unfortunately almost all my favorite sapphic shows have been canceled especially the ones on netflix but i do still think theyre worth your time. but it might also kill you bc the story isnt finished. all these shows are also just amazing plots too. like i would love them just as much even if there wasnt wlw relationships.

the wilds. this is an AMAZING SHOW. its on amazon its about a staged plane crash where 8 girls are stuck on an island but they dont know that its all a fucked up social experiment. a lesbian relationship became established before it got canceled after s2.

cable girls. this is on netflix and it actually DIDNT GET CANCELED HALLELUJAH. its an amazing show but it actually doesnt really count as sapphic bc one of the characters in the wlw relationship ends up being trans. but its still a great queer love. this shows spanish and set in late 1920s madrid at a telephone company. its one of my favorite shows ever literally every season is better than the last plz watch it.

everything sucks. this is on netflix and it did get canceled but the lesbian relationship was mostly established before the end of the first season. its set in the 90s and its just a really cute show im mad it got canceled.

paper girls. this is on amazon and ngl this is one of the most painful sapphic show cancelations ive ever suffered through so if you dont wanna watch it just bc of that i dont blame you. its about these four young girls who accidentally time travel from the 80s to current day and meet their future selves. the gay girlies are heavily implied and foreshadowed but they dont get together before the end of the show :(

the last of us!!! not canceled its still going!! this show has an episode that shows a past sapphic relationship with the lesbian main character but the first season doesnt introduce a new relationship yet. the second season will tho. im sure youve heard about this or already watched it but its about a zombie-like pandemic from a deadly fungus and its total post apocalyptic. also AMAZING found family father/daughter trope. dare i say i actually think i like them more than el and hopper.

my favorite lesbian movie of all time is portrait of a lady on fire. its a french period piece and its just beautiful and THERE ARE LIKE ZERO MEN IN THE WHOLE MOVIE. i think the only line a man has is “bonjour” and thats it. MY KINDA MOVIE!!!!! INSTANT 5 STARS!!!!! i love this movie. the initial premise is that a woman needs to be painted but she cant know that shes being painted so the other woman has to just study her while hanging out and then paint her from memory. it ends up being much more than that but gaaahhh if you only watch one of these make it this movie.

another iconic sapphic movie is but im a cheerleader. way different tone much less dramatic and more comedy but still never gets old.

an amazing duo book series is criers war. i LOVE scifi and fantasy and this is my favorite sapphic scifi story ive ever read/watched. i want this to be a movie or show so bad. its about a world where some people are people and some are what they refer to as “automa” which are essentially cyborgs but they look just like humans. crier is an automa and the daughter of a king and ayla is a poor human and she has a vendetta against crier bc her father was responsible for her familys murder but crier doesnt know this! so then ayla gets the job as her maid for the goal of killing her basically but of course it gets super gay instead. its such an interesting take on the enemies to lovers trope bc its one sided, cryer has no idea ayla considers her her enemy. also neither of them are white i think crier is brown and ayla is black.

i don't remember where exactly i got the name daughters of eve from, but it was from i believe a non-canonical biblical source?? they're not *literally* daughters of the biblical eve, but as eve = sin in some interpretations, it makes sense w the vampires of vtm lore. but they are all full blood sisters from the same parents.

there's seven sisters total, one put into each clan (just the primary ones in bloodlines). they were all turned on the exact same night at the exact same time (7pm). the event was not planned by any one or group, and none of the sisters were in the same location. some people think their coming is a sign of gehenna and that they all share the same soul, but whether you believe that is up to you. all of them are very different personality wise, and all have various levels of relevancy/power/influence.

meta wise, they represent each of my bloodlines playthroughs, so right now i only have two written out evas and entigone.

evas is the gangrel also known as the ugly german bitch because shes not afraid to look like "trash" (being fat, as i know personally, was NOT in, in 2005, but she dresses as she wants anyways and uses the term ugly to show she doesn't care what others think, i for one think shes hot) she will beat you over the head for talking shit. but shes also in general mean. so that's the bitch part. she has no problem or grief killing people. shes gangrel but down with the brujah. doesn't mind doing tasks/quests just because it gives her something to do and someone to beat up, but she doesn't like to be pushed around like a pawn. shes her own person and fights for her own cause, no one else is on her side, and anyone close to her she sees as temporary (whether they will betray or end up dead). evas probably the most sane out of all of them, and is the eldest sister of seven. also shes bi if you're interested. her ending was the brujah one.

entigone is batshit obviously being malkavain, but moreso than the typical malk. she had ocd before turning, and becoming malkavian turned that shit 100x worse. its very hard for her to sort out whats true and whats not. she is incredibly off putting to be around. she will attack randomly if she feels threatened (even if the person said nothing to her) and because of this she has the most masquerade violations out of any daughter of eve. also loses control when feeding and sometimes drains them without meaning too. big lesbian and trusts women too much, but never trusts any men. her hair is naturally curly, and meant to have greasy roots and matted ends (i use gerard way, amy winehouse, and britney spears for hair reference). she cant take care of herself physically. unphased by violence (the lollipop piece was meant to have a layer covered in blood from one of evas' kills, hence the surprised but not horrified expression) but is terrified of losing anyone she loves (heather is NOT leaving that fucking apartment shes probably locked in a goddamn cupboard if were being honest.) and lives in constant delusions, not being able to tell whats true from the malkavian voices and her ocd, and the x% of the time the voices are right. i haven't finished her playthrough but she was "fooled"* by ming xiao and that's her ending.

her name comes from the ancient greek figure antigone, who was present in oedipus rex. i haven't really figured out if she'll have any true connection to her namesake, their stories don't really cross very much other than i can read antigone's with the Eye Of OCD (only fellow crazies will get me here lol)

*"fooled" bcuz i really disliked they made the kuei jin evil and sneaky, it just felt kinda racist (and i love xiao) butttt i also like the idea of entigone following her ocd compulsions leading to her death like tragedy and comedy, (also since i suffer with ocd irl, and doing compulsions often leads to opposite results its sort of a cautionary tale, again like a greek tragedy)

I am so happy you let me know this. When I was young I was SEARCHING more myself in older people and had very little chance to see women I could see myself being as an adult. I absolutly adored my mom and my big sister and a myriad of older girls in my life but none were quite what I thought I might look like as a grown up.

I am honored to be able to share snippets of my past and life now to be that light house so young lesbians and butches know they are just wonderful, normal and healthy as they are. They are not acting the wrong way or being too this or too that or "trying to look like a boy" or whatever the bullshit line of the day is.

Sometimes little girls are loud, have short hair, sit with their legs apart, don't wash their hands before eating a sandwhich and leave socks laying all over the house and yard. We should not carry the burden of society placing rules and roles on us at ever turn. But when we do get that piled on us, it is so important to know we have others around who have been there, dealt with the same old junk and can help lift some of that load by sharing stories and advice.

i watched the 2015 film "the danish girl" for my english class and i have to write an essay thats due eod tomorrow SO to get my juices a flowin i'm gonna review the movie here first. spoilers from here on out duh

So this movie was kind of 😐. i knew about lili elbe and gerda wegerner way before this movie , im not like a historian on them but i know that gerda supported lili in her transition and they were still very much together and in love up until the last years of lili's life in 1930 shortly after their marriage was dissolusioned since lilli transitioned and their marriage couldn't be recognized anymore. Also like gerda was a huuuugee woman lover she painted a lot of lesbian erotic art. i was actually really confused most of the film like "ok when is gerda going to start accepting lili and theyre going to be happy with eachother?" but i guess portraying gerda as anything but straight is too much somehow and she needs to rely on a man to help her process the horrible situation of her wife discovering who she is and medically + socially transitioning :(

obviously that was sarcasm , but that does happen in the film. Ok to be real, i will probably finish writing this post, draft a few pages of my essay and rewatch the film again in the morning because im having trouble processing this movie. its earnestly coming off as a nothing burger to me. i was keeping an open mind about how they portray lili's gender awakening and her subsequent female persona as a different person where lili can only be "einar" or "lili" depending on what she is physically presenting as, because this is set in the 1920s and obviously they do not have the same vocabulary and terms for things we do, hindsight is 20/20, that sort of thing. but like. i really expected them to steer away from that way of presenting things, because in the modern-day most (and yes. generalizing but thats how the cookie crumbles in analysis situations) transgender people view their agab self and their "transitioned" self as the same person, because. you really are the same person, you just look differently, a way that is more conjunct with your perception of your gender identity. so i was really expecting lili to start thinking of herself as both "lili" and "einar" or like explain to gerda that she is still the same person she knew, just different, in a way. but no, they keep going on with the "two identities" thing, and while that probably is the way that Real Life lili thought of herself, if the story is going to divert from reality then you can absolutely use fictionilization to your advantage to more clearly explain transgender identities to your cis audience .

one thing i did Not really like was the fact that lili's gender euphoria was always tied with her sexuality. and like. yeah gender ties with sexuality, duh, i would be a fool if i acted like they were seperate, but for lili biggest moments of gender euphoria are portrayed as sensual sexual pleasure. like when a naked gerda pulls off lili's male clothing to reveal a silky camisole underneath or when lili goes to a live peep show and mimics the girl inside, trying to learn to act feminine but stops when the girl sees her (as lili is presenting masculine and doesn't want to raise suspicion) but eventually she loses herself in the pleasure and continues to mimic the girl until she reaches down and remembers she has a penis instead of a vagina and its like... normally i would be cool with this kind of sexual portrayal if this movie was written or directed by a trans person or like 1:1 based off of a trans person's experience but this movie is Obviously made for cis people by cis people. and i would say that a LOT of cishet people, even those who are "allies", think that queer identities are inherently sexual. thats why they say that "children can't be in queer relationships" or that "all trans women / trans people are perverts" because they cant imagine divorcing queerness from sex. and just like the way that the movie refers to lili as having "two identities", this REALLY isnt helping cis audiences understand transppl better.

i think that this movie is helping american society step away from the bare minimum idea that trans ppl (but basically just trans women) are manipulating / abnormal and should only be used in media to point and laugh and say "EWWW the main character had sex with them that's disgusting!!" or "this Trans character is the Villain and they are SOOOO unhinged!" in horror and shit. but it isnt that good at representing like. nuance in gender identity or things like that .

So.. Honestly I wasn't even gonna make this post cause Hazbin criticism has overwhelmed me to the point I'm actually numb to it and can't find myself to care anymore and just pass it off as someone's hot take that I don't agree with but they do indeed have the right to say it so I just respect it and take my leave.

But the couple criticisms I cant wrap my head around, are the ones surrounding Vaggie.

So I wanna go through two of those criticisms and just give my two cents. While also trying to be as unbiased as possible.

Vaggie may be my favorite character but majority of what I'm saying will come from what I've seen from comics or the Pilot and kinda squash that in with my own opinion and theories aswell.

Starting off with Vaggie being a stereotype:

Yeah I gotta be honest I don't see it man. People say she's a stereotype for both lesbians and Latinas but I just don't see it. They say Lesbian stereotype because her name is "Vaggie" which sounds like Vagina (apparently💀) and Lesbians like...Vagi-.

and Angel Dust mentioned that and made a joke about it in the comics which brought even more attention and anger. Which I think it's just a misunderstanding but people being mad about it is valid.

But I think it's a misunderstanding because I don't think Vaggies name has anything to do with the fact that she's lesbian at all. Had it been so.. why would her name still be Vaggie since BEFORE she was confirmed Lesbian? Vaggie still had that name even in the comics where her and Angel Dust were still a couple and before she was written to have any involvement with Charlie at all as a couple, friend or even acquaintance.

Not too mention that, (And I think a lot of people either forgot this, didnt care to search it up or just did not know in general). But Vaggie is not her full name. Her full real first name is Vagatha. Which honestly doesn't even sound like vagina anymore. It's literally just Agatha, but with a "V" and Agatha is a real name that people have had before. And most likely still carries on somewhere in the world. In fact a very famous writer is called Agatha Christie. I think Vivzie got inspiration for Vagatha off of her or Agatha Harkness, the witch from the Marvel comics. Agatha also means "Good women" in Greek so I mean there's that aswell cause as we've seen, out of the whole cast, except for Charlie of course, Vaggie is definitely the more down to earth demon.

who knows man. But yeah I really doubt she just got the name just off of the simple concept of Vaggie being a Lesbian. My theory is that something happened in her family or her past in general where they cut her name down to Vaggie instead of her full name. But that's just my theory.

Anyways time for the Latina stereotype claim:

Appearently people think Vaggie is this always angry edgy stereotype of a latina.

And to that I have to say....

1. Tells Charlie not to sing and she sings anyway.

2.Angel Dust fucking bails on them when they needed him most and leaves them to make a fool of themselves on the news.

3. The entire news audience literally makes fun of the person she loves (that' being Charlie) and her idea and one of them literally throws hands with Charlie.

4. She has a whole limo ride back to the hotel with Angel Dust who doesn't even give one damn that he did wrong on his word to be there in Support of the hotel.

5. ALASTOR

6. There Being a literal bar In a place where sins are discouraged and Charlie and Vagatha most likely are trying to help people sober up if they had any drug addictions. Which I'M PRETTY FUCKING SURE THEY DO.

(Btw I love Alastor. He's a great character, and an asexual icon such as myself😌. But I gotta admit, it's funny this man literally mistreated Vaggie in majority of the scenes they shared and nobody said nor mentioned anything about it, but some people were so quick to call Vaggie a toxic partner when she pushed Charlie's face away in the comics because of... Oh.. Idk... PERSONAL SPACE BRUH! You know even couples are entitled to their privacy. That shouldn't come as a shock but....I guess it does. )

I mean do I really have to explain why Vaggie being a stereotype of an edgy angry Latina just doesn't fit? I would hope not but screw it.

Well first because Vaggie is Salvadoran which actually makes her Hispanic, not Latina. 💀 I Mean Hispanic stereotypes do exist don't get me wrong but I still just don't see it fit in this case.

It doesn't fit because Vaggie is reasonably understandably angry in every scene. Literally every scene! When she's angry you can clearly see the way she's being treated aswell in that scene and it's always like shit!

I think its the tone of these scenes that make people just kind of skip over them, cause they were played out so well into this looney toon slapstick type character comedy to disguise the abuse and absolute mistreatment of Vaggie towards majority of her pilot screentime.

However I will admit that Vaggie does indeed have anger issues that she needs to work on. That most likely being one of her main character flaws that we might see more of and explore more in the actual show. But it absolutely had nothing to do with her race, nationality or anything close to that manner. And as a Hispanic myself, I just gotta say. I'm so tired of being put in this box and the characters I relate and can see myself in being put into a box where you can't fall out of line from your race like you're not your own fucking person. It's just so... Meh and controling. 😒

I remember when people called speedy Gonzales a stereotype and they tried to get rid of him in the looney tune shows and Hispanics were Not having ANY OF IT! It was so funny to see🤣 they fucking fought for that fucking mouse and I was right there with them man. Fuck you. Speedy Gonzales is the shit and you will not take him from us. ✊🏼

Like yeah Vaggie had a stick up her ass but literally anyone would if you had to go through half the shit she went through.

And she didnt even have that stick up her ass in the beginning of the pilot either. She was actually sort of calm and collected and was just focused on helping Charlie at the news station. I mean yeah she was a bit worried but not FOAMING AT THE MOUTH WITH ANGER or edgy in the slightest.

Anyway when it comes down to it. Vaggie is the most misunderstood character in Hazbin Hotel in my opinion and I think that has to do with people's lack of interest in her and some people's huge bias hatred towards Vivzie and her work.

Either way I just want to make it perfectly clear👌

that I'm not here to tear you a new ass over your opinion. I was just giving mine with points and facts to follow it up. That's all.

Whether you continue to hate Vivizies work and believe Vaggie is a stereotype is in your own lane to do so.

Im trying so hard to find the post that single-handedly years back made me finally realize I was trans. I cant seem to find it but maybe some day.

For all my years even when I was 5, id fantasize about being a boy. My teddy bear, named Beary who I called a girl, i suddenly began calling him a boy, and when my family began to asked I said

"Well, he use to be a she, but he told me that inside he was always a boy all along, so im calling him a he..!" Followed up by "But he still wants his dress. He likes his dress."

I drew art of me being a boy, storys where my self insert was a boy- one of them being a Sandman pirate captain who was just me saying "I was born a girl, but when I died,, I was magically turned into a boy!".

I somtimes would dress up to fool people into thinking I was a boy to see if id pass as one confidently. When younger kids would ask if i was a boy, id act offended and then secretly be in wonder and excitement for being mistaken for a boy. Id spend my nights paying to God for him to turn me into a boy. Just one thing for me. To be the boy I always dreamed I would be, but everyday, I woke up. With no boy to be found and only myself in the same body.

And this was all before I knew what transgender was.

Even after of learning of Transgender, for some reason i still didnt seem to click that I was quite definitely trans. I was a huge ally for them and close in the lgbtq+ community as a Lesbian.

But, I was so unhappy being a girl, something felt wrong no matter how much people tried to express i was just a tomboy. Being told even that "I should be a pretty tomboy for the boys" which looking back was fucked up. I felt stuck. So unwelcomed in my own body because no amount of fantasy elf/fairy magic that i longed for was ever going to come true. It felt as hopeless as my dream to fly and sprout wings. Just another make believe senario.

But one day, it clicked. I came across a post on my tumblr dash that said somthing that nothing all the other posts about transgender awareness and positivity i saw on a daily basis said before. I cant remember it exactly, but it was somthing along the lines of saying how you can just...be trans. You really can. Saying this-

"A symptom of being a boy is wanting to be a boy"

That was the moment it clicked. The moment I realized somthing. I *was* trans. I *was* a boy. That me being feminine and soft, my love of pink and everyone in my life's need to push being a woman on me didn't matter. That I wanted to be a boy, which was exactly what made me one. And to this day since that one moment, I look back and I realized my prayers really were answered.

thank you. i would say its less of a reading and more me and my friend bullshitting but i am genuine in my intent with it. i do think edmont being a closeted gay man who thinks hes too old for that while being tortured about what that means for his relationship with the countess (amicable but i think hes aware he doesnt love her) and haurchefants mother (loved her and therefore confused) and when he sees haurchefant very obviously stewing some.... homosexual thoughts inside his head as a young lad who doesnt know that concept.... it scares him and also makes him jealous because his son may get the chance to be who he is while he thinks he cant because hes too old. but he hates that jealously. while on the other end of the stick is haurchefant noticing Something about his father while hes also trying to understand something inside of him and he cant put his finger on it but he thinks...... they may be the same, in some way..... but edmont keeps holding at a distance in fear of recognizing what this is inside of him. so its one really fraught relationship where edmont cares about his bastard son but hes a little scared about the aspect that they both may be gay and what that means that the wedge is driven a little too much between them and it follows well into their adulthood when haurchefant has accepted he likes everyone while the count is still just a poor old fool in the manor. i mostly enjoy this combined with one of my wol (ruyan of azim's) lore because ruyan has areally tumultous relationship with the concept of family and i think when she marries haurchefantr

shes 41 years old, in perimenopause, she/her, agender butch lesbian.

shes the daughter of a minor nobleman, and her father was gay as well but hide it well into his 50s and took a wife and had a child (her). the mother died in childbirth and Nighthawk was born with a cognitive disability, and left to be raised by her father and the maids in the house.

She disliked the aspect of becoming the countess of her house, and despised things like dresses and tea parties. she'd often hang out with the Brume children after sneaking out of her window, and always hung around the boys, where they'd whistle at the girls and talk about their future wives. Nighthawk felt good amongst the boys, and even when some of them teased her that shes a girl so she CANT be a 'husband' she would declare that she would absolutely become a husband one day and change the rules.

One day she caught her father in the Brume, after she snuck out a window to meet with a girl, and saw him with another man holding each other and happily talking and kissing. She was caught watching, and absolutely mortified she was locked away into her room and her windows were bolted so that she could no longer escape. Her father then double downed on her studying and prepping her to become the countess, while she constantly tried to get him to tell her what he was doing in the Brume that night and who that man was, and how she's been having these strange feelings about other girls and she wants to TALK with him about it, but he flees and ignores her and continues to push her in her studies, seemingly to drown out that night from her mind and to ignore the bigger problem surfacing

the boys she met in the Brume often came to visit her and would slip her messages from beneath the slight opening in the bolted windows, and theyd talk to her through the glass and ask when shes coming out, which she said she doesnt know. one of the brume boys reveals that the other man she saw that night was his father, and that hes heard that nighthawk's dad hasnt come to visit him since. nighthawk asks him if he knows anything about it, and the boys says he and his father talk about it pretty often; his father really loves nighthawk's, and nighthawk's father loves him too, but they werent supposed to let anybody know, and that the boy went to his father about nighthawk saying she wants to be a husband one day and his father said that she was a very adventurous girl and that he (the boy) should follow in her steps. the two try to devise a way to get nighthawk's father to talk to the boy's father again, but after he finds out nighthawk has been ''digging into his personal life'' he in a fury kicks her out of his house and decries that if she wants to converse with the Brume people then she can go and become a Brume person

she refuses to talk about her life living in the Brume, and when asked about her father she details that he died just a few months after she turned 38, and the two never got closure. She still talks with the man her father was seeing though, and his son (her friend) grew up to get them out of the Brume into a comfortable living, but he says that his father has never dated anybody ever since nighthawk's father left him

all anybody knows is she somehow enlisted into the temple knights, and was eventually taken under the house fortemp banner and stationed out in camp dragonhead as a nightwatch. she got her name Nighthawk because of how she perched on the pillars and stone walls at night and swooped in easily to dispel threats, and she eventually took in on as her official name. the others of camp dragonhead and close friends call her Ladyhawk, and her lovers call her Ladybird.

She lived comfortably Butch since she was in her late 20s, and became well respected at the camp for her strong confidence and ability to help other recruits easily acclimate, especially other women. She rarely dated, and would often reject other women of the camp

she has an amicable friendship with haurchefant when he first gets stationed as the lord of the camp, and i think she can immediately sense that the two are the same from the moment this bright eyed young boy shows up. shes 41 by the time haurchefant is 28, and she had always acted as a strong armed confidant and mentor to him, and she helps him when he starts courting an au ra woman named ruyan of azim who passes by their camp one day

She still wonders to this day how her life mightve been different if she somehow got through to her father, and if her father ever knew what she truly was, and on certain days people can see in her eyes the deep sadness of never getting that closure with her father, but she uses this too as moment to pledge herself to the future, one where people wont feel the need to hide away like her father
