“Humans have such strange philosophies about the world,” Mafuyu commented one day as she examined one of her newest containers of color---a swirling mix of fuschia, navy, and rusted gold. Colors often matched the kind of lives people once lived, and these colors would be given back into the world through the other person who handled the colors of life.

“That’s what makes them human,” her companion (was it right to call him that?) replied. “They think of things we never could.”

Mafuyu hummed, drifting over to another box she��d had for years, waiting for its thrashing colors to calm down to be woven back into a newborn child entering the world. It wasn’t quite there yet, but Mafuyu could tell that it was slowly approaching its reusable date.

“What did you see this time?” Toya asked, his eyes trained on polishing his violin bow. Mafuyu glanced back at the new container.

“Cosmothetic.”

Toya glanced up at her. “...What?”

“Cosmothetic,” she repeated. Toya made a ‘keep going’ gesture with his hand holding the cloth. “That posits or assumes an external world.”

Toya blinked then returned to his violin bow. “So that means… They believe the world is real?”

“They believe that the physical world is real without trying to prove it.”

“But isn’t that the real world in a nutshell?”

Mafuyu shrugged. “Humans are weird.”

Toya huffed, picking up his violin from where it sat on the bar counter. Mafuyu moved over to one of her longer-standing containers, its cotton candy pink, blueberry blue, and royal purple mix calm enough to be returned to the world. She lifted the lid off, allowing Toya to dip his bow into the mix. Now colored with life that once left the world, the violinist took a deep breath and reinfused the colors into the world through new lives.

Colors drifted out from his playing as they always did, and Mafuyu stared at it for a few moments before returning to collect another batch of colors.

hi there, i'm zerro. welcome to toyamafu-writings. as i head into my college(-esque) years, my life has become a lot more stressful. as a writer, too, i struggle to keep moving forwards, often stuck in ruts for months at a time. additionally, there's not a lot of toyamafu content out there. i made this blog to kill three birds with one stone: write toyamafu to keep my sanity and writing alive.

this account will post a collection of four short drabbles, each a word of the day. if you're curious, i get them from @wittywords, dictionary.com, merriam-webster.com, and wikitionary.com. i hope to write all four every day before midnight, but as i mentioned, my schedule can be very busy---most likely, you'll only be getting them the day after even if i write them on-time. please hold me accountable to this journey.
