i’m aware i’m 100% alone in this, but i genuinely adore ascended astarion (especially when romanced) because of how—frankly—horrific it is. it’s simultaneously so cathartic in its brutality but so unsatisfying personally while managing to be narratively satisfying (just as his other outcome is, of course).

Remember when Daigo snuck away from Mine to take a taxi to meet the people who were black mailing him with Kiryu. So Mine bought shares in every taxi company in order to track down which one Daigo took and where and used that to rescue him.

I think after Yamori’s torture, Kaneki would have some scars looking similar to rings across all his fingers and toes. Since they were shown to be cut most often, they started healing with scar tissue where they were cut, and underneath them there’s some small pockets of rc tissue instead of regular layers of skin. There’s also some lighter scars across the rest of his body from the torture, but none of them are as prominent as the one he got from surgery because of his improved regeneration.

Kaneki as an old guy isn’t too much different to when he was younger - his clothes are exactly the same and he uses most of his time after retiring reading, maybe he takes up knitting so he can make his own sweaters, maybe some word puzzles. The only legit difference is that he sleeps more and has a lot of stories from his youth. He basically spent his entire life preparing to be the most stereotypical grandpa ever :)

After a couple years his hair turns black again, and he gains a teeny bit of weight as he gets older. Most of his exercise now is walking and riding his bike. For a while he tried to maintain his physique so he could hunt investigators and occasionally other ghouls if they really bothered him, but when his body started failing harder (mostly joints and spine issues from sleeping like a pill bug) he went after suicide victims again. Then when harvesting the bodies became too taxing, I doubt he’d live too long. Sometimes the younger employees at Touka’s cafe would bring him meat but he’d feel very guilty about not being able to get it himself. As compensation, he might tutor the employees who’re in uni or high school.

#I actually think that Bruce is a really interesting choice for a story focused on these anti-civilization groups #some of the Hulk’s stories get into man versus nature #and that can be with Bruce representing man and the Hulk representing nature #or it can be with the Hulk versus society #for example there was a short story earlier in this series where an old man was frustrated by how much his hometown had changed #all of the technological advancements and nobody was much paying attention to each other anymore #and then the Hulk came rampaging through because he got upset by the lights and smells and sounds of the city #all the cars and construction and advertisements #but he’s also the only one that’s in tune with his surroundings enough to actually notice the man #and afterwards the old man determines that the Hulk isn’t a monster and has some admiration for him for trashing the street #I think that part of the appeal of the Hulk for some people has been his disconnection from society #he’s appealing because he expresses frustration for or rejects things that those readers believe they just have to put up with #can you imagine the Hulk putting up with an office job?#no he’d do what he’d like which is to smash the office and go off in the woods #there’s a wish-fulfillment element for some people #I can actually also see a throughline between these anti-civilization people’s beliefs #that there will definitely be people out to get them if they don’t arm themselves #and the Hulk’s paranoia that all humans hate him and won’t leave him alone #which is not me saying that I think the Hulk’s worldview is reasonable based on his experiences #and therefore that I think these people's is too #just that I think there’s a lot of potential for further complicating some of the themes that this character has been used for #by critiquing these kinds of people #marvel #bruce banner #my posts #comic panels
