Adopted brothers izuku & hitoshi - fell in love at young age -> become boyfriends (yes, incest)
Parents Erasermic are concerned but ultimately accepting, mostly just impressing on the boys that their relationship stays secret/hidden bc other ppl and society at large probably wouldnt take their relationship very well (what with it being "taboo" and people not reacting well to others being Different)
The boys do so, tho ofc they eventually get caught here and there (Midnight, nedzu, todoroki shouto, kaminari denki, all over time)
Eventually the boys make a plan w todoroki where shouto will fake date izuku and be his beard to give the aizawa boys an alibi and cover. (Shouto is aroace and it was half his idea.) They all move in together when graduated & tododeku is known to the public while the shindeku is not (as desired)
Eventually (nearly 10 years after the b/g of the fake date ~16/17yo) shouto proposes marriage to izuku (bc it feels about time they do or ppl will start getting curious), and the idea of marrying sho when he cant marry hitoshi upsets izuku until he gets together w shouta-dad and they decide on having a small intimate shindeku wedding ceremony (no paperwork but yes vows) before the big public tododeku one.
(They will have wedding necklaces instead of rings - maybe chain & pearl/stone bead?)
Kaminari (who found out when hitoshi vented to him while very drunk lol) is toshi's best man and shouto is izuku's. Kaminari is fine w the incest thing bc 1) hes a cery chill guy 2) he loves his friends more than anything 3) they were always pretty close in school so he supposes it makes sense but 4) he hasnt fully processed the situation yet lol (he'll still be fine after but it hasnt entirely hit, hes just going w the flow)

N. A.: This chapter took days to be finished, not only bc of its length, but mainly bc I was finding it a bit confusing. I wasn't sure of how I should portrait this "advance" in reader and Shinjuro's relationship, neither how much of reader and Senjuro's grief after the scene in the living room: sometimes I thought I just wrote enough, and other times I though it wasn't as emotional as it should be, so that what you're going to read is the best I could come up with.
Soon I'm going to return to work, so Idk how things will be, so I ask you a bit of patience and thank you in advance for supporting me :)
Tumblr media
It wasn’t shame what you felt when you looked into your stepson’s eyes, neither it was fear or irritation for being caught in a place where you shouldn’t be: it was the concern that he might have observed your face for long enough to read your emotions with too precision for someone his age. And, in fact, you were tempted to show a passionate reaction, whether to confirm or to deny your feelings, just for the sake of getting that weight off your chest, but you tightened the reigns around your tongue and didn’t do any of this.
This is adults’ problem. He doesn’t need to share this load with us.
Senjuro looked around, as if waiting for someone to show up suddenly and, after making sure it wouldn’t happen, stepped into the room.
– So… you found out about the living room? – he questioned with the usual hesitation – It’s been a while since this place was visited. Except for the maid.
You still felt your eyes burning with the things you were seeing there, but you wouldn’t burst out in tears. You sighed and crossed your arms.
– Yes, I can see that – after an embarrassing silence, you forced a smile while observing the photographs – Now I understand why I had no permission to enter this room. I should’ve obeyed the rules.
– But you’d find out about this sooner or later, I guess – was the boy’s reply – And my father isn’t here, anyway. Not even he uses to come here anymore.
You swallowed.
– If that’s the case, we better leave before he returns to the house.
He agreed and you walked out at that moment, taking care not to mess up anything, thus creating proof of your passage there.
***
You were sitting on a wood bench somewhere in the garden, as you used to do during the breaks between one training session and another or when you decide to eat lunch there, which was that day’s case. It was a safe spot to relax, as well as to talk.
And you had too much to talk.
Still embarrassed, you took the responsibility of starting the conversation.
– I should never enter that room. No matter if I escaped without being caught, it was wrong. But it’s too late for regrets now, I guess.
You said those things with a calm that surprised even yourself. When you first spotted Senjuro in the doorway, you swore you wouldn’t be able to look at him again, and even worse it would be to face your husband once he got back, trying your best to hide what you did from him, but that wasn’t how you felt now. You were rather sad for what you discovered, and for the things such discovery implied.
Senjuro noticed this too, and he said that to you.
– You don’t seem so mad about the photographs, y/n. I thought you’d be offended that my father keeps them in an entire room instead of, like, a drawer.
You gave him a sad smile.
– Why would I be mad by this? I mean, I could imagine him keeping photographs and other memories in drawers like you say, and seeing the whole room full of them was… unexpected. Still, I’m no one to judge – you lowered your tone, as if the next thing you’d share with him was more of a delicate conclusion – Instead, seeing them got me thinking about your situation here.
The boy frowned.
– Situation? What do you mean?
You moved on your spot, as to shake off the discomfort of entering that strange territory.
– Well, I’ve been avoiding intrusions, but this time I can’t help it. Senjuro-san, your family... was beautiful with your mother and your elder brother there. I’ve felt that as soon as I’ve put my eyes on those photographs. Your father… – you felt your cheeks getting hot with what you were about to say, but you ignored the sensation – He’s a completely different person by their side, and yours. He looks really happy there. I could never imagine him like that, you know? I guess this is what surprised me most – you bit your lip – Because, when I found out I’d have to live with you, I had no idea of what I’d see here, and after the things I’ve experienced, seeing our life together as something positive was impossible. But, then, I’ve saw your family as it once was… And understood that the issue is deeper than it first looked. The loss you’ve both endured… that’s too much…
A leaf fell from the tree behind your bench. Senjuro held it on his right hand.
– I understand what you’re trying to say. I was too little when my mother passed away, so I barely remember her except through the photographs and the things my father and my brother told me. I only remember what happened to my father when he lost her. My brother would speak more about this if he was here because he felt that too, even more after he became a Hashira – the leaf twirled between his fingers while he spoke – Slowly, that enthusiastic, gentle man who raised us turned into a bitter stranger. He started to drink. He spent most of his time in his room, and when he left it, he barely looked at us. Everything he held dear lost its value to him. It was strange, like watching someone you love dying in front of you, while another person takes their place. It was like losing him soon after losing my mother…
Senjuro’s voice cracked a bit in those last words. When you raised your eyes to him, you noticed him sobbing. You didn’t think twice: approaching the boy, you just passed your arms around him, as to assure his right to cry. You looked around, at the weather, and realized the blur in your sight: you were crying yourself too.
You did your best to put yourself together, and waited until your stepson was able to do the same.
– When my mother died, my father changed too – you adjusted yourself in your spot – He never had a problem with drinking or anything like this, but he wasn’t the same man who raised me. He started to isolate himself and making senseless decisions concerning our house, our business and everything else. Half of our staff left us, and even the people of our village noticed we were having problems. Our situation became worse when the stories about Oni started spreading among the common folk, and my father, not knowing how to deal with the financial problems and too proud to seek for help, was about to go insane – you swallowed – I’ve tried to help him, I’ve tried to reason with him, but he wouldn’t let me. He thought it was easier to send me away and stay there, rotting inside that house while demons devastated our lands at night – you felt your lower lip starting to tremble and continued to speak, to avoid a stronger reaction – He abandoned himself, abandoned our people…
At that point you gave up and fell silent, but Senjuro finished the thought for you.
– ...And abandoned you – he glanced at you – No wonder you burned his letter without opening it.
Your heart ached with the memory, but it wasn’t remorse what you felt.
– This is something I don’t regret. As much as I don’t regret defending you from Rengoku-sama. I mean, now I can see that life showed no mercy on him, but treating you like that was terrible and unfair, and the same can be said about my father. Their suffering makes us comprehend them, but it doesn’t excuse their mistakes.
– And what do you think we must do, y/n?
You opened your mouth, but closed it again to think of a sensible response.
It’s strange to tell someone what to do. Is this what’s expected from parents? What a duty to fulfill...
– In your father’s case, I believe we can stay as we are – you spoke slowly – Since we know he’s been enduring so much, we won’t do anything to increase his load. At the same time, we can’t let him cross boundaries and treat us as he wants.
Senjuro seemed to approve the idea, but he still had concerns.
– It makes sense. I’ve been doing this since I can remember, but I still feel guilty. When I see my father in that state, I think I should be doing something for him – he sighed – Sometimes, I think this is what he expects from me, and that’s why he acts so harshly.
That was your time to be concerned. You’ve already noticed that, due to his easygoing nature, Senjuro had a tendency of taking heavy burdens to himself, but you wouldn’t sit and watch him giving in to this inclination and becoming an adult before his natural time just because the real adult was unable to act like one.
– But you already do what you can for him, Senjuro-san. You’re a good and respectful son. You keep your things organized and clean, and don’t mind doing hard work. It doesn’t matter if your father says that out loud or keeps it to himself, I’m sure he knows that.
– Do you think so? – his doubt was genuine; it was clear that he never tried to see things from such perspective.
– Yes – you replied with all the possible firmness – You can continue to act with kindness, but it’s not your duty to fix him. Honestly, even I don’t know if there’s something I can do for Rengoku-sama besides staying out of his way. Yet being too hard on ourselves because of this won’t help us at all.
Senjuro thought of that for a moment.
– It also means that you don’t know what you have to do to help your father?
You moved your head slowly in agreement.
– Yes. It does.
– But don’t you think you can find a way if you talk to him?
You looked away. You clearly weren’t expecting that. Still, you didn’t avoid the question.
– I don’t know. I really don’t know.
***
You could say you’ve worked hard to act according to your own words in the days that followed that conversation. You created a routine that included waking up early and taking time to organize your surroundings just like you used to do in your father’s house, then leaving to the kitchen to prepare breakfast (that was a task that Senjuro took to himself since the cook decided to quit, so having you there to take care of this spared him time and avoided more of his father’s scolding for minor mistakes and waste of ingredients); after that, you would leave with your stepson to your usual training session, and then you took separate ways in your daily activities: while he stood with tasks outside the house, you took the responsibility of cleaning and organizing the interior, thus giving the servants the chance of going back home while the sun was still high in the sky instead of being forced to spend the night there, away from their families; finally, while Senjuro returned to his room to study, you would go to your own to bathe and relax.
It was simple, and it worked for everyone… or so you told yourself every time you remembered that your husband wasn’t included in this perfect scheme. Thing was that, since the incident with the wood sword, he actively avoided you in the rooms and corridors, which didn’t make much to shake your moods – instead, you were relieved with this distance; however, after the day you found the photographs, you were the one mimicking such behavior, and your almost non existent relationship just turned into a sequence of unexpected, embarrassing encounters where opening your mouth to say “good morning” was harder than passing by each other and running away.
There was one day when, to answer the plead of a maid, you had to swallow this embarrassment and replace it with courage: while you were cleaning a room not so far from yours, she confided to you that her payment has been delayed, as well as the other servants’.
– I have some debts I need to pay, and I’ve been trying to gain some time with my creditors, but they’re getting impatient – she explained – In normal circumstances, I would’ve paid everything already, but now I’m really desperate, y/n-sama.
You frowned.
– I see. But how did everything turn out this way?
The girl approached you, as to reveal some shameful secret.
– I know it’s none of my concern, but I’ve seen things in this house, and the other servants, who have been here for longer than me, told me what they’ve saw – she whispered – Since the previous lady’s decease, problems concerning the house’s workers became common. The previous accountant left his position and no one was hired in his place, so the financial responsibility was on the young Senjuro. Of course, he’s an honest boy and did what he could to help, but he’s not a professional, and sometimes mistakes were made. The people who still work here haven’t left yet in consideration for him, and because they really need the jobs. It’s Takumi-san’s case. Last time he tried to reason with Rengoku-sama, he became furious and gave him two choices: to go back to work or to leave and never return – she shrugged – He decided to stay, but only if a solution appears. He’s one of our best workers. If he leaves, things will become even worse for us.
You had to stop for a moment to process the things you’ve just heard. You immediately remembered that young man who had a bottle of sake thrown at him in the corridor.
So, that was the cause of Shinjuro’s outburst. Unbelievable.
The situation at the Rengoku’s house was even worse than your father’s: the servants just gave up on their work and left, except for the few in desperate circumstances, and the whole responsibility over the finances has been tossed at a kid? That time, you couldn’t just ignore it.
– Listen, I… I’m really surprised with this situation, as much as I may seem – you told her, not hiding the shame even though it wasn’t your fault – Senjuro-san never told me anything about this, otherwise I would’ve already done something. I’m... really sorry for this. But now that I’m informed, what can I do to help you?
The maid hesitated. She knew the difficult of what she was going to ask.
– Please, y/n-sama, talk to Rengoku-sama in our name – she bowed her head – We know he has a… complex temper, but he seems to respect you. Maybe there’s a chance of him to listen to you.
Well, if the financial issues were surprising to you, the reasons behind the maid’s request were shocking. The servants thought Shinjuro respected you? That man who barely looked at your direction? What a situation you’ve gotten into… But you couldn’t make it even worse by bringing the maid’s – and the whole staff’s – expectations down by telling her that you were too insecure to speak to your husband about a domestic problem, so you did what in other circumstances you’d never consider possible.
– Don’t worry – you swallowed – I will speak to him as soon as possible.
After an effusive “Thank you”, she left to tell the others about your resolution.
The glow of relief and gratitude in the girl’s eyes soothed part of your anxiety, but solely because you knew you were doing the right thing – it had nothing to do with your task being easy. Truth was that you didn’t even know where you should start: should you look for Shinjuro in his room or to wait until you’d meet him in another part of the house? Was it better to bring the subject right in the beginning of the conversation, or should you warm up until the appropriate moment? And, of course, how was he going to react? That is, you saw what he did to the young man; there was nothing to assure you that he wouldn’t try anything like that toward you.
You finished your work and went out to deliberate. You walked around the house, in and out of the garden, trying to come up with a reasonable solution, but nothing occurred to you. That time you also weren’t going to talk to your stepson: Senjuro would be informed about the situation only after everything was solved, and the same would be in the case of the servants, to avoid a commotion.
I’m really alone in this.
As it used to happen when you were lost in your thoughts, you didn’t realize where your wanderings were taking you to until you stopped and looked around… and recognized the front of Shinjuro’s porch. You froze in your spot, less because of this than because you almost bumped into him on the way.
You startled and covered your mouth to avoid a scream. You stepped back and stood there, staring at the man, who was also surprised to meet you so suddenly in a part of the building you weren’t often seen. But, just like it happened to you now, he seemed to anxious to inquire you.
Somehow you were the first to speak.
– Rengoku-sama… I…
You moved your lips, but no words were found to continue the sentence. Your eyes lowered to his hands, and it was with a sort of relief that you noticed the absence of a bottle. Did the sake finish and he was going to get more, or did he see you approaching and got rid of it before you saw it? You couldn’t tell, but at that moment you recalled your previous encounters with him and realized that, since the conflict at the garden, in each of them, he wasn’t drinking, yet sake was still being bought judging by the bottles you always saw piling up in the kitchen.
Is he avoiding to drink in my presence?
– You wanted to speak to me, y/n? – his voice brought you back to reality; your relief grew when you noticed the composed tone in it.
– Yes. Yes, I… – you hid your hands behind your back – There’s an issue I need to discuss with you.
Shinjuro showed no signs of being bothered by the word issue, unlike you were expecting. Instead, he seemed intrigued: you’ve been doing your things all by yourself since you were brought to his house, and now you wanted to talk to him about something? That was new.
– And what is it?
You breathed deep.
The time is now. What do I have to do?
You glanced behind him and saw his room’s door was open. That gave you an idea.
– Would you mind talking somewhere else? – you shrugged – A private place, maybe?
He didn’t make objections to this, indicating his room and inviting you to follow him.
***
As he sat with his legs crossed, you knelt in front of him, having the door, left open, at your right. Your hands were over your lap, as you waited to see what he was going to do.
By all means, Shinjuro was a practical man, so that fortunately he didn’t let this waiting to extend.
– So, what is it that you need to discuss with me? – he inquired – I suppose it must be too important, for you to seek for me so suddenly.
– In fact – you confirmed; and, taking a deep breath, – But it’s nothing related to myself, actually. It’s about the people who work in here.
You noticed a slight twist on his lips when he heard that, but you gave no time for him to react.
– I was told that the servants are facing struggles with the decreasing in the personnel, and that my stepson was left to take care of the matters despite this – you moved on your spot; your feet, folded under your legs, started causing you discomfort, but you ignored it – I won’t discuss this arrangement, but there are problems that need attention right now and, because I am your wife, I was asked to seek for a solution alongside you.
Unlike you imagined, Shinjuro listened to all of this in silence, and after you finished he kept quiet. No physical or verbal outbursts followed, but if he was measuring what he just heard or trying to control his irritation, you couldn’t tell, and that was worse: with the usual anger and bad moods you could deal with, whether by running away or facing him, but with the absence of them you didn’t know what to expect. You clenched your hands against each other.
Come on, say something. Even if it’s just to call me an intruder. Just odn’t let me without a response.
And, then, Shinjuro gave you a response… and though you didn’t know what you were waiting for, it was different from anything you could’ve expected.
– The servants’ payments are delayed. I know that – he started; no impatience was sensed in his tone, just a sort of boredom – Our accountant left, and no one was able to properly replace him. Senjuro found out about this and asked to do something, and I had no choice. He’s better with paper and ink than with a sword. Besides, having responsibilities would be good for him to grow up.
You made an inhuman effort not to gasp at his justifications. Did he really think leaving that work for a kid was a good idea? But you reminded yourself that you weren’t there to argue, but to fix the problem, so you let him continue.
– Of course, I knew it wouldn’t work forever, and if you came to talk about this, it’s because it needs to change – he sighed – But let me tell you that the payments aren’t delayed for no reason. Things have been difficult for us, and hiring someone to manage finances won’t be cheap. It’s something we can’t deal with it right now. So, what do you suggest? Should I hire a new accountant anyway?
You opened your mouth, then closed it again. You understood that, if Shinjuro wasn’t even trying to hide those problems, they must have become really serious. You also knew that the services of accountants and administrators weren’t cheap, but that wasn’t a good reason to let everything to Senjuro.
I can’t believe I’m going to propose this…
Your husband asked a suggestion, and you ended up offering the only one you could think of.
– Let this task with me, Rengoku-sama – you bowed, leaning your hands on the floor but not touching it with your forehead – I used to do this sort of work while in my father’s house in the times we were on a budget and unable to hire someone for it. I didn’t continue to work on this when the crisis with the Oni started because I was sent here.
He thought of this for a moment… And the response he gave you brought out some unpleasantness, both in his words and the subject.
– Leaving the money in your hands to manage? Y/n, I do believe your father let you work on this, but I can’t help finding it strange that, exactly when your lands were facing the worst crisis in a long time, he decided to send you away instead of keeping you there to take care of everything.
Still with your head bowed, you bit your lip.
Are you calling me an incompetent or what?
Shinjuro was aware of the delicate state in which your relationship with father was, so bringing it to the table right now had no intention but to test you: would you have the necessary stability to take such responsibility? As if he had any right to speak of stability… Well, in spite of that, he was the head of that house, thus having the final word in this matter, so if he decided to decline your offer, he would do it without thinking twice, and then your attempt to help the workers – as well as their trust in you – would drift away.
Alright, start whining and all this conversation will end up useless. I’ll swallow my inflamed ego, then.
You raised your head, ignored the provocation and sent it back to your husband.
– I agree. It’s really strange when you put it that way, Rengoku-sama… – your hands relaxed on your lap – As much as it’s strange that, despite the similar issues in you house which you’ve just addressed, you accepted me as an extra mouth to feed under your roof.
Not so strange when we remember the existence of my dowry, I mean.
If Shinjuro guessed this very thought or if he was not in the mood to continue that discussion, you’d never know, but that was precisely what he did: gave up on arguing and just left it up to you.
He stood up and walked to the porch, indicating that the conversation was over.
– Do as you wish, then. The old accountant’s office is on the other side of the house. It’s easier to access it if you walk around the porch. Senjuro knows exactly where it is. Ask him for help if you need it.
You stared at him for a moment. So everything was solved so easily? Or was it just you who were exaggerating the difficult of your task? It was impossible to know, and you wouldn’t stay there to find out: you just accepted the results and stood up, heading to the exit.
You passed by your husband and bowed again.
– Thank you for accepting my proposal, Rengoku-sama. I’ll do my best.
The only response you had from him was a nod, and you left to find the said office thinking of how strange was that man you married, how tricky it has been for you to understand him and what sort of things were waiting for you in that corner of the house.

My Re-Introduction
My name is Tiger, at least what I most like to be referred to as. I also like Merc, or in terms of “normal” names, Leo. I have been going by Lily for over a decade. (I’m 22 & I named myself on Flipnote Studios when I was 10 as it was my first online safe space) At the time, I wanted desperately to be seen as dainty, pretty, or even desirable, bc I had always been seen as ugly& fat. 4 years later I was introduced to the queer community by my first high school friend. I was sheltered, home-schooled on & off, made to go to church regularly, but they showed me a world where I finally felt I belonged. I followed them on Tumblr, as well as many other queer fandom people, learned abt gender identity, pronouns, the difference between sexuality & romantic orientation, even polyamory. (but I didn’t explore that outside my fantasies until I was an adult) I stumbled across the first term that fit my identity: bigender. It was easy to say I was simply both and I stayed that way for a couple years.
Naturally, I grew, and I found I enjoyed being referred to as ‘he’ so I felt I identified more as a trans boy. I went all in, changed my preferred name to Leon, chopped off my hair as short as I was allowed, gradually getting it just below a pixie cut (with bangs) even bought a binder. not too long after, the pastor at my church decided to hold a very special sermon. all abt how being gay and the lgbt community was sinful, and that we shouldn't fall prey to the seduction of the devil. 🙄 I cried in a pew after service. I was part of the choir. he came over and asked me what was wrong, and I told him I was just fine, bc I knew I’d never have the guts to tell a self-righteous man like him. I lost all my faith in the church that day, I even got into Wicca through an ex-girlfriend, but I ended up being a non-religious pagan.
It was rough after that. transitioning & finding love were my two pillars keeping me alive. I was taken advantage of by a long-time crush, my high school said I’d be better off in the military, so I dropped out. I came out to my mom & sister in a fit of rage. for a while it seemed they would support me, but the subject fell silent like it had never been brought up at all & I was cornered into an expectation to be perfect, pretending to be cis, straight, & christian. all I had was my online circles. I ended my 1st adult relationship, entering a new one without letting them know how I identified. it was a triad situation, an extremely toxic introduction to my poly life, but things gradually got better after that. I stayed with one of the partners in a monogamous way, we got married, had a couple of kids, but things were so off, pretending to be something I wasn’t.
I was lucky, I really was. I’m still with them, my anchor partner & co-parent. I was the first to bring up poly after a year & a half, that I wanted it in a different way, dating as individuals, ethical non-monogamy, that was the easy part. even my attraction to women was easy to express, but I kept my identity locked tight. until my partner started exploring with their identity, eventually coming out to everyone. I supported them openly, and gave it a lot of time before bringing up at least a bit of my own identity, presenting as an extremely feminine non-binary she/they person, but it wasn’t enough. and I hadn’t gave myself room to think abt that until recently. I know my identity is pretty elaborate & nonsensical, but I’m feeling myself more just by thinking abt it. I’m fluid, both & neither, my gender identity is so much more complicated than a feminine enby, but I’m okay with that. I’m Tiger, I’m a long list of queer, & I go by all pronouns, but I especially love being referred to as he or they, a woman, boy, queen, king, prince, creature, witch, mage, goblin.
It's not 'perfect' but it's me. more me than I've ever been & I'm willing to put in the effort now to keep in touch with who I am, even if it changes, I won't reject myself as I've been doing for years. I won't force myself to conform, especially in what's supposed to be my safe place. I want my kids to know me, I want my partnerships to be genuine, secure in my identity. I think I've finally figured out what loving myself entails, something that's stumped me my entire life, it finally feels real & obtainable. to love myself completely.

Okay so I think endgame = Jimin. But not necessarily right away, I think like everyone is saying it would be good for yn to take some time to focus on her career, maybe even get to that fourth track from Yoongi perhaps 👀 four songs is a pretty good amount of songs for an EP…just saying. Then maybe after she creates some buzz for herself and she’s enjoying getting to do what she actually wants to so (I.e not stuck behind a camera at photoshoots) maybe she reconnects with Jimin? I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to that. Their chemistry is so good and sure they tried for 2 years but they’ve both clearly have learned a lot in the last month it was a steep learning curve and they could both continue to grow separate for a bit. I could totally see them both vibing doing their own thing and then maybe one day the label is like hey we want you to collab with an artist to create some more buzz and low and behold it’s Jimin (once she’s proven to the label she is serious and they stop holding her previous relationship dramas over her head). I’m definitely a firm believer in trying to see someone for who they are in the present and not who they used to be bc people are always growing and changing and learning and I would want that same courtesy. It’s hard to change but sometimes the harder part of changing is showing/convincing people that you’ve actually changed. Sometime that lack of faith in who you’re trying to become vs who you were really deters the progress you know? So sure he was a fuck boi™ but he’s evolving for sure.
As for Jin, I think in a different lifetime they could have worked, even if it started out as a fake relationship. I just think the timing was trash. It was really great to finally hear his inner dialogue and for him to have the opportunity to gauge yn’s reaction to his vigilance about their images in person bc I think that helped a lot, like he noticed right away, so it’s not like he wasn’t paying attention he just didn’t get to see it up close and personal like he did at an event as crazy stressful as an award show. I think that if yn would have had more time between her “breakup” with Jimin and the fake dating with Jin it totally could have led to a classic fake dating to lovers scenario. I do think Jin is genuine and idk him being an actor and possibly faking it doesn’t concern me too much, only cause I could totally see it evolving if given the chance. But yn starting off the fake relationship still having feelings for Jimin didn’t leave room for that, neither did the fact that Jin started at 100. He really went full force when she was still recovering and it just wasn’t the move. Hes definitely in love with love but I don’t think that means he couldn’t have found it with yn. It’s honestly kind of sad bc their breakup both real and fake would be sort of bittersweet. Like neither of them did anything super wrong and it’s not like there aren’t feelings there (the butterflies 🥺) it’s just that they’re just not enough anymore, which is a sad pill to swallow.
Sorry that was SO long 😂
-🐝🖤
it would be great for yn to step back from dating all together to figure out exactly what it is that she wants . her career has suffered a lot already from the way she's acted when it comes to boys nd relationships so focusing on that shouldn't be at the end of her list . she needs to bound w her fans (the ones that are left) nd work on her relationship w them before she can worry abt her personal life (if being an artist is what she really wants) . the reason jimin can do whatever he wants without worrying is bc his fans are ride or die for him ., they trust him bc he treats them like they're his best friends so no matter what the headlines say ., they'll always be there to support him - she doesn't have that at all ., so if she wants her career to leave the ground ., she needs to work on creating smth like that w her fanbase no matter what it is she decides she wants to do w her career . jin can help with that w how career oriented he is nd how much attention he pays to the media ., but that might not be the way she wants to do it nd could end up falling into the same issue if it's not exactly what she wants - it's smth that she needs to do on her own nd without all the mess the boys bring into her life ., she could do it quickly .
she wasn't given any real time to get over jimin before she was being roped into the relationship w jin (they were literally still together when it started) . so it was like a setup for jin the entire time ., while she did enjoy herself when she was w him nd she does have genuine feelings for him - that doesn't change that she was also in love w jimin nd those feelings don't just go away . it would take her a long while to get over jimin so even if she stayed w jin nd rejected jimin properly ., they'd both have to deal w her getting over him while being w someone else . which isn't all too far to jin . in the beginning ., their relationship was going naturally nd they were interested in each other - their management team forcing them to be smth more to save yns ass didn't help at all ., they rushed too fast into things nd that could end up hurting them in the end . she can trust jin ., tho . he hasn't lied to her nd makes sure to clear up any confusion she might have when he notices that smth is off . he really is the safe choice nd even tho she knows that ., it doesn't change that she can't help but wonder abt jimin .

A3! Act 3 Episode 9 Summary
Please read through this note before you start reading the summary!
whhhhew, finally finished episode 9 and THE EMOTIONS ARE ROLLING-😭😭
but ofc being the maniac that i am ive decided to provide a full summary of episode 9 for those who are interested!
Be warned that this is MAJOR STORY SPOILERS so i would recommend you be at least finished act 2 and all the events leading up to it before you read this. Otherwise you’ll probably have a hard time understanding the full context of things.
The last note I want to make is that this won’t be a detail-for-detail summary! I still want to keep things decently vague so people can still have the joy of experiencing the story for themselves while still providing adequate information to clear up any confusions and speculations. This summary will basically be a rough outline of the story that highlights some of the major events that went on. This summary will follow the order of how the episode played out, all the events will be listed in order.
Ofc, if anybody has any specific questions regarding the story that they want clarified or just simply want to discuss episode 9: always feel free to shoot in an ask or dm me! I’m always happy to provide with information and/or rant about these precious boys!
Well, without further ado, here y’all go~~
WARNING: EXTREMELY LONG POST AND MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD~
the new groups of people now are the following:
High schoolers- Yuki/Muku/Azami/Kumon
Yosei University- Juza/Tsuzuru/Tenma/Taichi
Amabi- Kazunari/Banri
Adult group is still adult group~~
Apparently Tenma’s parents decided it would be a good idea to let him attend university so it was decided on the spot that he would be going through exams. He had to get Chikage to tutor to barely scrape by passing bc of how busy he was. Taichi on the other hand....Tsumugi the GOAT-
Omi now works as a professional photographer through a job his friend introduced him to.
Masumi decided to go to Fuyou University which is Tasuku and Tsumugi’s old university to study. Misumi’s brother, Madoka, also studies there. Although Madoka does not look like it, he’s actually 19... I know...
Azami decided to attend the same high school as Kumon which warms my heart honestly bc it just showed how good of friends they’ve become <3~~ Here’s his new uniform look <333
not sure how i feel about the red hoodie but eh, boy can pull it off so it doesn’t matter aha~
Tumblr media
Guy is apparently opening up a new Zahra style bar with the help of the winter troupe members such as Homare who introduced him to an interior design company (same company that installed that brick wall in his room orz). Hisoka will also be helping out in Guy’s bar.
The entirety of Reni’s backstory (5 episodes in total) which describe his initial meeting with Yukio during high school to how they built Mankai together was described through the format of portraits (the autumn troupe signature). HIs backstories are basically just narrations of Act 3 1/2 if any of you read that when it was first posted.
Reni’s real name is apparently “Kamikizaka Reiji” and “Reni” is a nickname that Yukio gave him in high school bc Yukio thought that his real name was too hard to write out in kanji and pronounce lolol.
Reni keeps a journal which documents his time with Yukio (basically Act 3 1/2) in a safe in his office.
Kasumi’s nickname back in the day was apparently “Juriko”: stems from “Juliette” and “ko” which is a way to feminize someone’s name in Japanese. This was because he was the crossdresser that had to play Juliette in the OG spring troupe RomiJuri- heh.
Shifuto is now the new “top” in GOD Troupe after Tasuku and Haruto who got demoted.
FRIEND ANGST BETWEEN AZAMI AND SHIFUTO HNGHHH and that’s all I’m willing to say oop-
GOD Troupe challenged Mankai to an act-off once again and this time appointed Tsumugi as the lead and Tasuku to be in the play and the theme as “devil” and thus...Devil Tsumugi was born.
The company was initially debating on whether to accept the challenge or not but Tsumugi and Taichi desperately wanted to show Reni who they have become as an actor and prove him wrong on all the things he’s said to them. Basically, everyone who was casted for this play had their own reasons on why they wanted to act.
Misumi’s dad’s name is revealed to be “Kusumi” which literally means nine-points/sides and I- top 10 betrayals? I was certain that his name will have something to do with a square but apparently not-
Although it was briefly revealed during Sky Pirates, Misumi’s dad is the official script writer for GOD Troupe. However, it is shown here that he has absolutely no talent in writing so what he does is get Madoka to act as his ghostwriter and write for him.
Hence this birthed Madoka’s complex of wanting to write in his own free will and not under the control of his father. Since everything he writes gets “edited” by his father but everything his father edited gets rejected by Reni and so Madoka has to fix it himself anyways.
Returning to backstory, Reni revealed that Yukio legit went to visit Misumi’s grandpa (Hakkaku) as a senior high school student to ask him for a script. As a note, Hakkaku was already a very famous script writer at that time and age wise he is about what both their dads would be. Ofc he was refused many times but Yukio wouldn’t give up and would not stop pestering Hakkaku until he finally caved in.
Honestly I loved the autumn and winter troupe dynamic throughout this entire episode- just the way they supported Taichi and Tsumugi is just-
Kumon had to act as the mediator between Azami and Shifuto to try and recover their friendship and the entire process was hilarious.
Yukio and Reni were actually Yuzo and Kasumi’s high school seniors at Nanakusa High. Yuzo was the “ghost member” that was only member of drama club in-name only that was mentioned earlier.
NAMIKAWA DAISUKE’S VOICE IN KASUMI- *deaded counter x1* as a tiny side note: i realized half way through that Tezuka (Reni), Sanada (Yuzo), and Ootori (Kasumi) were in the same high school together bc of their seiyuus. This is for my TeniPuri fans out there haha~~
During their last performance in high school, Yukio and Reni got boycotted by the other junior members right before their play. Reni ended up forcing a reluctant Yukio to go at speak act out the monologue Hakkaku provided for them and everybody ended up being overwhelmed by Yukio’s performance.
This is what ended up making Reni dedicate his post high school life creating Mankai with Yukio, he wants to see Yukio act on stage again. He describes Yukio’s acting as “someone who was chosen by God” and even went as far as using his own money his parents gave him when they kicked him out (strict family bs) to build the initial theatre while they both worked part-time. Reni was the one who designed the entire theatre according to Yukio’s wishes to “make it long lasting”. However, Yukio revealed to him that he has no desire to stand on stage again and instead wants to make others “full bloom”, this invoked a sense of betrayal in Reni.
Reni was also the one who recruited Syu, his childhood friend, into the theatre. From there on, Yuzo and Kasumi also joined. Kasumi was revealed to also be garbage at acting at first but Yukio appointed him as lead for their first play nonetheless.
There is apparently some outside force wanting to ruin Mankai as they even went as far as stealing a part of Tsuzuru’s script and provided it to Misumi’s dad who ended up plagiarizing. It is later revealed that Reni had nothing to do with this so it is currently unknown who the main perpetrator is.
In order to get a better grasp on his devil character, Tsumugi opted to spend one day with each of the other winter troupe members (Homare, Hisoka, and Azuma) individually. This is to get more insight from people who had lived such different lives and accumulated such different experiences. Honestly, one of the most heartwarming moments ever.
Tumblr media
MY ANGST MAN IS HERE WITH HIS FIRST APPEARANCE!!! SAKURAI TAKAHIRO’S VOICE OMGGGGG *deaded counter x2*
He met Tsumugi in front of the GOD Theatre and asked him to “save” Reni.
On the day of the performance, Tsumugi and Taichi decided to walk to the theatre. They met Banri and Juza along the way who were planning to do a street act to release some energy. On their way, they ended up being surrounded by numerous punks who were presumably sent by the same outside force who stole Tsuzuru’s script.
The night before the actual performance, the plagiarism was revealed to both sides and both sides were just as much caught off guard by this. Reni, however, refused to change the direction of the play since it was too risky as the performance is the next day. However, Shifuto refused to act out something that is plagiarized since he promised Azami that they would have a “fair fight like men”.
And so, he managed to convince Haruto to use Madoka’s script that he has written for the first time according to free will and changed the entire play in one night. With the help of Haruto’s authority, they managed to do it in time. (I’ve failed to mention this until now but these three has been building up chemistry all through out this episode and im so down for them tbh)
Banri told Juza to take Tsumugi and Taichi and go ahead while he stays behind to try and buy some time alone against all the men. Just when Banri was in a tight spot due to power in number...
Tumblr media
BAM THIS OLD MAN COMES IN AND SAVES THE DAY!! by now y’all already know... YASUMOTO HIROKI’S VOICE HAAAAAAAAAH *deaded counter x3*
After Banri revealed to Zen that he was autumn troupe leader of Mankai, Zen gave him a card of his restaurant, “Gentiana” and promised to treat them to a meal there afterwards.
Tumblr media
Costume reveal for GOD Troupe. Honestly, I love the chemistry that was built throughout this episode between Shifuto, Haruto, and Madoka. Haruto really did give out redeeming qualities and i don’t dislike him as much as before aha (even tho he is still a snob) and I acknowledge him as a character. Madoka’s script consisted of two characters and basically talks about two estranged brothers (his way of writing down his guilt for towards Misumi)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Costume reveal for Mankai as many of you probably have seen already- devil tsumugi and sexy tasuku is just-
In terms of actual in-game plays, this was the second play that I’ve actually cried at, the first being Clockwork. Super emotional and well-written play and certainly it draws a lot of parallels to Sympathy for the Angel.
Tumblr media
SAME RENI...JUST-SAME. TT
After the performances...i won’t reveal who won and by how much but Reni did officially apologize for all his past actions as he was reminded of his passion for acting through this play. Izumi thought this too but it is hard to 100% forgive him bc of the pain he’s brought on all the members.
He revealed why he quit Mankai, it was bc he and Yukio had become so divided that if he had stayed, the entire balance of Mankai would fall to ruins. He actually came to the conclusion to leave after being trapped in the time loop with Yukio for about three days aha~
Reni decided to create GOD Troupe bc he wanted them to win the Fleur Awards first and crush Mankai, that way, he may have the chance one day to accepted a lost Yukio in his troupe as an actor and not a director (obsessed much my dude??)
The last part of the episode is Reni wanting to talk to Izumi about the Ikaruga family and being invited to Mankai Dorms as a result. There he reminisced the days with the OGs before we are left with a cliffhanger-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though he only talked for two lines but ONO DAISUUUUKE~~~ *deaded counter x4*
The very last scenes showcased how the OGs are starting to come back together as they will be getting involved with the new Mankai members.
Tumblr media
THIS OLD MAN LEGIT WENT AND HELPED THEM PICK CABBAGE I-
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THIS EXPRESSION HE IS SO PRECIOUS-
~❀❀❀~
that concludes the rough summary of episode 9! i...this was an ordeal to get through aha and sorry for it ended up being such a long post...It was inevitable bc this episode consisted of 39 chapters.
Honestly im so dead by the end of this that i didnt have the heart to check for any grammar mistakes so there’re probably quite a few that i ask you kindly to just ignore~ 🥺🥺
now, time to dig a hole and cry until episode 10 comes out...☠️😇😭

Story under the cut: (Wordcount ~3,1k)
Metal clattered together as the key within the lock pressed deeper into it and started turning in order to open the door at last. The light sound filled the cool air. Eventually, the metal keys fell against the dark colour, wooden door and with a particularly loud ‘knack’ of the door, the lock gave way and the way was free.
Remy finally stepped into his home.
It was dark already but that did not stop him from wanting to go home, it encouraged him even further. He was the kind of person to change the night but with Virgil waiting for him, there was an intense urge to just be with the little pet. The darkness outside his apartment was driving him to be faster when the hours passed and passed.
He had cleaned everything with Emile, right after fucking painting it all and reorganising two fucking offices. It was work. It was a lot of work but it was paid extra work on top of that, yet Remy was not exactly a fan of it. The man liked doing his thing, being left alone a bit but also having some non-annoying or intrusive/persistent social interaction. But.. working with Emile all day was as lovely as it could be exhaustive.
That pal did not gossip enough! Remy wanted to talk about chill things, not how he hated or did not hate his parents and whatnot.
Sometimes he wondered whether people moved away and went to other therapists so they would be safe from all their dreadful puns. Maybe it helped in therapy? He did not know but it made him feel fluttered and warm all the same. Still, it would get him to feel nauseous after some time. Maybe Emile played into his auditory triggers - too many words in too little time.
Remy stepped into his home and closed the door.
The sound of shutting it echoed through the vast emptiness in his apartment. Actually, there was so much nothing, it really filled the complete living space.
 Strange..
All he could notice was a certain smell.. a pungent, intense smell. It was odd and he could not quite place it.
It sort of reminded him of...
 Oh no.
He carefully switched on the light.
Whenever he used his lights, he could not help but be glad about having found proper lamps that did not cause too much eye strain at once. People who developed and invented ideas for dim light bulbs and lamps that were made to be comfortable rather than stinging in illumination were simply saints and he would never back away from this opinion. Those were fucking heroes because they helped the dumb minorities like him that was too Extra (tm) to live with regular things.
When the dim lights, he loved so much, showered the hallway in golden warmth, he noticed.. a weird bit of something on the floor.
 Please please no.
 “Virgil?”
He called into the void, for the void.
Nothing came back.
 Was the cat okay?
Remy carefully made his way over to the weird something on the floor. It looked like spilled liquid, somewhat translucent and odd.
Did... Did Virgil vomit or pee onto the floor? Holy fuck, it smelled awful in the most indescribable ways. He did not want to describe it anyway, let alone sniff it enough to figure out certain components of the smell or any similarities to other scents.
 ...Oh dear fuck.
The smell - It was cat pee. Virgil had decided to fucking ruin his floor right in front of the little cat toilet he had put up.
Well... that was it, he supposed. It had been a dream that Remy did not really have to “potty train” the kitten since it came with a lot of good manners already. That was so much of an indicator that the cat was from somewhere, that they were civilised and socialised.
Still, after weeks of no answers, Remy had cut the search and was happy to call the cat his own (albeit he never said so but the smiles on his face were more frequent than before and even his migraines seemed more at ease - not to mention how rare they had become).
But it was too nice to have a cat - a first pet - that just was clean and trained and would use the litter box accordingly.
“I swear, you are going to kill me, Queen. I just cleaned it in the morning. It cannot be that bad, can it?”
He already moved to open a few windows and make sure the horrible smell would yield to the fresh air of the evening.
Maybe he should not have been outside for so long without sending anyone over to check on Virgil and catsit after all. Remy admitted he should look into some silly students who needed the money and would be happy about just cuddling a cat and being able to have some WIFI and such.
But really, he had not planned to stay outside for that long. He had wanted to run over and check in on the dust ghost during his lunch break. Sadly, Emile did have that sort of amnesia effect on him. His horny brain went dumb and forgot all the important logic and memory. Therefore, he had been too stupid from love to really think about Virgil needing him at that moment.
Next time, he would discuss this with Emile beforehand. One mistake was alright as long as nobody was hurt and he learned from it.
With black bags under his eyes and shades perched up on the top of his head, he grabbed a few tissues, gloves and a mop and got ready to clean up. Excitement as great as it could have been in such a situation, he got down to clean up and once done, he finished up over there and tended to the litter box.
Nearly empty. There was like, the usual stuff but it was not much because he had cleaned it in the morning - on purpose!
“Are you fucking kidding me? Virgil, why would you do this?”
A deep groan of annoyance split his lips. He got up to remove the bit of waste that was still residing inside. It just took a few moment and it was already done. He disposed of the dirt properly and put his cleaning utensils into the dedicated space.
A tinge of worry hit him as he did so. The cleanness was achieved at last but what about Vi- Just then, a streak of black crossed his view.
 “Virgil!”
His tone was low, touching a bit into the territory of a parent. Specifically, when a goody two shoes did something wrong and the parents got all “I am not mad, just disappointed”.
The kitten ducked away and whipped its tail down before slowly swishing it from side to side.
They almost looked ready to fight and as if Remy had provoked it, the void suddenly jumped at his black boot - yes, just one. This was one smol individual and they had yet to be tol enough to attack two Remy feet at once. Soft paws drummed onto the shoe and the ball of charcoal furry was hissing and scratching.
“Hey! Ow-”, Remy hissed back in surprise and slight aggravation, “Virgil, what the fuck!”
The cat jumped back and Remy quickly dropped his jacket, revealing a black sweat shirt he was wearing underneath.
The angry cat hissed at the man and ducked and arched their back. Then, they went in for the fight, now aiming at his knees. A pair of claws jumped at him, so Remy committed himself to the idiocy of catching the cat and picking them up.
Virgil did not get his knees but they did catch some skin of his arms.
“What is wrong with you, gurl? Do you want to play? This is some shit way to tell me about it, queen. You pissed on my floor.”
Virgil hissed again and Remy blinked in incomprehension. He should learn more about cats or something. Like, take a course in cat training because this whole behaviour was too sudden and confusing for him to make sense of it. These acts were so contrary to what they had done before to him. Even at the start of their relationship they had been somewhat loving towards once another.
He did not want to admit it but.. the cat rejecting him kind of stung. Yeah, his attacked shoes were also a point of inconvenience he did not really approve of but they were manageable.
The cat was down on the ground again but definitely not down-to-earth. They were already spitting fireballs at the belated arrival and Remy was cursed with being puzzled forever since they could not communicate and explain what happened.
Remy was unfortunate to think of Virgil as playfully fighting him. By instinct or whatever.
“Hey Queen, if you wanna play, can you just give me a minute or two, so I can eat? I want to exist, too, and you need to eat as well.”
He collected the food and water bowl and made sure to fill everything properly. Virgil had abandoned him again in favour of creepily staring at him from afar. The tail was swishing like a clock’s ticking arms. And they were counting his time until being brought to justice by Black Cat Law, aka The Void Law.
The cat owner emerged from the kitchen, filled bowls filling his hands.
Dry food, just a bit - minimal amounts. Wet food - the main source of sustenance for the kitty cat. Water - because kitty cat got free bowls of water twice a day, thrice when at work with him.
Remy put it back into place and the kitten quickly returned to retrieve the food.
“Yeah, now you are happy, are you not?”
The cat very much ignored him so they could feast upon the bouts of food brought to them. Finally their slave human was working again and feeding them as he was supposed to.
Rude to just take an unannounced break.
“Yeah, I should have expected you to be bitchy without food. You are just like me, are you not, little honey?”
A chuckle could be heard as he took a little moment to relish in the sounds coming from the Void of Darkness and Fire (tm) purring and chewing. The noises were barely audible but Remy has started picking up the most silent ones. It helped him detect the kitten’s feelings or locations when he needed to tend to the cat. Also, it made finding the cat easier for when he wanted to give them a little goodbye-snuggle before going to work.
The urge to cuddle the cat right now was strong but he made sure to not do it.
Cats hated that, as much as sources told him. Sources were the internet and people and also a book he had gotten by now. And the vet he had visited once more after he decided to keep the cat since nobody seemed to care enough. Also, vaccines.
Other than that, Virgil also scratched him once he tried to snuggle them while eating. This was only legal when Virgil was already snuggled up to him due to pure pity they felt for him. Such a Queen.
“You are too good for anyone, kitty. I am sorry for leaving you alone for so long.”
No answer - but the black blob of fur seemed to be at ease with the food and water. This was a start, he thought to himself. Remy still felt guilty for leaving them alone for so long. Then again, he had expected to have the time and get home for a little bit during his lunch break but that did not work out, somehow. And going after his official working hours was not okay.
He should give someone his keys so they could look after the little Queen of Salt for a bit when he had to stay away longer.
What if an emergency ever came up?
His head shook the thoughts of darkness and anxiety away. Instead, he busied his empty hands with the simple task of reheating some food he had made before. Tomorrow he would get some chicken for his kitten to make up for being so neglectful and thoughtless. He needed to be more considerate and accept his responsibilities. After all, he was some kind of caretaker right now - a cat parent, if you will.
Remy leaned back and took a deep breath.
“Virgiiiiil ~”, he cooed softly and took out a little kitty treat.
 Just one.
It was not just for his guilty conscience but also for the cat to know he did not mean to. Virgil needed assurance and the stability of life. Giving him some sort of praise for being alone all day - for literally at least 10 hours - was appropriate, he supposed.
The kitten was already done with their bowl of food and was currently drinking when the smell of more food and the sound of Remy’s - their owner’s voice - reached them. They sensed being called over and looked up from their bowl, licking their muzzle and nose with a satisfied look on their face.
“Kitty cat”, he purred again and the void gently let their tail swish just a bit above the floor for a few single strands of their fur to trace over the dark ground.
They purred back in solidarity. Soft paws sunk into the similarly dark floor. The kitty took one step after the other and slowly progressed, body slightly lethargic from the recent intake of food. The ball of fur and mischief made their way over to Remy and sniffed the air.
A determination ruled their fine movements.
 Ah, yes. More food.
Good human.
Their eyes sparked at the man, radiating praise and appreciation.
Remy smiled in return and carefully nudged his hand close enough for Virgil to nibble at the treat. Immediately, they welcome it into their mouth. Without realising it, the owner visibly relaxed, the air standing in his lungs was flowing out of his nostrils and allowed him to inhale deeply. His posture eased up and his shoulders were now more straightened and calm compared to before. St a few moments ago, the weight of guilt tore down his body and forced his back to be crooked along with pushing his shoulders into a hunching position.
No more guilt was crushing him anymore, though. The cat had accepted his apology and was carefully pushing their head into Remy’s idle palm. The feeling of warmth, a bit of dampness and furry delight was tickling the receptors in his hand. The warmth travelled up to his chest, spreading throughout all of his body in the process.
“You are too good for me. Aw, Virgil. Little Queen of Salt”, he purred and gently shifted to lean over and started brushing over the smooth and slightly shining fur of his little companion.
His left was holding the curious head of a peculiar kitty cat and he gently started scritching their chin - well, the underside of their chin. It was a bit lighter than the rest of their body. At least, this is what it seemed like to him. It felt warmer and more brownish, yet just as lovely as the rest of them.
Peaceful purring filled the room with soft sounds and calming noise instead of haunting silence
“I love you too”, he chuckled.
Maybe he did not know everything about cats, nor did he understand all his little sass-bean was trying to express with their general body posture, the position of their torso or their tail either - really, he did not know much at all - but he was still trying his best. He certainly was getting better at it and this counted, did it not? Also, it was not like he did not try to educate himself. His workplace naps were replaced by reading in his “cat bible” and literally taking notes.
Hands gently curled around the food-filled body of a satisfied little void. Cradling the coal cat in his arms, he held them close to his heart and walked over to their couch.
“Does my little storm cloud want to cuddle?”
His voice was a low coo and the kitten responded with audible purrs and an enthusiastic bonk when their heads crushed together again.
 Ow.
... He would totally never get used to cats showing affection like that.
 Well, still worth it.
Apparently, cats did that to show love or some trash. Whatever, Virgil barely ever did it but it got more and more frequent after their first days together. Now it was more often instead of rarely but it certainly was not the most usual and common thing between them.
Still, it could change. At the moment he just wanted to relish in the warmth of their cuddles and the comfort of their intimacy.
Remy flopped onto the couch and left the cat on his chest while he simply laid down flat onto his back like a lazy plank swimming in the water. Just floatin’... simply going with the flow, adapting to any wave.
The cat returned the action by softly pushing their paws into his ribs. Lungs complained due to the compromised volume for more precious and essential oxygen. Not that Remy cared.. nor did Virgil have the cognitive ability to care.
 “You having fun there, kitty?”
This cat was royalty and Remy would continue to lay around and simply have them run up and down his body. All he wanted to do was.... just take off his pants and such and put on a more comfortable and flexible pyjama. Falling asleep in tight jeans was not as great (they were great for getting some looks from his boss, though). The idea of moving around right now was just as unpleasant as the idea of falling asleep and waking up in the pants he had worked and sweated in all day.
Unfazed by anything, the void was simply preparing their human bed for a little longer before settling down onto his ribcage...warm and pressing. Just a tad uncomfortable.
 “Okay, there you go-”
 Yes, this was love.
Remy was too exhausted and comfortable to feel too bothered by his air flow being obstructed. Slowly, he felt himself drift off. The man was soon in a light version of a slumber and gradually become a victim to the sweet relief of a little nap. The discomfort of sweaty and smelly clothes was forgotten when exhaustion took over. The overwhelming state of being physically drained got the best of him.
All good sentiment was forgotten when the comfort of a good cat and a warm home hugged him.
Bye bye meal he had wanted to have. He was already satisfied in other way.
He was home.
 This was heaven.

Even the wind makes a noise eventually
yall asked for it, here it is- the morro fanfic i spent three days on in a burst of inspiration and hey if yall want more of this kind of content lmk, i really enjoy writing (even though tumblr kinda screwed my formatting up)!
putting it beneath the read more bc its uh. a long one.
now cross-posted on ff and ao3!
character study of Wu and Morro || no ships || G (very mild swearing)
snapshots of Morro’s childhood- includes one of my headcanons (selectively mute!Morro)
The day the young sensei Wu found the child digging through his trash was one he’d never expected. The man had seen thousands of years, experienced thousands of things, and yet it had never come to his mind that a scenario like this could come up.
The child couldn’t have been more than ten, but his age was hard to tell with just how small and malnourished he was. His behavior was like that of a scared animal, skittish, fragile, and distant.
Wu watched him scarf down the food he’d left out for the third day in a row, his students peeking around him and out the gate at the sight with curiosity.
“Sensei, shouldn’t we bring him in?” Asked one of them on the fourth day.
“We will, but we must give him time.” Wu had replied, as he watched the boy scurry off, back down the mountain. He wasn’t going far, he’d been hanging around, like a stray dog who’d learned where a restaurant dumped its waste. He’d be back at the gate tomorrow, just a few paces away, far enough for a headstart on escaping if need be, close enough to snatch up the food before it was taken from him by someone who wasn’t there to take it.
Wu was a patient man. He would wait til the child was more comfortable.
It took a full week for the child to stop running off, for him to linger. Wu had studied him quite a bit in this time, and one thing he’d noticed is just how quiet he was, how hesitant he was to look at anyone for more than a moment, keeping his head down, letting his greasy hair drape over his face as if it hid him from view.
Dirt caked his hands, his arms and legs scraped up, and his clothing tattered.
He needed somewhere to go, to clean, to live.
This was only a child, after all.
Wu decided that the next day, he would approach him, and offer him the chance to come inside.
It was a lot like taking in a cat who’d lived outside its whole life. Wu left the gate cracked, and the child would wander in and out at will, staying in longer as his comfort grew.
Soon, he was sleeping inside the gate.
Wu made him up a room, seperate from his other students, closer to his own. The child was still skittish, he needed a pillar of support, and that would be Wu until he was okay on his own.
The child was bathed, clothed in something better, and fed. A silent, personal pledge was made: “I will keep this child safe.”
He couldn’t keep calling the boy by nothing, he needed a name.
Morro, he decided, as a lone hill, a mountain, isolated, was like he had once been.
Morro was still silent, going on a month living in the monastery. Hadn’t said a word to anyone, even though he had integrated nicely.
Wu had begun to wonder if, perhaps, he was mute. It wasn’t out of the question, of course, and he would find a way to communicate if he were.
And then one day, his wondering was put to rest.
“Morro, could you fetch my teapot?” Wu had been meditating, Morro sitting just across the room, silent and watching. He stood, slowly, and brought it over.
“Thank you.” Wu took the teapot carefully, and poured himself a cup.
A quiet moment, then, a hesitant reply. A voice Wu had wondered about for days.
“You’re welcome.”
Wu nearly spilt his tea.
Morro had begun to watch the students train, Wu noticed one day. He watched with curiosity, with a passion, a longing to do what they were doing. So he extended an offer.
“Morro, would you like to join in on the lesson?” His students paused, turning to look at the other, who shrunk back for a moment under the sudden attention.
“Um.”
“It’s alright, you can come and follow along.”
Cautiously, Morro stepped forward, shrinking further still under the eyes of his peers.
“Class- look forward.” The direction fixed that issue, as his students turned back to him, and Morro relaxed, taking up a space towards the back.
“Now, back to the lesson. What was I saying about quitting?”
Wu had a talent for spotting great potential, but sometimes that required pushing, maybe a bit harder than was considered kind.
Morro took a heavy hit, knocked down by an older student.
“Get up.” Wu barked, sounding quite like his father to his own ear.
Morro didn’t get up.
“Get up!” He repeated, and the child scrambled to his feet, meeting the other student’s eyes for a moment. Wu didn’t see the look of confusion on either of their faces as both of them realized that, for some reason, their sensei was being exceptionally hard on Morro. The lesson continued, as did the treatment.
And it continued on with every lesson after, Morro being pushed harder than the others for reasons no one was quite sure of.
Wu knew greatness when he saw it, and he knew how to push it out of someone.
Morro spent a lot of time sitting outside the gate, quietly watching the sky, eyes chasing kites as they flitted across the blue. Wu found him like that before class, as he often did, and he’d brought a gift. The boy had been around for a bit now, more than two months, and he’d been making great progress in his training with the extra pressure, yet, somehow, Wu felt they’d grown distant.
Maybe he was being too hard on him.
The gift was an attempt to try and mend.
When he handed Morro the kite, the reaction he’d gotten came in three steps:
Initial confusion, joy, then hesitation. Had Wu really pushed him that hard, that he’d doubt a gift? He nodded encouragingly, pointing up at the other kites, about to explain how to fly it before the teakettle went off and he had to go stop its whistling.
Morro held the kite a moment, then glanced to the sky, then back to the kite. Careful, he stirred the wind, as he’d been practicing in secret for years, the breeze lifting the kite up into the air. A stronger gust sent it higher, and he held it there, suspended in air.
That’s how Wu found him a moment later.
The wind seemed to stir up something else aside from the kite, a memory, a wonder in Wu.
The color green suddenly seemed to make sense.
Green, huh? Morro would wear green one day- be the one who kept everyone safe? Morro barely understood, destiny a confusing concept, but one thing was clear: training was about to be ramped up. He had to keep up- he was green. Green and green and green and what if he failed? If he didn’t live up to the expectations?
Memories of his past were few, but Morro remembered a bit.
The bit about his father- about the bitter noise and being chased off, no older than six, alone and alone and alone.
Morro could not fail.
The streets had never been kind- he never wanted to go back, and if he failed, oh God, if he failed he’d go back, wouldn’t he? Only kept around for his potential- wasn’t he?
Wu saw green and Morro was green- would be green.
Morro was good- stronger, faster, more resilient. He toppled the other students with ease, twelve years old with the spirit and force of a hurricane. Yet- Wu seemed displeased. What had he done wrong? He’d won, hadn’t he? Anger bubbled up- he needed stronger opponents.
“Get up!” Morro yelled, tugging at the arm of another student, who cowered, pulling away, afraid of the storm in the green eyes staring him down. “Get up!”
“Enough!” Wu has stepped down, off the steps, marching towards his prized student. If Morro was a hurricane, Wu was an apocalypse. He expected Morro to stop, to step away, but he didn’t. He turned, defiant, to his sensei.
“But Sensei-“
“I said enough.”
“When is ‘enough’ ever enough in my training, Sensei?” His voice, never more than a whisper, always so hidden, was harsh and loud now. It shook, still, despite its certainty in the moment.
“You are done for today, Morro. Room.”
The other students watched, tense, as they stared one another down. A moment, then Morro turned, averting his eyes, and ran off to his room.
Wu began to wonder if he had been wrong- if green wasn’t what he saw.
And yet training continued, and Morro grew stronger still, the deep rooted fear of rejection- of failing and being left- of the destiny he had been handed and forced to carry. Green, hm? He’d have to be good enough for green.
The day had come, a day Wu had been dreading, a day Morro had, with anxious breath, been looking forward to. Morro would be called Green and everything would be fine- Wu wouldn’t leave him, because he’d be green- he had to be he’d worked so hard to get here.
Wu smiled softly at his pupil, who strode into the room with sure steps, with fidgeting hands.
The weapons laid out. Morro closed his eyes, and stepped forward, surrounding himself with their golden light.
And it was silent.
Wu blinked, heaved a sigh.
Morro opened his eyes. No no no no no.
“I’ll train more- learn more lessons!” He couldn’t have come all his way for nothing. He couldn’t have spent so long, only for destiny to-
“Destiny has spoken.” Wu was calm, his worries of an over-ambitious green ninja put to rest. It wasn’t Morro, that was fine with him.
Anger, more than any Morro had ever felt, swirled like a cyclone in him. His sensei didn't care. He never had, had he? He’d only tolerated him for destiny’s sake. Morro, voice rough around its edges, underused for years, raised to a shout.
“Then I refuse to listen!” There was no way he could give up now- without a purpose, never having been given time for anything else but practice. Never having thought of the “what-if” enough to have a backup plan, Sensei so sure he wouldn’t need one. No purpose, no need for him- would he be thrown back out? The wind howled outside, and Morro yelled with all the force he had, grabbing the screen door, throwing it, a gale force trapped in the dojo. “You made me believe!”
The room was a mess, his student having torn it apart then left in a whirlwind. Wu stood, stomach in knots, guilt dying his mind from green to grey.
Morro was his biggest regret.
When Wu entered Morro’s room, he was greeted with a sight he hadn’t expected. The boy, still a child, had packed a bag with only the essentials, the cloth he’d tied it all in torn from his old kite. He was leaving?
Better to leave than be kicked out, better to act as though you’re okay when you want to cry, because Sensei trained you to be stronger than that.
Proving destiny wrong was no easy task.
One slip up, you’re dead.
Morro clambered into the cave, older now, alone. How he’d made it to eighteen while testing fate time and time again he’d never know.
A sound rumbled from somewhere- one of the tests? The room smelled awful, sickening, heavy clouds of smoke and soot, the ground beneath his feet covered in pebbles that rolled and slid whenever he took a step. Surely it was here, right? If only he could see!
A wind whipped up the smoke, clearing it away, shaking lose the unsteady surroundings. A cave in- like fate had found the least climactic way to kill him. The boulders that tumbled down pinned his legs, the smog and noxious gas filling his lungs. Too much of that and he’d be dead- if only he could move these damn rocks.
No breezes, no winds, nothing. He was pinned.
A slow death is what he deserved, he supposed.
A second per hour he’d wasted on this whole ordeal.
The cursed realm isn’t what he expected- though he should have. The First Spinjitzu Master wasn’t one to support people seeking out his tomb for personal reasons- for reasons going against destiny. Or maybe it was his years spent claiming to be the green ninja? His simple existence?
Cursed.
How fitting that ghosts were green.

Oh boy, fire emblem's an option here! Can I ask for hcs for Shiro and Asugi?? If not them, then Hinata? Bc seriously, fates has some of my favourite characters-
Fates has such a great cast, I love them all! It was so hard to decide who I wanted to end up with who. Of course, most of my favorite supports were the ones with Corrin. Hope you enjoy the headcanons!!
Shiro Headcanons:
There are two things that attract Shiro to someone: strength, and the eye to see flaws and improve. The kind of person Shiro would fall in love with is someone who makes him want to be better, for them.
Shiro is drawn to his love from the start, at first for purely surface reasons- you’re the most beautiful person he’s ever seen. But as time goes on, it becomes something more- it’s your strength, your dedication to improve, the attention you give him- if you can lay him flat in training, he’ll be yours.
He’ll be a little bitter about it, sure, but that just motivates him to train harder so that someday he can return the favor. You drive him to work harder.
Shiro also absolutely loves attention. He spent the majority of his life in the DeepRealms, pretty much alone. His parents never really had time to visit him- not while they were busy fighting in the war. Sure, he had people to watch him, but it was never the same as having a family there with him. If you pay attention to him, and genuinely seem interested in him, he’ll love it. He wants to be the center of your attention all the time.
Of course, he’s not selfish. If he likes attention, you must to, right? He’ll always be focused on you, always listen to you. He’s very observant, to- he strives to do better in every way, and improving his knowledge of you is one of his top priorities. He knows everything there is to know about you, and he uses the knowledge to his advantage when it comes to wooing you. He knows exactly what kind of gifts you’ll like, exactly where you’re likely to be at certain times, who you’re likely to be with.
Which might not be a problem at first, but you can expect it to become a problem quickly. He’s greedy for your attention- he doesn’t want you to pay attention to anyone other than him.
If his S/O is Corrin, part of his attraction is a feeling of kinship. They both spent their childhood isolated away from the rest of the world, sheltered and separated from their parental figures. If anyone understands him, it would be them, right?
Shiro wants you to be his willingly, which is why he goes to great lengths to woo you. If he has to fight to make you his, though, he gladly will.
He’ll try to impress you with his strength, entering tournaments in your name. If he proves himself to you, you’ll have to want him, right?
The quickest way to get him to do what you want is to just ignore him. He’ll cave almost instantly if you start ignoring him- he’ll do whatever you want, just please stop ignoring him?
Don’t push it too far, though- if you go too far, ignore him for too long, and he sees you spending time with someone else- well, he’ll take matters into his own hands.
If he has to kill them, so be it. Sometimes you have to kill people to protect the ones you love. If he has to abduct you- so be it.
He wouldn’t want to do it, of course- he remembers how it felt to be confined ‘for your own good’- but if he had to, he would.
He loves you- everything about you.
He’s at his best, when he’s with you- he needs you by his side, always.
Asugi Headcanons:
Asugi, on the other hand, loves sweet things, and his taste in S/O is no different.
Hopefully you like sweet things too, because you’re going to get a lot of them. He’ll bake anything and everything you want- and he’s a very good baker. He loves sharing his sweets with you.
Unlike Shiro, he’s not so needy- he could even be content just watching you from afar, if need be. Whether or not you pay attention to him in return isn’t his main priority.
Like his father, he’s very good at staying out of sight and trailing people, skills he’ll make use of with you. Not for anything nefarious, and to an extent, he’ll leave you some privacy- he just wants to make sure that you’re safe and happy!
Asugi’s a provider- anything you need, he’ll get it for you. If it’s something edible, he can make that for you himself, easy enough, and if it’s something else, well, he can always hold bake sales to raise money for it.
He wouldn’t steal for you, unless you explicitly asked him to- in his mind, it means more if he actually earns it.
Of course, he is a ninja- if anyone crosses you, he’s more than happy to eliminate them. He doesn’t need you to know it was him- he’s happy to do it quietly and keep it completely hidden from you, if he can. It’s unpleasant work, and it’s not something he wants his S/O to be concerned with.
Especially if Corrin is his S/O- Corrin has plenty of enemies, during the war, and Asugi is going to do everything in his power to get rid of those he can. He’d stand guard by their room when he could, making sure none of their enemies got even the slightest chance to hurt them.
If you turn him down after he confesses to you, he’ll leave it be. It’ll hurt him, more than anything, but he’s willing to drop it, for your sake. You can still be friends, right? He won’t exactly stop, of course. He’ll still follow you where you can’t see him, take care of people who get in your way, and provide for you. But he won’t push his affections on you if they’re unwelcome.
On the other hand, if you accept his affections, he’ll be the best boyfriend you could wish for. He’s very loving and open with his affection. He’d always want his hands on you in some capacity, an arm slung over your shoulders or wrapped around your waist, your hands intertwined, something. He’d take you out on nice dates whenever he got the opportunity.
Even if you don’t know it, you’re his, and he’ll always take care of you.
Hinata Headcanons:
Hinata is a lot like a puppy with his affection- he’s all over you, always seeking your presence and happiness. He never wants to be separated from you, not even for a moment.
Hinata is most attracted to someone that needs him, somehow. The most obvious way someone might need him is, of course, that they might need his protection, and of course that’s something he can provide! That’s something he wants to do, anyway- keeping his S/O safe is his biggest priority.
He’ll always keep you safe, so there’s really no need to leave his side, alright?
If his S/O is Corrin, he has mixed feelings upon meeting them- on the one hand, wow, they’re the most beautiful person he’s ever met, and they want his help with sparring- but, on the other hand, Lord Takumi doesn’t exactly like them.
Which isn’t exactly surprising. Takumi doesn’t like many people right off the bat.
Regardless, Hinata can’t help his attraction, which gradually grows into something more. When he looks at you, he sees someone that needs him, whether they know it or not (and whether this is actually true or not). You need someone to protect you, and of course he should be the one to do it.
Like Asugi, he would be very open with his affection, maybe even more so. He wants to be with you at all times. He wouldn’t be shy about doing things like hugging or kissing you in public- if anything, it’s just another way to show off that you’re his.
If you ever want to be apart from him, he’s not above guilting you about it. How could you want him to leave? Are you upset with him? Don’t you want him around? Don’t you need him?
Unlike Asugi, he wouldn’t accept it if you rejected his affections- he’d just keep trying to win you over. He’d be very sweet about it- so sweet, anyone who heard you complain about it would think you were just being silly, he’s so kind, it’s not like he’s doing anything wrong.
He would also enter tournaments in your name, like Shiro. He would very publicly announce after his victories that he was dedicating his victory to you- hopefully you’re not easily embarrassed.
Even if your face going all red is pretty cute.
He would never hurt you, of course. But if you were ever to try to be with someone else, well, they wouldn’t make it.They would only hurt you in the end, he knows it- they can’t be trusted.
And obviously, you can’t be trusted to make the best decisions for yourself either. And if you can’t be trusted to take care of yourself, he’ll just have to take care of you!
Even if you beg him to let you go, he won’t, because he knows he’s doing everything to keep you safe.
He’ll always keep you with him, no matter what.

I feel like we can see so much more of their personalities in OFD2: Like Hoshi seems to take a lot of heat for a while and even make it funny, but there's definitely a point where he'll snap. Seungkwan seems to have such a high EQ and is intuitive to what others around him are feeling and feels everything on a higher level. And a lot of them said they tried not to get angry bc of the cameras, and it makes you kinda wonder what they're like without cameras...
Pt.2 of OFD2 thoughts: Jun always puts others first which is opposite of the hyung team typical “leader” aka KING . Also, 95 line dynamic is interesting- I think JH is definitely devious and cunning, while SC is dorky dad but very competitive, and JS was the first to say, “should we talk about it?”- to which the other two agreed with. I wonder what 17 thought when JH debuted under an “angel” image. DK is kinda naive? But in a way that makes him trusting and very supportive of others.
I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond!! I wanted to wait until I had a computer so I could give this the work I think it deserves, and plus it helps now that I’ve finished OFD2!
There are quite a few interesting turns and revelations of personality, I agree. I like how the large conflict happened partially because they felt pressured to be entertaining. Part of Seventeen’s charm is how raw and natural they are in their humor and their dynamics. They’re all very harmonious after years of being together, and their humor flows very naturally just from their personalities. However, when put in a situation where they feel as though they are not interesting enough or funny enough, they begin to play jokes or make decisions that are not natural for many them such as hiding the other team’s objects or being mean spirited. They force themselves to try and be funny when they don’t feel they’re amusing enough because they don’t want to lose the love and attention of the fans which they consider valuable but also fragile, and stemming from how we think they’re funny or cute, which is true. But then directly after, they show the real reason why so many fans love Seventeen. Joshua goes to Coups and says “You know… I think they were really hurt. Maybe it would be good to talk to them?” and Coups says, “Do you think so? You’re probably right. We need to fix this right now.” and they all gather and apologize and talk it out and go back to being a team and a family. And I think that’s so so important. They consider their good will and strong relationships more important than any show, any gag, anything and even if Coups as the leader doesn’t realize he needs to call a meeting, he creates an environment where Joshua or any other member feels safe enough to tell him when there’s an issue or something that could be resolved or done better. And THAT’S leadership and family and everything.
Onto the personal levels, I’ve always called Seungkwan my honorary little brother and one of my “mind twins”, someone who thinks like me, because I honestly believe he’s incredibly emotionally intelligent. He senses the mood, and is so intuitive to everything happening around him. I believe that’s where he gets his humor and his desire to make others laugh, because he can tell when the mood is bad and he makes it his mission to find the right thing to help the members to feel better, even if it means kicking his legs up after hours and hours of exhausting practice and cheering that they can make it through even though he’s just as tired as everyone else.
Jun is another one of my “mind twins”, because he very rarely enjoys being in charge of things, but he likes to feel in control. Normally, he does this by remaining in the background, doing what needs to be done as he sees fit. If the room is a mess, he’s not The8 levels of must-keep-clean, but if it bothers him enough he’ll clean up without mentioning it or making it a big deal, or he’ll cook when he’s hungry or Wonwoo asks him. His episode of being the king fascinated me, as we don’t get many chances to be in the spotlight and in power. The very first thing he does is he recruits Seungkwan, very likely because, as we just discussed, because Seungkwan has the ability to read the atmosphere of the members and smooth things along well, helping it be less awkward. Jun also tries his own ways of making it less awkward, by making cute jokes and referring in kind, cute ways to the members in the rare occasion that he has to tell them to do something. The hyung line turning “leader” into “king” was actually a cute, fun change to make, and it demonstrated a lot how the members each handle the responsibility. Coups, for instance, jokingly become a tyrant, because for once the role of leader is a temporary, easy task with only the burden of deciding a schedule and buying things instead of his usual thankless, hard work of mediating with the members and the company and dissolving fights and having to be the voice of reason and hard work. Wonwoo also used it to be tyrannical, because generally Wonwoo is an easy target for teasing and fun jokes and he doesn’t take it too much to heart, but this gave him the power to turn the jokes around. Jun, however, demonstrated himself in the way of being a little more caring and worried about the members, and it was fortunate it fell on a day where the production team had planned a full schedule so he didn’t begin to feel horribly pressured.
‘95 line dynamic is so interesting. As individuals, there’s the leader with the responsible dad side as well as the immature kid side, the dark angel who is both kind and cunning, and the sweet and gentle boy who is also a dork. They all have multiple “faces”, sides that they show at different times. And then there are pairings which is almost like a mix-and-match flavor game. You can have the cunning swindler who is willing to manipulate his way into anyone’s heart and the sweet boy with the soft voice who you can’t help but love without him doing anything. You can have the hyper competitive boyfriend-winning-a-stuffed-animal-at-a-fair type and also the kind heart who will joke and compete but will make sure you’re okay when it’s all over. You can have the caring but snarky angel who will care for you but do so in an overblown “who’s child are you” way and the leader who cares for you by taking your punishments for you or making you sit down with the person you’re mad at and talk it out even if you don’t want to. The dynamic possibilities are amazing and just so so good and I can’t talk too much about them, but the example of the episode with the whole mess going down is a fantastic example of the dynamic of Joshua and Coups, which we don’t see often. Joshua going to Coups and openly expressing his own discomfort, but not telling Coups “as a leader, go fix it” but gently nudging him, opening him to the idea of it, and Coups readily accepting the guidance and idea as the leader. I hope we can see more of their dynamic soon.
and lastly since this is getting way too long, precious DK. DK has a very interesting image, somewhere between awkward and naive. I’ve written about this before, but I think one of the most if not the single most important dynamic in Seventeen is the one between Hoshi and DK. As friends, they’re cute and Soonseok is life, but as people, Hoshi is so so important in DK’s life. DK is a little naive, but he’s also very kind-hearted. because of this, he aspires to do what Seungkwan can do, read the atmosphere and brighten people’s day with jokes and laughter. However, often it backfires on him. People end up laughing at him instead of with him, calling him naive when he wasn’t being, and sometimes they don’t laugh at all. While some things are fragile about Seungkwan, his jokes being rejected aren’t that high on the list. However, for DK, it feels like a personal insult to his good intentions and it can get him down. Hoshi is a popular member, and his friendship with DK sort of validates DK’s fragile confidence, giving him the boost he needs to try and lighten the mood. Hoshi balances out DK, laughing at his jokes and taking his concerns seriously, and he helps act as a connection to get DK to Seungkwan without the burden of them sharing the same role without the burden of seungkwan getting more praise and recognition, and seungkwan recognizes his good intentions and can help his jokes take off like Hoshi can. Without the presence of Hoshi in the group, it’s hard to imagine that DK would be anything less than a black sheep talented but often unable to communicate with the rest of the group. He is naive and trusting, but he’s also supportive just like you said, and i’m glad during OFD we got to see him develop a character without the help of Hoshi for a little while, kind of to show how much his confidence is grown, even just for a little bit.
