Outburst-y October
I really should set a timer for complaining, and then try to move on with my life, because the state-of-the-art of my emotional management right now is terrifying.
#unfortunately I'm a slower writer than I used to be#and I'm slower at handwriting too#and the complaining part is way less efficient. i already know all that (and so do the people around me who support me)#how does one approach fury at the conditions (and a concurrent need to wrap the important thing up) and just moves on#without saying everything out loud (it doesn't work here) or erupting with all the anger that's been boiling on the back-burner for so long#so long that the kettle is burnt. huh. that's one hell of a good metaphor#trying to channel the white hot rage into a furnace (i need to find a furnace) and then use it to forge sth good. a horseshoe maybe#or. knowing me. a pretty vase (delicate and breakable). while trying to shape a sword#neither makes sense in the long run :)#maybe i should take up doing origami... or breathing exercises... jigsaw puzzles... or. surely. martial arts.#*angry penguin meme*#time to find a furnace it seems#a fury etc

Also like Jenny "as a function of memory". Jenny haunts the album. It's ostensibly /her/ album, but she haunts it, even more than she did in parts of AHWT. Shes present in the album, but she haunts it as if she's already gone. It's like the classical tragedies, where your tragic protagonist haunts the play even before the tragedy happens. They're the central figure and yet they're almost not present at all. It was always going to end this way. You cannot understand the tragic hero, everyone thinks they know them, but they can only be known via their absence, and even then, not truly. It was always going to end with the leaving, the haunting. Was it the choices Jenny made that were inevitable. The way the world around her reacts to them. How can she be a warrior, a thief, a pirate, and still open up her house this way. How many different versions of the story are there, how many versions of Jenny? Were they all doomed from the start? Do these questions only ever arise in hindsight? Through clouded, conflicting memory?

just watched Fury Road (again) and am loving the juxtaposition between both movies' Silent Protagonist thing. bc Furiosa's silence reads very much like a call of the wild/white fang situation—being passed from oppressor to oppressor, sometimes encountering kindness, but ultimately she must survive by her own internal resolve. while Max's silence is "Buster Keaton Is In The Desert, and Everything Wants To Kill Him! Now this might be because I have issues but is it just me or does Slay The Princess feel like an allegory for a relationship?
#like i dont even mean the actual textual stuff like the two gods loving each other i mean like#while the narrator himself does say that he is not the protagonist at all the voices do in fact count him as one of them and#both the narrator and the voices are described as shattered glass pieces on the floor#and im saying that just to contextualise what im about to say because i feel like the narrator is an echo of someone who was in#a relationship with another person and is trying to 'slay' the memory of this person and defeat death not only literally but#on a metaphorical level (as in the death of a relationship). if you do slay her you destroy her memory and in that way you do not know her#at all nor do you care to#and the routes would be the perspectives held by different parts of you. shes literally a being that changes based on who perceives her#but metaphorically thats just how people work isnt it? relationships are complicated and there is a part of you who sees someone as a razor#and there is a part of you who sees them as a damsel and another who sees them as a god etc etc#its like youre a person who is trying to make sense of the situation and; which is why the construct of the princess is made up of#several vessels called perspectives. you understand the whole of what you think only when you take apart all your perspectives;#and theres a you who isnt you anymore who doesnt want to do this. hes telling you to just destroy it. it was wholly wretched and wholly bad#and it changed which is a crime in itself. theres an echo of you. and theres you; built by this echo because thats how the self works#we are each our own god and we build ourselves. the different voices are like different parts of you#much like the vessels are the equivalent of the voices. theyre the finite confined perspectives; aspects of a whole person#and slaying her in this context would obviously mean literally just destroying the memory and deciding that change and all it brings#is an awful thing. though im not yet sure what the difference between leaving with the whole and between separating yourself#and leaving with just an aspect would be.#thats probably like the only thing thats kinda ruining this interpretation lol#oh and obviously a lot of the routes have like very strong relationship symbolism. specifically a lot of them feel like#scenes from a relationship that is falling apart. for example in the adversary and then the fury when you run away the dialogue#basically mimics a partner running away from a conflict and the other one destroying themselves because of it#witch and the thorn are both heavily Esop-coded and the text itself says that its about two people hurting each other even though they love#each other but both are afraid of the other one and of being vulnerable. thorn is about finding forgiveness in one another#and deciding to be better and love each other despite the hurt youve caused each other due to your problems#etc etc#like am i insane am i mental am i projecting?

watching this clip again and thinking about girlhood and reflection and time and gender roles. like, i see my 7-year old niece, and it's gut-wrenching to watch her be pushed into the same eldest-daughter patterns of performance and forced perfection that i was as a kid, knowing what waits for her and yet not being able to save her.
#as a kid/teen i was forced into perfection -- top grades. constantly performing. constantly being responsible. no fuck ups EVER.#ALWAYS empathetic. always compassionate. always having to regulate my emotions when adults around me exploded in fury.#i could go on. but all this screwed with my self-perception and sense of self-worth + self-esteem for literal DECADES#so it's just absolutely gut-wrenching to see those same patterns played out again and again and again#and i don't know how to fix it#does this make sense? i'm rambling again. it's late and i'm tired but god is girlhood so heavy#disclaimer: i'm approaching this as a white middle class person in the global north so my perception is influenced by those privileges#experiences of girlhood are affected by intersecting identities of race/class/etc. so my pov is very limited in that regard#on girlhood#feminism

For the release of Nintendo’s latest Switch game: “Super Mario Bros. Wonder”, I’d saved this Inktober artwork at the right time being. I have thoughts of planning to get that game for how it came out. With the animation visuals to having elephant transformations for Mario and friends. Not to say it will happened today or later, but something to added of my new wishlist.
So anyways for the 20th Inktober post, looks like Monty Mole and Skedaddler are running for their lives. The storm came in as Bowser losing control throughout the place! Talk about making it all “fury” in the title alone.
Got this idea from “Bowser’s Fury”when watching some playthroughs on YouTube. Though not bad when drawing Bowser scarier in flames. 👌

For anyone keeping track (no one), I have started watching the first Avengers film (MCU not the 60s TV show) but only while eating lunch so it's gonna take a while. So far Nick Fury has been assembling the Avengers (the film was initially released in the UK as Avengers Assemble - because of that 60s TV show - but it's not called that on D+ so I'm calling it what the Americans called it, just FYI) even though there's not yet anything for them to avenge as That Suit Guy (j/k I know his name too!!) isn't dead yet, and now they're on THE FUCKING VALIANT FROM DR WHO and I assume we're gonna continue assembling for a while as they're not all there yet.
MEANWHILE Loki (who is neither an alligator nor a woman in this???) is in a SECRET UNDERGROUND LAIR with a bunch of his stans who are... idk something technobabble that involves irridium and anti-protons. He is there looking for the tesseract on behalf of ???? who I know will be revealed 47 films from now as... no, wait, it wasn't, was it? That was just announced on a website or something? So it could be LITERALLY ANYONE. The Avengers (in-progress) also seem to be after that thing, but I have already forgotten why everyone is wanting it, assuming it was mentioned (it probably was).
Thor hasn't shown up yet, but Arrows Hawkeye is working as a Loki Stan and there's Steve Rogers and THE HULK and The Only Woman One, whose power is that she's a Cold War assassin (??) and I think this one is the film where she gets called a cunt (!) and honestly I am not sure which of the men she's getting officially shipped with, I think Arrows Hawkeye though? Fairly sure, as the alternative is that a man and a woman like each other as people but not in a lusty way, which would never happen obviously. (Hey I may ship mostly het* pairings but I don't always like it!)
Based on the Valiant (if u don't know who she is get da hell out of here!) I am guessing that the film ends with Loki dying in Thor's arms romantically but then I remembered that I know it can't because one of Loki got kidnapped from... either the end of this film or the start of the next one or POSSIBLY just from a later film's time-travel bit (???) but like... maybe they've edited this film secretly and I was right after all? But nobody else has watched it on Disney + recently so nobody knows yet? IT COULD HAPPEN.
Not sure what to make of this film so far, a lot's been going on yet also not much has been going on, and the one I like best so far (Suit Guy) is gonna die (NOT EVEN IN THOR'S ARMS ROMANTICALLY) and god Iron Man really hasn't aged well now that we have that one tech billionaire being a twat in public all the time to remind us what such people tend to be like. WHERE IS THOR????
*I say het but everyone in everything is bisexual, I know this because I thought of it and announced it on tumblr and will now say "I don't make the rules" to make it an objective FACT. I don't make the rules!!!
