Peter Wyngarde guest stars as Dr. John Hallam, eminent physician - but also criminal mastermind - in The Champions: The Invisible Man (1.2, ITC, 1968)
#fave spotting#peter wyngarde#jason king#the champions#the invisible man#itc#1968#what's that? no‚ no‚ don't worry#I'm not rewatching the champions... yet...#one of my... shall we say less prudent purchases of recent months was getting my hands on a cheap copy of Network's retro action set#basically a sampler of single itc episodes in shiny HD; the intent was to attract customers to their burgeoning blu ray upgrades of#various itc serials. imprudent bc of course I've seen most of these episodes; i own a lot of them on dvd in fact (and cough some on blu ray#so yes not a wise investment perhaps... but with network gone (forever in our hearts) and their blu ray range finished (with little#chance of any other label picking up the mantle) this was my only chance to see certain things in brilliant high def... maybe highest on#the list was The Champions‚ a series I've always had an inordinate fondness for. it seems unlikely anyone will give it a blu ray release#so here it is‚ the one and only hd ep. sigh. part of me wished they'd gone for another ep tbh; this has never been a favourite‚ with#Richard and Sharron sidelined for most of the episode and a strangely underwhelming ending (the villains just sort of crash their vehicle#through no fault of the champions). but... it does look beautiful... and finally we can appreciate Peter's wonderful wardrobe as it always#deserved to be seen! he's always dressed in such a particular way that I'm half convinced he provided his own clothes for tv work#here he's... well im fairly certain he gets referred to as Dr but he seems more likely to be a surgeon‚ performing sinister operations on#unwitting stooges. his coconspirator is the lovely James Culliford‚ who like Wyngarde was a relatively out gay actor within the biz#i must admit it lends the episode an even deeper frisson of camp knowing the two actors were gay; Hallam and friend Charles do seem#and it makes the line 'Charles‚ use the vibrator!' utterly risible#still it's good fun. oh! and i finally got to see Tremayne's desk in hd! i always knew he had a bundle of crayons in a jar (a bizarre bit#of set dressing that was presumably an afterthought nobody was expected to see); what i didn't know and shiny blu ray revealed was that the#crayons are sitting on top of a bundle of marbles at the bottom of the jar... Tremayne what are you doing with your office time?#eta: half a tag got eaten‚ i meant to say Hallam and Charles seem remarkably close...

Acidfest (18th August 2023,) Carnival Brewery. Action Sampler Flash. Expired Truprint 400.
I managed a few shots at Acidfest that I considered passable. Maybe I will ask the lab to push the next film by half a stop. Or use 500 iso film (I have seen that in some webshops but it does seem to be rare.)

Sometimes I need to remind myself that tumblr is a fringe social network, and is by far not the average. What it is though, is a good sampler of the more extreme, I would say, ideologically swayed. A bit.
The more comments and notes I read from the Free Palestine crowd, the more it gets obvious that these are incapable, useful idiots. Literally, spoonfed couchpotatos at best. Starbucks Boycoyters at worst.
It's like the 00's insecure attention seeking posers, with an amoral, ignorant twist to them.
And they are entirely, ABSOLUTELY useless people.
Some morally rotten such individual wrote me that "Israel deserves what's coming for them, you deserve to die" etc. And it really made me think. What's coming? WHO'S coming? You? You, an unemployed tumblrina? You and what army?
What are you gonna do? Try to kill us all? What's the WORST you can do that wasn't, hasn't been tried already?
Truth is, no one is coming.
You read about this pompous, self indulgent "Palestinian Activism Solidarity ". What the FUCK are you talking about? Where is it? What, SA under IRI at the ICJ?.... Watermelon emojis...? ...Slogans?
The most "affective" actions FreePalestine Movement "achieved" was a few shootings/stabbings/rammings here and there, a hostage situation in Turkey in the name of Palestine (the man was executed on the spot after some negotiations. Turkey, yeah). A few burnt synagogues around the world and a whole lot of terrorized Jews in the Diaspora. Not a single Palestinian benefited. Not in Gaza anyway. To sum it up, what exactly are you gonna do? Blow yourself up in a subway in the name of Palestine? How incredibly unoriginal and unhelpful. Although expected and unsurprisingly fitting to the roots of the movement, I'll give you all that.
No one is coming. A lot of pakapaka from Nassrallah and Co. and a radio silence from the Arab world.
Iran pulled the Houthies out of their boydem only for Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan to reluctantly push the button to down Houthie ammo flying towards Israel. Houthies "asked" of Saudi Arabia to "let them cross over to fight the Zionists", and not only this is a joke, a caravan of sandals-wearing, AK-47 totting, Houthie caravan crossing Saudia to do what exactly? Bite Israeli ankles in Eilat Port? Rather It's an insult, to show that "here see we tried", since Saudis are fighting the Houthies FOR YEARS, it was never an actual option to begin with.
Are you blind? No. One. Is. Coming.
After 75 years of trying to erase Israel from the map, the 7th of October unleashed what could only have happened after Israel had its last straw broken.
Congratulations, you've managed at dehumanizing Israelis to the point that you managed to rob us from one aspect of humanity, even if temporarily: our symphaty.
Not forever, but for a period. And when you did so, you WERE LUCKY, for US were here WITHIN MINUTES, being smart enough to talk Israel out from attacking on the freaking spot. Instead, Israel waited 3 damn weeks. For 3 weeks, Israel called for the evacuation of Gazans from the northern side of Gaza.
Symphaty has an expiration date. The 7th of October 2023 was that date. You backed Israel to a wall, and no slogan will suffice against a nation that KNOWS that its very existence was threatened in a very real, visceral, inhumane, and depraved way.
No one is coming. Not for us, not for the Gazans. The Arab world is waiting to see, when will they wake up with one Iranian proxy less on the map. The truth is, aside from the pakapaka all round the clock, Isrsel was left with "do what you do, we wait" kind of global attitude.
Arab nations don't care about Palestinians. They don't care for the Palestinian Cause. Never had. It was always for show, as a pawn. A distraction. And we know it, very well.
The Palestinians are, and always were, used. They were used to carry on this idea that Israel would disappear from the map. If not by force, then by proxy warfare and terrorism, with time. If not by proxies, then by mass protest and public opinion. But the thing is, reality is a material thing. You need TO DO a thing for it TO HAPPEN. And public opinion rarely holds. And for how it's loud, the Free Palestine Movement is nothing but that: Loud.
As for the undoing of Israel and Bney Israel, well. Many have tried.
And oh boy, did the Arab nations TRIED.
They PAYED for trying.
But that's in the past, largely. Now, the annihilation of Israel and the creation of a Palestine is just a cruel pipe dream, with human prisoners, and an international cheering squad. After all, you can't free something that never existed and couldn't form one coherent ideology that makes sense and strives towards a positive, creation-adjacent activity in 75 years of its yappery. It's just not there. If the ideology surrounds destruction, it can not create. It can only destroy.
You may shout your lungs out and make up all kinds of delusional narratives. In the end, they are just that: empty words to make the righteous self of the woke crowd feel better, to feel active. To be a part.
To be USED.
It says a lot about the sad reality of this mass of people. The yearning for purpose, this loneliness. The rootlessness. Loss of identity. Identities so fractured, so incohesive. Loss of trust in the institution. The shallow knowledge. The practically non-existent reading comprehension.
All are easily diverted to create this cult like behavior.
People cry their eyes out over something that not only they have zero way of affecting but oftentimes is inflated, twisted, and presented as something completely false, or fake or what have you, instead of looking around them and doing something about their own realities. Pouring their hearts out over an unreality, fruitless.
This is either willful ignorance or escapism. Can't even say which one is worse.
This mass is being used. It creates a pool of despair, mysery. Feelings of "not enough", of unachievment. Those masses are breeding grounds for terrorism activity recruitment.
One party, one goal.
Free Palestine is a magic combination of words. You would ask, what is it? And they would sell you, ah, it's this magical place over the rainbow far, far away, and you can be the savior of those people. What a beautiful fantasy. Except you can't save those who did all their best to commit a slow, painstaking suicide, over 75 years. It's unrealistic, whatever this so-called "movement" is yapping about. There are no outlines, no strategy. It's just empty, big, bombastic words, to rile up emotionally as many people as possible, who look for a meaning.
I keep remembering the movie The Wave (2008). It's amazing how word by word, scene by scene, the story is playing out right now with worrying accuracy.
I don't know where this will lead Europe, UK, US, Canada... Australia... you all should be on high alert internally. But one thing is pretty clear.
No one is coming. As for Israel... You did your worst already. You have left Israel with nothing to be afraid of.
BDS biggest achievement was the eventual unemployment of thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank. UN is a joke. Red Cross is a joke. UNRWA exposed, visibly and undeniably. Abraham Accords are proceeding, even if slower, yet still they do. HAMAS gets mopped the floor with. And Lebanon has to do the impossible: drag Hezbollah away from the Isrseli border. Otherwise, there won't be much of a Lebanon to speak about in a very short amount of time. And that's not even a threat. It's reality. As government officials in Lebanon plead with Hezbollah to halt, Israel is ready on the border for 80,000 Israelis are internally displaced within Isrsel itself because of the war with HAMAS, but mainly away from the northern border because of constant shelling by Hezbollah.
And it won't hold forever.
And no one is coming.
Because who will? You and what army?

hi jess! as someone who has never seen a godzilla film, where would you suggest i start to get into the franchise? sorry if this question has been asked a lot, if so then feel free to use this as an excuse to gush about the franchise :3
I think there are some very good places to start with Godzilla. I’m gonna give met recommended starting points here, and then I’ll elaborate under the “view more”
So, my list of Godzilla starting points in no particular order.
Godzilla (2014) - this is a reboot and it’s the beginning of the monsterverse series
Godzilla (1984) - this is a reboot and it’s the beginning of the Hesei era Godzilla series that runs until 1995
Shin Godzilla - a stand alone movie. No sequels to prequels
Godzilla (1954) - it’s the original Godzilla story and it’s good, but I also understand that older movies can be intimidating for newer viewers
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla - Not to be confused with Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla, this millennium era Godzilla movie is part of a self contained duology that I personally really enjoy
Now, I’ll explain why I recommend these as staring points bellow:
Godzilla 2014 and Monsterverse
Godzilla (2014) is probably my favorite place to start new fans of Godzilla, even if it’s not my favorite Godzilla movie.
G2014 is the first movie in the Monsterverse series, and there are still Monsterverse projects coming out today. Godzilla X Kong the New Empire is coming soon, and Monarch season 1 is releasing right now. It’s fun to watch something and be a part of something while it’s new and coming out.
I think you will probably enjoy all of the Monsterverse movies, but pay attention to which one you like the most, because it will act as a good indicator of which Godzilla movies to watch next because the Monsterverse movies do a really good job of capturing the tone and feel of different eras of Godzilla movies. It’s like watching through a sampler platter of the entire franchise. G2014 is a beautifully shot cinematic movie that holds its own when compared to the best Godzilla films, while Godzilla King of the Monsters is an action packed monster melee reminiscent of the Hesei era films. Godzilla vs Kong is a campy monster movie that feels like the Showa era films, and Monarch is shaping up to be an introspective look at society that feels in line with the more recent Godzilla projects (shin Godzilla, Singular point, Minus 1).
The monsterverse franchise feels like a love letter to the entire Godzilla franchise, and it makes it the perfect starting point.
Godzilla 1984, and the Heisei continuity
My favorite Godzilla movies are the ones from the Heisei era. Godzilla 1984 was made as a reboot of the franchise, and it’s the start of a solid continuity that lasts until 1995s Godzilla vs Destoroyah. These movies have incredible practical effects and have aged very very well. There are tons of cool monsters and they are just fun. To me this era of Godzilla movies will always be the best, but I also understand that it’s not for everyone.
Shin Godzilla and the Reiwa era
I like Shin Godzilla a lot. It feels like a new philosophical direction for Godzilla as a franchise, while still being respectful of the series roots, but it’s also a hard movie to talk about without spoiling the film. (Don’t worry no spoilers here). Shin Godzilla and its success opened the door for some very interesting projects (like Godzilla singular point, G vs G, Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla earth). I have mixed feelings about some of the Reiwa era Godzilla projects, but I appreciate that they are taking risks with the franchise.
Godzilla 1954 the original
Obviously the original movie was going to be on this list. I think it’s a movie that everyone should see, but I actually don’t think it needs to be the first movie you see. It’s an excellent starting point but I also understand not being in the mood to watch a 70 year old movie. That being said, when you are in the mood for an older movie, you should watch it.
Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and the millennium era.
After the Heisei Godzilla movies ended they rebooted the franchise again, but instead of starting a new continuity they created a series of stand alone movies that were each in their own continuities. The only exception to this is the two part story of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, and Godzilla Tokyo SOS.
You could watch any of the movies from this era without having seen any other Godzilla films, I just happen to like Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla the best. (Godzilla 2000 is a close second).
These are in my opinion the best places to start, but In actuality you can start anywhere. Even the movies with the most continuity around them are pretty stand alone and self contained, so if none of these movies appeal to you then just find one that looks fun and start there

❝ I got so used to your presence that the mere second you’re gone, it turns my world completely upside down. ❞
Pairing: Leona Kingscholar x Reader
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 775
Warnings: None!
Author Note: Hello hello! This is one of my first fics I’m posting on Tumblr. I’m slightly nervous haha.. But nonetheless this is a sampler for how I write and I hope you enjoy and come back for more! I’ll be posting two more sampler fics in the near future so look forward to it.
Synopsis: Ever since you two have met, you’ve always been around him. But then suddenly one day you don’t greet him as per usual.
Love was never part of the equation of the life that Leona had thought for himself. All he ever wanted was a peaceful life of rest and relaxation. A life away from his repressed emotions, between his school life and the life he had back home. Just a simple life of resting under the beautiful midday rays of sunshine.
One fateful day, as some would put it, you had clumsily tripped over his tail. An unfortunate accident of course, but he still felt the pain no less. His low growl pierced your core as you apologized, hoping that at the very least he'd ask you to just leave him alone. As with your luck, you happened to be running late and in a hurry. As if he were reading your mind, he just sighed and shooed you off like dust on his clothing, albeit he was still quite irritated. Nonetheless he was (mostly) back to his peaceful nap and that was all that mattered to him.
As time went on though, he found himself always running into you. Whether it was in the hallways, maybe some of his classes, trouble with some of his dorm mates, or even just you coming around and saying hi, you were almost always there. It became a regular event at one point. He expected you to show up in one way or another, that was a given to him. But then one day, you just stopped. Never in his life had he felt that sharp pain in his chest, like a needle being put into a pin cushion. This miniscule action has completely flipped his routine upside down. Ruggie was run ragged trying to get Leona out of bed and even more ragged when he was trying every move in the book to make sure Leona didn't stay back again. A heavy sigh escaped his lips as he asked Leona why he was sulking like a depressed housecat. To that, Leona became defensive and stated he just felt more irritated than usual and he didn’t know why, which wasn't out of the norm. Somehow Ruggie knew this was a lie. Whether Leona knew it or not. Being by Leona’s side had given Ruggie a third person perspective onto the things that tend to occur around the lion prince. One of those things was of course, you. He saw you everyday having a little one sided chat with Leona, a simple “hello!” or “how are you?” followed by a “humph”or “buzz off”, to which you always responded with a small chuckle and then a goodbye, and just like that you were on your way to repeat that same thing the very next day. Recently he's noticed you haven't shown your face at all within Leona’s vicinity. Was he upset about you not coming to greet him? How could that be with the way he responded to you? Who really knew. All Ruggie knew was that he HAD to figure out what was going wrong. Otherwise he'd be stuck with a sulking Leona for whoever knows how long.
That very afternoon, with a little digging and intel collection, he had found you. Lately you’ve been bogged down by schoolwork. No wonder you never came by, it seemed excruciating. But his mission was more important than your work. Ruggie approaches you with a casual smile and his hands resting on the back of his head. He tells you that there's an emergency in Savanaclaw and he needed specifically YOUR help. Without much room to argue he takes you to Savanaclaw and then leads you to a sulking Leona. Upon seeing your face however, the ever stoic lion's eyes light up. Though it was extremely hard to notice. You question Ruggie but as soon as you turned around he was gone. Long gone. You awkwardly stood there, fiddling with the sleeves of your NRC uniform jacket. You asked Leona if he was going to say anything, or even tell you what this so-called "emergency" was, but he was silent. His predatory gaze closing in on you. The silence lasted only a few more excruciatingly long seconds until he asks, borderline pouts, why you haven't come to annoy him lately. To which you respond honestly and say that your school work has taken most of your time. He clicks his tongue and states, moreso demands, that if you needed help with the work that he'd begrudgingly help you. Without room to speak he then dismisses you to go get your work and bring it back to his room. As you left, below his breath he mumbled,
"I just missed you, you damn herbivore."

We’re live on Kickstarter!
It’s been one hell of a long road, but we’ve finally got another chance to fund digital and physical copies of the original ttrpg I wrote and produced!
Can a house be haunted even while it burns down?
A not-so-hypothetical question in a world  with Embergeists – spirits so mournful or vindictive that their very  ectoplasm combusts, setting their haunts ablaze. Players enter the scene  as a brigade of Burnaways – mercenaries who must act as fire fighters,  detectives, and ghost hunters to stop the Embergeists by means of force  or empathy.
BURNAWAY is a game about making tough choices in the literal heat of the moment,  and coping with the consequences when the ash has settled. A  near-future retropunk setting and “grimhope” tone puts focus on  narrative growth, contrasted with a unique “level-down” advancement  mechanic in a lightweight, accessible system geared toward one-shots and  short campaigns.
Burnaway’s mechanics are easy to pick up for first-timers,  while still offering depth and detail in skilled hands. The hit-based  system allows the use of any type of dice, so bring your favorite mix to  the table!
Each mission is a unique puzzle with many different solutions, though not all of them are satisfying, and the puzzle is constantly on  fire. Characters’ decisions are the greatest determiner of their fate,  with no railroading to hamper their actions (or to protect them from  fatal disaster).
Who said anything about getting stronger? BURNAWAY  eschews traditional TTRPG power up mechanics. In a line of work where  retirement or death are the only prospects, it’s up to the characters to  process their own Grief and avoid suffering permanent Burns at the end  of each session.
Acknowledgment of hope is just as important as the acceptance of Grief. Characters may build Bonds with each other, relationships forged in  literal fire, and gain mechanical benefits from their evolving  interpersonal dynamics.
BURNAWAY adapts to how your group wants to game, providing a full ruleset for traditional, GM-lead or collaborative GM-less play.
Want to dive into the world of BURNAWAY asap? We’ve got a FREE setting sampler out now that can be played through solo in under 15 mins. Make hard choices and escape a burning building before the Embergeist gets you! 🔥
My team and I have put a tremendous amount of love and effort into this, so if this kind of game seems up your alley, please come check out the campaign!

Spider’s Web Widens
This is a Masterpost for my rottmnt au, Spider’s Web Widens. This au takes place about three months after the movie and follows Big Mama’s assistant/ the fifth turtle sister- Frida- as she works to bring a mysterious thief to justice. But this thief is not exactly what he seems and may prove to be more difficult to catch than she anticipated. There will be angst, fluff, action, and probably more. But the power of family will conquer all! Right?

I saw a lot of people watch House this past October. If you're one of those people reading this, hi! I'm not going to talk about House in this post because it's a movie that's very straight forward about it's themes and very easily explained by just, watching the movie. What I am going to share is, the thing I excitedly DM people when I find they've watched House for the first time. I'm going to tell you where to watch more films by Nobuhiko Obayashi.
Nobuhiko Obayashi was very prolific, before I watched House I was under the impression that this was a one off and that the director never made anything since, I was very happy to find out this wasn't the case!
Tumblr media
If you want to read something about his career, (you do! he was super interesting!) Here's this career overview that I really like, which I think works a lot better than a where-to-start-with-obayashi (some of the ones I've seen are quite odd)
Tumblr media
If you prefer videos there's a great video that I watched just recently by Pyramid Inu about Obayashi. This ones great if you want to have a little sampler of a bunch of his movies. They watch around 26 in total and each gets a couple minutes on average. After that you might ask yourself, hey where can I watch his movies. Well,
Tumblr media
A very kind and diligent twitter user by the name of capybaroness (shout outs) has gone to the effort of putting together a very comprehensive mega folder (which can be found here) which acts as a sort of career overview. There are some absences which are detailed in the FAQ. I downloaded basically everything from there over the course of about a month but I think you can skirt the mega download limits if you use a VPN in my understanding (i think she goes through this in the FAQ also) *the screenshots above are from Bound for the Fields, the Mountains, and the Seacoast. That would be my personal recommendation! It's a story about rising nationalism in the months leading up to World War 2 and the way in which kids internalize the things they see adults do around them through play. It sounds like a heavy movie but it's not! until it is, but before that it's a live action cartoon. Incredibly funny and sweet and then the ending completely breaks your heart. If you're going to watch this one, I'd recommend the colour version first because they do something different with the colour version that I can't imagine the black and white version topping. The colour version can be found here and is also available to watch on youtube!
lastly, if you're sold and have a physical media player, third window has an excellent (but still incomplete! please release more!) selection of his work available on blu-ray.

In Hindsight 📹 Ch. 02 : "Room 613"
notes. this chapter will mostly be text-based & will try to ease the plot better so excuse the length! I'll be putting a line break after the first few to consider the scroll time on tumblr <3 the social media portion of this chapter is below the 19th block of text if you're curious,
cw! mention of nosebleeds (once)
Tumblr media
After the day you were admitted into the hospital, the rest of the week was dedicated to thorough laboratory tests and consultations. Care of Dr. Baizhu, of course.
Dr. Baizhu has been your physician ever since you were in elementary school. Before you checked in, you had called him about unusual pains and abnormalities you noticed with yourself. You suffered from additional headaches that were severe to a level and nosebleeds seemed to happen more often. He in turn advised you to come to the hospital to get it checked. The process was daunting and exhausting but you finished, falling face-first onto the soft cushions of the ward's bed.
Saturday, you woke up early to meet with your production team to discuss your upcoming album—though it happened online since the nurses specifically told you that coming outside in this state wasn't exactly the best course of action.
The meeting went by after about 45 minutes. The mood sampler ABYSS Entertainment posted a week ago was merely something to keep your fans from suspecting anything, mainly how you haven't actually made any progress on the album. But the meeting bore fruit, much to your joy. "Pieces of Love" would be taking on a dreamy, floaty, ethereal theme which was a complete contrast to the mood sampler video's gloomy one. The album would have twelve tracks and as always, you took the responsibility of writing and producing the majority of each song with a little help from your team. This process provided you a certain peace whenever it happened and you were more than glad you have the chance to do it now.
The sound of knocking resonated within the walls of your room before the sliding door shuffled open to reveal Dr. Baizhu and a young man and a nurse following suit. Your mind questions the stranger but your attention comes back to the doctor.
"Y/N, good morning. I see that you're up early." Baizhu greets with a gentle smile you had long grown familiar with.
You stuff your laptop and writing notebook into the depths of one of your bags before placing it down on the floor beside your bed. You sit down on the edge, and face Baizhu. "Oh, yes. I had to meet up with the production team today." You reply, mirroring his smile.
The nurse shuffles forward to take your vitals, just as she had for the past week. Dr. Baizhu then continues to converse with you, the young man that followed him in here still behind him. standing silently. "I take it you're coming out with a new song?"
"Full album now, actually." You smile at the thought of the achievement. It was one of your goals to release a full album and now that was in the making. You notice the stranger shift as if he wanted to say something but he remained silent.
Baizhu notices the direction in which you were peering at and chuckles. "Ah, right. Forgive me, it seems that I forgot to do some introductions."
"Y/N, this is Kunikuzushi. He's a— well, honorary intern here at the hospital. In reality, he's in his fourth year of college just like you are. And Kunikuzushi, this is Y/N. I'm not sure if you've heard of them but I believe they also attend the same university as you do."
Your lips form a small 'o.'
Honorary... intern? This kid must've done some talented things for him to intern this early. Doesn't internship come later?
"I've heard of them before, doctor. They've made quite a noise in the music industry." Kunikuzushi replies curtly. You couldn't blame him, perhaps he was just the awkward one.
"Well, I suppose that makes this easier then," Baizhu pushes his glasses to the bridge of his nose. "Kunikuzushi here will be coming along with me to grasp the concept of working at a hospital so I hope this doesn't pose as a problem for you, dear?"
"Not at all, doctor." You reply with understanding.
"Thank you. Well, I believe your vitals are okay as of the moment so I'll leave you alone now. Please do make sure to rest, Y/N." The green-haired physician advises you as he leaves through the door with the other two. "Call the staff if you need anything, yes?"
You only nod in response before waving him off, welcoming back the silence of the room when the doors slides closed.
You take this as a chance to flop back down onto the comfort of the mattress, throwing your head back onto the pillows as you stare at the white crowned ceiling. Just then, a vibration shakes the wood of the side table.

For the second time this morning, the sliding door hisses open going to the left of the wall. Your best friends shuffle inside your room holding some paper bags and Lumine seemed to be holding a small box tied with a white ribbon.
"You know it's scary how easily we got into your room." Aether blurts out, setting one of his shares of paper bags on one of the two free chairs in the corner. The other two shuffle around to take the contents of their bags out and on to the small coffee table between the chairs.
You breathe a sigh when you kick your feet off the edge of the bed and onto the cool floor, "I told them to watch out for three sleep-deprived college kids today." Aether shoots you a frown while Xinyan then comes closer to you with an open box of snacks, holding one of them in between her fingers and you open your mouth to pop it in. You munch on it slowly as a slightly sour but sweet stream of flavor explodes in your mouth.
"Strawberries?" You ask in between chews, Xinyan nods with a smile.
"You said you were craving them so I bought some from Xiangling from the culinary department. She was trying to offer me some more items but they looked... er, you get it."
You nod in acknowledgement of her words, quietly watching the twins settle down.
"What's the box for?"
Lumine looks in your direction before her face lights up in realization, grabbing the small box from earlier and digging for three envelopes from her sling bag. "Letters. We were originally planning to send only three from each of us but apparently, some of the professors and people on campus had the same idea."
She hands the two items to you and you turn them slightly to examine them. Your hands shake the box to hear a few solid knocks on the cardboard. "Seems 'some' isn't the right word," you laugh, slightly taken aback by the sound of the amount of messages inside.
The rest of the hour and a half that your group spends in your room, they managed to feed you just a little bit of the food you missed. Truth be told, you were kind of getting sick of the hospital food again. Xinyan explains the gist of your current lessons and offers to lend you her notes. Aether suggests that all four of you could binge watch something until their visitation time is over.
You opted to read the messages in the box after your friends left. It was sunset by the time they did and you were just getting tired from the talking you did.
The only light in the room came from outside the sliding door which led to the floor's front desk, and the warm lighting of the drop-down ceiling when you started going through the letters in the container. Most of them were just your professors and classmates wishing you well and good health, congratulating you on the process of making your album, and whatnot. You saved the three's letters for last, figuring that it must've been special and lengthy just by how much paper they used.
Frankly, your friends' messages were the ones responsible for breaking the dam of tears as you read along. As you dry the salty remnants from your face, you take out your notebook dedicated for songwriting and use the night to begin writing one of your b-sides.
synopsis. You are a singer-songwriter. Music has always been a part of you, it's a part of your identity that no one can ever take away. However, there's always a catch: you are diagnosed with a chronic illness that puts your life on a timer. Those who have heard your countless melodies have grown to notice that the notes on the sheet played a gloomier tune. Would the snarky and capable medical student you've met be able to bring life back into these melodies? Even as life begins to seep out of your own body? (scaramouche x gn!reader)

With Beat Planet Music (BPM), anyone can be a musician! Create your own original music in the network world of the future!!
A full-fledged music composition tool is now available on PS!
"BPM" is a full-fledged music creation software that follows in the footsteps of "DEPTH (FLUID)". By collecting sound patterns online and combining them, you can create your own original music. It feels like a complete package of instruments, musicians, and a studio. Master it and enjoy composing freely!
First in PS history! - Equipped with sampler!!
A unique feature of "BPM" that was not found in existing sequencer software is this sampler function. You can import parts of phrases from music CDs and use them as one of the tones in your own original songs. Up to six captured phrases can be saved on a memory card. You can also combine your favorite phrases and save them.
Operation is similar to that of a CD player. It also has an excellent function that changes only the pitch of the sound without changing the tempo of the song.
…That means You can create original songs using phrases from your favorite music CDs!
The procedure for capturing(sampling) sound is described on the right. You can freely change the pitch and tempo of the sampled sounds, and loop it (Repeat the same phrase over and over again) to process it to your liking. Let's try various things and think about how to use them effectively.
Sampling -First, listen to your favorite music CD on PS and search for the phrase you want. The dialogue part of the soundtrack might be interesting.
2. Play around with things -After capturing the sound, cut out and process the necessary parts. Effects such as delay, reverb, and reverse playback are also available.
3. The song is complete! -Combine with a separately created song and remix. You can loop phrases endlessly, or use them as accents.
Run fast on the six tracks and get sound material!!
Rhythmic action in the net space!
This "BPM" has a rhythm action mode like RCG running in 3D space. The course is divided into six lines, and when you catch the sound particles placed on each line, a sound will be heard. This combination of sounds allows you to play songs while running. You can also incorporate the captured sounds into your own original songs as sound material. The more you run, the more sounds you can use.
While changing the line, press the button at the right time to catch the sound! There are different patterns.
Run around the world!
Running in the net space and moving around the world. The sound atmosphere is different in each area.
Combine patterns and compose freely and easily!
The main feature of "BPM" is this song editor mode. You can create original songs using sound sources collected online or phrases sampled from music CDs.There are six tracks of sounds that can be played at the same time. With approximately 700 patterns available, anyone can easily create a song exactly as they envisioned. When you have completed an exciting song, why don't you try to make your professional debut with it?
-The six tracks correspond to courses in the net space. You can even run a track for a song you created in this mode.
-The hexagonal plates represent the sound patterns. Listen carefully and choose.
Full-featured arrangement functions that will surprise even professional musicians
Patterns can be changed freely! Circular marks lined up on the track indicate when the sound will be played.
The variety of effects is amazing! You can apply effects to each track individually according to your preference.
