There are four possibilities for the people chanting “globalize the intifada” and “intifada everywhere” and none of them are any good.
They don’t care that they’re calling for mass terrorist violence and deaths because they don’t care who lives or dies. (The nihilist option.)
They assume that anyone who’d be killed in such violence deserves it and haven’t considered that it could easily be someone they claim to care about. (The true terrorist option.)
They’re willing to sacrifice the people they care about for “the movement.” (The true terrorist plus volunteering others for martyrdom option.)
They’re happy to chant whatever the loudest person tells them to, and they have no idea what the intifada even is. (The ignorant lemming option.)
Look, even if this doesn’t work out, even if we don’t get renewed/picked up, even if all we get out of this is getting noticed and tarnishing Max’s already shitty rep, at least the cast and crew see how much we care.
But also, at least it connected us. There’s so many people who were inactive in fandom, just lurking around coming out to try and save it. There’s celebs noticing us, articles written. We came together and shared our fave fanart and fave moments and connected over something we loved so hard Max’s social media people are probably on the verge of exhaustion right now.
Idk it’s just beautiful to see everyone, even ppl who weren’t the most ecstatic about some choices in s2, come together and fight so hard for something that made them feel happy and made the feel seen. Even if we don’t get more content, it was not for nothing
Not that I've ever thought the live-action Netflix Avatar show was going to be good, but...
I do think people are blowing a lot of this out of proportion. Again, this is an adaptation, not a 1:1 translation. There's going to be a lot of differences. There's a whole lot of "Oh, they RUINED IT!" going around, and the show's not dropping for another three weeks.
It's all just a question of how effectively they're going to streamline it, and whether the character arcs and actions are going to make sense.
i wonder how many people meet Arthur Lester and just assume he's autistic because Arthur is allergic to telling people he's blind and John clearly has no clue how to hold eye contact and so nine times out of ten I bet Arthur starts casually chatting to someone all while looking around in every direction like a chameleon to the point where people are like yeah fella's just nervous with eye contact. real and true
edit: yes y'all i know nobody was getting autism diagnosed in 1934 but what i Mean is that people are likely still reading him as disabled in some way, whether that's bad at eye contact/ unfocused eye disorder/something of that ilk
It may be silly to get excited over like 2 seconds of animation in a 6 second clip, but IDC I cannot believe I got spy to shake out his cigarette that smoothly and it was actually fun to do. Funner than it usually is. I can't believe I ever forsook you Graph Editor, I used to be so barbaric. Like he actually followed the keyframes I put instead of doing his own thing and dismembering himself into thin pieces without me having to wrangle him. Actual pose-to-pose and not solely relying on the mental images blasted into my eyelids is FIRE
I used to only love lipsync a lot but now I kind of want to animate a lot of movement!! But I can't most of the plan is to have spy and sniper looking angstily at each other over the bassline, oh the horrors! Whatever it's fine, until I have to do lighting which will be the true horror
people seem to hard disagree with me on whether or not isaac's smile is cute. not only do i think its unnerving, i think that its a crucial aspect of isaac. in the first club auspex (which, btw, i was combing through for pictures of alex smiling and both him and aabria are v cute there), alex said that he likes vampires because they "look human but are the farthest thing from it". compare alex's regular, non-vampiric, smile to isaac's
isaac is a predator wearing the skin of his prey. full stop. in his solo scene, he smiles a lot less when its just michael and angela, because they know its 80% a performance. as a tzimisce, he has to work overtime to make other kindred comfortable around him. he looks like he googled "normal smiles for non-threatening people" and practiced them in the mirror
outside of labn and nybn, alex is a creature actor in the horror genre. there is no fucking way that the massive difference between his regular smile and isaac's isnt on purpose
