Anthony - While courting her sister, Anthony panics when Kate is stung by a bee, proceeds to attempt to suck out the poison from her clavicle, and is caught by their mothers and Lady Featherington. Lady F says they'll have to marry and Anthony announces they'll be married next week. No proposal, Kate is never consulted. Anthony then ravishes her in the gazebo. 10/10. Complete Chaos.

Benedict - After repeatedly propositioning Sophie to be his live-in mistress, Benedict finds out she has been arrested for theft, shows up at the jail, punches the warden, and demands to know why his fiancé is being held prisoner. No proposal. Lady B almost punches Sophie's evil stepmother. 12/10. Utter Chaos.

Colin - Like a day after realizing that he finds Penelope incredibly attractive, Colin chases her through London, discovers she's Lady Whistledown, throws her in his carriage, lectures her, ravishes her, then they arrive back at her house and he hops out of the carriage and says, "well are you going to marry me or not?" Technically a proposal. 7/10. Chaos compounded by Lady F somehow thinking he's proposing to Pen's little sister.

Daphne - Daphne disrupts a duel for her honor, punches Simon in the eye, and insists he marry her because their garden makeout session was seen. Simon say he cannot have children, omitting that it's a personal choice and not a medical condition, and Daphne says good to know not a problem we're doing this. No real proposal. No one's happy with the outcome. Pistols and bickering big brothers in attendance for added chaos. 8/10

Eloise - Phillip proposes in a letter before they ever meet, failing to mention he has two children. Eloise packs a bag and leaves for his house without telling anyone. Phillip is shocked to discover her on his doorstep. The brothers are forced to ride after to her to defend her honor. Eloise doesn't understand why everyone's making such a fuss. Colin grumbles he's meant to be on his honeymoon. Beautiful Eloise-brand chaos abounds. 7/10

Francesca - Michael pines for a decade. He proposes. Franny says no. They have sex. He proposes. She says maybe. They have more sex. He nearly dies of malaria. Eventually they get married. By any other family's standards, it would be legendary chaos, but we're talking about the Bridgertons. 5/10

Gregory - HOO BOY. Gregory proposes/propositions Lucy despite her being engaged to someone else. She agrees but then is threatened by her treasonous uncle and goes through with the original marriage. Gregory interrupts the wedding. Lucy turns him down in front of the whole Ton. At the reception Gregory kidnaps her, then gets into a shootout with her uncle. Her now-husband agrees to annul the marriage. Absolute freaking chaos. No notes. 27/10

Hyacinth - Despite midnight rendezvous, breaking and entering, and a treasure hunt, Hyancinth's proposal is shockingly normal. Gareth formally asks Anthony's permission, then gets down on one knee and proposes properly. 2/10. Mildly disappointing, considering H's chaotic personality.

(I picked the 5 that I have open currently - there are so many more than 5 rattling around at all times, and i try not to start publishing any that aren't already outlined beginning to end)

Boulangerella - a fairy tale/cinderella story full of love square shenanigans, blood sacrifices, and scheming villains

Butterfly Effect - Adrien as Hawkmoth/Shadowmoth AU; Marinette and Chloe hold the ladybug and cat miraculous - songfic with butterfly effect by FJØRA

Expectations - Kwami Swap AU where Adrien is Mister Bug from the beginning; he's dealing with the anxiety of his role (and the knowledge that he handed his earrings over to hawk moth in another timeline and has no idea why)

After the War (place holder title) - a 1920s post-WWI AU, where Marinette runs her parents' bakery by day and a club by night; the club is a cover to take down war-profiteer Gabriel Agreste through vigilante action; Adrien has just returned to Paris from his time abroad in London, and Marinette has to wrestle with her childhood crush on him and her now grown-up hatred for his family

Time Lady of Creation (place holder title) - A Time Lord AU - I will say little else about it because it's still in the outline stages with only a few scraps of scenes drafted

UPCOMING SECTIONS

The next chapter is full of A LOT of confrontations and hard conversations - Marinette & Luka (the original conversation has been written but it needs to be redrafted to a new context); Felix and Lila (again, a lot of their stuff is written but needs to be redrafted); and Marinette & Chat Noir (not drafted yet - fragments abound in notes but need to be tied together)

Adrien has to figure out how to get his hands on the Cat and Ladybug Miraculouses so that he can save Marinette from a terrible fate

Marinette needs to help Adrien face Miracle Queen - I'm excited about the Cat/Dragon and Bug/Snake renditions of their powers for this AU, but this fic just kept getting comments that were like "it's not even that different from canon" and so I no longer care too much about this fic - I'm just irritated because I wrote the ending already and i LOVE the ending but I can't post the ending without writing the middle

The next scene I need to write is a confrontation between Ladybug and Adrien Agreste, where he doesn't realize how much she hates him and she has no idea how much he's madly in love with her

Right now it's mostly an outline, so I need to write the beginning, where Ladybug saves Adrien from a wax museum come to life then asks him to run away with her through time and space!

I feel like baby Tristan and Percival would hate bath time. And actively try to escape and run away. Causing a LONG chase through the castle. Bath time is a CHORE with the brothers and their kids. Since Tristan and Percy have so much energy, they have no problem running for a few hours.

The soapy water spilled on the floor makes for a death trap for the brothers. Gelda and Elizabeth just hear Meliodas screaming at Tristan to come back, before a loud cry of alarm, followed by a crash. They peek around the corner, seeing Meliodas face-down on the ground. "Got away from you again, huh?" "Shut up, Elizabeth."

Gods help the brothers when both of their sons take a bath at the same time. Absolute chaos abound. Trails of soapy water all along the castle floors. Zeldris and Meliodas constantly struggle to keep their balance as they slip and slide all over the ground. Sometimes even losing their balance and falling. All the while Percy or Tristan giggles at the sight, before zooming away again.

It's an amusing sight for the castle staff and their lovers. Finally, when Percy and Tristan's mothers tell them to get back in the tub, they listen. Much to their lovers' immense agitation.

"Why don't you bathe them? They clearly listen to you."

"It's funny watching you both chase after them fruitlessly for hours. Entertainment at its finest."

And the brothers could use their magic to catch their sons, but they'd prefer not to.

The impossible color theory that does not actually exist except in my head:

Tien and Tai switched colors when the divorce happened. Tien is actually a loyal blue person and Tai is a yellow oddity but because he couldn't cope with the divorce he became painfully loyal to his father's hurt rather than his own passion and Tien took on his chaos to try to keep the balance between them and out of love for his older brother. Now it's been two years and they've both changed and taken on more characteristics both of their original colors and of their 'borrowed/blurred' colors... but, at heart, Tai is a creative oddity and Tien is loyal and true.

(stealing coloring the words from @respectthepetty because it is definitely helping me remember wtf I'm typing.)

BUT I wanna add in the idea of Lomfon hiding his colors and possibly being a green boy in all this mess of these two brothers and how Patt being loyal blue might also factors into this.

Lomfon being a combination of their colors is interesting but if they're also a combination of their colors it only makes it more confusing. We know that Lomfon is, at the moment, more in love with Tai than Tien. We also know that he might be able to hear the rainverse voices that Patt and Tai use to talk. He is the only person so far to outright state that he doesn't believe that the hearing disease has anything to do with actual soulmates and he's clearly more than a little in love with Tai (this leads me to so many questions including the idea that if he can hear Tai in the rain like Patt can who cares Tai hasn't spoken in two years!!! but that's okay we'll find out more later...)

But anyway.

Lomfon is currently dressed mostly, if not entirely, in white and has really only been out of white in very few scenes in the show. The question is... is white his color or is white a blank slate he's using to hide his color and I absolutely think he's hiding his color because he's in love with Tai but needs to know how much Tai believes in soulmates and the hearing disease before he tries to make a move.

Now, is his color green? It'd make sense, honestly, for him to be green to be between the two brothers (@amos-reviews-main suggested this in a comment and I love it) but also because he just... he doesn't fit white as a color, he's not that... he might end up a more ill-defined color since he's going to be complicated and to create complications so he might never be straightforward but I don't think he's just white.

But, honestly, he's still a mystery to me. As is his end, honestly, because the way he fits between Tai and Tien and even Patt suggests a very odd place for him and lots of complications abound especially for Tien...

Look, I don't normally talk about color. Don't... don't expect this often from me. But this show entrances me and I love them so much and just... all of them. My beloveds. My boys. Especially Tien. And Lomfon is going to absolutely break his heart into teeny, tiny pieces and hopefully put it together again eventually...

HermitCraft, a magical and wondrous world in the greater MineCraft server hub. Every day has new adventures, new shenanigans and a strange series of riddles here and there. Quests are abound; are you ready to join the party?

Series Involved: HermitCraft, Evo SMP, Empires SMP & The Life SMP mixed with LoliRock, Miraculous, les Aventures de Ladybug et Chat Noir, Mysticons & Winx Club.

"Hermit Heroes" is a multi-fandom idea that combines the above SMPs together with lore and concepts from the above TV shows to make this absolute monstrosity of an alternative universe. I...really don't have a better explanation outside of "I like these shows and I got too into combining them together" so...enjoy I guess.

Anyway, onto the actual thing. It primarily takes place in the HermitCraft world (a big combo of all seasons worlds into one big thing) with guest appearances by other folks of other SMPs here and there, and sometimes even going to those SMPs. The lore of Empires is heavily intertwined alongside Evo's lore to make this very magical-girl-superhero-action plot of different groups working to achieve a goal. The big thing though is the Watchers, the Listeners and the species that makes them as they place a giant role in the story like some season-long villain.

Now, to the best part, the characters. These are just the mains for now and they're aren't super detailed at the moment as I'm still working out all of the notes and information gathering needed. And a thing to note, I grouped all of the main characters up to keep track of them easier. I find that large casts are OK so long as they're digestible and easy to remember with manageable groups and such.

The groups and the show they're from are as follows: The Yes Wings Club & The No Wings Club (Winx Club), Ephedian Empresses (LoliRock), Hermit Heroes/Miraculous Mob Wranglers (Miraculous Ladybug) and Three Musketeers (Mysticons).

The Yes Wings Club & The No Wings Club

Grian: Grian's apart of 3 different groups: The Yes Wings Club, the No Wings Club and the Hermit Heroes/Miraculous Mob Wranglers. He is the Witch of Chaos, Fairy of the Ardent Sun and the hero Red Rooster a.k.a Poultry Man the hero of Entropy. He's also a Watcher named Xelqua, but that's not important...right? Grian is someone unable to be bound to one thing, always many things at once and watching what madness may occur from his multitude of powers.

Cleo (ZombieCleo) & Etho (EthosLab): The two other members of the No Wings Club (no Iskall, sorry. I know he's the actual founder but he doesn't really work in this version of the group. He has his own thing). Their name, besides being a play on the Yes Wings Club and the actual No Wings Club, also works to describe them because witches don't have wings and don't need them to fly, whereas fairies do.

Cleo is the Witch of Puppetry, able to manipulate both inanimate and animate to people's...delight.

Etho is the Witch of Mystery with darkness, deception, trickery and stealth as his domain.

Impulse (ImpulseSV), Wels (Welsknight), Pearl (PearlescentMoon), Scar (GoodTimesWithScar), Tango (TangoTek) & Jimmy (SolidarityGaming): The many members of the Yes Wings Club with the canon founding members and my own personal additions. These people (and eventually Jimmy) make up the Yes Wings Club, with their sparkly fairy wings (natch, given the name) and sparkly outfits.

Impulse is the Fairy of Lightning, able to harness the power of electricity to shock his foes and fly through the sky; just don't high-five him when he lands.

Wels is the Fairy of Metal, defending his friends with the power of sword, shield and steel beams flying at you.

Pearl is the Fairy of the Gleaming Moon (Pearl, Fairy of the Pearlescent Moon just doesn't sound right sadly, and all other synonyms were too long) and can use the powers of the moon itself such as light, reflection, truesight and moon big; watch out for gravity.

Scar is the Fairy of Nature (or Landscaping, or some other word if I can find one that fits) and with the power of his fairy animal Jellie, he can teraform any enemies back where they belong, or accidentally unleash Scarra again.

Newest fairy on the block is Tango, Fairy of Redstone, flying through battle with pulses, power or he'll just yeet a massive pile of dust in your face, whichever works (he's the team's Tecna basically).

And then there's Jimmy, a later addition down the line who finds himself to be the Fairy of Animals...and maybe something more.

Ephedian Empresses

Gem (GeminiTay) & Stress (StressMonster101): Two princesses searching for their third, each hailing from a series of kingdoms that once were a part of the grand empire of Ephedia, thousands of years ago.

Gem, the princess of Dawn and master slayer with her lovely demeanor and lovelier head collection of every foe who's ever threatened her friends, family and subjects.

Stress, the princess of Allimonstrum is all for getting gorgeous and getting together with friends, being a bubbly and outgoing friend to all or a monstrous nightmare of pure power to all who oppose her.

Hermit Heroes/Miraculous Mob Wranglers

Doc (Docm77) & Zedaph: The animal hero and "anti-hero" of the server, the Hermit Heroes are here to wrangle mobs in a miraculous manner or save the day.

Zedaph, a.k.a. Worm Man is the hero of Renovation with his Kwami "Aannee", able to dig through the Earth and save the city with his shovel and the art of confusion fu.

Doc a.k.a. Ziegrün is the hero-sometimes-villain of Empowerment with his Kwami "Kapper" and trusty goat horn, capable of empowering as many creatures as Doc sees fit whether it be to mess with some Hermits, help a hero out or akumatize a particularly upset Hermit into causing chaos, though Doc swears that he would never do such a thing.

Three Musketeers

False (FalseSymmetry from HermitCraft), Sausage (MythicalSausage from Empires) & fWhip (from Empires): The trio of Mysticons searching for their Ranger, this band of heroes have sworn to protect the Empires of new and old, as well as a certain land of hermits from danger.

False is the Mysticon Knight, always searching for her fellow team members with a broken Dragon Disc and no Codex in sight, but even with all the trials and tribulations, the queen of heads, hearts and body parts refuses to fall to darkness.

Sausage is the Mysticon Dragon Mage, also searching for a certain knight to aid in the quest for the Codex and the magic stolen from his history by more than just an angry king.

fWhip is the Mysticon Striker, a goblin who saw three gold rings one day, went "mine!" and nominated himself Striker, though the Disc did vouch for him so he thankfully got to stay.

To Wong Foo represents an imagining of the multiracial buddy movie interested largely in the compartmentalization of identity categories with a concerted interest in gender and sexuality and a resistance to intersectional understandings of identity categories. The main characters being White, Black, and Latino is a fact the film acknowledges with the cinematic ideal of a post-racial U.S.--most importantly, To Wong Foo reminds us, the girls are drag queens, and their racial positionality comes second. The hierarchical ordering of their internal differential social orders that imbue their embodiment firstly with sexuality and gender rather than race comments on the film’s attempt to make a film by and for queer people in response to the growing conservative fear of a departure from traditional values and attempts to largely overwrite race.

My inspiration for the script came from watching the religious right videotape The Gay Agenda. There’s a scene where they show drag queens going through a town, and the narrator is warning viewers that these people will take over your town, and I thought, ‘Well, that would be fun.’

In, “The Black Image in Protective Custody: Hollywood's Biracial Buddy Films of the Eighties,” Guerrero explains that black people “appear on the screen in the 1980s predominantly in the biracial ‘buddy formula,’ which reveals all the strategies by which the industry contains and controls the black filmic image and conforms it to white expectations.” Noxeema, the film’s main Black character played by Wesley Snipes quips about Blackness and her status in this small town is effectively placed in the protective custody of whiteness, severed from the Black community surrounded entirely by non-Black people and at an increased risk of violence in this small town. She at one point jokes that "the last Black person to stay [in this town] was Sam Cooke," a prolific Black soul artist who was famously murdered in a motel.

The racial tensions in the movie are tonally consistent with the film's self-aware insistence on its own levity, poking fun at itself and acknowledging racial and gender regimes, but ultimately suggesting they can be overcome.

Vida: Noxeema Jackson! I have to admit that I am shocked and just a little bit saddened by you. I mean you of all people. Hon, I remember the first time I laid eyes on a certain ebony enchantress in the rough, and how through styling and the occasional makeup tip I helped her look a little bit less like Moms Mabley. And who would think that ebony enchantress would one day share a title with moi.

In an atmosphere where whiteness is presented as the absolute authority, the exchange fails to fully present itself as an examination as racism among people of color and ultimately portrays Vida, who is white, as the gatekeeper of Noxeema's successful identity as a drag queen.

To Wong Foo, ultimately, is optimistic about the possibilities for a multiracial, post-gender regime world--it imagines a world where drag queens take over the town and racial tensions can be assuaged with the power of friendship. It mostly neutralizes race as a factor in the marginalization of the girls, and its depiction of state violence at the hands of an idiotic, bumbling sheriff who is scared of change holds a mirror to conservatism and distorts it like a fun house in return.

Anon, you have given me an impossible task in describing the person who Gizmodo termed the "Unexpectedly Sexy Evil Crimes House of the Dragon Hottie" (that article has spoilers, don't click). The reason this task is impossible is because nobody can agree on who Daemon Targaryen is. Considering the below is his defining intro paragraph in the book from which he originates, that is somewhat understandable:

Over the centuries, House Targaryen has produced both great men and monsters. Prince Daemon was both. In his day there was not a man so admired, so beloved, and so reviled in all Westeros. He was made of light and darkness in equal parts. To some he was a hero, to others the blackest of villains. (George R. R. Martin, Fire and Blood)

I reblogged my Why People Like Daemon Targaryen graphic earlier for you as a helpful visual aid, but the truth is that "Explain Daemon" has been tearing apart the Internet for about twelve weeks at this point. Let's take something very simple: what drives him? Some people would say he's fatally ambitious. Others would say he's motivated by a kind of backwards love for his family, or by spite. Matt Smith told the LA Times that Daemon is an agent of chaos who thrives on disorder. Many other questions abound! Is he a good dad or a bad dad? Did he groom his teenage niece? (Sorry, remember, Game of Thrones.) Can he ever be trusted? Does he love anyone outside of himself? Has he actually never done anything wrong in his whole life?

Maybe all of these questions get at the heart of why people like Daemon: importantly, he is not boring. The greatest sin any fictional character can commit is boring you, and Matt Smith is in those silly wigs absolutely gnawing on the scenery to ensure you will never be bored. Daemon is a delight to watch and I sincerely enjoy almost everything about him. It is my hope that you will too!

this one was a dream-related idea i had, and it turned into danny and maddie working through the early stages of post-phantom-reveal relationship. it's one of my absolute favorites, and the title is from le petit prince, which is one of my all time favorite stories.

Summary:

Danny is still adjusting to his parents knowing his identity after the Disasteroid. It's...going. It's only been a few days, after all. But when Sam and Tucker go away on an academic convention trip, Danny's left completely alone for the first time since the accident and things do not go well. Danny does not cope well, and like usual, doesn't ask for help. Maddie finds him losing a fight he shouldn't be, but when she tries to help, she accidentally makes things worse and finds out just how bad things are for her son. She doesn't know a lot about all of this halfa business, but she does know that she loves her son. That has to count for something.

ohhhhhh i love this one. it's probably one of my first mateo-centric fics, and i wrote it while i had covid (lying on the floor, trying not to die, i wrote 4k and it was actually comprehensible) because i needed ghost light softness in my life. it's some early stuff as i wanted to flesh out their relationship a bit more. title is kudos to death, ironically lmao

this is a companion to "it's just another day without you (and i can't sleep)" but more zoomed in. another mateo centric fic that gives us a look into his pov during their week apart, and also gives us a peek at his family dynamic pre-this is the road to ruin. it wasn't SUPPOSED to be 5k, but i was having too much fun to stop. i love mateo with all my heart and i will continue to subject everyone to him until the itch has ceased

this is one of the earliest fics i came up with for this series. it changed A LOT. this is where danny and mateo's first kiss was supposed to happen, but the boys got out of control and that happened a fic or two ahead of time, so that changed the tone a bit. instead of it being so charged, it just became SOFT. it will forever hold a special place in my heart

Summary:

The terrible hunted feeling hasn't left Danny in weeks. Midterms are approaching, and the stress has finally caught up to him. A terrifying nightmare wakes him from his unrestful sleep, startling Mateo awake too. When Mateo asks if he's alright, Danny actually opens up instead of hiding away like normal.

started as an ectober prompt that grew......wildly out of control. danny and teo go home to amity park for thanksgiving and shenangians ensue. it has lots of soft and cute relationship stuff that actually set me up for ANOTHER favorite of mine that ALSO grew wildly out of control

Summary:

Thanksgiving break is quickly approaching, and Danny really wants to make good on his promise to Mateo. So he invites him home for the holiday. It'll be the perfect opportunity to make up for the weekend he spent stuck in the Fenton house while Danny kinda-sorta almost died again. But, like everything else in his life, Amity Parkers don't plan on making that attainable for him, his friends and family included.

this is the road to ruin (and we started at the end)

honorable mention HAS to go to last year's invisobang. this is the end of the original pieces i had planned for the series, and it wasn't necessarily supposed to be the end, but up until posting it, that was all that i had originally plotted. a year's worth of work led me to that, and i could NOT be prouder of it. i've reread it quite a bit because i'm just. in love. maybe that's a little conceited, but i put SO MUCH effort into it, so i like to enjoy it from time to time.

Summary:

What goes up, must come down. Danny is forced to come down hard when Clockwork arrives with news he never wanted to hear. Now Mateo and their friends are in danger, and Danny has to be the one to figure out how to protect them all on his own. Mateo wants to help, but Danny's being too stubborn and ghostly to even think about accepting it. Tension between them grows as the new threat stalks closer, and Danny is forced to make a decision he's never wanted to make: kill or be killed.

my resistance was once much stronger (i can't go on like this much longer)

the follow up to "this is the road to ruin" in what was only supposed to be 10k max and ended up being just over 50k instead. it changed A LOT over the course of writing it, because i did a lot of character study in it. i will always love danny and mateo growing closer, even when they fight and don't communicate clearly

actually, the entire "road to ruin" arc up until "heaven's grief brings hell's reign" is my favorite. all of it. i'm just SO fucking proud of it.

Summary:

Danny's home for winter break, and that's all he wants: a break. But after a breakdown in front of his mom, and with the help of a certain meddling older sister, Danny reveals to his family what exactly has been happening while he was away at Berkeley. He hopes for some space from Mateo, because it'll make leaving easier in the long run, but one poorly timed phone call snowballs into Maddie inviting Mateo to stay with them for Christmas and Truce. Danny can't say no without revealing exactly why he doesn't want his boyfriend coming to spend the holidays with him, so he accepts. Now he has to balance his complicated jumble of feelings with Mateo being so close and so hard to ignore. So much for a break.

They definitely don't notice when things take a dark turn and a few new scars crop up. When they fail to get the portal up and running, it's like their children don't exist at all. Everything that had been building in Danny over the last two years finally snaps. Stepping into the portal with blood dripping down his hand had been an accident. The cutting part had been easy, but as the faint whine of a machine powering up reached his ears, he realized regretting all of it was so fucked.

The Leverage team has been tasked with retrieving an ancient Egyptian artefact from a small, Midwest museum. Easy job, won't take more than a Sunday afternoon to complete, and then they'll have more than enough cash and the favor of the Egyptian government on their side. But Amity Park is not your average Midwestern town, and they accidentally crash another team's heist and find themselves out of their depth very quickly.

Upcoming Writing

1. I've been incredibly sick for the last few weeks, so my goal to get chapter four out by the end of February likely will not happen, but I am so excited for this chapter. We're getting into Nyra's POV here, and diving deeper into Winter Court dynamics and her feelings on everything that happened. Her internal monologue has consistently made me laugh while writing, she's hilarious lol.

2. Sermon has been my white whale since 2017 lmao. I took two years (!!!) off because it stressed me out so much just staring at that document, plus everything else going on in my life. But I'm determined to finish it!! and now that actual plot is happening and all the exposition is over, I think that will be a lot easier. I love my lil babies cannot wait to finish their stories lmao.

3. So this one came to me once the Teen Wolf movie came out and uh....I had some issues with it. Namely how this entire series treated Derek. But I also was really interested in the idea of Derek being a parent, and all the questions around that - like who was Eli's mother? Where is she? What would rebuilding a werewolf pack like the Hales *look* like? I delved into it and sadly never found anything concrete enough to plan around, but I may rewatch the series again to get some inspo if there's enough interest.

4. Okay, so yes, I haven't even finished ACOSAS yet, why am I thinking about a sequel lol. Honestly, I just got really interested in what the Inner Court's children would be like, and quickly found myself pulled under lol. A Court of Song and Flame focuses on [SPOILER] Azriel and Nyra's daughter, Aella, and her relationship with a certain son of an Autumn Court Prince. It sort of turned into a buddy cop/romcom/mystery and I really, really love the idea. Just gotta finish ACOSAS!!!

5. I. Love. The. Reacher. TV Show!!! I found the first season so fun and compelling, and just absolutely fell in love with Roscoe. I had this idea of "what if, after leaving Margrave, one day a blonde teenager comes calling to find a father her mother only had stories of. Chaos ensues. I only have the first threads of it but I hope to expand it later.

anyway, here’s various hq characters’ go-to pranks, in no particular order:

tanaka: releases pigeons into the office of whichever staff member most recently pissed him off. last year, it was the teacher that was actively creeping kiyoko out, because tanaka found her mid-panic attack shortly before winter break. nothing had actually happened yet, just Bad Vibes(tm), so tanaka took matters into his own hands. (after clearing it with kiyoko, of course, and kiyoko approved) where does he get the pigeons? no one knows. who is his next target? rumor has it it isn’t a staff member at all, but a fellow student. rumor also has it that this student is a tall, blond first year with a sour attitude who mocked tanaka’s pigeon attack mercilessly when he heard about it. but that’s just rumor ;)

yachi: she bakes oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. she tells people they are oatmeal raisin cookies. they eat them anyway when she offers, because no one can say no to yachi. they are shocked when they’re chocolate chip cookies. she is an evil mastermind and should be feared.

daichi: lets hinata and kageyama run practice. no one is ever the same again. daichi has no regrets.

takeda: he is absolutely the teacher that gives out tests of Very Silly instructions and says this is worth a large chunk of the final grade. kageyama falls for this Every Time. tsukishima fell for it once. this does not stop kageyama from bringing it up at every opportunity.

ukai: wears the most intense (obnoxious) outfit he can. last year, he went death metal goth, but he mostly only scared his parents. this year, rumor has it he was browsing clown costumes. there is a 99.99% chance that none of the team will recognize him - he goes hardcore with costumes.

kuroo: writes all of his texts in periodic table chemicals. as if, if he was trying to say “see you later”, he’d write “copper lanthanum tellurium argon” (Cu La Te Ar). everyone hates this. no one responds to his texts. the joy he gets out of it is disproportionate.

oikawa: speaks only in terrible pick-up lines. will not stop, even if iwaizumi tries to suffocate him.

matsukawa: only speaks in riddles.

hanamaki: only speaks in rhymes.

miya twins: swap hair colors. no one is fooled.

sugawara: swaps schools with his identical twin sister. pretends he’s her, and she pretends she’s him. confusion abound. she does successfully gaslight daichi and asahi. she does not successfully gaslight kiyoko, but sugawara still considers it a success.

ushijima: pretends he doesn’t like volleyball anymore. this prank fails, because all of shiratorizawa is so concerned that they actually call an ambulance. no one is laughing. ushijima is a little disappointed. tendou promises he’ll help him put together a better prank next year.

kiyoko: puts on red eye contacts. not everyone notices, but the people who do? Shook.

hinata: skips practice to show up at nekoma and surprise kenma. kenma is not as surprised as hinata would have liked, but he does invite him to join in on nekoma’s practice, so hinata still gets his volleyball fix.

kyoutani: flirts back when oikawa says a pick-up line to him. three dead, twelve injured. kunimi, the only teammate to have received a warning, catches oikawa’s reaction on camera. it is beautiful.

nishinoya: rides on asahi’s shoulders, wearing a truly massive trench coat. he spends the entire day giggling, and the teachers let him have his fun. they only almost die on the stairs twice.

bokuto: doesn’t understand the concept of a prank. buys people SO much candy and gives it to them, wanting/expecting nothing in return. everyone loves bokuto’s pranks.

tendou: puts salt in his teammates’ water-bottles. shirabu almost clocked him - the only reason the hit didn’t connect is that semi kicked tendou’s legs out from under him before it could, sending him crashing to the floor. 

kageyama: doesn’t attempt homicide once all day. hinata is Spooked.

aone: talks all day. date tech: Gobsmacked.

yahaba: steals oikawa’s phone. changes all of the contact names to the most creatively unflattering personal descriptions. example: “iwa-chan <3″ becomes “almost normal man, except for the fact that he has the Worst taste in men” and “makki” becomes “kool-aid man if he didn’t see the sun for a decade”

futakuchi: dresses up like moniwa, wig and makeup to improve facial appearance very much included. koganegawa is so enamored by the idea that he does it too, despite not knowing moniwa very well.

Audrey’s 2022 Favorites

There were so many books I loved in 2022, and it was quite the task to narrow it down. After much pondering, I settled on four books to for my favorites list:
