The past week and a half has been a whirlwind. Meetings, studio sessions, and preparations for “Suchwita” have consumed your days and nights. The tight deadlines and intense work pace have kept you on your toes, but there’s a growing excitement within you for the new venture. Today marks the first day of recording "Suchwita," and you find yourself buzzing with anticipation. Determined to ensure everything goes smoothly, you decide to arrive at the studio early to oversee the final preparations.
As you step into the makeshift studio space, you're greeted by a flurry of activity. Camera operators are setting up angles, lighting technicians are adjusting the brightness, and set designers are putting the final touches on the sleek, intimate set that will serve as the backdrop for the show.
The set has a warm, inviting aura with dark wood paneling, a cozy seating area, and a small bar stocked with various bottles of whiskey and soju.
You're impressed by how quickly everything has come together.
“Yoongi-ssi, good morning,” you call out as you approach Yoongi, who is already surveying the room. You notice him glance at you from the corner of his eye as you walk towards him. You have to admit, he looks great. The crew has styled him in denim blue jeans and a navy blue sweater, a casual yet polished outfit that complements the professional yet relaxed atmosphere of the set. It’s clear he arrived before you.
“Good morning __-ssi,” Yoongi replies, giving you a small smile. “Everything ready?”
“We’re almost there. Just a few final touches, and we should be good to go.”
“Great,” he nods, briefly scanning around the set. “The place looks better than I imagined.”
“I’m glad you think so,” you say with a satisfied expression. “We wanted it to reflect your personality and create an atmosphere where you and your guests can have open, honest conversations. How are you feeling this morning?”
“Pretty excited, actually,” he says, folding his arms in a composed manner. “A little nervous, but mostly excited. How are you and the rest of the team holding up with all the new developments?”
“We’re managing,” you say with a chuckle. “It’s been a lot of late nights and early mornings, but everyone’s excited about ‘Suchwita.’ It’s something different and refreshing. I think we’re all equally eager to see it succeed.”
Yoongi nods thoughtfully, taking a moment to soak in the details of the set. “It’s all coming together pretty fast. Do we know for sure who we’ll have on for the next few recordings?”
“We do,” you reply, “We’ve lined up a few other artists for the following episodes, including some from different genres. Your fellow members will also join as soon as their schedules permit. I think it’s going to be a good mix. Also, if there’s anyone in particular you’d like to have as a guest, just let me know. I’m sure we can coordinate it.”
“I’ll consider that,” Yoongi says, genuinely pleased. “I appreciate all the hard work you’ve put into this by the way. I know the timeline has been tight.”
“Well, it’s been a team effort,” you say, smiling warmly. “But thank you. It’s been fun, even if a bit hectic now and then. I have to say, it’s been nice working closely with you, Yoongi-ssi. You’re very dedicated to your craft and I think more often than not, we tend to see eye to eye.”
Yoongi seems to blush slightly at your compliment but maintains his composure. “Good to know you like me after fifteen days,” he says, a playful glint in his eyes. “I was starting to think this partnership might be a bit one-sided, especially after our chat during that smoke break a while ago.”
His lighthearted remark brings you back to that brief smoke break behind the building. It was a simple, candid moment, but it left a lasting impression, making you feel like you and Yoongi were finally starting to become good colleagues. The easy rapport that’s developed between you two since then is a welcome change from the often formal interactions with other team members.
“Well, if I recall correctly,” you counter, “You said you only like me ‘enough.’ That’s not quite the same as actually liking someone and wanting to work with them.”
Amused, Yoongi’s smirk grows. “It was implied, wasn’t it? You know I wouldn’t work with you if I didn’t actually like you.”
“Really?” you say, raising an eyebrow, your tone teasing.
“I have no reason to lie to you, __-ssi.” Yoongi insists, his voice light but his gaze steady. There’s a moment of playful tension in the air, both of you smiling as you challenge each other with your eyes.
“Interesting,” you reply, tilting your head slightly. Though mutually taunting each other, there’s something about Yoongi’s words and tone that still feels reassuring, grounding even.
Before either of you can exchange another word, you hear footsteps nearing behind you. Turning, you see Kim Namjoon entering the studio with a warm smile on his face. He’s dressed casually yet stylishly, exuding the effortless charisma that has made him a beloved figure among fans.
“Morning,” Namjoon greets, his voice carrying a familiar depth. He adjusts the bottom of his shirt, giving the studio a once-over. “I hope I’m not late or anything.”
Approaching Namjoon, you greet him with an inviting smile and extend your hand for a handshake. His response is equally friendly, and there’s a sense of gentle confidence coming from him, as any good leader should have.
“It’s wonderful to meet you, __-nim,” Namjoon responds, shaking your hand warmly. “I’ve heard a lot about you from Yoongi-hyung.”
Somewhat taken aback by the bit of information, you share a glance with Yoongi, who briefly meets your eyes before averting his gaze back to Namjoon. A faint rosy tint colors his cheeks once again.
“This place looks fantastic. You’ve really outdone yourselves,” Namjoon continues.
“Thank you,” you say, feeling a surge of pride. “We wanted to create a space where our guests feel comfortable and can have open, honest conversations. I think we’ve achieved that.”
Namjoon nods in agreement, taking in the surroundings with a thoughtful expression. “It definitely feels welcoming. I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together in the end.”
“Congratulations on your new album by the way,” you add. “I’m sure Indigo is going to be a success, especially amongst your fans who have been waiting for another solo from you for quite some time.”
“Thanks, it’s been a journey and I’m glad to have such a loyal fanbase who continue to support me for the last nine-plus years. It always lifts my spirits.”
“Absolutely, and you deserve it too,” you reply. “I’ve been a huge supporter of The Last Shadow Puppets for over ten years myself, and I think I’ve officially become their gatekeeper.” As you allow yourself a light chuckle, the two in front of you smile in return. Yoongi looks like he wants to press further but chooses to remain silent.
“Well anyway,” you shift topics due to the minor lull, “we should get started.”
Namjoon nods approvingly. “So, what’s the plan for today?”
“We’ve got a brief rundown for you,” you say, motioning towards a table with a few scripts and notes. “We’ll start with a casual chat to set the tone, then delve into some of your recent projects and thoughts on the music industry. We want it to be as natural and spontaneous as possible, so don’t worry about sticking too closely to the script. Also, we know ‘Indigo’ won’t be officially released for two more days, but ‘Suchwita’ is premiering on the 5th. That said, we are filming ahead of time so Yoongi might guide the conversation as if your album’s already been released.”
“Sounds good,” Namjoon says, his relaxed demeanor showing his readiness to go with the flow. “Anything specific you want me to prepare for?”
“No, just be yourself,” you reply with a reassuring smile. “That’s what this show is all about. Authentic conversations, nothing forced. Yoongi-ssi will take the seat on the right of the camera and Namjoon-nim, you’ll be on the left.”
“Got it,” Namjoon says, giving you a thumbs up. He then turns to Yoongi. “Hyung, ready to show off your hosting skills?”
Yoongi chuckles, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “We’ll see how it goes. It’s my first time doing something like this, so I’m just hoping not to embarrass myself.”
“You’ll do great,” Namjoon says confidently, giving Yoongi a supportive pat on the back. “Just be your usual, charming self.”
As the crew finishes their preparations and the cameras start rolling, you stand off to the side, monitoring the setup and ensuring everything runs smoothly. The room falls silent as the red recording light flickers on.
Yoongi takes a deep breath and leans back in his chair.
“Welcome, everyone, to the first episode of ‘Suchwita…time to drink with Suga.’ I’m your host, Min Yoongi, and today we have a very special guest. Someone who’s not just a fellow artist but a good friend and our BTS band leader, Kim Namjoon.”
“Happy to be here,” Namjoon says with a grin. “And thanks for the drink.” He picks up his glass of whiskey and raises it in a mock toast.
Yoongi chuckles and lifts his own glass. “Cheers, Namjoon-ah. Let’s dive in. I wanted to start by talking about your new album, Indigo. It’s been out for a few days now, and it’s already making waves. How are you feeling about the responses?”
Namjoon takes a sip before answering, his demeanor relaxed. “It’s been amazing. The fans have been so supportive, and it’s really encouraging to see people connecting with the themes and messages in the album. I wanted it to be something that reflects where I am in my life right now, both musically and personally.”
“That’s something I’ve always admired about your work,” Yoongi says, his tone genuine. “You’re not afraid to be vulnerable and share your thoughts and experiences. I think that’s why so many people resonate with your music.”
“It’s something we all strive for, isn’t it?” Namjoon replies, looking thoughtful. “To create art that’s true to ourselves and that speaks to others. I think it’s all about finding that balance between vulnerability and strength that can make music so relatable. Speaking of which, I’m excited to hear more about your upcoming album, D-Day. What can fans expect?”
Yoongi takes a moment to gather his thoughts. “D-Day is a very personal project for me. It’s a reflection of my journey and everything I’ve been through, especially over the past couple of years. There’s a lot of introspection and a lot of different sounds I’ve experimented with. I wanted it to be an honest portrayal of where I am right now.”
“That sounds incredible,” Namjoon says, leaning forward. “I know the fans are going to love it. You’ve always had a way of capturing emotions in your music that’s really powerful.”
As the conversation continues, you observe Namjoon closely, impressed by his ability to articulate his thoughts with clarity and depth. Yoongi’s previous nervousness has also subsided from the way he easily navigates the conversation, speaking with a similar passion and conviction as Namjoon.
The pair have a natural rapport that is captivating to watch, and their insights into the creative process are both fascinating and inspiring.

After about an hour, when the first taping wraps up, the crew applauds as Yoongi and Namjoon stand and share a brief hug.
“Well we did it,” Yoongi says, looking relieved. “Thanks for being my first guest.”
“Anytime,” Namjoon replies, grinning. “You did great, Yoongi I think this show is going to be a hit.”
“Great job, both of you.” You approach the two with a smile, earning their attention. “Fans are going to love seeing you two together once this releases. It’ll set the tone for the rest of the episodes. Thanks again, Namjoon, for being here. Your support means a lot.”
“It was my pleasure,” Namjoon replies, returning your smile. “I can’t wait to see how the show turns out.”
Just as you’re about to head off to the production room, Namjoon briefly checks his phone and then looks at Yoongi. “Hey, how do you feel about grabbing some lunch at the cafeteria? It’s been a while since we had a proper meal together.”
Yoongi’s face lifts at the suggestion. “I’m up for it. I’m starving.”
Namjoon then shifts his gaze at you. “What about you __-nim?”
You hesitate for a moment, feeling an obvious pang of hunger. You hadn’t eaten much this morning other than a few strawberries. However, you don’t want to intrude on their time together.
As you debate whether to decline the invitation and catch up on Taehyung’s whereabouts or attend to your next work projects, Yoongi speaks up. “The more the merrier,” he says.
“Yeah, if you don’t have anything pressing we’d love to have you join us,” Namjoon adds, the same warm smile on his face.
Your eyes shift between the two men standing in front of you, sincerity evident in their expressions.
“Okay, sure, I could go for something to eat,” you reply, nodding.
With a collective agreement, the three of you make your way to the cafeteria. Once there, Yoongi opts for a heaping plate of bulgogi, his eyes gleaming at the sight of the colorful vegetables and perfectly marinated beef. Namjoon selects a fresh, savory bowl of stir-fried noodles himself, while you choose a hearty bowl of ramen, steam rising from the rich broth.
Despite the bustling lunch hour, you manage to find a table near the large windows. The sunlight streaming through gives you a much-needed boost of energy.
“Here’s to a successful first episode,” Namjoon says, raising his glass of water in a toast.
“Cheers,” you and Yoongi respond in unison, clinking glasses.
As you start to dig into your meals, Namjoon turns to Yoongi. “So, what’s the lineup gonna look like for the next few episodes?”
Yoongi takes a sip of his drink before answering. “We’re planning on bringing in more artists from other groups, a couple of comedians, and maybe some actors. We want to keep it diverse and not just stick to musicians. But I’d also like to get the rest of our members on the show too at some point.”
“That’s smart,” Namjoon agrees, taking a bite of his noodles. “It’ll keep the conversations dynamic and appeal to a broader audience.”
“You know,” you chime in, “I think one of the strengths of ‘Suchwita’ is going to be its versatility. Yoongi, your ability to connect with people from different backgrounds will be a huge asset.”
Yoongi smiles appreciatively. “Thanks. I just hope I can keep up the energy and bring out the best in each guest.”
“You will,” Namjoon says confidently. “Just be yourself. That’s what people are tuning in for—the real Yoongi, having real conversations. Fans like seeing how well you can hold your whiskey too. It’s all part of the charm.”
Yoongi chuckles at the sheer truth of it all. “It’s nice to be able to do something like this, to be honest. Not just for the fans, but also for our colleagues who we can spotlight and bring further appreciation to.”
“I know what you mean, man.” Namjoon swallows another mouthful of noodles and then directs his attention to you. “I don’t imagine you’ll be a guest on the show will you?”
“Definitely not,” you reply, shaking your head. “I’ll be in the background, like a puppet master.”
“Ah, gotta make sure hyung says the right stuff huh? Trust me, I’d be the first to understand that,” Namjoon chuckles before continuing.“I feel like you’d be a natural on the show though. I, for one, would make sure to watch.” There’s a suggestive undertone in his words but you’re quick to waive it off. It’s probably just your imagination anyway.
“I wouldn’t mind having an excuse to enjoy some old-fashioned whiskey at work,” you reply. “It’s been a long-time favorite of mine.”
“Oh, you like it too?” Namjoon’s eyes widen unexpectedly. “No wonder you and Yoongi work well together.”
Intrigued, Yoongi looks at you, and it’s now that you realize he’s chosen to take the seat next to you instead of Namjoon. If you leaned any further towards him, you’re certain you’d catch the scent of smoked wood and citrus. “I always keep a bottle in my producing room these days,” he admits, and like Namjoon there’s a slight implication behind his words.
Before entertaining any further thoughts about it, however, you playfully snort in reply. “Is that what you’re doing up there at 10 pm? Having your whiskey? Here I’ve been thinking you were busy mixing your tracks.”
Yoongi shrugs, meeting your teasing tone. “I can do both. I’m good at multitasking.”
A giggle escapes your lips as you land a gentle, but firm swat on his arm. The unsuspecting action would have taken you all aback if you weren’t already amused by the conversation. “Yoongi-ssi,” you feign a scold, “no one’s actually good at multitasking.”
“So what are you saying? I’m half-assing it?” He’s grinning ear to ear now, his gummy smile undeniably cute. For a split second, it causes a blooming sensation in the pit of your stomach. But no, stop—you fold your arms, determined to maintain composure.
“I’m just saying that I’ll believe it when I see it.”
As if in a challenge, Yoongi narrows his eyes at you while Namjoon continues watching the scene unfold from across the table, eyes darting between the two of you. “You’ll have to come up to my producing room sometime,” Yoongi says. “It’s the only way I can prove it to you.”
“Mhm, right.” You share a knowing look with Yoongi, his dark eyes dancing with what can only be described as mischief. Being that his music equipment is on the 17th floor, which is reserved for Hybe artists only, you haven’t even considered venturing to the upper halls.
“You really should see his producing room __-nim,” Namjoon chimes after being a spectator for longer than he’d like. “He’s got an insane setup up there.”
“We’ll see,” you reply simply, “Maybe.”
From the remainder of your meal, the conversation shifts to lighter topics as Yoongi recounts a funny story about trying to write lyrics late at night and accidentally sending them to his accountant instead of Taehuyng. Namjoon bursts out laughing, nearly spilling his water, while you shake your head in amused disbelief.
“Did they give you any financial advice on your lyrics?” you prob.
“Surprisingly, no.” Yoongi replies with a chuckle. “But I got a very confusing email the next morning.”
“We should do this more often,” Namjoon interjects once he finishes his noodles, leaning back with a satisfied sigh. “It’s good to catch up, and it’s great getting to know you too, __-nim. I’m glad you could join us.”
“Well, thanks for inviting me,” you say with a smile of gratitude. “It’s been nice.”
After lunch concludes, you part ways with Yoongi and Namjoon. They head off to a meeting with the rest of the members, while you return to your office to tackle a pile of reports. If you hadn’t been so focused on making your way back, you might have noticed Yoongi sneaking a final glance at you over his shoulder.
Tumblr media
Later that evening, after a long day of preparations and discussions with your team, you finally head home. The events of the day still linger in your mind, but a sense of accomplishment accompanies your fatigue as the first episode of 'Suchwita' is already being edited for release.
How is it that tomorrow is already the first day of December? Time flies.
As you unlock the door to your apartment and step inside, your phone buzzes with a notification. It’s a message from your parents, asking for the second time if you’ll be coming home for the holidays. You recall your mother’s earlier message mentioning someone she wanted to introduce you to—a potential husband. You had seen through her request instantly but had delayed your reply.
A pang of guilt now tugs at your heart as you finally type out your response, carefully explaining that you have a new project to film and won’t have many days off. You promise to try and visit around New Year’s instead, hoping you’ll be better mentally prepared then.
Setting your phone down, you realize you haven’t heard from Taehyung today. Usually, he checks in or shares a quick update about his schedule. You wonder if everything is alright with him but decide not to overthink it, making a mental note to reach out to him tomorrow.
After changing into more comfortable clothes, you settle down on the couch with a cup of tea. The quietness of your apartment is a stark contrast to the lively energy of the production set.
As you sip your tea, you start to relax, but then your phone buzzes again. This time, it’s a message from Taehyung. You quickly open it, relieved to see his name.
Tae 💚: Hey, sorry I didn’t check earlier. It’s been a crazy day. How did the first taping go with Yoongi and Namjoon?
Smiling, you type out a reply.
You: It went really well. We should have everything edited and ready for upload by Monday. How about you? Everything okay?
Tae 💚: Good to hear! Yeah, everything’s okay on my end. Just a full day with shoots and meetings with Bang PD. I’m sorry we didn’t get to have our usual lunch together 🙁
You: Me too. Maybe tomorrow?
Tae 💚: I should be able to. Let me know when you decide to head down. By the way…look [attached an image]
The second you see the image of farm-fresh strawberries in a vibrant green container, you nearly leap from your seat. You and Taehyung love fruit, especially the ones from the local farmers market where they have the best variety. You like to go every other weekend, at the same time, if you could. The only unfortunate part is that to keep down rumors, Taehyung and you often shopped separately as if strangers, then reconvened in a private location to show each other your purchases. Often, he’d come to your place for a meal afterward.
It wasn’t an ideal system since you’d like to be out with Taehyung more freely, but despite the crowds, the public was always quick to recognize him. This coming Saturday is the next time you both planned to go, but the image looks like he’s already been there.
You: What?! 😭 You went to the farmers market without me??
Tae 💚: Oh, no! I wouldn't dream of it! This is the last container I have at my house, so we need to go soon. Saturday can’t come soon enough!
You: Okay good, because I like going together haha. I need more mangos and oranges! I ate my last orange today and got sad about it.
Tae 💚: 🤣 You sound like Yoongi-hyung. He loves oranges too. The two of you have more similarities in food and drinks than I thought. Has he offered you a drink of his whiskey yet?
The question surprises you. Had Yoongi told him what happened between the two of you at lunch?
You: How did you know that?
Tae 💚: Wait, really? I was just asking because he likes to offer it to me whenever I visit him in his studio. He really asked you to have a drink with him? __?
You: Yes. After we filmed, we all decided to grab lunch. Long story short, Yoongi said he had whiskey in his producing room and said I should come up sometime. I haven’t even been to the 17th floor yet.
Tae 💚: You should take him up on the offer! Go see what he’s got going on up there __. His studio is pretty immaculate.
You: Hmm, I don't know. It was a pretty informal invite, to be honest, and I’m not technically allowed up there.
Tae 💚: Don’t think so much about it. It’s clear that you and Yoongi are work partners now, so no one will think twice about you being on the floor. Also, you can always come up and visit me. I’m down the hall from Yoongi’s room.
You: We’ll see.
Tae 💚: What? You don’t want to come up and see me? I always visit you. 😭
You: Fine, fine. I’ll come up to see you one of these days, but only you. I have no business knocking on Yoongi’s door while he’s busy with his album tracks.
Tired, you shut off your phone. Your thoughts drift back to the moments shared with Yoongi and Namjoon during lunch. It was nice getting to know Namjoon for the first time, as you’ve been curious about him since he’s been the leader of BTS for the past nine years. There’s a similarity you both share; leadership experience.
You feel like you got closer to Yoongi as well, with the way you both easily responded to each other’s quips. But where did that playful swat come from? That’s the kind of behavior you reserve for friends only. Was Yoongi starting to become more than a colleague?
The idea sends an unexpected rush through your veins.
With the first of December being tomorrow, it’s coming up on three weeks of working side by side with Yoongi. You meant it when you said working with him has been enjoyable, as you’ve found that his meticulous nature complements your own. His dry humor is one you’ve particularly come to appreciate too.
Yes, finding common ground on some decisions can be tricky. There have been moments where you’ve both stood firm on your perspectives, each believing in the merit of your ideas. However, even amid disagreement, there is always mutual respect extended toward each other. Yoongi listens intently, considering your points before responding, and you do the same for him.
Given the nature of it all, you have a feeling you’ll become better acquainted not only with Yoongi but also with the rest of his members. After all, you’re already best friends with Taehyung, who’s quite the networker. He’s been your anchor in this new environment since day one, to be honest, always ready with a smile or a word of encouragement.
Taking another sip of your tea, you lean your head back against the couch, staring up at the blank ceiling, lost in thought.
Tumblr media
You should truly learn to savor the quiet moments because, for the remainder of the week, you don’t get a second to spare. Lunch with Taehyung was abruptly cut short by an unforeseen team emergency, and Yoongi’s packed schedule left little room for more than fleeting glimpses. By the time Saturday morning rolls around, you consider yourself fortunate to have the weekend mostly free of work demands.
The crisp chill of early December invigorates you as you wake up refreshed, eager for the farmers market trip you’ve been looking forward to all week. After a quick breakfast, you bundle up in a cozy scarf and jacket and head to the familiar meeting spot where you and Taehyung always begin your market visits.
When you arrive, Taehyung is already there, a familiar baseball cap perched on his head to help keep a low profile. He looks up and waves when he sees you, a bright smile lighting up his face.
"Hey! You made it," Taehyung says as you approach.
"Of course, I wouldn't miss this," you reply, grinning back. "I need my mango and orange fix."
"Well, you're in luck. They have some really good ones today," he says, carefully pointing towards the nearby stalls that overflow with colorful fruits. The market appears to be alive with vibrant colors and enticing scents, and as the crowds grow, vendors enthusiastically call out their specials, adding to the lively atmosphere.
“See you on the other side?” you ask.
He nods, and you both venture into the market, maintaining an appropriate distance but always within sight. You exchange occasional glances and smiles while picking out the ripest mangos, juiciest oranges, and a few baskets of the strawberries he teased you about earlier in the week.
As you weave through the stalls, you soon get lost in the joy of discovering fresh, local products, comforted by the knowledge that Taehyung's just a few stalls away.
After about an hour, you reconvene at a quiet corner of the market, both carrying bags filled with fruits and other goodies.
"Successful haul?" Taehyung asks, eyeing your bags.
"Definitely," you reply, holding up a mango triumphantly. "How about you?"
"Got everything I wanted," he says, showing off his own bags filled with strawberries, grapes, and a few other items. "These will be perfect for a smoothie, or a fruit salad."
"How about we head back to my place and one of those? If you have time."
“Yes, I definitely have time,” he agrees, a genuine excitement in his voice.
Just as you start walking towards your apartment, a sudden movement catches your eye—a rogue orange rolling towards your feet.
Puzzled, you pick it up and look around, thinking it must have come from a nearby vendor or another shopper.
"Looks like you've found your orange," Taehyung remarks with a chuckle.
Just then, you spot a familiar figure sprinting towards you, with another following closely behind.
"Namjoon, seriously? I asked you to hold the bag for not even five seconds!" Yoongi calls out, his tone a mix of amusement and exasperation. "You're going to start a fruit-rolling revolution."
“Hey, it got away from me, man!” Namjoon defends his clumsiness, laughing. “Sorry about that," he adds sheepishly, not yet realizing who he's approaching.
“__-nim!” He abruptly stops in his tracks when he recognizes you and Taehyung in front of him. You offer the orange to him instinctively, feeling a bit startled.
“Thanks,” Namjoon says, taking the orange from your hand. He looks you straight in the eye, then at Taehyung before slowly breaking into a full smile. “I thought I saw the two of you back there, but Yoongi didn't believe me. When did you guys get here? Yoongi and I arrived about twenty minutes ago."
"About an hour ago," Taehyung replies casually.
"Man, you should have let us know. We could have come as a group!”
The remark catches you off guard, as this is the first time the four of you have been in such close proximity, let alone on a group outing.
Taehyung shrugs nonchalantly in response. “I had plans with __.”
Namjoon chuckles, glancing between all of you. “Well hey, I understand. I’m just saying, I’d be fun to hang out outside of work sometime.”
“But, this is our thing,” Taehyung counters, a bit possessively, in a platonic sense, of course.
Beside Namjoon, Yoongi stands with a single bag of oranges in his hand and nothing else. His eyes widen slightly at Taehyung's words, glancing at the bag of oranges nestled among the other fruits you're holding.
"You have a thing?" Yoongi asks, his tone a mix of genuine surprise and a hint of amusement.
"Yeah, we come here often," Taehyung answers, a small smile playing on his lips. "We're both fruit fanatics!"
"Right," Yoongi nods slowly, seeming to process this new information. "Well, it makes sense then. This is the best place to get the freshest fruit.”
“Is that a pineapple, Tae?” Namjoon’s eyes instantly light up when they spot the spiky fruit peeking out of one of Taehyung’s grocery bags.
A grin spreads across Taehyung’s face, like oil on water. “Yeah, it is. I found it at a little hidden stall. It’s easier to show you than to explain. I can take you over if you’d like.”
“Lead the way,” Namjoon agrees eagerly, then glances over at you and Yoongi. “You guys coming too?” You both exchange a quick look before shaking your head.
"We'll stay here," you say. "The crowd's a bit much."
"Alright, we’ll be back in a few minutes,” Taehyung nods. He and Namjoon begin weaving their way back into the bustling market, leaving you and Yoongi in the quiet corner.
Yoongi leans against a nearby wall and lets out a contented sigh. “This is nice. It’s been a hell of a week.”
You nod, taking a moment to appreciate the calmness as well. “It has. But look,” you gesture casually to each other’s bags, “at least we scored some amazing fruit from it.”
Yoongi chuckles softly. “So we did. I’m tempted to have one of my oranges now, but I think I'll save them for later. How’s the rest of the weekend looking for you by the way?”
Just some editing work for 'Suchwita' and maybe a bit of relaxation. What about you?"
“I might grab a few drinks with Namjoon, but I plan on spending most of my time in the studio. I’ve been fine-tuning my album tracks and recently discovered a new artist who’s been a huge source of inspiration.”
“Really?” You’re beyond intrigued, always open to hearing about new music. “Who are they?”
Yoongi gives you a knowing look. “I think you’re already pretty familiar with them.” A sparkle beams in his eyes as he waits for you to connect the dots. It takes you a few seconds before your entire face lights up with a big smile.
“No way,” you exclaim, “The Last Shadow Puppets?!”
He nods, returning your smile. Yoongi’s admission about The Last Shadow Puppets sends a warm thrill through you.
“I’m glad you gave them a listen,” you say with a pleased grin. “I consider Alex Turner to be one of the best, if not the best, lyricists of all time.”
“Well, I might just have to agree with you there. The depth of his lyrics are pretty damn genius. After you mentioned the band the other day, I got curious and decided to dive into their discography. I’ve listened to everything they’ve put out now, all in one sitting.” He pauses, a slight smirk playing on his lips.
It’s as if he’s proud to share this with you.
“I didn’t realize you had such an impressive ear for music, __-ssi,” he adds, teasing lightly.
“Excuse you? I’ve been known to have impeccable taste, for your information,” you fire back, feigning offense. "I might even have better taste than you."
Yoongi raises an eyebrow skeptically. “Is that so?”
You nod confidently. "Absolutely. I've got a knack for finding hidden gems."
“Alright then, impress me. Recommend me something else. What's the next masterpiece on your list?”
You lean in closer, a mischievous glint in your eye. “Oh, I could do that," you begin, "but then you'd owe me cigarettes for a week."
Yoongi's eyes widen slightly, a similar competitiveness reflecting in his gaze. "Bold words. Are you sure you can back them up?"
“There’s no doubt I can, Yoongi-ssi. Have you ever listened to 'Candy' by Paolo Nutini? If you haven't, you're seriously missing out."
"Candy? I don't think I know that one."
"You're in for a treat then,” you reply. "'Candy' is one of those songs that hook you from the first listen. Give it a try, and if you don't fall in love with it, I'll cook you kimchi jigae for lunch on Monday. But if you do love it, you're buying me cigarettes for a week."
Yoongi chuckles, unable to resist the challenge. "Alright, deal. I can't say no, especially with Taehyung showing off the food you make for him nearly every chance he gets. You’re quite the cook, it seems.”
With a satisfied grin, you pull out your phone. "I'll send you the link to the song so it'll be easier for you to find when you get a chance to listen."
Yoongi nods, already unlocking his phone. “Challenge accepted. But if I end up not loving it, I'm holding you to that bowl of kimchi jigae.”
“Sure thing,” you reply, unfazed. “But I’m already looking forward to those cigarettes, Yoongi-ssi. Make sure you get the good ones, okay?”
Yoongi chuckles in reply, shaking his head in amusement.
“I promise. Only the best ones for you, __-ssi.”

Monday arrives sooner than expected with the highly anticipated release of the first episode of 'Suchwita'. You're certain that the new production will be well received by the audience, but you know better than to prematurely declare its success. Even after approving the final edits over the weekend, you remind yourself to remain mindful of unexpected challenges lurking around the corner—roadblocks and last-minute changes that continually test your team's resolve.
Throughout the day, as the clock ticks towards evening, you monitor the episode's reception with bated breath. The first reviews trickle in within minutes, and initial viewer reactions are positive, gradually easing some of your tension.
By just past 7 pm, 'Suchwita' earns over three million views, its popularity evident as it spreads rapidly across the globe.
Amidst this whirlwind of emotions and the constant rush of notifications, a familiar buzz from your phone interrupts your thoughts.
Yoongi: Looks like I owe you some cigarettes
You smile, immediately recalling the recent wager the two of you made about Paolo Nutini's "Candy”. Truth be told, Yoongi’s reaction to the song has kept you on edge for days.
You: So, do you believe I have a good ear for music now? 🙃 I’m pleased you enjoyed the song, by the way.
Yoongi: It appears I do. The cigarettes are in my production room. Come by if you're up for it.
You blink at the screen, taken aback. Yoongi's producing room was his sanctuary, a place so personal and significant that the thought of being in that space felt almost invasive. You recall his casual remark last Wednesday about coming up to take a look, though it was unclear if it was just banter or a genuine invitation.
You: You sure it's okay for me to come up there? I don't want to disturb your creative zone.
Sending the message, you wait, half-expecting him to retract the invitation or reassure you in some way. Instead, his reply comes almost instantly.
Yoongi: It's quiet here, and I wouldn’t mind some good company.
Your mind wrestles with curiosity and caution as you reread the text. After a moment's deliberation, you type your response.
You: Okay, I can come up for a few minutes
Once in front of the 17th floor where Yoongi’s production room is located, you pull out your phone to send him a text, notifying him of your arrival and the need to be let in. Just as you're about to send the message, however, the door suddenly swings open.
Standing before you is a man with soft eyes, gently pushing the door open. It's Park Jimin, looking visibly surprised to find you standing just inches away from the entrance. Behind him, Jungkook nearly bumps into him from the abrupt halt.
"Hey there," Jimin says, his surprise quickly transforming into a welcoming smile. "You must be __-nim, Yoongi's marketing manager, right?"
You nod, slightly unprepared for how quickly they've identified you. "Yes, that's me. Nice to meet you, Jimin, Jungkook," you reply warmly, extending your hand in greeting. Meeting them was inevitable, but you didn’t expect it to happen tonight.
Jungkook grins and nods in acknowledgment. "Nice to meet you too, __-nim. I’m guessing you’re here to see Yoongi-hyung?”
“For a little bit, yes.”
"Come on in then.” Jimin steps aside, gesturing for you to enter. “If Yoongi's expecting you, you're more than welcome. We'd take you straight to him if we weren't rushing off to a last-minute photoshoot. His room's just down the hall on the left. You can’t miss it."
“I completely understand,” you assure them gratefully. “Thank you both. It was nice meeting you.”
With a final smile, the pair exits the floor, leaving you to continue down the hallway.
It doesn't take long before you spot a slightly ajar door on the far left, casting a warm glow into the corridor—undeniably Yoongi’s production room. Without hesitation, you approach and knock gently on the dark oak, but there's no response. Trying again yields the same silence, leaving you uncertain if he can hear you. Deciding it may be better to push the door open, you do so with caution.
Inside Yoongi's production room, the atmosphere is cozy, filled with an array of musical instruments, a decent-sized couch, scattered music sheets, and a softly glowing computer screen displaying complex audio tracks. Taehyung and Namjoon were absolutely right when they said his space is immaculate because as you take in the details around you, you too conclude that it’s one of a kind.
Yoongi himself is at his desk, leaning over with an expression of intense focus. You're prepared to make a playful remark to capture his attention, but as Yoongi looks up, his bloodshot eyes stop you short. They are reddened and slightly glazed, with dark circles underneath—a stark contrast to the usual sharpness and clarity in his gaze. Even his posture seems weighed down by exhaustion, indicating just how hard he's been pushing himself, perhaps too hard.
“I see you found the place alright," he smiles weakly, though he does his best to keep his tone uplifted. "I’m glad you could come."
“Yoongi-ssi, are you okay?” You can’t stop yourself from asking, concern only tightening in your chest as you realize the extent of the strain he must be under.
Yoongi chuckles, rubbing his eyes as if to wipe away the fatigue etched into his face. “I might have overdone it this weekend,” he confesses, his voice heavy with weariness. “I’ve been working on this track nonstop, trying to get it just right. I just don’t think it’s good enough yet, and the minute I think I’ve finally made a break though, I’m back to square one.” Seeing him so drained and filled with self-doubt stirs something protective within you.
“Your work is incredible, Yoongi-ssi,” you say, your voice gentle but firm. “You pour so much of yourself into it, constantly striving for perfection, and that dedication is admirable. But sometimes, it’s important to take a step back, breathe, and allow yourself to be proud of your work. I believe in your talent as both an artist and a producer, and I'm confident that your music will be exactly what it needs to be.”
Yoongi looks at you for a moment, his tired eyes searching yours as if assessing your sincerity. Slowly, a small, appreciative smile forms on his lips. "Thanks," he murmurs, the weariness in his voice tempered by a hint of gratitude. "I think I needed to hear some of that tonight.”
Without another word, he leans back in his chair, letting out a deep sigh. His shoulders visibly relax, and for a brief moment, the weight of exhaustion seems to ease.
"Do you want to talk about what you've been working on?” you ask. “Sometimes bouncing ideas around helps."
Yoongi nods slowly, looking thoughtful. "Maybe that's exactly what I need right now," he admits, his tone more relaxed than before. He gestures to the leather couch near his desk, inviting you to sit.
As you settle into the comfortable leather couch, Yoongi begins to share his thoughts. He speaks about the challenges he's encountered with the track, detailing moments of doubt and frustration.
"I've been wrestling with this melody for weeks," he admits, leaning forward slightly. "It's like I can hear it in my head, but every time I try to put it down, it slips away."
He describes how he struggled to find the right melody, the perfect rhythm, and the lyrics that would convey exactly what he wanted to express.
"I want this track to resonate with people on a deeper level," he says earnestly, his eyes reflecting his determination. “But it's been tough trying to balance the beat with the lyrics."
As he delves deeper into his creative process, you notice a shift in his demeanor. His voice becomes more animated, his gestures more expressive as he shares anecdotes about late-night studio sessions, where ideas flowed freely, and moments of clarity when everything seemed to click into place.
"It's moments like those," he reflects with a smile, "that remind me why I love what I do."
Throughout the conversation, you offer supportive nods and occasional insights, encouraging Yoongi to explore different angles or suggesting ideas that might complement his vision. It becomes clear that bouncing ideas around, as you suggested earlier, is indeed helping him to clarify his thoughts and reignite his creative spark.
"You know," he muses after a thoughtful pause, "it's rare to find someone who gets it—understands the drive, the struggle. Most people just see the end result, not what it takes to get there."
You nod again, silently acknowledging the depth of what he shares. "I'm glad I can be here for you," you reply sincerely. "It means a lot that you trust me with this."
"Would you like a drink? Some whiskey, maybe?" Yoongi pops the question out of nowhere, catching you off guard, yet you don’t decline the offer.
"Sure, but only if you promise to get some rest after," you counter, half-joking, half-serious. He chuckles in response.
Rising from his seat, Yoongi walks to a small cabinet and pulls out a bottle of whiskey along with two glasses. As he pours the amber liquid, the room seems to exhale with him, the earlier tension melting away.
"Mind if I sit with you?" he asks, handing you a glass of whiskey and gesturing to the space beside you on the couch.
You nod in acceptance and take a sip of your drink, feeling the warmth of the whiskey spread through you.
"Thanks for coming up here," Yoongi says, his voice noticeably more relaxed than before. ”I didn't realize how much I needed a break until tonight.”
You nod, understanding the weight of creative pressures and the relentless pursuit of perfection. "It's important to recharge," you reply gently, raising your glass. "To moments like this—where we can step back and just be."
Yoongi clinks his glass against yours, a faint smile playing on his lips. "To moments like this," he echoes, taking a sip.
As the conversation flows, the evening unfolds into a rhythm of shared stories, musings about life, and occasional quiet moments where the only sound is the soft hum of the room.
“__-ssi,” he starts, swirling the whiskey in his glass, "I should really get you up here more often. This could be a thing. Whiskey breaks in my producing room."
You laugh, the sound light and genuine. "Count me in," you reply, raising your glass once more.
"And before I forget," Yoongi chuckles, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, "I owe you for introducing me to some new, kick-ass music."
"Why, thank you," you reply with a smile. "Much appreciated. You got the good kind too. You spoil me, Yoongi-ssi."
“You’re welcome. Can I be honest for a second though?”
“Sure.”
“Part of me was actually hoping I’d dislike ‘Candy’ because I had a feeling you make a mean kimchi jigae. But the song was too good; I had to pay it respect.”
“I told you you’d fall in love with it, Yoongi-ssi” you say, perhaps a bit cheekier than intended. “Let's start a new wager: I'll make my special homemade kimchi jigae for you.”
"Really?" His eyes light up like a kid on Christmas day.
"Yes, I will," you giggle, "as long as you keep taking my music recommendations."
"Deal," he says firmly, setting down his glass. He extends his hand for you to shake, and you both laugh at his sudden goofiness. “Thanks again for tonight, __-ssi, for everything.”
“Of course,” you reply. “I told you we’re teammates now, didn’t I?”
“After tonight, I think we could be friends too.”
As you both linger in the moment, the studio's door swings open, and a voice calls out, "Hey, Yoongi, are you still here?"
Yoongi glances towards the door and then back at you with a playful smirk. "Looks like I've got more company," he says, nodding towards the doorway.
I’ll let you get back to work," you say, gesturing towards his mixing board. "Can't wait to hear more of these tracks."
"Thanks," he says warmly, appreciating your encouragement. "And about that kimchi jigae…"
"You haven't forgotten?" you tease, raising an eyebrow.
“Never,” he replies with a grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
With a final wave, you leave Yoongi to his work, wondering if perhaps being friends wasn't so far-fetched after all. Only time would tell.

What would you consider to be the defining characteristics of Roy? Like what makes Roy Harper well Roy Harper?
Please and Thank You ☺️
Hi! That is a really great question
Okay the first defining characteristic is easy to answer: love. Romantic, platonic, familial etc. He loves so strongly, and once he’s loved someone once he’s pretty much gonna love them forever. You can see it with Lian (which I think is particularly present during Lian’s early appearances- baby Lian era- but is also very evident all throughout her existence), you can see it with how he never stopped loving Jade, you can see it with how he lets his heart get broken for Donna, you can see it with Dick and Ollie and Dinah and everyone important to his life, and regardless of if these people hurt him he’s still gonna love them. Which leads onto his second defining characteristic-
Forgiveness, and emotional honesty. In my opinion, a good Roy Harper does not hold grudges, at least not for very long. This is something that I think’s most interestingly demonstrated in Titans (1999) #15, wherein the Fab Five are all on an island together where their emotions are being manipulated to turn them against each other. And the main reason I think this issue in particular is so interesting is because when everyone else is there bringing up resentments and grudges, particularly towards Roy, Roy doesn’t. The only times that it could be argued that Gargoyle’s manipulating Roy’s emotions to make him more hostile, it’s always in direct response to something else that’s happened there- take, Dick insulting Roy and calling him unreliable, for example. And when you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. Roy’s generally perceived as the “hothead” of the group and, while I don’t like it that much as a negative connotation (though there are undoubtedly some moments where it is a negative), it is in a way true. He’s very much an immediate responder- he won’t let things fester, he’ll immediately call things out when he doesn’t like them, and then once he’s gotten that out in the air he’ll drop it even without any apology (which, to be honest, 9/10 times he does not get an apology). He doesn’t hold grudges because he takes action immediately against things he doesn’t like, and then ends it there once he’s voiced his thoughts. He forgives incredibly easily, which unfortunately has made him a bit of a punching bag among his friends- everybody knows Roy as the one who doesn’t hold things against you, and so they don’t have many reservations about calling him a junkie or insulting him (which as a little aside is why I love Roy punching Dick in Outsiders so much- this isn’t a new occurrence, people have been calling him a junkie for years, but he actually stands up for himself which. Good for you baby.) Obviously this isn’t always the case, and a really interesting casual observation I’ve made recently is that it’s definitely something that came about more after Lian was born. I haven’t thought about this in great depth before, so I’m not taking into account the original Teen Titans run because it’s currently 5am and I cannot be arsed to reread it all looking for panels that back up my point, but Roy’s emotional honesty was definitely not as key pre-Lian as it after she came into his life, particularly surrounding Ollie. Maybe I’ll make a separate post about this at some point when I’ve thought about it more, but essentially my point is that Roy promised Lian that he wouldn’t lie to her, and a part of not lying is being more open and honest in all aspects of your life.
And then the next is Roy’s abandonment issues. Is he even Roy Harper if he doesn’t have abandonment issues. A key part of Roy’s relationships is that he expects them end, he expects everything to go wrong and for him to be once again left on his own. The most clear example of this is with Donna, particularly their relationship in Titans ‘99. In #5, he asks her on their date “With all the great guys in your life, why the hell are you out here with me?” To which her answer is essentially he’s not Dick, Garth, Wally, or Kyle, nothing about who he is, just who he’s not, which she later expands on in #6 by saying she wanted to date him for his “reputation”, so she could be seen as less of a nice girl, which again, isn’t really saying anything about Roy as a person, just what function he can provide as a boyfriend at that time. And then again in #15 (have I mentioned before that the Gargoyle storyline is one of the absolute best stories for Roy analysis? Because it is) when Donna tells Roy that she doesn’t intend on staying with him, saying “when we break up”, Roy just… leaves. Which I think is a really interesting juxtaposition against the last point I made, it’s one of the few instances where Roy actually can’t immediately voice his feelings because he just can’t handle having his fears confirmed one more time, he has to leave. And then when Donna and Roy finally have their heart to heart at the end of Donna’s “who is” arc (I can’t remember the exact issue), Roy has this… one split second, one single panel where you can see his pain, before he puts a mask on to go back to the carefree Roy Harper, essentially telling her he’s glad he chose her out of everyone to experiment and that he’ll always love her regardless of if they’re in a relationship, despite the fact Donna doesn’t really acknowledge his feelings- just Lian’s. I just think it’s really interesting how Roy’s usual openness about his emotions isn’t as present with Donna, and he’s way more likely to lie to her to hide his pain. And Roy’s abandonment issues are so important throughout his story- he can’t stand being alone, he’s hardly ever a solo hero, but he expects it. There are a lot of reasons why Roy got addicted to drugs, but the main one which was present in both the original Snowbirds comic (through Roy’s speech about how “someone” might turn to drugs in order to deal with an “older friend” leaving them) and his Secret Origins story is that he turned to drugs because he couldn’t handle Ollie leaving. I’m not gonna go into depth with Snowbirds here, I’ve already done that a lot, but his abandonment issues are absolutely a core part of his character particularly in the fact he’s proven right so often. But what’s most interesting is something I made a post about before is that Roy’s abandonment issues don’t manifest in the way you’d expect. Usually, a character who has abandonment issues will hide themself away, not let anybody close for fear of being hurt again. Roy? His arms are always open. He will let them into his life, fully expecting them to hurt him, and he’ll do this again and again and again. He’s attracted to it like a moth to a flame- he can’t be alone, he’s an extrovert to the highest degree, and he keeps getting his heart broken because it’s always on his sleeve.
There’s a lot more I could talk about here, but I’ve been typing for like an hour and my fingers hurt now. I hope this is satisfactory :)

"You seal my heart away!" (Selkie! Kyle "Gaz" Garrick x GN! Reader P.1)
Warnings: None, no pronouns are mentioned other than 'you'
You moved into a little seaside town after your grandparents gave you their house. You end up getting acquainted with the town's seal theme and the friendly pretty guy visiting his family.
Tumblr media
Moving to your grandparents' little seaside town house wasn't as bad as you thought it’d be. You settled in nicely, the town welcomed your arrival.
You decided to explore the main strip of the town, where all the little shops and cafes were. It was a blazing summer day, people were out and about doing their own shopping or enjoying the day. You could hear some kids laughing while playing at the beach just further down. You then decided to get yourself a drink at a cafe, mostly as a way to treat yourself after all the work of moving. You walked over to the one that won the game eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
“Sealvester’s, huh?” You mumbled under your breath, looking up at the little sign above the door that had a seal wrapped around a coffee cup. It was cute… and you noticed the town seemed to lean heavily on the seal/beach theme.
“It’s not very original if I'm being honest…” you heard someone pipe up beside you. You turned your head to look at said person. You gave him a startled look since he seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
He gave you a bright smile.
“Sorry for startling you, I just couldn't help but notice you staring at the sign,” he muses. Your face heated up in embarrassment.
“Ah- I was just… I don't know, taking it all in?” You finally answered with a shrug. You weren't entirely sure why you stood in front of the Cafe like some kinda weirdo. You felt more embarrassed that someone caught you. He gave you a friendly chuckle before opening the door for you.
“No need to be embarrassed,” he spoke, reassuring you that it was fine. Obviously you were going to take the new place in. You thanked him quickly before walking inside, he soon followed after you as you both got in line.
The cafe was very homely, with blue and white as their main interior colours. The counter where the barista took orders from was in the shape of a boat. It was a bit packed with people sitting at the tables and enjoying their lunch, the line was also pretty long. You looked over to your right and noticed photos of some seals that were on the wall, they had names under the photos.
One stood out to you, a seal named ‘Gaz’ who had a handsome brown and black spotted coat and big brown eyes. The man observed you staring at the photo and piped up once more.
“That one’s real friendly if you ever run into him on the beach,” he chuckled.
“The seal?” You questioned.
“Yeah, him and his group, real friendly bunch, and cute,” he added with a smile.
“Oh, well, I hope I get to see him,” you smiled back.
“You probably will soon, lil’ guy is known for coming up to cute things like you,” he beamed.
Your face suddenly felt hot, no way this guy was flirting with you. You looked away from the photo and towards the man, deciding to give him a hard time.
“Ah, so, I’m a thing now? That’s rude…” You snickered while crossing your arms in mock hurt. He paused, taking in a moment to digest your words. He shook his head as his smile grew wider, it seemed a bit shy.
“No, definitely not!- You know what I mean…” Was all he could get out, before it was your turn to order. Looking over the menu above the barista’s head you mulled over your options. Sadly, it didn’t look like they had any fun seal themed items, so you quickly ordered a drink that sounded good- one with strawberries and whipped cream. You paid before shuffling over to the pick up area then waited for them to call out your order. The man from earlier slid up beside you.
“I just realised I never introduced myself, I’m Kyle.” He spoke, bringing up his hand for a handshake. You took it, giving it three firm shakes while also introducing yourself.
“Are you visiting or anything?” He decided to ask.
“Oh, no- my grandparents left me their house here so… I thought I might as well move in, there wasn't anything back in my hometown anyway,” you explained. Although it wasn’t as simple as that, you gave yourself a year to think heavily on the subject. But you hated the thought of your grandparents' house going to waste when they worked so hard to make it a home. Plus, you didn’t want to sell the place since it had fond memories attached to it.
“Helena and Arthur?” The man inquired, you were a bit surprised he knew.
“Yeah, how’d you know?”
“My mum, she was friendly with them, they happened to mention they were moving away. Said they were giving their house to their grandkid,” he clarified.
“Oh, yeah, that makes much more sense,” You nodded along, “So, are you just visiting?”
“Yeah, I’m on leave and decided to visit my family… plus, I have a family event,” Kyle shrugged.
They called out your order and you grabbed your drink. The condensation from it felt nice considering it was pretty warm outside. You pulled it towards you and took a small sip. Turning to face Kyle, you finally got a good look at him. He was very pretty, sporting the most beautiful brown eyes.
“Wow, you have really pretty eyes…” You mumbled out, he looked a bit taken back but quickly recovered with a shy chuckle. You froze once you realised what you said and felt your face heat up, again.
“Sorry- that was really out of the blue, um… Anyway, I should probably get going, it was nice meeting you Kyle!” You awkwardly stumbled on your feet walking in and out the cafe’s doors. You gripped your drink as you walked by the window, feeling his eyes on you as you passed.
That wasn’t mortifying at all.
-
“Wow, what a flirt, so… why didn’t you ask for his number again?” Your friend spoke through the phone. She was enjoying this immensely, laughing as you recalled what you were up to this morning. You were taking a stroll through the empty beach, the sun was low on the horizon as the water lapped on your feet. It was pretty calm and quiet in the evenings here you noticed, the weather cooling down had warded off the beach goers.
“Uh, because I just got here? I wasn’t thinking of nabbing his number off him,” you mumbled out lamely and your friend laughed. You just sighed fondly, hoping that sooner or later she could come visit. You bet she get a kick out of the seal theme they’ve got going on.
“But other than that, what else did you see there?”
“Well, there was this-” You paused, spotting something in the distance, a little ways away from you. It looked like a little blob of brown and grey. Your friend asked what was wrong while you cautiously walked closer…. When you did get closer you noticed it was a seal. They were just lounging around, content as could be. They had a nice brown and black spotted coat and brown eyes, which felt familiar to you…
It was Gaz.
This is your first time seeing a seal this close. He didn’t seem to mind you, he acknowledged you with a tilt of the head before plopping his head back down on the sand and rolling over to show his stomach.
“Hey, are you okay??” You finally heard your friend yell into the phone. You yelped and quickly pulled the phone away from your ear.
“Yeah- sorry… There’s a seal lounging on the beach right in front of me,” you explained. You looked around for other seals in the area but there seemed to be only Gaz. He was staring at you now, probably observing you to make sure you didn’t try anything. You were a good distance away in case he decided he had a problem with you.
“Ohhh jeez, I thought you were in trouble… Well, I guess that explains the town's seal theme,” your friend chuckled.
“Yeah, that’s true-” you were cut off when you saw Gaz roll back on his stomach, he started galumphing towards you. You froze, watching Gaz galumph towards you like he was on a mission. You started backing away, you were not about to be mauled by a seal on your first day. This just seemed to make him hone in faster on you.
“Oh my god!” You shrieked into the phone.
“What- what??” Your friend sounded panicked.
You couldn’t get anything in before Gaz was upon you. With his front flippers he started swatting at your leg, but he was being very gentle about it considering his claws. After a few more swats, Gaz rolled onto his back again and looked at you expectantly. He stared at you and you swore the pool of brown would swallow you whole. The seal sneezed before tilting his head again.
“Uh… I don’t know what he wants,” You finally spoke.
“What do you mean? The seal?”
“Yeah he got closer… and he’s just staring at me…” You explained.
“That’s weird… I wouldn’t touch it if I were you,” your friend warned.
“I wasn’t planning on it but- they are literally at my feet!” You stared at Gaz before looking over at the way you came, he swatted at your leg again to get your attention, then looked pointedly at their stomach.
“Does the seal want me to pet him…?” You vocalized to your friend. The seal moved their head up and down like it was nodding along at your question.
“Is that even allowed?” Your friend asked.
“Um…. I don’t think it is?” you frowned before just deciding to go for it, as stupid as that decision was. You were dealing with a wild animal, but Kyle’s words from earlier rang in your head.
“That one’s real friendly if you ever run into him on the beach.”
“You probably will soon, lil’ guy is known for coming up to cute things like you.”
Well, if you did get mauled at least he was cute. You gently placed your hand on his stomach, soothing over the fur lightly. Gaz was content with this and relaxed more, it almost sounded like he was purring. At that point you finished your conversation with your friend before hanging up the phone. You stayed a little while longer, cautiously petting the seal. A little while after when the sky was now turning a dark blue, Gaz perked up when he heard a noise, rolling back on his stomach and galumping towards the water. He disappeared into the waves.
You stared at the spot he occupied before looking out at the water. His imprint was left in the sand and your mind, you weren’t sure what to make of this encounter. Dusting off your hands you headed off towards your house, hoping you wouldn’t run into any more seals that wanted to be pet.

Tumblr media
summary: the night of your wedding and the month after word count. 2.5k cw. marriage pact au, fluff, suggestive a/n. if you want to be added to the taglist, please just send me ask!♡ and... i love cutie patootie kiyoomi •ᴗ• Masterlist
Your wedding has finally come to an end. The guests are saying their goodbyes to you and Kiyoomi. Most of the wedding guests are family and friends, although there are also some of your coworkers and Kiyoomi's teammates from MSBY and the national volleyball team. The only ones staying at the hotel are you, Kiyoomi, and both of your parents.
Before heading home, Komori, who also served as Kiyoomi’s groomsman, comes over to bid farewell. He raises both hands and exclaims, “You guys!” Then, he half-whispers, “I’m so happy you both decided to do this. Just go with the flow, eventually, everything will fall into place.” You furrow your brows, not quite understanding his words. “What??” you ask. But he brushes you off, “Anyway! Does this mean our meetups will be me third wheeling you both?!” You roll your eyes at this. Komori grins, “I’ll just invite my wife along!” Kiyoomi responds, “Of course, you can do that.” Komori cheers, “Woohoo!” You exchange glances with Kiyoomi and mouth to him, “I think he’s drunk.” Kiyoomi scoffs at that.
Next, Tami comes up to you both, hugging you and offering her congratulations. “You look so beautiful, I’m fucking crying, you know?!” she says. You laugh and thank her. She then turns to Kiyoomi, “Treat her right, okay?” emphasizing the word ‘treat’ while winking. You groan, “Stop, will you?!” She chuckles and hands you what seems to be a goody bag. As you observe it, you realize it’s a gift. You hug her once more. Tami adds, “Please open it and give me an honest review!” You squint your eyes at her words but then thank her again before she leaves.
After saying goodbye to a few more guests, the last ones are your bridesmaids. You thank them profusely and the four of you share a group hug before they finally leave. Now, it’s just you, Kiyoomi, and your parents.
Kiyoomi’s mother approaches you. “Take a good rest, okay? Both of you.” she smiles and squeezes Kiyoomi’s hand. Then, she turns to you and gently caresses the side of your head. “Okay?” she asks again. Kiyoomi nods. You smile reassuringly and answer, “Okay.” You look behind his mom and notice that both of your parents and Kiyoomi’s father are still sitting at the dinner table, waving their hands. You take Kiyoomi’s hand and approach them to excuse yourselves, which they nod enthusiastically.
You and Kiyoomi will have a room together. For obvious reason. So, you head to your room together, carrying the wedding gifts you received.
You step inside your hotel room, a spacious suite with a large living room. Your suitcases are already there. The living room is decorated with soft, warm lighting from the lamps, and rose petals are scattered around, giving it a romantic ambiance. You slip out of your heels and groan, feeling the relief in your feet. Kiyoomi follows behind you.
As you enter the room, you notice the rose petals on the bed and giggle. Kiyoomi looks at you quizzically. “What?” he asks.
“Nothing. This is just so cute,” you reply, smiling at him.
He hesitates before saying, “You can take the room. I’ll just sleep on the couch.”
You respond quickly, “Don’t be ridiculous!” You don’t want to make him sleep on the couch. There’s no harm in sleeping together on the bed. Unless… is it a problem for him? Leaning on the door, you ask, “Omi, is there a problem? The couch is too small for you. It’s better if I’m the one who sleeps there.”
Kiyoomi looks uncomfortable. “Please don’t. It’s just…” He seems hesitant, so you wait for him to continue. “I just never share a bed with anyone.”
You raise your eyebrows in surprise. “What? I thought you used to have sleepovers with Komori?”
Kiyoomi scratches his head, looking slightly embarrassed. “Uh, he kinda just sleeps in the other room.”
Okay. So, he really values his personal space. You sigh. “Okay, I’ll take the couch then.”
Kiyoomi shakes his head. “No. Please. I’ll take it.”
You insist, “Omi, seriously, look at that couch. It’s small. There’s no way you could sleep comfortably there!”
The two of you argue for a few minutes until Kiyoomi finally sighs in resignation. “Okay. Let’s just sleep on the bed.”
You’re silent for a moment, not wanting to overstep his boundaries. “Omi, I don’t know. I don’t want to force you to do something you’re not comfortable with.”
Kiyoomi gently takes your hand. “No, please. Let’s just sleep on the bed.”  His touch is reassuring, and you both walk inside the room.
After that, you start to remove your makeup and change into your pajamas—a silky short-sleeve button-up and matching shorts. You wait your turn to use the bathroom to brush your teeth, wash your face, and apply skincare. A few moments later, Kiyoomi is done. Your eyes widen when you see him shirtless, wearing only his black shorts for sleep. Damn, his body is really the embodiment of years playing volleyball. You quickly look away, not wanting him to catch you ogling.
“Oh. You’re done,” you say, your voice cracking slightly, making you want to slap your face.
“Yeah,” he answers.
When you come out of the bathroom, you thank God to see that he has put on a shirt. Before sleeping, you suggest opening the wedding gifts together in the living room, and he agrees. Most of the wedding gifts are small and cute home decor items, like candles and picture frames. You stack the gifts on the table, then glance at Kiyoomi, who is reading a note from one of the gifts with furrowed brows.
You take a look at the gift and are surprised to see a white piece of lacy lingerie. Quickly snatching the box from his lap, you notice the bag. Of course, it’s Tami’s gift. Kiyoomi looks at you with a confused expression.
“Can I see the note?” you ask.
He hands you the note obediently. It reads, ‘have fun strutting your stuff in this lingerie! pls give me a review of how he reacts!! xoxo’
You cover your face, feeling your cheeks heat up. “I’m sorry. She’s always like that.”
Kiyoomi just stares at you. Shit. His lack of response leaves you flustered and unsure of what to say next.
After that embarassing moment, you finish unpacking the last box and head to the bed. As you lay down and take your side of the bed, you feel a tad bit awkward, never having been in this position with him before. You glance at Kiyoomi, who is lying on his back with both hands on his stomach, staring at the ceiling. Your eyes catch the glint of the wedding ring on his finger, reminding you of a question you've been meaning to ask.
"Hey," you say softly.
He turns his head towards you. "Hm?"
"I've been wondering, when did you buy the ring?"
"Huh?" he responds, sounding slightly confused.
"The wedding ring that you gave me when we were planning this last month."
"Oh. I think around New Year's," he replies.
"Like, exactly on the 1st of January?" you ask, curious.
He hums in confirmation.
"Don’t tell me you bought it as soon as the reminder you set appeared?" you laugh incredulously.
"I did, actually," he admits.
You laugh, "You’re really something else."
"What if I’d been dating someone else?" you tease him.
"No, you weren’t," he says with certainty.
"What? Don’t be so sure! You don’t know!" you start to playfully kick him, annoyed at his confidence.
"I do know for sure. I asked Komori. That’s when I told him about our plan," he reveals.
You recall Komori inquiring about your love life when Kiyoomi wasn't around. You chuckle at his response and glance at the ring on his finger. "Can I see that?"
He notices you looking at his ring and moves closer, extending his hand to you. You compare his ring with yours, seeing how perfectly they match.
"These rings are beautiful," you say, admiring the way they catch the moonlight streaming in through the open curtains.
"You know, I kinda miss your mom. It’s been a while since we saw each other," you mention, turning your head to him and catching him already looking at you.
"I know, she always asks about you. She really likes you," Kiyoomi replies.
"And you never told me that she asks about me." You squint your eyes at him playfully.
He actually smiles, "Yeah, sorry about that."
After a bit more conversation, you both start to feel sleepy. You roll onto your respective sides of the bed, having some distance in between. Only to find both of you sleeping so close to each other in the morning.
Tumblr media
It’s been about a month since your marriage, and all of your belongings have been moved to Kiyoomi's apartment. You have a room for yourself, bigger than your previous one. Apart from moving out, one of the striking changes you feel is how people react to you. The news of your marriage has spread, and you can see it on social media. Not fond of being the center of attention, you made your Instagram private, avoiding unknown comments on your posts. At work, people from different divisions also try to peek into your room, whisper as you pass by, or stare at you for too long in the elevator. It’s a bit unsettling, but you know it’ll pass.
Despite the external commotion, adjusting to life with Kiyoomi has been pleasant. Living with him feels like having the best roommate you could ask for, making you sometimes forget that you're actually married to him. Every morning, you wake up around the same time. His apartment has two bathrooms, so there’s never a problem there. True to his nature, Kiyoomi is exceptionally clean and diligent in keeping the apartment tidy. While you’re not messy, you’re definitely not as meticulous as he is. His cleaning skills are a welcomed part of the chore division.
You take on most of the cooking, though not all the time. Occasionally, you both decide to order takeout. The idea of you cooking is mostly because you want healthier food consumed for both of you. You always ask about his diet plan and adjust the meals accordingly, constantly seeking his honest feedback. So far, there have been no complaints; he finishes everything on his plate.
Sundays are your designated grocery shopping day for the month. The arrangement for who pays for groceries has been completely ignored by Kiyoomi. Despite your attempts to take turns paying, he insists on covering the cost, leading to arguments at the cashier if you don't back down.
You’ve also let go of all your side jobs, giving you more free time than you’ve ever had. Kiyoomi, on the other hand, has been busy with his schedule. The volleyball season is nearing, and he’s been practicing a lot and also doing a few interviews with his team.
Tonight is Friday night, and you’re sitting in the living room, reading a novel recommended by a friend but haven’t read it until now because you used to be so hectic with work. Dinner is already prepared, and you’re feeling relaxed when you hear the apartment door open, signaling Kiyoomi's return.
"Hey," you greet him with a smile as he walks in.
"Hey," he replies hoarsely. Upon closer inspection, you notice that he looks paler than usual, his cheeks are flushed, and he seems more exhausted than ever. You immediately get up and approach him as he heads to the kitchen to wash his hands.
"Are you okay?" you ask with concern.
"I'm fine, just a bit of a cough," he replies, but you observe his forehead glistening with sweat despite the chill in the room. Instinctively, you press your hand to his cheek, making his eyes widen.
"No, you’re not. You’re burning, Omi," you say firmly.
"I can’t be sick; tomorrow is a practice match," he frowns, looking frustrated with himself.
"But you can’t be playing like this," you counter. "Let's get you more comfortable."
You guide him to the couch, feeling the heat radiating from his body. Heading back to the kitchen, you prepare some tea with honey and lemon, knowing the soothing warmth always helps when you are sick. While the kettle boils, you grab a bottle of water and bring it to him. "You need to stay hydrated," you reminded him gently, helping him take a few sips. Back in the kitchen, you scoop the food you made earlier. Luckily, you made fish soup. It will feel nice for his sore throat.
Returning with the tea and a couple of fever-reducing tablets, you instruct, "Here, drink this and take these." He complies, too tired to argue, and you watch as he slowly sips the warm liquid, the steam rising to soothe his congested sinuses.
You sit beside him, holding his hand and gently rubbing circles on his skin with your thumb. "Please, just rest, okay? If you’re lucky, you could be healthy by Monday. But if you keep forcing yourself, this could get worse." He just stares weakly at you, saying nothing.
As the night wears on, you take him to his room. Realizing you’ve never been inside his room before, you take in the tidy, mostly plain decor with black as the dominant color and a few brown accents. Volleyball gear is organized in the corner, and his desk holds pictures of his winning moments in matches, including a photo of you, him, and Komori at your high school graduation. You smile at the memory.
You make sure the blankets are adjusted properly as he mumbles, "I need to get better," frustration clear in his voice.
"You'll get there. Just rest now. Your body needs time to heal," you reassure him.
He mumbles something you can’t quite hear, so you ask, "Hm?"
"I want to practice," he repeats. You giggle at his stubbornness, noting that he’s more talkative than usual, likely due to the fever. He continues, "I want to practice and train, paying attention and succeeding until the day I play my last game."
You realize how dedicated Kiyoomi is to his work, which explains why he is one of the best volleyball players in the country. You’ve always admired his dedication and felt proud of his progress since the day you met him. Feeling a surge of warm emotion, you take his hand and gently run your fingers through his hair.
"Omi, you’ll get better. Accidents happen no matter how well you prepare; there’ll always be something unexpected," you say softly. He stares at you weakly as you continue, "Please, just rest for now. Let me take care of you, and let’s hope the fever will subside soon."
He closes his eyes as you run your hand through his hair. Then, he squeezes your hand and says, "Okay."
"Okay," you echo, smiling at him. "I’m always so proud of you, Omi," you add, your voice filled with sincerity. You both hold hands and stare at each other for a while. Until you say, "I’ll let you sleep. I put the water here." You get up, pressing your hand one last time to his forehead to check his fever. He nods at you in acknowledgment.
In the morning after you wake up, the first thing you do is check on him. Tiptoeing into his room, you feel relieved and glad to see that his fever has started to subside, and his breathing seems more relaxed.

Yeah, so I’ve been seeing this for a while and I’ve finally come out to speak about it. This is not to cause drama, so if you see this and reply in a passive-aggressive manner, you’ll most-likely either be blocked out your comment will be deleted.
Okay so, y’all know how I’m in the Osmosis Jones fandom, right? You guys also know that I am a minor, so this is coming from a younger person’s perspective as well.
To get straight to the point: I’ve been looking through the main Osmosis Jones tag, and most of the stuff I’m met with is porn from accounts like Kharsagi, and supporters like JellyFishSun, stuff like that. And to be completely honest, it’s beginning to make me uncomfortable. And I’m sure that it makes a lot of people, minors or not, uncomfortable as well.
Am I saying that I hate not-safe content and such in general? No, but I AM saying that simply telling people that it’s a ‘minor DNI’ page isn’t going to stop minors from interacting, and as a grown adult you know damn well that kids will come across it as some point.
“You can just block them!” That doesn’t change what I have seen already, and that doesn’t change anything when it comes down to other minors seeing it as well. Not only that, but there’s adults on this app/Twitter that I’m sure who’ll agree.
“They are just being themselves!” I’m not saying that they can’t, but I am saying that this needs to stop. People should have the basic human decency to spoiler not-safe works, especially full-grown adults that one: know exactly how the internet is, and two: have had the choice in front of them from the very start, yet don’t do so anyway.
Not only this is a problem, but there’s also other things that I notice as a biracial trans-masculine man that just rub me off the wrong way. Before I continue, I’m going to remind you that again, this is from my viewing standpoint, if you disagree then that’s fine, just know that starting an argument over this isn’t going to change my mindset.
Other things that I have seen/unnerve me:
- The specific targeting these people have with Osmosis and Thrax. If you want to ship them then go ahead, just don’t make it look like a fetishization.
- How most of the fanfics (which are SMUT) have either Osmosis or Thrax as a trans-masculine man. It’s just weird man.
- These people interacting with minors despite not wanting them on their accounts (both Twitter and Tumblr).
- The way that they project their kinks onto Thrax…specifically the whole ‘muzzle and chains’ thing. Like, if you wanna do that, then that’s fine, but as background information: Thrax is a black-coded character, putting him up in chains and such is just…odd to me, in a way.
In all honesty, stuff like this rubs me off the wrong way, several ways, and I thought that it would be best to call this out while I had a clear head.

Things I learned my first year in American College ™ that maybe would be helpful for others?
Don’t skip meals, if you have to then buy a starchy snack to keep you from feeling funky until meal time
Take out is a god send
Buy frozen Veggies
WD -40 is a good investment ( Squeaky door frames to Wasp Killer)
Bring rain boots. It won’t hurt.
Be okay with bugs. If you have a phobia, make sure there’s a designated bug killer.
Know how to communicate your wants and needs
DONT. LEAVE. OUT. DISHES. WITH. FOOD.
Keep sandals on at all times if you’re on the first floor. (I had scorpions :,>)
Eggs are a good and easy source of protein!
you will get tired of eggs.
Go out. do stuff. Even if it’s just sitting in the library for a bit.
You’ll need more paper towels than you realize.
Take a water bottle with you. A 16 oz is really enough.
Have a routine. It’ll help keep you sane
I know everyone says this, but start your stuff early. Especially if you work. The bad part is that most of your peers will not be able to help you if you start early.
MAKE. FLASH. CARDS. Write down the information your professors give you like 3 times in different places.
Your professors and peers are mostly there to help you.
Little treats will mostly keep you sane but will drain your bank account
There’s a million ways to cook instant ramen packets. Don’t just follow the instructions.
IN FACT HERES MY FAVORITE RECIPE I MADE
Take the ramen packet that’s cooked on the stove (I usually used spicy lime shrimp.
Separate the noodles and the flavor packet.
Fill a medium pot with about 3-4 cups of water. (I measured out the water to be the same amount as could be held in the bowl I used). Turn on to medium heat.
Add the flavor packet to a pot of water.
Add a slice of butter (for creaminess).
Add half a spoonful of chili garlic sauce
add a spoonful and a half of soy sauce
add minced garlic (half a spoonful)
Add ginger paste ( a dollop)
Add chicken flavored Bouillon (a spoonful)
Mix it all together and let it boil.
Once boiling crack an egg and there and MIX. MIX!! You want the egg to cook fully in the boiling water.
Once the egg is cooked add in the noodles and let the noodles cook for like 3 minutes?
Once the noodles are starting to separate, add in your hearts content of frozen minced spinach.
Wait until spinach is no longer frozen and serve.

I am told i am evil by my sister and father. Evil. They used that word sincerely. Im quick to anger but I don’t think I’m evil. I certainly would never tell my sisters to end their own lives, and I especially wouldn’t mean it, even in the moment like they do. I’d never threaten suicide to them either. It completely flip flops from me doing nothing in their eyes, and me doing everything, to which they react with thankfulness but never help. Not even when I beg for it. And when I do beg, I’m either met with zero compassion or guilt trips. I think after enough of that, anyone would get angry

Black Arum ┆ Siegrain
Content warning: main character death, cannibalism, gore, toxic/unreliable narrator, highly canon divergent character portrayal. Read at your own risk. You will probably take psychic damage from this.
╳┆A lure was stuck in the soot between his lungs. Many times he'd felt the tug — enough that the wire fray had worn a rut where his ribs met — and many times he'd found her on the other end, reeling for remnants of him that no longer existed. She would aim to break him open, sift around in the cinders for those specks of him she wanted to confiscate, keep for herself, so that she could finally be rid of him. Once those flecks were washed and panned, the remains would reek like plough mud closure. For that reason he would come to her whole, every whit of ash accounted for.
A cherry little game they'd play. Her with flint and steel, eager to reignite that paltry spark of "good" that flickered freely for a lapse before he remembered himself. Him with tinder and kindling, letting it light only to call on the rain again. Her with just enough hope. Him with just enough time.
That resolve was so very compelling. More than her beauty, her candor, and even that glow he so loved to bask in — that luster he wanted to hold between his teeth and bury under his nails — more than that, her tenacity was a toothsome temptation, and he wasn't keen to deny himself anything.
So when he felt the pull, he caved to the beck and spooled the lisle. That day, the line seemed lighter, thinner, than it ever had. It should've been strong. Tensile. Instead it felt gossamer fine and just as frail, poised to tear at an ill touch, and he wasn’t exactly renowned for his gentle hands. Still, he gathered it with both palms and wrapped it proudly around himself like a ceremonial sash, grin scrawled across his face something devilish.
╳┆He found her lying in the shade beneath a long-lived magnolia, still and silent as she never was, with the color of her namesake spread around her head in halo streaks. Battle-torn, as she so often was, and yet uncannily... passive.
Anything he'd planned to say went out the airlock. Instead, he stood there with an anchor in his stomach, reaping the benefit of doubt.
Not a frown nor a sigh when he darkened her sanctum, only heavenward eyes tearless and unblinking and a resigned breath just short of peaceful. That worn tether waned phantom thin, light as helium, and the tension in his chest went slack.
There was no definite snap. No dramatic severing or ear-popping moment of clarity. Only the vague sense of loss so fresh a wound that denial was a numbing salve.
“Get up,” his voice a command, sandgrit against whetstone, thickened by an unnamed antigen.
The silence felt like mockery. A placid scene void of chittering fauna, clouds' drum, or even the most timid breeze. It wanted him to hear the absence of her breath and the stillness of her chest. It wanted him to hear the hollow. The empty. The nothing. Wanted it to resonate; to find the furthest reaches of his mind and clean them out until all that was left was this icy, clarifying silence.
He knew the end when he saw it. This was something much worse. It was robbery.
Her life wasn’t for the world to take. It was for him to hold in his hands.
Something wet and pathetic slicked his tongue — some whiny, pleading thing — and it was stubborn as oil. The authority slid to the back of his throat and left him choking, “You are the indomitable Titania. You’ve laced fingers with Death time and again only to rise and slay and conquer, so get up.”
Her warmth was set to a slow drip, spilling from her in tired beads and seeping soundlessly into her chosen ground. Little whispers of her lost to greedy loam, sullied, never to be returned.
A waste of precious love. The sod won’t drink of her as he will. It will take of her and give back what? New “life” so fragile and fleeting? A feeble weed will take root, bloom its days few, and curl itself inside out? Pathetic. An insult to her legacy. An insult to the diamond-split sharp of her bladesoul.
His heart boiled over — popping, sticking, simmering sicksweet saccharine. It colored him cloying, flooded his mouth, and forced him to kneel at her altar.
"Please," he keened, hollow and morose, and his own pleading sickened him, “Say something.”
The sun trickled through the leaves like ichor, lighting up her black-blown eyes and the thin ring of honey surrounding them. Dim, distant, and dead as the moon.
His hand carved a path to her face, fingers featherlight against her fading flush. He brushed her bangs from her eyes and forced an unbroken breath through his quavering mouth. He traced each scar too faint to see and the parts of her skin their star kissed. Memorized the map of her face — each curve and crease, each fine hair, and every eyelash. He would carve out a space in his mind in her shape and fill it with the thousand sweet nothings he kept in his pockets.
He gathered her hand and threaded it with his own. When he opened his mouth, a rickety twine escaped from the deepest point of his chest, so he forced his jaws shut to keep the grief corked. He uncurled her fingers and pressed his cheek into her palm, trapping her there against his own scarred skin. His eyes fell shut as he breathed in this borrowed touch — this moment fated, stolen from him by this world's insatiable avarice.
He kissed her palm directly in the center; held it against his mouth and felt his own ruined breath echo back to him from the deepest grooves of her skin. Again, he begged, “Please, Erza.”
Of the armors innumerable now haunting this hallowed ground, this one least befit her.
He revered Death. If there was a god, surely it was Death, he thought, for Death asks for nothing but life. The dead don’t know that they’re dead. They know a split second of euphoria and then a sharp, definite end. Isn’t that the work of a gracious god? One last stroke of color whether in peace or peril, and then eternal rest. Back to the dust you sprouted from.
But now he couldn’t see any of that beauty he often waxed poetic about. All he could see was change yet to come. All he could see was her, and he wanted her back.
He wanted her back, yet he knew better than anyone that there was no such thing as resurrection. While Death might be gracious, it was not generous, and it was not to be reasoned with.
The thought of her buried deep, bathed by the dark and abandoned to rot — it washed his mouth acid sour. It ate straight through his tongue and lingered in the roots of his teeth, burning, raging redhot in his jaws’ marrow.  A grave didn't suit her anymore than a pyre.
Soon she would be cold. Stiff. A feast for flies and their insatiable young. In the days to come, she would bubble and bloat and sallow. Her skin would loosen and slough off. The sun would bleach her bones. The meat of her would melt into oil and fat and bogspit. She would mix in with the soil, the groundwater, and this thankless magnolia would thrive.
It was tall, thick, with branches spread in all directions. The lowest of its limbs showed off the varied deep greens of its large waxy leaves, their undersides a chalky brown. A few white flowers bloomed, palm-shaped petals open in praise like they'd come to witness and worship. There was no question why she'd chosen to crawl here. It must've reminded her of home.
Despite its beauty, it was hardly worthy of her. Nothing in this ravenous world was. Her grave should be carved within his chest. There, he could keep her warm. He could host her in his veins. One day, they would wade the waters of woe together. Until then she could live under his skin.
He wouldn’t allow her to spoil. Wouldn’t place her gently into time’s whittlesome hands only to lose her peel by peel by rotting peel.
This world has taken much from you. Do not allow it to take her too.
A carnal ache etched itself into bone, a depth of passion he hadn't felt since he wrought for a false Heaven.
She is a fruit, ripe as a plum and twice the taste. Peel her open. There is a seed at her core. Plant it in your soot-field chest and watch her bloom anew.
What are these hands for if not this?
Flesh like sheets of silk. Muscle like rope. Blood like honey. Bone like an ivory trove. The splitting, the squelching, the straining, ripping, snapping; it burrowed marrow-deep and lingered there. Her chest peeled apart like jagged teeth, jaws croaking their rusted tune, and inside that redslick maw was the center of the universe.
The heart upon its throne, still as she, shielded by her precious lungs. It slid into his palm like it was always meant to be there. Raw, rich, and so very scarlet. Its sinews strained against his pull — those hollow vines that fed even the furthest parts of her — so he wrenched them free and draped himself in them like matchless finery.
Eat. Eat ‘til you’re sick. There’s a hole the size of her in the pit of your stomach. Eat until you fill it.
What are these teeth for if not this?
Tough as leather; smooth as rubber. His teeth slid right off the rind and clicked together with nothing but metallic sheen between them. He gnashed at that ink-dripping muscle until he found a spot weak enough to tear apart. It tasted of rare meat and iron; a heady gore thick enough to drown in. He swallowed, gasped, and that first new breath felt like a blade.
The child inside him saw her split-open ribs as his cradle. He wanted to crawl inside, curl up, and die. He wanted to paint himself her color.
He lost his vision to the hot, angry wash. His own sobs were a distant sound, muffled by meat and blood and his own desperate fingers. He was numb in the mouth and in the shake of his hands, but he forced himself to eat, eat despite the choking, the gagging, the wet, weeping remorse.
Don’t you dare throw her up. Be grateful. Swallow and say thank you and finish what you’ve started.
He bit into his own palm, indistinguishable from her core, and he cried out in sour relief. His hands spread raw grief over his face, through his hair, and down his neck.
You’re no better than this starving world.
He curled into himself, hands clutching his own aching chest, and despite the cloudless sky, he called upon the rain.

You leaned over, your fingers curling delicately over the handle of a boho-styled mug.
Ankles crossed, legs shaven, dressed in your comfiest pajamas… and you were all by yourself. The idea would have baffled you years ago. You were used to the occasional text and friendly invite from the people you loved and trusted.
It was to these people you promised your heart, your loyalty, your time… you. All of you, in your destructive vulnerabilities and Herculean strengths.
You knew you were a work in progress. A snort escaped your lips; you still were. Every offense, you owned. Every slip of the tongue, you showed remorse. And you always worked to be better than you were the day before.
That didn’t mean it always worked out.
Closing your eyes, you allowed yourself to remember those who needed to enter your world — to shake it to its core, to destroy presumptions of requited love and heartfelt care.
You needed them. You needed the lessons they had in store for you.
Your mistake was leaving the door unlocked. Your mistake was making them feel welcome while the damage they had done felt like an ever-growing abyss, begging you to assess the damage and fix it.
But as your heart continued to shift, you began to understand that you deserved your attention more than anyone else. And you decided to make some changes.
Throwing out some and realizing others had long walked away, you set up a long overdue construction zone. With the help of soft and encouraging voices, you built and rebuilt - painted and tore down — sobbed and sobbed some more.
Your husband’s lips kissed the softness of your cheek, waking you from your reverie. His eyes - eyes that had haunted and guided you all this time - flashed with concern. “Where are you?”
There he was; the crux of your problems and solutions. The man who silently addressed the behaviors you excused and attitudes you accepted. The man you pretended to be to appease whoever you could, even if it meant losing yourself.
“I’m in my construction zone,” you spoke, your voice dancing with the autumn winds. “Doing some more repairs.”
Taking your hands into his own, rubbing the chill that had so gracefully kissed your knuckles, Jumin tilted his head. “Tell me how I can help.”
Bowing your head, you kissed his hands. “Stay there… as you are. Support me as I continue finding myself.”
“Always.” Large hands held your face; soft fingers slid over the shape of your ears. “And even if you decide that I, too, need to leave… promise me that you will tell me, that I may leave a lasting and loving imprint on you. One last time.”
The very thought sent an uncomfortable pang of pain and panic within you. You wanted to grab his face, pull him down, kiss him all over and tell him that could never happen; you would never ask him to leave.
But all you could do was exhale a shuddering breath and speak so quietly that only God could hear you. “I promise.”

I just think that X-factor (the mutant detective team, not the reality show) would make for a great tv show. And not like one of those little like 6-8 episode this-was-too-long-to-be-a-movie streaming shows, but like an early 2000s network crime drama/comedy. I mean the 2006 run pretty much already feels like a network show. But like think somewhere in the middle of like, smallville and criminal minds and psych and X-files. Idk I just think it would be really fun, and I mean.
Tumblr media
Does this not look like a promotional thing for a network detective show. Like a 10-year-old crime drama you would find on Netflix and binge in two weeks.
