au Link (Hero’s Tunic ver.) 🗡️
wooooooo yeah i’m finally gonna start posting character refs for my au here!! my au is based on one of the theories i had about BotW back before release, specifically about when we saw Link waking up in the Shrine of Resurrection, but didn’t have any other context than “he woke up with no memories” at the time.
i can’t wait to share more about my au here~

aemond’s outfits for season two look almost exactly the same compared to season one, but there are some small differences and details mostly notable around the shoulders and neck area. we love a prince that cares about the environment who instead of getting entirely new fits just had new, little details added to the ones he already owned

I've been wanting to draw the Geats quartet but wasn't sure what to have them wear and then remembered I liked those DGP outfits they had in like eps 5 & 6.

The danger is over and everyone is safe, you're allowed to grieve the part of your life you lost. They're just "things" but they're things you had because you loved them, made with your own hands because you felt it was worth it to create and bring you joy in its existence. Every piece you lost is a part of a life you put together for yourself. It's a testament to your existence as the unique individual you are. You don't have to apologize for mourning them
Thank you.
I just. I can begin again, and I will. I'm even a relatively quick seamstress, when properly motivated. It feels like such a herculean task, though, especially for things that can't be gotten easily or cheaply again- colorful silks the discount fabric store no longer carries, my stash of antique and specialty reproduction trims, certain buttons or accessories...
I feel like I'm staring up a mountain I have to somehow climb all over again, after reaching a peak and then falling back to the bottom

This may sound like such a stupid thing to worry about, but I have no idea what kind of wedding dress I want. I plan on sewing my own, but every single dress on my pinterest board is completely different, and I have no idea what kind of style I want.
I just want a nice dress that makes me feel happy :(

i’m trying to figure out where the idea that selkie was inspired by lolita started from since they feel like completely separate things. i just don’t get it since ruffles and puffy sleeves aren’t exclusive to lolita and didn’t start with it either. and selkie’s puff sleeves has a very different silhouette than lolita imo. selkie’s shape reminds me more of a princess costume mixed with the cottagecore neckline.

me: im not gonna be too fussy
also me: so anyway heres another list of things im changing This time around
Tumblr media
im pretty happy with the updates! the picture doesnt show it so well but this is a major improvement to the fit. i think being in a softer fabric will also make things sit nicer :)
i think i am, in general, happy with my pattern & ready to cut out the real fabric!!! i do have a couple more changed i want to make from where this stands, though. i want to move the princess seam to be more central (pink marked line) because its gotten pretty lopsided, and i do think i wanna change the slope of the shoulder slightly to lift everything up. also, the outer sleeve pattern still needs some work, it clings too close to the inner one (which i think is some of the cause of those drag lines)
& thats a wrap! hopefully the next time we talk ill be cutting this dress out!!!
the real question is, can i find my personal guide on how to do a proper placket?

It’s better if you never have to experience it, but there’s nothing quite like the glee of dressing in ways you know that authority figures from your youth would be disgusted or at the very least disappointed by.
Part of me doesn’t want to see my middle school teachers ever again but another part of me wants them to see me while I’m wearing a low cut crop top and minishorts with one of the gay haircuts I tend to get. Like, this is what you created. If you all and your catholic school rules weren’t so restrictive, I wouldn’t be enjoying this so much.

Ya know, I love sewing, in theory, but the math and the fabric cutting anxiety? Not a fan.
But I bought 'fancy' fabric, I should do the thing where I make it into a thing. And I found some fabric I don't feel bad about using for a mock-up in my stash.
BUT THE ANXIETY

this is such a real and infuriating issue—the fact that female athletes have actually gotten fined for wanting to wear actual clothing while competing, and not just underwear, is absurd and enraging—but i really wish people wouldn't react to it, as the linked article does twice, by turning around and making claims about a need for 'women's specific design,' as if all women were the same shape???
i mean, setting my actual gender identity aside for a moment, i'm afab with a totally endogenous hormonal situation, so from a binarist perspective on physical sex, i get shoved into the girlbox without any real hesitation—and yet i not infrequently find men's clothing a better fit than women's, because my shoulders are broader, my ribcage wider, and (of late) my waist-to-hip ratio smaller than women's clothing tends to expect; and because i find pressure on my abdomen uncomfortable, i've been very grateful to be able to ignore womenswear's turn to high-waisted pants, and stick with midrise menswear.
i could list more examples, just drawing on my own physique and the physiques of cis people i know, but i'll spare you—really my point is just, i wish we were better at the kind of feminism that reacted to gendered inequalities by making more space for individual people and individual preferences, instead of falling back into the trap that says women deserve special consideration because they're a special case. women aren't an asterisk; they're an enormous swath of the spectrum called humanity, and there's variance within that swath just as there's variance within any subset of humanity you care to define.
