2. Understanding Disk Space Usage
Before freeing up space, it’s essential to understand how your disk space is being used. Navigate to Settings > System > Storage to view a detailed breakdown. This will help identify which areas need attention.
3. Utilizing Built-in Windows Tools
Disk Cleanup
Windows 10 features a built-in Disk Cleanup tool designed to delete unnecessary files. To access it:
Type “Disk Cleanup” in the search bar and select the app.
Choose the drive you want to clean.
Select the file types to delete (e.g., temporary files, system cache).
Storage Sense
Storage Sense automates disk cleanup. To enable it:
Go to Settings > System > Storage.
Toggle on Storage Sense and configure settings to regularly delete temporary files.
4. Uninstalling Unnecessary Applications
Unused applications take up significant space. To uninstall them:
Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
Review the list and uninstall non-essential programs.
5. Managing Temporary and Cached Files
Temporary files can quickly accumulate and consume disk space. Use Disk Cleanup or third-party tools to regularly clear these files. Browsers also store cached data, which can be cleared from the browser settings.
6. Cleaning Up System Files
Windows Update Cleanup
Old update files can take up substantial space. Disk Cleanup includes an option to remove these:
Open Disk Cleanup and select Clean up system files.
Choose Windows Update Cleanup.
System Restore and Shadow Copies
System Restore points and shadow copies can consume significant disk space. Manage these by:
Typing “System Protection” in the search bar.
Selecting the drive and clicking Configure.
Adjusting the Max Usage slider to limit space usage.
7. Using Third-Party Disk Cleaners
Third-party tools like CCleaner provide more comprehensive cleaning options. They can remove junk files, clean registries, and manage startup programs to free up space.
8. Handling Large Files and Folders
Identifying and managing large files is crucial. Use tools like WinDirStat to find large files and folders. Consider moving non-essential large files to external storage.
9. Moving Data to External Storage
Free up space by moving data such as videos, photos, and documents to external hard drives or USB sticks. Ensure you regularly back up important data to avoid loss.
10. Using Cloud Storage Solutions
Cloud storage services like OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox offer substantial space. Move infrequently accessed files to the cloud to save local disk space.
11. Conclusion
Regular maintenance and mindful storage practices can keep your Windows 10 system running efficiently. Use the tips and tools outlined in this guide to manage and optimize your disk space effectively.

complete beginner's guide to [kpop] giffing, as explained by me!
keep in mind everyone has a different style and process, so there are some things in mine that may not feel intuitive or helpful - if so, don't include it! if you can make the gif, and have fun doing it, that's good enough. this post also assumes interest in specifically kpop giffing, but can for the most part apply to other content as well. i would just recommend different sharpening and coloring for those.
separated by headings (not images, since i need those... for examples) - if you are skipping to a specific section, look for the orange text of what you are looking for!
table of contents: - picking your programs - additional tools and programs (optional) - finding files - importing to photoshop (vapoursynth, screencaps, etc) - photoshop shortcuts and actions - sharpening - coloring - export settings - posting on tumblr
programs:
if you already have photoshop / your giffing program installed and set up, go ahead. if you don't, i would recommend looking here to get photoshop. please make sure you follow instructions carefully and safely! i do know photopea is an alternative people use, and i'm sure there are others. i unfortunately don't know any tutorials to link and probably won't be much help in regards to those programs, but i'm sure there are some floating around on tumblr!
my gif process uses photoshop, so this tutorial assumes that as well. if you use a different one, you might be able to transfer this to what you use, i'm not really sure :(
additional tools and programs: - handbrake: upscaler, found here. i make my own settings and generally only use this on lower quality sources to give vapoursynth a better chance with encoding in higher quality. - davinci resolve: a program i use to make clips appear 60fps when they are choppy or too few frames for the gif to look nice, and occasionally to do pre-photoshop coloring! i use the free version. i do not use this all the time and it is a big program, so definitely don't get it if you think you'd forget to / not want to use it. - yt-dlp: open source, downloads pretty much any file i could want quite well. i use this for most of my downloads and for subtitles as well. does require some knowledge of code, or, at the very least, willingness to troubleshoot set-up. find it here! i can share the command lines i run for: video, audio, vid + sub. - 4k+ downloader: what most people use for youtube-source sets, i believe. you have a limited number of downloads per day on the free version, thus the other downloading programs. - jdownloader2: no limit but sometimes a little slow or will refuse to download because of not being logged into an account, etc. a good download alternative if you plan on downloading a lot and yt-dlp is too much. - vlc: free program, standard on some devices, good for viewing files. - mpv: excellent file viewing, can also deinterlace and screencap (if you do not have / use vapoursynth) - vapoursynth: mac users beware, it's not optimized or set up and is a huge headache. windows users, once you get it set up, it's golden.
finding files, what to look for, and how to use them: how to use is explained here, with a focus on smooth and nice speeds! but finding the file is the first step, so let's head there.
stages: k24hrs (invite only, feel free to private dm or send an ask off anon for a file - i will do my best to get it to you); kpopbuzzhub; sharing korea torrent (requires a torrent app); twitter (shrghkqud (only has recent files) and a few other uploaders, requires much more active searching). there are a few other places you can look, but it is often more trouble than it is worth (or costs $). i am also always willing to help people find materials, so you can ask me to help you look for something or to link a source i used for whatever set.
music videos: also sometimes on k24hrs. i use vimeo a lot (color graders, directors, etc., will upload clearer versions). sharemania.us has some kpop mvs, typically bigger groups (i.e. blackpink). this is a place i check for ggs. and if none of these places or searching for torrents on btdigg, or on google in korean works, i just download the highest quality setting from youtube.
other types: like vlogs and fancams, normally directly downloaded from youtube, instagram, or twitter using yt-dlp or sites specifically for the app (i.e. twittervideodownloader).
what do i look for? 1080i for stages (or 1080p) are often super nice as they're a .ts. 2160p/4k is often ideal, but it also depends on your computer and what you are comfortable working with! generally - not always due to ai upscale - a bigger file size (in the gbs, high mbs like 800) is better and has more detail that will look clear when you work on it. older stages (2nd gen and before, some 3rd gen) and music videos often always are lower quality due to camera quality, and much harder to find. if you have to use the youtube upload for a stage, it is definitely doable, but it may be slightly disappointing in the quality you want to achieve. it depends on what you're comfortable posting and making!
how do i use them? if you use vapoursynth, scenedetect (encode/process whole video) or timestamp (just a small clip) your file - if upscaling, using davinci resolve, or any other pre-processing, do that first. it will pull up a resizer and a program and once you encode, it will give you an output file using the size and settings you put. this will import to photoshop. if using mpv or another screencapping method, take your screencaps (again, all pre-processing first) and prepare to import. there are two ways to do that for screencaps. you can also just watch whatever you downloaded, i'm guilty of downloading concert files just for fun 😅
in the next sections, i will be using four different files of varying quality and sources to explain my steps. hopefully that is helpful!
example file 1 (4k and 60fps, obtained using yt-dlp) example file 2 (1080i, obtained from k24hrs) example file 3 (1080p HD, obtained using yt-dlp) example file 4 (pulled from the gg archive i use, master)
importing to photoshop (vapoursynth and mpv explained): using example file 1, i am processing in vapoursynth - i always do one extra second before and after the clip i actually want so it doesn't cut off any frames i'd like. i adjust my sizes based on what works best for tumblr (540px for wide, 268px for 2 column, and 178 for 3 column). i always use finesharp 1.5 (this setting is up to you! i used to use .7, so totally ok if it changes over time, too!) when you export in vapoursynth, you need the y4m header. i use export to mov preset.
when importing to photoshop using a video (so vapoursynth, video files, not screencaps):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i recommend making your selected range a little bigger than the frames you want so they don't accidentally not get included. delete any extra frames while in the frame animation and then turn it into video timeline. i turn all my layers into a smart object (select them all by clicking the bottom layer and then shift-clicking the top one, or use (on windows) ctrl + alt + a to have it select faster). set timeline framerate (if you want to, i always use 60).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
now your smart object is ready to sharpen and color!
using example file 2, i am processing mpv - i hit 'd' until deinterlace is on 'auto'. find the clip you'd like and hit your screencap shortcut (alt+s) for me - your screencaps should be super clear, it depends on how you set up your software (if mpv, what compression you told it). screencaps can take up a ton of storage so i recommend only screencapping what you need and deleting them after. when you hit your shortcut, play the file to the end of the clip you went and hit the screencap shortcut again to stop. your frames should be in the folder you designated as pngs now. delete extra frames now!
you now have two options: import as is, which can be a little slow, or turn them into dicom files. importing as is is done through stack. it will prompt you to select what is being loaded - change Use: to folder, and let it process. it will be slow. hit ok when the file list updates.
Tumblr media
when it is done loading: create frame animation -> make frames from layers -> reverse frames. i would crop now using the crop tool for processing speed, and then proceed to do video timeline, smart object, and frame rate. when cropping: on the top, above your document names, the second image should show up on the crop tool - this can set your dimensions. i zoom and crop screencaps using this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the other option is DICOM files, and what i use. when you have your pngs, do alt + d in the folder (windows), type cmd, and run this command: ren *.* *.dcm. press enter. it will update the files. on macOs, just rename the file type to .dcm.
Tumblr media
then, import as so (it will prompt you to select the folder your .dcm are in, and will not work if the files are not actually DICOM). i find it much faster than the stack import. crop when it is done importing for processing time, like the other screencap import style.
Tumblr media
create frame animation -> make frames from layers -> video timeline -> smart object from layers -> 60 fps.
photoshop shortcuts and actions: (windows) - ctrl + alt + a: select all layers - ctrl + shift + alt + w: export as image - ctrl + alt + shift + s: save for web (legacy) - this is the gif one!
actions are imported or created, i've shared my sharpening ones before. there are plenty you can find (or make) for a variety of things, such as aligning objects to a fixed position on all docs, doing the screencap reverse and import for you, etc. they are imported using load actions - select the [downloaded] .atn file and it'll pop up.
Tumblr media
sharpening: explained here, and has my actions (feel free to use). very important to the quality and clarity of the gif. the better the file, the clearer a gif looks, sharpening can only do so much. play around during this step!
coloring: very much the most personal taste stage of giffing. i explain my process here. in kpop giffing, we tend to focus on unwhitewashing. other giffing tends to be more aesthetic tastes and fun since the source has better colors to work with.
export settings: these are what i use! you need the 256 colors. i do not recommend lossy or interlaced. i think bicubic sharper is the clearest i have tried.
Tumblr media
posting on tumblr: use these dimensions FOR GIFS. edits can be different. height is up to you - i would not go over 800, but i think my quality looks weird past 600 range anyways.
Tumblr media
example gifs: yeji, from example file #1, imported using vs. uses no. 1 sharpening (altered) from my pack. colored. zhanghao, from example file #2, imported using mpv and the load via stack. uses no. 4 sharpening (altered) from my pack. colored. taeyeon, from example file #3, imported using mpv and the load via dicom. uses no. 1 sharpening from my pack. colored. eunbi, from example file #4, imported using vs. uses no. 2 sharpening from my pack. colored.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
if your gifs don't look how you want right away, that's okay! it takes time. my first ones were not great either. i am always improving on and working on my gifs. good luck and have fun hehe ♡

Resources for Creating: My Go-To things.
Update: I’ll be updating the list on this page from now on, since Tumblr can’t handle so many hyper-links in one post, on Dreamwidth - right here, so I won't have to update it multiple times. Please note: I keep updating this list, and updates aren't showing up on reblogs. Please check the original post for the most up to date list.
Sooo this is going to be a long comprehensive list. I got back to this game after a long time and with a different computer, with a dedicated graphics card, hurray! Development Update - December 2024
Tumblr media
Happy New Year, everyone! We're so excited to be able to start off 2025 with our biggest news yet: we have a planned closed beta launch window of Q1 2026 for Mythaura!
Read on for a recap of 2024, more information about our closed beta period, Ryu expressions, January astrology, and Ko-fi Winter Quarter reward concepts!
2024 Year in Review
Creative
This year, the creative team worked on adding new features, introducing imaginative designs, and refining lore/worldbuilding to enrich the overall experience.
New Beasts and Expressions: All 9 beast expression bases completed for both young and adult with finalized specials for Dragons, Unicorns, Griffins, Hippogriffs, and Ryu.
Mutations, Supers and Specials: Introduced the Celestial mutation as well as new Specials Banding & Merle, and the Super Prismatic.
New Artist: Welcomed Sourdeer to the creative team.
Collaboration and Sponsorship: Sponsored several new companions from our Ko-Fi sponsors—Amaru, Inkminks, Somnowl, Torchlight Python, Belligerent Capygora, and the Fruit-Footeded Gecko.
New Colors: Revealed two eye-catching colors, Canyon (a contest winner) and Porphyry (a surprise bonus), giving players even more variety for their Beasts.
Classes and Gear: Unveiled distinct classes, each with its own themed equipment and companions, to provide deeper roleplay and strategic depth.
Items and Worldbuilding: Created a range of new items—from soulshift coins to potions, rations, and over a dozen fishable species—enriching Mythaura’s economy and interactions.
Star Signs & Astrology: Continued to elaborate on the zodiac-like system, connecting each Beast’s fate to celestial alignments.
Questing & Story Outline: Laid the groundwork for the intro quest pipeline and overarching narrative, ensuring that players’ journey unfolds with purposeful progression.
Tumblr media
Code
This year, the development team worked diligently on refining and expanding the codebase to support new features, enhance performance, and improve gameplay experiences. A total 429,000 lines of code changed across both the backend and frontend, reflecting:
New Features: Implementation of systems like skill trees, inventory management, community forums, elite enemies, npc & quest systems, and advanced customization options for Beasts.
Optimizations and Refactoring: Significant cleanup and streamlining of backend systems, such as game state management, passive effects, damage algorithms, and map data structures, ensuring better performance and maintainability.
Map Builder: a tool that allows us to build bespoke maps
Regular updates to ensure compatibility with modern tools and frameworks.
It’s worth noting that line changes alone don’t capture the complexity of programming work. For example:
A single line of efficient code can replace multiple lines of legacy logic.
Optimizing backend systems often involves removing redundant or outdated code without adding new functionality.
Things like added dependencies can add many lines of code without adding much bespoke functionality.

Snow falls gently outside the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Stark Tower penthouse, each flake sparkling like tiny diamonds against the glow of New York City’s Christmas lights. Inside, the hum of J.A.R.V.I.S.’s automated systems and the faint strains of a holiday playlist create a cozy atmosphere. You’re lounging on the oversized couch, nestled under a throw blanket with a mug of peppermint hot chocolate warming your hands, your gaze occasionally drifting to the man who seems to embody the Christmas spirit this year.
Tony Stark is a whirlwind in the kitchen, entirely out of his natural habitat but utterly determined. He’s wearing a Santa hat that’s slightly askew, paired with an old, grease-stained AC/DC t-shirt and plaid pajama pants. His expression is one of laser focus as he uses an intricate set of tools — not culinary ones, mind you, but Stark-grade gadgets — to try and assemble what looks like a cookie cutter. The sight is simultaneously adorable and ridiculous, and you can’t help but smile as he mutters something under his breath about structural integrity and the optimal dough thickness.
“You know,” you tease, setting your mug down on the coffee table, “most people just buy cookie cutters. They don’t invent them.”
Tony looks up from his project, his brown eyes sparkling with mischief. “Yeah, well, most people aren’t me, are they? If I’m going to make Christmas cookies for my amazing girlfriend, I’m going to do it right.”
You laugh, the sound echoing warmly through the room. “Cookies? Is that what you’re calling this… whatever this is?”
“This,” Tony says, holding up a vaguely star-shaped cutter with an air of triumph, “is engineering at its finest. And you, Ms. Skeptical, are going to eat the best Christmas cookies of your life.”
Your heart swells, the playful banter a familiar rhythm in your relationship. He’s been like this for weeks — uncharacteristically domestic and brimming with holiday cheer. You suspect it has something to do with the Christmas gift he’s been hinting at. Every time he tries to subtly ask you about what you might want, you see that telltale Stark gleam in his eye, the one that means he’s up to something.
Meanwhile, you’ve already decided on your gift for him. It’s sitting in a little box, tucked away in your closet, and every time you think about giving it to him, a wave of nervous excitement washes over you. It’s perfect, you’re sure of it, but it’s also a bombshell — the kind of gift that changes everything.
Tony’s voice pulls you from your thoughts. “Hey, you good? You’re smiling like you’ve got some secret.”
You grin, trying to play it cool. “Just enjoying the show. You’re surprisingly cute when you’re playing mad scientist with cookie cutters.”
He raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by your sass, but the corner of his mouth twitches. “Careful, or I might make you wear the Santa hat and help me. Equal partnership, remember?”
“Nice try, Stark, but you’re on your own for this one.” You stretch lazily, enjoying the way his eyes flicker to you, lingering just a moment longer than necessary. “I have my own holiday preparations to deal with.”
Tony narrows his eyes suspiciously. “Preparations, huh? Like what?”
“Like… wrapping your gift.”
His expression shifts instantly, from suspicion to unbridled curiosity. “You already got me something? Why didn’t you tell me? What is it? Is it a car? A private island? Oh my god, is it a pony?”
You burst out laughing, clutching your stomach. “Why would I get you a pony?”
“I don’t know!” Tony throws up his hands. “You’re unpredictable. That’s one of the things I love about you. You could totally be the kind of person who buys her billionaire boyfriend a pony just to mess with him.”
Shaking your head, you rise from the couch and walk over to him, slipping your arms around his waist. He smells like a mix of motor oil and peppermint, a strangely comforting combination. “You’ll just have to wait until Christmas morning like everyone else.”
He groans dramatically, leaning his forehead against yours. “But waiting is the worst.”
You laugh softly, your fingers playing with the hem of his t-shirt. “You’ll survive.”
Tony pulls back, giving you that crooked grin that never fails to make your heart skip a beat. “You’re lucky I’m crazy about you.”
“I know,” you say, kissing his cheek. “And for the record, I’m crazy about you too.”
The rest of the evening unfolds in a blur of laughter, cookie dough catastrophes, and a flour fight that leaves the kitchen looking like a snowstorm hit it. By the time you crawl into bed, Tony is already brainstorming ways to improve his cookie cutter design, his notebook balanced precariously on his lap.
As you drift off to sleep, you can’t help but think about how much your life has changed since Tony came into it. He’s still the same brilliant, unpredictable man you fell in love with, but there’s a softer side to him now, one that he only shows to you. It’s a side that makes you even more excited about the future — a future that’s about to become even more chaotic, and infinitely more wonderful.
The next morning, you wake up to the smell of coffee and the sound of Christmas music playing softly in the background. Tony is already up, standing at the counter with his back to you, tinkering with something that looks suspiciously like a robotic arm holding a whisk. You smile, shaking your head at his endless creativity.
“Morning,” you say, wrapping your arms around his waist from behind.
He turns his head to look at you, his face lighting up. “Morning, gorgeous. Coffee’s on the counter.”
You grab your mug and take a sip, savoring the warmth. “What’s on the agenda today?”
“Shopping,” he announces, spinning around to face you. “I’m on a mission to find the perfect gift for the perfect woman.”
You raise an eyebrow. “And who might that be?”
Tony smirks. “Funny. You might know her. Smart, beautiful, has an impeccable sense of humor. Bit of a troublemaker, though.”
You laugh, leaning against the counter. “Well, good luck with that. She sounds like she has pretty high standards.”
“Oh, she does,” Tony says, his expression softening. “But she’s worth it.”
Your heart melts a little, and you reach up to brush a strand of hair away from his face. “You’re such a sap.”
“Only for you,” he quips, grabbing his coat. “Now, come on. Let’s go spread some holiday cheer — Stark style.”
The day is a whirlwind of activity. Tony drags you to every shop in Manhattan, insisting that he needs your input for “research purposes.” You play along, knowing full well that he’s trying to throw you off the scent of whatever he’s planning. At one point, he buys an absurdly oversized stuffed reindeer and insists on carrying it around for the rest of the day, much to the amusement of passersby.
By the time you make it back to the penthouse, your feet are aching, but your spirits are high. Tony collapses onto the couch with a dramatic sigh, the reindeer perched proudly next to him.
“That,” he declares, “was a successful mission.”
“Did you actually buy my gift, or was this just an excuse to act like a Christmas lunatic?” you ask, flopping down beside him.
“Both,” he admits, pulling you into his arms. “But mostly the gift thing. You’ll love it, I promise.”
You rest your head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. “I’m sure I will.”
As you sit there together, surrounded by the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree and the quiet hum of the city below, you realize that this is what you love most about the holidays. It’s not the gifts or the decorations — it’s the simple, joyful moments with the man you love.
And if everything goes according to plan, this Christmas will be one you’ll both remember for the rest of your lives.
The Stark Tower is unusually lively this morning, the energy of Christmas buzzing through its futuristic halls. Tony is in a festive yet frantic state, pacing the penthouse like a man on a mission. His hair is slightly tousled, his signature goatee impeccably groomed, but there’s an unmistakable panic in his eyes. In one hand, he clutches a tablet loaded with potential gift ideas — all of which he’s already rejected.
“I’ve got nothing,” he mutters to himself, collapsing onto the plush sofa. “Nothing! Billionaire genius, and I can’t even come up with a gift for my girlfriend. Pathetic.”
J.A.R.V.I.S., ever the voice of reason, chimes in. “Perhaps if you focused on what Ms. Y/N truly enjoys, sir, instead of cross-referencing gift lists from obscure online influencers—”
“Don’t start, J,” Tony cuts in, running a hand through his hair. “She’s already got everything. I mean, I got her that custom jet last year. How do you top a jet? You can’t just show up with…I don’t know…a fruit basket.”
“Fruit baskets do have their appeal,” J.A.R.V.I.S. responds with what could almost be sarcasm. “But perhaps the Avengers could provide some inspiration?”
Tony freezes mid-panic spiral. That’s not a terrible idea. Sure, it’s risky — the team isn’t exactly known for their emotional intelligence — but desperate times call for desperate measures.
“Fine,” he says, springing to his feet. “Avengers assemble… into my gift crisis.”
Tony’s first stop is the gym, where Steve Rogers is predictably punching a bag that looks like it’s seen better days. Captain America, always dependable. Surely he’ll have a wholesome, foolproof idea.
“Cap!” Tony calls out, striding into the room. “I need your help.”
Steve turns, wiping sweat from his forehead. “Help with what?”
“Gift ideas for Y/N,” Tony explains. “You’re all about romance, right? Flowers, dances, old-school charm?”
Steve raises an eyebrow. “I’m not sure that’s entirely accurate.”
“Come on,” Tony pleads. “What would you get Peggy?”
Steve hesitates, clearly caught off guard. “Well… something meaningful. Like… a locket. Or a handwritten letter.”
Tony blinks. “A letter? Seriously? What am I, a 1940s soldier? This is Y/N we’re talking about.”
Steve shrugs. “You asked for my opinion.”
“Yeah, and I’m returning it for store credit.” Tony claps him on the shoulder. “Thanks, Cap. I’ll try not to let your advice tank the relationship.”
Steve sighs, going back to his punching bag. “Good luck.”
Next up is Natasha, who’s in the middle of yoga in one of the quieter rooms. Tony approaches cautiously, aware that interrupting her zen could be hazardous to his health.
“Nat,” he begins, leaning against the doorway. “I need a favor.”
She doesn’t even open her eyes. “Is this about Y/N’s gift?”
Tony gapes. “How did you—?”
“Because you’ve been pacing around the tower like a maniac all morning,” she replies coolly, finally sitting up and fixing him with a knowing look. “What do you have so far?”
“Nothing. Nada. Zilch.”
Natasha smirks. “And you want me to tell you what to get her.”
“Exactly!” Tony points at her like she’s just cracked the code to cold fusion. “You’re sharp. Observant. What’s the perfect gift?”
Natasha considers for a moment, then says, “Something personal. Handmade, maybe. You’re good with your hands.”
Tony grins, but before he can make a suggestive comment, she cuts him off with a glare. “Not like that. I mean something that shows how much you care. Jewelry, maybe. Or art.”
“Jewelry… art…” Tony mutters, pulling out his tablet. “Great, now I just have to learn how to sculpt in two days. Thanks, Romanoff.”
“Happy to help,” she says dryly, already returning to her yoga pose.
From there, Tony tries Clint, who’s stringing up Christmas lights in one of the communal areas. Clint’s advice is as chaotic as expected.
“Easy,” Clint says, perching precariously on a ladder. “Just get her a puppy. Chicks love puppies.”
Tony stares at him. “I am not bringing a dog into this tower.”
“Why not? Dogs are great. They’re cute, cuddly, and they make up for any shortcomings in the gift department.”
Tony rubs his temples. “I’m not trying to distract her from my shortcomings, Barton. I’m trying to impress her.”
“Suit yourself,” Clint shrugs, hanging a lopsided string of lights. “But don’t come crying to me when she says she wanted a golden retriever.”
Bruce is in the lab, predictably surrounded by gadgets and scientific equipment. Tony hopes the two of them can put their combined genius to work on this problem, but Bruce is far less helpful than anticipated.
“Maybe you could write her a song,” Bruce suggests, pushing up his glasses.
Tony stares at him. “Do I look like Taylor Swift?”
“I’m just saying, it’s heartfelt. You could compose it digitally if you don’t want to sing.”
“Banner, I love you like a brother, but I’m not serenading Y/N.”
Bruce shrugs. “Your loss. I think she’d like it.”
“Noted.” Tony sighs. “Back to the drawing board.”
Even Happy gets dragged into the chaos. Tony finds him downstairs, supervising the unloading of holiday supplies.
“Happy,” Tony says, leaning against the doorframe. “You’ve known Y/N for years. What’s her ultimate Christmas gift?”
Happy looks at him like he’s sprouted a second head. “You want me to tell you what to get your girlfriend?”
“Yes.”
“And you’re asking me, the guy who drives you around?”
“Exactly.”
Happy shakes his head. “You’re hopeless, boss.”
Tony groans, throwing his hands in the air. “You people are useless!”
By the end of the day, Tony is no closer to a solution. He’s tried everyone — Sam, Bucky, even Thor, whose advice (“Forge her a hammer!”) was predictably unhelpful. He slumps onto the couch in the penthouse, utterly defeated.
“What if she hates it?” he mutters aloud. “What if it’s not enough?”
“Sir,” J.A.R.V.I.S. interjects, “if I may offer a suggestion?”
Tony sighs. “What is it, J?”
“Perhaps the best gift you could give Ms. Y/N is a reflection of your relationship. Something that reminds her of the journey you’ve shared.”
Tony frowns, the gears in his mind turning. A reflection of their relationship… Suddenly, it clicks. His face lights up with realization, and he jumps to his feet.
“J.A.R.V.I.S., you’re a genius!” he exclaims. “Why didn’t I think of this sooner?”
“I am programmed to be helpful, sir.”
Tony grins, already pulling out his tools and materials. He’s got a lot of work to do, but for the first time all day, he’s confident. This Christmas, he’s going to give Y/N something truly unforgettable. And if all else fails, well, there’s always next year’s puppy.
The workshop hums with activity as Tony works furiously on his latest project. He’s elbow-deep in wires and microchips, his face illuminated by the glow of holographic schematics projected in the air around him. His Santa hat sits forgotten on the workbench, replaced by his trusty welding goggles, and the upbeat carols playing in the background do little to mask his occasional muttered curses.
This gift has to be perfect. After his disastrous attempts at getting advice from the Avengers, Tony finally landed on an idea that feels right. It’s not about flashy extravagance or grand gestures this time. It’s about them — their inside jokes, their adventures, the little moments that have defined their relationship. The project is both ambitious and surprisingly sentimental, and it’s consuming every ounce of his focus.
“Sir,” J.A.R.V.I.S. pipes up, “Ms. Y/N has just returned from her errands. Should I inform her of your whereabouts?”
“No!” Tony yelps, nearly dropping a soldering iron. “I mean, no. Don’t tell her I’m down here. And don’t let her come in. This is classified.”
“As you wish, sir,” J.A.R.V.I.S. replies. “Though I should point out that she may grow suspicious of your… absence.”
Tony pauses, chewing his lip. “Good point. I’ll head up for a bit. Cover for me if she asks anything.”
“As always, sir.”
Tony wipes his hands on a nearby cloth, tugs off his goggles, and makes his way upstairs. As the elevator doors slide open, the familiar scent of pine and cinnamon fills the air, and he spots you in the kitchen, arranging a tray of cookies with a focused determination that rivals his own.
“Hey, Peppermint,” he greets, leaning casually against the doorframe. “What’s cookin’?”
You glance up, a playful smile curving your lips. “Cookies, obviously. You planning to swoop in and steal half of them before they cool?”
“Steal? Never.” He steps closer, the grin on his face equal parts mischief and charm. “I’m just here to, uh, supervise.”
“Uh-huh,” you reply, clearly not buying it. “What’s the catch, Stark?”
He slides an arm around your waist, planting a kiss on your cheek. “No catch. Just missed you.”
“Mm-hmm,” you hum, setting the tray aside and turning to face him. “And this has nothing to do with trying to figure out what I got you for Christmas?”
Tony’s feigned innocence is laughable. “What? Me? No. I’m just an affectionate boyfriend who loves his girl and—”
“Tony.” Your tone is firm but amused. “You’re not getting it out of me.”
He groans dramatically, letting his head fall against your shoulder. “Come on, just give me a hint. A tiny clue. Like… does it have wheels? Or a remote control?”
You laugh, shaking your head. “Not a chance.”
Tony leans back, his hands coming up to cradle your face as his eyes search yours. “Okay, what if I said you’re the most brilliant, stunning, wonderful person in the universe?”
“Flattery won’t work.”
“Bribery?”
“Nope.”
“Kisses?” He leans in, brushing his lips against yours in a way that’s almost enough to make you forget what he’s after.
Almost.
You pull back, grinning. “Still no.”
Tony lets out an exaggerated sigh of defeat, resting his forehead against yours. “You’re cruel, you know that?”
“Consider it payback for all the times you’ve teased me with surprises.” You poke him lightly in the chest. “Now go find something else to obsess over.”
“Fine,” he grumbles, though his eyes sparkle with affection. “But this isn’t over.”
It’s definitely not over.
The next day, Tony launches a full-scale investigation. If you won’t spill the beans, maybe someone else will.
Thor is his first target. The Asgardian is lounging on the couch, a giant mug of hot chocolate in hand, as he admires the twinkling lights on the Christmas tree. He looks every bit the picture of holiday contentment — until Tony plops down next to him with an unnerving grin.
“Hey, Big Guy,” Tony begins, his tone overly casual. “Enjoying the cocoa?”
Thor nods, his expression serene. “Indeed, Stark. This Midgardian drink is most delightful.”
“Great, great.” Tony leans in slightly. “So, uh… you’re pretty close with Y/N, right?”
Thor raises an eyebrow, clearly sensing an ulterior motive. “She is my dearest friend. Why do you ask?”
Tony shrugs, feigning nonchalance. “Oh, no reason. Just curious if she’s mentioned anything about, you know, Christmas gifts. Specifically mine.”
Thor chuckles, a deep, rumbling sound. “You wish to uncover her secret.”
“Exactly!” Tony’s eyes light up with hope. “So spill. What did she get me?”
But Thor shakes his head, his amusement evident. “I swore an oath of silence, Stark. Y/N entrusted me with this knowledge, and I shall not betray her.”
Tony groans, flopping back against the couch. “Come on, Thor. Just a hint. A riddle. Morse code, even.”
“I cannot,” Thor replies firmly. “But take heart, my friend. I am certain you will be most pleased with her gift.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Tony mutters. “Thanks for nothing, Thunderlord.”
Undeterred, Tony moves on to Sam and Bucky, who are bickering over whether or not Die Hard counts as a Christmas movie.
“Guys,” Tony interrupts, sliding into the seat between them. “Serious question: What did Y/N get me for Christmas?”
Sam snorts. “You think she told us?”
“Please,” Bucky adds, not even looking up from the screen. “Y/N knows we’re terrible at keeping secrets.”
“Exactly,” Tony says. “So if she did tell you, you’d crack by now. Which means she didn’t. Which means you’re useless to me.”
“Glad we cleared that up,” Sam deadpans.
Even Bruce, who’s usually patient enough to entertain Tony’s antics, is less than helpful.
“She didn’t tell me,” Bruce insists, adjusting his glasses. “And even if she did, I wouldn’t tell you.”
Tony sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Do none of you understand the concept of loyalty?”
Bruce raises an eyebrow. “Tony, if anyone here has loyalty to Y/N, it’s you. Why don’t you trust her gift will be amazing?”
Tony opens his mouth, then closes it. Bruce has a point. But that doesn’t mean he’s any less curious.
Back in his workshop that evening, Tony tinkers with his own project, trying to push thoughts of your gift from his mind. He’s almost finished now — just a few more adjustments, and it’ll be ready. As he assembles the final pieces, he thinks about all the moments that led up to this Christmas: your first date, the time you stayed up all night helping him debug a faulty suit, the way you make him laugh even on his worst days.
This gift isn’t just a present. It’s a thank you, a promise, and a celebration of everything you’ve built together.
And even though you’re driving him crazy with your secrecy, he knows one thing for certain: Whatever you’ve got planned, it’s going to be unforgettable.
With that thought, Tony sets down his tools, a satisfied smile spreading across his face. He doesn’t need to know what your gift is — not yet. For now, he’s happy just knowing he has you.
Christmas morning in the Stark Tower is a scene straight out of a holiday movie. The enormous tree in the living room is aglow with lights, its base surrounded by neatly wrapped presents. Snow falls gently outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, a soft white backdrop for the festive chaos unfolding inside.
You’re curled up on the couch in your favorite pajamas, a mug of hot cocoa in hand. Tony, ever the big kid at heart, has already passed out Santa hats to everyone present, including himself. He wears his tilted at a jaunty angle as he lounges beside you, an arm slung around your shoulders.
“All right, folks!” he announces, clapping his hands together. “It’s showtime. Let’s get to the main event: gifts.”
The Avengers have gathered around the tree, a motley crew of holiday cheer (and mild bickering). Thor booms with laughter as he rips open a package containing a novelty hammer-shaped mug. Natasha smirks as she unwraps a sleek new set of throwing knives from Clint. Even Bruce looks delighted by his custom-designed science gadget from Sam.
But you and Tony? You’ve been waiting for this moment all morning, both of you teasingly delaying the exchange of your gifts.
“You first,” you say, nudging him with your elbow. “I want to see what you’ve been hiding in that workshop of yours.”
Tony’s grin spreads wide, a mix of excitement and nerves. “Oh, trust me, sweetheart, this one’s worth the wait.”
He reaches under the tree and pulls out a medium-sized box wrapped in shiny silver paper. Handing it to you with a flourish, he leans back to watch your reaction, his eyes sparkling like a kid on Christmas morning.
You tear into the wrapping paper eagerly, revealing a sleek wooden box with a brass clasp. Inside, nestled in velvet, is a handcrafted piece of art—a delicate, intricate snow globe. The base is engraved with your initials intertwined with his, and the scene inside is unmistakably Stark: a miniature version of you and Tony, standing arm in arm next to a scaled-down Iron Man suit, all framed by a sparkling winter wonderland.
Your breath catches. “Tony… this is…”
“There’s more,” he interrupts, leaning forward eagerly. “Shake it.”
You do, and as the snow swirls around, holographic lights within the globe flicker to life. Tiny projections play out in the air—a montage of your most cherished memories together, from your first date to lazy mornings in the penthouse, all culminating in a tiny glowing heart, just like the one in Tony’s arc reactor.
Tears well in your eyes, and you look up at him, overwhelmed. “Tony, this is… it’s perfect. It’s us.”
He smirks, brushing it off, but you can see the pride in his eyes. “I figured I’d go for something understated this year.”
You laugh, setting the globe carefully on the coffee table before launching yourself into his arms. “Thank you. I love it. I love you.”
“I know,” he quips, pulling you into a kiss that’s soft and sweet. “Merry Christmas, Peppermint.”
The rest of the room groans at the display, but neither of you notice.
“Okay,” Tony says after a moment, clearly eager now. “Your turn. Let’s see what my genius, gorgeous girlfriend came up with.”
You grin, your nerves suddenly kicking in as you grab the box you’ve been hiding behind the tree. It’s wrapped in festive red paper, topped with a glittery bow.
“Here,” you say, handing it to him. “Be careful. It’s… uh… delicate.”
Tony narrows his eyes playfully. “Delicate? What did you get me, a Fabergé egg?”
“Just open it,” you reply, your heart pounding.
He takes his time unwrapping it, deliberately dragging out the suspense until you swat his arm. Finally, he pulls off the lid, revealing a soft, tiny onesie folded neatly on top. It’s bright red and gold, designed to mimic his Iron Man suit, with “Iron Baby” written across the front in bold letters.
Tony stares at it for a beat, then looks up at you, brow furrowed. “Uh… is this for… like, a doll? Or are you suggesting I start a baby clothing line?”
You can’t help but laugh nervously. “Keep going,” you urge, gesturing toward the box.
Still confused, Tony sets the onesie aside and peeks beneath it. There, tucked beneath a layer of tissue paper, are the ultrasound pictures.
He picks up the first one, his eyes narrowing as he examines it. The confusion melts away in stages—first to realization, then to shock, and finally to an overwhelming wave of emotion. He freezes, his hand trembling slightly as he holds the image.
“Wait,” he says, his voice hoarse. “Is this… are you…?”
You nod, tears brimming in your eyes. “Merry Christmas, Tony.”
For a moment, he’s completely speechless. His mouth opens and closes as he looks from you to the pictures and back again. When the tears come, he tries to hide them by rubbing his eyes, but there’s no stopping the emotion that floods his face.
“Oh, my God,” he whispers, his voice breaking. “You’re pregnant?”
You nod again, smiling through your own tears. “Surprise.”
Tony lets out a choked laugh, setting the pictures carefully back in the box before pulling you into his arms. He holds you so tightly it’s as if he’s afraid you might disappear.
“You made my gift look miserable,” he mumbles against your hair, his voice thick with emotion. “I can’t compete with this. This is… this is everything.”
“You don’t have to compete,” you whisper back, your arms wrapped around his neck. “This is our everything.”
When he finally pulls back, his face is lit up with a joy you’ve never seen before. He looks at the pictures again, then at you, then back at the onesie, shaking his head in disbelief.
“I’m gonna be a dad,” he says, more to himself than anyone else. “Holy—wow. This might be the best day of my life.”
You laugh, wiping at your tears. “You think you’re ready for this?”
Tony grins, his trademark cockiness shining through even as his voice trembles. “Are you kidding? I’m Iron Man. I was born ready.”
He pauses, then adds, “Although, uh, maybe I should baby-proof the workshop.”
The two of you laugh, and when Tony pulls you in for another kiss, the rest of the world fades away. It’s just you, him, and the tiny new adventure waiting for you both.
“Merry Christmas, Peppermint,” he whispers against your lips.
“Merry Christmas, Tony.”

Chapter 3:
Summary: It seems like the universe is out to get you as your plans fall apart rapidly.
It’s 6:00 AM Tuesday, Fall 9 and instead of being woken up by your usual rooster call, you’re roused by the loud buzz of power tools. Clearly Robin has already begun her work, so you might as well get up so you can complete yours as well.
You peek out the window before you get ready, just to make sure she’s alone out there with no other members of her family, specifically Sebastian. Seeing that the coast is clear, you begin your morning routine. As you hastily shovel down your slightly-under fried eggs, you begin making plans as to how to handle your night away from the farm and any possible contingency plans should they fall through.
After finishing all your chores on the farm and giving a friendly wave to Robin, you head over to Leah’s house with one of your best aged bottles of cherry wine to help sweeten the deal. Not that it’s necessary since Leah is your closest friend here in the Valley, but it’s more of a “thank you” gift for when she happily agrees to let you spend the night this coming Thursday. Plus, it’ll give you a chance to tell her all the crazy shit that’s been happening with Sebastian (omitting certain details obviously).
As you approach Leah’s little cabin, you see her round the corner of her home with a concerned look on her face and phone to her ear. You only catch a few words at the end of her conversation before she spots you and proceeds to end the conversation. She waves and embraces you with a quick hug, still maintaining a worried look on her face.
“Hey, everything okay?”, you ask with genuine concern. It’s not often you see Leah this stressed out.
“Not really,” she half-heartedly chuckles with a defeated look in her eyes. “I have a wicked bad termite infestation so I’ve been on the phone with exterminators all morning. The fastest appointment any of them have is for tomorrow but because of how bad the infestation is, they’re gonna have to fumigate my house, which means I have to stay somewhere else for the next three days.” She gives an exasperated huff before she continues. “So… I’m looking for a temporary place to stay and also trying to move all my wood sculptures out of the termites path of destruction. Thankfully, the one thing they haven’t gotten to is those so I’m trying to keep it that way. Mayor Lewis said I can store my sculptures and supplies in the community center for the time being so… it’s something.” She looks down at the ground, collecting herself before and looks back up to you. “So what’s up with you?” she asks in a joking tone trying to maintain some optimism in the situation.
“Oh, I…” You debate whether or not to tell her you also needed a place to stay since your problem seems far less dire than hers. “I just wanted to stop by and give you this.” You hand her the hand-packaged bottle of wine with a sympathetic smile.
“Fuck, this is exactly what I need.” She pulls the cork out with her teeth and takes a very VERY long swig. With wine dribbling down her chin, she asks, “think you have room in that big ole farmhouse for one more?”
It’s hard to hide the true disappointment in your voice as you remind her that you’re having work done on the house and that you were also looking for a place to stay. You also apologize for being unable to help your good friend when she really needs you.
“Oh yeah, I totally forgot you were getting some work done. That’s exciting, though. And you don’t need to apologize. I’m sure Elliot will let me crash, especially if I bring this wine with me.” She glances down at the half drunk bottle of wine. “Or maybe I’ll get him some of Gus’s crab cakes.”
You both let out a light laugh which helps ease your minds and you part ways to focus on your next steps. Plan A was a bust and it was your most solid plan, making you a bit nervous. You remind yourself that you have contingency plans for this very reason. You take a deep breath to rally yourself as you begin walking to Sam’s house.
*****
“Oh shit, that sucks,” Sam says after you explain your situation to him. You even add Leah’s predicament to your story to show how your options are running out. He listens intently but sometimes you swear it’s going in one ear and out the other.
“So anyway, that’s why I was hoping I could crash with you? I know you’d need to ask your mom and I’m totally fine sleeping on the couch.” You try to plead your case as convincingly as possible.
“I’m really sorry, Y/n, but I can’t. My little brother got some virus or something and now it’s spread to my mom, so the whole house is in quarantine.”
Fuck. Fuck. FUCK!!!
“I bet Abby or Seb could help you out though,” he suggests with that sweet grin of his. He’s always so sweet and willing to help but hearing Sebastian’s name sends a cool chill down your spine. Damn, it’s impossible to be mad at Sam with his puppy dog expression and sweet sincerity. He’s always been so warm and kind to you, even when you were the new girl in town.
“Yeah, I’ll probably ask Abby next. Thanks, Sam.”
As you turn to leave, Sam calls out to you, “I bet Seb would prefer you ask him!” It’s an innocent tease, but you feel your cheeks burn bright red as you try to laugh along with him at his little “joke”. You bury your rosy cheeks in your jacket as you book it to Abigail’s place.
You’ve returned to your normal pigment by the time you reach Pierre’s store. You head to the far door near the counter, giving Pierre a brief wave as he finishes up with a customer, but before you reach the door, Pierre calls for your attention.
“If you’re going to see Abigail, I’m going to politely ask you to refrain.” He hands the customer their receipt and waits for them to gain some distance before continuing. “She’s grounded for the next two weeks.”
Uhhh isn’t she a grown woman? You keep your thoughts to yourself, as you watch your last chance at a place to stay (that’s free of Sebastian) evaporate before your eyes. You’re desperate at this point so you try one last ditch effort.
“Oh gosh, I had no idea,” you respond, really laying on the charm. “It’s especially bad timing cause I really needed a place to stay this Thursday.” You go on to explain the construction, and the following series of unfortunate events, hoping to earn sympathy points, and persuade him to make an exception. “So that’s why I’m urgently searching. I promise I won’t be a nuisance and I could stay on the couch rather than Abby’s room.” Your desperation is becoming evident and you rapidly search your thoughts for more convincing ideas. “And I’ll promise not to talk to Abby while I’m here… and…”,you trail off trying to think of a better argument, but Pierre stops you.
“I’m sorry, Y/n. I really wish I could help you but this just isn’t a good time.”
Fucking dick. If he did actually want to help you, he’d agree to let you stay.
“I understand,” you say with a tinge of bitterness. “Oh, I used that wonderful deluxe fertilizer you suggested. It worked wonders on my yams! I might stock up for the rest of my crops too…”
Pierre narrowed his eyes at you and your blatant attempt at bribery. He paused for a moment and you felt a tiny glimmer of hope that he was actually considering your offer.
“The answer is no, Y/n. I hope to see you back another day for that fertilizer.” That was definitely his way of asking you to leave. You give a polite nod in acknowledgment and leave the shop.
How? How is all this happening now?! Why does it feel like the universe is working against you?!
As these questions rage in your mind you turn the corner of the building, hoping to get some explanation. You swiftly approach Abby’s window and give it a few stern taps. You can hear shuffling from the other side and it takes a sec for Abby to come open the window.
“Hey what’s up?” Her tone is clearly irritated though you know that irritation isn’t directed at you. The fact that you came to her window leads her to conclude that you are already aware of her circumstance.
“Why’s your dad pissed? I mean I know he’s pissed a lot but this seems pretty extreme,” you ask, matching her same annoyance in solidarity.
Abby rolls her eyes and explains, “he found my weed stash. I have no idea how he even found it or why he looked through my stuff.” You did find this strange cause you knew where Abby hid her weed and you thought it was a damn good spot, too. She kept it taped to the backside of her nightstand drawer, so you’d have to pull the drawer completely out the the stand in order to get it. “Maybe he saw me pull it out or something?” She tried to rationalize before continuing, “But he obviously knew something since he knew exactly where to look.” It’s clear she’s suspicious that someone ratted her out to Pierre but only you, Sam and Sebastian knew where she kept it.
A lightbulb goes off in your head, and all the color drains from your face. Abby takes notice of your shift in demeanor.
“What? Do you know something?” She presses forward on the window pane urging you to share what you know. But you don’t have any proof, and she’s known Sebastian way longer than you, so why should she believe you? It would also make you look very suspicious, too, if you were to suggest him as the culprit.
“I’m just worried it’s… my fault because of… that time I left my lighter in your room! Like, what if he saw it and was like ‘why on earth is there a lighter in Abby’s room?!’ and then decided to search around?” You can feel your stomach in knots as you wait for Abby’s response.
At first she’s a little puzzled by your admission, but then she gives a soft, reassuring smile. “I seriously doubt that’s what tipped him off but it’s kinda cute that you feel that kind of guilt. Especially for something unintentional.”
You let out a sigh of relief and decide to explain your original intention for swinging by. You can’t help but think that this also gives you a stronger alibi of not being the one who snitched.
“Damn, that is hella unlucky,” she says. “But I’m sure Seb can help you out. He hardly leaves the house anyway so there’s no way he’s got plans or anything. Though, I can’t blame you for trying to find somewhere else instead.” Your ears perk up at this comment.
Has she seen the stuff he does? Has he done it to her? Are you finally not alone in this and someone else knows how fucking batshit crazy this all is?!
“Oh, yeah,” you say, trying to play it cool but wanting her to elaborate. “What makes you say that?”
“Oh, you know…. cause boys are so gross.” You feel your heart sink into the deepest pit of your stomach. You give an agreeing smile and nod, holding in the fact that you just want to scream. Abby continues. “I mean, can you imagine what Sam and Seb’s rooms would look like if you held up a black light. Ugh, it grosses me out just thinking about it.”
Again, you agree with her and accept your defeat. You trudge your way back to the main road and you head back to your farm with your head hung low. It’s a chilly evening and Robin is still working when you return, so you approach her and let her know that you’d like to take her up on her offer. She seems so pleased to hear you accept her invitation and begs you to join them for dinner that night, as well. Being the people-pleaser you are, you reluctantly agree and head inside. The dread of Thursday is already setting in, no matter how hard you try to push that feeling away.
You plop down on the couch, worn out from physical and emotional exhaustion. You get a text notification on your phone and as you go check it, expecting it to be Leah with a termite update, your breath catches in your throat.
Sebastian:
Glad you came to your senses and accepted the invite. Such a good girl
It feels as if your heart could pound right out your chest as you read and reread his text. You have so many questions and are completely terrified at this point.
Do I… should I… respond?
You shakily type your reply.
Y/n:
Why are you doing this? How did you do all this???
He responds mere seconds later, though it feels like an eternity of watching those three little dots appear, disappear and reappear over and over.
Sebastian:
So impatient. I’ve got to hold onto some of my secrets, you know? Be a good girl, and wait just a bit longer. I’ll be sure to reward my princess for her obedience
A second text soon follows.
Sebastian:
Also, I’m sure this goes without saying, but let’s keep this between us. No need for anyone to know our little secret, right? You’re such a good, obedient girl. However, if you do go and tell anyone else, that would make you a very bad girl, and I would be forced to punish you
You drop your phone beside you and lay there on the couch, staring at the ceiling. You’ve grown tired of trying to out maneuver Sebastian and his sick games, leaving you begrudgingly accept your fate. You lay on the couch for hours, unable to bring yourself to move, until you eventually fall into a restless sleep.

Youtube fed you that swill and you actually watched it? And then you read the comments?? That's why the algorithm is like this. Feeding people hateful garbage makes them stick around.
Log out (If you very much like features that are only available logged in, just make a second google account to use for youtube and nothing else)
Download Firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/windows/
Go into the privacy settings and set Enhanced Tracking Protection to "strict"
Install an adblocker, I like ublock origin https://ublockorigin.com/
Optionally, install some more anti-track addons, like Privacy Badger or Duckduckgo's privacy essentials
Install the container addon and set one up to qurantine youtube away from everything else https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account-containers/
Now what you have is a box that has youtube in it and literally nothing else. No ads, no personal information, no creepy stalkerware, no ability for other websites to see in the box, or for youtube to see out of it.
And now the fun part. Use the adblocker to nuke the entire sidebar and endcard overlays. Just select these with the eyedropper from the adblock extension, preview it to make sure you're not blocking more than you mean to, and bam, it's like three clicks and and you'll never see it again, it's beautiful.
Do this and you can watch all the videos you please and will NEVER have the algorithm shove some misogynistic garbage in your face because it crunched some math and knows that users with your profile are stasticsally likely to spend time on the side when served that sort of trash.
You can also use the adblocker to get rid of the entire comments section, or to nuke any design element or feature that you find annoying or ugly. It's called an adblocker, but it blocks anything based on URLs and HTML strings. The posibilites are endless, freeing, and beautiful. I use adblockers for aesthetics and accesibility at least as much as for actual ads.
I do this with every website I use regularily, including tumblr (though only the worst few [including youtube] have dedicated quarantine containers). It's a few steps to set up, but once you have the extensions installed and know how to use them, nuking algorithmic feeds and making sure that you only see what you actually want to see takes like ten seconds.
And no, before you say you have to use the app, this does work on mobile. Download Firefox for mobile, install the adblocker, install the anti-trackers, and use youtube in the browser instead of the app because taking an extra three seconds to load and having a slightly less optimized layout is worth not being unundated with advertisements and hate.
You can also root your phone and install adblockers that work with apps, but that's a more involved process and takes more effort and knowledge than simply installing a new browser and using an eyedropper tool to select a sidebar.

I was wondering what you would consider the best place to write is when you're drafting games? I've been using Scrivener myself to keep it all in one place but I'm not sure if that's the optimal way of working especially when there's multiple branches becoming involved. This will be my first cyoa game after primarily writing novels for years. Is there any advice you can give?
I recommend at minimum using a text-editing program that labels line numbers and makes it clear what your tabs are doing. It's extra helpful to use ones with ChoiceScript highlighters. A couple of examples are:
Notepad++ with ChoiceScript highlighters
Sublime Text with ChoiceScript highlighters
I used to use Sublime Text, but I now use Visual Studio Code with Stephen Granade's ChoiceScript plugin. This acts as a highlighter but can also highlight coding errors as well as automatically test the game within the VS Code window. The coding-error highlights have saved me SO much time:
VS Code ChoiceScript extension
You can also use CSIDE which is a very popular tool that can be used in your browser if you have DropBox, or downloaded and used on your machine. It isn't fully up-to-date with the ChoiceScript code currently, but a ton of people use it and find it useful.
Thank you for the ask! There are lots of people on the Choice of Games forum who can help out with any issues you have so do jump in, enjoy your writing, and good luck!

Azel Radwan: Romantic Ending Ch. 24 Premium Story
Chapter 24
Thank you @shatcey for providing the video for this chapter!

Tumblr media
The God of Tanzanite is the incarnation of the moon—that glorious moon was dyed red, heralding the end.
The people rejected the end of the long dream that had lasted for a thousand years, but in front of the God's remains, everyone had no choice but to accept it.
Akatsuki: Come to think of it, there were signs.
Some time has passed since then—Tanzanite, having finished the God's funeral rites, was in mourning throughout the land.
We, as foreigners, were also caught up in the turmoil, and until now, we haven't even been able to calmly talk things over.
Akatsuki: I started receiving requests from the God a few years ago, but most of them were just materials related to astronomy.
Akatsuki: He was collecting literature about the sky regardless of the era... He was probably estimating the date and time of the lunar eclipse.
Akatsuki: The phenomenon of the moon disappearing is by no means rare.
Akatsuki: But it's difficult with current civilization to accurately predict its cycle down to the second.
Akatsuki: Moreover, a perfect lunar eclipse like that doesn't happen very often.
Akatsuki: He meticulously calculated and determined the optimal day for his "death." He's truly a genius.
Akatsuki: ...He's something else.
The owner, sitting cross-legged on the floor, poured Tanzanite's local alcohol into a cup and drank it all in one gulp.
Opposite him, Clavis looked up at the moon floating in the sky, and Luke languidly swirled his alcohol.
Luke: What do you think will happen now?
Clavis: Of course, things will change. Divination is no longer a guaranteed reality.
Clavis: With the God's death as a catalyst, people need to find a way to live without relying on divination.
Clavis: But what's still a mystery is... why did divination suddenly become inaccurate?
Kamal: Ah, about that, there's something called the Stargazer's Disk.
Kamal and Silvio were sitting on a chaise longue by the window.
Had the enchanting beauty given up hiding his true identity, or was there no longer a need to?
He spoke fluently, no longer concealing his low voice.
Kamal: The Living Gods of Tanzanite have each engraved their own star on that disk throughout generations.
Kamal: It sounds mystical when you put it like that, but the actual divination is much simpler.
Kamal: It's nothing more than statistics recording the psychological tendencies of humans.
Kamal: The Stargazer's Disk is an auxiliary tool for accurately diagnosing people's personalities.
Kamal: For example, let's say Prince Silvio has an arrogant personality. Arrogant people have tendencies, right?
Silvio: Hey, don't casually insult me.
Kamal: Now, now. The Stargazer's Disk can determine a person's tendencies through a few questions, but...
Kamal: If the disk itself is wrong and diagnoses an arrogant person as humble, then the results based on that will also be false.
Silvio: So that greedy bastard tampered with the Stargazer's Disk?
Kamal: That's right. He overwrote and ruined everything that past Living Gods had built up.
Kamal: We've mostly finished collecting the correct Stargazer's Disks. The divination up until now is no longer reliable.
Clavis: Haha, to think that the truth of divination wasn't mystical, but based on an advanced field of psychology.
Kamal: Our gods are truly amazing. Including Azel, they all had exceptional minds.
Silvio: ...No one would think that such an amazing God would actually die.
The word "death" brought a momentary silence to the memorial sake gathering.
Clavis: He didn't just die. The fact that he took his own life with an obsidian weapon is quite cunning.
Luke: What do you mean?
Clavis: As you know, Luke, Tanzanite has a triple alliance, right?
Clavis: Regardless of the circumstances, if God was killed by obsidian...
Clavis: Acroite and Ruby have practically been given a ticket to pick a fight with his country.
Akatsuki: Ruby is in no position to do so.
Clavis: Ah. But for Acroite, it's highly likely to become a card they can use in the future.
Silvio: So, takin' this incident as an opportunity, they've obtained a legitimate reason to attack Obsidian?
Clavis: However, it's not certain whether that was part of the triple alliance's deal.
The conversation came to a pause, and silence fell again.
I had been listening to the conversation, but perhaps my heart was numb, as no words came to mind.
I looked down at the alcohol in my hand, not drinking, just staring blankly at it.
The face reflected on the surface was terribly haggard.
I thought about it absentmindedly, as if it were someone else's business, and when I looked up, I realized everyone's eyes were on me.
Emma: ...Ah, I'm sorry. Did I miss something?
Clavis: That's not the case, but...
Silvio: Hey, your drink hasn't gone down at all. Why don't ya get some of that Delightful Bastard's kiddie juice?
Clavis: Haha, what are you saying? I'm drinking an adult juice.
Silvio: If it's juice, you're a kid.
Luke: I can walk you to your room. Don't push yourself.
Emma: I'm not pushing myself. Thank you.
(If possible, I want to stay in a lively place.)
(Because if I'm alone, I'll keep thinking about all sorts of things.)
*flashback*
Pushing through the crowd, I was the first to step into the pool of blood.
I was prepared for "death" to come, but I didn't know it would be such a vivid death...
My memories are hazy from the point where I was shaken by the shoulder by a familiar doctor.
*flashback over*
Kamal: ...I'm sorry.
Kamal sat down next to me and put a hand on my back.
Kamal: That child is undeniably a genius, but he's always been clumsy with interacting with people.
Kamal: As a God, he doesn't have enough experience to understand human subtleties...
Kamal: He truly didn't anticipate that you would be this hurt.
He gently patted my back, and the gesture reminded me of that night.
Kamal: Initially, he kept you around as insurance in case Rhodolite was involved in Obsidian's conspiracy.
Kamal: Obsidian has been smuggling weapons for a long time, trying to destroy our country from within.
Kamal: Rhodolite is connected to Obsidian...
Kamal: To prevent them from interfering with the plan, it was necessary to keep them in check.
Clavis: A sad misunderstanding.
Kamal: But I think his declaration of infatuation was really just a whim, or something that happened along the way.
Kamal: I don't think he was thinking anything more than "I found a good target, so let's use her."
Luke: If he were alive, I'd punch him.
Kamal: That's why... I was also surprised when I learned that he had placed you in the solitary castle.
Kamal: He must have learned about the beauty of "Belle's" heart and couldn't leave you alone.
Silvio: ...Wouldn't the woman have been less hurt if he had just left her alone?
Silvio: It's not sane for a man determined to die to keep a woman by his side.
Kamal: Didn't I just say? Gods lack experience.
Kamal: He wasn't thinking about being liked by you as a person, Miss Emma.
(...You cowardly God.)
(Even though you did nothing but make me like you.)
Akatsuki: "I didn't know" isn't an excuse.
Akatsuki: This is a matter of compensation.
Emma: Indeed... you're absolutely right.
Emma: I feel like slapping him with an invoice with a lot of zeros.
I laughed to dispel the melancholic atmosphere, not wanting them to worry about me any longer.
Emma: I'll... have some alcohol.
I brought the cup to my lips and poured it down my throat in one gulp.
Silvio: Hey, if you drink like that...
Clavis: Will another drunkard be born? Will it happen?
Luke: Don't act so cheerful. Bring me some water.
(...My throat is burning.)
(Is it because this alcohol is what Kamal brought?)
(It's the same alcohol as that day.)
*flashback*
Azel: Can you hold your liquor?
—The last night I spent with Prince Azel.
Perhaps he couldn't bear to see me still wide awake, so Prince Azel got out of bed and took a bottle of alcohol from the shelf.
Emma: I can drink, but… Prince Azel, you indulge in alcohol?
Azel: I don't usually drink.
Emma: But there's alcohol in your room…
Azel: Kamal just occasionally holds one-man drinking parties here. He's an excessive drunkard.
Prince Azel left the room and returned with two alcohol cups.
He roughly pushed aside the book that was on the table and filled the empty cups to the brim with alcohol.
Emma: Why do you feel like drinking now, even though you don't usually?
Azel: …Kamal falls asleep when he drinks. It's like a sleeping pill for some people, right?
(In other words, this alcohol is also mercy.)
(…If I say that, he'll definitely say something like, "I'm just making you drink because you're noisy.")
Azel: Here.
Emma: Thank you.
As I received the alcohol cup, my body swayed slightly from Prince Azel sitting down on the bed.
(I hope I don't get strangely drunk like before.)
I brought the cup to my lips as if in prayer.
It was a unique alcohol, sweet yet burning hot as it went down my throat.
Azel: ………… That's too strong, isn't it?
Prince Azel, after taking a sip of the alcohol, also made a grimace at its intensity.
Emma: Are you a lightweight?
Azel: I don't know. I've never drunk enough to know if I'm strong or weak with alcohol.
Emma: Then I'd like to see you drunk, Prince Azel.
Azel: What on earth are you expecting?
Exasperated, Prince Azel gestured to the space beside him.
Feeling invited, I sat beside him, our shoulders touching. Even though he wasn't doing anything, I felt strangely nervous.
Azel: More importantly, you were in the middle of your story, weren't you?
Emma: That's right. I think I talked about my life up until I became Belle.
(Prince Azel, who asked me to "tell me about yourself," is listening to my story more seriously than I expected.)
(As if he's interested in the way I, as a human, have lived...)
His mystical eyes caught mine, and I gulped down the alcohol as if to hide my nervousness.
Emma: There was a Founding Festival in Rhodolite, and there—...
-
Emma: ––...and that's how I ended up deciding to travel the continent as a book merchant.
By the time I finished my story, half of the alcohol in the bottle was gone.
With my head feeling fuzzy, I savored the joy of having Prince Azel listen to my story.
He was a good listener, interjecting with appropriate responses at just the right moments.
Azel: Traveling, huh? Sounds fun.
Emma: ...Things weren't always fun in Tanzanite because of a certain greedy God.
Azel: That's the real thrill of traveling. There's no excitement in a journey without any mishaps.
Azel: You should be thanking me, actually.
Emma: ...Thank you?
Azel: Don't make it a question.
Prince Azel placed his hand on my head after setting his cup down on the table.
His fingertips felt warmer than usual.
Azel: Tanzanite is just a stopover point, not your final destination.
Azel: You'll encounter many things and many experiences will help you grow.
Azel: When that happens, there's no need to look back. Just keep walking forward.
Azel: Journeys are accompanied by encounters and farewells. Get used to it now.
Azel: These are valuable words of advice from God.
(And someday, this time I spent with Prince Azel will fade as a past event, becoming just another experience.)
(Will there come a time when I'll talk about this bittersweet memory with someone like this?)
I cast my eyes down, hiding my face with my hair.
The face reflected in the alcohol looked as if it was about to cry.
(No good, I can't get drunk at all today.)
As I repeatedly opened and closed my mouth, trying to say something…
The hand that was resting on my head pulled me closer, and a soft sensation fell on my temple.
(...Huh?)
At first, I didn't understand what it was, but as I blinked a few times at the closeness of his face, the same sensation was applied to my forehead.
The moment I understood, I felt like my face was on fire.
Emma: Wh...What are you doing!?
Azel: What, can't I kiss you?
Emma: Of course you can't!? And what kind of kiss is that anyway?
Azel: It's a divine blessing.
Azel: May your journey continue to be smooth sailing.
He even kissed my cheek, and my tears finally subsided.
(This is strange… definitely strange.)
(Sure, Prince Azel is a suggestive God, and there was that accident-like thing before, but...)
Emma: You seem really drunk even though you don't look it.
Azel: That's not true.
Even as he denied it, Prince Azel continued to give me light kisses, seemingly unaware of his own strange behavior.
(I see… he turns into a kiss demon when he's drunk.)
(...It's a blessing in disguise that he hasn't had a chance to drink until now...)
Emma: Prince Azel, I have some advice for you too.
Emma: ...It might be better if you don't drink alcohol in public.
Azel: I wouldn't drink even if you didn't tell me to. If I ever get drunk, it would be a disaster.
(So, is now special?)
(...Maybe this is a precious side of him that he only shows me.)
(...)
(I wonder if he'll forgive me, just this once.)
I placed the empty alcohol cup on the table and cupped Prince Azel's face, now a kiss demon, in my hand.
Azel: ...What?
Emma: I'll give you a blessing too.
Emma: May you achieve the results you desire, Prince Azel.
I pressed my lips against his forehead, which was creased in a frown, as payback.
Azel: You're not a God, are you?
Emma: Even humans can give blessings.
Azel: That's news to me.
Emma: You learn something new every day.
Azel: .....
(...He's hot. Maybe I'm more drunk than I realize.)
When I tried to pull my hand away and create some distance, he grabbed it as if to stop me.
He pulled me closer, our faces so close that our breaths mingled.
Azel: Then give me more.
Emma: I-I don't believe in bargain prices—mm!
He pecked my lips, and all the emotions in my head were blown away.
Our eyes met, and despite my intention to push him away, I accepted him again.
(He was the one who told me not to fall in love with him...)
The kiss, which had been just a touch, gradually deepened, as if he knew I wouldn't resist.
His tongue intertwined with mine with a rough urgency that stole my breath, making it so painful that tears welled up.
(It hurts...)
Even though it hurt, I wrapped my one arm around his back.
Even though I could have closed my mouth if I truly hated it, I didn't.
Instead, I felt the heat mindlessly as he greedily demanded more.
Azel: This wasn't how it was supposed to be... damn.
(...I'm the one who wants to curse.)
Contrary to his words, he slowly pushed me down onto the sheets, continuing to devour me under the pretense of a blessing.
As our eyes met, our lips touched, and our tongues intertwined, I experienced pleasure for the first time.
(And surely, this will be the last time.)
When I tentatively responded to his kiss, he reacted with momentary surprise.
But he didn't turn away as he usually did. Instead, he accepted me.
As I traced the thread connecting us, I touched Prince Azel's cheek.
Emma: ...Do you know?
Emma: Normal people don't kiss like this.
Azel: I know.
Azel: I just want to.
Emma: ...Y-You're a bad drunk.
Azel: I'm not drunk.
Emma: That's what all drunk people say.
Azel: ...Then I'm drunk.
Azel: Is this okay?
As if it wasn't enough, he attacked me again with a greedy kiss.
Whether intentional or unconscious, his large hand caressed my body, making my hips jump.
(Somehow... the more blessings we exchange, the stranger my body feels.)
(...It's like a curse.)
*flashback over*
Emma: ––...!
As if to blow away the memory of that last night, I poured more alcohol and swallowed it.
Kamal: My, my, my, you're a good drinker.
Emma: I can still drink more!
Clavis: Your Holiness, shouldn't you stop her?
Akatsuki: I'm not her father.
Akatsuki: ...Let Emma do as she pleases.
Akatsuki: There are times... when people can't go on without drinking.
