i need to see a hell of a lot more of the tricks that johnny taught Kit, i need him to be the person johnny raised him to be every once in a while and i need Ty to be super impressed with Kits negotiating skills, his thievery skills, him being a con artist, tricking people or whatever and—what if every now and then Kit lifts something off Ty and gives it back later when Ty is looking for it— we got some of that in qoaad but what if instead of Kit hiding the person that johnny made him maybe he embraces him and helps with the mission

right now the group chat has decided on tussk, the kwami of vexation, who hasn't been drawn yet (maybe tomorrow)
"ancient kwami" is a bit of a misnomer, but it sounds good, so...When i say ancient kwami im talking about kwamis that haven't made it to the modern era ! A kwami is created by tying a little bit of the primordial consciousness to an object by channeling a concept into an object. It's a ritual older than writing that's mainly been lost to time and purposeful erasure. All kwamis are the same age (big bang and onward) but their miraculouses's vary.
they're pretty "them's the breaks" about it. It's not like they actually died, they're just not in the physical world anymore.
miraculouses don't tend to be created in batches. The idea of miracle boxes was created by the Order as an organization system. In their early days, they were mainly about confiscating miraculouses and getting the knowledge on how to make more forgotten. Order, people, order !
He does ! He's pretty cuddly, it's not his fault he's a wolf :(
the order made sure there were no kwamis left in the old world (they were working on the americas but then Feast happened lol) that wasn't under their control (as far as they knew) (go read this) by the time the 18th century rolled around so thankfully they weren't !
huuuuuuuh No name would be charcoal on paper, Habibi's tapestry, Kanne's toreutics and Uulfr is colored pencils !
you couldn't tell from looking at them, but no name gets a kick out of scaring people, so they'd probably just go out and glare at people. Habibi is a nasty little freak but also a bleeding heart so she'd do a lot of volunteering with vulnerable people, and she'd be sooooo annoying about it, like you WILL hear about her day hanging out with cancerous kids in a way that makes you want everyone involved dead. Kanne's at the casino 24/7, and she's flexing on everyone till she gets kicked out for being too drunk. She fucking loves crypto, she just sits at home and predicts when it's going to crash. Uulfr doesn't like his powers very much. The voice mimicry's a fun party trick, but it stops there.
No name fucking looooooves salmon, but they won't eat it in front of you. And they won't share. It's theirs, fuck off. If Kanne doesn't get her fancy tuna, she starts throwing vases at your head. Habibi has a sweet tooth so she really likes dates and Uulfr says it's apple pies, but it's really sashimis.
thanks for all the questions guys !!

AAAAA im thinking about Ingo in Legends Arceus again. They really fucking did that. Im so insane about it, like-
Okay. So. You have this preestablished thing in Pokémon called Fallers. Basically its people who fell into the pokemon world from an entirely different universe. Sometimes theyre alternate versions of known characters. The one thing they all have in common is that they remember nothing from before they fell.
With me so far? Good.
Now we move onto Legends Arceus. Here we are, some hundred or so years in the distant past, exploring the wonderful land of Hisui when, hold on, is that Ingo? The train man? You're in the wrong time period, my guy! And what's that? His memory's gone? Damn that sucks, alt-Ingo got a real shitty deal when he Fell. Trains haven't even been invented yet smh.
Anyway, case closed. Just another Faller making the best of what they have. Cool, but nothing new, lets move on right?
Except. Maybe not.
You see, this "Hisui" region has a little bit more going on with it. Its actually the ancient version of the modern day Sinnoh region, and theres all kinds of fun little details tying the two together: location names, area themes, little nods to Sinnoh myths and pokedex entries, the whole nine yards. Huge gen 4 nostalgia trip. Theres even a bunch of characters that are just blatantly ancestors of important DPPt characters. And you betcha the pokemon match as well!
Yeah, thats cool, but what does this have to do with Ingo again? Weelll, turns out, two of those gen 4 pokemon makin a comeback just so happen to be the gods of time and space. And things have gone a bit fucky with them.
There are these things called "space-time distortions" going around, popping up all over the place, sitting there lookin like big, spooky soap bubbles, and spitting out objects and pokemon from all over the timeline. We're talking dinosaurs and data viruses. Because of these things, Porygons technically existed before the computers that birthed them. And while its never explicitly stated that they're how Ingo got there, how else do you suppose the New Yorker ended up in feudal Japan?
"Alright, that makes sense, but didn't you say he lost his memory? Isn't that kinda a whole thing with fallers?"
Oh yeah, right, thanks for catching that! I guess this was a bust after all. Time travel's not exactly new to the pokemon universe, and it doesn't usually cause memory loss, barring extenuating circumstances. (Ingo didn't turn into a pokemon, so I think we're safe on that front) This isn't even the first time Dialga's gone mad, actually! He must really be a Faller then. I mean, what are the odds that Ingo just tripped into a random space-time distortion, only to run into something entirely unrelated that just so happens to be well known for erasing memories, perfectly replicating the symptoms of a Faller?
Buckle up, this is where things get interesting.
So, when Ingo faceplanted in Hisui, he got picked up by this group called the Pearl Clan. They're this native tribe that worships Palkia, but like, under the wrong name, and they think Dialga's a false version of their god worshipped by these other natives, and they're actually kind of both right, except not, because they thought the were actually worshipping the creator god, Arceus, and it's this WHOLE thing. That's not important. What matters is that they picked up Ingo. Just. Remember that. Pearl grabbed Ingo.
Now, aside from the two big gods and their good ol' poppa Arceus, there's actually another trio of minor gods who took care of smaller business. Relatively. They like to rest at the bottom of three lakes spread around the region, and each one represents a certain gift they were said to have given to the world: Uxie, God of Knowledge; Mesprit, God of Emotion; Azelf, God of Willpower. When Arcues made them, the went out, did their thing, gave their gift, then went straight to bed in their lakes, where they stayed for... pretty much ever. Yeah, these guys are actually pretty chill. Apparently theyre tied for highest base friendship out of all pokemon?
Getting back to the Pearl clan, their camp in the Alabaster Icelands is actually pretty close to Lake Acuity! Way closer than any other settlements are to the lakes, at least.
I know what you're thinking: "What does ANY of this have to do with Ingo's memories??" Well, there's one more thing we need to cover about the lake trio. Y'see, there's this little myth about them, hidden away on a shelf in the back of modern day Canalave library. As calm and relaxed as they usually are, its easy to forget that they're still gods. Powerful gods. Direct decendants of Arcues themself, embodiments of the very gifts which they gave unto the world. The myth goes that, should someone be foolish enough to raise their hand against the lake gaurdians, they would quickly find that those gifts can be taken away.
Harm Azelf, and find yourself as still as stone, drained of even the willpower needed to move. Touch Mesprit, and find yourself in a pointless world, drained of all emotions, joyless and empty.
…Look into Uxie's eyes, and find yourself lost and confused, fallen into a world unknown, without even the knowledge to find your way back to a home you can't remember.
...Yeah
Hisui is plaqued by Distortion, ripping creatures out of their proper Time and Space. Uxie makes their home at the bottom of Lake Acuity, just outside where the Pearl Clan makes camp. The Pearls found Ingo alone, no memory of his past, no evidence of how he came to them.
So you see now. How I might be a little obsessed.
Oh, are you still wondering if he's actually a Faller or not? Well…
I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA!
This was the first game he appeared in since Black and White 2, and he hasn't been mentioned since! His story is never expanded on!!!
He's probably? not??? Unless he fell out of an ultra wormwhole and into a distortion?? And the ultra beasts couldn't find him??? They literally NEVER hint at a possible cause for his arrival in game, I think. We're just. Left. With this.
What the fuck.
#ingo#warden ingo#subway boss ingo#pokemon legends arceus#um#holy shit#i have NO IDEA where this came from??#i just#saw some cool art that got me thinking about ingo#and i started ranting about him in my head when i paused and thought#''Oh shit ive got a lot to say actually. i should write this down''#and then it turned into this???#i haven't even been into pokemon recently?!?#what happened to the fucking Sonic hyperfixation brain?????#also in case you cant tell i love the lake trio#im really proud of how i presented the myth#my writing#< i guess??#anyway uh#enjoy lmao???

throwing brainworms out there bc i did a little comparison with the japanese translation, and the result is that this has been picking at my brain since this afternoon... bec idk if it's just me??? but i think it was written so beautifully 😭✋
okay so.
— 繋がれた凧は、遠い空へ飛べないものだ。永遠に。
AS A SIDE UPDATE NOW THAT THE ANECDOTE IS OUT, BTW— NOW WE KNOW THAT THIS IS A DIALOGUE THAT CALEB SAYS HIMSELF. HE S AY S I T HIMSE L F. i think that hits hard. like really hard. like.. truly. makes this more heartbreaking 😭😭😭😭😭
to my knowledge.
and i say this as NOT a native speaker and someone who just studies the language casually from time to time SO THIS IS TOTALLY A DISCLAIMER... and also that if any native japanese speakers find this please correct me where im wrong omg ajcjjsjf
but... to my knowledge, okay.
the translation kinda goes "a tethered kite can't fly so far into the sky forever, that's just the way it is."
or more literally, "a kite that's tethered/restrained (heavy emphasis on restriction), flying far into the sky is something it obviously/naturally can't do (or shouldn't be able to do) forever."
and that's just the literal translation but the explanation of it kinda just goes SO HARD???????? its such a BEAUTIFUL way of putting it too, you have to hear me out.
and it's, fundementally, the same thing.
"a tethered kite will never reach the far sky" — absolutely nothing wrong with the english translation. in fact i think they did a pretty good job!!!! the point gets across nevertheless!!!!
but also it's super simplified? you have to make more of an effort to Read Between The Lines to Get It, because you can just take the sentence at face value.
but in jp it carries a different weight... cause it kinda frames it in this delicate way that's also in-your-face about the fact that it implies something else.
LIKE HEAR ME OUT OK to the best of my ability i'll try to,,, break it down,,,,, ahfjannf because that's where the meaning of it truly shines through!!!!!
the first part of the sentence, before the comma, has "繋がれた凧は" or "tsunagareta tako wa". essentially this refers to the tethered kite, with the particle "wa" there to indicate that the tethered kite is the subject of the sentence. this is important because of how the words "monoda" (naturally) and "eien ni" (forever) are used later on.
which, also—"tethered" is a great word for the translation of "tsunagareta" actually. tsunagareta comes from "tsunagu" which (in my understanding, at least.....) generally means link/fasten/connect/similar words. it can mean tying two objects together or two people or even two emotions, so it's kiiinda abstract? but also it can be heavy on the implication of being tied.... with the intention of restraining/restricting. kinda like tied by a leash, those vibes? and then the word "tethered" in english, according to google, means to "tie (an animal) with a rope or chain so as to restrict its movement". which fits in with what tsunagareta is trying to convey in this sentence!
the next part of the sentence is 遠い空へ, with tooi+sora+e. "tooi" for far/distant and "sora" for sky, and then the particle "e" to signify direction.
so like,,, the subject of the sentence—the tethered kite—is moving towards the direction of the distant sky.
but then the next part of the sentence is 飛べない, "tobenai", from "tobu" to fly, +"nai" a negative modifier, to overall mean can't fly.
so then— the subject of the sentence, which is the tethered kite, can't move towards the direction of the distant sky.
BUT THERE'S MORE!?!?!??!!!
becAUSE THE NEXT PART OF THE SENTENCE. IS. ものだ. MONODA. I YELLED AT THE USE, BECAUSE IT'S GENIUS.
generally the sentence is fine without it.... like, "a tethered kite can't fly towards the distant sky." IT'S FINE, IT WORKS?? IT MAKES SENSE? YOU COULDTOTALLY LEAVE IT AT THAT AND ITS BASICALLY THE SAME THING ANYWAY—
BUT THEY CHOOSE TO STRENGTHEN IT.
without monoda, the statement works as like........ a simple statement. like it's just, eh. yeah that exists, whatever. flippant vibes? casual vibes i guess? (<- bc i don't know how else to explain it 😭)
BUT WITH MONODA????????
so, "mono" means "thing" usually, but like in this case it kinda turns a verb ("tobenai"/can't fly) into a noun. so it's becomes kinda like... a state of being? like "the state of being unable to fly"? it's no longer a verb, but the verb turns into a noun— which is why the particle "da" is there, because it then links the tethered kite (the main subject) with this added descriptor (the state of not being able to fly).
(the main subject: the tethered kite) is in (the state of not being able to fly).
and it's important, because in the japanese language when you put it all together, it kinda implies that like... this is something that occurs naturally. 'obviously, it's like this.' or, 'yeah that's just how it is.' or, 'this thing is unavoidable.' or, 'this is a universal understanding.' it's like an assertion, like it just really emphasizes that this thing is so, so normal that it can't be anything else.
so like— "it's normal for a tethered kite to be unable to fly to the distant sky".
AND THEN
THERE'S MORE.
永遠に。 eien ni. forever.
it took me a while to understand this, because when the eng translation says "never" but jp says "forever".... it doesnt click you know?
but then "eien ni" signifies something eternal, something permanent. its essentiallly that the passage of timestretches on eternally, or for a time that doesn't end.
and god did it take a while to understand how it fits here but i think i GET IT. like. now the way i understand it is that using this at the very end of the sentence modifies the whole damn thing and emphasizes the permanence of it.
as in, the whole sentence becomes, "as it should, and as it is meant to be, a tethered kite cannot fly into the distant sky. this is a permanent fact."
implying that nothing will change it.
nothing will change it.
it's going to stay like that... forever.
and it feels like it's a delicate way of saying "never", because like— it could've been, like, kesshite tobenai, or something, which would've been more "never able to fly". it'd be kind of a more aggressive assertion of the absolute finality or impossibility that this won't happen, just like how the word " never" in english also puts out a very aggressive finality to the sentence.
but instead, this sentence goes through all this, to delicately lay over that, yes. a tethered kite can't do this. it's a fact, that we all know, and it's going to stay that way forever. so obviously it's just never going to reach the far sky. that's just the way it is.
and then like, also,,,, "monoda",,,, apparently it's used in a lot of proverbs? so it's known to add a sort of Extra Layer to the sentence. like, that Extra Layer is hinted at in the way it's WRITTEN. it says hey this thing you read just now isn't what it seems at first glance, read it again, between the lines this time.
AND WHEN YOU RELATE THAT?? WITH CALEB??????
this entire sentence emphasizes lack of freedom.
it's the nature of a kite to fly. but because it is tethered... then, it's also the nature of a tethered kite to not beable to fly anymore. it can't reach the far sky—it can't reach its full potential. and then it goes so far as to add "forever"? like it cements in this loss of potential? that it's permanent?
because now it's going to be like this forever.
there's an element of loss, something hopeless. because it's already like this, then there's nothing that you can do.
i feel like that hopelessness is something that the word "never" isn't going to convey as accurately.
and for the caleb that we know... all his restrictions, and the toring chip—all the desire there is for the people around him to control him...
it implies that he's never going to have that full sense of control anymore.
it implies that it's just like that, it's going to just be like that from now on.
and what can he do about it?
nothing.
he can fly, a little. he can do what he wants, a little. but not to the distant sky. not to his full potential. and that's something that he will never, ever, ever get to do again. something he will never, ever, ever get back again.
that's just how it is.
and now that we know this is caleb's dialogue.......
do you see what i mean when he... he says this himself... he perceives it himself that... he can't... do anything... about it.. .anymore... he sees... he's stating this as a universal fact... he......
#guys...#ive been thinking about it for the whole day 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭#AKFJJWNFBSJFJJED#any native jp speakers out there please correct me if i messed up on some part bc omg ajfjsjfjs these are just my brainworms atp#but i dont trust my knowledge of the japanese language enough for this to be completely accurate either 😭😭😭😭😭#(this user thinks about caleb daily)#lnds garden 🌹#lndthonks 🌹#love and deepspace caleb#lads caleb#lnds caleb#l&ds caleb#love and deepspace#lads#lnds

Genya Shinazugawa x Fem! Demon! Reader

P.1 Here
Pride is an illusion.
Genya realized this once the truth came to light.
He realized you were like Nezuko. Not harming humans or devouring them like he thought. Despite being Muzan’s offspring and first creation as a demon, you’d withheld your desires and nature longer than any other. In a way, you were allies.
That realization came with another.
“A-ah~ nghh—!”
“Such a good puppy, they’re all in now.”
His ass felt so full it was unbelievable they’d all actually fit inside him, only the long furry leather tail end swinging between his legs now was out. The cool heavy glass beads looked frightening when you’d first spoke of where you’d put them, but as he wiggled his hips, Genya couldn’t help but pant like the animal you likened him to. Tongue out as drool pooled onto the floor below, head dizzy as his fingers dug into the bedding below.
“Bad boy.” A harsh and startling tug on his neck jerked his attention upward to where you stood. The fine leather collar around his neck was turning his pale skin beneath it red from how often you’d tugged on it today. The silver delicate chain attached to the collar ran a rope and led up to your hand which held the end. A leash.
“Eyes on me.” Your order is absolute. He can’t—doesn’t want to—disobey. Not when you make him feel like this, not when you’re so beautiful even as you frown down at him.
“W-woof—!” His bark still needs work, a little awkward and timid, but it was cute how enthusiastic he seemed to be about it, smile crooked and eyes a bit blurry with tears. His long lashes held the soft dew like crystals decorating them, and his flushed and sweaty skin broke up his intimidating appearance. You cooed down at him, crouching a bit to pet the soft line of hair that wasn’t shaven in the middle, pushing a few strands off his forehead which had gotten stuck during his insertion process.
“Be good for me puppy, I’m going to go get a new toy for us to play with.” Then you left, leaving Genya still on all fours, his ass full of the anal bead tail you’d fucked him with, and the tight rope around his cock turning the poor appendage a dark red as it pathetically leaked pre-cum.
He trembled and panted, and an enormous part of him needed to untie the damn rope around his cock so he could finally cum, but another half of him fought against that disobedient desire. He didn’t want to see the look of disappointment on your face, nor did he think he could handle it.
You came back quickly, which he was grateful for as his urges were becoming near unbearable in his solitude. He was also very proud he hadn’t broke, because you came back completely naked. His eyes widening and soaking up your nude figure, his swollen cock jumping in another plea to cum but especially inside of you.
“Is puppy excited? I bet you wish you could put your little puppy cock inside me, but that can wait another day.” You held something in your hand, and it took his brain a moment to register the phallus shaped object. “I have a new game we can play.” Then you were using a dark red silk and tying it around your waist, his eyes tracking each movement with pure rapture as more drool slid down his jaw without his knowledge, mouth parted as you wove the silk around your thighs and back up. Once it was secure and tight, there a leather holster he realized that allowed you to slide the phallus made from some type of jade into it. It was smooth and riderless unlike an actual cock, and he was dumbfounded when you stood before him with it jutting out proudly.
“Suck it.”
“…?” His silent question received no answer, as you didn’t repeat yourself. Just gave him time to process the new command.
Genya cautiously moved, as if you’d reach out and grab him any second, but you didn’t. You remained perfectly still and poised as he crawled up to you, no sitting up so he could reach properly, whining a bit as the beads shifted in his ass and massaged his prostate. His rough hands lightly touched your soft thighs as he leaned in and tentatively licked the fake cock. His eyes looking into your own the entire time, so unsure and worried of making a mistake you took mercy and pet his hair, encouraging him.
“Good dog, my good boy. Open wide and take it in your mouth.” He obeyed, relaxing under your soft touch on his head, letting the cool object in his mouth and sucking. He looked adorable sucking on your strap, his inexperience completely made up by his eagerness to please as he even began swirling his tongue and acting like it was a true cock. His hips wiggled, eyes rolling back a bit as the beads filled him with pleasure and his achy cock begged for release. He was so engrossed he hardly noticed when you rocked your hips and slid it even deeper, hand tangled in his hair keeping him in place as his eyes watered more and he gaged.
“Look at you puppy, choking on my strap. Get me nice and wet.” He obeyed, slobbering all over it until you pulled it out of his hot mouth with a wet squelch, his drool connecting it still until you took a full step back.
You motioned with your hand for him to turn around, his body moving instinctively and twisting around back onto all fours. His chest rising and falling as excited budded inside his heart. He jerked as you grasped his tail and pulled the first bead out, but was soon gasping and moaning as you repeated it with the rest, arms trembling so much he could hardly keep his upper body raised. You soothed a hand down his spine, his body relaxing as you gently pressed his chest to the floor, leaving his ass raised and in perfect position for you. His broad muscular back slightly damp from his sweat, scars littering him. Genya nearly mewled when you kissed his back, so feather soft and sweet, right over a prominent scar across his spine he nearly died from.
“Brave puppy. Just relax for me.” You took the beads completely out of his twitching stretched ass, lining up the tip of your strap against the fluttering hole and waiting until Genya fully went pliant for you.
Then he’s crying out, a loud drawn out moan as you sink inside his ass, filling him even more than the beads or your fingers ever had.
“Oh f-fuck—!” One eye nearly shuts as he gasps and struggles to breathe as you bottom out.
A sharp slap to his ass only makes him bear down and feel even fuller, too dumb already on the fake cock to think properly.
“Mutts don’t talk—,” you grip his slim hips, drawing out slowly.
“They howl,” and then you’re slamming into him, rough and fast you’re drawing him into a frenzy as he does howl, gripping for purchase he doesn’t have as you buck your hips and drive into him.
“M-master please—!” He needs to cum, he’s going to cum, if the damn rope was just loosened a little he could—
“No. Slutty puppies don’t beg like that.”
He’s going crazy. He feels so full and his balls feel like they’re going burst if he isn’t allowed to cum soon.
Tears spill down his cheeks, eyes going crossed as you fuck him into a whiny moaning mess, tongue limp as his mouth hangs open smushed against the floor. “W-woof—,” it’s more a pathetic croak than any actual dog noise. When he moves to untie his cock himself, his arm is quickly snatched and twisted around, pinned to the middle of his back down and giving you more leverage to pound his hole.
“Woof—! C-Cum pl-pleash—!” He’s a mess, short circuiting the longer he’s denied his orgasm, but you only chuckle, even cruelty gripping his poor cock and squeezing to hear him squeal. His spine arching so deeply you wonder if it hurts.
“Dumb puppies should know the only time they speak is when commanded.” You squeeze again, his wail of pleasured pain making your hips stutter and hit even deeper inside of him due to his jerky thrashing.
“Speak puppy.”
“Ma-Master please—! Let me cum! I need FUCK—!” You lean over him, soft body pressed against his back but the angle shifts and your strap hits directly against his sensitive prostate. Genya is nothing if not vocal about it, “OH FUCK FU—Ah~! Pl-Oh, ngh—! Let me—ah, cum Master, please—!” It’s pathetic wet begging, spit and drool covering his face as you rock into him and smear his head he can no longer lift into it, his own tears like rivers down his pretty red face trying to look back at you.
He really screams when you release the little knot around the rope keeping his cock from bursting.
“Cu-cumming~ oh fuck, ngh—!” He sounds nearly wounded as you continue thrusting into him, his cock jerking and spurting hot ropes of cum over his chest and the ground, hips rolling back into you for more.
You don’t stop even as he lies spent beneath you, only slowing to a languid pace as he pants and catches his breath.
“You okay puppy?”
“Y-yes Master”
“Good boy” you coo, petting his hair while fucking him softer now.
“Let’s do that again. I want you on your back this time.”
His whimpers are drowned by the night you thrive in.

ok so i’ve watched a stream of chapters 3 and 4 and also read a bunch of posts about them and now that i’ve had some time to process i have a variety of Thoughts
said Thoughts are very spoilery and also very long, so i’ll place them under a read more:
note: i missed the first 15 minutes or so of chapter 3 because i was slightly late to the stream, so i’m not going to comment on that until i’ve had a chance to go back and watch a video of it.
alright so starting with tenna: he’s fun! i didn’t really follow All of the theorizing about him so i wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but he’s definitely Completely dissimilar to the little sprite hint we got (the tv face with the big grin and spamton eyes) despite nominally having all of these features on account of being a fucking. 3d model?
i love this. fucking hilarious design choice. no idea how i’m supposed to translate it to fanart without losing the impact but that’s a me problem lmao. his stupid little dances, him growing or shrinking for comedic purposes, the fucking. 3d text? god he’s so good
you can also really see why him and spamton would get along (and have an explosive break-up) - they are very much the same brand of guy. in a lot of ways tenna feels like we’re seeing what spamton would have been if we’d met him before his fall from grace. i’ve seen some people complaining about how similar they are but tbh i like it. they very much feel like foils to one another i think
it’s fun how darkners get knowledge of things that happened around the objects they’re created from. it’s especially fun how this means tenna had a front seat to the dreemurr divorce drama!
i was already on board with the theory that each dark world is designed around a different character, but i’m even more in support of it now. the chapter 3 dark world is very obviously built around kris and their lingering Feelings about the divorce and asriel leaving, which they don’t seem to be handling amazingly well
i get the vibe kris wants their parents to get back together and that part of their character arc will probably be accepting that this is a bad idea - tying into deltarune’s existing themes re: decay and inevitability and accepting loss
if not kris, asgore definitely seems to be on this track, jumping ahead a bit to chapter four: whatever happened with dess and with him leaving the police force, he seems to think that if he Just Solves It then everything will go back to how it was before, and i think accepting that life doesn't work like that is going to necessary for him. especially if he ends up being chapter 5's secret boss which is my current pet theory on account of some sus dialogue during the free-roaming soul section and some of gerson’s battle dialogue
or maybe i'm just projecting. could go either way
back to chapter 3: who the FUCK is mike, seriously. is he gaster? is he not gaster? i am increasingly unsure what the fuck is going on there. i'll wait for the theorycrafters and lore analysis guys to catch up on that one. i don't even know if his door opens. hazard of writing this literally the day after the game came out L
the zelda-esque section of chapter 3 is definitely interesting. the secret version even moreso. it felt very fnaf (in a good way) though that might just be because fnaf was my first exposure to that kind of thing. the fact that kris is alone for the secret portions is Very loaded, albeit not in a new way as it went much the same with both spamton neo and the weird route in chapter 2
the fact that in the last section you do actually have susie and ralsei's game characters with you (though still not the real ones) and you have to kill them to progress is Very Something. that entire section was intensely evocative of the weird route, but that bit is a fully original kind of fucked up!
though it's plausible it was just a stand-in for berdly ig. though the penguin thingy seems to be More that it doesn't really carry the same emotional weight so i could definitely see that bit being there to preserve the "you are straight up killing people" aspect of the original weird route
"it was used up. she was used up. you were used up." i'm going to be insane about these lines forever. what the fuck. also: disconcerting implications for the eventual fates of kris and noelle in the weird route! or perhaps the fates of noelle and the soul? tough to say for sure. narrator uses "you" for kris and for us with about equal frequency iirc
the shadow mantle is. uh. a loaded name for it. already made one "taking up the mantle" pun in an art piece i did but that is very much the vibe i'm getting here. suspect in the weird route we may end up taking the place of the normal route's main villain, whether that villain ends up being the knight or gaster or something else
though i think the mantle itself is a neutral item, since kris is just playing a video game so who cares if we're having them kill people? though then again WE'RE just playing a video game… lot of thematic depth to that entire section, honestly. it's definitely capital I Important
toriel remains ignorant of dark worlds and undyne's been fucking kidnapped?? wild shit. i am So curious about the Implications of how worried tenna was about toriel waking up, though. suspect we'll see followthrough on that with her being brought into another dark world at some point and get to learn why tenna was so freaked out about it
also: HOLY FUCK IT'S THE FUCKING KNIGHT WHAT THE SHIT
toby's definitely firmly jossed the theories that deltarune would be an episodic "dark world of the week" type structure with the end of chapter 3 and all of chapter 4, and he starts that by throwing the fucking roaring knight at us as chapter 3's secret boss!
who isn't even a real secret boss, the secret is just that you can actually beat them because they're so fucking difficult!
but at last we have some solid clues to the knight's identity! i'd say at this point there are 3 main possibilities for who it could be, with some allowance for changing my mind if i see a good theory for someone else
option a: dess
a classic theory. i've never been a dessknight truther myself but i'll admit when i first saw the ending of chapter 3 i was fully convinced it was her for a Solid bit of time. like, the knight has antlers, their weapon looks like a bat, dess is associated with the shelter (the official name for the bunker because guess what! we know that now! god so many reveals in these chapters), etc.
however, my conviction that dess was the knight unfortunately only lasted until the stream i was watching finished the holiday house section in chapter 4 because holy fuck. hollllly fuck
option b: carol holiday
first of all, holy shit her name is actually carol we were right! second of all, oh shit she's definitely an antagonist. i'm not going to say she's evil because we all remember how that went with the spade king in chapter one - toby makes a habit of avoiding "evil" characters, and has been doing so since undertale. i would be Very surprised if he suddenly switched gears and made carol a one dimensional villain
she is, however, DEFINITELY an antagonist. also she knows about the soul and appears to be on friendly terms with it?? i wonder if the soul might actually be another frisk style fakeout where the apparent player character is actually a separate entity all-along… i mean doing that for the soul on top of kris would be a hell of a twist but i wouldn't put it past toby to do something like that
anyway carol apparently has a fucking katana according to noelle, and this combined with her apparent knowledge of the soul and the fact that she seems to be who kris called about the guitar given she came home early (something we know is Very unusual for her, she's been established as a workaholic) makes her by far the most likely candidate for the knight right now.
of course, there could still be a fakeout, we all know toby loves defying expectation, but as far as canon evidence? carol is definitely in the lead.
option c: left field option
while the knight being a holiday definitely seems most likely right now, given the antlers, it's not Completely certain. one thing i noticed is that the knight's design is eerily reminiscent of the titan, especially when they do their big attack, which is weird for a lightner? plus they have holes in their hands which we all know is a classic gaster signifier. i don't think the knight Is a titan, as we've been told titans aren't actually sapient and the knight appears to be, but major lore reveals remain a possibility for future chapters, so i'm keeping this option for "something we currently have no way to anticipate"
the knight is apparently in cahoots with kris, given their Extremely sus interaction post "beating" the knight. kris is also in cahoots with an unknown party they contact over the phone. i think it's probably carol both times but again, toby loves curveballs so there's no way to be sure barring more evidence
THE FUCKING SHELTER/BUNKER HOLY SHIT
ok so kris definitely seems to know the code. the code is almost definitely 1225, aka christmas day. we know this and kris knows this and carol knows this and poor susie knows absolutely fuck all, she still thinks she's having her hero's journey she is completely unaware of all the insane nonsense happening in the background
the fact that the code is in dess' guitar and is also, again, christmas fucking day, is further support for the theory that dess has something to do with the shelter. tbh i don't think that even is a theory anymore. it's just true. the exact details are still mysterious as fuck though, please asgore let me look at your conspiracy board
susie is so main character coded it's insane. she is the hero of this story. she gets a solo segment in every chapter, her character arc is perpetually front and center, she's the one who makes dramatic heroic speeches… she's the hero of this story, not us
i think kris will be an antagonist to susie at some point, given their apparent cahoots with the knight, but will ultimately side with susie after some sort of dramatic confrontation and will end the story solidly a hero. i think this partially because of observable facts about them as a character and partially because i think toby is deliberately playing into archetypes with the main heroes, just not the ones you'd initially assume in chapter one
susie is telegraphed as a zuko but she's actually the main hero, kris is telegraphed as the main hero but they're actually a zuko, and ralsei is almost exactly what he looks like but there's several layers of fakeout in between
…is my current read on it, at least. we'll see how things develop.
i'm not really sure how the soul will play into things. we aren't exactly an "evil" character either, at least outside of snowgrave, but the whole possession thing does remain a thing and barring the soul turning out to be its own character outside of us, it can't stay with kris forever because eventually the game has to end
like there's no happy ending with the cast for the soul. we have to leave eventually. the story can't keep going forever. but the context of how we get to the inevitable split will change a lot about it feels. we might be an antagonist or even a full on villain. we might be an antihero whose existence isn't fair to kris but who still tries to do good where we can. we might be something else entirely
deltarune only has one ending, but how we get there will change the context significantly. the more of the story we see, the more i feel like i understand that.
or maybe i'm completely off base who knows
this is over 2000 words long so i'm going to leave off here, but god i have So Many Thoughts. i didn't even get to the gerson thing or the song lyrics or the other gerson thing or the weird route dialogue or the FUCKING TITAN HOLY FUCK-
but no. i must resist. i have finals this week

cna you write Sanji x reader, where Sanji is jealous. So reader wanna buy something for Sanji a birthday and aks zoro to help her with blade knowledge ( she wanna buy him a good kitchen knife) , bur he aussumes she has a crush ?
Sure! Ty for requesting<33
Masterlist
I love you, not him
You have had a crush on a certain love cook for a while. Long enough for Zoro to notice the obvious lovesick looks you sent to him,
“Oi, out of everyone why that swirly brows?
“H-huh??”
When zoro approached you about it,
You finally caved in and asked for his help.
“His birthday is coming up, could you help me?”
“Why me??”
“Because you know the most about blades and since I want to get Sanji some new cooking materials I need your help! Besides I don’t wanna get teased by nami or Robin”
He agreed once you promised him to buy him a lil something for his birthday too
So once the ship docked the two of you went to explore the island together in search of cooking materials
On your way off the ship though, you felt like you were being watched by someone.
|———————————————————————|
“Zoro! What about this one??”
You waved the sharp object around
“No, it’s too long, and stop waving it around!”
He grabbed your hand to stop you before grabbing the knife and putting it back
You sighed
“We’ve been to five shops and we haven’t gotten a single knife for his birthday!”
“We’ll find one eventually if ya stop complaining!”
You glared at him
“Oi y/n..”
“Yea? Did you find one??”
“No, but that love cook has been following us for the past 30 minutes”
He whispered
“What?? SAN-mph!”
He covered your mouth
“SHH! He’ll hear us!”
You slapped his hand away
“Since when??”
“Since we excited the ship”
“And you didn’t say anything??”
He shrugged
“But I think I have a theory,”
“And what’s that?”
He gestured for you to get closer as he leaned down to whisper something to you
“I think that love cook is a little jealous”
You blushed at the thought
‘Jealous? No way! Does he even like me back??’
You turned to face Zoro with blush still on your face which got even worse once you saw movement in a certain bush
“W-why do you think that??”
“Oh Cmon I know you aren’t that stupid to not notice the extra attention he gives you, especially the glares he gave me once we left together toward the first shop”
“H-he did??”
He sighed
“Yes”
You covered your mouth in attempt to hide your blush
“Well moving on, I think I saw a pretty good knife in that shop right there,”
He pointed at a nearby shop
You calmed down you blush as you nodded, heading to the shop
/——————————————————————-\
As you carefully placed the knife in a safe box you couldn’t help but think about what Zoro told you,
‘Extra attention? To me??’
You always thought he didn’t really like you since he was a little more quiet around you, that’s why you wanted his present to be special! And because your slight crush on the cook
When you and Zoro got back from the shopping, you payed a little more attention on Sanji’a behavior, and that’s when you realized that what Zoro said, was true
‘Maybe he really does like me’
You tried not to think about it much since you didn’t want to get your hopes up just in case
Zoro really was helpful the whole day so you decided to give him a little something since he was so much help
You looked yourself on the mirror and eventually got lost in your own thoughts
“Y/n-swan? Are you in here?”
Sanji’s voice interrupted your thoughts
“Yea m here! I’ll come down in a sec!”
You said not looking back as you fixed your makeup/hair
“Y/n-swan! You look lovely as always!”
He said with little hearts in his eyes
“Ah thanks Sanji! Oh! And happy birthday to you birthday boy”
He smiled back warmly
“Ah your too kind y/n-san!”
You giggled
“Oh! I totally forgot! Here”
You grabbed the safe box and gently gave it to him
“I wanted to give you this a little early because I just couldn’t wait!”
“Y/n-san! You shouldn’t have!”
You smiled back at him
“I had to! You deserve it after all!”
He took the box and softly opened it to reveal a sharp yet shiny knife inside along with a little note that read, ‘Happy birthday lover boy’
He blushed softly
“W-when did you get this?”
“Oh I got it yesterday when I got off the island!”
“But you were with Zoro the whole time!”
You tilted your head
“Yea… to get you this, Zoro is an expert on everything sharp yknow?”
You looked at him curiously
“Wait, how’d you know I was with him the whole time?”
He looked down as if he was ashamed
“I-erm…may have thought that you had a crush on that moss head and gotten a little jealous…. Just a little though!”
Your eye’s widened
He stayed quiet blush growing in his cheeks
“I-l…I sorta have got feelings for you y/n-san,”
He kept looking down as if waiting to get rejected
You blushed hard
“I…you do?”
He nodded, still not looking at you
You softly smiled
“M glad! Because I do too!”
He looked at you shocked
“Really?”
“Really”
He kept looking at you, as if expecting something, anything!
“A-and you aren’t kidding?”
“Nope!”
You smiled and carefully approached him before wrapping your arms around him
He hesitantly returned the gesture, both of you still blushing hard
“I love you, not him”

final (long) thoughts about the rpf debacle, as i’ve finally blocked all the major accounts involved
regarding david and michael: they seem like two great guys with great chemistry, and they appear to really care for each other. the nature of their connection, their happiness in their relationships, the details of their personal lives, etc are not for any of us to say. we certainly don't need to analyse every thing they do and every flick of their eyes or use 20 year old tabloid bits to create a story about them being trapped and potentially abused and "clearly" wanting to leave their partners so they can fuck. no one dislikes the theorising because it's m/m, anyone who does has issues to work through. 99% of us dislike it because it's invasive, done without any knowledge of the boundaries or comfort of the people it's about.
regarding georgia: idc what other people say, i think she can actually act. i think it's unlikely that my opinion is biased, given that i actually became aware of her before i even knew who david was (merlin, i was 11). do i think she's the greatest actress who's ever lived? no. do i want to fall at her feet to praise every word she types on her ig? no. to me, her public personality is pretty cool and likeable, and she certainly uses her platform for good things. i don't see evidence that david has an issue with the social media stuff that georgia does, maybe a bit of playful annoyance, but nothing too serious. she does actually say good things about him, quite often. when she says things that could be deemed insulting, it’s nothing unique to david, she does that with practically everyone she posts about. i see absolutely no reason to believe that she's abusive, a baby trapper, that her children dislike her, or that david is miserable with her. i genuinely feel that her "stalker" comments were jokes. based on what she and david have said, it sounds like she was acting like anyone with a crush would, texting the object of her affections and wanting to hang out. in my community, completely normal behaviour is called stalkery, just to poke fun at someone for having a crush, sometimes done in a self-deprecating way. as for the peter davison story and its inconsistencies, idk what to make of that. the claims that she got her "david" tattoo right after they met and that she changed ty's name without input from david are completely unfounded. I've seen no evidence for the name bit, and i've actually found evidence against the tattoo story. i'm not proud of it, but i did go digging through paparazzi photos, and she doesn't actually have the tattoo until later. no one, not even the tabloids, seems to have anything about an open relationship or them not going steady before getting married. the first actual records of those rumours is in the blogs that say the rumours have been around for nearly 20 years. all the "evidence" for these last few things that i've seen cited (or even very boldly linked) is from the trashiest of trashy blog sites with 2004-level web design. i take them with a grain of salt, given that not even the daily mail repeats their stories.
regarding anna: i'm ambivalent towards her. i don't see any obvious great talent as an actress or model, but she also hasn't really done anything that has the opportunity to showcase ability in those fields. i also don’t think she has never before seen levels chemistry with the others, but, again, we’ve hardly seen anything. the claims that she got pregnant through a one night stand seem more widely acknowledged, so maybe that was the case. if that is what happened, i have a few things to say. firstly, did neither of these grown adults have birth control? the baby trapping claims imply that she deliberately sabotaged it, which is an incredibly serious claim that we are in no position to make. within this story, michael apparently met her at an acting school graduation and they hooked up. she would've been in her early-mid 20s and he would have been almost 50… the rpf blogs say that they have no personal bias against georgia and anna, and that they're perfectly willing to call david and michael out on their bullshit, yet (to my knowledge) they haven't said anything about this. if they're really so concerned with the truth, and they believe the graduation hookup story, why not call michael out for it?? they were both adults and while i do believe that healthy relationships with a large age gap are possible, it’s still a bit weird given how they would’ve met. also, there are have been lots of (unconfirmed and contested) allegations that michael is a serial cheater, so what makes these blogs think that he wouldn't also cheat on david in this fantasy world view of theirs? i know that at least 2 of the major blogs believe the cheating stories. i believe that people can be bettered no matter what they've done and that they should get chances, but assuming that he wouldn't cheat in this singular situation seems pretty biased to me.
bottom line, we don't know! this is exactly what i’ve said since the beginning, that we have absolutely no place in these people's lives outside of admiring their accomplishments and supporting their work. please, everyone, chill. by all means, write fun stories on ao3 using the likenesses of david and georgia and michael and anna! i find it uncomfortable, but i don't have real moral objections to fiction that is only intended as fiction. i’ve previously said that we don't have a problem with the georgia/anna shipping jokes because they're jokes, and one of the pf blogs said that it was serious because of an ao3 slash fanfic and that we were only fine with it because it was f/f. correction, we were fine with that because it was purely and entirely fictional. not being presented was an investigation into real life.
i've seen lots of these blogs saying that a video of david and michael having sex could be released and the we'd find a way to brush it off or discount it. flipping this and applying it back, i think that david and michael could hold a press conference declaring that they're not in a relationship, and the blogs would work around it, claiming beards and façades.
quick warning to everyone, digital footprint exists. one blog in particular very casually displays her identity, and someone could easily send her graphic sex stories and claims of abuse about real strangers to potential employers or event hosts. this isn't a threat, i really can't be arsed, but it's something to be aware of, that these things can have real life repercussions.
i want to clarify that the only reason i would be bummed if the theories were true is because it would mean that all four of them would have lived in unhappiness. i don’t dislike the theories, while they do claim a variety of disturbing things that i certainly hope aren’t true, because i want to pretend that everything is perfect. it’s the extreme parasocial obsession and complete lack of any boundaries that i object to.
the conspiracy story had been told many times, every single group of devotees to a public figure or piece of media weaves and incredible web of false evidence and imagined narratives. maybe you think that you're actually right this time, that you've become privy to a truth. maybe you are right. but to believe undeterred that this time it’s different and your theories are true is just wishful thinking. if everything is true, great for you, i guess, your favs have been miserable for years, but at least you were right, yeah? it’s a fucking insane mindset to have. until they confirm or deny, you don't get to tell their story for them.

Hi! Anon here, just wanted to let you know that I spent better part of my day re-reading your most recent bloodborne one shot and that i will do so for the next three weeks.
Just wanted to ask, out of curiosity, when describing yharnam's architecture and they layout of the city and do you draw from in-game yharnam, or is it part of the knowledge you've acquired in your profession?
(I must confess that I once stood in the Grand Cathedral lamp looking at the ceiling for half an hour, it's so pretty i love gothic architecture)
I ask this because in all of your bloodborne works, I've always been really drawn to the way you describe yharnam, making it feel like a place that could actually exist in real life and, as someone who would much rather be studying art history in college, I find that much of what I've learnt pops up more often than not in your works, and I always get really excited when it does. I am also so obsessed with the way you twist and manipulate prose to make it feel organic, almost like a living being—it's so fitting for what bloodborne is about and the era it's set in.
Dear gods I am rambling now, sorry for the long ask and thank you very much for the work you do!
Ty anon <3 even if you don’t study art history, there’s no reason not to appreciate the built environment or objects in museum contexts - sometimes exploring art history through this purely pleasurable/hobbyist path is much better than heady academic specificities. Everyone loves a survey course.
do you draw from in-game yharnam, or is it part of the knowledge you've acquired in your profession?
Both! I pull as much as I can from art history (my specialty is late 19th/early 20th French) but also cultural and economic history. The more precise these aspects and the more specific the anecdotes in world-building, the more believable (and relatable) the world itself.
So I don’t necessarily describe Yharnam one-to-one as we witness it in-game - I like to embellish a little. I’ve pulled mainly from Victorian London, for obvious reasons - on trips to the V&A or Westminster, for example, I will gather images or jot down bits of research I think might add a little specific colour and broader life to the fic. There is silverware in the V&A’s collection:

as well as this whole-ass choir screen:

...which both appear in The Feast we Were Promised; while the descriptions of the Chapel of the Good Chalice in Bring Me the Mountain are based on the facade of Notre-Dame de Bordeaux, which is Baroque (despite its quite modest interior):

...in part to distinguish it in Yharnam’s imagined history from the Grand Cathedral, which is markedly High Gothic. The chapel’s burned doors in Feast are a reference to those at the Hotel de Ville in Bordeaux, burned in a protest not long ago (though not over the price of bread).

The multiple mentions of the iconostasis are specific to orthodox iconographic practices - the very orderly, traditional kind, like this one in Romania:

…but I’m also thinking of the soaring work of my favourite artist of the Russian silver age, Viktor Vasnetsov, and his very human, very intimate, very individual, soulful icons at St Volodymyr.

Inferring there was once this tradition of iconography, including of the Great Ones, implies the additional possibility of an iconoclasm at some point in Yharnam’s history, which adds another layer of world-building (both visual and temporal), and serves as a fun anecdote to explain why there seem to be many statues and very few frescos or mosaics in Yharnam. This Byzantine colour is also inflected in the Italianate architecture in a place like the Basilica of the Santa Casa at Loreto, for example.

I am not a medievalist nor a specialist in ecclesiastical architecture (but I have a colleague who would probably think smashing all these disparate styles together is a bit exaggerated) but it’s for the reader’s benefit. It almost feels hard to imagine Yharnam with some kind of colour, given how washed-out it is when we play through it - but because all my work takes place before the Night of the Hunt, this visual difference feels necessary.
I also like to stand around in many of the in-game locations and find things that are jarringly out of place (e.g. time period or aesthetic continuity) but I also greatly appreciate the gesamtkunstwerk totality of it, given it is fantasy, and if you suspend your disbelief (and are not a professional academic intent on nitpicking) it’s brilliantly done.
It’s also one of the reasons I appreciate environmental storytelling but don’t engage or rely on those insanely specific breakdowns of in-game environments fuelled by lore speculation because they generally miss the irl way cultural artefacts, the built environment, and material conditions actually develop, and I’m more interested in making my work entertaining and believable than getting hamstrung by weird in-game details that are probably just assets being reused or reshuffled for convenience because sometimes you gotta do that in a workplace context, whether it’s creative or not.
#ask#bloodborne#writing#art history#ask an art history question get a rambling art historian answer#I am lucky enough to physically go to most of these places and so can pull from the embodied experience of the space itself#and not just pictures and research#still going through the ask box

sometimes i do just think about sumeru archon quest...i can't remember any in genshin lore where so many characters played such a huge role in the storyline and so cleanly. and how well-built the power structures/institutions are.
screams and bashes my head against the wall...the way sumeru is literally structured upon the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom but it's become a bastardized theocracy because of the akademiya sages.
the way it's literally a council of conservatives who hate the idea of moving forward with 'lesser lord' kusanali because that would actually require them to relinquish power to their god. the way they corrupt rukkhadevata's name for their own purposes because, well, she doesn't exist anymore, does she? she can't object to what they do in her name, can she? the way they intentionally pit the common people against each other and frame academia as a competition and make the entire population dependent on a network instead of their own thought so that every new generation is either burning themselves out or throwing away their identity...as long as they aren't questioning what the sages want to accomplish.
but, like. the archon quest. the traveler pops back between sumeru city and the desert because it's crucial to the development of this sociopolitical commentary. we get to see the exploitation of the desert region first-hand.
and the supporting cast is so so good. cyno, general mahamatra, and al-haitham, the akademiya scribe, give up the prestige of their titles in favor of doing the right thing: freeing nahida. dehya and candace/kandake are fighting for recognition and proper treatment of their people (dehya's character teaser literally focusing on how she uses her mercenary money to fund education for orphans and children in the desert!!) and a life free of exploitation from people claiming themselves to be "scholars." nilou tying up her mini-arc in the archon quest about how the akademiya suppresses creative liberty and the arts in order to maintain their hierarchy, nilou being the face of the resistance, nilou using her art as a method of protest and being crucial to the rescue of nahida!!
and hoyo writers tying up the socio-political commentary after the main conflict is over...nahida working with the akademiya and deshret worshippers to reconcile the prejudices and systemic oppression of the desert villages! eremites and candace and dehya and even npcs like setaria (who plays a major part in introducing the whole deshret-rukkhadevata conflict) being a part of the resolution! random notion but i really liked setaria and i'm so glad she chose to resign from the akademiya because it wasn't staying true to her moral principles in order to help improve education in her desert home ;-;
every character plays a part and i love it. i was rooting for them so hard and i was so close to crying when nahida finally got to step outside for the first time in 500 years. like !!! sumeru's archon quest got you so attached to the characters in such a little amount of time...i'm big-eyed about it all...
(also al-haitham organizing the coup so he wouldn't have to have more responsibilities in the akademiya, only to be named acting grand sage because his coup literally deposed every other possible candidate, was really funny)

hi!! love your blog, i was wondering if i could get a medium pack, but add personality traits/quirks & transids? we would like them to be motivated/good with tasks. please do NOT make them feminine identifying or presenting (& no she/her pronouns). the rest is creator's choice.
they can be brainmade OR a fictive, but if you choose to make them a fictive, i'd prefer it if they were from one of the following sources (so that we are familiar with the source):
the magnus archives, hermitcraft, my little pony, cluedo, the muppets, welcome to night vale, greek mythology, monster prom, gravity falls
again, they absolutely don't NEED to be a fictive, just giving options if you need them. sorry if all the choices overwhelm you, just trying to give you some creative liberties (i personally like it when my askers do). ty in advance!
- @roses-bah-garden
tma wtnv and greek mythology mentioned. you get us out of everyone else. as per usual feel free to take off things that doesn't fit.

our first time doing this honestly, usually we just supply ideas and watch the others do the work. needed some help from Bee (<333333) but alas it is here. most of the extra help comes from being on call with Bee and writing down random spoken thoughts.
was tossed between tma or wtnv, but we do have a brand to follow.

Omg I’m so sorry that I’m so late 😭 but is it alright if I request Zhongli and platonic headcanons? No pressure or anything; please feel free to even delete this request because your health comes first <3
DONT BE SORRY!!! i wanted to do this bc hcs r short and easy to write, and a fun way to get back to writing<3 ty for being so thoughtful Silver ily

The respectable consultant of the famous funeral parlor, Mr. Zhongli is like a hearth; warm, trustworthy and a pillar one can always stand against.
A true man of the community, have met or not, when its a question one asks, he can go on for hours to explain, offering his knowledge to you, doing his best to satiate your hunger.
As empty his pockets might be, the richness of his heart compensates for it. Surprising people with small objects he came across on his strolls, offering a glaze lily to blue eyes, explaining their tragic history; bringing what may seem as a chunk of rock, upon few cracks, it reveals a beautiful raw, unprocessed gem, shining bright, and always bringing this rock up when you or someone else may doubt their abilities lacking in something.
Everyone takes their own time to bloom, everyone grows and changes with time; instead of fearing erudition and what it’ll bring, it is best to cherish those passing time with loved ones, he reminds you.
Be it a dead end in something, he always comes through with a solution— or at the very least, an inspiration.
Yet at the end of the day even just a cup of hot steaming tea, brewed and served by his skilled hands is all one might need— to take the edge off, to relax or reward yourself after a hard day’s work; tea is best served with good company after all, and Zhongli always makes sure to remind you of the fact with his presence.

uhhh hi, long time listener first time caller! where do you think da sinclair learned all the knowledge and skills necessary to design and build the reanimen? classes, textbooks, obsessively scouring niche sources at the library? did he ever get mentored by an older scientist or something?
i haven’t read the comics so sorry if this is explained in those, but I would love to hear your headcanons about young da sinclair!
thank you so much, listener! sorry this took so long. they don't explain hardly anything about him in the comics but that's where i come in
i do think his skills are largely self-taught and self-researched. he is absolutely a "scouring niche sources at the library" kind of guy. he loves libraries. he attended a few different schools over the years, both public and private, none of which were ever a good fit for his intelligence and standards (and behavioral issues). he was never really in one place long enough to join a robotics club or anything like that. not that he's much of a joiner
early on he was sort of mentored by his father, who was absolutely not a scientist but had a bit of mechanical knowledge and supported his ambition. father sinclair set up a little workspace for d.a. in the attic and would bring him scrap parts and thrifted electronics to work with. of course they would occasionally go to the garage and mess with The Car as well
otherwise there was a lot of solo experimentation. d.a. greatly enjoyed taking objects apart and putting them back together and seeing what connected to where. he'd offer to fix electronics or bicycles for other kids on the street (whether or not they were actually broken in the first place). i think he also liked building models - lots of tiny intricate pieces fitting together
tying into my headcanon that the sinclair parents owned a mortuary and d.a. practically grew up there: it was easy for him to become desensitized and perceive the human body, especially the dead one, as a "thing". he saw the interplay of flesh and machinery early on with things like the embalming machine or even the device used to wire the corpses' mouths shut.
he became obsessed with medical technology, in particular, around age 13 after undergoing surgery himself... he had a lot of time to read after that. he'd take home anatomy books, obsessively study and copy diagrams from them. he'd fill journals with notes and sketches of prosthetics and medical implants - some for saving lives, some just to improve efficiency, all a bit unconventional in design. always room for improvement
he eventually started submitting the better ones (along with impassioned essays) to scientific magazines. these weren't the same designs he'd end up using on the reanimen later, due to lack of resources, of course. but this is what started getting the attention of the sort of people who give out genius grants
he should have been properly mentored by someone, really, but he's not much of a listener either.

HELLO LADIES, LORDS, AND NON-BINARY ROYALTY!
I’m Coming out of my hole of just occasionally reblogs to give y’all a quality post, because if you’re reading this, you deserve it.
I believe you’ve heard enough of me, so let’s get into it!
Some (Random and Useless) Facts about my KNY Hashira god! AU
Note: there’s only one fact per god, and maybe, just maybe, some about the shrine keepers and other entities-
Tengen doesn’t have a favorite number, and if he does, it’s always shifting. You could ask him any time, any day, and one day it might be 4, the next? 404,236. He thinks it’s flashy.
Giyuu often saves drowning people. He never thinks much of it, thinks it’s an “act of service and protection”, and he doesn’t like to see sufferers. That plays into it much more than he knows.
Sanemi likes to summon things to fight. There’s been occasions where other gods have walked into his domain to see a wind monster running rampant, and Sanemi beating the everloving hell out of it.
Shinobu literally cringes when people don’t take her medical advice seriously. It’s downright horrible to look at for her, and finds herself ready to lose it when they come back to her shrine saying “My lovely goddess, it has failed me, the knowledge you have bestowed upon my shoulders.”
Rengoku (tengen, muichiro, and giyuu alike), prefer being talked to casually, instead of fancy words. It seems more welcoming, and a simple “good morning! How are you?” Is always better than a “how have you been faring on this fine date, my lord?”
Mitsuri has tried to play matchmaker with some other gods between themselves, and has also tried to get some of the shrine keepers together, it doesn’t end like she planned-
Gyomei puts divine blessings on stray cats to keep them out of harm’s way, it honestly works really well. Tanjiro watched a boulder fall only 1/8 an inch from a cat, leaving it shocked but unharmed.
When it comes to Obanai, when people (or gods *cough*Giyuu*cough*) Piss him off, he uses a trademark insult: “If you sssay one more thing, I will kill you with my snakes and watch you die.” It’s super effective!
Muichiro forgets a ton of things, but in his domain there’s a special mist that makes you forget things slowly, until you leave. It confuses everyone when they forget what the mist does, though they know they’ve been there before.
Tanjiro has a scar over his right eye, though it doesn’t affect him at all. “Just like a decorative object.” He says. Apparently he got it from an accident as a kid.
Nezuko likes to be in the flower garden of the shrines, and will pick flowers for the shrines, to put down.
A/N: HOLY FUCK, WHY DID THIS TAKE SO LONG!? TY @zofi-persson FOR GIVING ME THE MOTIVATION TO FINISH THIS, UR AMAZING!!! (´,,•ω•,,) Chapters may not be as frequent, I’m so sorry!
See ya,
-Roman!

Was thinking about the subject of interpretation recently. You've made clearer to me the truth that storytelling is always communicating something and that there's always objective facts to be observed in a story's quality. But what about the subjective elements or the elements that can be argued to be subjective?
To be more specific, you've talked about turning interpretation into rewriting before, largely in regards to the HP Marauders, which is when interpretation goes too far. So I'd first ask what you think is the correct way to handle interpretation in reading stories?
My second question, tying into that, is for cases like those of the HP fandom (and all fandoms everywhere, really) but where the audience claims not to be guilty of rewriting the characters or plot. When things get blurrier and people argue that they can, for example, interpret a character as gay even when that character has explicitly stated they aren't by arguing that - in their interpretation - the character was lying because they're in denial. Other similar cases include of course the thousands of characters whose sexualities and the inner thoughts of their relationships are headcanoned by fans however they see fit with all manner of excuses used to fit it into any canon context that might contradict their vision.
Those are the obvious cases to my mind, but there's also whether a character's motives are selfish or heroic, whether a villain cares about people deep down or is unrelentingly evil, whether the whole story isn't secretly Johnny Jim's fever dream that represents his trauma, etc. In so many cases, fans can make arguments that since their interpretation isn't technically contradicted by the narrative then it can be correct even if it's a pure addition to the story.
Long build up, but my second question would then be do you think that argument is a valid form of interpretation or has it crossed over into rewriting?
This is a tricky question. Because the truth is that humans can twist anything until it says whatever they want it to say. Obviously, if you simply say, "Well I know Lupin married and loved a woman and actively called Sirius a 'friend,'" but he was lying." And when you ask them for proof that he was lying, they ultimately don't have any. They can say "look at how close Sirius and Lupin seemed," or "think about how uncomfortable he was to be with Tonks," but you can easily explain those evidences—with the explanations given in the book by the narrator. "Yeah, they were close because they were friends. He was uncomfortable to marry her because he's a werewolf and she's younger, he literally said so."
Theres "evidence" on both sides, for each argument. But only one side takes all available evidence, as a whole, and still has a supportable conclusion. The other side, the side that claims Lupin and Sirius were romantically interested in one another, picks and chooses whatever lines up with their theory (like you said) and discards the rest—or has to add to the original material to make their interpretation make sense.
And what is "adding to the original material?" It's simply assuming god-like knowledge of a character you didn't create. Because Rowling didn't give you evidence for Lupin's straight love for Tonks and platonic friendship with Sirius being a lie. She could've. She's written liars and their behaviors before. She's written Lupin hiding the truth, too, so we know what THAT looks like.
Ultimately, I'd say:
The correct way to handle the interpretation of stories is to look at the story as a whole, first. Remember that every word, every line, everything said and left out, was a decision made by the storyteller. They're each building blocks for a whole. So you have to look at the whole, first. My method is to look at the good that befalls a character, and the bad that befalls a character, and trace the cause. Usually, the a good or bad thing happening to a character can be traced all the way back to a decision they, or some other character, made. Once you find that decision, you have to try and figure out why the character made that decision: what was their motivation? What belief drove them to make that decision? You act the way you act because you think the way you think. You can figure motivations out in specific characters by analyzing what events shaped their worldview, or paying attention to what words they choose when they speak in moments of conflict or tension. Dodger (in Oliver and Company) says "you're one of the gang. the gang means family." when he's angry with Oliver for wanting to leave. That's the first time we see Dodger hurt and angry with a friend. And that's the explanation we're given. And we can couple that with the times he's risked his skin: jumping in front of angry Dobermans, or refusing to eat until he gets to the others. So we know, after looking at all the evidence, that the most important thing to Dodger isn't food or safety or even "looking cool:" it's that core group of characters he considers "family." Then you've cracked him, as a character.
If a fan is adding something to a story that lines up with the character's purpose in the original material—or at least lines up with their character traits at some point in the original material—then it's an addition to the story. Cinderella 2015 zooms in on the fact that Cinderella loved and respected her parents: in the original cartoon, you're shown one scene of her crying at her father's bedside, and another of her adoring her mother's dress in the most stressful of circumstances. That's not rewriting. The foundation was there in the original material. They just reverse-engineered that parental relationship, looked at how something seemed to be keeping Cartoon Cinderella in high spirits regardless of circumstances (which is not a trait she could've learned anywhere OTHER than those briefly-mentioned parents, based on all the evidence) and built upon it. But, if they'd taken the death of the parents and said, "Ella desperately wanted to please her stepmother, because she barely remembered her real mother," it would have been a rewrite. Why? Because if you look at ALL of the evidence, cartoon Cinderella doesn't tell Bruno to "love Lucifer like I love my stepmother, we're all we've got." That's what she would've said if she felt that way about her birth mother versus her stepmother. But instead, she tells him to "look for his good points, even if it's hard." And she clearly shows excitement and adoration for her mother's old dress. And the opening scene shows us how much she loved her parents. So when you take ALL the evidence, you CAN'T come by the wrong conclusion, and make a rewrite, honestly.
I hope that answered your questions. Shoot me another ask if not.

Literally just now I learned through Instagram that Netanyahu is visiting Congress this month. And has been visiting Congress over the years apparently.

So naturally, there’s gonna be a protest. For those going you can find a bus from your city to DC from answercoalition.org/arrest_netanyahu to see if there’s one. And for everyone else
MASK THE HELL UP. COVER YOUR HAIR/FACE. PROTECT YOURSELF. USE SUNSCREEN AS WELL.
DC and the capital are crawling with cameras and cops, especially considering the current political scene. Masking will also protect against the germs and trust me, it’s dirty up there. Personally when I go to protest I prefer a mask, tying back and completely covering my hair, and wearing very plain and loose/comfortable clothing. My friends don’t even recognize me. That’s good. Don’t be recognizable in photos.
Your top objectives when you’re going:
Don’t pass out from the heat. Drink plenty of water, find shade, sit down if you need to. There’s been heat warnings all month. I cannot stress enough that it will be hot. Carry water for you and extra for new friends if you can.
Do not fuck with the police. Do not antagonize. Do not throw shit. Don’t riot. The typical stuff. There’s a nonzero chance of a counter protest from people for the genocide, drown them out but do not engage them.
Shut down any antisemitism, especially from your own. Shut down anybody riling up police, shut it down any violence, shut down any racism and bigotry. Regulate your group.
Familiarize yourself with the area. Have a plan in and out. Make your meet up points and know when to bounce.
Note: I’m not the organizer setting this up, nor do I know them in any capacity. If you see organizers, talk to them and listen to them. They should have plans in place to manage the protest and move if need be. Watch the crowd, be aware. If the organizer has a media liaison, let them handle the press.
You may want to:
Turn off your phone. DC is crawling with tech. Use the knowledge of your devices and what you’re doing at your own discretion. When I’m solo, it’s on. As a group, maybe off.
Pack snacks!
Figure out rides ahead of time
Wear sunglasses
Be prepared for things to get ugly. Personally I prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Draw live, take pictures or videos, or otherwise capture the scene. If you’re doing so, remember to not capture identifying details of your fellow protesters, there will be people intending to be malicious by finding out who your peers are. Be mindful of faces and metadata.
Ultimately, stay safe and cool but make your presence and message clear. I highly recommend before you go down to DC you brush up on the news, be on the lookout for new information about this protest, brush up on antisemitic conspiracies and dogwhistles, and figure out how to manage the heat.
Tensions are high and you will be in the proximity of a lot of notable figures. Be smart and be safe. I think there’s a real chance to make this one really catch attention, so plan accordingly. The ICC has a warrant for Netanyahu, and that seems to be the primary focus of this protest. Making him acknowledge and answer for war crimes. Sounds like making signs highlighting the war crimes and statistics of what the IDF has been doing. Maybe highlighting the bombing of safe zones, targeting of those providing aid, and the starvation of Palestinians.
He’s likely trying to legitimize his war on Hamas and appeal to Congress. He’s not popular in Israel, im sure he’s gonna throw a pity party for himself. Do not let anyone forget that any crime Hamas has committed doesn’t warrant retaliating on innocent civilians. And Palestinians deserve to live as peacefully as Israelis do.
