What kind of animal represents your ocs?

Kingsley Montivelo

This is a funny tag game because Kingsley is already a anthro crocodile so obviously he would be represented by a crocodile. I chose this animal because crocodiles are known for being dangerous and unpredictable and untrustworthy and i wanted to play with those bias. Kingsley is a rebel leader who did terrible things and is trying to save his life by pointing out everyone else's terrible actions and I never wanted the reader to feel comfortable with him, even if they find his cause sympathetic.

Alex Phillips

Alex is my human MC and they are represented by the stag, mostly because I find stags tragic. I think of how noble and beautiful they look and how often they're hunted by humans and their carcasses are displayed as these great trophies but there is no respect in how they're mounted. Alex is a sad, noble person whose family was sacrificed for a potentially unworthy cause and they're desperately trying to reclaim a sense of dignity and purpose. The stag's connection with the woods and its dark, mystical powers also represents Alex's relationship with their wife, Christine, who "hears" the voices of the gods and may be a witch of some sort?

naw no way Big Ben got kidnapped... Kingsley rly stooped that low to exploit ben's kindness and trap him in a van??? also it's really a testament to his monstrous strength that ben could shake a huge van like that like damn.

also like how the latest free chapter pointed out how Gerard is like the 2nd in command taking charge in Ben's absence. Alex is ngl just there as a sidekick.

Donald will not be happy about this, because im sure he's the kind of character who would want to fight a fair battle of strength and see how far Ben has come for himself.

Signal Boost Please! Call for Submissions

Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra Jules Corrigan and I'm an author of queer-friendly kids books. You can check my creds here.

My editor Alex and I have pitched a kids' anthology of queer folklore and mythology where we're hoping to gather submissions from 10-15 different contributors of different cultural backgrounds telling a queer story from their culture's folklore or mythology. Talks have been going well, but the publisher, Jessica Kingsley Publishers (an imprint of Hachette), would like to see more submissions to get a better feel for what the final product would look like before green-lighting.

Submissions should be around 100-200 words, focused on one story, and be written in a style appropriate for late elementary/early middle school. If you would like to include sources for the story, you can put them at the end in a bibliography, Chicago/Turabian style is preferred.

We especially would like submissions from POC, but white authors are also welcome to submit.

If you would like to write something for us, you can use this form to submit. Please keep in mind that submitting does not guarantee that you will be included in the final anthology, but we will reach out to you via e-mail if we want to use your writing.

If you aren't a writer or this isn't your thing, I would still really appreciate a reblog to spread the word!
