hello. you can crack open any of these "disposables" like an oyster and refill them. you don't need to throw a lithium battery away just because the e-juice ran out. buy some e-juice. it's cheap. or make your own. you can drip it into the top of the sponge in there or take the sponge out and soak it or use a syringe to saturate the sponge from top to bottom directly. be careful not to rip the delicate little wires off the circuitboard or the battery, but even if you did, you could re-solder it. "disposable" vapes are one of the biggest consumer scams going rn and it makes me really mad

the lithium and cobalt in these batteries are being destructively mined from multiple places in the world including Congo. you can save an enormous amount of money, time, and avoid contributing to mineral exploitation all at once with this one weird trick

edit: please don't refill nicotine vapes with weed oil or weed vapes with nicotine liquid. different kinds of vapes and also there will be an oil/water problem. refill nicotine vapes with nicotine liquid and weed vapes with weed oil. don't cross-contaminate. I don't think anything catastrophic will happen, I just think it will break the vape and waste your time

New research has uncovered the potentially harmful substances that are produced when e-liquids in vaping devices are heated for inhalation. The study, published in Scientific Reports, highlights the urgent need for public health policies concerning flavored vapes. The research team at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dublin, used artificial intelligence (AI) to simulate the effects of heating e-liquid flavor chemicals found in nicotine vapes. They included all 180 known e-liquid flavor chemicals, predicting the new compounds formed when these substances are heated within a vaping device immediately prior to inhalation. The analysis revealed the formation of many hazardous chemicals including 127 which are classified as "Acute Toxic," 153 as "Health Hazards" and 225 as "Irritants." Notably, these included a group of chemicals called volatile carbonyls (VCs) which are known to pose health risks. Sources for VCs were predicted to be the most popular fruit, candy and dessert-flavored products.

Belgium is banning sales of e-cigarettes or vapes starting with the new year. Good for the Belgians!

Big tobacco is in a tailspin because of the decline of cigarette smoking. So they are trying to promote e-cigarettes which are being painted as a more trendy alternative. Getting teens hooked is a priority.

Though in addition to the health risks, disposable e-cigarettes have an environmental cost.

Health minister Frank Vandenbroucke said the inexpensive e-cigarettes had turned into a health threat since they are an easy way for teenagers to be drawn into smoking and get hooked on nicotine. "Disposable e-cigarettes is a new product simply designed to attract new consumers," he said in an interview. "E-cigarettes often contain nicotine. Nicotine makes you addicted to nicotine. Nicotine is bad for your health. These are fact," Vandenbroucke added. Because they are disposable, the plastic, battery and circuits are a burden on the environment. On top of that, "they create hazardous waste chemicals still present in what people throw away," Vandenbroucke said. The health minister said he also targeted the disposable e-cigarettes because reusable ones could be a tool to help people quit smoking if they cannot find another way.

So people in Belgium can still use reusable ones – particularly if it helps them quit regular cigarettes.

Anecdotally, a day hardly goes by without seeing used disposable vapes tossed on sidewalks or streets in US cities. US states need to observe how the ban plays out in Belgium.

you can open up those Flum "disposable" vapes pretty easily and refill them with any vape juice you want, which is cheap to buy in bottles premixed, or you can very easily make your own with vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, liquid nicotine, and candy flavoring (use a recipe for this, dont cowboy it. nicotine overdose wont kill you unless youre really trying, but it can make you feel pretty bad).
