So my(??M) girlfriend(??F) Therese and I (together with some of our friends and allies) are kinda forced to eradicate other worlds for the sake of our own world's survival over the others. We're pretty strong if I say so myself.

Some time ago, our friend Glass went to this other world to scout and check out the Heroes and the overall strength of that world, and even take their heroes out if possible. But, she ends up defeated by the Shield Hero and comes back home as the Wave ends.

When we finally regroup, she tells us all the stories about the Shield Hero being an absolute scumbag (Slavery, abuse, fraud, abduction, extortion, all that stuff.), while the other three heroes (spear, sword, bow) were so useless and weak they couldn't even defeat the Wave Boss and the shield hero had to do it on his own!

Anyway, we end up going to that world, just my GF and I, so scout as well, and join the next wave to take them all out.

While there, this EXP Boost happens on some islands, and while taking a ship there, this really cute and nice-looking guy asks to share our cabin because every other cabin is filled.

And when I say cute, we mean it! Cute, beautiful, gorgeous every word! He has two girls with him in his party, who seemed like either his daughters or a daughter and a sister. He says his name is the same as the shield hero, but I could tell that he wasn't that kind of scumbag! He's so nice and soft with the two girls, and he's so snarky and sarcastic, but in a fun and good way!

Anyway, we end up all agreeing to grind levels together and explore the local area for a bit. We don't see him again for the day, until dark, when the guy with the ship keeps worrying about the guy and his party not coming back, so, of course, we're worried! We end up finding them setting up camp on the island, and get them persuaded to come back to have a drink with us at the local tavern! (Therese and I like to think of it as a first date since the two girls went off on their own after a while). We have fun chatting and drinking, and he's been snacking on these berries, but when I try one, we find out that they're basically raw alcohol, and I'm out like a light.

So, he's really good with kids, protective, snarky in a good way, gorgeous, beautiful, kind, is a craftsman (he made Therese the most beautiful bracelet), AND he is stupidly good at holding his drink.

So Therese and I are pretty much in agreement that we're in love with this guy, but he still won't tell us his name and keep insisting that he's actually the Shield Hero! (We still didn't believe him. The rumors were too different from what the guy's like.)

And we all spend a lot of time grinding and just spending time together, and I like to believe that Therese and I got at least a little chance with the guy.

But, after the guy went to the beach with his kids (WE MISSED SEEING HIM SHIRTLESS) apparently they found an underwater Hourglass, and apparently, a Wave was gonna happen soon.

So, we sadly had to tell him that we probably weren't going to see each other again (Unless he would be joining the Wave, which we assumed he wouldn't, with two kids with him).

BUT GUESS WHO WE THEN SEE AT THE WAVE, on the same ship as the Queen of this country. THE GUY WE JUST FELL FOR!

And he's fighting in the wave, together with his two daughters, and they're doing really good, (especially compared to the other three 'heroes'. Not even sure if they're actually heroes or not tho) and he's really hot while fighting.

BUT THEN, our friend Glass comes along with the Wave, after I show off a little when taking out the Wave Boss (A giant whale), and start fighting the guy.

SO APPARENTLY HE WAS ACTUALLY THE SHIELD HERO, so now I refuse to believe the rumors because he's way too good to be the scumbag the rumors talked about.

We end up fighting the last of the Wave through, and I know we hurt him when we said we had to kill him, despite how it hurt us as well and that we didn't want to, but it was for the sake of our whole world.

But, we were taken away before we could finish the job because the Wave ended (He was getting the upper hand on us, even! while the other three were out from just one bluff.).

tl;dr: My girlfriend and I went to another world to get rid of its Heroes so save our own world, and on the way fell in love with a guy, only to then find out that the guy we fell for was the Shield Hero, and we would now have to kill him as well.

AITA for being annoyed my client/host threw my only mirror out of a window?

I (22M) am a solicitor and currently staying at a client’s castle in Transylvania. As I was shaving this morning my client (??M) grabbed my mirror, got mad at me for bleeding, called the mirror a “foul bauble of man’s vanity” and threw it out of the castle window. I was annoyed and was going to say something but then I noticed he was making my bed even though he says he has servants(?? I have yet to see one)

Edit: is it strange that I didn’t see his reflection in the mirror??

AITA for killing my boss even though he asked (before anyone comes for me he’s fine now)

so i (33M, green) got hired by this guy (45M, green now red) running an enchanting business because i accidentally used his things when i saw his stuff laying around as he was still working on his shop. i was just in it to sort of repay the service i used but then we became friends. thing is he also had these really sketchy guys from the desert that wanted to undercut him hard by taking over the business and all his enchants, and they would keep perstering him about it, breaking and entering, etc etc (my boss wasn't the type of guy to stick up for himself very much so it kind of happened a lot).

but the big thing was when they planted a bomb at the entrance to the building where the shop was. this pissed my boss off a lot because they made him go from green to yellow, and he said he had a plan, but he wouldn't tell me what it was.

and then one day he comes out with a really nice axe that he gifts me (i thought it was cool) but then it turns out he'd basically built a sacrificial altar in the patio outside the shop (not cool). then he turns to me, and asks me to kill him. i didn't want to do it because i'm green and he's yellow but he's also my boss and im supposed to listen, and then he's also my friend so i decided to trust him on this and so i just went along and cut off his head.

and now EVERY friend of my boss is blowing up my messages asking why i did that. i tried to say that i had no choice because he literally told me to do it and he's just on red now, not permadead, but nobody wants to believe me and i think there's someone already coming over. they're my boss' friends but also if they try to get at me i will fight back. but also it would make my boss upset and he trusts me a lot. i feel bad for killing my boss but he told me to do it so i don't think it's wrong?

lottieshauna is so funny to me its like: AITA? I (F17) am pregnant and giving birth to my child. For context, I had sex with my best friend's boyfriend and it killed her in the process. I now have to perform a live birth in the middle of nowhere due to my plane crashing with several of my teammates. So, my teammate (F17, let's call her L) has been weirdly obsessed with my baby. She keeps whispering to it while I'm asleep, and insisting that it's "our" baby. It almost sounds like she wants to father my child??? The other night, L was going on one of her tangents and I yelled at her to stop obsessing over my baby. Everyone, including my friend is mad at me for snapping at her. I don't see how I did anything wrong. Does anyone else find her behaviour weird?

AITA: I (6000+ M) took a long distance job offer after my (6000+ M) kissed me, now he thinks I don’t love him

Hey Reddit, throwaway because I have quite nosy coworkers that know my other account. I have been at this heavenly company for a really long time but a couple years ago they fired me for being involved with someone from a rival company. Now he’s my best friend. He also got fired but he never really like his company anyway and doesn’t seem that upset about it. He lost his apartment though so he’s been coming over a lot more often so he doesn’t have to sleep in his car.

The problem is that the company I used to work for offered me a senior position out of the blue, which has basically been my dream since I can remember. I knew it would mean being away from my best friend though so I worked out a deal to have him come with me, and the company actually offered to hire us both. When I went to tell him the good news he blew up at me and said this isn’t what he wanted and he’d rather start over somewhere new. When I told him this is better for both of us he kissed me and stormed off. We’ve been companions, friends, whatever you would call it for ages but we’ve never kissed before.

After he stormed out he waited by his car but I didn’t go after him. I don’t know if it was the anger or the fear of what he might say but I couldn’t face him. I still took the job and left him because I can’t miss this opportunity even if it means losing him, and this is where I think I might be TA. I’m really frustrated that I stuck my neck out and got both of us jobs again, and he won’t even consider it. Especially after he’s been at my place so much and clearly wants to be more than friends I feel like it only makes sense for us to both work together again. We are such a good team and I don’t understand why he think abandoning our lives makes more sense then trying to repair the ones we’ve got. I really love him and don’t want to hurt his feelings but now he’s not talking to me. Was it wrong to take the job even though I know I can fix things and make it better for him?

Edit: for everyone asking why he wouldn’t want to work it’s because he’s worked for this company before and they fired him and a bunch of coworkers for trying to unionize/question higher management.

Edit 2: Okay I’m trying to respond to as many of these as I can but I get it I’m the asshole. I am going to go after him and try to make things right as soon as I get off work. Will post update soon.

I think AITA would be better on tumblr bc you see a lot of posts like "I'm a landlord and my tenant stopped paying rent and stabbed me, was I the asshole for evicting them?"

And only tumblr would come to the correct conclusion that the tenant was cool and right, all landlords are assholes for rent seeking and that Mao had some good ideas.

Am I the asshole for getting my best friend killed?

I swear to God, it was an accident.

My (27) BF (34) has a reputation for getting himself out of any jam you can imagine; and at first it was just a fun little thing the friend group noticed: there goes Oily J wiggling his way out of trouble again. but as the meme evolved in the group, it got to the point where we'd loykey started getting him into situations just to see how he'd get out of 'em, and he akept getting out of em. He was having fun with it too same as us. "Oh you guys," he'd say, "getting me into situations again," before laughing it off and getting out of it, so it was enrichment for our shared enclosures, and as time went on, the situations got more intense.

The trouble is, it turns out that putting a man in too many situations eventually gets the police interested. And not local hobsknockers cops either; they was like, proper three-letter FEDs. They put out a bounty on any information pertaining to his capture and everything. It was good money too so I thought, hey why don't I put J in another situation he can wiggle out of like always (and he'd wiggled outta worse before, so I thought this one'd be relatively mild), and at the next boardgame night (cause it was too late to do anything special for this one) we can buy some extra strong booze and get absolutely blitzed while having a giggle about the situation.

Boardgame night, and we were playing some social deduction nonsense or another and he says: "One of you is gonna betray me tonight." and I can't help but think, looking back on it, that he knew. It's stupid, I know he was talking about the game, but the way he said it, it was like he knew. We all felt it, and we had a big round robin round the table taking turns promising that we'd never betray him. And I said it so easily cause I thought it was true. Sure, I was gonna talk to the feds about a bounty; but, I fully expected my big beautiful oily boy to wiggle his way out of the trouble I was 'bout to cause, and that's not a betrayal. I wasn't lying. I didn't think I was lying.

My big beautiful oily boy didn't manage to wiggle his way out of it. They killed him and I got my blood money. He's gone.

He's gone and I'm devastated, crying, mourning. I loved him so much. We all did. And I can't stop thinking that it's my fault: that I'm the reason he's gone. and it is. and the guilt is eating me up inside. and I just need to talk to someone about it. So, I tell the rest of the group what happened in the group chat, hoping they'd understand that I didn't want this. I didn't want the government's blood money. It was supposed the be a prank. some joint enclosure enrichment. He was supposed to wiggle out of it like he always does... did, i mean.

They call me, among worse things, the asshole and kick me from the group chat. And, I know it's my fault he's dead: I know that. If I didn't do what I did, he wouldn't be dead right now. But, I didn't mean it for it to end up this way. He was supposed to be okay, damn it. I loved him. AITA?

its a post abt a guy mentioning his fiancee being mad that his best friend of 10 years who he invited to be the best man was someone he had also dated for like a month when they were teenagers and everyones saying hes ta bc he didnt disclose that

hed known his friend for 6 years before meeting the fiancee and it wasnt that serious of a relationship. he says they acted similarly to how they did as friends with some hooking up involved. in the grande scheme of things i can see how it would blend together with all the time spent after

i dont get why its such a big deal he never told her? he wasnt actively hiding it from her, he obviously just didnt think it was that big a deal since it was so brief and so long ago. i dont think you should Have to disclose your entire relationship history with every partner you have?? why is the fiancee so upset abt a relationship that lasted a month when op was like 15. just bc they stayed friends after??

AITA for accidentally getting my boss’s (m) crush (f) to fall in love with me (f posing as m) while i was supposed to be making her fall for him??

so for context i work for this guy (let’s call him o) and he’s in love with this woman we’ll call v. v is super uninterested and refuses to see him ever since her father and brother died, but my boss really likes her, so, since im his most trusted employee, he sent me to tell her how much he loves her.

here’s where the problem starts: i tell her all about how much my boss loves her, and then when i run out of prepackaged things from my boss to say, i start speaking off the cuff. v absolutely loves this and starts begging me to come back every day, even going so far as to give me a ring that isn’t even mine??? now, she’s absolutely head over heels for ME when i was supposed to be wooing her for my boss.

another wrench in the situation is that im totally in love with my boss but he won’t even consider me (i’m in disguise as a man atm — long story — so despite our deep connection, he only sees me as a friend).

AITA FOR ASKING A GIRL IF SHE LOVED ME WHILE I WAS ACTIVELY DYING

I (22M) had known this girl (16F), let’s call her A, since I was 14. I had run away from home when I was 9 years old, and later came across another runway named T (15/20F) who was 12 years old at the time. Together, T and I came across A, and the three of us stuck together as we attempted to find somewhere safe for us to live. The three of us made our way to a camp for kids like us with the help another person named G (16/33M). T unfortunately died before we made it to safety within the camp and was turned into a pine tree by her father.

After 5 years of living at this camp, I grew mad at our neglectful parents and decided to join my great grandfather K (∞M) in his crusade to overthrow them. Around that same time, P (16M) joined camp. P was prophesied to either help or beat K on his 16th birthday, so I was tasked with trying to stop P before then. A became very good friends with P and also tried to stop K and me. The summer before P’s 16th birthday, I joined bodies with K since he was previously cut up to bits and thrown into a pit that served as his jail.

I was very dedicated to my cause and helping K because I thought us kids deserved better. However, on P’s 16th birthday I realized that I may have been the “bad guy”. While my intentions came from a good place, my actions were not. The only way to stop K was for me to die, so I stabbed myself in my armpit with A’s knife that I had given to her when she was 7. While I was bleeding out and waiting to die, I asked A if she loved me. A told me that there was a time in which she thought she did, but ultimately she saw me as a brother and did not love me.

I did end up dying and when awaiting my judgment in the underworld, I was told that asking A if she loved me was one the the many bad things I did in life, and that it made me an asshole. However, I personally don’t think I was an asshole for asking A that question since I was dying and wanted to know for my peace of mind.
