Getting emotional about Armored Core listening to the 20th anniversary remixes (again) because much as I bitch about what AC6 did to the Armored Core tag on here, I'm glad people are talking about AC again and do encourage people who liked 6 to go back to the older games if you can. From the chunky PS1 games to the bleakness of Silent Line to the bleached out tones of 4, they're legit almost all worth playing, and cover sooo many different vibes

Like each iteration on the feeling of piloting an AC has been different, from the sharp angles of metal violence of the early games to the super-sleek scifi mechs of 4 and For Answer or the rough and tumble walking tanks of V and Verdict Day. And they all harken back to each other despite being separate timelines, like when you see the supermechs of 4 mowing down now obsolete models of the blocky ACs of the PS2 era, or even better when the final boss of Verdict Day is one of those same near magical behemoths from 4 and For Answer and you gotta take it down with your jalopy of a bot. 6 itself is actually a great intro to the PS2 era by mostly connecting back to the originals, with sooo much of the mech aesthetics being a new coat of paint on classic favorites, but with the fast paced combat of 4

Physical Headcanons with Silver, Jamil, and Epel!

Warnings; N/A, i ended up doing quirks and stuff too by accident

SILVER, chronically tired, has faint eye bags and a constant dazed out look, even if he is actually paying attention

He has light freckles all of his body, if you were just passing by him you probably wouldn’t have noticed

The ends of Silvers hair are mostly dead, he keeps meaning to make an appointment bc he doesn’t trust any of Diasomnia to do it(who blames him?)

He is somewhat muscular, training to be a bodyguard will do that to you, but it’s the muscular where you don’t know unless he’s flexing, otherwise he looks soft

Silver has a crooked nose from accidentally busting his nose after falling asleep and falling

He has scratch marks on his fingers and arms from the animals(they don’t mean any harm, they just want cuddles but he doesn’t move)

JAMIL has small scars, bot noticeable if you’re not looking, from being collided into from playing sports

He had gotten a really bad bruise once, accidentally colliding with someone(Ace) while dancing, and sometimes he still gets phantom pains from it

He has habit of chewing on his lip, he can usually catch himself but in private or when no one is looking he doesn’t try, and so his lips look kinda busted sometimes

he has hooded eyelids(which i think is canon but idk so it is now, congrats)

his nails are painted a lot (black or red, usually) because Kalim gets his painted and insists on Jamil getting his done so they match

he’s a chronic bone popper, but Kalim hates it, so he’s constantly flexing his hands

when Jamil’s hair is actually down, it doesn’t take a lot before it’s all weird and curls in a bunch of different places again, hence why he keeps it up

EPEL, being feminine, tries working out with Jack, but he’s one of those people who rarely gets callouses and has to do crap constantly to maintain them,

Epel has light tan lines from said workout sessions too

he has moles! he has a habit of connecting the dots with them, sometimes with marker

He also has a small gap on the front of his teeth, but you prob don’t see it unless he shows you, he’s constantly aware of it though

His hair is thickkkk, you can barely can barely run your hands through it when its not brushed,

Story I’m most proud of: Again, “Jason Todd...Ghostbuster?” has to be the one I’m most proud of because it’s my longest one with almost 50k words and I’m not even half-way through what I have planned!

Funniest: It’s a toss up between “What Do Bees Make?” and “More Than Meets the Eye.”  WDBM? was a crack fic I wrote at midnight because I love the ‘What do bees make? Honey? Yes, Dear?’ gag. MTMTE is also funny because I love writing Karliah just growing increasingly exasperated at the stupid and weird things about Duna (my Dragonborn for the fic).

Saddest: "To Live Another Life,” hands down. I wrote this after a friend mentioned how if you go back to the prison cell you start off in with the Alternate Start Skyrim mod, there’s a skeleton in the bed, kinda implying you had died and were reincarnated into your current character. Legit teared up when I wrote it. (I was also (lovingly) shamed by my friend who beta’d it because I wrote the draft in Comic Sans)

Least Popular: “More Than Meets the Eye,” but I expected it because it’s an OC story. However, I am pleased to see I have some subscribers for it! Also, funny thing to note. One of my friends had actually read this fic before I told them I wrote fanfiction.

Most Cringe-worthy: I try to be proud of what I wrote, so I’m gonna take a page out of wordsofawanderingsoul’s book and go with fics that were out of my comfort zone. “To Live Another Life” was definitely something that was new territory because I had never written second-person POV before. It was a fun exercise, and I’m happy with how it turned out.

“Apollo, I can literally hear the affection in their voices,” Athena deadpanned as she pointed to her ear. “Plus, you still can’t accept the fact that Klavier has been flirting with you since day one, so I'm taking your opinion with a grain of salt right now.”

Favorite Closing line(s): Also from “What Do Bees Make?” Neither of the two men said anything for a few seconds, both content to keep their faces hidden.

“Well, Phoenix, I believe that, as some of my students would say, we’ve been ‘had,’” the Professor sighed.

Phoenix groaned in agreement before he slowly removed his hands from his face.

“Okay, you got us.” He moved back to the couch and grabbed Layton’s hand. “Hershel and I are dating.”

Basic plot summary: Jason settles down in Hell’s Kitchen after his confrontation with Batman ended with his throat getting slit by a batarang and leaving him unable to speak. He ends up meeting Matt Murdock at a church and has an enlightening encounter with the man.
