Not in ZR, but why do you think the hate the sin love the sinner thing works? Society has progressed

It doesn’t matter how society has changed. It matters what the Bible says.

With studying the Bible, you HAVE to study the history and culture of the time to get a full and complete and rich understanding of it. That’s why God has lifted up pastors with high education (and other leaders who received instruction besides) to preach and teach the word. Their job is to help shed light on the context so we can gain a deeper understanding. But every single time in the Bible, it is VERY clear when something was a certain way due to the time period and that specific culture(like a lot of Mosaic law, or courting, or wearing head coverings) and when it is eternal and unchanging (most of the Bible).

So most of the time in most cases, if the Bible says it, the buck stops there. Because God is the ultimate authority in all things, and the Bible is a transcript of His direct wisdom and teaching, by telling us the story of Him and what He’s done for us. So the whole ‘society has progressed’ idea is Utterly Wrong.

Most importantly, there isn’t a single verse in the Bible that says ‘hate the sin love the sinner’. That has been made up by men. Never said in the Bible.

What the Bible does say is God hates sin. And as little Christs, we should hate sin too. Any and all sin, no matter what. And Jesus also clearly said that we are to love everyone, even and especially our enemies.

I guess saying ‘hate the sin love the sinner’ is a simple way to say that, however I am incredibly cautious about doing so. Because those were not the words that God used to describe it. It’s more complicated than that. So by treating it with a simple, snappy saying isn’t giving how we are called to treat our own sin, the sins of our brothers and sisters, and the sins of people who are still in the world, isn’t giving it the proper gravity it deserves. We need to think more critically about this and be more nuanced and careful with our speech- which is why I have no problem being long-winded in talking about things that deserve to be talked about in order to articulate everything correctly. More people should be too.

Plurality is so weird because half the time I don't even realize and just go "huh weird, suddenly I'm feeling a huge disconnect between current me and me from 2 days ago and my whole gender and identity have became something else and I feel a strong need to change what name I'm called and how I present myself almost like I became I whole new person within such a short time span. I wonder why that is. I must just be really fluid or was simply wrong about what I am the entire time before or something," and then five days later I go "huh weird, I have gone back to my previous state after this odd and peculiar phase so to speak and now I feel a strong disconnect from the me from five days ago like I just temporarily became a whole new person within such a short time span. I wonder why that is. Must have been just a phase, now I feel stupid for feeling that way so strongly then just changing my mind back," and despite having lived as a(n aware) plural system/collective/little kitty cat clowder for nearly a year now it still does not ever cross my mind that perhaps, maybe, just maybe, that was literally just a whole ass new guy that I split (as I do. Because I'm plural. Because that's what it does. Very often, mind you. Because I know that I'm plural and what being plural does) up until it's like, well after the fact. I was asked to make an age chart with all the kids and share ideas what they're all doing/ who they're affiliated with. This is for the Mini-Mingo and Grumpy Verse, where the order of kids is different than in the AU where Dragon and Crocodile did not raise Luffy.

The last three are born after the time skip so they're quite a bit younger than the others. (And as it's been asked; Luffy picked the name for Merry and it is a tribute for the Going Merry.)

This is all a work in progress and can be changed around if I or anyone else has better ideas for these Monkeys~ I'm not sure what Dulcinea and the twins will do X'D

(I included Laufey so I could have 9 pics to put up. Maybe she does exist in the Mini-Mingo and Grumpy Verse. The girl twin also borrows from my Kuja Crocodile design because that was Croc's backstory for the other AU.)

I love writing Origins bc I love Morrigan being snarky and tone-deaf and so so lonely and Alistair wallowing in grief and insecurity and also loneliness and Sten being simultaneously done with life and deeply depressed and Leliana trying to cheer everybody up and making them all out to be grand heroes of the realms so that maybe she can feel good about herself and Zevran deflecting with humor and flirting left and right while being corroded by guilt and grief and Wynne being so infuriatingly preachy but also genuinely very sweet, and Oghren drowning his sorrows in alcohol and becoming the most distasteful person known to man- elven- qunari- and dwarvenkind... And my Warden is standing in the middle, burdened with the mission to try and save Ferelden and possibly all of Thedas, having to reckon with the fact that their life as they knew it is over and that their time has been cut short, solving everybody's problems, experiencing the unique blend of social injustice proper to their heritage, AND. having to wrangle the above group of misfits.
