The Mirror of Regret: A Portal to the Past
Tumblr media
The book is a short and simple story which begins in an old shop where people do not pay attention to where they are purchasing items, and in the corner of the shop which is dusty forgotten is a mirror. Its gilded and time-rusted exterior bears the reminiscence of forgotten glory and its transparent surface is more than a seem through a mirror. This here is the famously legendary, the Mirror of Regret which is said to show the deepest regret of any in fable that look into its reflection. But it carries out more than just demonstrating; the images found within the apparitions attempt to find hope by appealing to the living to change some of the wrongdoings they did.
The Origins of the Mirror: It is said that Mirror of Regret was forged , long ago, by a wizard who was obsessed with his own failures. Wanting to fix this the boy placed all his magical energy into the mirror, and will others an opportunity to fix mistakes they made. The Mirror was passed from hand to hand, and owner after owner would end up with a chilling realization of what the Mirror revealed; their greatest remorse.
Tumblr media
Gazing Into the Depths: Peering into this Mirror of Regret is to embark on a journey, deep into a man’s soul. The first view is kind of mundane, but after that, the looking glass starts to distort, becoming silvery. Gradually, the mirror shows circumstances of the past—instances of decision-making as well as action that could have been decisive or lifesaving had they been different.
These scenes are not illusions in a vulgar sense of the term, which could be understood as mere fancy. These are very clear memories that manifest themselves in the mirror through spirits that are held captive within the realms of the mirror. The reflective surface of the mirror is inhabited by spirits of its former owners trapped to mirror’s destiny. They replay and replay the scenes that haunt them to their core and seek redemption through their descendants.
Tumblr media
The hanging Apparitions: The spirits within the glass aren't malignant, though their presence can be unsettling. They worry for peace, and to achieve it, they must guide the living to correct their own once miscalculations. When someone gazes into the glass, these apparitions crop , bruiting secrets and prompting conduct that might alter the course of history.
Each apparition is unique, carrying the weight of their own story and regrets. Some might be gentle and rueful, while others are more hopeless and pertinacious. They don't force their will upon the living but offer guidance and stopgap, seeking solace in the possibility of change.
Tumblr media
Correcting the history: The Mirror of Regret’s true power lies in its capability to impact the present. By revealing once miscalculations, it offers a chance to understand and, where possible, amend them. The apparitions give perceptivity and advice, helping the living to make amends and avoid repeating the same crimes.
This influence can be profound. Connections can be mended, lost openings reclaimed, and lives converted. The glass doesn't guarantee success, but it opens a door to possibilities that might else remain unrestricted.
A Cautionary Tale: Despite its eventuality for good, the Mirror of Regret is a double- whetted brand. Not everyone can face their regrets and come out unscathed. The exposures can be inviting, leading to despair and preoccupation. It takes courage and adaptability to defy the history and make the necessary changes. The glass can illuminate the path, but it's over to the individual to walk it.
Also, the glass’s power must be admired. Abuse or overreliance can trap a soul within its depths, adding to the chorus of regretful spirits. therefore, those who find the glass must traipse precisely, balancing the desire for change with the acceptance of what can not be altered.
Conclusion: The Mirror of Regret is further than a magical artifact; it's a memorial of the power of reflection and redemption. It teaches us that our history doesn't have to define our future and that through understanding and action, we can find peace and purpose. As the glass’s apparitions seek solace in guiding others, we too can find solace in the possibility of change, learning from our regrets to forge a better path ahead.
In the end, the Mirror of Regret stands as a testament to the enduring mortal spirit — the capacity to reflect, to learn, and to strive for a better hereafter. So, the coming time you encounter an old, fine glass in an antique shop, take a moment to look deeper. Who knows what secrets it might reveal, or what openings for redemption it might offer?

Harnessing Your Potential: Embracing the Power Within

Harnessing Your Potential: Embracing the Power Within
You are Admired & Respected
“The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur” - Vince Lombardi.
“Exist as your potential, seek this and act of as from its first invocation” – Hecate ‘Witchcraft, Destroyer’.
The Titan Society – Cronus ‘Titan Leader, Destroyer’, Hecate ‘Witchcraft, Destroyer’ Circe ‘Sorceress, Destroyer’.
Andrew Rogers – Creative Director, Oracle.
In the world of witchcraft, Hecate has long been revered as a powerful and enigmatic deity. Her presence is felt throughout history, her name whispered in reverence by those who seek her wisdom and guidance. According to Hecate herself, the path to unlocking your true potential lies in recognizing your existence as a powerful force, and embracing the journey that lies before you.
As you delve deeper into the realms of magic and sorcery, it is important to remember that Hecate calls upon you to seek out this potential within yourself. It is not enough to simply acknowledge it, but to actively pursue it with unwavering determination. With each invocation, you bring forth the energy and power that lies dormant within you, stepping into the role of a witch who is ready to embrace their destiny.
Hecate, the Destroyer, and the goddess of witchcraft, implores you to act upon this potential. It is not enough to merely possess the knowledge and wisdom, but to utilize it in your everyday life. Embrace the spells, rituals, and incantations that align with your purpose and goals. Let the magick flow through you, guiding you towards your true purpose.
Remember, Hecate's words echo through the realms of witchcraft: "Exist as your potential, seek this and act as from its first invocation." This mantra serves as a reminder to embrace your own power, tap into your intuition, and walk the path of the witch with confidence and boldness.
So, dear practitioner, heed Hecate's call and let her teachings illuminate your journey. Seek out your potential, act upon it, and watch as you flourish in the realm of witchcraft.

Volatile Times. Chapter 12. Magic
Tumblr media
“Maybe I'm not the person you were looking for," she finished sullenly. “You had such high hopes for me…” “I still have high hopes for you, Miss Montgomery," the professor interrupted her gently. “And please forgive me for imposing on you a fate you may not have asked for. But, although you have not yet passed the final trial, I have every confidence that you will be able to meet, if not exceed, our expectations. It is to my deepest regret that you have had to perfect your skills in such a short time when it took me many years to do so. Even in my time, there was little information about ancient magic left, and I had to figure out a lot of things on my own. And now I would be happy to share my observations with you. As I once shared with Isidora.” Nancy stiffened and looked up at him, her eyes glistening with tears. “So many of the secrets of ancient magic remain. As you are well aware, this type of power was primarily used to create, which is how Hogwarts was built, which is why the castle is so impregnable. I've been trying to understand its principles and origins for a long time, and I've come to the conclusion that it must have a natural origin – after all, nature is the creator of all creators. Like nature, ancient magic can help create incredible things, but just like nature, it can bring death and destruction. Our rare ability to see its traces may be easy to take for granted, but balance is required to use it with success. Balance with nature, but most of all, within. Any type of magic can cause difficulties when the wizard or witch is in inner doubt. If you do not feel harmony with yourself – such a willful thing as magic will obey you reluctantly – it likes confidence. I think the same can be said about the ancient one.”
Yet another snippet from yet another chapter. Experiencing some issues with ancient magic, Nancy seeks the advice of the only person she can get any from - the portrait of Rackham in the Map Chamber. Time to speculate on #ancientmagic and all that. Out on ao3!

The provided text is an excerpt from a 1888 edition of "The Key of Solomon the King," a grimoire of ceremonial magic attributed to King Solomon. The text details rituals, conjurations, and the creation of magical tools (Pentacles) for communicating with spirits. It explains the importance of specific times, preparations (fasting, purification), and materials for successful magical operations. Multiple manuscript sources were used in its compilation, with notes by the editor, S.L. MacGregor Mathers, highlighting discrepancies and offering corrections. Included are supplementary materials from Eliphas Lévi's work, such as a mystical alphabet and an invocation. #KeyOfSolomon #CeremonialMagic #OccultKnowledge #MagicalTools #Pentacles #Rituals #Conjurations #Grimoire #MysticalWisdom #SLLMacGregorMathers #EliphasLevi #AncientMagic #SpiritCommunication #MysticalAlphabet #FastingAndPurification #HistoricalOccultism #MagicalTraditions #EsotericKnowledge #KingSolomon #MagicalOperations

Drawing the beautiful 4,854 year old Methuselah tree, the exact location of which is held secret for its protection. I read a book that tells of how trees “whisper of days gone by” and it’s lovely to think of the treasure trove of stories that this silent keeper must hold. It’s like a remnant of ancient magic living in our modern world.

Magick in Ancient Greece
Ancient Magick Jan 1 - 7
Topic: Ancient Greece
When: Roughly 700 - 480 B.C.
Where: Southeastern Europe. Mainland is a large peninsula surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea.
Social Classes:
The class system, from highest to lowest, looked like this: male citizens, semi-free labourers, women (belonging to male groups but without rights), children, slaves, and foreigners. These are just broad groups, however. Within the male citizens group, there were many classes. The ‘best people’ were at the top, also called the aristoi. They were the most rich and could provide armor and artillery for themselves with ease. Men typically wore a chilton, which was made of lighter material since they were outside more; usually worn for exercise. These citizens lived a lavish lifestyle, and contained many of the powerful politicians.
Women wore a peplos, being a tunic from heavier material, typically draped over one shoulder. Women were unable to vote and had very few rights, for her main purpose was to take care of the family and children. However in Sparta, they were granted more rights than in Athens. Labourers, lastly, are the second lowest class before slaves. They were semi-free and dependent on their employer. They couldn’t be sold like slaves and often lived with their families. Though it was safer than being a slave, they weren’t granted any real security and were still harshly treated. They worked for most of their lives, and ate what they could.
Magick within Greece:
Magic in Greece contained spells and evil prayers, curse tablets, enhancing drugs and deadly poisons, amulets, and love potions. Magic was practiced by male and females who wanted to help their daily lives. First practitioners of magick were endorsed, and seen as wise holders of secrets and masters of diverse fields, such as mathematics and science. They were also feared, since they were so strongly associated with death and evil. They were impoverished and relied on to survive. Though the public perception of magick isn’t overwhelmingly negative, it is worth mentioning that the death penalty was delivered to a man and his family who were found guilty of harmful magic. Another woman received the death sentence for distributing bewitching drugs. Amulets were a large part of practiced magick. Talismans (bringing luck) and phylacteries (protection) were typically made of wood, bone, stone, and sometimes gemstones, though rarely. Many had inscribings of shapes, such as a phallus, eye, vulva, knots, Egyptian scarab, and a hand making a crude gesture. Many of these amulets are still used today in Greece, typically the evil eye, and Italy, which is typically the cornicello horn. Amulets were worn to cure a physical problem, to win sporting competitions, attract love, keep away evil, or protect the wearer of any bad magic. To make one, one had to invoke the Gods. Amulets were a widely accepted portion of magick, and used by everyone. Curse tablets were used to maintain public order, magic spells continued within Greece after the Egyptians and were used to help physical issues, improve one’s sex life, exorcism, initiation ceremonies, get rid of wild animals in the home, or to make an amulet. Poisons also appear, which used rare herbs and spices and incense from Asia.
Extra: Lesser Known Greek Gods
I know this wasn’t on the sheet, however there are so many gods within the Greek culture, I wanted to explore some further. By no means am I saying these gods aren’t known by anyone, however these are just some that I didn’t know beforehand. Links for more information about these gods will be in the sources section.
The Astra Planeti - Gods of the wandering planets
The Horae - In charge of the seasons, and kept the constellations in line
Aeacus, Minos, and Rhadamanthus - judge those who died and decide upon punishment
Zephyros of the west wind, Euros of the east, Boreas of the north, and Notos of the south - gods of the winds
Nemesis - helped to avenge those who were wronged
The Muses - Clio (History), Urania (Astronomy), Melpomene (Tragedy), Thalia (Comedy), Terpsichore (Dance), Calliope (Epic Poetry), Erato (Love Poetry), Polyhymnia (Songs to the Gods), Euterpe (Lyric Poetry).
The Fates - though known from Hadestown, Hercules, and Percy Jackson, these three Fates (Clotho - spinner, Lachesis - measurer, and Atropos - cutter) decide the destiny of a man’s life. I strongly suggest reading more about these!
