TOP 10 OTHER MEDIA FANDOMS ON AO3 BASED ON NUMBER OF FANWORKS,SINGLE CATEGORY TAG ONLY VERSION (2009-2022)
If you want to see the Other Media bar chart with the muti-category fandoms included, please check this post.
To make these bar chart race, all series titles in the Other Media Category on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, manually filtered for fandoms belonging in only one category, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.
Locked fanworks aren't included in the count because Wayback Machine can’t view those, only Ao3 users can.
In 2009, Computers & Software (Anthropomorphic), Nebulous (Radio Show), LOLcasts and Planescape (Roleplaying Game) are also tied with 1 fanwork at last place.
Fandom tags that are no longer in the Other Media category tag as of posting this are left out of the bar chart race. These tags are usually either miscategorized or already have other tags referring to the same fandom.
Please refer to this post for more bar chart races.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏
Edit: If you don't see a fandom on the chart, it may be because that fandom only has a multicategory tag and no Other Media category only tag. (E.g. Homestuck)
It started as a qpr Fabriz thought but y’know what it extends to the rest of the bad kids: I think it would be really funny if they had a complex web of platonic marriages just to reap the financial and governmental benefits. Like “if one got seriously stuck in a hospital the others would be able to visit because they’d be considered spouse and/or legal family” style, y’know? In a “benefits on tax returns and few(er) questions if Fabian (or the cig figs if they make more money?) decides to share a larger amount of money with the others because they’re considered extended family” way, and a “easy to put on emergency contact forms” way. Half their parents are already dating each other, it wouldn’t even need to be a very large friend-marriage-web! Idk man I just think it would be funny
now i really hope this isn't right, but i gotta say it
kalina said ragh barkrock, not lydia. lydia has experience with these things, she knows how to seal it and she's pretty cognizant and capable at the moment so she doesn't need ragh to explain on her behalf. maybe kalina just said ragh because he used to be infected (and he wasn't born with it so we can assume lydia wasn't) so she knows him better, but. lydia's already occupied with the gem in her chest. IF the same ritual needed to happen to seal the shatter stars again, lydia wouldn't be strong enough in her current state since she's weakened by the gem. gorgug's strength score dropped to 18 since taking more levels of artificer. ragh still has a +5. as far as we know the closest person to the bad kids who COULD have the strength to fuse with the gem is ragh, who also has some experience with it already. and if he did he would experience the same illness as his mother if not worse.
All of the rat grinders feel like “lone-wolf-doesn’t-like-teamwork-works-alone” trope which is also why they’re so uncoordinated in group combat and straight up feel like they don’t like each other. All of them are designed to function as solitary characters without the need for backup or a supporting party, and they really fight like it (wrongly)
I didn't really watch Adventure Time growing up much, but absorbed a lot of its lore/themes via internet osmosis, so when Fionna and Cake started coming out I was curious to see what they were gonna do with the characters after where they were left at the end of the show.
What I didn't expect was that Episode 6 "The Winter King" was gonna have one of the most spectacular and gorgeous animated sequences outside of Spider-Verse and a fantastic song in "Winter Wonder World" to go along with it! I tried to emulate the aesthetic of Emmy Cicierega's backgrounds and Hettie Lees' paints while drawing Simon "The Winter King" Petrikov aka 2023's Most Likely To Destroy Tumblr's Trending Topics.
As for the posing - perhaps he does not commit the crime of manspreading in the episode itself, but I cannot in good conscience put it past the guy. If you've seen the episode you know what I mean.
Also, it goes with out saying, but I'm just super proud of Brian David Gilbert for voicing him so well in a challenging role! Imagine my friends and coworkers' confusion as I point to this be-suited twirling figure on the telly and go "that's my spin instructor!"
i think that anyone starting an actual play show should be required to take a class from the justin mcelroy school of character voices. if your character has your normal voice, you’re doing it wrong. if you see medieval fantasy and default to shitty british, you’re wrong. i want FUN VOICES in my shows and i’m NOT going to apologize for it.
