I feel like we need a name for the four Spidey gays (Miles, Pavtir, Gwen, and Hobie)

Like if we all just had a name for the four of them. It would be a lot easier for tagging fanart and even just talking.

The name can't be the Fruity Four because that's a Stranger Things thing. So, any suggestions?

As much as I like the insomniac Spidey games, the more I see people talking about them in the lead up to the new game, the more I think....

Why do people unironically say that it's peak Spider-Man? Story-wise the first is mid tier at best imo, with the performances carrying almost the entire plot on its back. The Miles game has better character writing overall imo, but severely suffers in the villain department because... the tinkerer is basically just doc Ock again, but worse (spider-man's close friend who via sad happenings turns to the dark side).

The combat definitely carries both games, with MM being a noticable improvement from the first game on that front.

The web swinging. Uh. Exists. (Thankfully insomniac let us know the traversal would be mid tier by giving us fast travel in an open world SPIDER-MAN game, never a good sign)

The side stuff in the first game was mid at best and kinda shit at worst, though that also was definitely improved in MM (and hopefully will be improved further in 2)

She wasn't... entirely off with that assumption. He'd definitely practiced it, but most of that was using both of his hands and without summoning Arséne. The latter part was something he'd only practiced a few times, and it took a few attempts to sync themselves up, and account for the difference in positioning.

But he'd made the effort to prepare, which was somewhat new for him, outside of Palaces. Even still, he wasn't about to do anything reckless with her at risk.

Her reaction definitely made all that practice worthwhile. Every single second of it. She was usually so eloquent, so for her to be made speechless??

Yeah, this was the best idea he's ever had.

"Wow indeed." He replied. It probably sounded a little like he was teasing her, but that wasn't his intention. Even having seen this view a thousand times, it still wowed him on each visit. And being able to actually take it in, as opposed to rushing by it as he swung on through, just made it all the better.

They were able to savor the view for a time, but eventually, their parachute brought them to rest on a small rooftop a few blocks away from the Government building. And as soon as their feet touched down, he made a show of snapping his fingers, dissolving the webbing into a cloud of red mist.

"So..? What'd you think? Not too shabby for a first date, right?"

As he set her down, he watched her carefully. They'd been swinging around for a little while now, and given the speeds they reached at times, he was making sure she didn't have a head rush. She'd probably be fine, given her experience with Johanna and Motorcycles in general, but better safe than sorry.

"I do have one more thing in mind before I take you home. Figured you could use a bit of a break from all the ups and downs."

Course, he didn't have to swing her home necessarily. They could always take the subway if she wasn't feeling up to it.

... he kinda hated taking the subway these days, but if it meant getting to spend more time with her, it'd be worth it.

"You up for some ramen?"

Ok, so, that was a little scary and her grip did tighten around him slightly as they began to move a little faster as gravity began to tug them down before another webline fired them up into the air rapidly. He explained how he was used to this before but she still couldn't really understand it.

However, the eventual view was more than worth it.

"Oh wow..." Makoto said softly as she gazed out over the view of the city as the pair slowly began to descend with the aid of a web parachute sort of thing, she assumed he'd practiced this, and judging by his reaction this was his biggest success to date. At least he had practiced.

"This is just... wow..." She really didn't have much to say about the view other than that but it was very clear she was enjoying this.

Sam Carpenter x Spider Man!Reader

Halloween time had come at last. And yet all was not calm for the Carpenter sisters and you, their friendly neighborhood Wolf Spider. The city was filled with masks and people in costumes. You knew all too well that anyone could wear a Ghostface mask, slash, and blend back into the crowd.

Trouble arrived the night before All Hallow's Eve. A murder of a film school student and his roommate. You snuck into the crime scene, Detective Bailey greeting you politely.

"Normally I wouldn't work with vigilantes" He intones.

"Well we're not under normal circumstances." you answer back. "knife?"

"Matches the slashes we found on that film studies teacher" Bailey answers back. His face goes ghostly pale.

"Ghostface"

"We don't know that yet!"

"Need more proof?" you head to the nearby ledge and swing out into the open air. You knew what it meant for your beloved girlfriend Sam and her sister Tara.

Your ear bud rings with the sound of your cell phone. A glance down to your phone reveals the caller id of Sam herself. Speak of the succubus herself.

"Hey honey" you answer the call. "How was your day?"

"My therapist was a total dick" she huffs.

You keep up the conversation while webswinging through the New York skyline, "Sweetheart, if i know a thing or two about blood, it's that you define you."

"But what about that incident with Richie?"

"I know several heroes who kill bad guys, it's only if you went after some innocent person that I'd get worried"

"Are you swinging?"

"M-Maybe"

"What have I told you about texting while swinging?"

"Well I'm not texting-" WHOOSH! A semi zooms right past you as you course correct your swing. "and that's why I love you so much, Sammie"

"Can you check on Tara for me?"

"Send me the party coordinates" you sigh as you swing toward NYU.

You found Tara drunk and being flirted with an obvious predator.

"Hey the lady and I were heading upstairs" the drunk college student continued pulling on Tara's arm. "Nice costume by the way"

"Sorry pal, you're heading downstairs" you sock the drunk predator straight in the jaw, knocking him clean out.

"I can handle myself, Y/N!" Tara intones before storming out of the party. "You're as bad as Sam sometimes!"

You quickly give chase. And so does Chad and Ethan. You charge after Tara and scoop her up before swinging off into the night.

"Where'd they go, dude?" Ethan asks your confused friend Chad.

"Put me down!" Tara drunkenly orders you.

"Well if you insist" you drop her from the height of your swing. Tara screams on the way down before you swing and scoop her up again.

"Are you crazy?!"

"Drinking's bad for your health and your grades, Carpenter" you offer a smirking smile under your mask. You come and set her down on top of the apartment's roof.

"Why can't you or Sam just allow me to make my own decisions?" Tara huffs.

"When you can start making the right ones." you huff back. "I don't mean to scare you but I can't let you wander the streets alone anymore."

"Why not?"

"Three murders recently." you remove your mask, "I think it might be-"

"Ghostface." Tara immediately sobers up before hugging you tight. "Thank you"

"You're like a sis to me, kid, I won't let anyone hurt you"

"What are we gonna tell Sam?"

"I don't know" you sigh, "could you tell her? I'm still on the hook for the whole texting and swinging incident"

Ghostface was loose in the Big Apple. You already knew who the targets were. Luckily, they had a Wolf Spider to back them up.

when you're out with somebody you've never met before, you don't know for sure that they're safe. so you need to make sure dad knows where you are and who you're with, and you need to have an exit plan in case things go bad. but that part's easy, since you've got weapons on you most of the time.

She'd been TRYING to repair a bit of her costume , considering there wasn't MUCH else to do with it, sans the mask . But having the final PIECE in her hands now ; it made it feel like a piece of her had been COMPLETED once again .

" You mean it ? " She asked, looking up finally , waiting for a PUNCHLINE to be delivered, or to find that she had somehow NODDED off while trying to thread a needle again .

Fellas, I have a confession to make.

I genuiely and unironically believe that Fortnite’s premise to offer me a character for every ocassion I wish to engage in, whether gameplay-related (kinda going meta and stuff), roleplay related (like using only lightsabers with star wars characters, or webswingers with spiderman character) or social related (kratos, master chief, leon kennedy and doomguy playing barbie girl at the festival) really fills their promise of “every character from everything”.

The artstyle, while it has its shortcoming on certain crossovers (Ahsoka looks like shit and you can't change my mind) and certain OC designs (Lennox IRL set), most of the time it stands out on its own with charming visuals and creative colour palettes, like Oscar the glow in the dark tiger, while, in case of crossovers, respecting enough of the original design to still make it recognizeable as that character; and you can totally tell when a character came out of Fortnite just by how they look, the shooter gameplay is fun and compliments the art style, and is so customizable that in case you don't think that, you can make it more appealing to you.

Playing this game reminds me of being a kid and playing with Clone Troopers mixed with Max Steel figures fighting against The Covenant and WW2 Germans just because those were the first toys I grabbed from the top of my box and sure, let's roll with that, I can make up a story to make this work, it makes sense to me and that's all it matters. It’s like one big toy box game that doesn’t take itself seriously, Goku doing the "party party" emote on the hoverboard is actually funny, Omniman dancing to Titi me pregunto after getting a kill always makes me chuckle, Spidergwen holding an RPG and blasting someone into the shadow realm with it looks so disproportionate as the gun is like twice as wide as she is that you can't stop thinking "what did I just saw?".

I enjoy playing the no-build mode and I actually have a great deal of fun with friends, getting into some actually engaging gunfights. The festival mode is actually very engaging and fun, and with the new animations of the Billie Ellish season it looks much more alive, like watching a cutscene, like this mishmash of characters from so many different franchises on your screen performing XO Tour Life by Lil Uzi Vert looks like it belongs together and that you're watching something that was meant to look like that. That hearing Wasted (the Juice WRLD song) vocals with Gamnam Style lead and the basline of Party Rock all backed by the instrumental of Roses is a remix that was meant to happy and this totally wasn't the result of 4 strangers randomly pressing buttons.

Fortnite is not a bad game, y'all are just mean.

This is already more than I thought I'd get, so this'll be fun.

6: Ann Takamaki

Getting the obvious ones out of the way first, though I typically prefer them as friends (I adore the Shujin Trio being besties, and I like the idea of him going to Ann for romantic advice, since he's absolutely clueless). That being said, the dorky nerd and the model who is WAY out of his league is a dynamic I really like (It's literally Peter & MJ in most continuities), and I think they'd play off each other really well. Especially when he's in costume. Out of all the female Phantom Thieves, Ann would probably enjoying webswinging with him the most, and just thinking about it does make me smile.

7: Sumi Yoshizawa

This one would definitely be a cute pairing, but it has the potential to be just as angsty, and I find that incredibly interesting. I mean, think about it; You have a girl who has trained her whole life to win a gold medal in gymnastics, and yet doesn't feel like she's ever going to be good enough. And then a guy comes along who she quickly starts crushing on, her number one supporter, who has absolutely no training whatsoever... and he's better than her. All because of a random bug bite. He tries to hide it at first, but the second she finds out... I mean, I can't even imagine how I'd feel in her shoes. There are so many directions that could go, and I am dying to explore them at some point, provided I could find a good partner for it.

8: Starfire

This is another one I have some experience with. Specifically when they were both adults, so she had been on Earth for a while. They had some really good chemistry, and it was kinda funny whenever he had to introduce her to anyone else. (Because this was Modern Starfire who has a much harder time passing for human, what with her fully green eyes, bright orange skin, and... Oh yeah, being a famous superhero who's saved the world a dozen times)

9: Ironheart

Honestly, I had already run out of ideas, and was just wracking my brain trying to think of something to put here but... Wow, this would work SO well. I haven't read a lot of her comics outside of her original run (which was a total rollercoaster btw), but I've read a ton of Champions (basically Marvel's answer to the Teen Titans) and I ADORE her there. She's not much of a people person, so it'd definitely take a lot of build up to get to the ship, but they're both brilliant engineers, so they could easily bond over that, and either try to one-up the other with their latest inventions, or lose track of time working together on a project or even just talking about a project. There's definitely something there.

10: Aigis, maybe?

Again, kinda just spitballing. I don't know too much about her, as I haven't gotten to her introduction in Reload, and it's been like... 2 years since I watched the anime, but from what I can recall, I think it could be interesting. And not just because she's an android and he's a mechanic, though that is part of it (He would be constantly be trying to figure out how she works, without being weird about it, and he would be incredibly fascinated by just talking with her and learning more about how she views the world), but also because her usual antics would mesh well with his own... eventually. It'd take a bit of getting used to, on both sides I think. They'd definitely make for good friends if nothing else.
