gonna add a take, android is better then ios because ios was created by Apple to maintain a complete monopoly over every single part of the phone so that it is absolutely impossible to get it fixed anywhere but at one of their official stores or licensed repair stores where they can slap you with ridiculously high repair bills for simple fixes. Android isn't a type of phone, it's an operating system. it's the same shit with apple always using a weird ass charging cable when everyone else has been using USB for decades. uniqueness not for improving the quality of the product, but for increasing its price artificially through after purchase repairs upgrades and replacements.

...desks! Wood recolors of desks!

I've recolored every desk that EA has created in a pack or expansion that:

1) already had wood recolors

2) didn't have wood recolors, but I felt that wood recolors suited them

For the colors: I am using Dynamite, Depth Charge, Shrapnel, Safety Fuse and Time Bomb by @pooklet, and Nesert and Honey by Io aka @serabiet.

Please check out the Add-On's I've recommended! They are meshes made by community members that will use these textures too. Or, they are bits of CC that go along with these nicely!

Want to keep using Ad Blockers? Stop Using Chrome, Switch to Firefox.

So with the rollout of Manifest V3, Google Chrome is pretty much crippling all ad blockers on Chrome. Effectively, ad blockers can no longer update their lists without fully updating their plugins. It's pretty shitty.

And you may be asking yourself -- what can I do? The answer is simple:

Switch to Firefox. Now.

Now I've been a Firefox evangelist for a long time, I know, but it's a free, open source browser made by a nonprofit org. It's literally the most ethically developed any software could possibly be. It's on every major desktop platform, and it's just... good.

Why would you use a browser made by a corporation that literally removed "Don't be evil" from their mission instead of this? I know that, like, a long ass time ago Chrome was faster, but that's not remotely true anymore. Heck, on Mac Chrome eats way more RAM than Firefox. It's ridiculous.

That's not even mentioning the fact that the amount of Chromium engine browsers out there is kind of ruining the web. Mozilla has their own rendering engine built on open web standards, and diversity in rendering engines helps everyone.

So yeah. If you're using a computer, go get Firefox. They have an Android version too. (They sorta have an iOS app -- but that uses Webkit because of Apple's limitations on third party browser engines -- but it will let you access your sync'd Firefox passwords).

🌟 New

We’re rolling out the ability to reply to posts as a sideblog across all platforms. Next to the reply input field, you can click/tap on the avatar to change what blog you’re replying as. All blogs are eligible, including group blogs, except for password protected blogs or blogs blocked by the post’s author. This is rolled out to everyone on the web, and for folks with version 31.6 or higher of the mobile apps.

We’ve also updated our “It’s time to update your app” notification banner in the mobile apps, for folks who are using (very) outdated versions. If you see that banner, then you’re using a version of the app that we explicitly no longer support, and it may stop working altogether until you update.

🛠 Fixed

We fixed a bug in Safari that was causing scrollbars to overlap with content in the masonry view of feeds like Explore, if you have your mac’s “Show scroll bars�� setting set to “Always”.

We fixed a bug on the Likes view on web that was causing the expanded post to disappear if you went from Grid view to List view.

🚧 Ongoing

We’re aware of an issue in the iOS app that has broken screen reader support for post content. We’re working to fix this as quickly as we can and release a new version of the app with the fix.

We’re also aware of a technical issue that’s been preventing Trending topics from updating in Explore since Friday. We’re working to get those populated again as quickly as we can.

So after about 2 ish weeks on deciding on how to upgrade my laptop (and getting all the new components together), I settled on a Mac Mini ^^My old laptop was and is faithful, it's just slow for large projects and began crashing as of late (i3 with 8GB RAM).

This is exciting for me but also stressful. I'm not only needing to reinstall every programme I use, but I also want to put them all back the way they were. Also, coming from Windows 11 to an iOS itself might bring up some unknown complications. Fun times :>

Are there any updates on fixing the bug with being able to upload attacks? I’ve deleted all my cashe but it still won’t work

We're still looking into the issue and working on an update, though we believe it may be related to fingerprint protection blocking the image processing library we use for the thumbnail cropping tool. Try these fixes:

Brave: Turn shields off (to the right of the URL) or turn off "block fingerprinting" in advanced options in the shield menu

Firefox: Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security and set Enhanced Tracking Protection to Standard

Safari (iOS): In the settings app, navigate to Safari > Advanced and set Advanced Tracking and Fingerprinting Protection to off

Safari (Mac): Navigate to Settings > Advanced and turn off Use advanced tracking and fingerprinting

We do not use any form of fingerprinting or tracking on our users, but other websites may do so. You may want to only disable fingerprinting protection to submit attacks, and re-enable it afterwards.

Chapter 2 Beta Update~

--Nearly all of Ch2 is available, EXCEPT: The "America" backstory when talking with Lottie (it's just half finished). Overall around ~22k words added, and a few thousand to Chapter 1.

--Reworked the Sex/Gender/Gender Presentation System.

--New and Revised MC Dialogue to Ch1, depending on what Occupation you choose. Not all has been changed, more planned later in the month.

--Various typo fixes, small re-writes and bug fixes.

I wanted to get more done, but alas ><;; 🙏🏽 some IRL came up that i really need to deal with. BUT! I managed to get Ch2 from beginning to end! I hope yall will enjoy the last half of Ch2, I'm very happy with it overall! :"))))

If you have an iPhone, use this guide. I can't help you troubleshoot iphone or MAC problems; I don't have one.

If you have an Android iOS, open the .html file with any intertnet browser app EXCEPT HTML viewer.

If you have a PC, open the .html file with any internet browser.

Please remember the saving/loading can be janky. Do not save and load the same or different "files" rapidly. This is a limitation of HTML.

Important updates!

Hi, everyone! It's time for a quick update on the status of the Octocon project.

Business filings

We're currently in the legal process of filing for an LLC in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It's expected that we'll be approved sometime in the next few weeks, at which point we'll be able to switch ownership of the app over on Google Play and file for an App Store account. Once this is all set, I'll follow up with our business name and address for transparency.

iOS development is on schedule!

I'll be getting a Mac to start development on the iOS app within a week or two! I expect to have a working prototype in closed testing by early January.

Because the demand for iOS testing is so high, I can't guarantee that everyone who signs up for the testing program will get access. I believe we can only accept a few dozen more people beyond our current testing base, so if you'd like to be part of the program, please sign up as soon as possible on our Discord server!

v1.2.1 release

Version 1.2.1 of the app is expected to be released for Android sometime this weekend. This release will include a plethora of features, including:

Expanding the "Show alter IDs" setting to fully hide IDs in the app when disabled

Marking alters as untracked (won't show up in your alter count)

New dyslexic font (Lexie Readable)

Deleting accounts and wiping alters from within the app

Option to hide alters from the root screen if they're in a tag

The Castle Doombad Remake is... NO MORE! From its ashes has risen two nefarious new games: CASTLE DOOMBAD 2: MUAHAHA! and CASTLE DOOMBAD CLASSIC!

Castle Doombad 2: Muahaha! will be released for Nintendo Switch and Steam (PC and Mac) at a TBD date! It's the sinister sequel that evolves and expands the classic Doombad format in new ways, and features an all new story!

Castle Doombad Classic will be available for Switch, Steam, and a special "Free to Slay" version is also coming back to iOS and Android! It's the original game but it also includes additional content updates -- coming this year (2024)!

A...are you not using Linux because Pewdiepie and Stallman are Linux users?

You know that, for one, you, potentially using Linux, will not positively or negatively affect the Lives of Stallman or Kjellberg and for two, there are some even worse people using Windows and Mac and Android and iOS, yet you still use it. You using Linux will have no positive or negative baring on you or anyone else.

This isn’t like JK Rowing and Harry Potter, where watching the new Harry Potter or buying a Galbraith book gives money to the Wicked Witch of Weem which she then uses to strip trans and gender variant people of their rights. Even when Stallman was fucking Head of the FSF before being kicked out, you using nano or any other GNU project did nothing to benefit Stallman or anyone because it was Free and Open Source Software! The whole point was that Stallman didn’t really own it as we would know it and he would not benefit financially because, again, it’s Free and Open Source Software: he doesn’t benefit financially because the whole point of it is that it’s released, free of charge, as a public good.

Also Pewdiepie is just a Linux user. You using Linux does not benefit him nor should it reflect badly on you. He’s not getting a check from the Linux Foundation every time someone downloads and installs Mint or Ubuntu. He’s literally just using Arch and Hyprland. Now would I use Arch? No, but that’s because Arch is a complicated Distro and I like GUIs, simple to use TUIs and a set up that doesn’t break with every update. Do I use Hyprland (despite some of it’s own drama)? Yes, because it’s a great Window Manager. I’m writing this post while using Hyprland! It does not, however, make me a Nazi because Pewds is too.

Unless you’re using a Distro that does something like, charge you to use it and sends money to the KKK or something, using Linux has no baring on you and provides no benefit to anyone like Stallman or Kjellberg because again, they do not benefit financially benefit or benefit in any way from you using it. Stallman doesn’t financially benefit from you using it on principle and right now, he’s toxic goods and nobody wants to even go near him, so he can’t even benefit on clout.

Terrible people are going to be using Linux, terrible people are going to even contribute to projects, hell, terrible people are going to start and lead projects (see xLibre, which is a laughing stock anyway because nobody is going to use X.org anyway and the guy leading it is a toxic rightwing nutcase who’s been kicked out of projects for being a right wing nutjob) but the thing about Open Source Software is that they don’t really benefit in any tangible ways because, by definition, Free and Open Source Software is free and Open Source. If you don’t use any technology used by horrible people, you’d be butt naked and living in the woods.

Go use Linux, Stallman and Kjellberg aren’t gonna benefit from it in anyway and the other people using it won’t have any baring on you as a person. If anything, using Linux is a net positive because it saves eWaste from going to the tip. If using the same distro as Stallman and Kjellberg bothers you, don’t use Trisquel or Arch. I don’t, but it’s not because of Stallman and Kjellberg, it’s because I wanna use Non-free stuff on my system and Arch is...well...Arch.

I can't find your games on the Google Play store anymore. Did something happen?

What happened is that developing for Google Play is really time-consuming because they release a new SDK (checks watch) every 3 minutes, ok not that often but maybe every 6 month it seems and every time they ask us to reship a build because the plug-ins fail. We are having a rough year financially so it just made more sense to pull our games than to have them on Android devices.

I am really sorry that this is the state of things in Indie Dev but it's where we are.

All Bloom games will remain on IOS devices, and we are working on getting updated build that will gain "work great on Steam Deck designation". If you don't like Steam we are on GOG and Itch. As always Switch remains our friend and we are considering a launch in the Mac Store as well. But unfortunately, Android is not selling well enough to justify the maintenance costs.
