#Tim is trying to be nice and Danny is crushing hard

Danny didn’t end up checking his social media until the next day, being that the box ghost led him on chase across the city and by the end he was exhausted

So when he finally got a moment of peace at lunch he decided to check.

And he promptly almost passed out. His post was the most popular post on the app and for good reason. Tim. Had. Replied. Yes.

“Holy shit” he breathed out, both his friends looking up at him in question “Tim Drake said yes… Tim said yes!!!” He jumped up, a feeling of lightness washed over him as he floated in the air and spun

They had to pull him down before he hit the top of the tree, laughing and telling him to text him back

MortemAstral: so um… were you actually serious about wanting to go with me?

TimDrakeOfficial: I was, but I need to know where your prom is taking place

And preferably your name. Unless you want me to call you Astral

MortemAstral: oh! My name is Daniel Fenton, but please call me Danny! Or whatever else. It’s up to you!

Um, the prom is this Friday at 6:30, Amity Park Illinois… I hope that’s okay?

TimDrakeOfficial: sounds great Danny, I’ll be there ;)

I’ve got a meeting but I can’t wait to meet you

Oh ancients, Danny felt faint, he was sure his face was redder than mars right now

Tim Drake was genuinely wanting to go to prom with him, and his crush now knew his name. He couldn’t think

Immediately he went into planning mode. What to wear, how to greet him, would he like flowers? So many questions and he was fidgeting as he started writing notes for what he needed to do

“Well? What did he say? Is our best friend taking a fruitloops loops son to prom for real?” Sam teased, leaning forward on

He was sure his smile was leaning towards uncanny, but he couldn’t help but grin “he’s actually going to prom with me! …unless he’s just doing this as a cruel joke…”

“No way dude, have you seen when people have asked him before? Tim Drake is direct and brutal in turning people down when people asked him in the past, there’s no way he’s pulling a stunt like this” Tucker scrolled through something on his PDA, turning it around to show post after post of to the point denials

Completely different from the one he got, so unless his account was hacked, it seemed unlikely that it was a scam

And he felt in bliss for the rest of the day

Seeing the cute guys nervous and disbelieving text was frankly adorable, and Danny seemed genuinely nice

So Tim might have started researching him in depth… eighteen, born in Amity General Hospital in Illinois on October third, Top of his grade all the way up until Freshman year where he apparently was in a accident where hospitalized for a week

Supposedly he became more introverted and shut off, starting to skip classes and come back with bruises or cuts that no one seemed to care enough to report

Only recently did he seem to improve his grades again, being back in the top ten students in most classes and having a way better attendance record

But grades and a teachers perspective of him didn’t really say much about him. Tim wanted to get to know him normally

Right as he closed his computer from researching him, Dick came it “Timmy! There you are, I was looking everywhere for you. We were talking about playing some games tonight!”

“Is Bruce going to be there?”

“Um… yess? But you can’t just stay mad at each other!”

“Coming from the one that ran away to Bludhaven every time you two got in a fight. But sorry, I’ve got things to do, so I’ll have to rain check, sorry” without waiting for a reply, he got up and went to his room, searching through his closet for a nice suit

He ended up choosing a white undershirt, red vest with yellow buttons and a feather pattern, a dark red tie, and a black jacket with matching slacks, setting them aside to ask Alfred to iron as he chose a few accessories

And if he was already going to Amity park for Friday he might as well stay for the weekend, so he packed some casual clothes and pajamas

Finally he picked out a pair of custom cufflinks with a subtle Red Robin logo and a tie pin with a bat logo

Smiling to himself, he packed his bags and nodded. Picking up his suit, he went to find Alfred, finding the Butler in the reading nook with a novel

As he walked in the older gentleman looked up, tilting his head as he looked at the suit in his arms “Can I help you Master Tim? I don’t believe there’s any event requiring a tux in the near future.”

“Maybe not for anyone else, but I’m going to a prom this Friday and I want to look nice, so I was wondering if you could iron this for me?”

Alfred blinked for a moment, closing his book and setting it to the side “A prom?”

“Yeah, I’ve already looked into the person who asked me and confirmed everything as real, so don’t worry, but I’ve never went to prom before and frankly I’m still pissed as Bruce, so I thought taking a vacation would be better than waiting for one of us to snap at each other”

“And you said Friday?”

“Yep, I’ll probably fly out tomorrow after work so I have time to get settled into my hotel room and everything for the next day”

“Very well Master Tim, I’ll have it ready for you tomorrow when you arrive”

He gave him a quick hug and thanked him before leaving to find Cass, he needed someone to cover his patrol afterall

As if knowing he was looking for her, Cass waved at him as he walked into the foyer

“There you are, do you think you can cover my Patrol tomorrow and this weekend? I have some plans out of state so I won’t be able to do it”

She nodded, but signed *one condition. Game night.*

With a sigh, he nodded, groaning as she pulled him away to the family room and pushed him onto the couch. All his siblings grinned

After school the next day Danny told his friends that he had to visit someone in the ghost zone, him flying through the green expanse until he came up on a medieval kingdom

He flew straight to the castle, smiling and waving to the guards that greeted him in kind

Dora was waiting for him in the tailoring room, a tailor happily bowing to him as he walked in

“Sir Phantom! I’m so honored you asked me to help you fashion an outfit for your gala!”

“It’s not really a gala, it’s just my prom, you came to the freshman prom, remember?” She nodded, asking his to stand up on the platform and hold still while the tailor measured him

“I remember that night fondly indeed. But, what type of outfit do you wish for my friend?”

They talked for hours about his suit design, ending up with a navy blue ruffled tail-suit, white stars embroidered on it with a black undershirt and slacks, a star lapel pin with a chain clipped to his pocket. Dora surprised him with crescent moon cufflinks

He had a perfect bow tie that matched and a pair of earrings that would fit perfectly with the rest of the accessories

The entire way home he was smiling, staying invisible as he flew up to his room and gently laid out his suit for tomorrow

Jazz chose that moment to knock and walk in, blinking at him ��Danny? What are you doing? Is that your suit for tomorrow?”

Nodding, he searched through his box of earrings and pulled out the small silver star earrings and sat them on the dresser next to his cufflinks “yep, Dora and her tailor made it for me. What do you think?”

“It looks amazing little brother! Are you going with Sam and Tucker?”

His hands stilled over where he was straining his slacks, cheeks turning red as he looked away “um… not exactly.”

“Who are you going with then? U- unless you’re just going alone, that’s fine too!” She hurriedly explained, trying not too insinuate he needed a date

But Danny couldn’t stop thinking about Tim, his long time crush, walking into the prom with him and holding his hand

“I… I have a date. You just… don’t know them.”

Blinking, Jazz tilted her head to squint at him. “Is it one of your ghost friends? It might not be a good idea if you want to avoid mom and dad crashing the prom”

He scoffed “I’m not that much of an idiot Jazz” he said, dropping onto his bed “I actually got Dora and her entire army to guard the portal specifically to avoid that. But don’t worry about it”

While she narrowed her eyes, she eventually shrugged and left to let him get some sleep for the night

Before going to bed, he pulled out his phone, a smile creeping up when he saw a message from Tweeter

TimDrakeOficial: landed in Amity Park and checked into the hotel, can’t wait for tomorrow, pick you up at 6:00!

Good night Danny.

He could feel his cheeks burning bright red as he kicked his feet like a school girl, grinning like crazy and uncaring of his fangs for once as he replied

MortemAstral: I doubt you are nearly as excited as me i mean I’m going to prom with my celebrity crush

I’m just some random dude compared to you

But I don’t want to keep you up any longer night Tim

Before he could even exit off the app, a picture got sent from Tim. In it he was wearing a simple robin tee shirt and what looked like Batman pajama pants, his hair messy against the pillow where it was laying.

He was smiling lazily and holding up a peace sign, the text under it saying

TimDrakeOfficial: believe it or not I’m only professional, like, ten percent of the time. Any other time I’m just a tired teen like anyone else lol

Ancients he couldn’t think straight. Only gay… well, technically bi, but semantics. How could someone look so handsome without even trying!

Biting his lip, he debated whether or not he should send one back, only for his decision to be made for him when Tim literally asked for one himself

So, taking a deep breath to steel his nerves, he sat back against the headboard and smiled, unconsciously tilting his head

Well. It’s official, Danny was cute as fuck. After deciding to say to hell with Bruce’s paranoia after he jumped Tim when he found out he was leaving for the weekend and interrogating him until he got tired of arguing, Tim sent a simple photo to say goodnight and convince the other guy he was just a normal teen

CEO or not

Then, because he was tempting fate, he asked for a picture of him back. He was not disappointed

A selfie of Danny smiling shyly with his head tilted like a puppy was sent moments after his message. His freckles were still as bright as before and his blue eyes sparkled in the low light from presumably a lamp

The teens hair was fluffy and somewhat messy, a rumple NASA shirt slightly pulled down on one side of his neck from moving around revealing the top of his collarbone

That night both boys fell asleep staring at photos and thinking about the next day

Wanna know what would be funny.

DeadTired Prom story.

Like no really hear me out.

As a bet or a dare or just Danny deciding to shoot his shot, Danny asks Tim Drake-Wayne to Casper's High Senior Prom via social media. He honestly thinks it will NEVER happen because come on its the internet and stuff.

But what if, what if Tim whose had an argument with Bruce or something and wanting to have some normal fun again before he became CO-CEO of WE or Red Robin see's the @ Danny sent him and decides you know what.

WHY THE HECK NOT?!

Danny wasn't expecting the guy to show up on prom night to pick him.

Braindead au where they are both adults and married.

Danny deals with the burdens of being a house husband and the only Capable Adult (tm) in the family after Alfred passed away. May he rest in peace.

Since they never hired another butler no one can replace Alfred Danny decided to fill the roll. At first it was hard, feeling a bit silly not working a normal job, but he soon realized this was a lot harder than any job he's had before. Ancients, he loves cooking and baking and especially loves caring for Tim, bit this...was a lot.

Not to mention the harpies that flirt with Tim and the others trying to get access to the Wayne fortune. Usually someone flirting with his significant other didn't bother him, he wasn't the jealous type. He trusted Tim but he always looks so uncomfortable when they refused to take a hint. And what sort of husband would he be if he didn't rescue his beloved?

There were also a bunch of supernatural creatures in Gotham just casually going about thier lives in peace. Danny liked chatting with them sometimes. They knew he was some sort of supernatural being, but not what. He planned to keep it that way.

Sometimes his own former rogues gallery would pop in to hang out with him and catch up while he's meal prepping or cleaning. They usually did something nice for him- Ember would recommend musical instruments for Nightwing and Starfires daughter, Technus would ghost proof or upgrade tech (which Tim loved) Princess Dora liked to help him clean and meal prep while they chatted, ect- but they would always cause just a tiny amount of chaos before leaving.

His former ghostly enemies were nothing compared to his new living ones. Erica, the stay at home mom and wife of some high up person in Gothams elites had it out for him personally for some reason. Appearently she had been trying to set each of her kids up with one of the Waynes for years. Her bratty daughter Vexi had had a crush on Tim for a long long time but it was never reciprocated.

Long story short? Dannys life had turned into a supernatural semi-soap opera.

At least he managed to accidentally reform the riddler. Nigma was great company and he loved the riddles and jokes he would tell. Plus the puns.

Tim wasn't comfortable with it at first, but as life went on he befriended more and more of Gothams baddies and reformed them (mostly by accident mind you) to the point it became noticeable to the public.

And the Joker.

I’m seeing a lot of TMA Star Trek AU on my dash, and it seems largely TOS-based. I love TOS, but allow me to propose: Star Trek Voyager AU.

The crew in Voyager aren’t on a scientific mission, they’re survivors lost 70,000 light years from Earth. It’s campy fun Star Trek stuff, but instead of having the resources and support of the Federation, the crew is alone - trying to get back to known space, forced to depend on one another. Found Family ensues harder than you can possibly imagine. 

Captain Sasha James!! Janeway is capable, cool-headed and good at managing the crew on a personal level, but it’s hard to really know her. The pressures of her role mean she wears masks even with people she cares for, which fits Sasha perfectly. 

I’m inclined to put Tim as her First Officer – it’s a good role for him, and the Captain and First Officer must be a dynamic duo. Science Officer works for Jon, though with the reduced crew and vulnerable situation, he might end up with multiple roles. I like the idea of Martin as medic (and I’ll get more into that later, because oh boy.) Georgie can take Neelix’s role, (though she refuses to stop saying that the Admiral is the official Morale Officer and she just interprets for him.)

Half Klingon Melanie King!! Half Klingon Melanie King struggling with anger issues and frustrated with people who define her by them!! Who had to push and fight to keep from being dismissed because of her heritage!! Half Klingon Head of Engineering Melanie King!! 

THE BORG. THE BORG, GUYS. Think of the possibilities that threat could present to these characters.

Danny Stoker was assimilated by the Borg. It was Tim’s motivation to join Starfleet. He refuses to talk about it until the day the crew is cornered in Borg-occupied space and makes contact with a drone that bears a disturbing resemblance to him. 

(Danny Stoker as Seven of Nine and, like, twelve paragraphs of JonMartin under the cut.)

Tense standoffs ensue and the crew escapes with the Danny-drone still on their ship. Sasha (the only one Tim told about his brother) makes the risky call to subdue him and sever his link to the Collective rather than killing him.

Now Tim has the brother that he thought was gone forever, but he’s profoundly changed. He doesn’t seem like the Danny he remembers, he might even be a threat. Meanwhile Danny is lost without the Collective, struggling with the idea of individuality as well as his memories/emotions regarding Tim. 

They have to negotiate around both their traumas if they want to heal and recover, but at least they have a chance to know each other again. (And the rest of the crew helps.)

Now, the chief medical officer on Voyager is a hologram - intended to be turned on only in emergencies, but left running nearly all the time due to the lack of medical staff. Over time his personality expands beyond his original programming, the others start treating him less like a computer program and more like a member of the crew, and friendships eventually develop. (It’s one of those “am I a person? What does it mean to be a person?” stories. Voyager has a lot of that.)

There’s two directions I could see that going. One is Helen/Michael slots into the role. (Either or both, who says the Emergency Medical Hologram doesn’t have two interfaces?) Personality-wise they’ve got the campy smugness, and the whole “am I a who or a what?” thing works super well. I mentioned Martin as a medic and the idea of him having to put up with Helen’s bullshit/getting to irritably banter with Helen is very good.

BUT ALTERNATELY, Martin is the medical hologram. Instead of leaning into the “inhumanity” angle, we lean into the angle of being initially overlooked/not seen as one of the crew, then slowly making meaningful connections. (Can squeeze in a “self-worth outside of what you do for others” character arc too.) 

Jon is for sure the first one to treat Martin like a person. It’s a reversal of S1 Jon being an ass to him, but it feels appropriate for Jon - who can sympathize with creatures that aren’t human, even when others don’t. There’s another fun parallel - in canon, Martin continues to treat Jon like a person even as he becomes less and less human. Here, Jon treats Martin like a person from the beginning and he becomes more and more of one.

Plus, come on, think of all the “Jon gets injured and Martin has to overclock himself/push past his intended limits to save his life” scenarios. Think of Martin getting a crush on Jon early because he’s Nice To Him, panicking and trying to hide it. Think of Emergency Medical Hologram Martin taking an interest in poetry instead of opera.

The Lonely may not exist in this AU but I bet being turned off feels a lot like it : (

I like Vulcan/half Vulcan Jon, so we can slot him there. (He’s not a parallel for Tuvok, that wouldn’t fit - he’s just Jon and he’s Spock and he’s on Voyager and you’re all going to have to deal with it. Besides, “half Vulcan/caught between two worlds/struggling with the concept of Emotions” is so good for Jon.)

Now mix half Vulcan Jon in with Hologram Martin and imagine the pining. IMAGINE IT.

Jon refuses to accept he has feelings at all, let alone romantic feelings for someone else. And Martin? He isn’t even sure he’s capable of love, if what he’s feeling is real or some flaw in his programming.  Jon’s nice enough to him – sometimes Martin thinks he even sees him as a friend, but surely there are limits? The absurdity of a holomatter projection thinking that it’s in love with him must be too much for even Jon to indulge.

They’ll get there after four or five seasons of mutual longing, of course. Probably in some intensely dramatic circumstance. 

In fact, that’s a thought - something something backup drive holding Martin’s personality is stuck on a planet that’s incredibly toxic. (Maybe filled with poisonous fog because, of course, gotta keep the aesthetic.) Something something Vulcan physiology, Jon is the only one who can survive on the surface long enough to get it. 

He has Martin’s mobile emitter with him while he goes after the drive, and the whole time Martin is trying to convince him to stop. It’s too dangerous, the planet is killing him, Martin’s given up on himself but he doesn’t want Jon to die too.

“You don’t have to do this, the default program for me is still on the ship, it can be reset.” 

“That is not you. Your personality, your experiences, everything you’ve gained over these years would be lost.” 

“But it has all my medical knowledge. It can do my job just as well, you’ll still have a doctor - -” 

*losing all pretense of a Calm Vulcan Exterior* “I did not come here to retrieve our doctor, I came to get you back, and I am not leaving without you!!”

(Of course they get back safely and Jon immediately collapses upon returning to the ship, then it’s Martin’s turn to make sure he doesn’t die.)

Also it’s Star Trek so holograms can be solid, they’ll get those fabric rustles in don’t worry.

I really hope the read more works on this, and if not I apologize so much to everyone for this obscenely long post on your dash. 

Okay, so this follows on from this Tim head canon post, because I am way too enamored with the idea of Tim and Martin becoming friends through volunteering together to help LGBT youth. 

So they become real friends, not just work friends. They hang out a lot more, first only with other folks from the orgs they’re volunteering with, but after a while just the two of them. Martin loosens up a lot when he’s not at work and anxious about making a mistake, and Tim gets to see that he’s actually very funny and snarky. They get along really well.

The first time Tim suggests they do something on the weekend (seeing an exhibition they’re both interested in) Martin freaks out a bit. Is Tim…asking him out? Nah, definitely not, it’s just a friendly thing, right? Tim is way out of his league. Tim is actually not asking him out, because he knows Martin is hung up on Jon (which, why? Martin could do better) and he’s not looking to get in the middle of that mess. Martin is cute, and Tim’s considered it, but it’s not worth it. Besides, he likes having Martin as a friend. (He does give Martin a hard time about the Jon thing, though. He’s such a prick, Martin, seriously.) 

They have a really nice time together when they go out, and it kind of feels like a date? But they each remind themselves that it definitely isn’t. They keep hanging out regularly, and Martin realizes he’s starting to feel butterflies in his stomach around Tim. The kind he usually associates with Jon. He still thinks it’s not even worth worrying about, because Tim is handsome and clever and funny, and Martin is, well, Martin Blackwood. (He had no idea that Tim thinks Martin Blackwood is attractive as hell.) 

In this universe, Martin’s crush on Jon doesn’t develop into full blown infatuation, because he is rapidly catching feelings for Tim. Tim doesn’t date nearly as much as he used to, because he enjoys spending time with Martin more. He knows it’s not healthy, encouraging his own infatuation when Martin’s fixated on Jon, but who’s going to tell him to stop? 

Martin still gets targeted by the Hive, because he still wants to impress Jon and prove he’s competent. After three days Tim gets worried. Martin just keeps replying to his texts saying he’s still sick, and he won’t answer the phone. He goes over to Martin’s flat and almost gets got by the worms, but he grabs a fire extinguisher in the hallway (it’s the only thing to hand) and as it turns out, that works. Prentiss flees after a bunch of the worms are killed, and Martin answers the door to Tim’s frantic knocking, looking shocked and scared. 

He demands to know what Tim’s doing there, he could have been killed. Tim just hugs him, because god, what has Martin been through these last few days? I was worried about you, he says. I brought soup. Martin starts laughing at that, which turns into crying, and he’s clutching Tim’s back, saying thank you thank you over and over again. 

Tim offers Martin to stay with him, but he insists that he doesn’t want to lead Prentiss to Tim’s flat, and besides the Archives are safer. Tim spends a lot of late evenings at the Archives, because Martin doesn’t want to go out much and Tim doesn’t want to leave him on his own in that place. 

It’s during this time that he tells Martin about Danny. He wants Martin to know he’s not alone, that Tim’s been through it with this terrible supernatural stuff as well. He starts crying while telling the story, because it’s still so hard to talk about Danny at all. Martin takes his hand and just holds onto it while he finishes the story, and then silently hugs him, holds him for a long time. 

Prentiss attacks the Archives, and afterwards Martin goes to Tim’s flat to see if he’s okay. I’m sorry I left you, he says, It was an accident. Of course Tim doesn’t blame him, it’s not his fault. He makes a self-deprecating joke about his wounds, At least I won’t have to worry if people only like me for my looks anymore, and Martin blurts out don’t be stupid, you’re still gorgeous, and then goes bright red. Tim thinks fuck it, I almost died, and kisses him. 

Martin can’t believe this is happening, but he kisses back, trying to put everything he feels into it. Cradles Tim’s face very gently, careful of his injuries, and they’re both breathless when they break the kiss. Sorry, Tim says immediately, That was a bad idea. I know you fancy Jon. Still a bit…adrenaliney, you know? He tries to back away but Martin grabs both of his hands. I fancy you, you idiot, he says. I mean, yeah, I did like Jon, but not for a while now. How could I, when you’re right there being all perfect and gorgeous at me?

Tim is lost for words. It is a rare occurrence, so Martin takes the opportunity to kiss him again. It’s pretty much perfect. 

And yeah, I won’t go any further than that, other than to say that imagine how much better things would have been for Tim if he had someone to support him and care about him through the S3 awfulness? Someone he could open up to about his fear and anger and pain, and someone he could support in return. I’m not saying the ultimate choice he made would have been any different, but perhaps he would have made it not just out of revenge and anger, but out of love. To save not only the world but someone he loved.

A Walk Through Hell #9, like many issues before it, does its damnedest to break your mind. Garth Ennis, Goran Sudžuka, Ive Svorcina, and Rob Steen continue to deliver one of the best horror stories every month that just seems to get stranger and more complex with each subsequent chapter. This issue yanks the rug out from under us.

Action Comics #1010 raises a million and one more questions as to what’s actually going on with Leviathan and whether some things are supposed to be clues or if Brian Michael Bendis is just changing continuity. Maybe a little of both. Stellar art from Steve Epting and Brad Anderson who continue to deliver a solid mood and atmosphere for this espionage-heavy story.

Ascender #1 is pretty damn great. Jeff Lemire, Dustin Nguyen, and Steve Wands kick-off this follow-up to Descender with what feels like a complete counterpoint to its hard science fiction. This delves deep into a universe taken over by magic and vampires, with technology either gone or kept under strict control. Even the art has shifted tone, from the dark inkiness from before to a greater reliance on white spaces here, to give it a different visual aesthetic.

Avengers #18 is a single issue story, tying in to The War of the Realms, spotlighting Coulson’s new Squadron Supreme of America (it’s unclear as to whether these are new versions or existing ones being manipulated, but there’s shadowy shenanigans), from Jason Aaron, Ed McGuinness, Mark Morales, Justin Ponsor, and Cory Petit. Marvel’s Justice League analogue just got their Max Lord.

This has been one of my favourite series over the past year and the build to the conclusion is wonderful. Absolutely phenomenal work from Si Spurrier, Matías Bergara, Michael Doig, and Jim Campbell.

Criminal #4 tells a haunting single issue story of a very messed up day in the life of Ricky Lawless. I love the mosaic that Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips, and Jacob Phillips are crafting out of these different time periods, building something larger out of an already sprawling world.

Dark Red #2 takes an interesting turn as Chip is given a pitch to become the face of a new American heartland vampire nation. Interesting to see how racism also extends through to vampires. Very entertaining stuff from Tim Seeley, Corin Howell, Mark Englert, and Marshall Dillon.

Detective Comics #1002 continues “Medieval” with some really great art from Brad Walker, Andrew Hennessy, and Nathan Fairbairn. There’s a weight and gravity to the art that elevate the story nicely. Also, it’s interesting to see an antagonist who thinks that he’s a hero above Batman, especially as he goes about trying to recruit Damian. It should be interesting to see who Arkham Knight is under the mask.

Dial H for Hero #2 is probably even better than the first issue, and the first issue was one of the most fun debuts I’ve read in a while. Sam Humphries, Joe Quinones, Jordan Gibson, and Dave Sharpe capture a zany energy amidst the real, emotional drama that the kids are experiencing and it leads to some highly entertaining storytelling. Also, the art is phenomenal. Quinones is really stretching his artistic muscles, throwing in incredible different styles as the heroes emerge. This issue gives us pastiches of Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing and the transformation is amazing, the entire creative team perfectly capturing the style.

Doctor Strange #13 continues to force Galactus into the world of magic, delving further into some familiar faces from Strange’s past, in the second part of “Herald Supreme” from Mark Waid, Barry Kitson, Scott Koblish, Scott Hanna, Brian Reber, and Cory Petit.

Fearscape #5 concludes what has been a highly ambitious, inventive series from Ryan O’Sullivan, Andrea Mutti, Vladimir Popov, and Andworld Design. Sadly, Henry Henry doesn’t get punched in the dick, repeatedly, but there are some tragic twists that change the landscape.

The Forgotten Queen #3 delivers more of Vexana’s history, revealing she’s responsible for Dracula in the Valiant universe, along with a few other twists. I’m really liking Amilcar Pinna and Ulises Arreola’s art here. The odd angles adding something unique to the feel of the story.

Invisible Kingdom #2 sees G. Willow Wilson, Christian Ward, and Sal Cipriano continue to build a richly developed, intriguing world essentially founded upon a bedrock of an Amazon analogue, both in support of and opposition to. Gorgeous artwork from Ward.

Justice League Dark #10 outlines the Lords of Order’s plans for the multiverse and magic and why they’re initiating an assault on all of the magic wielders. James Tynion IV is doing some rather impressive world-building and story seeding all throughout his work, but it really comes to a head in this series. Also, the art from Alvaro Martínez Bueno, Raul Fernandez, and Brad Anderson continues to be impeccable.

KINO #15 begins a new arc, tackling some messy current events throughout Europe in a rather interesting fashion. Alex Paknadel, Diego Galindo, Valentina Pinto, and Jim Campbell did some amazing things reinterpreting KINO in the last arc, delivering an intriguing thriller, and that doesn’t seem to be letting up any with this new arc. The politics and the manipulation are at an all time high and this is something you really don’t want to miss.

The Lollipop Kids #5 is the final battle between the kids and Morgan Le Fay and her army of monsters for all the lollipops. This has been an imaginative series from Adam Glass, Aidan Glass, Diego Yapur, DC Alonso, and Sal Cipriano with consistently some of the most beautiful art in comics. There’s a hint of what’s to come and I hope we see more of this story in the future.

Punk Mambo #1 is another great debut of a limited series for Valiant spotlighting one of their less used, but highly interesting characters from Cullen Bunn, Adam Gorham, José Villarrubia, and Dave Sharpe. The set up for supernatural intrigue delving into Voodoo belief is very entertaining, with some impressive artwork from Gorham and Villarrubia.

Queen of Bad Dreams #1 is another highly imaginative, impressive debut for Vault. This time spotlighting a world where dreams can jump from the mind of the dreamer into the real world. Danny Lore, Jordi Pérez, Dearbhla Kelly, and Kim McLean offer up some interesting, fleshed-out characters in Daher and Viv, that elevate this from just a unique take on a police procedural to greater interpersonal drama. Also, a mystery that’s going to hook you immediately.

Spawn #296 features some absolutely stunning artwork from Jason Shawn Alexander, FCO Plascencia, and Greg Menzie for this first part of “History of Spawn” as the march to the 300th issue gets closer and the stakes get raised as the powers that loom through Spawn’s life gather to try to put an end to him.

Star Trek: Year Five #1 to me feels like it has perfectly captured the spirit of the original series, delving deep into Star Trek lore and pulling forth a captivating story that showcases a lot of what made the television show great. Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, Stephen Thompson, Charlie Kirchoff, and Neil Uyetake are off to a great start.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge #1, like Tie Fighter from last week, is a tie-in to some of the new stuff in the broader Star Wars universe with some new characters and locations. In this case it ties in to the new attraction opening at the Disney theme parks. This first issue introduces us to the seedy underbelly of the world shortly before The Force Awakens, from Ethan Sacks, Will Sliney, Dono Sánchez-Almara, Protobunker, and Travis Lanham, weaving in an entertaining flashback with the familiar faces of Han Solo and Chewbacca.

Stone Star #2 is as impressive as the debut issue, developing a couple more complex characters and spinning forth a political situation that makes the arena world of the Stone Star itself a bit more suspect. Jim Zub, Max Dunbar, Espen Grundetjern, and Marshall Dillon are telling a tale here that really shouldn’t be missed.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #93 is part one of “City at War” from Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, Tom Waltz, Dave Wachter, Ronda Pattison, and Shawn Lee. It’s mostly a gathering storm as the forces prepare for the oncoming onslaught, with an absolutely harrowing spark to kick off the conflict.

Thanos #1 begins a new mini from Tini Howard, Ariel Olivetti, Antonio Fabela, and Joe Caramagna that offers up a look at the formative years of Thanos raising Gamora, along with other bits of early history. This first issue paints a rather intriguing picture of Thanos as a deranged serial killer, building his own Winchester House out of his space station, which certainly is a different take.

Wizard Beach #5 brings an end to this fun series from Shaun Simon, Conor Nolan, George Schall, Chad Lewis, Meg Casey, and Mike Fiorentino. It’s wonderful to see Hex learn and grow these past couple of issues and we get an interesting resolution to the nefarious schemes that were popping up on the beach.

As soon as he gets the first hint that this is the problem (and Danny has a huge crush on him as No Game Jason Todd)

He COULD explain matters and maybe get a date

Danny is reliable, trustworthy, and honest; Jason would want him to know what he’s actually risking if they date (not least because nosey batsibs WILL come and investigate and he deserves a warning)

BUT

He could also… fuck with Danny a lil bit

Fucking BUILDINGS are levelled when the smoke clears and Hood’s moving off into the rest of Gotham, walking down the middle of the road like an actual literal tank

The bats flock but hold a distance, the green is glowing past the edges of the helmet and Jason’s himself enough to tell them to stay the fuck back, someone has something of his

They’re obviously gonna try and help, work out where Danny’s been taken to call Jason in and see if they can’t get him back with minimal bloodshed

My internal roulette says Tim gets to go scout out the location, and all the other bats hear him break into sleep deprived giggles when he arrives

Is it the wrong location? Has he been Joker gassed?

Jason speeds up, doing the full Rambo through any surviving goons, but when he gets to the building he sees Red Robin sat on the ground, laughing his ass off

And a very confused Danny leaning over him, eyes just fading from their own green glow, surrounded by unconscious gangsters

Danny might be playing nice, no actual ghost powers when he’s just fighting humans but really, like it’s hard? He glows when he’s amped up

Red Robin points over at Jason, still giggling, and says “SNAP!”

The adrenaline breaks and okay yes Jason can see the funny side, but he’s already pulling the helmet off and running to Danny

Danny, braced for anything, is not prepared for glowing green eyes that yes, did match his own, and Jason’s voice, not Hood’s, asking what the fuck happened

“I came from Amity Park, actual humans aren’t really a big deal for me”

No answers here, only more questions, but Jason definitely goes for a relief-smooch, Danny bats him away because “what would Jason think”, and Jason joins Tim on the ground laughing his ass off

Pops off the domino when Danny’s getting annoyed at two giggling vigilantes that keep setting each other off with pointed looks and Tim wheezing “yeah Hood what WOULD Jason think” whenever one of them stops

Jason, unmasked, tells Danny Jason probably won’t mind if you make out with his definitely-boyfriend the Red Hood

He gets a punch not a smooch for this as punishment

Contrary to popular belief, Red Hood wasn't actually a bad boss, Danny could attest to that. After all, thanks to a guy named Bill, he had gotten a job with the Crime Lord, and although he initially feared being assigned to kill or do "shady" activities, his boss actually reassigned him to his assistant.

So yes, Danny now worked directly under Hood's personal assistant, a very attractive man by the name of Jason, but the other goons warned him that it was very likely that he was dating Hood, with the amount of time they spent together so he didn't have to much hope with his crush.

In summary: Danny fell in love with Jason, but he thinks that Jason is dating Red Hood because of comments from the goons and he doesn't want to be "the third wheel" or for Jason to cheat on the crime lord with him, on the other hand Red Hood started flirting with him too and it's getting incredibly frustrating how unfaithful this couple is.

Meanwhile, Jason just wishes the guy would understand his signals, maybe the flowers aren't enough, he doesn't realize he's sending signals like Red Hood too.

Danny woke up early the next morning, him being fidgety the entire time. At noon he went out and bought a bouquet of flowers, small blue and black flowers with baby’s breath. After that he picked up a boutonnière that matched his suit

Once he got home he stashed the items in his room with his suit and went to take a shower

By the time he got out and fixed his hair and done a bit of makeup to cover a few small scars on his neck, it was about four thirty

Still an hour and half till he had to be ready… so deciding to pull out his phone and shot off a text to his date

MortemAstral: so… any hints on what you’re going to wear?

It took a minute for him to reply

TimDrakeOfficial: if I do, will I get a hint from you?

MortemAstral: nope! Sorry, but you gotta wait and see~

TimDrakeOfficial: then you have to do the same. It’s only an hour and a half longer

Tim couldn’t help but laugh at the pouty tone of the texts, grinning to himself as he picked out the perfect bouquet and boutonnière, something in him drawing him to one that matched his suit

He was at a small flower shop where it seemed like a lot of teens were coming to get similar things. A tall cocky jock sweeping in and choosing an eye searing pink and white corsage and a red rose boutonnière

The jock was already wearing his basic black suit with no special accessories… so in Tim’s opinion, he looked bland

On the other hand, a darker skinned teen was meticulously going through the flowers and getting black roses with purple smaller flowers, having it made with a dark purple ribbon with fancy black lace

Then he chose to request a boutonnière with the same black roses and yellow flowers, picking out a thin blue ribbon

Probably noticing his gaze, the teen turned to him and immediately went wide eyed at him, mouthing a silent ‘holy shit’ before shaking his head and focusing on his task as he started planning out a bouquet

A strange reaction sure, but he didn’t have time to waste, so once his requested items were done he walked out to head to the next store

He stopped at a small shop and picked up a small box of candy for Danny, ending his trip back to the hotel by ordering a limo to escort them there and back

Glancing at the clock, he had about forty-five minutes to get dressed and fix his hair

Danny was officially freaking out. Only thirty minutes and he was trying to get everything ready. Hair? Check. Makeup? Check, embarrassingly enough. Teeth… he sighed at his reflection, still fanged

No, don’t go there right now!

Okay, suit? check. Lapel pin? Straighten it, then check. Cufflinks? Check. Shoes? Check. Earrings? Maybe he should wear his moon ones instead? No! The stars match better. Check.

Grabbing the bouquet and boutonnière, he sat the flowers clip in a fancy box and slipped his phone into a hidden pocket inside his suit jacket

Heading downstairs, he went to sit in the living room, only to end up pacing back and forth in front of the door. What if it is a joke? What if he bails? What if Tim gets here and thinks he’s a monst-

He was yanked out of his thoughts as he got a message from the group chat, Tucker telling Sam he was on his way with a winky face, Sam replying with a sarcastic ‘hurry up then’

Footsteps on the stairs had him looking back towards the stairs, Jazz lighting up as she saw him “oh my gosh little brother! You look amazing!” She smiled, walking over and fixing a small piece of hair “I got mom and dad to actually change into some normal clothes, to, yknow..”

“Not scare away my date?” He drawled, rolling his eyes with a sigh “I appreciate that, I’d rather his first impression of me not being ‘son of crazy ghost hunters’”

She nodded, something apparently catching her attention as she blinked at him in shock “his?”

Oh… he forgot about that, cheeks flushing “um… yeah, I guess I never actually told you, heh. I’m bi… and yes, my date is a guy”

Without missing a beat, she smiled wide “I knew it! I’m proud of you Danny! When is he supposed to be here?”

Glancing at his phone, the clock reading five fifty-eight, he sighed “he said six, so soon”

As if summoning it, the door knocked, his parents running down and opening the door before he could even step forward

There, in all his glory, was Tim Drake in a flawless, expensively graceful, black suit with a subtle feather pattern on the red vest under the jacket

A huge blue bouquet was in his hands, a soft smile so perfectly sparkling in a way that Danny couldn’t help but blush

Both his parents and Tim blinked at each other. At least they were in normal clothes

“Hello there,” wow his voice was beautiful… “I’m here for Danny?”

The two hunters turned to him, a grin so present it was hard not to show his teeth as he gently grabbed his own gift of flowers and the fancy box

They backed up as he walked forward, Tim having to look up at him a bit as the CEOs pale face was painted with a light pink glow

“Wow, I’m not disappointed, you’re more attractive than I imagined.” Each word just made his face turn more and more red, the blush even reaching his ears “here, for you.” He held out a fancy red bouquet and a professionally decorated box

In return, Danny handed off his own “looks like we think alike, I hope you don’t mind the color of the boutonnière, I got it to match my outfit so we could have a matching item”

Tim opened it, a smirk quirking up at the edge “think alike we did, take a look at yours” he nodded to the box

The red and black boutonnière with gold baby’s breast was a perfect match to Tim’s suit, a suspiciously wet laugh pulling from his throat

Finally someone else spoke up, Jazz’s jaw still slack “you’re… you’re Tim Drake! The CEO of Wayne industries and adopted son of Bruce Wayne!” Her head whipped to Danny with a playfully angry scowl “how could you not tell me your prom date was Tim Drake!”

Holding up his hands in surrender, the suit shifted to pull at muscles Tim secretly admired “to be fair, I couldn’t really believe it.”

From behind him, Tim huffed a laugh, holding out his hand in invitation “as much as I’d love to get to know you all, it’s already six thirteen and the limo is waiting.”

Immediately that adorable blush was back on Danny’s face, bright blue eyes going wide “limo?!”

“Of course, might as well get there in style, right?” The slightly taller teen looked ready to blow a gasket

Before they could walk out, the girl with long red hair pulled out her phone “wait! I have to get a picture! Come on!”

They nodded and followed her outside, having to give both Fentons a moment to process the fancy luxury vehicle before the two males stood in front of it and posed together for the picture

She showed them and they requested the photo be sent to them, Tim opening the door and bowing to invite Danny into the car

He hid his face in the flowers as he got in, waving to what he was assuming was his sister and parents, Tim following right after him and closing the door

Inside the car soft music was playing, nothing stupidly uptight like at Wayne galas, just stuff from Tim’s personal playlist

Danny sat across from Tim, a soft closed lip smile as he admired the gifted bouquet

Chuckling, it drew the attention of the half ghost “so… Tim… can I ask a question”

“You are my date for tonight, I don’t see why not”

“See that’s what I’m confused about, why did you say yes?”

Well, that’s a question that was steeped in inadequacy “honestly? At first I was just going because I was pissed at Bruce and have never got to a prom before, so I was curious”

Danny wilted, nodding solemnly

“Then,” he perked up in surprise “I really found you fun and charming, so I wanted to go with you specifically to get to know you. Be friends, if nothing else.” He was happy to see his date look a bit less nervous

Only to immediately ruin it by his next question “why did you decide to ask me?”

Shoulders hunched in on himself, looking smaller than a tall and handsome guy should look “nobody in my entire school would ever go with me and I didn’t want to be my two friends third wheel again” he shrugged, trying to act like it didn’t bother him

“Why wouldn’t anyone go with you? You’re really nice and pretty damn attractive”

“Yet my reputation is damming. My parents? Kinda the town crazy people. And because of that even being my friend is basically throwing away your social life at my school.” He fidgeted with, no joke, opal cufflinks shaped as crescent moons

“Huh, I guess I get that.” He leaned back in the seat a bit, smiling at the confused expression “being Bruce Wayne’s adopted son? I have people holding me to impossible standards and treating me like a spoiled brat. I was born into riches and adopted into richer, everyone makes assumptions, but that doesn’t mean I have to live up to those”

With a soft grin, he tilted his head “so what, people can think whatever they want. But just like people think I’m a spoiled rich kid, you don’t have to be scared of what people think about you. Cause honestly? I just met you and already think you’re awesome.”

The limo came to a stop and Tim held out his hand “so let’s both enjoy ourselves tonight, and only for ourselves”

Taking his hand, Danny nodded, a smile just barely wide enough to see a flash of a fang “yeah, let’s.”

Everyone froze as a elegant limo pulled up to the front of the school as they waited for the prom to officially start so they could go in

No one could pull their eyes away as the door opened and two figures dressed like royalty stepped out, grinning like mad men at the disbelieving stares

Because that, those two males that just stepped out of the luxury limo? None other than the nobody Danny Fenton and Tim Fucking Drake-Wayne!

Yet everyone couldn’t help but admit that the Casper High Main Loser was giving of more of a presence than Dash the day after he won a big game

Together they looked like a pair of princes, their suits adorned with boutonnières that matched the other’s tuxedo to a tee

Soon the school yard was alight with chatter, pictures flashing from every angle as the walked hand in hand towards Sam Manson and Tucker Foley

Sam was in a black asymmetrical dress that faded to a dark purple at the ends and hair pulled into a elegant bun, decorated with purple pearls, two strands framing her face. On her wrist was a familiar corsage

Tucker, who Tim recognized from the flower shop, had a more Egyptian styled suit, mainly black with gold accents and a sapphire blue scarab pin on his breast pocket, the boutonnière pinned nicely to his suit

Danny smiled at them, still holding Tim hand as he walked next to him with a cocky expression

“Hey guys, you look amazing!”

Sam raised a brow, looking him up and down “we look amazing? Have you looked in a mirror mister ‘prince of stars’?”

“Doesn’t help that you’re literally walking hand in hand with literal Gotham royalty.” The techie teases, making the bright blush return

“Oh.. I’m sorry Tim” he tried to pull away his hand, freezing when his hand tightened

Grinning at him, he shook his head “don’t worry about it Astral, I don’t mind holding your hand” mentally adding ‘to show these nobodies you’re mine…’

Oh… well, guess he was already attached… that might become problematic, but that’s a future Tim problem

Lost in his thoughts, Tim didn’t realize how the nickname had Danny literally glowing, his face scarlet red and freckles glowing with a soft white light. He had to take a deep breath to calm down enough for the light to subside before he looked back up

Right as Tim returned from his mind, an announcement rung out through the yard

“The gymnasium is officially open for prom! Make your way there now please”

Some teens broke into sprints, some walking with their groups, and others still staring in disbelief and envy at the two males

Tim stepped forward first, waving his free hand in front of him “shall we?”

A small snort answered, the sound absolutely adorable in the CEOs mind, smiling as his date nodded “we shall.”

Sam and Tucker rolled their eyes at the two, following behind them and gossiping about how hard Danny was crushing on the boy in front of them

The gym was decorated with balloons and streamers at every glance, glitter sparkling in the lights that moved around the room with the music, everything having a slightly Hollywood theme

Tim had to admit, for a small town high school, the prom was pretty impressive. There was even a small food table with a large bowl of punch

In the corner of the room he saw two woman, one with orange hair and brown eyes, and another with blonde hair and glasses

Noticing his gaze, Danny smiled “that’s Mikey’s moms, they volunteer to help. Freshman prom my parents were the chaperones, ancients it was a disaster.” He laughed

“What happened?”

“My mom and dad practically commandeered the dance floor and embarrassed me. I don’t think I’ve ever recovered. I actually skipped school the next day out of fear of what people would say” he admitted sheepishly, Tim basking in the adorable sight

He leaned a bit closer, their arms fully touching “hey, at least that didn’t happen this year, right”

Danny scoffed a laugh “knock on wood” he tapped his foot, chuckling a bit

Sam and Tucker had been pulled away by Sam’s goth poetry group, them all comparing outfits from the look of it

So, Danny pulled Tim over to a less occupied corner and leaned against the wall, readjusting their hands so their pinky’s were linked

For a while they exchanged interests. Danny told him his love for astronomy and astronomy, talking about nights where he’d gone stargazing

In turn, Tim told Danny he enjoyed skateboarding and parkour, talking about how it was actually really fun to to free running through Gotham

Turn out they both enjoyed photography due to their respective hobbies, properly exchanging numbers so they could send each other the pictures they’ve taken

A sudden text from the Batfam group chat drew Tim’s attention, a glare making its way onto his face

Dick had ated him and exclaimed how excited he was that Tim was getting to experience prom, everyone else soon logging on to demand a picture because quote ‘picture or it didn’t happen’

Groaning, Danny glanced at him with that adorably innocent expression that should be impossible for such a tall and handsome guy

“Are you okay Tim?”

“Yeah, it’s just that my sister ratted on me about going to prom and are demanding that I send a picture of us together because they don’t believe I got a date. As if I’d just crash a random prom by myself”

Honest to gods giggles came from the teen and he grinned “we can send a quick selfie if you wanted,” Tim could hear the building pause in his tone “or we could have a bit of fun with it~”

Eyes following where Danny was pointing, Tim’s eyes lit up with mischief. A large photo op area was set up with a chaste lounge from a drama movie

“Do we want to do serious ones or Brucie photo op” Tim asked, mentally begging for the latter

Raising a brow, Danny smirked dangerously “which one will piss off your siblings more?”

“Brucie it is” Tim and Danny dragged Sam over to take pictures, the photographer seeing Tim and simply letting them do what they wanted

Before they started, Tim leaned forward and unbuttoned the first few buttons of Danny black shirt and completely undoing the buttons of his shirt jacket

Tim ran a hand through his own hair to make it look messy, Sam snickering at the nervous blush on Danny’s face as Tim adjusted how he was sitting on the lounge

“Hand tossed over the back- yeah, just like that. Now legs spread- yes you have to, it’s an iconic pose. Okay perfect. Tilt your head up, okay, now look at the camera. No keep your head tilted, but look with your eyes- perfect!”

Walking behind him, the young billionaire draped his arms around Danny’s neck, placing one hand on his chest and the other holding his chin

Danny took a shaky breath, Tim whispering to look stoic as he leaned against him from behind, grinning

After a few in that pose, Tim went about directing him in a pose of laying across it with Tim leaning over him. Then it was a few other ‘provocative’ poses

By the time they were finished they had drawn a huge crowd of people, almost all in various states of shock in seeing Danny Fenton and Tim Drake doing what could only be described as pinup photos

More pictures were later posted and ended up trending within the hour

They were both breathless from laughing by the end, laughing picking up ten fold when they sent it in the group chat and it exploded in ‘wtf’s and other exclamations of shock from all his siblings

The funniest message is Danny’s opinion was from the person named ‘Blood Son’ saying that at least they knew who took after ‘father’

It wasn’t till thirty minutes later that they finally called down, Tim muting the chat and smiling at him “want to grab some punch? My throat is sore from laughing so much”

Still recovering from giggles, Danny nodded, absently grabbing Tim’s hand and walking towards the food table

Only to run straight into the one person he was hoping to avoid. Apparently Dash was running late because he had just walked in, basic black suit with only a red tie and a honestly sad looking boutonnière pined in the wrong place

His grip tightened around Tim’s hand, shifting to hide him behind himself

Realizing who he just ran into, he glared up, because Danny was now taller than him, at him with a sneer “watch it Fentoad! You better not ruin my suit with your filth!”

Remember his suit, he glanced down and remembered the fact it was still undone, fixing it as he spoke calmly “relax Dash, I’m just grabbing some punch.” As if to emphasize his point, his voice sounded deep and rough

A cruel smirk spread across the jocks face, cracking his knuckles “oh, I can get you some punch.”

Looking up, Danny barely had time to process the fist coming towards him face before it was grabbed from the side and twisted behind his back. Tim’s face was twisted in a dark sneer

“Don’t you dare even touch him!” That sure drew a crowd, even Paulina who had just walked in with Dash looked over and went pale “if you raise even a finger towards him and I find out, I will ruin you… do I make myself clear?”

Yep, Danny was officially swooning. Pretty guy that could kick his ass? Fucking check~

Meanwhile Dash was on the verge of tears as Tim twisted a bit tighter “who the hell even are you?!”

“Tim Drake,” he answered coldly “Son of Gotham prince Bruce Wayne, teenage CEO of Wayne Enterprises, and the date of one Daniel Fenton”

Dash’s eyes went wide, staring at him in disbelief “you’re dating Fetony?! Why!?”

“Plenty of reasons. Hot, kind, attentive, fun to be around, did I mention really hot? Why wouldn’t I?”

“Because he’s a freak!” Danny froze, hand instinctively covering his mouth as he looks away from Tim and fought tears “have you even seen him!? The freak has fangs and creepy pointed ears!”

“So?” Wait what? Looking up, Tim was still stone calm “fangs are frankly attractive as hell and actually pretty normal, and pointy ears? Ever heard of elves? One of the highest ranked mythical creatures on an attractive scale”

all around the people whispered and shrugged, ultimately nodding in agreement

So, twisting his arm one last time, Tim let go and walked back over to him and grabbed his hand “any other reasons? Cause frankly I’m welcome to debate. If not, we’re getting some punch”

Not wanting for a reply, Tim dragged him away to the food table and grabbed two cups, filling them and handing one to him

All together, not a horrible encounter

For a while they stayed in their little corner, talking and getting to know each other more with stupid little stories from over the years

That was, until, Sam practically dragged them to the dance floor and demanded they actually take part in the main event of prom and dance together

And that how they ended up dancing a waltz, large group dancing, rave dancing, and eventually a slow dance

Hands still connected, Danny put a arm around Tim’s waist, Tim doing the same around his shoulder

“You do know how to slow dance right? No matter how many times it happens, it still sucks having your feet stepped on.” Tim asked, staring up at him warmly

Snorting, Danny laughed “yes. If slowed danced enough times with Sam for practice that I have it memorized” he replied, swinging him out a bit and twirling him as he pulled him back

“Hm, not bad, but can you keep up?” Tim picked up pace with the music, and glancing over at the DJ booth, he rolled his eyes at Sam

But always one to go with the flow, he followed Tim’s example and sped up

Without noticing, everyone was backing away to give them room and a spot light was aimed at them

Swinging, twisting, twirling, they went through every motion until they were panting in a bow, faces inches away from each other

And without questioning, Tim leaned up and locked his lips in his own. Danny thoughts were speeding a mile a minute. Was this really happening? What does this mean? Is he allowed to enjoy this?

Instead of pulling away, Danny pulled them up and dived deeper into the kiss, Holding him tight around the waist while Tim cupped his cheeks

His hair started floating and he was sure his freckles were glowing, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care

As he finally pulled back, he blinked down at Tim, the man grinning at him “yeah, fangs? Super hot.”

He couldn’t help it, he laughed pushing Tim gently and cackling, quickly sobering when everyone started cheering and whistling

Face hot rod red, he groaned “everyone saw that, didn’t they?”

“I’d be more surprised if they missed it Astral, but I don’t regret anything.”

Even as he looked around at everyone cheering or pouting, he couldn’t find it in himself to disagree, instead he just pulled him back into his arms and pressed another quick kiss to his cheek

After that they called it for dancing, going over to sit on the bleachers for a little while

If this is what prom is, Tim regrets never going before, but he’s pretty sure it’s only this much fun because of Danny. The boy who’s currently leaning against his side with his eyes closed

Sighing, he pulls out his phone, opening the chat and sending a picture of the teen laying against him

Immediately it exploded again

Before it could get any farther, he turned off his phone and leaned his head against Danny’s, the other humming in question

“Just my siblings, don’t worry about it.” He rapped his fingers against his thigh

“Somethings wrong..”

“You’ve only known me a day? How could you tell?” Danny opened one eye, not elaborating, but not relenting either “fine. I know I kissed you and you kissed me back, but what does that mean?”

Danny sat up, stretching “what do you want it to mean? I’ve had a crush on you since I was twelve, even if I didn’t realize it at the time, so I can’t lie and say it wouldn’t be my dream to date you. But what about you?”

Thinking, Tim liked the sound of dating, but last time with Steph left him wary… If they ended up breaking up could they still be friends?

So, taking a Deep breath, he looked up at him “I think… I want to try dating at least, but no matter what stay friends.”

And then that smile came back, Danny nodding “I’d like that too
