I could be silly, i could make him dream of himself as the beauty as opposed to being the beast, but im not 100% sure how i would go about writing that.... perhaps ill save that for the next time my slasher brainrot strikes me

i think he would love that you read for him, small little act that helps heal that inner child inside him + it reminds him of how his mom used to read to him at night. its almost bittersweet... im torn on whether or not pam would've read him beauty and the beast/similar adjacent tales. I admit, I'm not sure how many renditions of the story there are, and which ones were around when Jason was a kid but lets say, for convivence lets say she didnt

whenever you read to him hes hooked on every word you say, head in your lap and looking up at you with this sort of sparkle in his eye. loves it when you put on goofy voices for different characters. generally a very calm and peaceful moment between the two of you

so imagine offering to read the story to him, and he is just. totally immersed. even before he falls asleep he sees the parallels between the book and you, bonus if you somehow find a way to show him the disney movie of it

as for the dreams, naturally he's in the beasts position. solitary and secluded away from others, and self admittedly from the man himself, a sight for sore eyes (no matter how much some may disagree), and you as the beauty (not that much changes in the dream, he already sees you as something radiant)

the first time he has the dream he doesnt really say anything about it, actually he doesnt remember most of the dream thanks to him nearly forgetting everything that second he wakes up

but the dream keeps happening, even long after you first read the story to him, and each night he seems to be able to piece everything together

you wander into his home, and he keeps you. protects you, actually. the events of your arrival in the dream are blurred, but seem to line up with how you first entered his life.

hes not even a physical monster in his dreams.

but unlike the disney adaptation, when the whole... breaking the curse thing happens, there is no transformation. so hey, theres that at least

he eventually talks to you about it, sheepishly signing the details to you as he tries to not seem embarrassed about it. but he cant help but to get giddy when he sees your smile

"aww you dream about me?" is a comment sure to make his signing pause for a second before he covers his hands over his mask

-he always just assumed he was straight cause yk it’s the “default” and prior to Ness he was never attracted to guys/masc people (at least not that he realized), but after catching feelings for Ness and talking to Ness abt gender and sexuality and all that, he realized he wasn’t really ever attracted to women either, then Ness explained the whole AroAce thing to him and he was like “oh damn yeah ig so huh”

-was literally so confused when he first started liking Ness because 1: he found them VERY annoying at first and 2: again he’s never really fallen for anybody before this so he was like ???

-he never really comes out to anyone he just kinda does whatever and is either generally private/quiet abt it or just doesn’t say anything until someone asks

-trans man :)) maybe like a few years on T, binds and packs because let’s be real that man is not affording any sort of surgery, HRT alone idk how he’s managing. I imagine he probably came out/started transitioning in his late teens-early twenties and is pretty stealth (he’s in his mid-late twenties, so is Ness in my mind, just for the general record lol)

-kinda insecure abt his gender and sexuality. It’s a mix of internalized stuff, dysphoria, generally always having felt awkward when it comes to that stuff, etc. Ness is the only person he’s really talked openly abt it with

-Abby would’ve been fairly young when he came out, and their parents were already out of the picture, so she’s never really known any different, plus he doesn’t talk about it much so frankly she may not even know he’s trans. If/when she finds/found out, she’s probably very curious about it and then became a HUGE ally. Also definitely questioned some stuff (briefly and privately but I headcanon she may have come out as non-binary when she’s older)

-is one of those trans guys who’s like a bit paranoid abt misgendering just cause he’s so insecure abt it. He hasn’t been misgendered in YEARS but every now and then he’ll overhear people talking about literally anyone with she/her pronouns and he gets a little anxious abt it

-tries so hard not to be anywhere close to naked around anyone because he hasn’t gotten any surgeries. Wears a shirt to the pool (if he even goes in the first place), wears layers in the summer, anything sexual’s never been a problem cause he’s chronically bitchless, but you get the idea

-definitely binds an unhealthy amount (someone please stop him)

-uses masculine looking/smelling 2n1/3n1 cause it’s the “man soap” (yeah he’s one of those trans mascs /lh, Ness definitely helps him get into more of a proper hygiene routine)

You already know he loves a wild party, and that's what you're going to give to him

He's the type of guy who finds family for himself wherever he goes, and you want to make sure as many of them are there as possible for his big day

So several months in advance, you get a rumor going on Mazelinka's ship that Dr Devorak will be celebrating his birthday on March 12, and they pass that message along to every acquaintance they bump into

Considering that he's the person you're tying your life to, it's safe to assume that you understand the concept of "go big or go home"

You plan ahead of time to have access to one of the big, empty lots by the South End docks for the Vesuvian equivalent of a block party

You're a little worried about keeping it a surprise, because you know he'd never let you do so much for him if he knew

So you hide it in plain sight by telling him you're planning a big event with Nadia (which is true, she is helping) and he doesn't question you any further

Also because, as much as the two of you are working on his self-esteem, it's still low enough that he's not going to think any of it could be about him

So imagine his shock when, on a day he was so sure you didn't know about, you take him on an evening stroll down to the beach and throw him the party of his life

There's several ships he recognizes docked in the harbor, there's a roaring bonfire on the sand, there's trestle tables in a massive circle piled with treats, and there's the entire South End turned out to celebrate their favorite fugitive

Nadia is there with Nazali to celebrate their favorite student, Portia's ready to cry with delight, and even Asra's offering to dance with him to scatter any lingering bad feelings and reaffirm their bond

But most of all, he's enraptured by you, flitting between all of the people that make up his heart like you belong there and pulling every good thing he has to the surface where he can't deny them

The amount of noise you all make will leave your head ringing for days

He's having his plate piled with all his favorite foods, receiving more hugs than he knows what to do with and laughing until he cries

After everyone's eaten and had a few drinks, someone hands him a vielle and the music starts

It's like the masquerade all over again, but this isn't a feverish distraction from a living nightmare, it's the uproar of a battle worn family giving thanks for the life he's living with them

The next several hours are spent whirling around the fire, kicking up the sand and linking arms with every lovable hooligan Julian's ever met

Nadia and Portia also helped provide enough bedding for most of the guests to sleep there when they get too tired

The sweetest moment of that night comes as Julian lies awake on the sand, for once grateful for his insomnia because it lets him listen to the hundreds of breaths the people around him are drawing

And it lets him savor the way your danced out limbs are sprawled around him

1. my favorite fic of yours is probably phantasmagoria (with sanemi’s “bundle of joy” and rengoku’s “tell me to stop” being very close second and third places). i loved the complexity of the characters, the unreliable narration, how there was no “black and white” so to speak, everyone in the story in some way or another wasn’t completely good or completely horrible (except d*uma ofc), everyone fucked up somewhat along the way (some more than others lmao); however i am also super excited as well for the great war and vow between man and star, and ofc the completion of netherwood lolol, and have no doubt you’ll crush those fics too!!

3. best character you’ve written for: honestly, i’m just gonna straight up say i love how you write ALL your characters. however (and i’ve talked about this to you before) i have never loved how someone writes kyojuro more than how you write him. i am not the biggest kyo girlie (gasp i know) BUT the way you write him??? god i’d marry your version of kyo in an instant. you make him so much more than just the over-enthusiastic characteristics that he possesses, and i love that about your writing of him.

of course, i loveeee how you write sanemi and giyuu as well (your sanemi is what turned me from thinking “oh this guy is kinda cute” to being a victim of sanemi brainrot), and ofc your characterization of giyuu is so on-point and ugh (can you tell that i love your writing LOL)

Winx Club au(S1)

Alright! But hear me out!

Like I have the creative zoomies(again) and I brainroted this for DAYS! Like you have no idea how on point I nailed everything.

Except visuals... We are here for the plot... :'3

Anyway! I put the title! You know it: Winx Au!

Bc why not? Why tf shouldn't I smush together these 2 pieces of media that I like?

Anyway! We will have A LOT to cover... Because, much to the horror of moi, we will have 6 seasons. Like, if you know winx or were in the Fandom, you know the mixed opinions that started after season 3. It's just... A lot...

Even so, I enjoyed way too much the concepts and themes of the later seasons that I... Kinda forgot about plot? Shocking, I know...

Although season 7 was way too painful to watch and that's where I dropped everything and went my merry way. U-U9

Anyway! With that out of the way, we will dive into this Au, but first, some disclaimers:

I WILL go into more darker themes. Maybe Winx had a lighter tone, but it did go dark a few times. And I will go and shove it in even darker pits.

There will be swearing, much like violence... Because I need it for plot purposes.

This Au will start IN PARALLEL with Winx S1. So if you see mentions of og winx characters, locations or artefacts, you know why. I will also neglect season 7 and 8. Which means that for me, lore wise, will be irrelevant. I say this, because I will use lore aspects up until season 6, therefore it's just the bare necessities :3

At one point, the winx time-line and this au's time-line will meet up. So you should expect even a meeting in between the og winx and our group. :3c

Now, with that out of the way, we will go under ✨the cut✨ for it!

To start off: world lore.

Twisted wonderland was a planet full of magic. Unfortunately, due to political reasons, this planet didn't want to abide by the rest of Magix's quite tight rules and regulations, therefore it wasn't granted as many benefits as the other planets who agreed upon them. The primary reason was, of course: there has to be one singular royal family ruling over the whole planet. Twisted wonderland had multiple monarchies, democracies, republics and everything. And it was clear neither of them wanted to cojoin and be ruled by a single entity.

What was very special about twisted wonderland, was it's diversity in magic and how open it was. While it was very diverse, quite the array of categories of magic being able to be accessed, it was more or so notable that the common folk either didn't have magic affinities, or very weak magic, to the point they don't unlock even the base forms. Those people are called: stagnants, and could follow just primary magical courses at the very least.

Some notable institutes training people are:

NRC- an all boys school for fairies. Founded by the great 7, NRC is a 4 year boarding-school, whith a riguros training system. You can only boast about being in NRC after you passed in your 3rd year, because the exams are means of expulsion on their own.

RSA- the infamous specialists School. It trains magicless people into becoming knights and guards. It is quite renowned for it's 4 year training and great knights who could handle difficult situations.

NBC- the school of witches and wizards. Mostly known for it's long history and the very notable positive figures it housed. Despite training students into the dark arts, many came out to be protectors of their homelands or serving for good.

Now, for the first season:

We follow Jack. Jack was a Beastman, coming from a magicless family. His family had a very weak connection with magic since countless generations. But that didn't really stop Jack from living his life. He was a normal guy. That's all about him.

Alright, maybe not so normal, since he was close friends with the raising star in acting and modeling: Vil Schonenheit. Vil was known to be a fairy in training, just like his father, grandparents and so on. But Vil was also nice and always made time to go outside and hang out with Jack, so Jack really didn't think Vil was bad like the villain he was always portrayed in movies or plays.

But even so, Jack was never ready when he first discovered he could do magic. It was something more of a heat of the moment: his younger siblings were in danger, falling from a tree they climbed, so Jack, in a panic, summoned a layer of magic snow that cushioned their fall. It was clear he was the source, because it was the middle of the summer then.

With that, Jack really had his world rocked from it's feet. Vil just started his first year at NRC at that time, so he really wasn't sure if he should lay this news on his friend.

Nonetheless, Vil was excited when he heard the news. Jack was a terrible liar, so he figured he should fess up rather than hide it. Vil, obviously, was very happy and expected for his buddy to come to NRC with him. To assure he will get picked up, Vil would train Jack over the holidays, trying to get a grip on his powers before going into school.

Vil managed to get into his 3rd year when Jack finally got accepted and got in as a first year. Unfortunately for him, Vil did tell him that now that he was in his 3rd year, he would have to work even harder, so the best they could do is to text each other and maybe they could hang out sometime.

So Jack stepped in NRC, with a rough idea of how things work and clearly ready to learn more.

Vil told him about the sorting ceremony, so Jack really didn't expect to be so gloomy. When he thought about the fairies, he saw them so colorful and sparkly. Even so, someone did grab him, explaining that it's a metaphor for the butterflies process. They start as gloomy caterpillars before gaining their wings.

That someone was none other than a short boy with hair made out of blue flames. Jack was surprised of the hair, but the boy, named Ortho, was thrilled to meet another first year. He really hoped to be sorted for the Ignihyde courses. At that, Jack really didn't understand.

Ortho explains it to him: there are 7 courses, meant to train a future fairy in one of the 7 virtues the founders had. Each course has it's unique perks and special places on campus.

The 7 courses were:

The Heartslabyul course-focused mainly on a little bit of everything. It's a course that relies heavily on the rule abiding. A fairy must always aim to solve a problem without breaking rules or morals, which can affect their magic as well. Their special aera was the rose garden, where the students could relax or maditate. Jack noted that it would be a great course for him. He wanted to practice everything.

The Savanaclaw course- a course that relies mostly on limited use of magic. It trains fairies to be proficient even without magic, making it the best course in training great guards. They just never give up no matter what. Their perk was unlimited access to the sports grounds. Ortho said that even if he was energetic, he wouldn't stand a chance in there. He's a couch potato unfortunately. :'3

The Octavinelle course- they are courses mostly aimed at one's inner peace. Since the state of the mind also affects fairies, Octavinelle students are known to be always with their feet on the ground and able to deal very easy with spells that require a more deep understanding of oneself. Ortho wouldn't call it really a perk, but there is a cafe on campus that Octavinelle fully runs it. They also have an aera of the library allocated to them only.

The scarabia course- it's very popular for their focus on resources. These students are fairies who can easily use their environment to their advantage. Apparently their perk is access to a lot of supplementary courses outside. They could just crash in other course's expedition outside and be totally fine with it. Jack really didn't know what to say, but Ortho reassured that apparently the scarabia fairies are quite chill.

The poemfiore course- it's a course focused on antidotes and curses management. Their main perk is unlimited access to herbs and ingredients that are cultivated on the school grounds. Although they are also renowned for their impeccable looks and manners. Ortho did say that perhaps he could fit the bill for it, while Jack mentioned he had a friend in there.

The Ignihyde course- a course focused primarily on magic and technology. Since there is magic tech, the Ignihyde fairies can merge magic with tech flawlessly. There are many technological fairies in there, although there are also a few exceptions. Their perks aren't that known, but they have the underground workshops, where they can invent or tinker with whatever they please. Ortho said that his big brother is there, so he hopes to get also in there. Jack didn't really feel like he had a knack for tech, so he really didn't know what to say.

Then, the last one, Diasomnia- the practical magic course. Not only is the course where one of the most powerful fairies are coming, it is also a course with a lot of perks: status, more optional courses, meditation places and also a personal library section. It's the course that outshines everyone. Ortho did say that he hoped he wouldn't end up with a jerk from there in the dorm. Jack just awkwardly looks in the other part.

Ortho also mentioned that apparently the dorms are mixed. So there is a fair chance that even if they end up in different courses, they could still be roommates. Jack also hoped that, because ortho was literally the only 1st year he knew.

They do get sorted by the dark mirror. An odd name, but Jack didn't question it.

He ended up in Savanaclaw. And Ortho ended up in Ignihyde.

Jack was of course guided towards a senior: Ruggie. He presented himself as the prefect of the Savanaclaw course. A prefect, as Ruggie put it, was a student who excels in their courses while also embracing the virtues of the founder the course is based of. As a prefect, Ruggie had a job of overseeing the savanaclaw students. Mostly to guide the first years and nudge them into adapting. He also explained the school main rules to them, which Jack took a big note of:

-do not be off the campus after 22.

-do not smuggle in dangerous curses/artefacts.

-do not cross the restricted sections of the school.

3 big rules. Of course, there are the minor rules also, but these 3 are the ones that immediately get you expulsion.

Ruggie also gave to everyone, one by one, their programs and dorm keys. Thankfully Ruggie was the kind soul who smuggles in a map for the first years, so they won't get lost, then pushed them on their merry way to the dorms.

It took some mad orientation skills and also a small meeting with Vil, before Jack finally found his dorm.

And it was a mess.

The dorm itself was pretty big, considering it had 3 supposed bedrooms, all connected through a small lounge. It was very spacious. But it had things sprawled around, 2 guys arguing, one of them on the coffee table, and 2 literally throwing books and pillows at each other.

Oh and Ortho was there. He seemed to be texting someone when he saw Jack and happily approached him.

It took a bit to calm down and finally get around with intros and everything. There were 2 bedrooms, each with 2 beds and everyone was already pre-determined.

In the first room- Deuce Spade from Heartslabyul and Sebek Zigvolt from Diasomnia.

Second room- Jack and Ortho

Third room- Epel Felimer from poemfiore and Ace Trappola from Heartslabyul.

And for now, things seemed quite awkward, with everyone settling in at their own pace then sleeping.

The first few days were also awkward. Everyone had their own courses and still had to get to know each other, which was a bit hard. Still, for the sake of coherence, Jack tried his best to bring everyone together to bond.

Which leads them to a weekend hangout through the Sage city. Gradually, they had fun together, went to a cafe, arcade and walked through the streets, bonding. It seemed to do wonders as now they were all comfortable enough to crack jokes in between them.

But their fun moment is cut short when they happen to overhear a very sus conversation on an alleyway. Being the bastards they were, despite Jack, Deuce and Sebek being against it, the 6 of them decide to snoop a bit on the convo.

They overhear 2 people, cloaked from head to toe, talking about finding some sort of key. One of them seemed quite impatient as the other reassured that until they find the key, that a stone they showed should do the trick. Ortho recognised it as a black magic stone, which got the group to worry.

Sage Island was very known to heavily rely on fairy magic, also dubbed as white magic. Black magic is used sometimes in here, but if it's used to affect the land, the island itself won't stand, since it's core is made out of fairy magic. At least that's what Epel explained to the group in whispers.

Their little cover is blown anytway, because they couldn't be discret to save their lives, so due to this, the 2 people summon a monster made out of trash, meant to dispose of them, while they fleed.

And rightfully, being the fledgling fairies they were, this group was absolute shit at it. Everyone tries to be leader and everyone is crashing one against each other. It doesn't help that only 4 out of 6 could actually transform. (Jack and Ace) which left 2 more vulnerable.

In the end, Jack comes up with a plan to defeat the monster and actually rolling with it, assuring them as the winners of the fight, while the monster returned to trash piles. But they made a mess out of it, so now they hurried back to NRC to just get a shower and talk about it, since maybe they were tired, but sleep was the last thing on their worry list.

Except that they get caught up by Ruggie. They came in late, but seeing how they were looking like shit, Ruggie decides to close an eye for the meantime, with the promise of not happening again. They didn't go that much over the curfew, so he could just assume they got lost on their way back.

At their dorm, the 6 of them gathered together after cleaning up and getting some comfy pijamas and decided to discuss about it.

Epel says that he is the fairy of earth, hence why he felt a slight disturbtion in the earth magic from here when the monster was summoned. That monster clearly wasn't a being with life and mind of it's own as Ortho put it, but their next dilema was: What was the deal with those 2 people?

Ace suggests that maybe they should leave it and mind their own business. Deuce said that he is worried about the monster returning, or even worse, more of them coming. Sebek was wondering what kind of key were those people looking for. Epel had mixed feelings about it, while Ortho was insisting to look into it.

Jack suggested to tell some authorities about it, which gained a flat no. They didn't know how the individuals looked like, nor did the monster they fought got caught by the public. They could be considered to be bluffing for clout, so for now, this stood in between them.

The conclusion: no one would believe the without evidence.

So in the spirit of their unanimous decision of investigating, Ace suggests a group name for them. They were kind of like a team so names were suggested around. The final draft was: Requix squad. It sounded sick by Epel's standards, so they decided that this was their group name.

So they start their investigation. Looking around for clues about what the key was meaning, watching the news, discovering that more and more monster attacks were spotted, thankfully the specialists and fairies were there in time. And of course, attending the courses and triaing to unlock their fairy forms or more power.

Early on, they get introduced to the concept of fairy forms: there are 2 main forms: base form and enchantix. In the first year, students are meant to learn the bases, including control of their base form. The 2nd year students are meant to unlock charmix, a power up for their base form, meant to signal them getting closer to enchantix. And by the final of their 3rd year, they have to get enchantix, so that on the 4th year they could properly train to be guardian fairies.

And like that, our Requix squad is very vexed about it. Ortho had an idea what that stone they saw could be, but he still had to do some research and confirm his worries before sharing a possibly flawed theory.

During this, Jack has Leona, his practical magic teacher, noticing his lack of attention. He does confront him about it. Maybe it was just the start of the year, but Leona could see that Jack was a vigilent kid, so him looking so troubled must've been because something happened. Rightfully, Leona assumes it's because Jack is a late bloomer with magic and all these monster attacks that leave the first year fairies to learn combat more early.

So Leona tries to reassure Jack that he needs to put more mind on his own self and only then he will be able to connect with his magic more.

Meanwhile, Ace has a nightmare. One that ends up waking Epel as well, the 2 having a talk about it.

Ace tells Epel that he saw something bad. A big monster, dark tunnels, and the same cloaked figure from the alley, hidden in the shadows. Epel wasn't the best at comforting, but he did his best. In the morning, Ace didn't share about it with the others, everyone assuming he just didn't sleep that well.

Meanwhile, Jack catches Ortho trying out a dark magic spell. When asking about it, Ortho realises that he has to fess up to the truth: he was half witch, mainly from his mother's side. Since the Shrouds had the heirloom of the first born to be the fairy of death, Ortho's big brother, Idia, gained that title, along with being a full fledged fairy, even if he did cary some faith traces of dark magic, those didn't affect him. Meanwhile, Ortho inherited both fairy and witch magic, making it hard to control and sometimes, his own body can't take it, manifesting as dizzy spells or even fainting when one of the sides takes over. So far, Ortho took many precautions, but he just can't pursue one side of him without feeling the repercussions, so sometimes he tries dark magic spells to balance it out.

Jack is a bit taken aback by it, but Ortho pleaded for him to tell no one. Jack had no option but to comply and help Ortho out with his little problem, mainly by helping with the research about the stone.

And they finally come with a rough idea. What that stone was, could it be a gloomix stone. The others are a bit confused, but Ortho tells them that gloomix is a witch form. Just like charmix is for a fairy, gloomix is a powerup for a witch's base form. Except that while charmix comes from making personal amends with oneself, gloomix is made through taking dark magic straight from a power source or given to you by a more powerful entity.

This leads them to search more about where could the gloomix stone could come from. They discover some aincent tunnels, so while everyone is asleep, the 6 sneak out and find a hidden entrance to the tunnels right behind a statue on the school hall.

Ace does become uneasy, saying to Epel that it was just like in his dream, which also got Epel a bit uneasy. They are exploring a bit the place, using an enchanted paper to map it out.

Thankfully for them, they find a big door. One under many locks. An idea coming from Sebek was to use a convergence spell. They were all a bit skeptical, but if they find something useful in there, they could pinpoint the one behind the monsters and finally report it to the authorities. Heck, maybe they could gain some nice grades out of it. It wasn't unheard of extra credits or good grades from fulfilling a very difficult problem/mission.

The convergence spell is wonky, not working at first. But a second time has all of the group finally coming to a comune agreeement: they need to open that door. They are a group and nothing can stop them!

And it works! The locks are down and the doors open.

And the place? A big library. Lots of stairs, both tall and deep, filled with rows and rows of books. There were also floating platforms going up and down as on the walls, different murals were painted.

They decide to go down instead of up, finding at the bottom, after a hell lot of stairs, some tables, armchairs and couches. There was also a big Cauldron in one side, some utensils and many more things, yet the most interesting of it was a crystal ball.

Jack nudges Ortho to do something with it, but the latter doesn't want. Instead, Sebek pokes it, wondering what it is. The ball does seem to light up and shake with life as from there, a spirit of a man in a lot of robes presents itself.

Also a cat, which immediately slaps Sebek for poking the ball. :'3

The man presents himself as Trein, the spirit of the aincent library. He thought that this place was locked, as no one really got on. The group is pretty quick to say that it was fairly easy to get in, because they did a convergence spell. Trein was a bit skeptical, since the convergence spell had to have both light and dark magic to open all the locks.

It brings a bit of suspicion among the group, Ortho growing uneasy and Jack trying his best to divert the situation towards their goal: finding the truth about the monster attacks. Trein couldn't help them that much, only show them present events through the crystal ball. Lucius however, could find for them any book they desire.

The group contemplates for a bit, before finally telling what they want: a book on monster making. Lucius finds it quite quick and gives it to them, starting to skimm through it and try to find what kind of monster did they encounter then.

It was found out that it was actually a simple type of dark magic spell, a monster made out of environment objects. Therefore their foe wasn't someone that powerful. Maybe they were even on par with them.

But their little research moment gets stopped when they hear a roar outside. Lucius reports to Trein that some sort of beast is trying to break into the library. The group decides to fight it, because that might be their next big clue after all.

In the fight, Ace and Jack also unlock their own fairy base forms. The monster doesn't get defeated that easily, leaving a few wounds on the group, who had to rest a bit in the library.

But, they managed to defeat it in the end. And fortunately, this monster leaved behind something: a wilted flower. It must've been created from that flower in question, so maybe they could find another big clue.

Trein seems quite pleased with the group in question. Maybe everything seemed a bit of a haze, all on the run and bearly they got a month since their started school, but Trein saw some potential in them. So he decided to test them: he gives them a riddle and they will have to bring him the answer to it. The library will only be open to them and them alone, so they shouldn't worry if the monster would return. To find the library again, Trein entrusted them with a magic bottle, that it will show them where the library is when unbottled. They only have 1 chance after all, so they all should think the riddle through.

As for the riddle:

You can't see, smell or hear me,

You feel me at your worst,

You know me at your best,

You, alone, can't have me,

I will be your power and your weakness.

What am I?

So the first years are left to sneak back to their dorm and contemplate.

Except that the next day, after classes, everyone is called for an emergency roll call. As it turns out, the island is suffering consequences of the dark magic monsters being more and more by the day. And so, it was mandatory for NRC and the locals to have some dark magic detectors around. Those were put a few days ago.

And already they went off a few times, getting everyone to realise that someone in this school was secretly a witch. This qualified as a traitor, given the circumstances.

And so, it comes to each group of students to be interrogated under the detector. Of course, knowing just how they got the library seal down, our group is a bit uneasy and also suspicious of each other. They tried to contemplate any kind of last minute plan to escape it, but so far, nothing came to them.

And of course, the detector goes off on them. In front of everyone. Of course, Crowley, the headmaster, gives them the option to fess up who's the witch or all of them to face expulsion and also be handed to the police for further investigations.

And Jack, desemned leader of the group, has no other option than to fess up that Ortho was half a witch. He tried to defend him, saying that Ortho couldn't have done such a thing, but everyone was obviously shocked and more or so disgusted by this.

Thankfully, before Crowley could do a decree, a student raises up, while the other leave for their dorms. That was Idia, very notable by his fire hair. When he goes to Crowley, the detector also goes off. Idia explains to Crowley. Since they remained alone, Idia has more courage to explain that because of their mother being a very powerful witch, both Idia and Ortho have traces of dark magic. It's not much, but enough to have the detectors go off. The monsters that plagued the city were getting more powerful, sign that perhaps gloomix could be involved, which Ortho clearly didn't have.

Also Idia pointed something out, that the Shrouds have a unique trace of magic, which would've let anyone know that a creation spell was done by them, mainly the 'heart of flame'. As an example, Idia himself creates a creature, which notably has a blue flame around it's chest. It easily dissappeared, but it did prove the case.

Crowley buys into it and leaves the group off the hook for now. But if they ever slip up again, he will have to take more drastic measures. For now, Idia is guiding them back to their dorm.

And rightfully, on the halls, Idia warns them. He saw them last night sneaking around. He is aware that they are mingling where they shouldn't, so he tells them to stay put.

He just doesn't want to repeat 'the incident' again.

Back at the dorm, everyone is silent. It was clear that Jack was aware of Ortho's secret and still, it felt like a betrayal. Ortho doesn't try do defend his case, but Ace is the one that breaks the silence.

Idia was going to save their asses anyway so Jack didn't have to just rat out a secret he was entrusted with. Jack tries to defend himself, saying that he didn't know about Idia having an intervention, even so, Epel adds that it's just fucked up that the headmaster was gonna hand them all on the police hands just for that. Deuce points out that now they all have big targets on their back and probably the culprit is happy they have a cover.

Sebek booms in, saying that they must find the true perpetuator, because this now is personal. The headmaster was truly too hurried with this thing, so something had to be up with it. They were 1st years, it was easy to weed them out. If perhaps they were 3rd years or more influencial, then it would've been harder to come up with a proper motive.

So now, Jack just puts his foot down. They are in this shit together. They have an advantage: the library. They need to figure out that riddle, find the object that is the answer, unmask the culprit and clear their name. Now it's the best time to just fess up everything that is on the plate. No more secrets and then they can work this shit together.

So they gather up in their lounge, with pillows and blankets. Sebek conjured a stick they called 'the stick of talky', so they started to pass it around.

Jack didn't have any secrets he hid from them. He was the fairy of snow apparently, which was also new to him, he tries to get around everything and hopes he can just get to the bottom of this.

Ace gets the stick, revealing that he is the fairy of tarot, which puts him in the future seeing fairies, quite the taboo type. His brother was the fairy of matchmaking, a graduate of NRC and Ace hopes to surpass his brother one day to gain more than just 'the little brother' title.

When it's Epel's turn, he says that he wants to be manly, not a cute sparkly ass fairy. But as the fairy of earth, he has to commit to it. He says that he's sick of the poemfiore's strict self care regime, which has him looking like a porcelain doll. And doesn't help that he absolutely hates the prefect's guts.

Sebek reveals that he trains to be a retainer for prince Malleus Draconia, the fairy of dragon's breath. He takes great pride in it, but with Silver, his fellow guard, being a year older and in the 2nd year, Sebek feels a bit overshadowed and ignored by Malleus and Lilia in favor of Silver.

The stick reaches now Ortho, who has a bit of a hard time, but the others were silent when the others confessed so Ortho finally got it off his chest everything, including why Idia was so worried to the point of intervening into their situation because the way Idia gained his enchantix was by giving his base form's wings in an attempt at saving Ortho. Ortho was not a fairy if death, rather a fairy of the souls, which isn't really something to brag about. The others didn't push more info and finally the stick reached Deuce.

Among his delinquent phase, Deuce admits that he has in possession something else. As the fairy of the night sky, Deuce got as a heirloom, the zodiac blade, a blade that was in the form of a bracelet Deuce had on his hand. This blade was insanely powerful and Deuce fears of using it as he is still incapable of controlling it. He fears he could hurt everyone if he uses it.

After the stick finally making a full round, everyone seems a bit awkward. Ace finally decides to address the elephant in the room: they are shit at getting along. This gains a pillow on the face from Epel, which quickly escalates in a pillow fight.

After the pillow fight, all of them were just laying there, laughing and taking a breather. They were absolute disasters, but at least they had each other.

And that's what gets Jack's gears turning. He finally got an idea of the riddle answer, so he prompts the others that the answer they were searching for was here the whole time.

The answer was them all. Their group. Maybe they had a way too fast development, maybe they just got in too much trouble for bearly starting the year and maybe it was all a very wierd streak of luck that got them here, but they are now here, all sprawled on the floor and laughing together despite in what deep shit they are now.

They were in all of this together and they will get out of there together too!

But how do they go to Trein to tell the answer? They were on close watch.

And that was painfully made obvious. Not only the teachers, but also the students put more attention on them. Except that the students also did give them some nasty looks too or even go as far as to prank them. Oh Deuce was on the verge of squaring up with someone if it wasn't for Ace.

But also Idia seemed more of a worrywart now, which the group really was a bit thankful, since Idia's gloomy vibes kept at bay the other younger students.

But still, they took the risk and finally sneaked in while everyone slept to find the library. They do so, surprisingly quick, seeing how there were several failed attempts and more than not some of them slamming into walls.

Trein does wait for them and the group presents their answer: their bond was the answer. Trein takes it as a close one since the answer was friendship (which none of these petty mfs is able to even admit it), but he takes it as correct and finally grands them unlimited access to the library, in the form of a mark on each of their hands. The mark will only appear when they wish to go to the library. And the mark will turn any door they wish to use into a temporary door to the library as to not go all the way through the secret tunnels.

The first years obviously cheer for their success, so they get straight to work. Using Ace's future seeing powers and the cristal ball, the group is able to predict a few of the next attacks. The one they had to look out to was the one on the Halloween, which was when a big ball was held at RSA. Many students from other schools will go there after all. And it was also where their prediction showed that a big monster will come.

So they start to cook a plan. They obviously were forbidden from leaving the school grounds as they were still under suspicion, so they had to be more creative.

So countless hours of late night library studying and and searching. Ortho was a bit skeptical, but in the end decided to make a concealing spell, which would make all 6 of them unrecognizable and thus able to attend the ball. Thankfully it was an open gates event held outside.

Ace and Deuce were trying to assure the details about the ball, while Epel and Sebek were looking into a way to capture the culprit. And Jack was looking into the aspects the monsters had up until now. Ortho had to make the said potion, as a spell would be blown off immediately. It was chaotic and Trein simply watched them ferret from time to time, figuring out that they aren't aware over what source of power they actually stumbled upon.

Halloween comes around. The theme of the ball was, of course, masked ball. And with this, as to not swallow some nasty tasting potion, Ortho merged it into some masquerade masks, perfect to conceal them. To add to it, their casual clothes were now very eye catching gowns and their body proportions also changed. Ortho clearly was proud of his potion success, but warned that it might not hold past midnight, so they should hurry.

The ball itself wasn't that flashy. And it was a surprise that 6 random pretty girls presented themselves in there. To communicate, they had earpieces disguised as earrings, so they split up.

Jack does go to the food table and due to some 'unfortunate accident', a specialist accidentally spills some juice on his dress, which prompts Jack to excuse himself and go to the bathroom. The specialist, named Neige, apologises for it and decides to show Jack where the women toilets are.

On their way tho, Jack knocks out Neige with a spell and is on his merry way to explore the said school, in search for anything that could point to the culprit.

Meanwhile, Ace and Deuce dance together and look gorgeous, Epel hauled a food table, Ortho was hyping Sebek in chugging down a bottle of juice, much like the girls that gathered with them.

Back to Jack, man stumbles upon a quite nicely dressed specialist. Immediately Jack puts the excuse that 'she just got lost' and asks for directions. Except that the guy seems quite suspicious when leading Jack towards the ball location.

Because they didn't go the same route.

Jack is a bit taken aback when the guy tries to attack him, but he defends himself with a spell and so it starts the fight. Thankfully, even when in fairy form, the concealing potion was kept, which Jack was infinitely grateful for as he called for the rest of the team.

But the guy, who reveals himself as Prince Mandor, doesn't let down so easily, able to quickly knock out of the way Jack as he uses the gloomix stone in the form of a glowing collar hid under the coat, to summon a big monster out of the armour statues laying throughout the school.

The prediction was made true in the end, but that didn't stop the group from reuniting and all of them to put a face to the culprit.

Immediately it gets to a big fight as the monster leaves towards the ball. They also had to stop it in time, even so, they didn't have time, nor power to hold against a gloomix power up.

And in true villain fashion, Mandor reveals that he hated fairies from here, who always stole the spotlight from specialists. NRC fairies especially, who were all stuck up jerks. He hated them with a passion, to the point he wanted to put all of NRC to shame.

So our group decides to do a convergence spell, but not the way one may think. They all decide to aim at the collar with different beam attacks, overcharging it with power and thus destroying it.

The prince doesn't give out so easily and manages to flee via running. Jack wanted to run after him, but he was tired and Deuce warned that midnight was coming close. Epel found the gloomix stone smashed on the ground, so he grabbed the shards with him, together using their library marks to get to the library and flee the place.

Trein welcomes them back and the group all collectively are tired. But they present the gloomix stone shards. Nonetheless, Trein congratulates them on their good work. Lucius even gives them all a smol nuzzle. :D But even so, looking at the shards, Trein realises that the stone was made by a very powerful dark magic user, if not a dark magic entity. The price managed to run out of their hands, but right now, they got the gloomix stone shattered. So it was a victory still.

The next day, there are many cheers for the 2nd year group, who apparently managed to defeat the monster that threatened the ball. It was a bit of a collective saltiness from our first year group, because they work their asses for weeks, only to find the real culprit and prevent him from summoning such powerful monsters again. By a short research, it was clear that once the gloomix stone was shattered, the monster was gone, so in reality, they did all the work. Oh they were VERY salty about.

And Trein rightfully tells them that their battle is not over. They need to grow more powerful, not more popular. Begrudgingly, Trein declares himself as their mentor. As the spirit of the aincent library, he holds secrets for far more powerful spells and powers that an NRC graduate could only fantom about, let alone know about their existence and also pursuing them. This library constantly moved around under Sage Island via the secret tunnels, and not anyone could accces it. So for the team to have each a pass, it was quite the feat.

So of course, because they were in no position to accuse someone, let alone a royalty, the first years decided to take up on the offer and defeat prince Mandor and whoever is helping him reek havoc in here.

That's when season 1 ends.

Sonic X Cynic.

listen. okay. when i first conceptualized cynic, I went in with absolutely no expectations when it came to ships. the goal was just to play a version of sonic that was fun to hate with a warped idea of self image and right and wrong. I was not expecting cynonic (and every variation it can come in) to be one of the main OTPs here. Tbh I didn't even care much for dupe-shipping since part of me thought it was a lil weird, and the other part just had no experience w the concept. enter my friend Jeremy, who came up with an AU sonic on the spot as I was sharing a bit of info about cynic that is basically the polar opposite to his rugged bad boi persona. a couple impromptu improv charming exchanges between them later and I was sold LMFAO. I haven't been the same since. and since then I've developed such a soft spot for the idea of this traumatized lil rat learning to become...okay with himself and who he is and come away from the darkness through Sonic's help. (frankly, sonic being such a strong influence in the other character's life in a positive way has always been one of my favorite things abt his pairings) I've adored every interaction he's had with every sonic! platonic, romantic, sibling like, enemies -- it does not matter to me. it will always fascinate me and I will always get a kick out of writing this guy's complicated and messy feelings abt his alternates because it's always so unique every time.

Shadow X Cynic.

I'LL BE REAL CHIEF. the OG plan was so far away from this pairing. I came up with cynic during a period where sonadow had been a bit soured for me due to bad rp experiences. part of the way I established cynic and his dynamic with his own shadow from his dimension was a little influenced by this fact. WITH THAT SAID - I've been completely sold on the pairing I have going with seiko's shadow (@somewhereinchaos) because it's like a completely different spin on sonadow. at first it just seems like two edgy moody assholes that somehow get along but then the nuance and actual sonadow undertones start coming out as their relationship develops. cynic and shadow are quite similar and they find comradery in their shared grievances with the world - yet at the same time also have strongly different personalities and they manage to strike an unexpected balance of lifting each other up and leaning on one another for support. I love that cynic brings out a soft and emotionally consoling side of seiko's shadow that had nearly been forgotten, while shadow brings out more of the heart and passion that makes cynic A sonic! its so fascinating... their relationship has also made me fall in love with sonadow all over again and I just care them so very much. 🙏

Scourge X Cynic.

You are strongly responsible for this brainrot turning into a full fledged otp because I was not prepared for how much these two would have me in a choke hold HDGLJ. like, I already knew cynic would think scourge is cool, that he'd have a person crush on him. I've said before while describing him that cynic is of a similar concept to scourge if he just never changed his identity. radical differences aside, they both understand what it feels like to be told (indirectly or otherwise) that they are inherently wrong and their version of 'sonic-ing' is bad. but where cynic desperately clings onto his identity as sonic with a struggling grip, scourge cast that life aside and became something bigger. that suggestion is so dangerously tempting to cynic as it is painfully relatable, to embrace your worst side because it's 'all you'll ever be.' BUT BESIDES ALL THAT - it ALSO is in a hilarious yet tragic way, a dark spin on cynonic. scourge has all the personality traits of sonic that pull you in, make you wanna like him, which is.. infectious to cynic. they are doomed by the narrative but you still can't help but go 'aww' when scourge gets cynic to laugh or when they riff off each other in their dumb competitive natures.

Surge x Cynic.

THIS ONE CAME COMPLETELY OUT OF LEFT FIELD FOR ME BUT I AM NORMAL. ok, maybe not normal. I haven't caught up on IDW since reading the first issue for imposter syndrome so there's stuff I'm missing here -- but the bottom line is @synnrrgy's surge has wormed her way into cynic's tiny little brain and he is down bad. they somehow bonded through beating the shit out of each other and sharing that same brash attitude, not to mention their mutual dislike for sonic and feeling the inferiority complex. they are the kind of pairing where one part of the ship is always pushing each other's buttons and vice versa but still can bond over doing dumb and reckless shit. what's more, cynic is hopelessly drawn to dysfunction, and still has that deep seeded ache to help people deep down. the situation surge is in with starline aches my HEART because it seriously brings out the desperation cynic has to protect the ppl he cares about, making him pull a complete 180 to the closed off and aloof demeanor he usually has. and the memory loss.. augh. I love me a good angsty antag pair that motivates one part of ship to try to be the 'hero'

Blaze x Cynic.

THIS ONE.. KINDA JUST HAPPENED and it's not exactly the setting you'd expect either. in the TBC au ive mentioned dozens of times on this blog, cynic who is a misunderstood outcast at school develops a crush on @warraigoe 's blaze, and due to tragic circumstances leads to them both being put in a position where they have to sorta set aside any growing feelings so they can prioritize 'leading' the one standing force against CHORUS tech. blaze is both cynic's rock and also someone he trusts to watch his back, but she is also nearing dangerously close to hosting age (essentially when a teenager comes of age and falls victim to the brainwashing hive mind psychic force known as the Song. it's like an invisible illness that comes for almost everyone at some point in this verse) and so cynic is deeply afraid of losing her too. it's another very doomed by the narrative pairing and it's their softer moments with each other that just makes all the upsetting things that end up happening to them hit even harder. in another life they are happier and able to maybe get a chance to actually enjoy each other's time without the threat of inescapable doom bearing down on them...

just the other day i was thinking about an orpheus!revali x eurydice!link au because i was listening to 'wait for me' from the musical 'hadestown'. what about a percy jackson au with revali as a son of apollo who resents link because he gets claimed by a powerful god that no one would have ever guessed would have children. i have part of a scene drafted in my informal-concepting style of a fucking writer!link x editor!revali au. i cannot stress to you enough how insane and Not Normal i am about these two, i will stretch so far to make every connection to revalink i can, i might just get a little taller!

BUT TEEHEE i'm hoping i can get That™ Revalink fic out on time for revalink week 🥺 i stopped writing it for a bit because i got some writer's block and i felt like i was putting too much Plot for a oneshot, but we'll see how it goes! i planned some other stuff based on the prompts, but with the way this semester is going, i doubt i'll be able to write full-fledged oneshots on time for each of them so i may end up just uploading them later on after the semester is over (late may, june, etc)

tbh i haven’t really read the zombot arc yet, im just going off of what ive learned from tumblr lol. But Zombot Vavok intrigues me because theres so much you can do with it

First of all, Zavok knows that vector’s not gonna wanna take over the world. which conflicts with the rest of the deadly six. Does Zavok try to convince vector to join them? Does he secretly switch sides for vector? try and find a middle ground?

 this all depends on whether or not he reaches Vector in time. If he reaches out to vector before he becomes a zombot, then hes gonna have to deal with the fact that Vector lost one of his sons to the virus. And if he’s too late? Well, he would probably find out via a grieving espio, and thats gonna make him feel worse

And then theres the deadly six. How would they react to all of this? would they think Zazok’s gone weak? would they turn on him? cast him out to fend for himself since he insists on sticking by Vector’s side? 

Or, alternatively, do they side with Zavok? I mean, Vector had to have had a positive impact on Zavok, right? Maybe the group noticed that Zavok is happier, not getting mad at them when they make mistakes, just…doing better. Surely, if this “Vector” guy is making him act like this, then he can’t be that bad. He sounds pretty nice for a non-zeti if they’re being honest.

There’s also what can happen after the metal virus. Is Zavok treated like a hero for helping get rid of the virus, or is everyone still salty from that time he tried to destroy the world that one time? Does he decide to leave after all the craziness is over, or decide to stay behind with Vector? How do both of their teams react to all of this??

When bad guys rolls around, i think Zavok would decide to join Starline, with FULL intent to betray him and make him suffer. Not only for revenge, but to make sure his family doesn’t have to go through something this traumatic again.

There’s just so much you can do with this and I love it-

See, it's really funny, @stillafanofsonic made Vavok as a joke to irritate me (I don't like the Zetis, LOL), but... It's actually a really intriguing ship? The more you take it seriously the more interesting bits and pieces you can find to play around with narratively. So part of me's kinda mad at it for being so interesting (when it was just supposed to be a stupid crack ship LOL), but another part of me likes seeing what other people do with it. 😂

Honestly, do what you want. I haven't read a lot of Archie, but I like plucking concepts and characters from Archie and making them my own. 😂 I do recommend the Zombot Arc if you get around to it, but no pressure if you don't want to or can't. 🥰

You've got a lot of fun ideas here! Especially the idea that Zavok would team up with Starline again during Bad Guys specifically to stab him in the back! Let's say, snagging one of the many possibilities you mentioned up above, Zavok was regarded as a hero for helping stop the virus. Do the other heroes know Zavok's just doing this for revenge? Or do they think he's betrayed them, and he's risking his newly gained respect in favor of revenge? 👀

Ok so, in the sagtkaffo au, Bulbasaur is alive and if I continue writing it, he will eventually be found

So let's call this what if scenario "reincarnation au" bc oh boy I love that concept.

Alright, so when it comes to reincarnation stories there is always the big question of just how it would work. Overall there are 2 ways it usually goes:

1) The fact they are a reincarnation shows up with unconscious things about the character. The way they act, their morals and values, their quirks, etc. Bonus points if they at some point get little memories of the individual prior to the reincarnation, mostly in dreams.

2) Who they reincarnate from watches over them in some way. Usually like a protective spirit- depending on how the character ended up the spirit can present itself in a lot of different ways.

I love both interpretations, so screw it, I'll think of it like a mixture of both.

So here are some fun things I thought about this:

1) The Sinnoh kids and Wartortle/Squirtle have no clue about it. Not necessarily bc they get no clues, no they are just really stupid Charmander and Bulbasaur, who pretty much have to watch everything and can rarely interact with them in any significant way, are constantly frustrated with this.

Squirtle/Wartortle, at times, gets very close to realizing it, but it never leads anywhere. He always just ends up thinking that it's a coincidence/his mind playing tricks on him.

2) Both Bulbasaur and Charmander don't know all that much about what happened during the caterpie war, much less what happened after that.

Which leads to them trying to influence the kids into asking more questions about it. They do it in their own ways, maybe Charmander mostly does it by constantly saying specific questions to Chimchar all day, making the kid think he judt had that question on his mind all day for some reason. Or Bulbasaur, maybe on purpose, maybe not, ends up making Turtwig have dreams with some of his past memories, which makes him more curious about certain specific details.

The main issue, is that Wartortle lies alot. And they know it. The sinnoh kids are usually able to tell, but not always, and it drives the dead duo, especially Charmander up the wall, especially since Bulbasaur won't tell him much either- and while sure he himself doesn't know all that much, it is still more than Charmander and he hates it.

3) the Sinnoh kids, on their own, end up having some of the dead duo's quirks. Some of them are harmless, like Turtwig looking for hats- which Wartortle usually ends up stealing for him or helping him make little flower crowns; or Chimchar starting to call Turtwig veggieburger from time to time- which, doesn't last long because both of them can tell that it makes Wartortle sad for some reason, so he eventually stops.

But others are not as harmless, like Turtwig being uncharacteristically gullible for no reason, or protecting his family from poison attacks because he, for some reason, thought he had an immunity to it.

Or Chimchar getting even more violent and cheating during battles. Sure the kid was far from a pacifist, but he always followed the rules in fights, or him going so far as to use some something- anything that could be used as a weapon, like a shiv.

Bulbasaur and Charmander don't make them do that. They did it on their own, but the fact that they are their reincarnations and that the dead duo are always close by has it's influences, even if accidental. Wartortle notices these things, but never really realizes _why_ it's happening. Poor guy has a few heart attacks every once in a while because of said situations, however- which can be either funny or downright depressing for the dead duo depending on the context.

3) I think in this au Wartortle is aware about Bulbasaur's death, and him talking about his old friend's so called "happy ending" was just one of his better lies. The dead duo, however, cannot really tell if he knows or not, and are also not all that sure if he should know- since the guy is already a whole mess. They get more suspicious when the sinnoh kids keep insisting on looking for Bulbasaur in Kanto, only for him to deny it every time.

At some point, he finally admits that Bulbasaur is dead, that he had lied and the dead duo can't help but be relieved.

4) Maybe the dead duo can be seen every once in a while, both by the sinnoh kids and others, but it has to be in very specific contexts. Like, maybe Chimchar could have seen glimpses of Charmander when he was almost dying in the mountain, and the spirit just kept screaming at him to stay alive, to not give up. He probably tried to stop Chimchar from climbing the mountain all together, by trying to talk to him, even though he knows that it's not gonna do pretty much anything substantial.

Same thing with Bulbasaur, but the difference is that the way they do it is usually very different.

Like Charmander will scream, and throw insults and maybe there will be some hopeful message in the middle.

Bulbasaur is usually more quiet and nervous, trying to coax Turtwig out of bad ideas or comfort him when he's in mortal danger.

Maybe ghost types and certain legendaries can see them. Like Mewtwo, and he is mostly just annoyed that the reason those two had not helped him for all of these years is because they had died. Maybe when he finds Wartortle and the sinnoh kids he is so tired from 10 years of battling that it takes a minute or two for him to realize that he had not been screaming at Bulbasaur and Charmander, but instead their reincarnations and is the one who, finally, breaks the knews to the trio that "hey you know your friends that died years ago? Yeah, they reincarnated as the kids you adopted and have also been following the three of you this whole time" dhdhdhdh

5) Maybe at some point, regardless of Bulbasaur being dead, they go to Kanto and end up seeing some old faces again, specifically from the caterpie army. And while Wartortle has mixed feeling about them, he certainly does not hate them, so his stories about the bug type team are always pretty neutral.

But, Charmander for one, absolutely hates them. They're the ones who killed him after all, and not just that, in his eyes, everything that happened to Squirtle and Bulbasaur during the war had been the caterpies' fault, so he can't stand them! Bulbasaur has, like Wartortle, mixed feelings on them, and at times can get uncomfortable when it comes to the caterpies- especially if he ended up dying in some avoidable way the caterpies did not handle well, like a fire and him still being trapped in the cave or something.

And since the dead duo have such strong feelings about them, those emotions carried on in someway in the sinnoh kids. Maybe Chimchar gets inexplicably angry or defensive at them sometimes, or Turtwig, even though the visit had been mostly pleasant, feels unreasonably claustrophobic and just wants to get out of the caterpie's hideout as soon as possible.

If the leader is still alive, they would probably think that Wartortle had told the children the worst stories about the group, but get very confused when the turtle says that he had actually censored most of the bad stuff. And, again, since Wartortle is an awful liar, the leader believes him- but just ends up getting very confused.

I ended up talking a bit more than intended, but I genuinely love these kinds of concepts! If I get some time I draw/write something on it at some point :)

I simply suffer brainrot about the idea until I am compelled to get it down in a document. All of my fics are self indulgent brainworms. Sometimes a particular idea will stick out to me more than another, so sometimes its ultimately up to me to decide what's worth the effort and has enough material to make into a full fledged fic. If I don't have the energy/material for a full fic, then it'll become a headcanon post instead

🔥 craziest thing that’s ever happened to you

Warning for nsfw. Friends and I were drinking in a dorm room in college, playing a game, lots of flirting going on between a few people, until it turned into a threesome between them, right on the bed next to me. The guy in it later asked me to slap him awake/sober, which I did. Wildest day of college. Not the craziest thing that's happened to me cause that's not fit for discussion here, but this is up there lol.

I do! Just simple ear piercings on my earlobes, one each ear. Got them done four years ago and I'm glad I did! (Discovered I stim with my earrings lol). I've been debating getting a second ear piercing but I'm unsure.

Hmm I got second place for altos in a choir competition (I couldn't compete as a tenor since I'm a girl...). It was just very satisfying, after spending a while practicing the music. They have you sing along, both to an accompaniment and then without it, and test how well you keep key and tempo.

i am doing very good right now! i have figured out the cure to getting over my own writer's block is just writing silly little stories that don't mean much but are very fun. i ended up writing about 2k words of a short story about a city that was always dark, and while it's probably not my best work, it is the first time i've consistently written in a while so i'm counting that as a win.

also about ocs, i know some people have been talking about theirs, but i wanted to make sure it was okay if i talk about my non-fandom ones? i have a handful more after writing that story.

mumbo and grian's relationship...they make me ill! they make me ill. it's like...idk as much as LOVE desert duo, when it comes to my own writing i seem to just write mumbo and grian over and over again. they're just so. yeah. <3 im glad you like the preening scenes there will likely be more of them. it's just such an easily intimate type of scene you know? and the fact that grian up until this point has most done it alone (minus pearl helping sometimes), which is pretty uncomfortable and tedius when he can't easily reach his own back. and im so glad you appreciate scar taking jellie into the void he would never abandon her <3 it was one of my fave funny/lighthearted parts of the series

I'M SO GLAD THAT YOU LOVED THAT LINE. i know that i say every line someone quotes is my favorite but that might actually be one of my favorites in the whole fic. the Lonesome Dreams backstory for jimmy was in the works for a long time before I ever wrote the fic, since i came up with that before i even came up with htbahb. so I absolutely intended everything from that fic to be implicated in that line <3 also you're right, i think lonesome dreams does add to it. i may or may not put it in the series, but lonesome dreams is also planned to work with other series as well, so idk

AND YESSS THE DSMP REFERENCE i had a lot of fun with it. i chose blue and gold for the door because it reminded me of l'manberg uniforms and was less obvious than green for dream. i also like my other slight dsmp-adjacent throwaway in mcc too, where when mumbo joins the server tommy comments in chat about seeing him as a father figure (mcc19 does take place after that one collab video...just sayin')

"what?" you stop eating and face juza, whose brows are raised with what you assume is amazement. why would he say something like that now? you haven't seen kazuha all day. "what do you mean?"

juza points to a spot on your neck and then to your waist, where your shirt is starting to ride up, exposing your skin. "they're faint, but i can still see the bruises he gave you." juza's face becomes clouded with concern. "must've been painful, huh?"

you nearly choke. you shove your shirt down to hide the bruise and bring a hand up to cover your neck with a nervous laugh. "uh, yeah! he's just, uh..." you scramble to think of an explanation. "very competitive. i beat him a few times, so he got a little riled up. nothing serious, though."

"i didn't peg him as the aggressive type... then again, we still don't know much about him." juza sighs. "you're the only person he really talks to on this ship, kid."

bullshit, you think. "is that right..?"

"sure is. look, i get that you two are sparring partners, but take it easy on each other, okay?" juza clamps a hand down on your shoulder, an easy-going smile crossing his face. it's so easy to lower your guard around this guy. "if you see kaedehara kid today, get him back for those bruises, okay? give 'em hell."

it must be nice to be so in the dark about the truth. you mirror his smile nonetheless. "i will." juza soon departs with a wave, leaving you to your devices. you wait until he's far away enough before you dart into your cabin and move your hand from your neck.

now that you're looking closer, it's a good thing you chose to wear this shirt today. the bruise on your neck that juza was referring to was only one of many that kazuha had left a few days prior. he really was a little rougher with you that day than usual -- he said something about only letting him pick on you and no one else. whatever that meant. you're about to inspect your other bruises when someone raps their knuckles on your door gently. you fix your clothing and head over to open it.

and who else but kazuha would be standing at your door? so much for a peaceful day.

"oh. you." you deadpan. truthfully, your heart is starting to pick up speed, but you're not sure why -- you're afraid you might be anticipating what usually happens whenever he shows up at your door. "what do you want?"

kazuha makes a faux wounded expression. "no proper greeting, songbird? have you lost your manners?"

"bite me." you shoot back.

kazuha raises an eyebrow. "so you're asking for it this time?" he chuckles, the sound low. "this is a new change of pace."

"that's not what i meant, and you know it." you scoff. you march further into your room and plop onto your bed. there's really no point in turning him away; he'll either stay in your doorway or let himself in anyways, which he does. he stands close by you, his lips still quirked with an irritating hint of amusement. you don't like the way he looks at you -- at least you don't think you do. kazuha is pretty and it's probably the most irritating thing about him.

kazuha crosses his arms. "i overheard juza telling you to, and i quote, 'give me hell'." he looks far too entertained by the thought. "do you plan on following through?"

you think of the faded bruises on your skin. "maybe i should," you grunt, "since you're so bent on giving me hell." your aggression wavers just a bit on your next sentence. "did you really have to make the... the bruises so dark?"

"you can call them hickies, songbird."

"hell no. hickies are given to me by people i actually like."

there's finally a crack in kazuha's visage. he opens his mouth but quickly shuts it. there's silence. whether it's a comfortable one or not, you have no idea. kazuha's next words are a bit soft. "and who has given you hickies in the past?" you eye him warily, but answer anyways. he just hums and nods as he savors the information. "i see."

"why are you here, kazuha?" you finally ask. "what do you want?"

kazuha shrugs, the motion fluid. "originally, my plan was to suggest that we spar. i wanted to see if you would try to put me in my place." he pauses. autumn eyes zero in on you, sending a shiver down your spine. "but i'm reconsidering that."

you recognize the look he's giving you -- that look, like he's trying to devour you whole. it renders you speechless. your neck prickles with heat as kazuha makes his way over and sits beside you. like always, you don't put up much of a fight as he brings his bandaged hand to cup your jaw. kazuha hums again, this time sounding dismayed. "they really are fading, aren't they?"

"you better not." you threaten lowly. your words are harsh and cold, but they somehow still hold no bite.

"and why not?"

"people talk." it's not really that you don't want them to, it's more that you like it when they do. you wish you could be more assertive at a time like this -- if you were, you'd probably stop dancing around the truth. "they'll think we're..." together, you almost say.

kazuha picks up on your meaning right away, but your words affect him in a way you're unfamiliar with. his lashes flutter ever so slightly and something vulnerable flashes across his face. he wipes it up almost immediately, his usual smugness returning to his face.

"is that so unpleasant a thought?" he leans in and brushes his nose against the sensitive part of your neck. "they're bound to think that we're together by now, don't you think? you let me into your room..." his teeth gently tug on your skin, making you jump. "you let me touch you like this..."

it's not unpleasant. gods, it was never unpleasant to begin with, but it's plain as day that kazuha thinks of you as a fucking joke. he does this so often -- tugs you under the waves of affection and treats you like a lover only to turn around and agitate you to the brink of tears within the same day. he revels in your tears -- he's told you once before. kazuha thinks of you as his own personal plaything; one that he can do with as he pleases and stake his claim on.

and you, being the fool that you are, allow him to.

you put up a fight -- and a pretty damn good one, really -- but your heart isn't in it. it never is. you've been a sucker for kazuha from day one. sometimes you think he feels the same way; from the way he bandages you up to the way he'll subtly share his food with you when you want more but are too shy to speak up about it. but then he does this; this fake display of infatuation, this constant marking whenever you do something with someone he doesn't like or say something too smart for his liking.

it's too much, you think as kazuha's lips start to press firmer against your neck. but if this is all you can get from him, then...

kazuha blows on your skin and laughs when you jump. "you're not listening to me, are you?"

"why should i ever listen to you?" you shoot back.

"it's in your best interest to do so." kazuha's hands find rest on your waist, his fingers slipping under your shirt and brushing over a sore spot. you shudder. "i wouldn't want to hurt you again, pretty thing." he presses his fingers into your skin, making you hiss with pain.

"shut the fuck up." you seethe. "you're an asshole."

kazuha hums. always with the humming. always so serene, even when he's got you in the palm of his hand. he's silent for a moment. then: "maybe you're right." he sounds almost solemn. you can feel his breath warm against your skin. "but you... you are my canvas. and i believe a new painting is in order."

you don't miss the emphasis he puts on the word my. it's poetic. it'd even be romantic if this whole situation wasn't so...

your thought are halted when kazuha suddenly starts to suck on your neck. the action startles you; your mouth drops open in a gasp and your hands fly to his shoulders, but he doesn't budge. he lowers you to lay on your back and moves with you, his mouth never leaving your skin. once you're laid down, he pulls away for a moment to just look at you.

"i fucking hate you." you grumble. at the very least, you can still put up a fight.

kazuha huffs a laugh under his breath. what is it that he finds so funny about you? "so you say." he murmurs. "then stop me." when you falter, he just smiles. "of course you can't." he eases back down and continues his assualt on your neck.

all you can do is muffle your gasps and sighs. maybe he knows how you feel. maybe, you think as he soothes the sting of a fresh mark with his tongue, just maybe, he knows how badly you want this to stop. how badly you want this to become real.

you bring a hand up to tug at kazuha's hair hard when he bites you too hard. he chuckles and continues what he was doing.

or maybe he just likes seeing you squirm. because at the end of the day, whether you like it or not, you're his. and he knows that.

...perhaps lovebites is a better word to describe the purples and reds left on your skin.

✦ it ended up being angst, which... was not the original plan? i dunno, this is just how i see this kind of thing playing out with mean!kazuha.. he has his moments where he's just so gentle with you, but you can never be sure if he actually likes you or if he's just doing this to mess with your head (the answer is both). this is a special type of mean!kazuha, i guess!

A/N: Finally, I’m having Scaramouche brainrots after giving other anime men the majority of my attention. This one is a concept post, formatted similar to this Albedo one. I added a vocabulary section at the end as well!

This is not healthy love and is meant to make you uncomfortable.

Scaramouche can never fathom liking, much less loving, anything/anyone related to that woman. Even his delicate, deceitful appearance that granted the little man many advantages is no exception.

Until one seemingly ordinary sunny day, he laid eyes on you by accident, when you were waiting outside a shop in Narukami city. Naturally, it happened when he had to watch over some incompetent subordinates and show them the way of this land.

A shrine maiden. Or, if one wishes to use Inazuma’s local terms, a miko. No other group in Inazuma would wear that distinctive combination of red hakama and white kosode(1) .

You are everything that he is not.

Sheltered and naive, that much the Harbinger can tell from how you carry yourself. Always studying your surroundings with curiosity while keeping a light smile upon those lips, typical behaviour of people who were raised within the confine of four safe walls.

Pitiful thing, he bet you never know how to haggle(2),nor do you have the need to. People like you are often born with silver spoons and grew up thinking there is nothing wrong with worshipping the ground your archon walks on.

You have no idea what despicable, malicious deeds your beloved Electro Archon has done behind her believer’s back.

People like you disgust him, as the way things should be. Yet, somehow that hatred has been blended by some other strange feeling.

It manifests in many forms, unfortunately.

Such as the frustration of not seeing you picking up the blooms from the best florist of Inazuma every week.

Or that urge to unleash his powers upon that mortal that has been taking up a little bit too much of your time and attention in the name of the business.

This feels...off, and out of his control. The balladeer is not a fan of uncertainty.

Had it been anyone else, Scaramouche would not have hesitated to steal you away for himself, at most the second time he felt the strange stir in his supposedly empty chest.

But not you. The “boy” might not fear the archon much, but he owes the pink kitsune lady a great deal. To many’s surprises, the cunning Harbinger is not someone who disregards favours. If you were to go missing, Yae would for sure notice and trace back to him.

So he is left with the only viable option: watching you from afar.

Scaramouche’s sentiments regarding your knowledge of his existence is...conflicted, to put it in simple terms. Obviously, you are none the wiser to his and his trusted underlings’ watchful gazes.

On one hand, as a morally good citizen, you naturally would not want to be associated with the Fatui bad guys. However, you got this enchanting power to make the Fatui Harbinger wonder: What would you think of him, if he were to present himself to you?

There you are again, feeding the foxes near the stairs of the grand shrine. You seem to be able to gain happiness from the smallest things, for example, a colourful bird or a believer thanking you for their good fortunes.

Leisure reading had let him know those mortal women would seek the approval of their mothers-in-law to make sure their marriages are successful.

No, since when did these ridiculous concepts appeal to him? It is not like he ever cares for his "mother dearest"'s opinion on anything.

Looks like a negotiation meeting with Yae Miko is in order. Maybe he would get that item for her so he can finally have you without worries.

Who of the HQ boys do you see as being Mama's Boys? 👀 For me the twins immediately come to mind, as does Bokuto since he's the big baby of the family! 😊 I also think Oikawa would've been especially close to his mother and sister. This is a really, really long ask answer, so I’m gonna put a read line here so things on my blog don’t get all stuffy, but I think these headcanons were so fun to write and I hope those of you who stop to read them enjoy them! 

MatsuHana won the poll because of votes I've had on Twitter, so yay! Honestly, me too. I've been daydreaming a lot about a playful poly relationship with them and I just can't get over the dynamic. How nice it would be to work with Matsukawa during the day (because of my future career plans) and then come home to dinner made by Makki and then all clean up together and cuddle. It's a thought I just cannot let go of

Okay, first of all: I fucking love this idea. Mama's boys end me every time because I just KNOW they won't be a total asshole if they're a loving mama's boy. Second, I agree with the twins for sure, though I think that Atsumu clings to mama Miya a bit more than Osamu does. Like he's the grown up kid who still cuddles with his mom. Whereas Osamu gives me the kind of vibes like he would follow his mother everywhere that they go around the house and never stop talking to her, and even after he moves out I can see him calling her every night on his way home from the store or while he's making dinner

Definitely Bokuto! I think he loves curling up with his mom and running errands with her. He makes me feel like he would love to garden with his mom when he was younger and I think in the future after his mom passes he would take gardening up again and have a little flower patch. Maybe he'd talk to his mom while he planted the flowers and thank her for teaching him everything he needs to know about gardening, only to go to you and sob because he misses her

I agree with Oikawa 100000%. I think he was the clingy mama's boy who would rant and rave to her about every little issue he had while sitting at the table while she makes dinner. She heard about Ushiwaka and Kageyama, and even into his high school years. I think he would FaceTime with her every day when he moves to Argentina because he misses her and he still wants to see and talk to her as much as he can

Picture this: Matsukawa as a mama’s boy. Following her around after school and telling her all about his day. Telling her juicy gossip he hears from Makki because there’s trust that she’d never say anything. Her being the cool mom that he tells absolutely everything to and having such a strong bond with his mom. I think she taught him how to cook and he never forgot her homemade recipes. He loved bringing his s/o home to meet his mom because, uh— hello, his two favorite people in one room? Yes please. And if his mom sensing something off, that person is out. I can see Matsukawa’s mom being like a second mother to Makki as well and thinking of him as another son because of how much time he would spend at their house in his teenage years because he’s Makki and Matsukawa is his best friend

I think that Kyōtani gives off mama’s boy vibes if I’m being honest. Like after losing a match or getting into an argument with a kid at school, I think he would seek comfort from his anger and other people with his mom. Curling up with her on the sofa and eating some yummy food with her. Maybe she teaches him how to bite his tongue a bit better as he gets older and he finally starts listening to her. Kyōtani feels like the kind of guy who wouldn’t appreciate his mom fully until he was a lot older and then see her nearly every day if he could. Calling her on the way home from practice and going “Home” for weekly dinners because his mom’s house is always going to be home

Kageyama as a mama’s boy. Hiding his face in her stomach after a hard day when he was younger and seeking comfort in eating food with her during his shitty middle school days. Talking about his issues with Kunimi and Kindaichi to her after long days and then moving onto Hinata, but before she knows what’s even happening, Kageyama isn’t trashing on Hinata so much anymore and she praises him for that and it encourages him to keep going when he doesn’t know how to use his words

Kuroo as a mama’s boy. Making dinner with her every night, gardening, running errands together on the weekends; even after he moves out, he still frequently comes home to spend time with his mom because they’ve always been close and they’re always going to be, having dinner with his s/o at his families house at least twice a month so that his mom and s/o can have time together because he would love it if his mom and s/o got along. He learned a lot from his mom and he appreciates everything she’s done for him. Kuroo reminds me of a kind guy who would have a fun and playful teasing relationship with his mother as well as respecting her and holding her on a very high pedestal

Suna as a mama’s boy— but not with his mom, with the Miya twins mom. Maybe he has not the best and open relationship with his mother, but I think if he got close with the twins and he made his way to their house, their mother would basically adopt him and treat him as her own. Homemade meals to take home, hugs and kisses to the forehead. Cheek pinches and commenting about how handsome he’s getting as he gets older because she sees him as another son and he gets close to her. He views her as a mother and loves to follow her around with Osamu or call her to tell her about recent accomplishments because he knows that she would be as happy for him as he was happy for himself. Atsumu is jealous, but mama Miya adores Suna and teaches him how to hold himself high and be treated like he deserves to be treated— with love

Akaashi seems like a mama’s boy to me. The kind of guy who loved to learn from his mom and has always held her on a high pedestal because “Wow, my mom is amazing and can do anything!” And that belief never failed for him. I think he leaned to cook, clean, sew, take care of himself, take care of others, etc., from his mother and he’ll never forget that. Because of the way that Akaashi is, I think that he would learn to be respectful to others and his family and never speak cruelly or out of line with someone— all because his mother taught him how to treat even rude people

Oh, god. I went overboard. I love the concept of mama’s boys, and it’s really funny that you send me this because I was just thinking about having a mama’s boy Haikyuu boy as a boyfriend and being treated like a queen because he was raised by the best and taught by the best how to treat and respect women. I have a lot of feelings, anyways… I hope this isn’t too long to read, but thanks for sending these in and letting me get all gushy about our boys!
