Hey Nathalie congratulations on the house! I know it’s so hard these days.
I had a silly question I had asked before but I didn’t see if was answered but I wanted to know more about the contouring through your eyes. Such as how they rose to power and exactly how they came up with their laws?
I’ve always been curious. Thanks and again congrats and good luck with your new house 🏡
• — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐬
Thank you so much for the well wishes! I will in fact be moving into my new home later this week, which is why I have been away from the blog. There has been extensive renovations as well as a lot of packing, donating and recycling on my part.
.
I am going to go out on a limb and guess you meant the conquering. Which refers to the Volturi-Romanian War, and to a lesser degree the Volturi-Egyptian War.
Personally I believe the Romanian campaign took place for at least a millennia, they settled down way before they rose to power and it was no secret that Aro took a liking to gifted guards. Add Caius and his Child of The Moon agenda and they were not exactly subtle.
Within my writing I do headcanon that The Volturi attempted to barter with The Romanians first, they were almost successful but the deal ran sour and rivalries that would last for a thousand years would be forged. Personally I believe Aro despises Vladimir for several reasons. Stefan and Caius also have a strained connection because Caius was almost executed by Stefan when he was a newborn, had it not been for Athenodora he would have been dead.
It was in fact Didyme and Marcus who led the peace-talks.
I think the laws were agreed upon internally very early on. Aro with his knowledge was quite convincing when he spoke of how the vampiric race would not be able to sustain themselves forever the way things were going. Caius was hungry for glory, security and a war so he was not difficult to convince. Didyme shared in the dream of a peaceful future, and therefore a lovesick Marcus agreed without question.
Sulpicia and Athenodora are some of the more reasonable vampires so they fine tuned the early laws with input from the others.

getting into buffy late in the game is so wild beacuse like... what do you mean angel was the favorite love interest?? what do you mean he's supposed to be buffy's true love, supported by the cast, crew and promo materials??
him??
over spike, who's better for buffy in basically every way??
like, 2000s baby here, but before my friend encouraged me to start watching buffy, pretty much all i knew about the show was "vampire show with the lesbian witches and that rlly popular enemies-to-lovers ship"
but now i'm looking at merch and magazines from that time, and angel is the guy everyone loves?? joss whedon gave us HIM
Tumblr media
and thought we wouldn't fall in love?? thought we'd go for angel, who has the most clear ~first love interest who either dies or becomes evil to make way for the better love interest~ i've ever seen in my life??
absolutely wild.

Thinking about in that first chipped-spike episode where he's talking to Willow and she's like "am I not pretty enough, you'd never bite me 😖" and spikes all "no no I've thought about it. I totally would" and it's like a whole metaphor for sex. And then a few episodes later spike and Xander are arguing about how spike would never bite him and xander like "oh yeah you would I'm very tasty". Like ok

I do enjoy Sam Reid being like "as you go into these final two episodes please remember that Lestat didn't want to be on this continent much less in this city. he loves Louis and is not malicious. someone else might be though i couldn't say who."

Propaganda I’m NOT falling for:
1. Claudeleine (like they aren’t even good together, mid)
2. Devils Minion (someone save Daniel from that orange eyed Devil, he doesn’t wanna be there)
3. Loustat (he literally left him paralyzed and cheated on him like that’s red flag behaviour)
4. Loumand (oh come on, boring. They didn’t even love each other. 77 years wasted.)
5. Lesmand (Armand is delusional there is no way that Lestat likes him or finds him attractive)
6. Lestat loved Claudia (are you blind? He hated her. He let her die. He can share the worst father award with Daniel)

I hope in the bg of season 3, Louis is just constantly swatting 5 year old fledglings off his balcony. I hope he gets 15 different kinds of those anti-birdnesting thingys to try out but still ends off starting his evenings going out with a broom going "shoo shoo shoo"

Hello, I'm wondering one thing... If you know the series "True Blood", let me know how you imagine the situation described in the plot from the point of view of the Volturi. I mean, what would the Volturi's reaction be if they found out that another clan ruling the vampire world had revealed their existence to humans? I'm curious what you think about this and what you think it might look like.
• — 𝐓𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐫
In short; executions and god knows how many humans dead or turned within a very short amount of time.
The longer version; The Volturi is the only ruling coven currently. If another clan/coven crowned themselves rulers and decided to expose themselves to humanity; it is a declaration of war. There would be no attempt at diplomacy because the insult would be to great, The Volturi would call on every ally at their disposal to restore order to the world before it is too late.
The first thing that would be a great deciding factor is the time-frame of this taking place. If it happened in this day and age I believe it would be a much harder thing to cover up with the amount of surveillance humans are under today; as well as how much time we spend online. Either way, every resource would be exhausted to contain the situation and kill, or turn, every human exposed to the secret.
At the same time there would be well planned strikes against this other coven, using as little of their manpower as possible in order to take down every vampire. Caius would be unleashed for sure, and we all know how black and white the law is to this particular king.
Perhaps they would allow one vampire to keep their life, much like they did with Stefan and Vladimir once upon a time. A way for them to tell the coming generations of vampires of their foolish choices that lead to the Volturi smiting them.

Best part of IWTV discourse is when fans started getting mad at Loumand Divorce jokes because they didn't want to concede Louis was ever, even metaphorically, married to him.
Like to be clear they never did call themselves married in canon. They're way more the "this is my companion/partner" type, and Daniel goes out of his way to call Armand "your boyfriend" (derogatory) more than once. Fandom assigned them husbands SOLELY to make loveless marriage/impending divorce jokes, but somewhere in there Loustat fans got super catholic and insecure about it and to me that's very funny.
