Should we make #StrangerFansForWGAStrike and #BylersForWGAStrike hashtags on Twitter or something to show support (other than use their official hashtags)?
I'm poor, so I really can't donate. I've been liking and RTing their stuff on Twitter since the beginning, but maybe we could use our online force to make those # go to Trending Topics?
I WOULD LOVE TO DO THIS! I EVEN HAVE AN INFOGRAPHIC!
Y’all think we could get it trending?
I say skip the ship wars. #StrangerFansforWGA + #WGAStrong. Also— call customer service. file complaints. however— do not attack the writers.
If y’all would like to help spread the world, let’s aim to spread how much the fans care for their writers. Reblog, tweet, share the infographic, don’t reblog mine even! make your own! But don’t stop.
The writers have one of the biggest fanbases out there. They should get love back. Please help spread. I’m not in this for clout or anything. Don’t reblog if you don’t want too, but tweet and post your own! Let Netflix know how much we support! Just keep sharing.
Anyways, let’s forget ship wars and focus on supporting the writers for their incredible hard work and dedication.
I’d say use the hashtag: #StrangerFansforWGA

If you uncritically reblog posts that contain "funny haha AI art this is so harmless and cute and funny haha look at this art of puppies in suits smoking cigars" then congrats you're literally the enemy and you do not actually support any of the workers who've been striking for 5 months.
You can't claim to support writers and artists and then turn around and support AI generated content created using stolen fucking art just because it's wacky/weird or some cats spelling out 'gay sex' and think it's somehow different or harmless if the content made with stolen art is funny or pandering to the queer community for click bait.
If you support the writers and artist strikes?
Stop fucking reblogging AI art

incredibly iconic of marina toybina to repost a WGA protestor wearing a dress in mockery of the Met Gala and holding a sign that says "my pronouns are pay/me" she's amazing and i would die for her

"3 months of strike have made no difference to me" okay cool. they make a difference for me. Grey's Anatomy, Station 19, and 911 would normally start a new season over the next month or so. but because of the studios being stubborn assholes, they won't.
i know streaming services have a large chunk of show production, and yeah streaming services haven't had consistent schedules like network shows do because they dont have to fit their shows into particular slots. But network TV still exists, and the strikes are affecting the schedule.

So I just wanted to give some thoughts about the show Final Space and the recent news that it will get to do a graphic novel to make up for the shows premature cancellation.  All in all I think the whole thing is really bittersweet because I am happy for the creator of the show and that he gets to finish his story.  With so many shows getting prematurely canceled (infinity train for example) its great that even though it won’t be a fully animated show he does get to finish what he started, which in the current hellscape that is animation right now is pretty rare.
I recommend watching his video explaining it but basically it took two years of him fighting to find some way to continue the show, and if you seen Final Space you know that at this point there is no ending.  No send off, no half baked conclusion, nothing.  They just canceled it with no ending at all.  But now with this graphic novel there can be an ending to the story, and I’m happy for him because you can tell that this is something that he is really passionate about, a story he wanted to tell with characters he really loves.
And listen I can understand if Final Space isn’t your thing, I personally don’t like the humor that much and I know at first glance it can seem like a Rick and Morty ripoff.  But first of all I would argue that Final Space has more heart in it than any of the newer episodes of Rick and Morty have had, and secondly there are some episodes that use some really inventive sci-fi premises that are compelling and entertaining.  But again I can get that it’s not for everybody but for me what kept me watching was the passion.  I could tell that the people behind the show cared about it and wanted to tell it.
But what frustrates me the most is the lack of respect.  Unfortunately Final Space is just another example in a long line of animated shows being treated like trash and where other worser examples of television are able to keep being produced animated shows are constantly pushed to the wayside.  Hopefully with everything that is happening as of late with the lawsuits and strikes maybe some good can come from all of this, but we lost a lot of good shows on the way.
The graphic novel as I am writing this isnt out yet, he states that it will probably take a little over a year to make.  But even if you personally don’t care about Final Space maybe recommend it to a friend, they might like it. And keep fighting to make conditions more fair and equitable for animation.

WGA Strikes
Hi! I've been seeing a lot of discussion online about the WGA strikes and I wanted to share this Drew Gooden video explaining the importance of the strikes, and he lays our excellent points that I totally agree with. If you want to understand the strikes more, go watch the video!
youtube
And slightly off topic, the things that I would do for a Drew Gooden video in this style about modern filmmaking, i.e. Netflix and the infamous 'one season cut off' issue, and general issues with modern media production. I would do many things.

Just so we're all on the same page with the writer's strike.
If during the strike, it's announced about AI generated shows. We are not watching them. Not even out of curiosity. Let them fail every AI generated show they try make.
The human voice can not be replaced by AI. Don't let them try.

people are trying to argue that the Ai takeover is just our century's industrial revolution, which is probably the dumbest take I've ever heard

I’m so happy for them
[Image Description: Castiel from Supernatural is saying I love you, underneath is an image of Dean Winchester with the caption: “After four months of striking the WGA has a reached a tentative agreement & finalizing the contract. If all goes well writers will get to return to work with better pay and protections. They did it. Go unions”]
