"Seeing from his violent demeanor that he was English" is still probably one of the best (funniest) lines in Dracula, but I love how this part of the Post Script contrasts with the rest of the letter Sister Agatha sends.
The main body of the letter is to the point and polite on all matters (makes sense as it seems this part of the writing was overseen by our good friend Jonathan himself, though he's too weak to write) in contrast to the Post Script where Agatha adds in details that are emotionaly powerful and some aren't necessarily sordid but would absolutely be of concern.
Jonathan has nothing on him, he is shouting and in a rush, he has a frightening delirium, delirium can last and reemerge a long time into the future, he rambles about terrifying and grotesque subjects when in the throes of his brain fever (which is an old-timey way to describe a lot of mental illnesses and behaviors), and all of this overcomes a frailty and physical weakness from whatever else he's been through that causes him to otherwise be bedridden.
Even half of that could erode trust in someone. But as told in the rest of the Post Script:
He's recovering, he's gaining more lucidity, the Sisters notice his lucid moments are punctuated by gentleness and sweetness (hard to trust at first likely, due to frequent relapses, and the Sisters are eventually convinced a lot of his prior behavior was caused by the fading brain fever and not by his inherent personality), he is a cherished patient of the Hospital of St. Joseph And St. Mary, and it seems the staff are enamored with how often and with such love he talks about Mina, such that this spurred Sister Agatha to make the Post Script in the first place because it's the first thing she mentions.

You have to love when you've been putting your raw soul, suffering, and hard work into your life every single day daily and the only thing that you wake up for is your raw passion for your art and a lot of it is fanfiction, just to go on Reddit for those fandoms at the end of the day and to see anonymous people say "All I can find is terrible self-insert fanfiction" and knowing that there's a likeliness that they are referring to yours or at least one of them because mine is the longest one within the characters tag

So one thing I've always loved about uni/studying/learning new things is when you have different subjects or different tiny dots of knowledge and slowly, as you learn more and more, those tiny splashes of knowledge are becoming less isolated, and you realize that it's all connected and - at least with my subjects being in the humanities - you sort of “unlock” this new perspective on a certain aspect of the human condition. And like, that's fun enough and - if I'm being honest - probably my favorite thing about studying already as it is, BUT NOW, now that I've finally gotten back into writing as a hobby this is just ANOTHER dimension for me to expand that knowledge into and to use that knowledge for. And I am absolutely living for it. So happy to be back on my bullshit and so happy to be at a place in my life where these two passions of mine fit so seamlessly together and one passion benefits from the other and vice versa

I love searching for mental illness tags I can pin on myself so I can fix what's wrong with me like a little checklist.
Anyway if anyone tries to suggest I might have a specific mental illness unless I ask for you to tell me, I will most likely block you or ignore that. This is one of the few boundaries I am forming, and it is a hard one.

Tumblr desktop has a new layout that is literally the exact same as twitter's desktop and I fucking hate it. If Tumblr staff somehow sees this can you please get your heads out of your asses and stop trying to be more like the muskrat. I don't know anyone who wants Tumblr to be more like the shithole bird app.

iwtv is hard to watch sometimes because louis is the most unreliable narrator since theo decker who's the most unrealiable narrator since richard papen who's the most unreliable narrator since nick carraway who's the most- and that's the point but then you do wonder. because obviously, this entire story is an interview, we only see what louis wants daniel to know; hence we never actually see the assult on claudia, we don't see the entire physical fight, some of the noises are weird and messy. nothing in this show is actually objective, even though it is obvious that this is what louis is trying to be, but even he cannot remember everything - as illustrated in the episode where the same scene is played twice - one time without rain and the other - with. it's all infuriating, it's brilliant

#4, #31, and #33 for asks!
4 is already answered!
31 - what type of music keeps you grounded?
Lately it’s just been nothing but Within Temptation. :D
33 - last adventure you’ve been on?
Oooo this Saturday I just went out with some people from my thursday spiritual meetings, and we explored old abandoned places like 1800s gravesites, and this one trail in the mountains with tons of steep hills and drops and barely-structurally-there houses. We definitely didn’t get haunted. We’re going back to that last place this Friday and I’m super hyped!!
