I’ve been thinking about that line from Chaos where they say they don’t find Melinoë as interesting as Zagreus and now I understand it a bit more

Melinoë: the rules are set like this, headmistress taught me to do things like this, and there is a clear economy system that Charon adheres to. Therefore, I should exchange this gold that I gather from enemies and smashing vases for his goods. It all makes sense, the rules are clear and everything is in order.

the potential for shenanigans for shadowpeach family in a school setting truly is endless lol i can just see it now, the rare times shadowpeach attends a meeting they bicker with snobby demon parents while the others are either amused, tired, or terrified of it all. You can bet that single parents took one look at mac and held back from asking if his kid's dad can fight. for uh research purposes. Thats not even getting into what xiaoxing could be getting up to.

Macaque walking in in like designer clothes to Xiaoxing’s first PTA (since currently he’s the only one in school) and like everyone feeling the guys energy and going like whoahh and subtly flirting with the guy and drooling over him cause for a few PTA meetings everyone is convinced the guy is single, only for one day Wukong to come stumbling into one PTA meeting being like “yeah I’m Xiaoxing’s dad sorry I’m later—” and now everyone’s like crying cause that’s THE Sun Wukong, ain’t no way they’re competing against THAT😭😭😭

Shadowpeach definitely bicker with each other, but you better believe they unite forces against Susan from Class B who keeps giving them side eyes and passive aggressive comments everytime the school does a bake sale and the classes compete to see who can raise more money, they put aside they’re arguing to demolish Susan

picture this: you spend 40 years in an apocalyptic wasteland with the single goal of getting back to save your siblings from dying when the world ends just to fail

and then you start to panic because you and your siblings are about to die a horrible death and there’s nothing you can do to stop it, but you desperately cling onto a shot-in-the-dark plan to save them because it’s accompanied by a sliver of hope, and then ask if they trust you to try it and they WITHOUT HESITATION go “absolutely tf not”

This was probably one of my favorite comedy sequences to board on the show. I had a lot of fun leaning into this kind of horror parody style-- I was inspired by the scene in Monster's Inc. where Sully thinks Boo was turned into a cube of trash, as well as the episode of Tom and Jerry where the dog thinks his kitten friend was baked into a cookie hahahaha.

One of my goals was to make the meat to look as horrifying as possible, and the effects team really took my boards and ran LOL.

Can you spot some of the differences between my boards and the final animation? Some acting eventually got revised, and it was edited a bit more in the final ^^
