Octocon is a new app for systems. It's traumacentric and made by traumagenic systems. It also has a discord bot that is a lot easier to use than pk in my opinion. You can also sync your app and the bot so you can edit alters in the app. The app is on android already and coming to IOS soon. Hope this helps some people :)

(If you're in a server, I recommend adding this bot as more people are starting to use it instead of pk and tupperbox)

Felt I should share this as I haven't really seen it talked about in system or RAMCOA spaces. When you use Octocon your parts will be attached numbers to each part based off who was created first. While it's likely due to how to code the easiest. it is important to remember that if you are a survivor who has parts who were forced to be called a number, are a survivor who was called a number collectively/bodily, forced to refer to others as numbers or has any trauma related to number names please tread carefully.

I know as a survivor it can be extremely scary not being able to control your name or having anxieties related to not being called your number too. Please know you are not forced to use Octocon just because other people are using it. If plural kit or simply plural work best for you than keep using them. You do not need to switch over and risk your own mental health. Being a survivor who was dehumanized to numbers is horrible and whether you decide to reclaim your trauma or are healing by moving away from it know your triggers are valid.

Know you are never alone in healing your trauma and note this post is for education. This is not to bash in the creators of Octocon nor is it to tell you how to feel about the app/bot. At the end of the day how you find support with yourself is for only you and your system to decide. With thet being said do not interact with this post if you are pro/neu-endo / believe in any form of "plurality" outside of being trauma based. If you are a questioning system, a cdd system who is syscourse unaligned or apathetic you are more than welcome to repost and interact.

Octocon is LIVE on iOS!

I'm pleased to announce that Octocon is now available on the App Store!! The app can be downloaded by the general public using the link below.

In parallel with the iOS release, we've also released our largest app update yet for all platforms: v1.3, codenamed "Ammonite"! A detailed changelog will be posted in our Discord community shortly.

OCTOCON BEWARE

TLDR; A pedophile that has admitted to abusing a minor is in the Octocon servers, and the creator of the bot and the moderator team for the servers have stated they will not do anything about it. The Octocon servers allow minors and have minors active in the server.

If you are in a server that uses and has ever recommended a member go to either of the Octocon servers, I ask that you please notify the mod team so that they are aware there is a predator in the servers they are recommending their members to.

The creator of Octocon and the moderators of the Octocon discord servers were made aware of a pedophile that sexually abused and traumatized a 14 year old when he was 18 years old. The evidence submitted into a private ticket with the moderators was the pedophile admitting to doing so in a private message with a user that I will keep anonymous.

After over a week of inaction from the Octocon mods, where the pedophile was allowed to talk in the servers with minors and staff members, the moderator team came to the decision that they will allow the predator to continue to use the servers as "The situation is too old and complex for simple moderators on a discord server to judge." I found the inaction of the moderators and final decision disturbing. The fact that this was all handled quietly and server members were not made aware of this decision at all was extremely discomforting to me. I personally have decided to move away from the bot/app and ended my support for it due to the complete lack of care the owner and staff has expressed in regards to member safety by letting a self-admitted pedophile chat with minors in their servers. I reached out to the user who had initially brought up the concerns to the moderator team for permission to make a post about it so people are aware of the situation. Please please PLEASE read through @octoconbeware 's posts, which to sum it up, talk about how the octocon discord server actively harbors a p3dophile KNOWING that the person had abused minors. They have taken zero action in regard to this and are failing to provide a safe community. The person is still in the server, please please PLEASE be careful and stop supporting their bot/app. If this is how they treat their server members, by endangering minors, then they cannot be trusted to handle sensitive info of everyone who uses Octocon. We really hope yall are safe, we're spreading this to get people's attention and make sure they are aware that this is happening

I know you see pretty much every system on social media seems to have simply plural/octocon/plural kit/etc to track things about their systems. I also know some systems feel pressured into doing so because everyone else is doing it.

You don't have to track if it makes you uncomfortable. If documenting alters make your dissociation or doubts worse, stop. If you find yourself worry about documenting things constantly, it's okay to take a break. You don't have to proxy on a discord server. You don't owe anyone anything about what is going on in your system.

It's okay to never use these things. It's okay to take a break from using them if it's burning you out or frustrating you. Don't feel bad to do what is best for your system.

Why are so many people sleeping on the Octocon app and Discord bot? The app syncs with the bot that's a feature I wanted with simply plural and pk forever. The alter journals are really useful too. More people should talk about Octocon!!

Octocon for iOS launches in <12 hours!

WE DID IT! Apple has finally approved Octocon for distribution on the App Store; all I need to do is press one button and it���ll be available worldwide.

I’m aware of and apologize for the fact that we’re ~2 months late on our release schedule, but Apple made it extraordinarily difficult for us to release our app. For those who patiently supported me in the App Review hellscape, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’m busy tomorrow and likely Friday, so I’ve made the decision to release Octo earlier than I originally planned: today, April 2nd, at 6 PM ET, or less than 12 hours from now!
