It occurred to me I hadn't really shared the Fushigi Yuugi house I spent ages on in Animal Crossing New Horizons! I designed every (known) seishi and miko's normal outfits (except Takiko's, which the game actually has an outfit that is really close, lol) and themed the rooms in my house to each group. I made the second floor Taiitsukun's palace/Mt. Taikyoku to the best of my ability with what the game has.

My overall island (Starfall) is a dark faerie theme, and I also have a Stardew Valley themed house and a Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed house.

Wanda had been having the worst day. The team’s mission went south very fast. Hydra began implanting bombs inside their base’s so that in the case if they are ever found they can destroy the evidence of them being there. Soldiers waited outside for them with military grade weapons. The Hulk went into a fit of rage, Clint almost lost an arm and Natasha was almost crushed by rubble. Wanda was able to push herself hard enough to use her magic to make sure Natasha and her got out of the building quick enough.

They were the only ones left inside as the rest of the team fought everyone outside. After everything was said and done the ride on the quinjet back to the compound was silent. Even a small cough had an apology following suit behind it. Wanda is surprised she didn’t cry the same way Kate did as Yelena held her on the way back. The brunette simply placed a comforting hand on Kate’s back on the way home.

Wanda Maximoff had lost so many people in her life and this was another reminder of why she had to keep them out the way. The team can protect themselves. Y/n, a barista at a family owned coffee shop–one they barely work at anymore because their rich girlfriend takes care of them and Tony and the team randomly throws money and gifts their way. But that’s besides the point. The team is strong with super powers or serums or martial arts and knows how to use weapons. Y/n makes the threat that anything can be a weapon yet they ironically apologize whenever they bump into a chair, table, etc.

The mere thought of losing them the same way she almost lost half the team today nearly sent Wanda into a spiral. She convinced herself to hold on and remain strong.

Once they landed everyone was sent off to med bay, visible injury or not. Wanda had a scar on her brow and a cut on her nose and a sprained wrist. Both her arms were sore but she didn’t think that was worth mentioning. After leaving medbay she informed Jarvis to tell the team she went to see Y/n if they asked where she went.

Wanda didn’t bother driving a car, she stepped outside and immediately teleported inside Y/n’s apartment. The Sokovian wasn’t allowed to do that anymore after she scared them but she couldn’t help herself as she was on the verge of shaking from overstimulation.

“Wanda is that you?!”

“Y-Yeah!” She already felt tears coming to her eyes at hearing your voice but quickly blinked them away.

“Oh! Come look and see!!” Y/n exclaimed happily.

Wanda smiled and quickly walked pass the small foyer and to the living room. Her shoulders relaxed at the sight of her partner gazing at the TV that displayed her animal crossing game on it. She walked over and sat down on the couch.

“I restarted my island and it took like five times but I finally got villagers that aren’t ugly!” They squealed with joy.

Wanda placed her hands in her lap and smiled authentically at the screen. Y/n had already begun decorating the island and including as much villager homes as possible. There was customized pathing on the beach and grass.

“I named it Westview because you know…we said we wanted to move there.” Y/n’s voice grew quieter as their shyness increased. They shrugged. “And yeah…”

Wanda turned her head and reached out her to tuck their hair behind their ear. “That’s nice, I like it.”

Y/n blushed then cleared their throat. “Oh! Also the flag!! Look, look, look!!” They still hadn’t looked at Wanda as they could not turn their attention off the screen. Not even a bowl of the best pasta in the world could take their focus off their hyper fixation right now.

Wanda turned her head back towards the screen, still twirling their strand of hair between her two fingers. She dropped her hand at the sight of the flag that blew in the wind at the airport. It was her head piece. The one that she didn’t like at first but Y/n adored because it suited her so well. And because Y/n adored it Wanda slowly began to, too. Tony designed it for her after he heard her ranting about wanting more accessories for her costume the same way Nat and Steve did.

“I made it just for you!” They exclaimed.

“You made me a flag…with my head piece on it?” Wanda asked, her eyes glazing over with the tears she had been holding back since the mission ended.

Y/n beamed at the tv screen missing the full effect of their words. “Yeah! Because you’re my favorite person in the world and–“ They faltered and their brow furrowed with concern as they finally turned to look at the brunette. “Wanda, are you okay?” Y/n reached out and caressed her cheek with their palm as the witch begun to cry.

“I just love you…so much.” A lone tear trailed down her cheek. “You make me so happy…I-…today was awful and some of the team almost didn’t make it and it was so traumatizing and I just–” A much needed sob broke free from her mouth as she curled into Y/n’s warm embrace.

Y/n began to rock them side to side and soothingly rub their hand up and down Wanda’s back. “You’re safe now, let it all out.” Wanda sobbed harder than before, gripping on Y/n’s shirt for dear life. “I’m so sorry all of you had to go through that.” Wanda continued to cry as Y/n continued to speak.

They sat in silence until her sobs died down to sniffles and her eyes had stopped producing as much tears.

Y/n moved to pull away then stopped as Wanda whimpered. “Put your head up for me please.” Wanda complied, sitting up straight with their arms still around each other. “I love you.” Wanda felt another sob building up in her throat. “And I’m so so proud of you.” Another sob broke free but Y/n continued to speak as they wiped away Wanda’s tears. “Today was really hard and you did such a phenomenal job–yes you did.” Y/n reassured as Wanda began shaking her head. “You did a good job because you did your best.”

Wanda pulled away from their embrace, her body immediately felt the rush of cool air surrounding her. “I didn’t even tell Pietro where I was going, I just left and came straight here to you because I just felt so overstimulated and…and broken and scared.” Y/n nodded, holding their palms together. “And I know I did a great job but fuck why did my life have to be this way, I’m still here, I’m still the scared little girl who hid under a bed with her twin brother for 3 days after realizing our parents are gone and dead and…” She felt herself begin to descend into a panic and placed one hand on her chest and the other on her head. “I’m tired. I’m so tired.” She choked out.

Y/n took both Wanda’s hands in their own. “Baby, look at me, hey-” Their eyes met. “I’m right here, okay? Everything is okay now, the team is okay, your brother is okay and you are okay..you’re safe now.” Wanda blinked. Y/n brought Wanda’s hands to their chest and took a deep breath in then a deep breath out and continued this until Wanda began to follow suit.

It took five minutes until the normal color returned to Wanda’s cheeks and blood no longer felt like it was rushing to her ears. Y/n placed their hand on Wanda’s cheek, smiling as the witch sighed out of content. Wanda turned her head and kissed their hand before she spoke.

“Can you show me more of…Westview?” She asked softly while making eye contact.

“Only as long as you promise to move there with me…and also order us a pizza.” Y/n bit their lip and grinned as Wanda giggled.

“I promise.” Wanda took her phone out of her pocket and snuggled into Y/n’s side as the number for their favorite pizza place began to ring. “Extra cheese?” She hummed as Y/n kissed the top of her head.

“Sounds great.” They replied and began to decorate Westview as Wanda ordered them enough food to have leftovers for the next day.

The Europe's oldest Café was opened on 29 December 1720 by Floriano Francesconi and was called "Alla Venezia Trionfante" (To Triumphant Venice), although the clientele later renamed it "Caffè Florian" in honour of its owner.

While the finest wines and coffees from the Orient, Malaysia, Cyprus and Greece were served, history was unfolding outside. Its windows witnessed the splendour and fall of the Serenissima Republic of Venice and the secret conspiracies against French and then Austrian rule. It is divided into small rooms connected by a corridor and has a huge terrace on St. Mark's Square for sunny days. The rooms are decorated in different styles;

El Café más antiguo de Europa fue inaugurado el 29 de diciembre de 1720 por Floriano Francesconi y se llamaba “Alla Venezia Trionfante” (A la triunfante Venecia), aunque la clientela posteriormente lo rebautizó como “Caffè Florian” en honor a su dueño.

Mientras se servían los mejores vinos y cafés de Oriente, Malasia, Chipre y Grecia, la historia se desarrollaba afuera. Sus ventanas presenciaron el esplendor y la caída de la República Serenissima de Venecia y las conspiraciones secretas contra el dominio francés y luego el austriaco. The Liberty room, added, in 1920, with a more modern atmosphere, decorated with mirrors with painted floral motifs and Murano glass chandeliers.

La festa dell'uovo

Anche la Pasqua, come il Natale, era inizialmente una festa soprattutto religiosa, divenuta col tempo un’importante festa dedicata ai bambini. Come mostrano il suo nome in molte lingue e i riti a essa connessi, la Pasqua possiede profondi significati simbolici in relazione alla nascita, alla rinascita e alla fertilità. I termini tedesco e inglese derivano dal nome della divinità germanica Ostara, dea della primavera e della fecondità. Suo contrassegno era l’uovo e suo messaggero la lepre; fu questa l’origine dell’uovo di Pasqua e della Lepre di Pasqua. L’uovo occupa un posto di rilievo nei miti della creazione di tutto il mondo a significare la nascita e già a partire dal IV secolo ne è attestato il collegamento con le cerimonie pasquali. Nel XII secolo la chiesa cattolica diede la sua legittimazione a tale collegamento introducendo la Benedictio Ovarum (*), la benedizione delle uova, e autorizzandone un uso particolare nelle festività pasquali. Da allora l’uovo ha sempre occupato un posto centrale nella celebrazione della Pasqua, dalla tradizionale corsa delle uova, alla caccia alle uova da parte dei bambini, all’uso di regalare uova riccamente decorate. La lepre, come poi il coniglio, si prestava naturalmente a simboleggiare la fertilità, per la sua nota prolificità. Il primo riferimento in lingua tedesca alla lepre in rapporto all’uovo pasquale risale al 1572, quando peraltro l’usanza era da lungo tempo affermata.

PROWL ( Deluxe ) Generations LEGACY EVOLUTION *Animated*

Immancabili, e vorrei ben vedere il contrario altrimenti, anche gli Animated partecipano alla trilogia celebrativa di Legacy per il 40ennale dei Transformers, ed iniziano alla chetichella col solo PROWL uscito per Evolution, per poi continuare in seguito con un altro paio di suoi colleghi Autobot in United.

Prowl in Animated è stata una signora rivisitazione del classico Pantera G1, condividendo solo il tema del veicolo della polizia e qualche dettaglio come il diadema sulla fronte o i gradi sulle braccia, o volendo anche le ali decorative sulle spalle, mentre caratterialmente era il combattente solitario del gruppo, un cyber-ninja inizialmente allergico alle dinamiche di gruppo ed ad eseguire gli ordini di Optimus.

Un ottimo esempio quindi di un personaggio nuovo ma conosciuto da riproporre nei Generations, insomma, presentato con un look meno stilizzato di quelli della sua serie originale, come già visto per Arcee Prime, ma alla fine reso bene e fedele del ROBOT visto in Animated.

Prowl qui infatti non è uno smilzo o spilungone, anche se ha un accenno di mento lungo sulla faccia, ed è grande quanto gli altri robot che diventano motociclette della linea. Come dicevo è fedelissimo nei dettagli dalla figura originale, con in più i dettagli dei "gradi" anche sulle spalle, mentre un po' meno gradite sono le due parti di manubrio sopra le "ali", ma di riflesso queste sono mobili a differenza delle originali ed hanno pure il dettaglio dei reattori con cui il nostro poteva brevemente volare nei cartoni.

Oltre ai soliti fori sotto i piedi il nostro ne ha pochi altri solo sul spalle e braccia e uno dietro la schiena, potenzialmente inacessibile non fosse per la summenzionata possibilità di abbassare le ali. Se l'Animated originale aveva le armi nascoste delle stella ninja a 3 punte nascoste nei cerchioni, ed idem il Legacy, con le punte che spuntano ruotando i due cerchi esterni l'uno rispetto all'altro.

Fa un po' storcere il naso che la sola mano destra abbia la forma del foro standard per armi mentre la sinistra imiti quelle del giocattolo del 2008, magari per poter impugnare meglio i suddetti shuriken, ma alla fine si riescono a mettere pure sulla mano destra, quindi mah!

Già il giocattolo originale era snodatissimo per i tempi, ma il nostro in quanto Generations moderno lo supera anche se di poco con l'inclinazione delle caviglie e la testa che si alza, peccato solo che gli manchi la rotazione dei polsi, ma al solito è assente per la TRASFORMAZIONE dei pugni, che si nascondono all'interno degli avambracci, con un vuoto però non così fastidioso.

Ed a proposito della tale, il passaggio da robot a veicolo è idealmente uguale a quello dell'originale, con le braccia che si proiettano all'indietro a formare il retro ed il petto che è platealmente il muso della moto, mentre il bacino ruota di 90° e le gambe si piegano a metà degli stinchi liberando le ruote.

La MOTOCICLETTA SPORTIVA risultante non è sinuosa ed elegante come l'originale, ma si difende bene, anche se appunto sono in vista le giunture che uniscono le spalle e la coscia della gamba posteriore, così come le ruote risultano piccole in proporzione al resto del veicolo.

Se il robot Animated del 2008 era un po' smollaccione nelle articolazioni, la sua moto era invece un sublime gioco di incastri e risultava compattissima nel suo look futuristico, mentre viceversa grazie alle solide articolazioni del Legacy la motocicletta del 2023 per fortuna resta salda nella parte posteriore, dato che l'aggancio del ginocchio sulla fessura formata dalle braccia unite non reggerebbe!

I fori che erano su braccia e spalle possono essere usati anche nella moto per piazzarci armi, volendo, così come quello vicino al serbatoio, anche se è un po ostico per via della vicinanza con la testa del robot…

Ed infatti fa quasi scompisciare il fatto che la faccia del robot s'intraveda da dietro il parabrezza della moto, anche se ha senso che sia lì dato che sulla nuca il nostro ha i conta chilometri scolpiti! Magari era meglio se mettevano un pannello di plastica subito dietro quella trasparente del parabrezza, ecco. ^^'

Insomma, una bella versione moderna dello storico personaggio del 2008, con discrete migliorie rispetto al giocattolo originale ma anche lacune che lo bilanciano, consigliato quindi ai fan del Prowl ninja o ai fan dei tf motocicletta, ma di sicuro non sostituisce del tutto il bel Deluxe archetipo.

Questa frase è tratta dalla canzone "Gracias a la vida", scritta da Violeta Parra, cantautrice, scrittrice, pittrice e poetessa cilena, nata a Santiago del Cile nel 1917.

Molti testi di Violeta si caratterizzano per le forti denunce contro le ingiustizie sociali; a lei si riconosce anche il merito di aver contribuito al recupero del folklore locale.

Violeta nel 1961 realizza una lunga tournée in Europa, esibendosi anche in Italia, e nel 1964 è la prima donna latinoamericana della storia ad esporre le proprie opere all'interno del Louvre, nella sezione delle arti decorative.

A soli 49 anni, purtopppo, al culmine di una brutta depressione, il 5 febbraio 1967 Violeta si suicida.

La canzone "Gracias a la vida", considerata il suo testamento spirituale, negli anni successivi sarà interpretata in altre versioni da numerosi cantanti.

Due dei suoi quattro figli, Isabel e Angel, diverranno a loro volta cantanti di buon successo.

Il Déco in Italia, l’eleganza della modernità è il titolo della mostra inedita che il Forte di Bard ospita dal 2 dicembre 2022 al 10 aprile 2023. Il volume, muovendo dalla sezione italiana dell’Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes, evento epocale che si tenne a Parigi nel 1925 e da cui deriva il termine “Déco”, intende restituire, attraverso 230 opere circa, una fotografia di quanto si andava producendo in quegli anni non solo nelle arti decorative e nella grafica, ma anche in pittura, scultura e architettura. L’obiettivo è quello di scoprire il fil rouge del gusto déco italiano che, tramite le necessarie intersezioni di stili e temi guida – come la danza, la maschera e la spinta sintetica nell’analisi formale di animali esotici –, favorì quella ricerca orientata verso una maggiore struttura architettonica e geometrizzazione delle forme. Tra le opere illustrate, per citarne solo alcune, le sfavillanti ceramiche firmate da Gio Ponti per Richard Ginori e quelle celebri di Francesco Nonni, le delicate trasparenze buranesi di Vittorio Zecchin, gli straordinari dipinti di Aleardo Terzi e Umberto Brunelleschi, che segnano un versante più illustrativo della pittura di quegli anni, e i progetti di Armando Brasini e Piero Portaluppi. Spazio è dato anche a quel sottile legame che avvicinò il secondo Futurismo alla temperie déco, testimoniato dalla partecipazione all’Expo parigina di Giacomo Balla, Fortunato Depero ed Enrico Prampolini.

Ciao, ti scrivo e leggo sempre con tanto interesse. Volevo chiederti cosa ne pensi del parquet in tutta la casa ma con fascia solo fuochi / lavello in cucina con cementine a contrasto. Io lo metterei anche in bagno. O consigli di mettere la stessa piastrella della cucina? Cosa ne pensi? Consigli?

Ciao, il contrasto ci sta per le diverse zone altrimenti è un po' piatto no? Però dipende molto da com'è fatta casa.

Il parquet mi piace tanto ma deve essere fatto bene, messo bene e adatto alle diverse zone (adatto al bagno per esempio). Esistono molte tipologie e trattamenti ma io purtroppo non sono esperta. La cosa fondamentale per quando riguarda la cucina e il bagno, a mio avviso, è che siano pavimenti e rivestimenti adatti. La stessa cementina dipende da che trattamento e composizione ha e potrebbe risultare non di facile gestione (macchie e aloni). Non metterei in bagno e in cucina le stesse mattonelle, non mi convince questa assonanza.

Il mio consiglio è di farsi consigliare da produttore e posatore su queste cose perché loro conoscono bene il materiale.

My two cents proprio papale papale: se la casa ha il carattere giusto il parquet è bello a spina, vietiamo per legge i parquet sbiancati chiari chiari e sul grigio, le cementine sono belle monocolore e non con i disegni a mo' di merletto o finto vietri, basta cementine esagonali a meno che non sia un formato originale, in bagno mi piacciono molto le piastrelle bianche diamantate o a piccole dosi le piastrelle decorative pazze tipo Mutina e Popham design.

Salemi

Il viaggio alla scoperta dei luoghi meno noti e frequentati della Sicilia è quasi giunto al termine. Visitiamo un altro borgo, Salemi (Trapani), che fa parte de “I Borghi più belli d’Italia”. Anche qui il terremoto del 1968 ha causato numerosi danni costringendo la popolazione a spostarsi più a valle dando vita al “Paese Nuovo” ed abbandonando per anni il vecchio centro storico. Il punto più alto è dominato dal Castello Normanno-Svevo e dalla vicina Piazza Alicia dove si trovano i resti del Duomo di San Nicola di Bari (Ex Chiesa Madre). 

Rilevante è anche la Chiesa dei Gesuiti dalla bella facciata in stile barocco che conserva il crocifisso dell’antica matrice ed un magnifico organo ligneo del 1700. 

L’annesso convento è sede del Polo Museale comprendente il Museo del Risorgimento ed il Museo Civico che, oltre a custodire varie opere d’arte salvate dalle chiese andate distrutte, comprende anche una sezione archeologica.

Un’altra sezione è costituita dal Museo della Mafia che attraverso un percorso espositivo emozionale e provocatorio racconta questo fenomeno criminale.

Nel borgo le tradizioni sono ancora molto sentite: infatti, in una delle chiesette abbiamo potuto ammirare l’importante tradizione dei pani votivi, piccole opere d’arte intagliate che vengono utilizzate per creare cappelle decorative o per addobbare gli altari.
