Assorted Doctor Iceberg Headcanons and Trivia Part 1.

Hi, this is my mega-list of headcanons, theories and general trivia for Iceberg part one! These are based on a mix pseudo-memories (IRL/DA shit dw abt it), dreams and general headcanons.

Below the cut are the long winded list for easy view. Idm inspiration but please don't steal them since as said most of it is based on memories that are very real to me thank you! /gen.

i. Iceberg's full name is Joshua-Ellis Tyler Gills, his name "deadname" being Ellis, but he still enjoyed being called it so he decided to add it apart of his newer name of Joshua, thus it becoming hyphenated. His middle name was something he gave too himself as he is a massive fan of Tyler. The Creator.

ii. He grew up in a small town in Florida, USA. But was born somewhere else during a trip his mother and father was on. He was born in a hospital in Chicago.

iii. Iceberg always had poor eyesight, this was made worse when his anomaly kept freezing his tears which would often stab him in the eyes- this rendered Iceberg to having poorer vision and only really being able to cry in showers, and learn how to bottle everything up. Do Not Cry. Thankfully the prescription he has no allows him to see, but due to factors his vision is considerably a lot worse than for example: Doctor Glass and/or Kondraki, etc.

iv. During his time in the military he was sent on the field a good few times, and Iceberg was great and experienced with both a gun and knowledge in explosives to the point where his behavior grew concerning, enjoying blowing shit up a little too much and very much excited when the enemy stepped on an explosive device he modified. This grew to a level where he was forced to stay the military base instead, which his efforts were put to use. He helped researched on a cryogenics stasis chamber, designing it and overall helped on the engineering of it. But one thing led to another, an argument broke out and Ice was pushed inside the untested chamber. And there he was frozen in time. Who knows how many days if not weeks passed by before the stasis chamber started to malfunction, waking Ice up and exploding. Of course, Iceberg survived, but wasn't left without being injured with burn scars and frostbite and of course earning his anomaly.

v. Iceberg's anomaly itself wasn't an instantaneous affair; rather it slowly became more and more apparent after the incident. It was first just that Iceberg feeling cold and stiff, those who touched his body felt coldness of someone whose been outside on a winters day with little to no protection. Over time this anomaly advanced further his once nominal body temperature of 37 would drop significantly to -7, where it remains today.

vi. To expand on his anomaly Iceberg cannot control it meaning yeah nah he doesn't have "Elsa powers" or anything like that - the most that can happy is when he's really sad and low it can seem like he's getting colder. While he can drink water he has to have it lukewarm, if not he sticks to coffee, varied flavors of soda and sadly has to have lukewarm showers to prevent burning and freezing. Ice does not enjoy it he wants to eat and drink normally like he used to but alas his anomaly is a massive hindrance.

vii. Speaking of Sodas: Iceberg's favorite soda is Pepsi Cola, Coke-Cola and Monster Energy drinks. He used to be a fan of sprite but now it just tastes too bubbly.

viii. Would it surprise anyone when I say Iceberg is a bit of a gamer? No? Okay! He is mostly a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series enjoying San Andreas, IV and V the most though. He has played a few of the Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, and RDR games. And you know what? He also enjoys the Sims and Animal Crossing but its a guilty pleasure since he is a manly man and can't be caught playing such!

ix. Now is there any mental soup stuff with Iceberg? Yes! Due to his childhood (explained more in part 2) which he honestly cannot remember Ice dissociates, has C-PTSD, schizophrenia (Hebephrenic type)*. As well as being hypersexual due to trauma.

x. Finally for part 1 of this so it isn't too long. Um. A list of theme songs, or songs that I think generally vibe with Iceberg but I don't consider themes. Some he probably listens to himself. i hung out with snow today!! we first went to this small japanese grocery store called Shin Nippon Do. it was like a cute little convenience store and i got honey butter chips that they said are really good and they gave me these cola fettuccine candies bc its their fav and ive never tried them. then, we went to hmart and snow bought so much LOL they introduced me to a lot of new foods that they enjoy so i got some of them and other fun snacks bc i love snacks. ! they bought dango from the market that we were supposed to try, mostly me bc ive never had it before, and we both forgot about it! so theyre saving it and we’ll eat it next time i see them. we tried some snacks from hmart in the car and we ate those tiktok jelly things!! i dont get why so many people talked about them!? its JUST Jellyyyy lol but yes it was good jelly..but it also made a funny sound every time we ate it. we got food at mad for chicken, then quickly stopped at a store called utopia and then i came homeee and now im here. its only our second time hanging out but i feel like we get along so wellll and i love it. omg if only we lived closer..but yeah, it was a fun time and they said my outfit looked really cute :3

they also couldnt believe how many safari tabs i have open lolol its an actual problem tho…and they were like you said so many funny things today. like whattt did i reallyy. i love when i make people laugh. and they say funny jokes all the time its great

White swan~ You always focus on the good not the bad, a white swan mindset is being able to focus on the good and learn from your past failures :( You always have a smile on your face, knowing you will see results, you never put yourself down when someone talks bad about you! Wonyoung never puts herself down because she knows her value, she knows how much she is worth!!! People talk bad about you okay so what???? their is a reason they are behind you!!! Wonyoung also has a idgaf mindset, like queen wonyoung said "your you, im me" Wonyoung doesn't care about haters because she knows that at the end of the day, what did you benefit out of listening to the haters, nothing! you don't get a glow up instead you get glow down, when you listen to haters you end uplowering your value and lowering your worth! why? because you listen to people talk about you, instead of focusing on yourself, it is so important to just block out the haters, Wonyoung got so much hate at such a young age, she dealt with grown adults hating on her but what did she do? she ignored them, when you start doing that people will start to realize, you have a idgaf mindset, people will start to realize how stupid they look taking about you, when you honestly don't give a fuck (sorry for cussing lol) so the whole entire thing summed up, focus on yourself, get your work done and if anyone hates don't worry because when they realize that you don't care at the end of the day and they will be and look embarrassed.

Hobbies are really important because when you have so much extra time on your hands, you just might be a victim of scrolling endlessly on tiktok, instagram, twitter and, youtube. Wonyoung has hobbies such as modeling, she plays the piano, flute and violin and she learned English and Japanese. . . . Yes, I and many have fallen into that constant cycle of being lazy and just laying on the couch, hair messy, clothes dirty with a can of coke-a-cola and a bag of chips, eating myself away. Yes when in the moment it feels nice and being to take a break from reality, but question yourself after the lazy moment "why did I do that?" "what do I benefit from that besides watching 200 reels and binge watching 2 seasons of the k-drama series called happiness *i love that show lol*" but in all seriousness people will joke around and say "My hobby is eating" or "binge watching is my hobby" but lets be honest we all know that's not a hobby. Having hobbies can benefit you in so many ways. Hobbies help you with your emotional or mental health, hobbies can also help you interact/socialize with others, you can find new friends because you guys share a new hobby. unloved’s new album has been out for some weeks but ive had Sorry, Baby on loop most of that time. it’s got the sort of fluttery bubbly electronica i associate with heist scenes or when someone wants to convey there is technology bubbling away in the background. cf a lot of the ambient music for the fallout 4 nuka cola world dlc. i also wish i had a better comparison.

rewatching a bunch of westerns as i knit. even tho i rarely rewatch shit, i want to be steeped in the vibes bc the days are very short and the nights are very long and the cowboys spark joy. The Great Silence (1968, dir. Corbucci) knocked me flat for a full twelve hours as it did for my first viewing. i remain mildly bemused by Death Rides A Horse (1967, dir. Petroni) but im glad mr van cleef got to have his tits out?

i also saw Gallowwalkers (2012, dir. Goth, starring Wesley Snipes). a weird west/horror sort of direct to DVD thing. there is very little to recommend this movie. it is largely incoherent. it has a lot of on-screen rape and sexual assault and women getting thrown around. i could not put together this movie in chronological order if you put a gun to my head. however, it does Look.

the costuming is what i can only call “capcom video game”. some of the worst wigs i have ever seen in my life are in this movie.

yes this man has two iguanas sewn to his head, bc the schtick of the film is the undead need to continuously get new skin sewn on. how they acquire the skin is shown in great detail.

unfortunately (fortunately?) the baddies have nearly all the good lines.

beat the elite four in Pokémon, beat Team Star, beat Arven (that sucked. i felt so bad at the end of that) can’t quite beat my best friend/arch rival. more puttering around needed. or perhaps i need to actually learn how types work instead of hitting everything with one of my flamingo’s three different kinds of big kick. let me in the crater!!!

knitting again!!! i will update when i have a full repeat done bc right now it doesn’t look like very much. beloved mutual and real/life co-conspirator @itsybitsydragon passed along two gently loved cat trees for my chief henchwoman and she (the cat) has taken to them quite well!!! lovely to see her (my dear friend, i can see my cat any time i want), very worth shuffling a lot of furniture around.

I did promise a cast iron update but it’s a disappointing and slightly baffling update. this is Four (4!))) layers of seasoning and it's still not evening out. it's covered, bc it's not rusting, but it does look like fucking shit. it is dry to the touch and not tacky.

there are several potential causes, i think:

couldn’t quite get all the old seasoning off and this is somehow affecting the new seasoning (but it shouldn't be reacting this weirdly to the flaxseed oil? or really at all?)

i didn’t manage to completely neutralize the vinegar bath with baking soda?

the layers are maybe slightly too thick or slightly too thin? the weirdest looking parts are in the parts where i did manage to get the old seasoning off and down to bare metal

perhaps my ancient electric oven is not quite getting up to that nice 450-500F i want? i inadvertently left my oven thermometer in the old lair and haven't remembered to get a new one, but the smoke point of this oil should be like 225-230F, and i know for a fact my oven gets above that bc i have not yet given myself food poisoning

this is probably perfectly fine and safe to cook with but it's a little bit too much problem solving for me right now, and like @morrak i'm probably going to get deeply annoyed at some point and have at it with some naval jelly. unfortunately that will have to wait for more clement weather.

just got told that maybe my judgement in drinks shouldnt be trusted 😔 just cause i like the new flavor of pepsi... the peepsi is GOOD guys!!! and then one of them brought up that my favorite drink tastes like cough syrup WHICH IT DOESNT... THE ALANI NU CHERRY SLUSH DOES NOT TASTE LIKE COUGH SYRUP.... albeit ive never had cough syrup that is BESIDES THE POINT. and YES i once made a drink that consisted of olive oil, peanut butter, coca cola, and various other things, but that doesnt matter because that was MEANT to be bad. i just have great taste and everyone is mad about it.

Cyn's Top 10 Kpop Songs of 2023

Yes I know this is late but it's still January so who cares. I'm limiting this to korean title tracks and prerelease singles. Perhaps I'II make one for my favorite b-sides later. Alright lets go!

10. Lit by Stayc - I'll admit this one is kind of a sneak. I didn't even really get this song until this month. When I got it though I got it HARD. I think I listened to it on repeat for an hour straight. Do I actually think it's better than Teddy Bear and Bubble? Maybe not but I do think I like it the most. It's so brain scratchy!

9. Rising by TripleS - What a great song to be the group's official debut! I can really tell that they're Loona's little sister group in this song. Not that it sounds exactly like a Loona song but it has all these little moments where I can hear it. Probably because its a jaden jeong + monotree joint. Anyway it's a really good song and the chorus hits hard.

8. Perfume by NCT Dojaejung - My sister described this as a strut song which is so accurate. This song makes you feel like THAT BITCH. It's super smooth and sexy and really really good. Interesting vibe from NCT (That being said l'm a sticker defender so believe me I have nothing against the NCT sound)

7. Air Force One by Odd Eye Circle - The return of oec fully rocked my world. I was ranting and raving about the loonaverse implications of this song / mv / mini album for days. It's also just a really cool song! Daradaradadada~

6. Giddy by Kep1er - my babies!! Their best title track since Wadada. Also the dance is adorable. I immediately taught myself the chorus choreo. I'm incredibly biased towards these girls so I was tempted to put this higher but I held myself back.

5. Zero by New Jeans - Now I know what you're thinking, "Why tf is that your new jeans entry?" and "That's literally a coca cola ad. What's wrong with you?" This is my list though and Zero was legitimately my top kpop song on my spotify wrapped. I listened to it an ungodly number of times. It has like a weird hypnotic effect on me so I listen to it while I study.

4. Kick It 4 Now by The New Six - My top boy group jam of the year. Again shout out to my bg stan sister to putting me onto this. She truly keeps me in the loop in that regard. Pure happiness in a song it's SOOO FUN!

3. Queencard by (G)I-dle - Must every song be deep? Can't we all just have a silly girly time? My boob and booty hot!! In all seriousness though I think Jeon Soyeon is a genius. Ya'll might think her lyrics are weird but you just don't understand her like me. This is the song on this list that I think will have the most lasting impact. We'll all be looking back fondly on Queencard.

2. Underwater by Chuu - Underwater feels like a breath of fresh air to listen to. This song is so comforting; Chuu's voice is like a hug. It for real makes me emotional. It's so Taeyeon coded which is an incredibly good thing in my book.

1. Unforgiven by Lesserafim - This was my anthem of the year no question. I don't know if Lesserafim will ever be able to top this. It's just flawless. Potentially my favorite kpop album of the year all together too. Idec that half of it is songs we've already heard. I love having greatest hits in one place and Lesserafim's greatest hits are really good!

Just bc ive seen a few posts going around about the panera bread lemonade killing someone:

The lemonade does not actually contain enough caffeine to kill an average person. It is not particularly dangerous to drink. The woman who died (at least the first woman, i heard someone else died?) Had a heart condition that was specifically triggered by caffeine. The problem is not that the charged lemonade is particularly dangerous, it is that this woman - who knew she had a heart condition and therefore never drank coffee or energy drinks - was not aware she was ordering something that contained significant amounts of caffeine. Its akin to allergen labels on food. The charged lemonade was not properly labeled as an energy drink, and when it was the label was misleading (one sign read that the charged lemonade had the same amount of caffeine as the cold brew coffee, but it was comparing a medium lemonade to a large cold brew) which prevents people who need to limit their caffeine intake from having potentially vital information.

Yes, the charged lemonade has a bonkers amount of caffeine even for an energy drink. That woman may have survived if it had less. But the problem isnt really the amount, its the labeling.

Now, the charged lemonade is not necessarily dangerous on its own BUT Panera Bread did have it on tap and was letting premium members have infinite free refills, and that is genuinely insane, and probably added to confusion. The idea that a drink that comes out of a soda machine would be more caffeinated than monster is just so absurd that i bet a lot of people thought it must not be caffeinated, or maybe only a little like coca cola.

Look, this thing is a ghost, right? And ghosts are dead people. And sometimes dead things, like that time you were haunted by a spectral donut shop that kept following you around & lighting other kinds of breakfast food on fire inside your kitchen

Well, there's a bunch of pictures of dead people right inside your house. There is, you reason, a pretty good chance that one of them is the ghost that's haunting your family. The only problem is you have absolutely fuck-all idea who ANY of these people are.

Some of them are probably the heads of the house. Some of them are not, because your family are rich assholes and old timey rich people had portraits made of literally anything that struck their fancy, like particularly square-looking farm animals. Yes, really. Very fashionable! (ORIGINAL: inset pictures of square farm animal paintings)

You kind of wish you'd paid more attention in that one art history class you took back in college, because maybe there would be some hint in here, like the only renaissance painting you can remember where it was really some kind of marriage contract.

You didn't, though, and so you're stuck with a series of paintings, names, and dates. Your journalist lends you a magical notebook and pen that expand to your size, and you begin writing observations. You note M or F for some of the weirder, more insane-pilgrim-y names.
