HEADS UP ARTISTS
The Web Development website Wix decided to join Adobe in the dark side & change their Terms and conditions to "grant [them] a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, and worldwide license" to use your portfolio for AI.
This does not only affect artists using this website to make their portfolios and demo reels, but online shop owners, commission pages, art galleries, game development websites and much more.
If you work in the film art or game industry and you have work under NDA or demo reels with your past works from existing film and games. EVEN IF IT'S HIDDEN, PRIVATED OR IN YOUR DRAFTS, they have all the right to steal your work and guess what? You're probably gonna get in trouble instead of wix for having them on your website.
I've used wix for 10 years but fuck them. It's time to jump ship to another website. Please make sure to remove ALL traces of your work from their site and spread the word.

Would this be quite an epic season finale!? =D

Imagine having a season finale ending with a sobbing Hazel cradling Dev and gasps in horror at an unseen figure as a scythe blade appears in the foreground, wiping the scene black. Then next season opens with Hazel begging for Dev’s life.
Had this idea for a while and started (mainly Dev) creating this in Illustrator.
I was going to have Hazel cradling him, but seeing I spent too much time on Dev, I felt I ran out of time and needed to move onto much more important things I need to finish.
The Hazel here is a sketch I came across on The Fairly OddParents Wiki, where I cropped out and colored in using Photoshop. I originally had her more over Dev's chest, but her arms blocked much of the details I put into Dev's chest, so I moved her down a notch.
I didn't want to leave the background white, so I screenshot a scene from the original series.
For whom the scythe belongs to, it's up for interpretation. For instance, given Hazel's character, she could think Father Time came to collect Dev and she's begging him not to, all the while Father Time is trying to tell her there's a small chance for Dev to be saved before his boss arrives and it's too late. Or collecting souls is Father Time's job. Or to be more angsty, it's the Grim Reaper himself. Then there could be some bargaining thrown in there, much like how it goes in the 1985 animated The Black Cauldron movie
Same thing applies with Dev: what happened to him and if he's critically injured or not is up to the imagination.
Any of these ideas would be fun to read on Fanfiction.net or ArchiveOfOurOwn.

it's amazing that I have Tumblr to thank for my career essentially. Learning how to use Adobe ten years ago, starting with Photoshop, to make gifsets for tumblr-- is what started my skills to make a graphic design portfolio and impress my first hiring manager. Now I have a graphic design associates degree and a whole career surrounding marketing and outreach for alternative transportation. It's not the career I'd imagined at 16, but I'm glad to have it. So uhhhhhhhhhhhh thanks Tumblr I guess lol.
