It's probably unlikely that you'll see this, since ofc you're probably busy rn, but incase you do see this in your inbox but don't have time to answer due to other stuff, i just wanna let you know that i still appreciate you somehow having time to read this lil ask I've sent you! Again, thank you Mr Gaiman!

Anyway, so this would probably sound *kinda* weird in terms of the ask i'm writing to you, but do bear with me!

Ok, so uhh Mr Gaiman, if you were to have the ability to time travel to alternative dimensions/universes, would you go to an alternative universe where Monty Python member Graham Chapman never got throat cancer and was still alive and well and happy in his 80s and living his best life in said alternative universe? If so, why? If not, why?

Again, sorry if it sounds a bit out of league and sorta philosophical in terms of the question for you to answer, Mr Gaiman, but I've been thinking about this for quite a while now and it does make me both happy and emotional to think about if Graham Chapman was still alive today, and if he was still alive today, what kinda projects he would've been in, both in terms of writing and acting? Would Graham still be in contact with the other Pythons? Would Graham probably also have a Tumblr account? (ok that's a bit of a stretch but it's a bit funny to imagine imo).

I certainly think that, if Graham was still alive today, he would've been absolutely happy that same-sex marriage was finally made legal plus many other achievements for LGBTQ+ rights, and that he would've probably gotten legally married to his partner David Sherlock, with the other Pythons being the guests of honour for the wedding ceremony!

I also wonder that, if Graham's adopted son John Tomiczek (who unfortunately died from a heart attack in 1992) were to also live, would've Graham finally become a grandpa/great-grandpa?

Idk, it's just some thoughts that I've been thinking about. Thoughts about the many upon many possibilities of Graham doing lots of stuff today if he were still alive. Things he *would've* and *could've* have had the opportunity to do......that is.....if the universe didn't decide to be a dickhead one day and give Graham throat cancer for no absolute reason, and to make it hurt even more, have him pass away on the eve before the 20th Anniversary of "Monty Python's Flying Circus" airing on the 5th October, 1989.....

Again, I understand if you can't be able to answer rn due to other stuff, but I thought I'd ask you this rather hypothetical (rather philosophical of sorts) question cuz I have been thinking about it for quite a while now, and I wanted to hear your personal thoughts on this hypothetical AU situation!

“no, yeah,” she grins, nails pressed against her lips, biting down on the bottom. she’s never actually been on a podcast before. “we were talking about making an appearance somewhere, but i’m kinda - very - intimidated by men. i chose this podcast specifically.”

“oh, you know of our existence,” emma gushes, giggling slightly. “we feel so honoured. thank you so much.”

“honestly, i’m always around men,” she laughs, scrunching her nose. “i live with a man. so being around women is always a very nice change.”

“right, you recently moved in with logan sargeant in the uk,” hannah points out. “if you don’t mind me asking, how did that decision come about? because you’re really good friends with oscar piastri as well, how come he doesn’t live with you guys?”

“oh, that’s an interesting point,” emma frowns. “i never thought of that.”

“yeah, so growing up oscar and logan actually stayed with my family on and off just because they’ve got brothers and sisters that their parents would have to attend to back home,” she recalls out loud, remembering the sleepovers they’ve spend in the living room with her siblings. “i think when i was… like 15, oscar was 16, and logan was 17, obviously.

i think my sister and i had a really bad fight that turned the house upside down. i mentioned that i couldn’t wait to move out and never speak to her again — i was very overdramatic as a teen. and they were like ‘yeah, that’s a good idea! we should get a place!’”

“oh, so you didn’t even propose the idea of living together?”

“exactly! they just love inviting themselves to be a part of my life. they’ve got cars while i don’t, so that’s a big plus,” she laughs. “then, well, oscar met lily when he was 18 and they got an apartment together after oscar landed reserve driver for alpine. which then left logan and i to kinda figure things out. then, we both landed a contract to race in the 2023 season and both our racing headquarters are in uk, luckily. so we made the decision to move in together earlier this year.”

“so oscar bailed!”

“that’s okay,” she scoffs, waving off the host’s concern. “we live pretty close by, so lily and oscar are always at our place anyway.”

“so, i totally don’t wanna get into it. but like, girl to girl,” hannah grins giddily. “and i promise we’ll get into the racing stuff in a bit, but i’m just curious.”

“it’s okay because i like you guys,” she jokes. “ask away.”

“there’s a lot of speculation that you and logan seem to be too close to just be best friends,” hannah explains. “and it’s seemed to be a trend since you were in f2 together, so i just wanna ask you if… well…”

she smiles. this isn’t exactly the first time she’s heard that. while they preferred to keep their relationship under wraps for several reasons, her and logan aren’t very discreet either.

there are pictures on the internet, after races where they head to weigh-in together with logan holding her things, laughing as they walk, which is normal. but there are also a couple of pictures where they were caught with logan’s hand on her cheek, or of them walking in the paddocks with her hands wrapped around his arm.

she’s not shocked that people talk about their relationship, but more shocked that everyone seems to shrug it off as them being really good friends.

“we’re actually not romantically involved at all,” she lies, though her cheeks flush up at the thought of her boyfriend. “i think we met really early on in life so we’re super comfortable with each other.”

“so, you’re setting the record straight. you don’t have a man.”

she nods firmly. “i don’t have a man. not planning to get one — i’ve just been really busy with my career. if anything, logan is my stand-in date for every event.”

“that’s true friendship if i’ve ever seen one.”

Canon divergence Arcane au!! Post-apocalypse AU!! (Ofc with a side of timebomb)

Based on the part of season 2 where Viktor is literally taking over the world and also the alternate universe where he literally succeeded.

I think it’d be interesting to see a jinx/ekko/jayce team up. Would they get along? Absolutely not. Jinx literally blew up the council room and Jayce created hextech which contributed to a loss of wealth for the undercity. Jinx and Jayce would kill each other if not for the fact that they’re probably the only people who have survived.

If you’re asking why jinx, Ekko and Jayce, it’s because Jinx and Ekko could conceivably avoid Viktor’s control (we literally see jinx avoid it and Ekko has the Z-drive) and Viktor straight up has a soft spot for Jayce and while the Viktor who is Actively Causing the apocalypse may not show it, AU Viktor could have shown him how to survive in the Apocalypse. Also Jinx and Ekko just have incentive to keep him alive considering he’s probably the one who would know how to kill Viktor best (considering the whole AU thing and being his partner for Years)

I think this kind of au would be an interesting way to dissect the darker parts of their characters.

We see a lot of that from jinx in the show and I do think she would struggle to find the will to Stay Alive when literally everyone else is gone. Tbh I think she’d mostly be there on spite and murderous intent for Viktor. She is in Survival Mode which, all things considered, isn’t a bad thing in the Apocalypse. To an extent, they all are. The apocalypse def made her crazy less strange and more helpful. The ability to make weaponry out of basically anything and a willingness to blow up anything that moves is useful all things considered.

Ekko is grappling with the fact that pretty much all the firelights are dead or won’t last long while also trying to keep Jinx and Jayce from killing each other (intentionally or not). He’s lost a lot of people in a short amount of time and is Not Coping Well. He’s always focusing on what’s in front of him but it’s all kind of really bad rn tbh. He’s more temperamental than usual and it matches up badly most of the time with Jinx. She knows this logically but also doesn’t really know what to do abt it. Sometimes to get their minds off everything they talk abt traveling far away from everything where Viktor hasn’t reached yet and living the rest of their lives peacefully. They know it’s practically a pipe dream but sometimes a dream can be all you need to hold out some hope. Ekko is usually the strategist, planning where they go and when. In battle/right before he can give brief warnings because of the Z-drive and has had to adapt to using more force than he’s used to in order kill Viktor’s minion things.

Jayce is… weird honestly. He just went through one apocalypse to get back to another which is arguably worse. He’s prepared and knows what this is like but sometimes the “rich kid” personality still shines through. Like, he’ll eat raw food and sleep on the floor but he’ll still complain abt how he misses his bed and the feasts the kirammans used to throw. I feel like he’d learn a lot abt the undercity from mostly Ekko but also jinx. Jayce being pretty useless without a proper lab would be pretty funny when Jinx and Ekko have always operated without one. Jayce is usually the one getting resources like food/shelter.

I think it’d be interesting to see them fight and interact together considering they’re all so different and we never really see them together in canon.

Ekko and Jinx spend a lot of time together in this au both out of necessity and because they know each other better than anyone. Sometimes their relationship reminds Jayce of his and Viktor’s ‘partnership’. Jayce would get closer to the two even if he’ll never truly understand them. I think Jayce and Jinx would go from “I am two seconds from murdering your ass” to a weird type of sibling-ish relationship. Meanwhile Jayce and Ekko would be bonding while planning what to do next. Also every time Jayce mentions Viktor, Jinx and Ekko both look at him in the “I Know What You Are” type of way. They know better than anyone that just because someone is your enemy, that doesn’t mean you stop loving them.

i just need you to know that i have had such an intense and constant MCU hyperfixation for my entire life that since around 2015 i have been rewriting the movies in little ways in my head

like each new thing that's come out im like "hmm yes but what if this happened like this instead"

total fanfic vibes, but i've never written any of it down, so my head is full of like a decade of movie rewrites building on each other

so i have my own FOURTH, IMAGINARY group of Avengers going on in my head too,

so to me it's like

i have changed so many things in my head over the years that im basically living in an alternate timeline of movies at this point

and just for fun, My Freaks consist of Bruce, Nat (she is ALIVE to me, i love my girl, my friend, my.....uhhh...mom? sister??), Loki (main MCU timeline who would have died in Infinity War- but like hell i would let her die though- and variants; Kid Loki, Alligator Loki, Boastful, Classic, President, TVA Loki too but he IS still in a tree rn even in my mind fanfic), Milo from Morbius (shut up and let me have this, and once again i refuse to let him die- this is a pattern), Ben Affleck Daredevil, Kitty Bobby John Rogue Wolverine Magneto Professor X Toad Nightcrawler Jean Scott Storm Beast all from the 2000s trilogy, Channing Tatum Gambit, the 2005 Fantastic Four, Tom Hardy Eddie & Venom, the Spot from ATSV, Harley Keener (Ironman 3), Moon Knight, Age of Ultron Pietro (my boy didn't even get to be called Quicksilver, and he was shot to death? not my boy, no he's FASTER than bullets, what the hell happened there, no he's alive actually)

basically everyone who wasn't in a team (Daredevil), were left over from a team who split up or retired (Bruce and Nat), were in the Void (most of the Lokis, also Daredevil, 2000s Xmen, Gambit, Fantastic Four), died (also Nat, quite a few from the 2000s Xmen grouping aswell), or haven't been in much of a big story yet (Harley, Gambit so far, Spot since his story is a 2-parter and BTSV isn't here yet so i yoinked him into MY story)

i built this team in my mind cave, with a box of scraps

really i snatched a lot more of them after Deadpool and Wolverine, like hey, if we have a bunch more people in the Void, people not in mainline MCU, imma take em,

but overall once NWH brought in magic that can connect to other universes i was like ooohhhh yah okay i'll branch off into other movie universes too, grab Milo- i want a giant lizard man AND a vampire please, let's make it WEIRD

like i needed an actual scientific/magical in universe reason to justify why other universes could link together haha- nothing means anything but also everything means everything and my brain is a fun place

i've connected a lot of things in odd ways at this point, like Harry from the Maguire trilogy is dating Harley, Tales of Asgard Loki is friends with TSSM Harry and Xmen Evolution Wanda, Sylvie lives in New Asgard and is neighbors with Thor and Love and sometimes Mobius lives at her place for a while, Maguire trilogy Sandman helps out with Morgan and Love and they have playdates with his daughter Penny, Happy is training venom movie Mulligan (and now his symbiote Toxin) to work security at Stark Industries, Nicolas Cage Johnny Blaze is friends with TSSM Montana and they wear cowboy hats and ride motorcycles together, Kid Loki also helps out with Love and now he gets to be the big brother

and also everyone else i love is alive too :)

and i put other people into other universes too, like Elektra and Daredevil aren't together anymore and she doesn't care about him so he's in the MCU universe, and she's in the Andrew Garfield Spiderman universe because why not- also i put Blade and Ghost Rider there

Marvel should let me make a movie- it'll be weird, kinda fan servicey, kind of mentally ill, but very intricate and loving

i am completely insane :)

i've put the MCU, the xmen, the spiderverse, Venom trilogy, and many others in a blender and made an unsettling smoothy

Since some of you MIGHT know the fact that I am obsessed with the eldritch possibilities of the Force in Star Wars (especially since not many people know that the Time Travel fic is about to get Super Fuckin Weird soon and that’s saying something cause I’m writing this after I’ve already revealed that most of the clones are gonna end up back in time) aaaaaaaaaand I am also the type of autist that takes things SUPER literally in a way that makes me hate poetry, take music seriously, and ‘visual poetry’ is not real wdym that’s just an alternate universe where weird shit happens-

Anyways. I have always been somewhat obsessed with Star Wars Visions since it came out, and my fave episode is S2E1: Sith. Earlier I was thinking about the speeder cycle that Lola has in it, and I wanna find out what type of cycle that is so I can put it in a fic (I think in the fic where Jaster finds Obi-Wan in the jungle and adopts him and brings him home, he would eventually get Obi-Wan one for like his 18th birthday or something, saying ‘it’s nearly crash proof’ only for him and Jango and Arla to watch in worry the entire time Obi is on it because ‘👁️👄👁️ the lot worker that sold me it said it wasn’t possible to go that fast on it’ and now Boga is trying to bite it when Obi passes her and they are SO worried)-

But the other reason I wanna rewatch it rn!!! Is because I take the visuals very literally. And I think I wasn’t the only one obviously but apparently a lot of other people completely ignored the visuals, saying it’s part of the metaphor but I’m over here like screeching at my caseboard like ‘THE VISUALS ARE LITERALLY HER HIDING HER PRESENCE IN THE FORCE SHE HAS SHADED HERSELF INTO ANOTHER BRANCH OF THE UNIVERSE TO HIDE FROM HER MASTER’ like. Honey. It’s the force. It’s not just visual metaphor bruh she’s found a way to hide in the edges of the universe and her look of colour on the galaxy is how she continues to sustain herself with minimal interaction with the universe!!!

‘Oh but why can she still fight her Sith master-‘ don’t be dense you shit, when she found a door that was already fully coated in colour despite it being non-living, she was clearly shocked and tried to get into it, without realizing that was a Sith portal BACK into the world of physical being and the only way her master could trap her into dealing with him!!!!!

Anyways. I want to make Lola a character in fics the same way I have Jaster or Fay in fics. They’re not big screen characters or even well known characters, but fans seem to love all of them.

And in the time travel fic it would actually make sense for Obi-Wan to accidentally run into her at a certain point and charm her with his big smiles and complimenting her paintings and grin really big and point to his mouth and say he lost his fang caps recently so his fangs are all tiny again, aren’t they cute??? Anyways. Yeah.

Okay, so a couple days ago, I made I post while I was in a flare up about how I was irritated with some Kanera fanfiction or some fanfiction involving Kanan Jarrus, which you can find here 👇

I expressed how frustrated I was with some people who will completely write Kanan's blindness out of their fanfiction because it's 'easier' to not have any disabled characters in their story.

I said that if you find yourself struggling to write a disabled character, reach out or take pointers from disabled writers. Well, even though no one asked for it, I decided I should give a few pointers on how to write disabled characters.

Now, before we get started, I wanted to clarify that I myself am disabled. I have a physical disability that causes chronic pain as well as other symptoms that flare. I also have a psychiatric disability as well as being neurodivergent. I did state in my original post that if I was wrong or incorrect in any way, to please educate and correct me. The same thing applies to this post.

1. Keep this as a golden rule, disabled characters in sci-fi or fantasy, will translate to disabled characters in Alternative Universes. I would argue that Kanan would probably not be a difficult character to write in fanfiction. A good chunk of season 3 and a bit of season 4 in Star Wars Rebels was dedicated to how Kanan copes and accommodates his blindness. Of course there is no acceptable excuse to write out a characters disability out of your story, but, writing Kanan would not be that hard to write and accommodate in your story.

2. So I may get some comments saying, "Well, how do I explain how Kanan became blind in a modern AU?" Well, there's two answers for that, one, that's up to you and how you choose to write that. Second, you don't have to explain how your character became disabled or why your character is disabled. A common misconception is that disabled people have to explain why they are disabled, and that's just not true. It's also rooted in ableism. Phrases like "What happened to you?" or "Why are you using [insert mobility device]?" are ableist and inappropriate to ask because you could possibly be asking someone to relive or rehash trauma that they have. And also, disabled people do not owe you an explanation, nor a justification of their existence. So mind your business and your ableism.

3. Avoid tropes such as the inspiration p*rn, or "tragic burden" in your stories. Again, disabled people do not have to justify their existence by being an "inspiration". Yes, disabled people are capable of doing inspirational things, but we're not inspirational for just existing. Next, don't constantly potray your disabled character as a "tragic burden". Yes, it's a huge adjustment when you have acquired a disability and it can be very burdensome. But, once you learn how to accommodate your disability, such as managing your symptoms, support groups, or finding a community, you start to find your rhythm. Always remember to show the good and the bad that come with disability. Also, remember that we are allowed to be upset about our disability and mourn the life we once had, but, a lot of us do not constantly think about it to the point where that is our only thought throughout the day.

4. This is kind of like number three, but, if your disabled character is in a relationship, do not make it one of those "Well, I see the person, not the disability." Yes, this may sound good at first, but what you're actually saying is that you don't want to acknowledge our disability, and that's a huge problem. Yes, acknowledge us as people, but, acknowledge us as disabled people. Disability does impact our lives, and I personally would not want to be in a relationship with anyone, romantic or friendship, that completely ignored that I'm disabled.

5. It's a VERY good idea to research your characters disability. Research how it may impact your character, if they require any mobility equipment, therapies, or other accommodations. I promise, this research will help you with your character so much. It will help make your character more accurate.

6. Don't put this fear mongering over disability in your story. There's already a lot of stigma surrounding disability as it is. Remember, disability is a part of life, and at some point, we all will become disabled. Some of us just become disabled young or are born disabled. Also, don't not try and demonize mobility aids. Using a wheelchair, crutches, cane, walker, etc. is not a sad or unfortunate thing. They do what they are meant to do, aid our mobility. They help us and give us so much freedom.

7. Listen to more disabled writers. Disabled writers can help a lot with advice and guidance with disabled characters. Listen to their experiences on their disability, how it impacts them, and any sort of ableism they may have faced (if they are willing to talk about it).

8. Have fun writing your disabled characters. Once you get the hang of writing disabled characters, it won't be as hard as you originally thought. Writing disabled characters is not complicated at all, especially when you educate yourself.

Ex: mine is low fantasy, just trying to have fun with my own lil spin on classic medieval second world fantasy :)

Hi Emry! I totally forgot today was Wednesday lol. I’ve got two main worlds/stories but for this I’ll just focus on one of them. 

This one is a sci-fi/fantasy galaxy with 7 planets and 2 suns and too many moons to keep track of. My main characters and story take place on a moon made up almost entirely of water, mostly deadly, stormy seas. The conditions on the surface aren’t livable so everyone lives in underwater structures built into the rock that makes up the rest of the moon.

It’s mostly based around war. Most everyone has some sort of power or physical attribute that they got through many generations of scientific advancement and selective breeding. This moon uses its citizens in an ongoing series of wars trying to conquer the neighboring planets and moons and are pretty successful with that since they’ve designed people specifically for violence whereas other places either haven’t tried to modify people or have used it for peaceful purposes.

Redid my reference sheet back in december! I'm still not 100% with their design tbh but im too lazy to do a redesign again! Also i cannot keep their wing size consistent it's horrendous. (Maybe at the end of the year ill redo it again ... a version 3 ... like its a tradition ...)

Edit: I've now turned this into a masterpost for my oc so have a summary of their stories!

Canon:

World setting: Quick explanation of the world bc it's important to understand why I wrote what I wrote. The world is basically the same as ours except with hybrids and magic and stuff (I'll shortly refer to this as just hybrids) and also better in the sense that people are more tolerant. Even though humans still make up the majority of the population, you'll rarely see any specism going on. I don't base the places where everything goes on on a specific country/culture, just how I see the world (though I definitely wouldn't say everything takes place in Belgium). SO to say it shortly, it's a happy world made for me to self-indulge.

Story: Fraos grew up on a farm with their dad. They are pretty well off, not millionaires or anything but they can afford niceties. Fraos is homeschooled by their dad who is pretty good at it. Their dad is a chicken avian like them and his name ... is David (I suck ass at coming up with masc names sorry). Once Fraos is 'graduated' from secondary (I am going to use the Flander's school system fuck you guys with ur highschool and shit) they decide they want to go to college and live on their own during that. They also wanna try and live off their own money, so while their dad provides the money needed to attend college and the first month or two of rent, Fraos gets 2 jobs. A day and a night job. the day job is working at a cat shelter, and the night job is working at a night cafe (idk if this actually exists but in the first itteration of the story it was a bar but that doesnt fit in with my current vision). The only reason they do 2 jobs it purely because they want to, even though 1 would suffice. At college they are studying photography, and then we are in the present day in canon. I hope that's a bit clear.

One thing I didnt mention is that their mom died when they were like 3-4 years old so I thought I'd say that real quick. Their mom was a snow owl avian

Alternate universes:

Okay so Fraos is in 2 alternate universes and 1 au that is kinda not an au but it's complicated, and I'm also going to add summaries to those stories here bc im on a roll anyway

Starting off the the au but not an au bc the other two aus are loosely based on this on. This is the story I have made with a couple of friends over the past like 4 years or so about our minecraft SMPs. We are on our 4th one right now, and I'll only be talking about that one bc Fraos wasnt a thing in the first 3, rather it was a different oc whom I killed off in the 3rd smp. I am however not going to explain the entire story and setting bc then I'd still be writing by tomorrow

Fraos goes through roughly the same stuff as in the original story, but instead of wanting to go to college they wanna go explore the world, so they do. Eventually at some point they get knocked out off the air by some wind and crash into a little camp. This camp is from a group of travelers who are searching for the Farlands, and Fraos decided to join them because it's a great way to explore. Eventually they all give up on their search, especially bc there are some elders who are on the verge off death. (I mean they do die somewhat but that's too long to explain and not important rn). they all settle near eachother, Fraos settling in a small mountain area. Semi important is that they arent used to being around other people so they may or may not spy on people to see how to act. Anyway and bunch of stuff happens and eventually a tech guy named Ximie wages war on the non tech people, which are Elmo Jr. and, well, Fraos. Somehow. I actually dont know bc we never write this shit out and it makes me forget what the consensus is. Anyway uuhmm sort of nuken and nuclear warfare blabla bla they all have to move bc their homes are destroyed fromm the war and they go to a desert (for some reason all of them idk). Fraos is really upset that their home got destroyed and is now trying their best to recover.

The next au is my from one to another au (https://archiveofourown.org/series/4077508). Just know that they're a wizard mage whatever and they lived on a ship before they docked long time in the primary location of the story. I made this design in gacha life 2 so here you go:

It's a bit outdated tbh cuz they DEF would not wear a skirt (i dont even know what that outfit is for anymore) but yeah. I cannot draw that hat for shit so this is all you get.

And then the last au, my personal favourite is my I love my wife au (https://archiveofourown.org/series/4419658) which is just pure self-indulgence and me trying to write a romantic relationship shipping mine and my online wife's ocs (we arent actually together btww thought I'd mention that. she does have a girlfriend and everything I write is just fiction, not RPF)

Here the story is exactely the same as the original, except they meet Smiley and everything. If you wanna know more just read it, but know 99% of it was written around or past midnight. I didnt write everything in chronological order and i keep procrastinating on making a list with everything in order sooooo just figure it out tbh

Episode 1: "Into the Storm"

By Taylor Anderson, Book 1 of the Destroyermen series.

Okay, so, on the recommendation of my most esteemed mutual @frogblast-the-ventcore , I have been coerced to read the Destroyermen series, and post my thoughts about them as I do.

So, for part 1, here we go. I'm going to assume those of you reading have read the book, cause if you haven't, you should be going to buy it, right now. I mean it.

First and foremost, this book was written by a ww2 nerd, for ww2 nerds, and by god does it show. Taylor Anderson is a professor of history, and it shines through in every part of the book. From the technical details of the USS Walker, to the shortcomings of the Mk. 14 torpedo, to the attitudes, lives, and habits (both good and bad) of a 1942 Asiatic fleet destroyerman. Speaking of which, call me Dean Kamen, cause that's a perfect segway to talk about

The Characters

To begin with, do not expect a normal person's assessment of these characters. Expect a Normal™ person's view of them.

First: Captain Matthew Reddy. Oh my lord this man. He's an absolute mess, knows it, and yet cannot let that show, because, well he's stranded in an alternate universe with humanoid lemurs and sapient velociraptors. In my head, he's got total divorced dad energy going on, 30-something going on 50 because of stress, greying at the temples but still hot in a DILF kind of way, not overly muscular, and with one hell of a voice. (I'll admit the audio book colored my perception, but it's a fantastic audio book so I don't care.)

Next, Chack-Sab-At, the biggest and most baddass guyfailure to ever live. "Oh, I'm a pacifist" then the very second that an enemy without moral repercussions comes along he's all "I love violence and killing and murder and death and injuring people and blood and biting and cutting and-" like, seriously, dude says he's a pacifist before turning around and becoming Furry Doomguy.

Next, Dennis Silva, he-who-was-told-not-to-fuck-the-monkey-cats-but-did-it-anyway. Moving on,

There's literally more I love about the characters than I want to sit here and type out, so I'm going to cut it short, but Oh My God these characters are A+.

Next, I just want to touch on something these books made me feel. A lot of times, as an USAmerican with an actual brain, I can get bogged down in the fucked-up shit my country has done and feel like I can't celebrate what makes the US cool without making it sound like I'm excusing all the bad stuff, but this book kinda made me stop for a minute and go "man, the US is kinda fucking rad, when you think about it." Because, you know what? It is. Yeah, we've done fucked up shit, but we've also done some pretty awesome stuff. For every My Lai Massacre, there's a moon landing. For every Trail of Tears, there's a Berlin Airlift. Sometimes, it's okay to take a moment and just go "Fuck yeah, guys. Were pretty cool." Because this book really makes you feel that, at least it did to me, but I'll get off my red, white and blue high horse and keep going.

Alright, now we come to the part that I need to get out...

embarrassingly, I used to run a fandom blog (think superwholock but heavy on the Sherlock, with some HP in there before JK Rowling showed her true terf colours) and a Muse blog (they are still my favourite band and I can now happily say I’ve seen them live 3 times!).

I’m now 23, about to graduate from uni with a English Literature & Spanish degree, where I specialised in creative writing poetry :)! I write weird, queer, eco-horror narrative poetry about transhumanism, bodies, gore, and other fun stuff. I probably won’t be using tumblr for that, but if I’ve peaked your interest you can find me on IG @ devilfruitpoems. I recently wrote a book (!) as my dissertation which I feel like tumblr would really enjoy if it still has the spirit of the site I remember lol.

right now, I’m really into mcr (obviously, I never grew out of that), old patd, other emo-aligned groups, post-punk, alternative 80s/new wave, Midwest emo, shows like the walking dead, aggretsuko, the breaking bad universe (lol), and a lot of film bro movies although I do not share their gatekeepy attitude about what’s good and what isn’t. my favourite movie is literally Lego Batman. I’m really into fashion and self-expression, so probably will document some scenemo outfits here (I am lucky enough to have a job where I can dress how I like!), and of course I’m heavy into literature. I’ve been on a real Ursula K. Le Guin kick this year, and she inspired a lot of my dissertation with her eco-horror feminist science-fiction. soooo before her time. I’m honestly into a lot more stuff, but it’s hard to think of it all compactly to write in one post lol so you can always send me an ask. I’ve recently started playing breath of the wild (I’ve put it off for years) and I’m a big Nintendo head so expect some reblogs related to games as well :)!
