafted, capturing the details of the hero’s ebony mask and cloak. "She's gaining quite a fanbase lately. People say she's as electrifying as her powers!"
Izuku hesitated for a moment, his eyes tracing the details of the figurine in his hand. The weight of it was reassuring, and he could feel the craftsmanship in every groove. "I've heard a bit about her. She seems really strong." He turned the figure over, examining it closely, the gears in his mind turning as he considered adding it to his collection.
Ochaco teased him lightly, nudging Izuku with a playful grin. "Come on, Izuku. Even if All Might isn't here, you can expand your horizons a bit!"
Tsuyu ribbited in agreement, her lips quirking up in a small smile. "Ribbit. Midoriya, you might discover a new hero to admire." Her eyes twinkled with amusement as she watched Izuku's inner debate unfold.
Izuku chuckled sheepishly, feeling the support of his friends. "Alright, alright. Charge Bomb it is. Thank you, ma'am." He offered Mrs. Sakamaki a grateful smile as he handed over his rewards card, the anticipation building within him as he added the figurine to his growing collection.
"This Charge Bomb figure is incredible," Izuku exclaimed, his eyes wide as he examined the action figure in his hands. He was doing that mumbling thing and they were happy to see him geek over something other than All Might. It was good to see him like this.
He needed this.
"Yeah, but she seems so distant, like she's always avoiding questions in her interviews," Ochaco remarked, her gaze shifting to a nearby display of hero-themed posters. She reached out to adjust one that had slipped slightly out of place, her fingers brushing the paper lightly.
"She's probably just focused on hero work," Shoto chimed in quietly, his eyes scanning the shelves with detached interest. He reached out to pick up a comic, flipping through the pages absentmindedly. "I've seen her in action in some civilian videos. She doesn't waste time or energy." He placed the comic back, his expression thoughtful.
Tsuyu, standing beside Shoto, nodded in agreement. "Ribbit. Maybe she prefers a direct approach, focusing on getting the job done without unnecessary risks." She leaned over to pick up a comic featuring a leapfrog character, holding it up with a teasing smile before lightly punching Shoto in the arm for showing it to her.
Iida, who had been diligently scanning through hero strategy books, joined the conversation with his trademark earnestness. "Indeed. Charge Bomb's reputation stems from her precise tactics and adherence to hero regulations. She's a model of efficiency." His posture was as rigid as ever, but there was a spark of admiration in his eyes.
Ochaco nodded knowingly, a small smile playing on her lips. "That's part of her appeal. Charge Bomb is known for her no-nonsense attitude and her skill in taking down villains efficiently. But when it comes to interviews, she's a bit elusive. Always dodging personal questions with a touch of humor. I would love to get away with that! Those interview questions always make me so nervous." She glanced over at Izuku, her expression softening as she saw the thoughtful look on his face.
Izuku's brows furrowed slightly, a mixture of disappointment and fascination crossing his features. "It's amazing how she manages to stay mysterious even with all the attention she's getting." He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, still holding the Charge Bomb figurine as he contemplated the enigma that was this new hero.
Tsuyu, always the voice of reason, chimed in to lighten the mood. "Maybe she just wants to keep her private life private. It adds to her mystique, kero. Don't you think?" She tilted her head slightly, her wide eyes filled with understanding.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Izuku agreed with a small smile, his shoulders relaxing as he let go of his earlier disappointment. ‘ She's definitely someone I want to learn more about.’ He glanced around at his friends, grateful for their perspectives.
Their conversation was interrupted by Iida, who had found a stack of hero biographies nearby. He straightened up, holding one out to Izuku with a determined look. "Have any of you seen this? It's a comprehensive guide on hero rankings and strategies. We should study this for our next training session." His enthusiasm was contagious, and soon the group was huddled around the book, discussing its contents with renewed excitement.
Meanwhile, nearby, Eijiro Kirishima trailed after Katsuki Bakugo through the bustling mall, his grin wide and infectious. The air was thick with the mingled scents of food and perfume, and the cacophony of shoppers' chatter created a lively atmosphere. Kirishima's energy was palpable as he practically bounced on his heels, his excitement barely contained.
"C'mon, bro, let's hurry up! I wanna check out those romance novels you were talking about," Kirishima urged, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. His red hair caught the overhead lights, giving it an almost fiery glow, and his broad smile seemed to brighten the entire aisle.
Bakugo grunted in response, his usual scowl softened slightly by Kirishima's persistent cheer. He had a reputation to maintain, but Kirishima's unwavering smile always managed to crack through his tough exterior.
The corners of his mouth twitched as if resisting a smile, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of amusement. They navigated through the maze of aisles, their footsteps echoing against the polished tiles. The aisles were lined with displays of books and manga, with colorful covers vying for attention. Bakugo’s eyes darted toward a stand of novels, his expression turning contemplative as he contemplated a particular title.
Nearby, Mina and Aoyama were in their element, quoting vines and hunting for discounted products, their vibrant personalities on full display. Mina's laughter rang out as she twisted open a bottle of lotion, the fruity scent wafting into the air.
Her pink skin seemed to shimmer under the store's lights, matching the lively energy she exuded. Aoyama, ever the picture of elegance, carefully examined a row of lip glosses, each one sparkling under the lights like miniature jewels. He held one up to the light, admiring its glittering hue with a flourish of his hand.
Being a crusty bitch is a crime in their book.
"This one captures my essence perfectly," Aoyama declared with a dramatic flair, his voice lilting with confidence as he made his selection. Mina chuckled, shaking her head in amusement as they made their way toward the counter.
Denki and Sero, not far behind, were engrossed in a lively debate over their favorite music band. Their voices rose above the ambient noise of the mall, attracting a few curious glances. Denki gesticulated animatedly, his eyes bright with passion as he defended his choice. "I'm telling you, their new album is fire! The beats are insane!"
Sero countered with equal enthusiasm, a mischievous grin on his face. "Si, pero like , the lyrics in their older stuff hit harder. You can't just overlook that!" His arms crossed over his chest, a challenge in his posture as he awaited Denki's rebuttal. Their exchange was playful, filled with an easy camaraderie.
Not far off, Jirou sat quietly with Momo. Jirou’s earbuds were plugged in, the faint sound of music just audible as she perused a rack of graphic tees. Her expression was thoughtful, her fingers brushing over the fabric as she considered her options.
Occasionally, she glanced over at Momo, who was absorbed in selecting art supplies from a nearby shelf. Momo's concentration was evident in the way her brows furrowed slightly, her lips pursed in determination as she compared different shades of sketch pencils.
Near the food court, Sato and Koda were in their element, sampling soft pretzels from a nearby vendor. The aroma of freshly baked dough filled the air, mingling with the scent of warm butter and salt. Their faces lit up with delight as they bit into the savory snacks, the crunch of the pretzel giving way to soft, chewy perfection.
"I’m gonna make this back at the dorm!" Sato declared, his eyes wide with pleasure as he took another bite. Koda nodded in agreement, his usually shy demeanor momentarily forgotten as he enjoyed the treat.
In the midst of the mall's eclectic offerings, Toru and Ojiro found themselves browsing through racks of matching T-shirts and pajamas. Toru's laughter was infectious, her voice light and bubbly as she held up a pair of pajama pants covered in cartoonish animal prints.
"These are so cute! Ojiro, you should totally get a pair to match!" she teased, her invisible form barely discernible except for the clothing she held.
Ojiro chuckled, his tail swaying behind him as he examined the T-shirt in his hands. "Sure thing, these tees would look pretty cool on you," he said, holding up a shirt with a simple yet striking heart design. His expression was relaxed, content in the easy banter they shared.
Further down the mall, the Hot Topic store exuded a darker, edgier vibe. The walls were adorned with posters of alternative bands, horror movie memorabilia, and gothic accessories that attracted a certain crowd.
Fumikage Tokoyami and Mezo Shoji were drawn to the store's unique collection, their interest piqued by the array of darkly themed merchandise. Tokoyami's eyes gleamed with approval as he browsed through the selection of black hoodies and band T-shirts, Dark Shadow flickering in and out of view as it reacted to the ambient darkness.
Shoji, towering beside him, was more methodical in his approach, carefully examining each item before making a decision. His multiple arms moved with practiced efficiency, picking up and setting down items as he weighed his options. There was a quiet intensity to his movements, his nature calm but intensive.
Hitoshi Shinso, the newest addition to Class 2-A, stood nearby, quietly observing the array of mystery novels lining the shelves. His expression was unreadable, but his eyes held a spark of curiosity as he reached out to pull a book from the shelf. The cover was dark and foreboding, promising a tale of intrigue and suspense. Shinso flipped through the pages, his mind already piecing together the story within.
As the afternoon unfolded, the tranquil atmosphere of their shopping expedition was abruptly shattered by a sudden commotion echoing from the mall's main atrium. The cheerful chatter and the hum of activity were quickly drowned out by a chorus of panicked voices.
Shoppers and storekeepers alike scrambled to escape the center of the chaos, their hurried footsteps reverberating through the marble floors.
"What's going on?" Shoto asked, his voice low as his eyes narrowed, instinctively sensing something was amiss. The cool air around him seemed to grow colder as he prepared for the worst.
Izuku's gaze darted towards the source of the disturbance, his expression sharpening with determination. "Something's happening. We need to check it out!"
With a unified nod, they abandoned their purchases and hurried towards the scene, their training as future heroes kicking in instinctively. They weaved through the bustling crowd, the throngs of people parting in their wake as they sprinted toward the mall's open space. The vibrant colors of store signs and displays blurred around them as they closed in on the source of the disturbance.
When they emerged into the atrium, the sight that greeted them was one of utter chaos. A villain stood at the center, their body crackling with electricity, causing nearby electrical appliances and lights to flicker and malfunction dangerously.
Sparks flew as lights exploded overhead, sending shards of glass raining down. The air buzzed with the raw, uncontrolled energy that pulsed from the villain.
Ochaco's eyes widened in alarm. "We need to stop him before he causes a blackout!"
Before any of them could spring into action, a brilliant flash of light erupted from the villain's direction. The intensity of the glow momentarily blinded them, but when their vision cleared, they saw a figure stepping forward from the crowd—a woman dressed in unassuming civilian attire.
Despite her inconspicuous appearance, her presence commanded attention. There was a quiet power in the way she carried herself, her gaze steely and focused as she assessed the situation.
"Everyone, stand back!" she called out, her voice firm and authoritative.
Izuku and his classmates exchanged surprised glances but held their ground. watching in awe as the woman unleashed a burst of energy from her hands. Their initial confusion gave way to awe as the woman raised her hands, now crackling with energy that mirrored the villain's.
She moved with a fluid grace, her actions deliberate and controlled. In one swift motion, she unleashed a concentrated burst of energy that shot through the air with blinding speed.
The energy blast struck the villain with pinpoint accuracy, the force of it sending them stumbling backward. The villain's powers sputtered out, the crackling electricity around them fizzling as they crumpled to the ground, unconscious and harmless. The once rampant chaos that had filled the atrium dissipated almost immediately, leaving behind a stunned silence.
The woman lowered her hands, the energy dissipating as quickly as it had appeared. She remained poised, her eyes sweeping over the now-subdued scene before landing on the group of young heroes-in-training. Izuku’s breath caught in his throat, the sheer power she had displayed lingering in the air.
"Thank you for the backup, but I've got it from here," she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips as she acknowledged their readiness to jump into action. She quickly restrained the villain before pulling out her phone and called for backup, her voice calm and authoritative.
"This one's neutralized. Send a team to secure the area."
Within moments, the sounds of sirens filled the air as police and other pro heroes arrived to handle the situation. Relieved, the woman now turned to the students, her eyes locking onto Izuku's for a moment longer than the others. Her gaze was intense, as if she recognized something in him.
"You're all heroes in training, right?" she asked, her tone firm but not unkind. It was weird how her presence was both commanding and serene. The way she carried herself exuded a quiet confidence that spoke volumes about her experience.
They nodded, still processing the sudden turn of events and the display of power they had just witnessed.
"Good," she continued. "Stay out of the way and let me handle this. Head back the way you came."
Reluctantly, they complied, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. Some of them were eager to jump in themselves, but the recent war had left a few of them wary of rushing into unknown danger.
Her eyes lingered on Izuku for a moment longer than the others, a fleeting exchange that made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up in a way yet to be understood.
There was something about that look that he couldn't quite shake, a feeling that would stay with him long after they left the mall.
---
As they regrouped outside, Kirishima was the first to voice what everyone was thinking. "That was so cool to see in person! The way that off-duty pro handled it without anything getting damaged was so manly!"
"Yeah, but it's kind of a bummer our trip got cut short," Mina added, pouting a little as she remembered the bags they had left behind.
Some of the students remained quiet, their minds replaying the events that had just unfolded. The atmosphere was a mix of lingering adrenaline and reflective silence. Izuku and Bakugou, in particular, seemed more shaken than the others. The encounter had stirred memories of past battles, memories that were still too fresh to ignore.
Ochaco noticed Izuku's distant expression and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Izuku, are you okay?"
Izuku blinked, snapping back to reality and forced a smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking about how strong that lady is. It was incredible." His mind was still replaying the moment when her eyes had locked onto his, trying to decipher what it meant.
The group made their way back to U.A., the towering building a comforting sight after the unexpected events of the day. As they entered the common room, they were greeted by the sight of other classes returning to their dorms, their faces reflecting the mixed emotions of a day interrupted by the unexpected.
In the common room, Aizawa was waiting for them, his usual stern expression softened slightly by their safe return. The class brightened upon seeing their teacher, and they quickly crowded around him with excitement, eager to share their experiences.
"Dadzawa, look what I got!" Kaminari exclaimed, holding up a new band poster with a wide grin..
"Check out my new lip gloss!" Mina chimed in, showing off the shiny tube she had managed to purchase before the chaos erupted.
"I got some new hair dye!" Kirishima announced proudly, holding up the box with a toothy grin.
"One at a time," Aizawa said, raising his hands to quiet the enthusiastic students. "I'm glad to see you're all safe. Now, tell me about your ‘mall adventures’ ."
As the students eagerly recounted their shopping trip, showing off their new trinkets and purchases, Aizawa listened patiently, occasionally nodding and responding to their stories. The atmosphere was lively, the students' spirits lifted despite the earlier interruption.
Finally, Aizawa raised his hands again, silencing the room. "Alright, listen up. A new teacher will be joining U.A. while completing her Doctorate. Treat her with respect and learn from her."
Mina and Kaminari immediately perked up at the news. "More details, please!" they chorused, their curiosity piqued.
Aizawa's stern look silenced their pleas. "She will be your new art and history teacher. That's all you need to know for now."
“Ugh, lame!”
Some of the students, especially Mina and Kaminari, let out groans of disappointment. "But, Mr. Aizawa, can't you tell us a little more?" Denki pleaded, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"I understand you all have questions about the new teacher joining us," he began, “But she has asked to remain anonymous at this time. She is to arrive there in three weeks time and I expect you all to give her the same respect you give me.”
After looking around the room he sighed through his nose, “Hell, make it more respectful. Remember that you represent U.A.”
“But—” Kaminari started to protest, but the stern look Aizawa gave him made him quickly back down.
"That's all for now," Aizawa said, his tone final. "I expect you all to welcome her respectfully. Now, it's time to get ready for tomorrow."
With that, he dismissed them, and the students broke off for the evening, the lively atmosphere gradually returning as they scattered to their respective rooms. Izuku, however, was still deep in thought. As he entered his room, he carefully set up his new Charge Bomb figure on his desk, placing it alongside his other hero memorabilia.
Sitting down, he opened his hero notebook and flipped to a fresh page. His mind raced as he began sketching the mysterious woman, trying to capture the essence of her stance and the way her eyes had locked onto his. Each line he drew was careful and deliberate, his concentration intense as he tried to understand what had transpired.
As he sketched, he jotted down a few notes:
Name: Mall stopper
Quirk: Unknown, but likely related to energy manipulation.
Appearance: Mysterious, not in costume during the encounter.
Personality: Commanding presence, but not rude.
Additional Notes: Encountered at the mall while stopping a villain. Avoids citizens getting harmed.
Seemed to recognize me?
Izuku stared at the page for a long moment, his pencil hovering over the paper as he pondered the day's events.
He still had many questions, but he knew obsessing over it would disrupt his sleep schedule again.
But he knew he couldn’t sleep.
Grabbing his phone, Izuku dialed his mother's number. The dorm room was quiet, the soft hum of the air conditioner and the occasional distant laughter of his classmates the only sounds breaking the silence. His fingers tapped nervously on the phone case as he waited. It didn't take long for her cheerful voice to come through the receiver.
"Hi baby! How was your day?"
"It was good, Mom. We went to the mall and... something interesting happened," Izuku began, recounting the day's events and the encounter. As he spoke, he could hear the concern in his mother's voice.
"Just be careful, Izuku. I'm glad you're safe," she said, her tone gentle and loving.
“I promise, Mom. I’m tired of everyone thinking I’m in love with that hospital bed.” He chuckled softly, trying to lighten the mood.
Inko giggled into the receiver before her tone took a softer approach. “You know, sweetie, you can still come home when you can’t sleep. I’ll handle your teacher.”
Now the idea of his adorable mom dealing with the physical embodiment of a grumpy cat that was his teacher was tempting but he really didn’t want to put her through that.
"I know, Mom. But I’m fine, really!” Izuku replied, a small smile playing on his lips. The thought of his mother's comforting presence was tempting, but he was determined to manage on his own.
“Okay, if you say so. Make sure to get good rest tonight.”
“Goodnight, Mom," Izuku replied, feeling a sense of comfort wash over him.
"Goodnight, sweetie," she said before blowing a kiss into the phone and hanging up.
As he lay back in bed, his mind raced with thoughts of the new teacher and the mysterious pro hero. The encounter at the mall had been brief, but it left a lasting impression, fueling his curiosity and excitement.
“Who are you?” he muttered to himself, staring at the ceiling.
The moonlight cast shadows across his room, giving it an almost ethereal quality. The day's events replayed in his mind, the adrenaline and wonder still lingering.
The gentle hum of the air conditioner became a lullaby, blending with the distant murmurs of his classmates as Izuku's thoughts gradually began to quiet. He could still feel the intensity of that woman's gaze, the warmth of her presence as vivid in his memory as if she were still standing before him. The encounter had left him with more questions than answers, but those questions could wait for tomorrow.
As he lay there, his thoughts slowly settled, and the comforting warmth of his conversation with his mother began to soothe the last remnants of his restlessness. The image of her familiar smile and the sound of her voice reminded him of the safety of home, a place where he was always welcome.
He shifted under the covers, finding a comfortable position as the day's events continued to fade into the recesses of his mind. His eyelids grew heavier, the exhaustion finally catching up to him. Izuku's last conscious thought was a whispered promise to himself to uncover the mystery behind the pro hero who had left such a strong impression on him.
In the stillness of the night, the world outside his window continued to turn, but within the quiet of his dorm room, Izuku finally surrendered to sleep. Dreams of heroes, battles, and new beginnings filled his mind,
---
As the dorms settled into a quieter atmosphere, Bakugou lay in his bed, staring at the ceiling. The buzz of late-night conversations and the distant sound of someone playing music softly on their phone faded into the background. His room was dimly lit, the moonlight filtering through the blinds, casting a faint glow across his tidy desk and the posters on the wall.
Bakugou could hear the rhythmic breathing of his classmates through the thin walls, and while that used to annoy him and still kinda did, it was a comforting reminder that he wasn't alone, even in the stillness of the night.
His phone buzzed, breaking the silence. Glancing at the screen, he saw his mother's photo flash across it. With a resigned sigh, he answered, propping himself up on one elbow.
“Oi, Katsuki! I saw you on the news at the mall today,” Mitsuki's voice boomed through the phone, as loud and commanding as ever. Apparently some people had taken videos of the villain attack and he was spotted in the background.
“You need to take it easy. Remember your heart? And your arm?”
Bakugou grumbled, running a hand through his unruly hair. "I'm fine, Mom. Just a little leave-"
“Fine, my ass! Have you picked a therapist yet?” she demanded, her tone leaving no room for argument.
"I don't need one," Bakugou retorted, irritation evident in his tone. His free hand clenched into a fist, the tension palpable.
"Don't you give me that, Katsuki! You're my son, and I won't let you walk around with your trauma eating you alive," she snapped back, her fierce tone unmistakable. Some shuffling was heard in the background before a muffled “Fine!” Bakugou rolled his eyes, feeling the familiar mix of annoyance.
A gentler voice came on the line. "Katsuki, it's Dad. You know All Might and Aizawa found some really good professionals for you. You don't have to worry about your... verbal constipation with them. We understand you don't want to talk to us about it, but we love you and want you to be okay."
"The little squirt knows that already!" Mitsuki cut in, snatching the phone back. "You already know that we love you. If we didn't, we'd just let you do whatever, and you'd be a bigger asshole than you already act like."
Bakugou grumbled something incomprehensible, but his mother cut him off again. "This isn't up for negotiation. You don't have to talk to us about it, but you are going to heal, and that's final."
There was a pause, and Bakugou finally sighed, the sound heavy with resignation. "I get it, Mom. I’ll... I’ll think about it."
The line went quiet for a moment, the tension easing. "Good. We love you, Katsuki. Goodnight," Mitsuki said softly, her voice carrying a rare note of tenderness.
"Love you too, Mom. Dad," Bakugou responded, his voice uncharacteristically tender, the words surprising even him.
‘What the fuck is wrong with me?’
Katsuki watched as the line hung up and he clicked his phone off and stared back up at the ceiling, a sense of warmth washed over him. His parents' concern, though sometimes overbearing, came from a place of deep love. Even if he didn’t want to admit it.
He took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, and allowed himself to relax. The worries and frustrations of the day seemed to melt away, leaving him with a rare sense of peace.
For the first time in a while, he felt a bit lighter. Bakugou’s mind was quieter than usual, the echoes of his parents’ voices lingering in the back of his thoughts, offering a strange comfort he wasn’t used to acknowledging.
He wasn’t one to lean on anyone, not even his parents, but something about the way they’d insisted, the way his dad had gently nudged him while his mom pushed with her usual force, made him reconsider. It was a rare moment where their concern didn’t feel suffocating, but grounding. It made him think about the things he’d been pushing down, the way he’d been ignoring the nagging feelings that crept up on him in the quiet moments, like now.
The moonlight continued to cast soft shadows across his room, and the distant sounds of his classmates—now more like a comforting white noise—faded further into the background as he focused on his breathing, steady and even. Bakugou wasn’t sure when he’d started to rely on these moments of solitude to sort through his thoughts, but tonight, they didn’t seem as overwhelming as they usually did.
He’d never admit it to anyone, but the idea of talking to someone—a therapist, of all people—wasn’t as off-putting as it had been before. Maybe he was just tired, or maybe the events of the day had worn him down more than he realized.
Or maybe, just maybe , the thought of unloading some of the weight he carried didn’t seem so bad. But that was a decision for tomorrow. For now, he let the warmth of his parents' love settle in, something he wasn’t used to acknowledging but found comforting nonetheless.
Bakugou let his eyes close, his breathing slowing as sleep began to take over. For the first time in a long while, the tightness in his chest eased, replaced by a sense of calm that was almost foreign to him. He wasn’t sure what tomorrow would bring, but tonight, he was content with the knowledge that he didn’t have to face it all alone.
And with that thought, he finally drifted into a deep, undisturbed sleep, his usual scowl replaced by the faintest hint of a relaxed expression.
---
Across the dorms, a restless atmosphere pervaded the night. The air was thick with the weight of unspoken fears and lingering trauma, wrapping around each student like a suffocating blanket.
In one room, Sero and Denki were engaged in an intense game of Mario Kart, the room illuminated by the flickering screen. Their eyes were dry and heavy with fatigue, yet their determination kept them focused on the game. Sero's fingers flew over the controller, his competitive spirit shining through despite the exhaustion.
Denki leaned forward, his brow furrowed in concentration, occasionally letting out a frustrated groan when he lost a race. The game was a distraction, a desperate attempt to stay awake, to avoid the nightmares waiting on the other side of sleep. They wanted to stay awake, afraid to drift off with the lights off and let the flashbacks creep in.
Down the hall, Jirou sat cross-legged on her bed, her guitar resting gently on her lap. Her fingers trembled as they strummed the strings, testing out the reconstruction of her ear. Tears streamed down her face, glistening in the soft glow of her bedside lamp.
She winced from the phantom pains, her breath hitching with each painful cramp that surfaced. The melody she played was soft and mournful, echoing the lingering trauma within her. Each note seemed to resonate with her heartache. She closed her eyes, trying to lose herself in the music, hoping it would offer some solace.
The music was a refuge, a way to express what words couldn’t—her pain, her fear, the lingering terror that her body was still recovering from. She focused on the vibrations of the strings, trying to drown out the phantom pains and the memories of the screams and explosions.
Wounds that no melody alone could fully heal.
Kirishima tossed and turned in his bed, the sheets tangled around his legs. His brow was furrowed in distress, and beads of sweat dotted his forehead. He fought against the blankets as if they were the villains he’d faced, his body rigid with tension. Kiri was trapped in a nightmare, locked in a never-ending battle with a mysterious figure.
His hardened skin, usually a source of strength, offered no protection from the terror gnawing at his mind. He clenched his fists physically, his muscles tensing as he fought off the invisible enemy, but the fear remained, a relentless killer.
In another room, Tokoyami paced back and forth, his mind a storm of anxiety. The pacing was erratic, each step driven by a nervous energy that had no outlet. Dark Shadow hovered nearby, mirroring his agitation with restless flutters.
Sato, sitting cross-legged on the floor, had tried to bake away his stress, but the pile of untouched pastries on the table told a different story. The sweet aroma of cookies and cakes filled the room, a stark contrast to the bitterness of their shared unease. Sato just stared at the pound cake he had made, his eyes unfocused.
He couldn't bring himself to eat it, the sight of the cake stirring up memories of happier times that now felt distant.
How it mocked him now.
Shinsou was in Koda's room, perched on the edge of the bed. The room was dimly lit, casting soft shadows that danced gently with the movements of the little creature. Koda's gentle strokes seemed to calm not only the bunny but also the tension that had been building in Shinsou's chest all night.
Koda's touch was careful and soothing, a therapeutic distraction from the darkness that loomed over them. The bunny's nose twitched, and Koda smiled faintly, a brief respite from the weight of their worries. He would need to sneak his cat in soon.
In the kitchen, Momo and Mina stood side by side, giggling softly as they made fried egg rice, the gentle sounds offering a momentary escape.
The familiar routine of cooking offered them a small slice of normalcy, a way to focus their minds on something other than the gnawing anxiety that had settled in their stomachs. The soft clink of utensils, the sizzle of oil in the pan, and the aroma of fried egg rice filled the air, creating a comforting backdrop to their hushed conversation.
Their laughter wasn’t forced, but the enthusiasm was a mask for their lack of appetite and the anxiety that gnawed at their insides.
Momo's hands moved with precision as she flipped the eggs, her mind clearly elsewhere, but the rhythm of the task kept her grounded. Beside her, Mina stirred the rice, her usual energy dampened but still present in the jokes she told.
They had made a pact to eat together, finding comfort in each other's company. Maybe during one of these meals, they would find some semblance of peace, even if just for a little while.
In Tsu's room, the atmosphere was different, heavy with the shared weight of darkness that clung to them like a second skin. Ochako and Tsu had taken to sleeping in Tsu's room, both girls haunted by nightmares. They found comfort in each other's presence, huddled together under the covers like two lost children seeking shelter from a storm.
Ochako’s hand moved gently through Tsu's hair, her fingers weaving a calming rhythm that seemed to blend with the steady beat of their hearts. Tsu's voice, usually so strong, had softened to a croak as she whispered back reassurances, her words mingling with Ochako's in a comforting lullaby. They clung to each other, finding safety in the closeness.
Todoroki sat cross-legged on the floor of his room, his hands resting on his knees as he tried to meditate. His mind, however, was a war zone, haunted by the image of his brother's burnt remains being hauled to prison and the knowledge of his parents' impending divorce. His scar throbbed painfully every time he thought about it, the physical reminder of his family's turmoil adding to his mental anguish. He took deep, measured breaths, trying to calm the storm inside him, but the images persisted, a relentless assault on his peace.
In another room, Aoyama sat hunched over, clutching a pillow tightly against his chest. He was allowed to stay at the school, but now he used tactical weapons, a constant reminder of the shame he felt. Tears streamed down his face, his muffled sobs filling the quiet room. The guilt of his actions, the sense of betrayal he had inflicted on his friends, weighed heavily on him. He whispered apologies into the night, his voice cracking with each word. The moonlight that spilled through his window bathed the room in a cold, silvery light, but it did nothing to lift the darkness that had settled over his heart. He didn’t deserve their forgiveness.
Iida scrolled through pictures of him and his brother, his heart aching with every swipe. The blue light from his phone screen cast a lonely glow in the dark room, reflecting off his foggy glasses. He wanted to call his brother, to hear his voice, but hesitated, worried about not appearing strong. He didn't want to burden anyone with his feelings, even though he longed for the comfort of his brother's voice. He clenched his jaw, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill over, the weight of his responsibilities pressing down on him.
Elsewhere in the dorms, Toru and Ojiro were connected by a fragile thread of comfort, falling asleep together on the phone. The silence was comforting, but they would panic if they couldn't hear the other breathing. Hatsume had finally made Toru a suit that would protect her and disappear with her during combat, but Toru hadn't wanted to put it on for a long time. They both dreaded the return to classes, haunted by the visions of devastation and innocent lives lost. The phone line crackled softly, their breathing synchronized in a fragile connection that kept their fears at bay.
Mineta and Shoji sat quietly in Shoji's room, each lost in their thoughts. Shoji's large hands rested on his knees, his eyes distant as he stared at the floor. The memories of past battles and the fear of suddenly losing his classmates gnawed at him relentlessly. It was a fear that clung to him, insidious and ever-present, like a persistent bug he couldn't shake off.
Mineta, usually boisterous, was unusually quiet. The usual sparkle in his eyes was replaced by a haunted look, the guilt of his past behavior towards Mt. Lady and Midnight, and his female classmates, feeling icky and disgusted for treating them so pervertedly when they almost died weighed heavily on his conscience. The near-death experiences they had all faced brought him a new perspective, making his previous actions feel vile and unforgivable. The shame and regret twisted in his stomach, making it hard to meet Shoji's gaze or anyone else's.
The silence between them was heavy, but their presence provided each other a small measure of comfort.
The dorm was filled with a heavy silence, each student grappling with their own demons. Despite their proximity, they felt isolated in their pain, struggling to find a way to heal from the scars of the war. The evening stretched on, each tick of the clock a reminder that the night was still young.
And then there was Shouta Aizawa, awake in the stillness of the night with little Eri asleep in his arms. The soft, flickering light from the children's show on the television cast a gentle glow across the room, creating a cocoon of warmth and tranquility. Eri, nestled against his chest, was fast asleep, her breaths coming in gentle, rhythmic intervals.
Aizawa's fingers moved softly through her hair, the silky strands slipping through his touch as he offered silent reassurance with each stroke. He knew he should tug her into bed, but he couldn't bring himself to do it just yet. He needed a few more minutes with her warm presence, a reminder of the fragile yet resilient life he was entrusted with.
Aizawa's eyes wandered to his laptop, the screen dark and waiting. He sighed, knowing there were reports to review and emails to answer, but he decided it could stay shut. The digital demands of his work could wait; this moment with Eri was too precious to cut short.
His thoughts drifted to you, the new hire who had been a topic of much discussion. He didn't know much about you other than what Nemuri had mentioned before in passing and now in her lucid moments before slipping back into her coma.
He was visiting that night when Nemuri awoke and kept screaming your name, an indication of some message he didn't yet understand. You were coming over from somewhere outside Japan, and your media stunt piqued his curiosity.
Your hero name had made national headlines a few months ago when you openly condemned the world government for letting the villain situation in Japan deteriorate to the point where high school students had to step in as heroes in an interview. This statement had sparked national outrage, the impact of your statements was still reverberating throughout the world.
Parents, politicians, teachers, pro heroes, retired heroes, activists, universities, civilians and students had reshared the clip, their responses ranging from agreement to vehement opposition. Your boldness had shaken the status quo, making waves in a community that was already shaky and possibly past its edge.
Nezu’s decision to bring you on board was a calculated move, but the details of that calculation remained elusive. As the principal of U.A., Nezu was known for his shrewd, strategic thinking. If Nezu saw value in you, it was likely due to some unique qualities or capabilities you possessed that could benefit the school in ways not immediately apparent. There had to be a reason, a calculated move that Aizawa hadn't yet deciphered.
As he continued to stroke Eri's hair, he felt a mix of skepticism and curiosity about your arrival. What could you bring to U.A. that Nezu found so necessary? What kind of impact would you have on the students?
Eri stirred slightly, her tiny hand clutching his shirt. Aizawa smiled softly, his worries momentarily pushed aside.
He knew you had been spotted in Japan several times, not just as a spectator but actively involved in aiding the capture of remaining villains and providing relief to the heroes.
Your efforts extended beyond direct action; you had initiated several charities and secured sponsorships to support families devastated by villain attacks and heroes who were affected in the line of duty. These actions had garnered you a significant following and earned you a reputation for being a force for good in times of crisis.
Yet, despite your public persona, you maintained a guarded privacy. You refused to disclose details such as your age, height, or the reasons behind choosing an all-black shroud for your hero costume, apart from its emblem. You seemingly avoided media attention, declining certain magazine features and interviews.
Instead, you channeled your "celebrity" status towards advocating for societal change and supporting humanitarian causes. It was simple, if they wanted to talk to you, they had to donate. Your reluctance to engage with the press directly and your selective disclosures raised Aizawa's suspicions and defensive instincts, particularly when it came to the well-being of his students.
He was an underground hero himself. Why so worried?
Because he knew they were all suffering.
Nezu was in the process of trying to find a school therapist team that could be on call. And it killed him that he couldn't do anything about it other than allowing trips to the mall and being there when they got back. So he did not need a 'mysterious' loose cannon of a teacher negatively affecting them in any way. Any additional information he requested was denied under your contract binding the school to not show your image, ever. As far as he knew, only Nezu and Nemuri knew what you looked like.
He valued transparency and reliability in those who interacted with his students, qualities that seemed elusive in your case. The contrast between your public deeds and private secrecy only heightened his wariness.
Eri shifted in his lap, and Aizawa decided he didn't want to think about negative things while holding her. He gently scooped her up, placing her in her own bed and kissing her forehead before tucking the covers around her and turning on her cat night light before shutting the door, but not all the way. He made sure the nightlights in the hallway and bathroom were working before he forced himself to sleep in his bed and not on the couch because it was closer.
The darkness of his room offered a semblance of peace, but his mind remained active, turning over the complexities of the situation with you. It was his duty to safeguard his students from any potential threats, and that included being cautious about new additions to their environment.
As he closed his eyes, he tried to push aside the anxieties that had plagued him throughout the day. The comfort of his own bed, the familiar surroundings, and the knowledge that Eri was safe in the next room helped to ease the tension in his head. He had seen enough to know that vigilance was necessary, but he also knew that excessive worry would not serve him or his students well.
It didn't matter if you did end up being a bad influence. He would keep a close eye on you and be ready to stop anything that would harm his class.

Alright, alright, I have this little crossover idea of sorts!
Trigun is an anime in the world of MHA, and reader is crushing on Vash the Stampede. Reader has the manga, the anime on Blu-ray, figures, a plush...
How would Izuku, Bakugou, and Mirio react to their crush having a thing for Vash, who is fictional? Would they possibly get jealous, wondering what it is about him they like so much? :3
[ I love this cross-over idea. Fuck yeah! You know, it's funny. I wrote a few headcanons between the BNHA boys and them having a plushie a long time ago. I think the reader being obsessed with a fictional character, Vash in this case, is awesome and quite relatable. I honestly have to say I'm in love with Vash from the 1998 animated series, he is just so cool and I'm also currently reading the manga which is just mind-blowing. ]
His words were stolen from him when he entered your room to see endless amounts of manga, plushies, and even figurines of Vash the Stampede. Although given his collection of All Might merchandise, he knew he couldn't judge. But he also couldn't stop himself from feeling the tiniest bit jealous.
"W-what is it about t-that guy that makes them a-admire him…so much?" He asked after successfully convincing you to allow him to borrow the Blu-ray Trigun Stampede series collection you had. He didn't understand why you liked the characteristics Vash displayed but nonetheless jotted them down in his notebook as he watched.
Unfortunately, the attempts to display the same characteristics he saw to capture your attention were unsuccessful, and honestly, he felt a little pathetic about trying to be someone he wasn't. Plus, the look on your face made him feel like a bigger idiot than he was.
"I d-don't know what I was thinking…" he whined, pressing his head against his desk. "Will they…l-like me like they do V-Vash?" It was pitiful to think he was jealous of a fictional character.
"Perhaps you are approaching the problem incorrectly," Tenya suggested. "While the feeling of affection can extend to…fictional aspects, I'm certain that Y/n is aware of reality and will look at you the way you desire as long as you remain yourself." He wasn't sure how much faith he put in Tenya's words but knew he was right. Comparing himself to Vash wasn't going to get him anywhere.
Accepting something was the hardest thing but given that he was once the quirkless boy who dreamed of being a hero, he would face this issue the same way. He could accept it but not for long. He'd prove he was better than Vash The Stampede and then maybe…just maybe you'd see him as your hero.
"Tch, reading a lame manga, huh!? How stupid!" He remembers those words from his middle school years, and how you would always huddle in the corner with a stupid smile as you read 'Trigun Maximum.' The thing that years later became your obsession.
"What the hell is all this shit!?" He demanded. "This is worse than that damn Deku's room!" You had shelves filled with manga, and Blu-rays, not to mention plushies of the same character scattered around. "You shouldn't be obsessed with fictional dumbasses that swing guns around! I'm the only badass here!" And he'd prove it.
His jaw clenched tighter and tighter whenever he was in class, hearing you go on and on about your love for Vash. How cool and handsome he is, how amazing he is in combat. Damn, he hated it. He would never admit he was jealous, but what made Vash better than him!?
"What do you mean I can't take these!?" he demanded after irrationally barging into your room and stealing your Trigun manga collection. Nevertheless, after a heated argument, he settled for reading it in your room. "What the hell is so damn great about this dumbass?" From what he could gather Vash was nothing but an outlaw with a gun.
He didn't think his jealousy would affect him just like he didn't think his feelings for you would sway him from his dream of becoming a hero. But he found himself being fueled by the hatred of your Vash The Stampede obsession. Because of this, he grew extremely cocky during training exercises. He even went as far as shouting that he was better than some stupid outlaw which you found...odd, to say the least.
It didn't take a genius to realize you were unimpressed by his attempts and criticism of your favorite character. Yet, as usual, he'd be damned if you continued to idolize someone else when he should be the one idolized by you. Whether you liked it or not, he'd be the object of your affection next.
"Heh, wow...you really like this guy." Of course, it was an obvious statement with all the Vash the Stampede plushies, and merchandise that littered your bed and shelves. He picked up one of the plushies, staring into its blue button eyes that reminded him of his own and a strange feeling made his stomach twist. Was he feeling insecure?
"Oh, is that Vash the Stampede?" Nejire asked, pointing to the plushie Mirio held. "Huh, wait you know about him!?" He exclaimed. "Yeah, I-" He grasped her shoulders before she could finish. "What do you like about him!?" He demanded, and although Nejire didn't have a solid answer she settled for Vash's bravery and caring for others.
While Mirio was happy that he shared some favorable characteristics with Vash the Stampede, he still struggled to think of how to get your attention while respecting your love for the fictional character. How could you view him as you did Vash? Of course, he could never tell you who you could and couldn't love, but gosh wouldn't it be amazing if you did love him?
"So, what do you think!?" Mirio demanded with a bright smile. He was dressed in a red trench coat and orange glasses, the key pieces of clothing Vash wore. "You like Vash, right? I sure look like him now, wouldn't you agree sunshine?" To see your eyes light up when you looked at him, even in the silly little cosplay he was wearing, meant the world to him.
He convinced you to hang out with him and took you to a special area resembling the setting where the Trigun show took place. It was part of a beach, with endless sand everywhere. He wanted to impress you while respecting your feelings, and maybe make you have feelings for him. Overall, your reaction was so-so.
Despite his jealousy, and his somewhat successful attempts at trying to sway your attention away from Vash the Stampede and onto him, he wanted you to be happy. "Heh, who knows, maybe I will be their Vash someday!" Until then, he'd just keep smiling.

Stealing is Not the Answer, but It Could Be
Pairing: Shawn Spencer x Detective!reader
Characters: Shawn Spencer, Detective!reader, Burton "Gus" Guster, Chief Vicks, Carlton Lassiter, Buzz McNab
Warnings: Fluff, humor, Shawn being Shawn, Gus and reade being besties, Shawn trying to use his Shawn psych, Shawn trying to steal something, reader putting Shawn in his place, Shawn and Gus doing shenanigans
Word Count: 615
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You walk into the department, aiming for chief Vicks office when you hear an alarming statement from your favorite chaotic duo.
“Sometimes I think it would be easier to steal something than ask for it,” Shawn blurts out.
You owlishly blink, wondering if you heard that correctly.
“That is both frightening and alarming, Shawn.”
He turns to face you, putting on an innocent face. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to disagree.”
You look over his head to see what his buddy’s expression is. “Gus?”
He nods, gesturing to you. “I’m with her.”
“What? Gus? Aw, come on.”
He shakes his head, “I am not agreeing with you on stealing. Last time I agreed with you, we wound up in jail.”
“That was here though!”
He turns towards Shawn, “Lassie kept us there for five hours.”
“Yes, but then Buzz let us out.”
Gus shakes his head, “no, I’m not going back in there.” He stands up, whispering in your ear, “I almost had to pee in front of the other people locked up. You know how I feel about that.”
You nod, patting his shoulder to comfort him. “I know, Gus. I know.”
“Well, this has been nice.” Shawn tries to slip past you, “I’ll be off now.”
You shake your head. “Not so fast.” You hook your arm in his and pull him back. “Where do you think you’re going with the chief's favorite figurine?”
He yanks his arm from you, “how dare you! How could you even- okay, that was a little dramatic even for me but look at it.” He presses his face against the fish figurine. “It’s so cute.”
You shake your head, “put it back.”
“Fine,” he sighs. “It was just a harmless little prank."
“Harmless or not, you tried to steal in a police station, how smart is that?”
“You tell him.”
“Can it, Gus.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Shawn snorts, “ma’am? What are in the 1950’s and you're the little harmless housewife?”
“No, it’s called I have respect for those who are in a higher power than me.”
You smile at him, “thank you, Gus.”
The doors open.
“Anything I can help you three with?”
“Actually-”
You cut the psychic off and grab his arm. “Nope, thanks, chief. Keep being awesome.”
You sit him down at his dad’s desk and stand in front of him, holding a pen and a piece of paper. “Now make with your chicken scratch and write, stealing is not the answer fifty times.”
He opens his mouth to whine.
“Whine and I’ll add twenty-five.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
You smile, patting his shoulders, “attaboy.”
Gus covers his mouth to hide his amusement.
“Come on, Gus. Let’s go make like Shawn’s humor and scram.”
-
“Hey! Where are you two going?”
“To get some jerk chicken and a pineapple smoothie.”
“I want to come!”
“No!”
“That sounds amazing,” the pharmaceutical rep adds.
“I know right.” You close the door only to be hit with a breeze before the car shakes.
“Here. Now let’s go.”
You grab the paper. “Wow, you already, did it?”
You look in the left corner, “wait- nineteen- this is from when we were fourteen.”
“You never specified when I had to write it.”
“Shawn that’s not- that’s actually really good, you got me.”
He lets out a victory chuckle. “See, Gus. I told you; it would work.”
You gasp, “how dare you. Gus, I thought we were besties.”
“Uh- you see the thing is-”
You shake your head, “no. I’ve been betrayed enough.”
You lean against your arm, watching the world go by as he drives, unable to hide your smile as Shawn tries to bug you and tell you it was all him.

Secret Santa w/ the Jujutsu High Students
Content: Giving Itadori, Megumi, and Nobara their favorite gifts Tags: fluff Words: 1.7k
a/n: literally my first time writing again after a year or two and also my first time actually putting myself out there and posting lol I apologize if it's messy or lengthy TvT
Itadori Yuji
I feel like Yuuji would ask for a DVD/cassette collection of his favorite movies and TV shows since he really is a “TV child” and grew up watching those. And also because DVDs/cassettes are not really a thing nowadays, it kind of gives him nostalgia to be watching the same movies he used to when he was younger.
Another thing I think he’d like is a snack basket. Just a basket filled to the brim with sweets and snacks and sodas. Just something he can eat and share with someone while he’s watching his shows.
Yuuji doesn’t ask for much and he’d be completely fine if you only managed to buy one of them or even a completely different gift. I mean, he’s basically going out every weekend in the cinemas and he’s more than capable of buying a few snacks for himself at the store. Everything else is just a bonus.
What he didn’t expect was for you to go out of your way to buy him everything on his wishlist and even gave him a meal voucher to one of the popular ramen restaurants in Japan. You know he likes rice bowls a lot and what’s better than giving him a voucher that’s worth at least three different rice bowls.
“No way! You bought all of this for me?” He exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with stars as he looked over the rack full of DVDs, a large snack basket, and a meal voucher. He could feel the tears well up in his eyes, seeing you make an effort into giving him something special.
You smiled fondly at him, chuckling softly at his lightly pouting face “I might as well, right?” You tell him so casually, as if you didn’t just crawl your way into this man’s heart with your gifts.
Without a second thought, he threw himself at you, wrapping you in a tight, almost suffocating embrace before burying his face at the crook of your neck “You’re so awesome, you know that? I was secretly hoping you were my secret santa.” He murmured softly, which you find extremely endearing. Nobara and Gojo snickered behind you and you knew you’d find yourself in the middle of another teasing session over the next few days.
As soon as Yuuji let go of you, he grabbed both of your hands, holding it in front of your chest “We should definitely stop by that ramen restaurant later! You’ve only been there once, right?” He suggested as he shook your hands excitedly like a child.
As much as he wanted to hang out with his friends this Christmas, he didn’t want to miss out on some one-on-one time with you. He’s basically begging the universe for it so he wouldn’t trade it for the world or for an extra day of training. That can wait.
Megumi Fushiguro
I feel like Megumi isn’t even interested in joining Secret Santa. Poor boy was just forced by Gojo and Itadori lol. As he’s not interested in receiving any material gifts anyways, at most he’d probably just ask for a book.
He didn’t even give you any specific book he’d want you to buy so you had to ask Gojo “Oh, he’s not really into fantasy books, if that’s what you’re thinking,” He tells you as he leaned back onto the sofa “He’s leaning more towards nonfiction novels. Like the classics, you know?”
Heading straight towards the bookstore after training hours, you decided to go for “In Praise of Shadows” by Junichiro Tanizaki, simply because the title reminded you of his cursed technique. Though, the synopsis for the book isn’t too far off from his tastes.
Giving him only the book felt empty so you decided to look for mini figurines for his shikigamis at a nearby pottery shop. You wanted to give him something to symbolize his immense care for these animals, which was one of the things you loved the most about him. In the end, you had bought a total of 10 mini clay figurines. You placed it alongside the book inside a neat box with Japanese wrapping paper and a small bunny origami that resembles one of his shikigami on top to finish it off.
When it was time to give your gift to Megumi, he was quite impressed with the way it was wrapped but kept his reactions to a minimum “Ah, thanks.” He’d say, with a hand behind his neck
Only when he opens his present will you see the visible change in his expression. He pulls out the book and the mini figurines of the Divine Dogs, his gaze darting all over it in subtle fascination.
You purse your lips, tilting your head slightly “Do you like it?” You asked him, albeit a little nervously.
“Hey! Say something, won't you?” Nobara shouted, crossing her arms at the boy “Don't just sit there and stare!”
Megumi lifted his head off your bundle of gifts as he gazed back at your smiling face, a sudden feeling of happiness swelling in his chest but he kept it in.
“It’s…nice. I like it.” He spoke quietly, as if he’s only talking to you, blocking out all of the other sounds around him “You shouldn't have bought so much.”
He wanted to say more than that but his real feelings can't be summed up in a few words and he didn't want to come off so cheesy in front of his friends.
You laughed in response, waving off his words “No, no, I want to! You seem so indifferent with Christmas and I just wanted to give you something to smile about!” You lightly teased him, knowing you would have loved him either way.
At this point, Itadori and Nobara were forcing Megumi to smile for you as a joke, poking and prodding at his cheeks like they always do.
In the middle of the teasing session, you could definitely make out a small genuine smile from his otherwise stoic face, one that's easy to miss if you’re not looking closely enough.
Later that evening, when you finally got home, you received an unexpected call from Gojo, saying “Hey, just called to tell you Megumi loved what you gave him.” He tells you “In fact, he’s arranging those figurines you bought him at his bedside table.”
Without a second thought, you could hear Gojo put his phone closer to Megumi’s room, as the faint sound of soft clashes of wood on wood fills your ears.
Gojo puts himself back on the call “Oh, and the book that you gave him? Yeah, he started reading it on the way home. Looks like you really got him this time.”
You couldn't help the smile slowly spreading across your face like a child “Really?” You say, trying not to let your voice give out what you're feeling “That’s…that’s great! Tell him to cherish it for me, Gojo-sensei!”
Unbeknownst to you, you were on speaker the whole time.
Kugisaki Nobara
Oh it was anxiety-inducing to think of what to give to Nobara. She’s a girl who knows her worth and knows exactly what she deserves. And while that was an aspect of her personality that you love and admire a lot, there’s only so much that you can do with your allowance.
Her wish list states that she wanted stylish clothing, accessories, or anything that looks good on her, given how much she loves shopping. Of course, she didn’t ask for Balenciaga or Onitsuka Tiger. She’s not that delusional.
But you can’t help as if every gift you’d think of wouldn’t be good enough for her. You only wanted to give her the best things because that’s when you’ll see her smile the brightest. And you’d probably do anything to see it on her all the time.
Over the weekend, you made a plan to go to Shibuya, going straight to the popular fashion mall, Shibuya 109. Entering one of the more affordable clothing chains in the establishment, you purchased a cute, oversized graphic tee for her. You also decided to buy her a box set of accessories like hairpins, bracelets, chains, and scrunchies.
Buying one last thing for her with the money that you have, you go to a local chocolatier and order a box of macaroons. Nobara has always been a fan of sweets, after all.
On Christmas Day, when it was your turn to give your gifts, you glanced towards Nobara who was sitting beside you before handing her a beautifully wrapped gift with a ribbon on top.
“Merry Christmas, Nobara. You’re gonna love this.” You’d sweetly say as she widened her eyes, delicately loosening the ribbon string.
As soon as her eyes landed on the top you bought for her, chic accessories, and the box of macaroons, she couldn't simply contain her excitement.
Her eyes were basically stars as she immediately tried on the shirt, twisting and turning to see how it looked “(Y/N), this is gorgeous!” She exclaimed
Opening the box of accessories next, she quickly tried on the hairclips and wore the bracelets, hurriedly trying them on all at once “Where did you buy all this? It honestly looks so good.” She asked you, a wide smile plastered on her face
You scratched the back of your head and grinned “I…I honestly went to Shibuya this Saturday. I thought I might find you something different from the shops there.”
She immediately dropped everything she was holding and perked up in interest “And you didn't bring me with you? That would have been the best Christmas gift you could give me!” She says, her warm hands immediately wrapping around yours “Then maybe you shouldn't have spent all your money on me. I heard some stores there are so expensive.”
Your grip on her hand tightened into a gentle squeeze “You don't need to worry. I got my money's worth so it’s okay, really.” You reassured her.
You could see the tears forming on her eyes, only for her to wipe it off as she pouted “Well, at least let me share my macarons with you!” She tells you before picking one from the box and feeding you a strawberry cream-filled flavor macaron.
Nobara made a promise to be the one to take you to Shibuya next time and even go as far as to spoil you, even when you told her not to.
How could she not? She’s so picky with everything but you’re the only one who seems to pinpoint her tastes so well. She’s never met anyone who could match her as good as you do so she’ll make sure to return the favor.
Happy holidays x

g e n s o - 0 1.
↪element is translated to genso in japanese, therefore y/n's nickname/future hero name is "element"
"wait up you guys..!"
the h/c haired girl yelled out of breath. "you're running too fast!" you stopped and put your hands on your knees steadying your breath. those two boys are so fast..! i cant even keep up!
"genso! hurry up! we have to be first in line for the new all might action figure!" exclaimed the ash blonde boy, katsuki bakugou, otherwise known as kacchan. "im coming!" you exclaimed picking up your pace to be beside him and the other green haired boy, izuku midoriya, otherwise known as deku.
"im so excited to get the new figurine!" deku exclaims happily, you laugh in agreement. the trio slow to a stop as they go inside the shop and find the display. "mommy! lets get it! pleaseee? i wont ask for anything else!" you begged, pointing at the shelf as deku and bakugou walked to the register with their moms following close by, getting ready to purchase the toy.
m/n grabbed the toy, "i dont see why you shouldnt get it" you smiled widely and gave her a hug repeatedly thanking her as she bought the toy. you and the two boys were smiling out of happiness, "hey kiddos lets take a picture!" exclaimed mitsuki holding up her camera. you got in between deku and bakugou and let out a big smile as the two hugged you.
well... more like just bakugou. he wouldnt even let poor deku wrap his hands around you. to him you were all his and no one else could be with you.
whats bakugous, will always be bakugous.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
"genso!" you turned and looked at bakugou, "my mom said to invite you and your mom for dinner tonight" you smiled enthusiastically, "really?? i'll tell my mommy!" you ran over to your mom and told her what bakugou told you. she smiled and agreed, so you ran over and told him you would be coming. "well.. we best head home now kacchan so I can shower and come over, i'll see you in a bit. byebye!" you wave and grab on to your moms hand walking away.
bakugou smiled triumphantly, "hey old hag! genso's coming over for dinner with her mom tonight!" he yelled, "KATSUKI BAKUGOU IF YOU DON'T STOP CALLING ME THAT I'LL PERSONALLY GO RETURN THAT FIGURINE" she screamed, unfazed at how he had invited you without her permission.
it wasn't the first time anyway.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you rang the doorbell and waited eagerly for bakugou to open the door. "oh hi there y/n and m/n! please come in!" mitsuki stepped aside and you walked in. you took off your shoes and placed it neatly in the corner, "wheres kacchan?" you ask looking around. "the brat should be around here somewh-" "GENSO!!" bakugou came running up to you and hugged you, taking both you and both parents by suprise.
you blush slightly, " h-hi kacchan..! " you hug him back, he pulls away and grabs your arm dragging you to his room. "lets go watch some all might footage!" you smile as he drags you away.
"looks like my little brat has a crush on your daughter m/n.." mitsuki chuckled, m/n just sighed and added "young love.." which caused both parents to laugh to themselves.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
you sat with bakugou on his bed watching the footage and making comments about how awesome all might is. "im gonna grow up and become a no. 1 hero just like him!" bakugou commented while punching his hand up in the air. you giggled at his action, "me too!"
bakugou turns to look at you, "your so lucky you got your quirk early! i can't wait for when i finally get mine!" you grin, "well whatever it is, i'm sure it'll be great!" bakugou jumps out of the bed, "wait here, i have something to give you!" he opens his drawer and pulls out a bracelet he made with the colors from all mights costume. you gasp, "you made that for me?" he nods as he puts it on you.
"theres the letter of your first name, a heart, and a 'k' for my name to show that i made it for you!" he exclaims, you blush and give him a hug. "thank you kacchan!" he blushes and stutters, "y-yeah, yeah.. whatever idiot..!" he pulls away and grabs another bracelet and puts it on himself. "now we can match!" he smiles and you giggle.
soon after a bunch of all might footage, mitsuki and m/n walk into bakugous room to find you laying on bakugou as he hugs you. both your parents look at the adorable sight and take photos to show you two later. "look at their wrists!" pointed m/n, "so thats why the brat was making bracelets!" smirked mitsuki, she prepared to tease him about it whenever he woke up.
m/n gently picked you up and grabbed your shoes. "we'll be going now.. thanks for the food mitsuki.. tell bakugou we both said bye!" mitsuki walked your mom to the door and waved bye as you two walked away.
her brat had a crush on you!
"oh that brat wont ever stop hearing about this!" she chuckled.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
a couple years later.. (12 yrs old)
you stand there shocked holding your acceptance letter from icaru private junior high academy. i actually got in..!
your mom and your dad congratulated you, and started texting all your relatives to tell them the good news. you were happy.. of course you were. you had just gotten into the academy you've wanted to go to for years! but that meant you wouldnt be able to go to school with bakugou and deku anymore. the amount of stress on the academics would also leave you with no time for hang outs with them.
you sighed as you facetimed both of them, mentally readying yourself to deliver the news. "why am i in a call with pathetic deku, genso?" snarled bakugou, you kept your mouth shut. it bothered you how much he had changed just because deku didn't have a quirk. "i need to tell you two something.." you paused.
"i got accepted into that academy i've been ranting about" deku smiled, "thats great y/n! congrats!" you smiled, "thank you izu..!" you looked down sadly, "but that's not what i called about.. you see, i won't be able to go to school with you guys and hang out as much now..."
bakugous eyes widened, "what?! are you kidding me genso!?" you shook your head sadly, "oh no.. y/n.." muttered deku. "i just felt like i should've told you two before i left.." you fiddled with your nails. "my last hang out will probably be this saturday, if you guys arent busy please come, okay..?" you let out a sad smile.
"of course y/n..! anything for you!" you smiled and deku left the call, leaving you with just bakugou. "and you..?" you asked. he had been concerningly quiet during the entire conversation. "i'll come but it'll be after fucking deku leaves." he ends the call, and you sigh out, blinking back your tears.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
deku came by with his mom and gave you a all might plushie to remember him by. he stayed for an hour and left after giving you a hug and wishing you luck at your new school. you sighed out, one friend down... one more to go.
bakugou came by shortly after that with his mom. you opened the door and was immediately brought into a bear hug by mitsuki. "good luck at your new school hun'. i know you'll do just fine, you're a sweet girl, anyone will like you." you smiled and pulled away looking at bakugou.
you waited for mitsuki to walk away and took bakugou up to your room. he sat down on your bed and stared at you. you sat there in quiet until he finally broke it, "do you really have to go..?" he asked quietly. you sat next to him, looking at your hands, " my parents want me to go.. i need to make them happy bakugou.. "
he handed you a printed photo. you grabbed it and your eyes started watering.
it was the photo of younger you and bakugou sleeping on each other with the matching bracelets on your wrists. "i thought you should have somewhat of a reminder of us before you go.." he mumbled.
you turned and hugged him, crying into his shirt. "i don't wanna leave you guys here and be at a new school by myself..!" he just hugged you back, trying not to show how upset he actually was. "i don't want you to go either genso.. but this is what's better for you and that's all i want."
"HEY BRAT WE GOTTA GO!" screamed mitsuki from below. you wiped your tears and stood up. "genso" he called, "promise me you'll get into UA so we can be friends again." you looked at him, "i promise i will" you repeated.
you both walked downstairs and bakugou and mitsuki left, leaving just you and your parents there. "i'm gonna go back to my room.." you mutter, heading upstairs. you sit on your bed and look at the picture of you and bakugou.
right there and then you swore to yourself you would work yourself tirelessly until you got into UA.
and that's exactly what you did.

My Transformers One Review
(No spoilers for now)
It was AWESOME, litteraly the best movie I've ever watched. It was interesting from start to finish, it was funny AND they did a great job on the important scenes, catching well the emotions of the characters. So well that I got emotional many times and cried once, that says enough. The fights were, WOW and the animation is extraordinary. Even my non-Transformers fan friend loved it (she came with me), she knows nothing about it yet she liked it.
I give it a 10/10, but in reality it's a Best Movie Existing/10. I recommend it 100%, PLEASE I NEED TO YAP ABOUT IT- Excited for the second movie...? :]
I bought a shirt, pillow and got those cups at the cinema with the lil figurines. Yeah, I loved it. I want to watch it every single day now istg LMAO
(SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT, DON'T CLICK IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED)
Ok, so, the start was super goofy especially the scene where Orion "Transformed" XD Laughed hard at that one, same with the "My finger can transform" later on. Pax and D-16 makes me sick, THEY ARE SO CUTE???? Orion even got him a Megatronus-wathever-his-name-was sticker! Which is when I understood where the Decepticons logo is from and D-16's name.
Orion is super sweet and very caring, he saved Jazz even when Elita told him to get out! I can't believe how different he is as a 'normal bot'. Same with D-16, I was surprised at how he didn't want to break protocol and all.
SENTINEL PRIME IS SUCH AN ASSHOLEEEEE! I wanted to kill him myself, understood D-16 very well.
I hate how D-16 became slowly filled with rage, slowly letting down Orion. It hurts me so much 😭 They all had the same intention, but D got so blinded by rage it went downhill. They did such a great job slowly transitioning him, dang, my heart.
B-127 (Hope I got that right) IS ADORABLE!!! I love his lil 'antennas' and goofy personality.
I was never a big fan of Elita, but I liked her in that movie.
STARSCREAM IS BEAUTIFUL-... Buttt his voice doesn't match. It does, but in a way that it's not the perfect va. When D screwed up his voice box it was kinda funny, he sounded like a girl LMAO
Shockwave and Soundwave are also very beautiful, I love them!
THE MOMENT D SHOT ORION AND LET HIM FALL MY HEARTTTT- Like, what if: Orion wouldn't have gained the Matrix of leadership? He'd still be dead and Megatron would've taken over??? Gosh, their fight was great, it just hurts so much.
In my opinion, D-16 was blinded by rage with good intention. He was brave, but wrong when he said "I have nothing else to loose". He had Orion. So, he was an asshole for doing all the things he did + becoming Megatron. I'm so sorry for Pax, their breakup broke me man 💔
IN THE END, I LOVED IT!!!

Gift Giving- An Aro Alix Kubdel Ficlet
Second Pride Month ficlet. This one taking pace in what is very clearly an early divergence AU so, the specific time doesn't matter much. 😁 This one was longer than the 750 limit, but I didn't want to shave any off so, oh well, 978 words it is.
“Should I get her chocolate? Chicks dig chocolate, right?”
“Alix, you’re a ‘chick’ too, you know.”
“Ehn, still up in the air.”
Marinette leaned around the display to peer at her friend. Alix was setting down a small gold-wrapped and expensive looking box. Caught, she snatched her hand back quickly, sticking her chin out and tilting her head up at the same time.
“What?” She challenged.
Marinette blinked, “What what? You literally pulled me here after school.” She rubbed one wrist as she looked around the gift shop and mumbled, “How do you do that on wheels.”
Alix shuffled over to some cards. “You were just going to go moon over some new pictures of Adrien anyway.”
Marinette adjusted her backpack, which completely coincidentally happened to contain the latest issue of La Verve Paris and a 10 page spread on Adrien. The scrapbooking tools already laid out on her desk at home could be for anything.
“Why me though?” She deflected.
Alix was frowning at a card she’d picked up. She opened it, made a face, and put it back down again. Her hand moved back to it, but became a fist. She let out a frustrated growl.
“Because you and Alya are like, best friends. You’ll know what she would like.”
Marinette beamed at the thought of being helpful. “Okay, you got it! So what’s the occasion?”
Alix shuffled to a shelf with some figurines on it and poked one despondently. “Three month anniversary.”
“So cool! The three month anniversary is very important. You have to-” Marinette’s brain caught up with her mouth, “Wait, whaaat?”
She grabbed Alix by the shoulders, looking her in the eyes, “Anniversary? Dating? You and Alya? How do I not know about this?”
Alix squirmed free, “I don’t know. It’s not like… a thing.”
Marinette took a deep breath, calming herself. She was fine, it wasn’t a thing, no big deal…
“When did you start dating?” She yelped.
Alix shrugged, siddling to another shelf. “Iunno. It just kinda happened. She’s cool, right?”
Marinette followed, “Cool, right, very cool. You know that, I know that, but…” she pleaded with her eyes for more.
Alix sighed and gestured vaguely. “Well, she was always running off after Ladybug -Did you know she can do some wicked Parkour?- and getting herself in trouble. I just… followed her a couple times, my wheels made it easy. I pulled her fat out of the fire, but she would keep at it. She always wanted those pictures, and the latest scoop. Nothing slowed her down. Eventually I had her give me the camera. Wheels, right? I can get in and get out. She’d want info though after an akuma so she’d spend all night grilling me. Her mom makes awesome food by the way. Since we already hung out a lot, and she’s a hottie, when she asked I said yeah.”
Alix shrugged again.
“It’s no big deal.”
It was a lot to take in, but it made Marinette smile, “That sounds so cute! A match made in danger!”
Alix grimaced.
Marinette scooted back in, taking a porcelain elephant out of Alix’s hands and swapping it with a half kilo bag of fine ground coffee and a mug that read, ‘I’ll sleep when I’m published.’ The mug had a stuffed bear stitched to look like it was sleeping tucked inside.
Alix examined the offerings, “This is good for an anniversary?”
Marinette nodded, “You see the bear is a classic and coffee she likes but it also says ‘I want to stay awake and spend more time with you’ and-”
“Ouch!” Alix had looked at the price tags while Marinette rambled.
Marinette wilted a little, “Too much? I can pick out something cheaper…”
Alix glared at the numbers a moment longer as if she might intimidate them into vanishing. “It doesn’t matter, I can kiss new bearings for my skates goodbye for a while, no matter what.”
Her expression shifted from anger to resignation, and even timid.
She asked, “She’ll like them though?”
Marinette nodded, but also tried gently to take the mug from Alix. “You know, Alya’s not like that. If it’s a problem right now, I’m sure you don’t need to get her anything.”
Alix pulled it back quickly, snapping, “Yes I do. You don’t understand.”
Marinette held up her hands, “Seriously, Alya won’t think you love her less, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Ugh!” Alix threw down the gifts.
Marinette saved the mug by a quick dive. She blinked at Alix’s back as the other girl stalked away. In five steps though she’d turned around and trudged back. She crouched and helped Marinette up.
“Sorry,” She grated, brushing Marinette off. “You don’t get it though.”
Marinette held onto the gifts, “Tell me?”
Alix pulled her cap off and ran a hand through her hair. She gave the bag in Marinette’s hand a desultory swat with her hat. “I hate this stuff. Well, not hate, I just think it’s lame. it’s all schmoopsy junk to me. Alya likes it though, and she deserves it. It’s just not easy for me. Some people know when you are just supposed to. I don’t, but I can remember dates and times. One month, three months, six months, birthdays, holidays, you get the idea.”
Alix replaced her cap and took the gifts.
“That way, she gets what she deserves, even if I don’t understand it.”
Marinette thought about that long enough for Alix to start shuffling her feet awkwardly. Finally Marinette plucked the coffee from Alix’s hands and replaced it with a card. “Write what you just told me, in here. This’ll cost you half as much and she’ll like it ten times more.”
Alix fumbled the card uneasily, opening it to the blank interior. Her features set slowly and she glanced hopefully up at Marinette, “You really think so?”

Capsize
chapter twenty | back to camp
—
Camp covered in snow was a strange sight, but not an unwelcome one. Since the climate inside the border was controlled, it always had been pretty sunny and warm. This winter, snow fell lightly like icing flour through a sieve on a cake. The cabins in the far distance were decorated with tiny flickering lights, with no visible strings, so you guessed they were some kind of magic. If camp had done this before, you hadn't been around to witness it.
The woods lit with the same circular balls of light, giving the trees a warm but slightly eerie glow. Nico, however, seemed to think everything was amazing.
"Woah!" he said, clambering down the bus steps. "Is that a climbing wall?"
"Sure is," you nodded. "Pretty cool, huh?"
"You bet! Let's go now!" He grabbed your sleeve, and you hummed.
"Uhh, we should wait a bit. I think Chiron might want to talk to you..."
"Who? Oh, awesome! Is that real lava?"
You gently pulled your arm away from Nico's hand. "Go ask Percy. I'm sure he has the patience."
Percy's deadpan brought a sly smile to your face.
The Hunters headed off to the Artemis cabin, the reason behind having it finally making sense.
"Take care, sweethearts!" Apollo called after them. One of the girls turned and pretended to vomit. Apollo turned to Percy, still standing next to the bus. "Watch out for those prophecies, guys."
You pulled a face. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Instead of answering, Apollo hopped back in the bus, standing in the doorway. "Later, Thalia. And you...I can't remember your name." Your mouth dropped in slight offence. The guy gave you serious nightmares only to not remember your name at the end of them? "Be good!"
You all looked away as he drove off. Looking back, the bus was a red Maserati instead.
Nico sighed childishly next to Percy. They both looked as equally upset, Percy a little more downtrodden than sad.
"Who's Chiron?" Nico mumbled. "I don't have his figurine."
"He's a talking horse."
"He's the activities director," Percy corrected, giving you a look. You couldn't help snickering. "He's...well, you'll see."
"If those Hunter girls don't like him, that's good enough for me," Nico grumbled.
You turned and started walking, hands in your jacket pockets. "Those Hunter girls don't like anyone."
--
You set off walking up the hill. Halfway there, you caught Travis and Connor thinking they were being sneaky, attempting to pick the lock on the camp store door. You didn't shout for Travis, just wanting to see how far he would actually get into the store.
The last two winters since being introduced to camp, you had spent with your family at home or in Sydney. Compared to the summer, camp was relatively quiet. All you saw on your walk to the Big House was a couple of Ares kids having a snowball fight at the edge of the woods.
The Big House had been turned into the perfect lounging pad. It smelt of hot chocolate and was decorated with red and yellow lights which, upon closer inspection and a humoured "try not to touch them, child," from Chiron, you figured out were real fireballs.
Inside, he and Mr. D. were playing a card game in the parlour. Mr. D. as usual was pudgy, red-eyed, and drinking a can of Coke, dealing cards like his life depended on it. Chiron's brown beard was shaggier than in the summer. His curly hair had grown a little longer. He wore a fuzzy sweater with a hoofprint design on it, and he had a blanket on his lap that almost hid the wheelchair he sat in completely.
"Ah!" He smiled. Mr. D. rolled his eyes. "You're back. And this must be--"
"Nico di Angelo," Percy said. "He and his sister are half-bloods."
Chiron breathed a sigh of relief. "You succeeded, then."
You chuckled humourlessly. "Well..."
His smile melted away when you turned your eyes back to him. "What's wrong? Where is Annabeth?"
"Oh dear," said Mr. D. in a bored voice. "Not another one lost."
He talked as if this was a perfectly normal case as a sock going missing in the laundry. Surprisingly, it filled you with anger.
"What do you mean?" Thalia stepped forward, a harsh line between her brows. "Who else is lost?"
The door behind you flung open, and a cold bout of air hit you in the back. You all turned. You couldn't help the laugh that escaped you.
"What happened to you?" you smirked, looking him up and down.
Grover had a black eye and a mark on his cheek that looked unmistakably like a slap mark. Just imagining it forced you to hold in your giggles. You met Percy's eye above Nico's head, and his solemn expression twitched. He looked away quickly.
"The Hunters are all moved in," he grinned crazily.
"The Hunters, eh? I see we have much to talk about."
"Which one slapped you?" You asked, still grinning wickedly. You couldn't help it.
"The tall one, Zoe. Ah..." he sighed, smiling like a lovesick fool.
"Grover," Chiron frowned. "Perhaps you could take our young friend to the den and show him our orientation film."
"But...Oh, right. Yes, sir."
"Orientation film?" Nico asked, looking between the elders in the room. "Is it a G or PG? 'Cause Bianca's kinda strict."
"It's PG-13," Grover said.
"Cool!" Nico dove under Grover's arm holding open the door.
When it closed, and quiet took over again, Chiron turned to you. "Now, perhaps you three should sit down and tell us the whole story."
—
You hadn’t ever taken much of a fancy to being under scrutiny. Nobody really did. But there was something about the way that Chiron blinked at you as Percy explained your poisoning and Annabeth’s saving trick that had you uncomfortable in your seat.
“Look,” you said. “I know I shouldn’t have wandered off—”
“You young ones never listen,” Mr. D. sighed, dealing out some more cards.
You side-eyed him. “But Nico and Bianca wouldn’t be here otherwise. If I had left them with Thorn, they’d have been either killed or taken to some army the guy talked about. I did us all a favour.”
“You made us lose Annabeth,” Thalia sneered. “If you had just waited for us—”
“Like I said!” You burst out, leaning forward in your seat to look at her on the other side of Percy. “If we waited any longer the kids wouldn’t be here! I mean, Bianca joined the Hunters, yes. But at least she’s alive, right?”
Chiron nodded slowly, in thought. Percy was weirdly quiet. He had this odd, solemn look on his face, and you had a feeling it had to do with Annabeth.
“Come on, guys,” you leaned back, resting your elbow on the armrest and setting your head on your clenched hand. “Annabeth’s smart. She can survive. But until then, I say we go look for her. Why wait?”
“Yes, we should start a search for her immediately,” Chiron agreed, looking to Mr. D.
“I’ll go!” Thalia burst. “The three of us will. That’s enough for a quest, isnt it?”
“Certainly not!” Your attention fell back to the old god in the corner. Your eyes narrowed. Instantly, Thalia and Percy began complaining, but Mr. D. simply held up his hand for them to fall quiet. He had this angry look in his eyes that said if they didn’t quit arguing with him, something bad and godly was going to happen. “From what you have told me, we have broken even on this escapade. We have—ah, regrettably lost Annie Bell—”
“Annabeth,” Percy bit sharply.
“Yes, yes, and you have procured a small, annoying boy to replace her.”
“She’s not an object!” You fumed.
“So I see no point risking further half-bloods on a ridiculous rescue,” he raised his voice to cover yours. “The possibility is very great that this Annie girl is dead.”
“Annabeth may be alive,” Chiron said, but you could tell he was having trouble sounding upbeat. He’d practically raised Annabeth, Percy had told you one day. “She’s very bright. If...if our enemies have her, she will try to play for time. She may even pretend to cooperate.”
“That’s right,” Thalia said. “Luke would want her to be alive.”
“In which case,” Mr. D. said. “She will likely have to be smart enough to escape on her own.”
Percy got up from the chair, running his hands through his hair. Something wasn’t sitting right with you. He and Annabeth had been on the quest last year together. They were bound to be closer after that. But he was acting like Annabeth was more than a close friend, here. The stress on his face told you a tale.
Something twinged in you, and it wasn’t worry.
“You’re glad to lose another camper!” He exclaimed, waving his hand at Mr. D. briefly. “You’d like it if we all disappeared!”
Mr. D. stifled a yawn, looking at him with bored eyes. “You have a point?”
“Yeah,” Percy ground. “Just because you were sent here as a punishment doesn’t mean you have to be a lazy jerk! This is your civilisation too! Maybe you could try helping out a little!”
For a moment, everything turned still. Mr. D’s expression changed from boredom to anger as quick as match could be lit. Just as he opened his mouth to say something—
The door flung open again, hitting the wall. You and Thalia turned.
“SO COOOOOL!” Nico roared excitedly with a lot of hand movements. He held his hands out to Chiron. “You’re a centaur!”
Chiron managed a tense smile. “Yes, Mr. di Angelo. Though I prefer to stay in this wheelchair for, ah, first impressions.”
“You didn’t for me,” you lazily cast your gaze to him.
“That was—”
“Woah!” He yelled, “and you’re the wine guy!”
Mr. D. turned his head slowly. “The wine guy?” He didn’t sound impressed. He gave Nico a look of pure loathing.
“Dionysus, right? I’ve got your figurine!”
“My figurine?”
“Yeah, in my game Mythomagic! And a holofoil card, too! And even though you’ve only got like five hundred attack points and everyone totally thinks you’re a loser, I think your powers are sweet!”
“Ah. That’s…gratifying.”
“Percy,” Chiron said quickly, while Mr. D. was caught on Nico’s comment. “All three of you go down to the cabins. Inform the campers we will be playing a game of Capture the Flag—” You groaned, and he smiled gently. “Tomorrow evening.”
“But we don’t have enough—”
“It is a tradition,” Chiron said. “A friendly match whenever the Hunters visit.”
“Friendly?” You jabbed your thumb in Thalia’s direction. She glowered. “Have you seen Thalia talk to them?”
“Yeah, they’re real friendly,” she looked like she was about to smash you with her shield.
Chiron jerked his head to Mr. D. who was caught up with Nico, still frowning as the kid explained his attack powers. “Run along, now.” He turned his eyes to you as yourself and Thalia stood. Your back popped as you stretched. “I believe Travis Stoll has been looking forward to your arrival. I suggest you drop by the Hermes cabin first. It would do all of our ears some good,” he smiled.
Percy was the first to burst out the door.
Thalia went next, and then you, rushing after your friend. You couldn’t get his anger off your mind. Anyone would be able to even feel the waves rolling off of Percy. He was livid inside, you could tell.
“Don’t listen to the old bag,” you ran up to him. “Who really gives a—”
“Why does he act like a life is disposable?” Percy fumed. “Annabeth is a person. She’s our friend. She’s not something that can be thrown out like—”
“Alright, dude.” You set your hand on his shoulder. It was hot under your own colder one. “Getting angry over things isn’t going to help. We need to use our brains and figure this out.”
The three of you slowed to a stop outside the armoury. Thalia joined your side. Percy sighed, looking out over camp.
“Sorry. I just couldn’t help it. It’s so unfair.”
The pine tree guarding camp was covered in snow, and the Golden Fleece glittered settled on its lowest branch. Your hand came up to your camp necklace, two painted beads on it now. One for Percy’s appearance, and the other for the quest they went on last year to get the fleece.
“Percy, lots of things are unfair. Sometimes I wish…” Thalia trailed. You looked at her, but she didn’t look at either yourself or Percy. She seemed in lost in a trance, some kind of memory.
“Let’s not get mopey, guys,” you settled on, trying to lighten things up. “We’ll find Annabeth. A hundred percent. Things always work out, don’t they? She’s my sister. We’re not just going to leave her wherever she is.” You looked between he and Thalia.
“You’re right,” Thalia agreed for once, shockingly. “We’ll find a way.”
The basketball court in the distance was raging. Some kids were arguing, a taller boy shoving a younger one.
“I’ll go sort that out,” Thalia said. “You guys circulate around the cabins and spread the news about Capture the Flag.”
“Alright. You should be team captain.”
You tried not to let your emotion show, but it almost always slipped on your face. Why Thalia? It felt a little childish, but why should Thalia be team captain when you were stood right here, holding the brains and the smarts strategising capabilities. Thalia had never faced camp games before—and simple as they could be, she didn’t have experience with them. If anyone had the best bet at getting the team to win, it would be someone from the Athena cabin.
Why purposely pinpoint Thalia to be the head of something, when you were standing right next to her?
“No, no. You two have been at camp longer than me. You should pick between yourselves.”
You couldn’t help yourself. You waved a hand Thalia’s way, looking at Percy.
“Right. We’ll…co-captain or something.”
CO-CAPTAIN?!
“Sure, Percy. Whatever floats your boat, man.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“It means,” you drawled. You stepped around them, heading off down the hill. “That I’m going to find Travis.”
“You’re not coming with me?” Percy frowned thoughtfully. “Meet me after?”
You threw up a peace sign and turned back around, starting your hike to find your friend.
—
Travis could be found in the most random of places. He’d told you once that maybe his love to wander was something inherited from his dad. The outdoors was a love of Travis’s.
Which was probably why, you thought, he looked bored now. You’d both retreated to your empty cabin, laying on your bed with your back to the mattress and feet on the wall. It was a bit of squeeze to try and fit Travis’s taller figure out the way of the ladder, but with your sides pressed together and your elbows knocking, you managed.
“I thought you joined them, at first,” he said, unafraid to be loud in the empty space. You guessed your siblings were out there doing something, some class. “The coat sort of sent me into shock.”
“Well,” you said, wriggling to try and get more comfortable. You hit Travis in the ribs and he knocked his bony ankle with yours. Boys were always skinny at this age—along with having great eyebrows and eyelashes. It wasn’t fair. “I heard they have to swear off of boys for life and I thought nope.”
“That’s good to know, Brains.”
You turned your head to look at Travis. He had his eyes pinned to the wall. You had one blue sock and one yellow one, while Travis’s were a plain black. The meaning of his words settled on you, and your heart jolted.
“Is it?”
He hummed. Since you’d been gone his voice had changed too, like Percy’s had. Except Travis’s was definitely deeper than the last summer. You missed his fifteenth birthday, unfortunately, but there was no negative emotion on his part. You had shipped over a kangaroo plushie for laughs, with one of those detachable hats with the corks on the edge, and a letter. He wrote back and said it was the best gift he’d ever had.
“You can’t get rid of me,” you muttered, trying to change the tension. “I’m here to stay, sorry to say.”
“Oh man, I was starting to think I’d finally gotten rid of you.”
“No such luck, I’m afraid,” you smiled.
“Damn,” you looked at him, eyes widening; he was already looking with a peaceful expression. “Guess I’m stuck with you.”
You smiled. “Guess so.”
I didn’t know where to end this, so have some Travis action. The interactions with Travis does add to the plot, don’t worry guys. It’s not completely random :D Percy x you is 100% this fic, it’s coming.

pleeease keep talking about toys...i think this is interesting and smth i've never thought too hard about but it makes sense and i like to hear your opinions on modern toys
(ask pertaining to this post)
holy shit okay !! i would love to ramble on so, i shall!
okay im no expert on toy sales history, this is all just observation from my life experiences and i'll try to keep each part i want to go over relatively short!
that being said lets start with a small one that i've personally noticed as a canadian: Kinder egg toys! i remember when they used to come with like 4-8+ pieces, and you needed the included step by step manual to assemble them. they would often come with sticker sheets to decorate them with, and they would often be articulated or be set on wheels or have some sort of fun or movement or general functionality to them:
dont those look awesome? wrapped in 2 kinds of chocolate, and for only like 2$! i remember they would come in all shapes and sizes, all sorts of animals and vehicles and sometimes freaky little abominations, as you can see above, and sometimes even puzzles! they were such a special treat as a kid.
but kinder eggs now? come with a maximum of like 3 pieces that just snap together (usually the front and back of the toy, and then the platform they stand on). and thats all they mostly are now, stiff toys that stand on platforms wahhooooo yippeee
idk just look at the quality difference from the old ones above compared to some of the new ones:
like..... these are..... nothing! literally nothing. just a figure snapped to a pole/platform and thats it! not very interesting for more than 3 minutes max.
now i know what you're thinking: "not ALL of the old kinder toys had to have been bangers" and you'd be right, some were lame as hell, but even the lame ones from before look more intricate than the ones we have now, like can you see what i mean, just detail-wise?
it just feels so cheap and shitty, i could go on and on but more is explained later. point is, it sucks.
anyway that's a very small example and we can move onto bigger and better ones, and maybe even one that everyone else might have noticed by now; McDonald's toys! remember when they were actually toys?
and not just stiff figurines?
(the minions franchise was like CRACK for companies who love making profit off of nothing but stiff rounded plastic. probably the cheapest form of "toy" i can think of)
and yeah, again, its not like there werent figurines back in the day too, there's ALWAYS been lame as hell mcdonalds toys, but looking among many modern mcdonalds toys, you dont see anything as cool as the old ones. literally every major modern movie/franchise right now is nothing but figurines. the most recent actually interactive mcd's toy ive seen is when they collabed with hasbro games
again, companies just seem to be pumping out quantities over quality.
but why?
well, for starters toys are becoming cheaper (both in price and quality) because prices have sky rocketed and stores are forced to only stock cheaper things, therefore the cheap things sell the most, and then more of them get made, and statistics get fucked, etc etc the cycle repeats.
but toy companies know one thing, and that's that things that are "cuter" always sell more. "cuter" being used with vitriol because their idea of 'cute' is 'more glitter and sparkles and rainbow colours and obnoxiousness' oh, and dont forget the huge soulless bug eyes on all of them!
i know that people love these things, but theyre so..... uncanny. their stare is piercing, their stance is so stiff, i always felt bad actually playing with the only one of these i had growing up, and not just because it freaked me out, it just genuinely didnt feel good to play with.
and i knoowwwww people are obsessed with these things, but come on, you have to admit theyre SO unoriginal! theyre just cookie cutter shapes!
these things are horrifying and, at best, belong on a shelf.
these "beany boos" are so woobified and almost feel like a flanderized version of a stuffed animal, and they've completely taken over "beanie babies", which were wonderful soft little things that actually had movement and weren't stiff to cuddle! I also feel like they're almost trying to copy what webkinz was, in a way, as some of those were stiff too (but still loveable and not burdened with an uncanny, vacant stare)
anyway this is getting insanely long and im sorry but i feel like im going insane every time i see new toys nowadays. the like.... "cuteification" of everything is driving me insane, and the fact that they are simply just lower quality than what we used to get, because of prices rising and causing easy-to-make things to become more and more popular.
examples to further prove these points:
extreme woobifying or "cuteification" by almost completely removing all horse anatomy in favour of thin limbs, heavy makeup eyes that are now on the front of her face, and modern influencer eyebrows. on a horse.
and the extreme-simplifying of toys can be seen quite well on those mini polly pocket sets!! see this one here?
almost allllll of those little plastic things could be rotated or rearranged or moved or fucked with in some manner, it was awesome. i loved these miniature houses they always came with so much shit. wanna guess what the newer ones look like?
you guessed it, like shit!!
man even beyblades used to come with like, all sorts of different pieces both metal and plastic alike, and you had to assemble them yourself and you could interchange pieces to obtain a different weight which would affect your attacks against other beyblades, etc etc:
and looking at them now? they seem to be mostly made of- yep, you guessed it, hard cheap plastic.
anyway holy shit i literally reached the 30 image limit on a single post tumblr really said thats ENOUGH !! i cant believe i just spent that long talking about the worlds most pointless thing but at any rate i hope you enjoyed it and i hope you see my vision. because like i said im not insanely knowledgeable on any of this in particular, but its hard not to notice the decline in quality of all of todays modern toys.
#i didnt even go off about the entire brand of toys that exist just to shit in a cup after you feed it chemical mixtures#and i literally cant ive talked soooo much on this post i need to go smoke weed and to go bed LOL#00#03

“I can’t believe that it’s almost time for Halloween already!” Nya comments as the two of you bring in the last of the boxes from the Bounty’s storage unit.
“It’s weird to think about, isn’t it? Feels like we were just freaked out about the fact that it was January...and now, here we are decorating for the biggest party of the year.”
“Time has been passing so quickly, hasn’t it?” Nya mumbles, sighing. “Make me wonder how fast next year will feel.”
“It has. But at least we’re going to be able to see a lot of our friends at the party this year!” you reply, taking a moment to stretch before you head over to your Bluetooth speaker. “We just need to remember to be in the moment more often. So, let’s enjoy this now! I’m so excited to see this place completely Halloween-ed out. I bet it looks awesome.”
“You’re right. We get too caught up in the future to think of the present. But yeah, I think Jay and I did a good job last year, but it’ll be even better this year since we’ve got more stuff. We also invested in different kinds of lighting to really set the mood.”
“This is going to be so much fun!” you state, grinning as you start digging through the boxes. “Let’s get started!”
With that, you and Nya set about stringing lights and decorations throughout the Bounty, at one point taking a break to turn on some Halloween music. At some point, you come across a set of custom-made decorations gifted to the ninja by fans that add an even better touch to the atmosphere you’re going for. You can’t help but be impressed at the sheer craftsmanship added to some of the handmade ones.
At first, the two of you question how you’re going to be able to fit everything without overdoing it, but that inspires you and Nya to create something of a mural along one of the walls. For some aspects, you two are able to develop a story for your decorations, even going as far to make characters and plot to accompany them. You and Nya get so into it that you don’t even hear the ninja entering.
“Hey guys,” Kai greets tentatively, the five glancing around the area. “...I see you’ve decorated.”
“We sure did,” you reply, the two of you stepping back to let the others admire your hard work.
“What’s all of this? I didn’t think we had this much stuff to decorate with,” Cole notes, the five observing.
“We didn’t until we got those donations,” Nya answers. “Come on, look at how set them all up!”
With that, the guys curiously follow you and Nya as you guide them through the Bounty:
“We decided to make a mural!” you explain, pointing to one of the walls that, at first, was mostly empty. Now, though, you and Nya had created an entire scene of horror.
“It starts here,” Nya prompts, pointing to a giant, fake spider plastered against the top right corner of the wall. It rests against a cobweb, with a plastic figurine tangled in the web. “The guy caught in the web is named Philip. He was caught while exploring an ancient temple, and then he got eaten by the giant spider.”
Jay, as expected, is completely engrossed. “No, Philip! This can’t be good. What happens next?!”
“Well...Philip’s brother, Jim, wondered what happened to him,” Nya answers, pointing to a fan-made figurine. “So, he went looking for Philip. He was able to follow his trail into the tomb.”
“That is, until Jim encountered Philip’s ghost!” you state, tapping on a stereotypical white sheet ghost made from paper. The eyes are a little wonky, insinuating that it was likely made by a child. Regardless, it’s still adorable and works for the story. “Philip warned Jim that he could not take on the spider alone.”
“So, Philip and Jim created a plan to gather a special ops team,” Nya continues. “That teams consists of three people.”
From there, you and Nya continue to recount your manufactured tale about how Philip and Jim recruit a pumpkin man, a serial killer, and a witch in order to take the spider down. It ends on a gruesome note:
“-and then, the Pumpkin Man starts eating the spider’s guts to avenge Philip!” you declare, eyes wide as you envision the scenario. “He starts slurping the spider’s intestines out like a ramen noodle!”
“But before he can finish eating all of the intestines, the serial killer stops him, stating that they need to make an example out of the spider. Since the spider was so big, he had plenty of intestines left to work with.”
“Then, with the help of the witch, the serial killer intertwined the intestines with the rope, using it to hang the spider in front of the tomb. As a result, no one ever entered the tomb again, and Philip was finally able to move on to the afterlife.”
The end!” Nya concludes, the ninja all nodding along slowly.
“O-kay,” Lloyd notes in a drawn-out syllable, eyes wide upon hearing the tale.
Jay chuckles nervously. “Well, um...I think you both did a...a great job!”
“Thank you!” you chirp. “Oh, and we haven’t even gotten to the gaming room yet! Come on!”
With that, you and Nya drag five mildly terrified ninja to explain your next story.

My Hero Academia HC'S
HC: Asking them to go harder in bed
Ft: Bakugou, Deku, and Aizawa
He's definitely harsh with you in bed but if you want him to get really fucking rough, he will. Added bonus if you get off to degrading.
"Don't ask for what you can't handle, slut." He's says while grinning, thrusting in and out of you at a maddening pace.
You end up a blabbering mess, drooling, covered in a mix of your juices.
"N-no more!! M' sorry- baby!!! I- I'm sorry!!!" You miraculously managed to moan a coherent sentence.
He stops his thrusts immediately and looks directly at you. "You want me to stop?" He pulls out, knowing exactly how you'll react.
"W-wait!" You didn't actually fucking think he was going to stop. You chase after his hand when he smacks it away.
"Great. Now I oughta teach you that sometimes, your eyes are bigger than your cunt."
Couldn't feel shit in your legs the next day.
"Isn't this what you wanted princess?" You've been going at it for hours. When you had asked him to go harder a few days ago, you didn't think he'd be like this.
"Answer me." He growled, sounds of raw skin slapping against each other.
"K-kitty! Slower~please." You moan out, he's got you folded. Lazily, but surely, fucking the living daylights out of you.
"You were asking as if I don't go hard at all. Don't tell me you've been faking." He groans as he hits a particular weak spot.
"N-never Sho'!! Ah- please slow down..!" You still managed to go to work the next day, everyone was wondering why you so suddenly had a walking stick.
Who would've thought this small little nerd could be so powerful??
You knew he had an awesome quirk but this tops it.
You're trying your best to keep your voice down but the way this little green haired bastard is fucking you makes you weak and vulnerable.
"Zuzu please!!" Usually, he'd only focus on only pleasing you, being the little generous soul that he is, but you told him your request at a really fucked up time. Bakugou and Kaminari was fucking around in the hallway and knocked into a wall, causing one of his figurines to fall and crack. They immediately knew Deku was going to be pissed so they sent you to cheer him up... He was on your ass too!
"No no no no. You wanted this remember? 'Ohhhh Izu, I was wondering if maybe you could be a little harder with me next time!' Those were your words right?" Hours of shamelessly loud intercourse and he's refused to let you cum.
He finishes inside you, you think it's about the fourth time. Who knows, you've stopped counting after three.
"Get on all fours, babe I'll show you rough."

omg I need to. Write you guys about this
So recently my life took couple of mf flips and eventually I ended up back in my home city (which is in fact, awesome)
And I struggled to get a job anywhere until I visited my old elementary school which is the purest place on the whole earth. I love this school. I love how they teach. I love the teachers. They all remember me and love me back.
The principal, who is absolutely my second mother like fr (they even share the same name), asked if I knew that one of my old classmates works there as daycare room attendant. I said that I do know and I actually came to also visit her! The talk went on and she asked if maybe one day I’d work for them as well
And I just stood there like 🧍🏽well actually
And WELL HERE I AM, they made me a whole ass arts and crafts teacher
I got 3 classes to teach so far and they’re pretty sweet kids! Willing to work if the subject interests them enough, very talkative, they’re awesome, honestly.
And just the funniest things keep happening
Y know how kids are very much present in social media these days and as much as we would love parents to control their screen time a bit more, it happens either way
Like on TikTok? You keep seeing literal kids on TikTok, 7-10 year olds n stuff
these guys. Know. Memes.
And they keep referencing to them. They dance. They quote. One of my students dabbed at me today because I praised the flower she drew for a reference for the class.
AND I KEEP FORGETTING THEY ALL PLAY GAMES WHICH IS SUPER OBVIOUS THEY DO BUT THEY TALK ABOUT IT SO OPENLY!!
you guys have no idea how it feels to walk into the classroom and spot those gremlins wearing shirts with Amongus or Fortnite and every second one of them has a Minecraft themed backpack next to their desk
Today one of my students had a pencil case with Minecraft Story Mode characters and I bawled internally
AND ALL THAT??? I mean it in the nicest possible way
Cause just as much as those games are usually kinda cringe or memes to us, to them??? They’re interests! And it’s honestly, genuinely so cool to see they’re not worried to show them off☺️
The funniest thing to me so far is actually talking to them about the games, when you’re a teacher. Cause from what I observed, to them, it feels like something absolutely out of this world. Teacher? Knowing THEIR interests??
I had second graders today and they were making tiny Pokémon figurines with clay (ditching the task I gave them but it was pretty late and tbf we were all tired). I praised the small Pikachu and asked if they could put together a figurine of Bulbasaur, because we were having a spring lesson. THEY WERE OUT OF THEIR MIND, they proceed to ask HOW DO I KNOW THIS?? WHY DO I KNOW THIS?? WHAT IS THE ELEMENT OF A CHARIZARD AND WHAT DOES HE EVOLVE TO???
We continued to have small chats about either Fortnite or Minecraft, still to their surprise that a teacher knows of their interests.
After that long day, I sat down to my mom’s car, fastening my seatbelts and had a single tear running down my cheek
“You said playing games will never be useful in my life,” I started, looking at her.
“You were wrong.”
#teacher things y know#cactaetalks#overly happy with this work#new challenge n stuff#willing to answer some fun questions#actually#:D

New Marshall Merchandise #57... or #32... or #29, I've Lost Count!
You know, I started posting these updates a few years ago, back when many of my followers were curious about anything I added to my collection. Some of them have gone quiet, possibly moved on or lost interest in PAW Patrol. I'm not sure if my current followers have any interest in these updates. At this point, I just post about these now because I enjoy showing off new items of my favorite character. 😇
And new items, I indeed have! Many of these I've collected over the last month or two, as finding new items hasn't exactly been too easy lately. Most major stores are still selling Jungle Pups and Mighty Movie toys, so hopefully anything new will pop up soon enough. Despite that, I have managed to find a few interesting things!
I first found out about this little figurine when it popped up on Ebay, but nobody would sell it without the other pups (Chase, Skye and Rubble... sadly, no Rocky or Zuma). Someone on Twitter told me they seen some at a Dollar Tree, so of course, I tried checking all the stores I have near me. It took a while, but one finally got some in! Best of all, it's only $1.25, so that's cool!
Hey, you know what else is cool?
Accidentally finding another piece of merchandise I didn't expect to see! I'd actually seen one of these on Ebay earlier the same day, but I thought it was a part of some set. Much to my surprise, Dollar Tree also had it, and also for $1.25. It's not the most impressive of the bath squirters I own, but I'm still happy to add it to my collection!
Ha, look at the label! Chase, Marshall, Skye... and Zuma! Well, it makes sense, given he's the water pup, but I still didn't expect that. Nice to see him on a label for once. :)
I'd actually seen pictures of these online a few times over the years, although they were typically branded as Christmas candy. I never could find any at the stores near me, but then a friend said she seen some at Walgreens. I searched around and finally found one... the last one they had left, in fact! Score! And yeah, I likely won't eat it... it'll sit in my collection along with that other Easter candy I got. lol
...huh, I just noticed it's cracked around the neck. I don't think it was like that when I bought it. Guess I somehow did that. Oops... but it still looks cool, right? Maybe I can find one to replace it when they show up again next year... if they show up again next year. 😅
I seen this at a garage sale for $1. How could I say no? Besides, just look at Marshall on this thing! Too cute, as always! 🥰
Actually, this was yet another lucky find, since I've seen these on Ebay for like $10 (with $5 shipping or so). The fact it's practically in perfect condition is also quite awesome. Living in a small town has it perks!
Last, and it's the priciest item today. I seen this while helping my folks with their shopping at Walmart. They had a few, but they were all Marshall. I wasn't going to get one at first, due to just how big it is, but my mother knows I collect practically anything of Marshall, so she bought it for me. Indeed, I'm already having trouble finding a spot for it, but no doubt I will... eventually... along with the other items on my table. Remember my last few updates? Yeah... most of those items are still sitting there, too. I'm running out of room! lol
That's all for now! I actually do have a few more items coming in the mail, so I'll have a few more things to show off soon enough... Valentines plush dolls, in fact. Ones I expected my local Walmart to get, but they never did. Otherwise, a friend of mine in the UK has offered to send me something I believe is only being sold in her country, so I'll get to add another imported item to my collection soon! I always love doing that, so I'm looking forward to getting it!
As for the Rescue Wheels toys, I've no idea when they'll show up. Maybe in June? July? Whenever the USA finally puts the episodes on their schedule. Now that I think about it, they'll probably be the last toys based on the original designs, huh? All future merch will likely use the new style. We better enjoy it while it lasts, I suppose.

The "nerdy" store at the bigger mall never has Rick and Morty merchandise--I found a DVD there once, but that's it--and yesterday was no exception. I did find a cardboard cutout of Sersi, my favorite Eternal:
Am I the only one who liked Eternals? I think Marvel just marketed it badly.
I usually don't have much luck at Hot Topic, either. They sell bags of tiny figurines from other shows, and I always wondered why Rick and Morty didn't get in on that. Turns out, Adult Swim finally discovered that market!
When I first saw the characters on the back, I thought "Oh, cool, we're finally catching up to season five." Then I found a surprise: Crow Witch Rick!!
I wanted that little guy so badly, but the figurines are packaged so that you don't know what you get until you open one. I thought "He has a pointy hat, so maybe I'll be able to feel that inside the bag." I've heard of people using a similar method to find rare hockey cards.
But nope...no luck. Maybe I'll be able to find an opened one on eBay.
Also, it's funny how they're making "Rickdependence Spray" merchandise like that isn't the worst episode in the series. Admittedly, I did laugh at Morty's "dirty little doggy" line. But it wasn't worth it!
Hopefully, this means that more Crow Witch Rick merchandise is on the way because I would buy all of it.
Hot Topic also had another underutilized character: Philip J. Fry.
Futurama is weirdly under-marketed. The series has enough of a cult following that it seems like a cash cow, but merchandise is rare. I've always thought that Futurama is strangely underrated in general even though it's aired on two major networks and has one of the most famous cartoonists in the world behind it.
On to Spencer's. They didn't have Pickle Rick OR the Rick and Morty cube. Pathetic! But they did have a new wallet that looked like an old TV set, which is pretty clever.
GIF of the changing image:
Today, it was time for a trip to the other mall. As always, I gave Box Lunch a little tip. Someone else requested the "will to live!" I don't think the mall can help them with that one.
In the food court, I spotted a man wearing a Rick and Morty shirt. I said "Hey, your shirt is awesome! Can I get a picture?" He said "Yeah, sure." When I asked him where he got it, he said "Burlington."
So Burlington sells demonic Rick and Morty merchandise now? That's news to me.
The pile of Rick and Morty Funko Pops greeted me at one of the "nerdy" stores, but they're still slowly thinning out. I guess nobody wants the huge Snowball.
Similarly, I posted about this poor Froopyland Beth months ago, and she's still here. Nobody wants her!
And to make matters worse, there's an identical Froopyland Beth in a different part of the store who's lived there for months, too. They even lowered the price!
The store also has two identical King of Shit Rick Funko Pops, each with a different location and price.
Don't want either of those? You can buy Rick in his ship if you're willing to reach to the top shelf.
Look at him go!
THIS Spencer's location didn't let me down. Pickle Rick and the Rick and Morty cube were squeezed onto a shelf, albeit with a bat blocking the view.
They also had a couple of new shirts. I love the vibrant colors.
And a handful of comics in a different "nerdy" store.
No comics for me, thanks. Not unless they release a Crow Witch Rick one--and how has that not happened yet? Seems like an obvious way to expand on plotlines from the series.
Anyway, it'll probably never happen, but my dream is to get a Crow Rick figurine in this style. Maybe I'll hire someone to design and 3D print one.

Our town has a local... D&D store, essentially, along with similar games like Pathfinder, etc.
My friends have talked about it a good bit, so I went to check it out today. I knew I'd want to spend money there, so I didn't bring any. Which was then sad, because... Well. I hadn't brought any money for the cool things.
There were figurines, tiny dice (I might actually buy some of those), books, etc...
But by far the highlights were the InteractionsTM.
-
Employee 1: Can we help you find anything?
Me: No, my friends just talk about this place all the time, and I-
Employee 1: I'm so sorry.
Me, laughing: No, this place is awesome.
Employee 1: Thanks! We try. Well, I try. I don't know about [Employee 2].
Employee 2: HEY! .... Why ya gotta call me out like that?

There were also 2 girls, maybe 7 and 9 years old, who took one look at me and apparently decided I was their Nemesis (in a playful/joking way), so there was a lot of banter there.
#i speak#who let these dragons in the dungeon#shiny dragon lair#(my name for this place)#kid tag#9 year old was more into the banter. 7 year old was having fun but i think she was hoping she'd get to#actually Fight for fun
