Look I know this account is supposed to be for like fandom stuff but like...I feel like venting a bit. Nothing too serious, its just about my job.

Working inna restaurant is probably the most exhausting and soul crushing job anyone could choose (other than healthcare, or any other related job). My coworkers eventually will fight each other, my managers will probably never fully understand just how exhausting it is to just keep going on and on and on and then have to come back and simply put up with all that shit again.

No amount of effort will change the outcome. I'll still have people yell at me, or refuse to listen because they just see me as a person to take their anger out on.

People will still fully believe im not a real person because im behind a host stand or in the back of house area. People will forget I have feelings too. Customers will always assume that im just some inferior thing thats only there for their entertainment.

It sucks. I hate being walked all over. Im a person, too, you know. Just, treat your service industry employees with respect.

I'll come back home, and have someone get mad that im too exhausted to clean, cook, do college work, or get out of bed.

I just really despise my job.

I honestly think every leftist who talks about the "revolution" like Christians talk about the rapture needs to spend a year trying to organize their workplace. Anyone who sincerely talks about building a movement so vast and all-encompassing that it overwhelms all existing power structures needs the dose of humility that comes with realizing they can't even build a movement to get people paid better at a badly run AMC Theaters where everyone already hates the manager.

Update: sorry to all the people whose fics or posts I only liked. Saved them all for later. And for being so absent this past month. Unfortunately, I'm having major unexpected issues with my paper for uni and it's basically taking up all my time, and the end is still so far away, and I'm not even sure if I'm doing everything correctly. My mentor/professor hasn't been very helpful either, she basically discarded all my initial ideas until later in the project. Anyway, fingers crossed that I actually fucking graduate because this past month has been horrible and I at least hope that it will be worth it.

I've not seen a single person (other than my friend who has ties to Ukraine) talk about the fact Russia fucking killed 51 Ukrainians in an airstrike today (number from BBC) along with injuring 271 others. The airstrike also partially hit a hospital. Did it trend on Tumblr? No. Did a single person acknowledge Russia is literally an imperialist state with expansionist tendancies? No.

The war in Ukraine and attempted annihilation of Ukraine by Russia is still happening and once again the world (especially self proclaimed anti-war and anti-racists) are silent. It shouldn't be like this. I hate that people are not anti war when it doesn't make them look morally superior and hide their bigoted tendancies.

so, watched ep 1 of the atla live action and uhm, imagine not wanting one of your main characters to depict sexism because you believe it doesn’t read well in Current Times, so instead you double down on the character’s obsession towards leadership in order to give him that extra edge. but in order to make that work u have to make his sister quietly obedient instead of an outspoken leading presence that has the potential to overshadow him. because silencing a female character in order to write out a male character’s story arc of unlearning sexism is obviously a better and less sexist outcome.

Jews are treated so unfairly and left out of so many opinions leftists hold, and this time I'm specifically talking about the lesser opinions that don't get talked about as much.

Like I've seen so many people say "minorities don't owe you kindness when you're bigoted towards them"

Yet as soon as a jew is no longer kind, or acts out emotionally, it suddenly not okay for us to do so.
