Ketu placement and your most core self
So i want to talk about my personal experience about an artist I love, how she has been haunting me throughout my life and about how art imitates life.
I have ketu in jyeshta nakshatra,(and shoutout to all my 2002 babies with ketu in jyeshta, love u) and at age 10 i discovered an artist whose name i've heard of but never knew. I clicked on a song that youtube recommended called "Back to December" and i really do remember it so clearly, how natural it was and how i wasn't thinking as i branded Taylor Swift (sun in jyeshta) my favourite artist. I remember explaining passionately to my dad why I loved this song and how it differed from RED and how those songs were my safe space because while i had to try hard for anything else, this was natural and easy and just perfect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here i credit claire nakti, who you should know if you're interested in vedic astrology. She made a video about ketu and creativity and one's "daemon" that is really worth checking out.
Moving on, ketu is your creative, primal energy that is unaware. It's the headless body, the tail of the serpent, our past, where we come from, what is natural for us, past lives and untamed power. For example, as a ketu in jyeshta native I've always felt close to the hero archetype (I even wrote a song about that around that time), the poor orphan who rises into the world, the brave soldier who outsmarts everyone, the survivor, the winner against all odds, the grumpy independent individual, and even as a young girl, the archetype of the eldest daughter, which I actually am. I've always felt a little masculine at my core, and this explains why, as jyeshta is very masculine. All these archetypes I associate with jyeshta.
Jyeshta is known as "the best". You can only be the best if everyone else is worse, so we have the theme of competition. Jyeshta is located fully in Scorpio, and is very much about the occult side of life. It's shakti (power) is "to rise, conquer and gain courage in battle" (multiple sources). I know personally that jyeshta will never let you win an argument or back away from tension, the exception is only when there's no need to. My jyeshta moon cousin makes me so mad because he's always trying to lecture me to appear smart. That's definitely a more negative manifestation of its energy.
Anyways, in her video, claire nakti says that if you feel drawn to some art, it's been most likely created by someone with their primary placement in your ketu nakshatra. Now, this is not a rule, as I've definitely liked other artists, but Taylor's music felt too personal and custom-made for me, like she knew my taste and life from inside out.
Flash forward to summer 2019 and Taylor has released Lover, I'm sitting on a hill and cannot believe how Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince is so perfect, so me.
I went through my reputation era when she went through it, i went through a personal rebirth as she released Lover, I felt depressed and alone when I finished my school and she released folklore (tbh most of us did(SOLIDARITY TO CLASS OF 2020 MAKE SOME NOISE)) . Around that time I disovered Dickinson(a tv show) and here is my next point.(?)
Dickinson stars Hailee Steinfeld(jyeshta sun) as Emily Dickinson(also jyeshta sun), and it's about her life, yes, but mostly it's about Emily's creativity. There's a character called death that I believe relresents Emily's daemon(watch claire nakti's video for more clarity, but basically it's the opposite sex version of you, your creative self, and is represented by your ketu). Death appears whenever Emily feels different, like she needs time alone to herself and rides with him in his carriage, he also empowers her. Interestingly, Hailee Steinfeld's ketu is in Uttara Bhadrapada, which is Wiz Khalifa's(death) moon. That, in my eyes, solidifies the theory that he's representing her daemon.
Tumblr media
I had discovered claire nakti recently at that time and also discovering this art that felt very personal to me was a little overwhelming, not to mention that i was going through a VERY stressful time in my life. As i grew so did my creative energy and I reached a certain block, but now I look at my art from that time and it's so... raw and pure and true. Tbh that time was extremely traumatic for me and it's traumatic to remember it but hey, I'm so much better now. I started my ketu antardasha at that time and it ended in february 2021. Still hard to remember yes, but I heard ketu dashas always are, you always come out more beautiful and true out of it tho 🙂.
So, be careful with ketu energies, they're not for us to misuse. There's always Venus after ketu so it's another reason to smile.
Please interact with me if any of this was interesting or felt familiar. Not all posts are going to be like this, in fact, I think they're gonna be more rare. This was a really serious post and brought up some stuff in me ngl. I really didn't deserve to go through the trauma, nobody does. But it's not all consuming, it was nothing really, it was just traumatic at the time. Anyways this is becoming a lot so wait for more aesthetic posts, I'm venusian after all 💖💖💖 love u guys, take care. 🤍

I made a mistake.
It has come to my sudden attention that this blog has been harbouring an error most appalling in nature. This oversight has been left unchecked for 61 days as of now, and I am here to apologize.
Today, as it turns out, was actually our 100th day. For day 100, I had planned to post a tribute to all 99 previous days, but while embarking on this endeavour, I encountered a blunder that seems to have slipped through the cracks and gone unnoticed. Some of you may have noticed it and failed to contact me about it, and for that I shame you, as I pride myself on my organisation skills and punctuality. For those of you who have not noticed, you may have guessed by now.
That's right... there are two Day 39s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in my ignorance, I posted Day 40 the next day. Every day since then has therefore been incorrect.
In repentance, there will be no Day 100, and no special occasion or celebration of any kind. I do not deserve it for my ignorance, and you all do not deserve it for fostering such ignorance.
Starting today, days will be numbered correctly. Think of this as a new beginning, or a rebirth of sorts. Day 101 will be tomorrow. Don't look back. While the past crumbles away under our feet, the future welcomes us with open arms, pulling us with it into a new era of medics.
Thank you all for embarking with me on this journey.
Yours truly,

Flower Symbolism in Trigun
Okay so I've been going insane in the last few hours since the new episode of Stampede and I needed to share my very incoherent thoughts.
So here we go: (please excuse my grammar, I'm typing this up in an absolute craze)
Please note, there are major spoilers here
[Plant in context to Trigun will be capitalized btw]
I want to start off by pointing out the whole idea with calling the creatures that Vash and Knives are as 'Plants' and 'seeds' in the first place--that in itself is so much. Not to mention Noman's Land is a desert plant with little to no flora at all.
The idea and symbolism of life and rebirth presented with the idea of plants. Like how flora are usually the first type of lifeform to come back post mass extinction events. How plants are primary producers in the food chain, how life couldn't be sustained without plants giving up oxygen, food, and converting the sunlight into energy/sugar. Despite being giant moth flower humanoid creatures, the Plants in Trigun are doing essentially the same thing. Except they aren't renewable and they might also be sentient.
In addition to that, in media, seeds are usually a representation of hope. And in this case, a seed pod carrying the hope of humanity. I've been likening it to dandelion seeds. I don't think our group of guys were the only space-fairing fleet that was sent out from Earth.
I don't know how much of this symbolism is intentional and how much of it is completely accidental, but boy howdy is it there and am I going to eat it up.
Geraniums!
Tumblr media
First off, the most obvious one is geraniums. The flower is very much thrown into our faces. What does it mean?
Okay so there's like 400 types of geraniums out there, they're not like a specific species- and when people say 'geraniums' it usually also includes pelargoniums which are a different genus. But you're not here for me to monologue about flower classification-
Tumblr media
Well, operating under the assumption they're using the most common type of red geranium, which, funnily enough is not a geranium but rather a pelargonium. Pelargonium x hortorum. Commonly known as zonal geraniums or garden geraniums. I don’t know if I even need to expand on the idea that Vash and his story (and the Plants in general) are represented by geraniums. If the red coat wasn’t already a giveaway, I think the newest episode definitely makes it very clear. Well, first off I think it's interesting that they’re not ‘true geraniums’ (different genus, same family). Like how Vash and Knives look human but aren’t ‘true humans’.
(Did you know geraniums can reproduce asexually via their roots by just…sprouting a new plant? It’s called clonality. Anyways yeah, I’m too lazy to expand on it but there it is. You can probably see the connection I'm trying to draw here)
Furthermore, let’s look a little bit into what geraniums represent. So according to the vast knowledge of the interwebs (I will put the links I used at the bottom.) geraniums are “attributed the powers of love, peace, healing, elegance and spirituality. They mostly have desirable symbolizing meanings, including fertility, health, joy, protection, frustrations passing away, and true friendship.” Red geraniums in particular are attributed to protection and ward against evil., spiritual beings and saints. “The geranium flower was a symbol of prosperity in Egypt, longevity in Japan, and immortality in China”. *Stares at Vash and Knives*. Gods…immortality…saints. Alright Nightow, I see you.
Look, I’m not done here. DURING THE VICTORIAN ERA geranium took on a slightly more negative meaning. Envy, deceit, folly, foolishness and stupidity. Although they were also seen “as ‘horticultural bourgeoisie’ and a sign of ‘crudeness and thoughtlessness of taste’. Geranium became a symbol of industrial mass culture.” This was probably unintentional (and if it is intentional, holy fuck.) but the idea that Earth in Trigun was destroyed by the folly of humans because if mass industrialization? Hello???? OKAY.
There’s just so much history with geraniums. I’m STILL not done. Let’s talk a little about geraniums and Christianity, yeah? You know, the thing that Trigun is chock full of symbolism of.
So first off, tradition. (I am not Christian, nor do I know much about Christianity, I just did some research on the topic so feel free to correct me.) I do believe there is a tradition to buy and gift red geranium on Good Friday? (I can’t find a very credible source about this, just some blog posts so idk) And the red is to represent the blood that Jesus sacrificed for the people. How he was beaten and bloodied because of his love for the people. How…he was given a purple cloak that turned dark with blood while he was mocked.
Sound familiar?
Do we want to talk about Vash’s red coat turning black in the latest episode? Or maybe how traditionally dying Plants are red and healthy ones are blue? But Vash keeps himself covered in red?
Now, here’s an interesting fact. Did you know, wild geraniums look very different from the ones people like to commonly grow in their gardens? This is the spotted cranesbill (Geranium maculatum), the most common wild geranium. Look, maybe I’m stretching it here, but cultivated Plants vs independent Plants, anybody?
Tumblr media
Anywho, not the point I was trying to make. Did you know another common wild geranium is called the Saint Robert’s Geranium? Robert’s? While no one really knows who the ‘Saint Robert’ the flower is named after, it has a very fun symbolism. Check this. The seed pod of this flower supposedly looks like the beak of a stork, which had people believe that they could help a couple who wish for children with fertility when used as an amulet and placed under the bed. cough Ep 11 pregnancy scene cough. Apparently, medicinally they’re also used to staunch blood flow from wounds. Despite that, in certain regions, it was seen as an ill-omen plant associated with death because snakes would often hide in its leaves. Snakes? Like…in Adam and Eve? Like as in temptation? As in Knives and Vash?
Okay last bit on geraniums. Just a little on the colors. In episode 11 of Stampede we see the giant plant root monster thing blooming flowers. I have assumed that they are black geraniums, aka Geranium Phaeum
Tumblr media
aka mourning widows. Of course, I could be wildly wrong but the meaning of this is fun so hear me out. While there doesn’t seem to be a direct meaning for black geraniums, we can clearly draw some conclusions on the common name for this flower. Like seriously, mourning widow? They’re also known as dusky cranesbill and black widow. Obviously associated with death (and grief?) and apparently maybe marriage??? Doesn’t help that geraniums can be considered a traditional bridal flower too. I think they’re also associated with melancholy. Anyways, on the other hand, blue blooms usually symbolize calm and peace while purple blooms symbolize royalty, accomplishments and admiration.
So in context to the blooms we see at the end of ep 11, grieving for the loss of someone (Rem, his memories), rising to his Plant roots (haha get it?) and being ‘at peace’.
HEY LET'S TALK ABOUT DOGWOOD
So I remember reading somewhere that he’s named after a singer or band or something but– His name is so close to dogwood that I could not pass it up.
Dogwood is a blooming tree that seems to have a representation in Christianity. There’s a legend about the tree and Easter. So apparently, the cross that Jesus was crucified on was made from Dogwood, because of such it was cursed and blessed. Cursed to be small so it can’t be used to make another cross but blessed to bloom beautiful flowers at Easter time.
Tumblr media
The flowers of the Dogwood trees always bloom with four petals, like a cross, the center like a crown of thorns. Each tip of the petal is indented like it's been pierced with a nail and discolored like it was stained with blood. So goes the story.
I think it's interesting that Wolfwood’s name is so likened to this flower/plant and I don’t believe this is unintentional. LIke it’s right there. Cursed by the Eye of Michael to grow too fast, blessed to be strong and hard to kill. Is/bears the cross that brings Vash to Knives in the end.
Lilies (and other Flowers)
So, I personally think the plants look a lot like lilies. And lilies are commonly attributed to the virgin Mary. They typically represent purity, innocence and rebirth. They are often gifted at mourning flowers as well and are one of the most popular flowers at funerals.
Tumblr media
Either that or the blue-eyed Mary flower, which has less meaning attributed to it other than its name.
Tumblr media
Anyways, that's all my thoughts for today. Thank you for reading all the way down here if you make it hehe
If people find more flower symbolism or have thoughts please let me know, I want to hear them!!!<3

I think coming back to comics the way I did really affected how I read them--in short, I started reading DC around the end of No Man's Land (or at least I was seeing NML books in the store, I was a very wee thing and so my memory is super fuzzy about that time), though it took me awhile to really acclimate, but I was a fairly faithful reader until Flashpoint/New 52, which at the time I loathed so much that I swore off DC comics for 10+ years (I was so, so into Dick & Damian as Batman & Robin, you don't know how eagerly I looked forward to every issue! I was so devastated to lose that!), but then Nightwing (2016) #100 happened to cross my path and I saw Dick tackle-hug Bruce and call him "dad" to his face and, oh, well, shit, here I am again, I guess, as if my vendetta against DC never happened--because I have a solid foundation of preboot understanding of the characters, I have a solid foundation of understanding the origin of Nu52 as a continuity-wide reboot, but since I was gone, Convergence happened, Rebirth happened, whatever Dawn of DC is, and I'm not reading in any particular order. So, I'm reading preboot comics, I'm reading Dawn of DC comics, I'm reading Nu52 comics, I'm reading Rebirth comics, and I generally know what goes into what era, but because I have to do the mental math each time, it's given me this sense of... ephemeralness, I guess. No one story or continuity is the only one I have to choose from. No one story or continuity is the only one that will ever exist. Sure, previous to this spate of reboots and reboot-lites, retcons happened all the time. And it's not like those stories never happened within the larger meta context of the narrative, a lot of them have come back into continuity. But it lends a sense of the stories being ephemeral, I read them and enjoy them or don't, I take each story as a thing unto itself and maybe some cool over-arching themes, but let go of the idea that each comic has to be a puzzle piece that fits together with the others. Each comic run stands on its own, I enjoy it or I don't, and anything else is a bonus. So, I read something that might have pissed me off if I were coming at this from a different angle, but instead I end up thinking, "Oh, that had some neat ideas in it!", I don't care about the dumb bullshit in it, because, eh, I've already forgotten about it, it's ephemeral, it's already gone from my mind. Too many reboots/reboot-lites in such a short period of time for any one thing to matter. There is no solid ground beneath me and I have learned to enjoy that for what it is. And, I have to say, as funny as it is to be like "nobody hates comics like comics fans hate comics", it's actually a lot more fun to just not care about the bad and enjoy a story for whatever it is and let the rest fall away. I'm going to hold onto that feeling as long as I can! Because, for the first time in probably like 20 years, I'm eagerly picking up new comics and enjoying a lot of them, instead of just the one or two authors I previously deigned to like. 😂

HI doing my kyle readthrough (up to oyl) rn and i must know what are some of your fav issues/arcs 🙏 and if there's anything u think i should just skip. if ur feeling hateful enough
HI i appreciate this ask a lot i don't know if i count as any paragon of kyle expertise but... well. that's never stopped me.
if you're up to oyl you're pretty far along, and i assume you'd seen a handful of reading guides that nudge you towards all of gl (1990) #48-181 and its surrounding crossovers, including zero hour (1994) and final night/parallax: emerald night (1996). i derive most of my takes on his character from this era.
green lantern rebirth and gl publications thereon are often (in)famously authored by mr. geoff johns, so i cannot in good conscience integrate most of that body of work into my belief system. that being said! it does include the buildup to ion (2006) #1-12, which, while not perfect, has phenomenal art and is also pretty key to kyle's whole ethos. the buildup to ion is the following:
green lantern: rebirth (2004)
green lantern corps: recharge (2005)
rann/thanagar war: infinite crisis special (2006)
ion (2006)
if you're not allergic to ensemble comics, he is also a frequent cast member in jla (1997) for the first 70 or so issues; it's a good place to look to see him foster relationships with other members of the dc universe (like wally, whose friendship with kyle is basically nonexistent nowadays but i have not forgotten) and gradually gain confidence as gl. some highlights include:
jla (1997) #1-7 — he's such a rookie here. he's clearly very new to the game and nervous about it, so it's a good look into how he started off and what he grew from.
jla/titans (1998) #1-3
jla (1997) #16-17
jla (1997) #32-46 — tie-ins to no-man's land, hal's return as the spectre in #35, and the world war iii/tower of babel storylines.
green lantern: circle of fire (2000) — starts about here, in terms of publication timeline, but portrays a version of kyle that is still relatively new to the jla. the kylealex worms are here.
jla (1997) 47-68, #70, #72-75
jla (1997) #76 — kyle's final issue in the JLA's main rotation, as a tie-in for the later events in gl (1990). john steps in for him.
as for standalones, personal recommendations, or just random appearances i happen to remember:
green lantern/flash: faster friends (1996) #1-2 — (to an empty auditorium) WALLY AND KYLE WOO! WOO!
total justice (1996) #1-3 — more budding hero kyle. wally is a hater. tim is also there.
dc universe holiday bash (1996) #1 — kyle goes to synagogue and beats white supremacists :)
dc universe holiday bash I (1997) #1 — connor and kyle go holiday shopping. very cute also.
adventures in the dc universe (1997) #11 — kyle and wonder woman hang out! he also gets bullied by children and falls into a sewer.
superman (1986) #159, #165, #170
batman chronicles (1995) #15 — be fucking nice bruce
green lantern 3D (1998) — standalone. jen and kyle being cute.
green lantern secret files and origins (1998) #1-3
green lantern 80-page giant (1998)
flash 80-page giant (1998) — kyle appears for two pages but it's of wally asking him about alex because he's worried about his own relationship. kyle gets very sad and visibly withdrawn to the point that wally apologizes. VERY FUNNY.
(final note: THANKS! i am so flattered. was it because of the kyle slayner shooba wooba cherry pie brownie cake post. i rambled on for way longer than i thought i would. i hope this is helpful, and happy reading!)

Go to hell anon cause I care!
Also I really want to get into Huntress and all her story but the whole comic universe in DC feels very intimidating to me. I've read a couple shorter stories of other characters but was wondering where I should start with her.
Background context on what I know or don't know about her: I don't know anything about her backstory except for vague connections w the batfam and Bruce. The only media I've consumed of her is from Justice League Unlimited (the animation series)
Now that that's out of the way. Where do you think I should start with her comics?
Hello Inkreads!
I was attempting to put together a complete reading guide for you and everyone else, seeing as there are no complete guides for Helena Bertinelli online right now, and the most comprehensive one still has things out of order, messes things up, and doesn't have the Rebirth stuff. This ask inspired me to take that information and try to put the info from the two most complete reading guides together and create something better.
It is taking me longer than I would like, and I didn't want to leave you hanging when it came to getting information on how to read Helena's comics. So I am going to give you a quick run down of some important storylines and comics you should read for the character, and I will also include the links to the incomplete reading lists if that is something more preferable to you, and other ways you can find information on her.
This list and the website I was and am using for my readthrough were given to me by my friend @gretaghostgirl. (Sorry for tagging wanted to given you credit)
Tumblr media
So quick note on the picture. You are going to want to read Blunt Trauma before you read No Man's Land.
This is just a list of her main appearances and not her guest staring, and cameos so you might miss some stuff, but this will give you the run down on her story before New 52.
I don't have a list for you on New 52 stuff, or Rebirth, but I can show you the way I keep track of those eras of comics.
League Of Comic Geeks is where I track my comic collection and the comics I have read. It is both an app and website. It will keep track of not just DC but Marvel and other comic companies.
I will be using the app version to show how it can be done. I have purple arrows pointing to things, because purple was the color it was on, but also Huntress themed.
So in the app you have a homepage that looks like this [Here is mine]
Tumblr media
Once you click on the search bar your going end up on a page that has this and some more info [I cut down some of the pictures to save space.]
Tumblr media
Type in Huntress
Tumblr media
Now that you have a search you can look at series, specific issues, and characters. For what we want to do click characters.
Tumblr media
Now you are going to have a page with all characters that have used the name Huntress. The Huntress we want for the reading list I gave you is Prime Earth. [But the Helena from Justice Lesgue Unlimited is Earth-12 (DCAU) If that also interests you.] So click Prime Earth Huntress.
Tumblr media
You should now be at a page that looks like this. You get some basic information, other personas the character has used, and you can go to Titles, or Timeline. For what we want click Timeline.
Tumblr media
You should end up with a list of dates like this. On the right side of the year heading you should see a number. That indicates how many comics/trades/omnis she has been in that year. You can click the number to minimize the year. It can make searching quicker.
Tumblr media
I minimized down to 2011 which is right before FlashPoint happened giving us New 52. From here you can scroll. However it doesn't go all the way to Huntress (1989) #1 and some other stuff may be missing because this is only the Huntress version of Helena Bertinelli stuff. IE you won't get most of No Man's Land or her N52 stuff because she uses different names.
To get rid of this problem you can type Helena Bertinelli in the search bar instead of Huntress.
Tumblr media
Same steps apply, and you'll get more of her appearances!
Now for links to websites to help you on your reading journey!
1. This website is the huge reading list I am using that is incomplete, and still being ordered around, but is a huge help. [Link]
2. This is the Ao3 link to how to read No Man's Land. No Man's Land is hugely important for multiple characters, and Helena plays a big role in the story, so instead of nitpicking her issues I would recommend reading the whole story if you can. The first chapter is just a rundown of events, but the second chapter is the reading order. [Link]
The Ao3 user who made the rundown and list is @havendance on Tumblr. (Sorry for the tagging, giving credit)
If you have any more questions reach out, and I will help to the best of my ability. And I hope this was helpful in some ways to you.

I’ve personally always taken the fire vs water imagery from Eras tour as sort of Taylor being like ‘everything burned down around me, I burned some of it down myself, the waters of grief nearly drowned me, the waters of that grief cleansed me as well, and in the chaos of it all, here I am, celebrating everything I lost and everything I gained, etc’ The eras tour is very obviously a celebration of creation (Taylor’s vast catalogue, her relationship with her audience, etc) but it’s also an acknowledgment of the destruction that has gone hand in hand with the creation for pretty much her entire career.
Also, i know that we all complain about swifties lacking nuance on the internet, but it truly does do such a disservice to the artistry of the live performances to try to narrow everything down to one meaning (I mean this generally, I do not think you are guilty of this fyi!!). Like the fire burning behind her, the water raging around her, it’s both something she caused and something that was done to her by others. It’s simultaneously about destroying and grieving and suffering and also about celebrating and rebuilding and succeeding, etc. She primarily choose Fire and Water for the tour visuals at emotional heights of the concert. Fire destroys but it also creates room for new, stronger growth. Water cleanses/nourishes/gives life but it also destroys.
I haven’t fully articulated my thoughts on all of the tour imagery (particularly the visuals based around natural extremes) so this is the most I can spit out right now, but I do think the natural extremes (fire and water) shes chooses are very intentional and that they really lean into feelings associated with the high and lows of her music and career overall.
no you're so right and she's used fire and water to indicate both of those things - rage, death, rebirth - throughout her career! (it's also an extremely common metaphor in general.)
when i was drowning that's when i could finally breathe ... i am finally clean -> drowning but finding herself by the ocean in the ootw mv.
cardigan's mv, where she uses music to literally stay afloat in her despair, and she's a different person when she returns to her cabin.
i'm a fire and i'll keep your brittle heart warm, i am ash from your fire, i'm getting tired even for a phoenix, etc.
also, fire and water are unstoppable forces, stronger than her. she's carried away by water, unable to stop it - fire consumes and takes over things quickly.
she's been burned but she's also a protective fire. she's drowned and been unmoored, but she can also take down ships and find herself below the current.
and these symbols in particular - fire and water - are so common and pervasive in myths, stories, the shared human consciousness, that they always have various meanings. so to your point: yes, they have multiple meanings!

Owari no Seraph chapter 134 english fan translation
Howdy hi howdy hey vampy fans I am back and this is 80 years late but I'm doing it anyways. You've probably all read the official, but please check it out anyways if you haven't and thanks for reading!
Shinoa's all-out assault extends to the First...
Shinoa: AHAHAHAHHAHA!!
Shikama: O, Darkness! Put some distance between-...
Shinoa: Gekkouin.
Shinoa: Shooting Star.
Shikama: You're a monster.
Shinoa: One that you created.
Shikama: Yuu, Yuu! Hurry, you need to get to where I am.
Shinoa: I'll look over your memories for you now.
Shinoa: I'm going to see every piece of your plan, and I'm going to take all of your power for my own.
Chapter 134: Merry-Go-Round of Life*
Ferid Narration: I wish I could stop existing. I want to kill myself. I wish I was never born in the first place. I can't keep it contained. This desire to just destroy everything, it's going to overflow. I'm going to go crazy with it.
Ferid Bathory, age 16
Ferid: Ahhh....maybe I'll seriously just explode about it.
Ferid Brother: So, you ran off here again. Do you ever do anything but read?
Ferid: Oh, Nii-sama! Or should I have started calling you 'Your Majesty' by now?
FBro: YOU can call me whatever you want.
Ferid: Alright then, Onii-sama
FBro: Get off
Ferid: Whatttt
FBro: Listen, Ferid, the situation our territory is in has changed so drastically since our Father the King and our mother died suddenly in that accident. The country's fate rests entirely on our still young shoulders.
FBro: So it'd just be really nice if you could pick yourself up and take some of the responsibillity-...
Ferid: No wayyy...you're the great hero I'm good where I am
FBro: Not so fast, you're the smart one out of us. You're also in the good favor of many, if you hadn't come to my rescue a separate faction would've split off. It would've been the end of this country.
Ferid: ...that's not true at all. Nii-sama is the more well-liked one.
FBro: But this is our moment, our golden era. If you'd stand at my side, we could have this entire continent that even Father could never conquer.
Ferid: Wowwww!
Fbro: Would you stop playing the peanut gallery? If you'd, no-we have to do it together.
Ferid: I don't really care to, though.
FBro: Seriously?
Ferid: Wealth and power and the crown, these things have no allure to me. Maybe I'll understand when I'm older, but I don't really get what there is to even be alive for.
Ferid: So, y'know. I mean, if you order me around I'll be right at your service, but.
FBro: Geez, you still haven't changed. But it's exactly your lack of greed that makes you easy to trust.
Fbro: Pledge your support to me as my younger brother. We'll make this world in our image.
Ferid: Whatever you say, let's do it.
Fbro: What the hell are you reading, by the way?
Ferid: Ohhh, this?
Ferid: It's about the concept of reincarnation, I guess.
Fbro: Is about what??
Ferid: Yeah, being reborn. It's about like, what humans are born for and what there is for us after we die. This book's answer is a cycle of death and rebirth.
Fbro: I don't get it
Ferid: Well, according to this text, everything in the world just goes round and round, and that includes our souls. We just endlessly repeat life and death.
Ferid Narration: To come right back to life in the exact same monotonous fucking world.
Fbro: I didn't think there was anything after death. That's why people are always interrogating how you live and how you die.
Ferid: I'll be glad if you're right
Fbro: You will???
Fbro: Oh, I get it now...you're trying to figure out where our parents went after they died, that's what you want to know?
Ferid Narration: Said as if it wasn't me who killed them~
Fbro: You're a good kid, you've got our mother's kindness.
Fbro: Why....
Ferid: Why what?
Fbro: You....betrayed me....
Ferid: I don't even know you
Ferid: So? How is it? You get reincarnated yet?
Ferid: See it'd really be a problem for me if I were reborn. Ending up in the same tedium again even if I manage to die, I really can't have that happening. It's so fearsome, I've gotta think my own death out real well.
Servant: Your Majesty! Your Majesty.....
Servant: WH...Ferid-sama!? HOW COULD YOU???
Ferid: Oh, hey! My brother's personal cabinet, I've got something to ask you actually.
Servant: DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS COUNTRY NOW!?
Ferid: Just listen.
Ferid: The author of this text on reincarnation, I wanna invade the far off country where they live.
Servant: What are you-
Ferid: I said shut up already, you don't have anything to worry about anyways
Ferid: The political trouble we've been having just ended, you'll all join up with the entourage around. If anyone causes you problems, you can just kill them. Be as unreasonable as you want
Servant: I....wait-...
Ferid: The most important thing is that I nip this reincarnation deal in the bud. I don't ever wanna see this stupid fucking world or anywhere like it ever again, I'll make sure that everything is....
Crowley: So, what are you looking at this time? Ferid-kun?
Ferid: Hmm....
Ferid: I'm figuring out next in line
Crowley: Next in line for what?
Ferid: Next in line for the end.
Ferid: Hey so Crowley-kun, how many years has it been since we met again?
Crowley: That's rather sudden, I'd have to think. If I even remember. It's been a long, LONG while.
Ferid: Oh yeah? We've lived quite a long time. You too stupid to keep track of it all?
Crowley: What the fuck, man? It's your fault I'm even a vampire in case you forgot.
Ferid: Was that me?
Crowley: Yeah, it was.
Ferid: Wow, I see! Well, you said you wanted to live longer no matter what so I...
Crowley: I did not ask for this.
Ferid: Why'd you end up as a vampire then?
Crowley: That's what I've been asking YOU, you literally forced me.
Ferid: I don't remember doing that
Crowley: Sure you don't.
Ferid: Really, I really don't!
Crowley: Are you kidding me? We've probably been together for a thousand years by now and I haven't gotten a single answer out of you.
Ferid: That's really sucky of me, I feel like a lot's happened between us in that millennia.
Crowley: Are you really implying you don't remember any of it?
Ferid: Do you?
Crowley: I mean, some of it at least.
Ferid: Are they good memories?
Crowley: ....you really don't know?
Ferid: Well, to tell you the honest truth...my special ability is that I've got an eidetic memory for every single thing, no matter how taxing to recall.
Crowley: Huh, first I'm hearing of it. Is that a lie too?
Ferid: Well, who can say for sure
Ferid: By the way...those two servants of yours, Chess and Horn. Do you remember when you last saw them?
Crowley: Would you have happened to kill them?
Ferid: ....
Crowley: And it's finally the day you'll kill me as well?
Ferid: ...
Crowley: Hold up, if this is seriously it then you spent the entire time from beginning to end without explaining a single thing.
Ferid: Well
Ferid: The time we spent together was unexpectedly fun, Crowley-kun.
Crowley: ...Ha haha. What the hell, that's all I get?
Ferid: You can fight back, I am stronger though.
Crowley: Ferid-kun
Ferid: Hm?
Crowley: This long journey with you
Ferid: Yeah?
Crowley: It wasn't that bad at all.
Ferid: That so, glad to hear it
Ferid: My 440th kill.
Ferid: Well then, let's make our way to the front, Crowley-kun. Right to the end oft he world.
Ferid, the prince shrouded in mystery, has finally entered the battlefield.
*Refer to the official for the chapter title I have no idea what they decided to make it but rondo isn't really a common word so I took some Artistic LiberitesTM and interpreted it as 輪舞 (dancing in a circle), bc it shares kanji with 輪廻 (samsara/reincarnation) which the chapter is about. Although I believe both these and the more basic definition you get just searching ロンド refer to the same thing, a type of music. I guess you dance 輪舞 to ロンド idk I'm not gonna pretend to have any formal knowledge abt that kind of thing skjsdk to that end, though, you may have noticed that my interpreted title is in reference to a certain song

hey jingfu president 😏 i was gonna claw through ur inbox eventually when i could form a coherent question abt this but ill just do it now while the iron’s hot
i plan on writing canon compliant jingfu but the timeline baffles me so much 😭 do you happen to have any notes on hand about when the quintet was formed, how long ago that was before jingfu met, when jingfu met, and what they’ve been through together in canon until well.. now (being post jingliu companion quest).
i want to have a sense of how much fu xuan would know abt his involvement with the quintet (hurt/comfort fan here).. given that he was general when jingfu already met i assume the group was formed WAY before that.. but when did they have their fallout? was fx there as master diviner when dan feng came back as dan heng? (i assume yes?) was she there when jing yuan had to defeat jingliu? (tears my hair out)
so sorry about this i will definitely do my own research but was just wondering if you had some/any info first!
hellooo!!! okay quick note before i start a lot of my info will be coming from my memory and checked using the wiki
before i get started with your questions: let’s have the dates we do know! (SC - Star Calendar)
Between 7280–7329 SC - HCQ established.
According to both Todd Riordan's Investigation of Ancient Pattern Rubbings from the Luofu and Jing Yuan’s Story 4, the HCQ lasted less than a century in total. (I put down 7329 as the latest because if it had been less than fifty, i think they would've said less than half a century instead of less than century.)
7379 SC - Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae & Dissolution of HCQ
7380 SC - Jing Yuan and Jingliu's fight in that one animated short
8072 SC - Jingfu joint war crime to end the Third Abundance War
8096 SC - Yanqing “rose to fame in a tournament and was conferred the rank of Cloud Knight Lieutenant”
8100 SC - (PRESENT) Trailblazer storyline begins
ok!! onto your questions:
1. when was the quintet formed? when did it fall?
so, actually. like i noted in the above dates, we really don't know when it was formed. however, we know when it ended—which coincides with the Sedition, at 7379 SC! working backwards from there, we’re told by a primary (jing yuan) and secondary source (todd riordan) that the HCQ lasted less than a century, so I put down a range between 7280–7329 SC. pick whatever year suits your fic best!!
2. how long ago was this before jingfu met? when did jingfu meet?
i am sad to say that this was likely a very long time before jingfu met, or even before fu xuan was born. in Oblation Obtained, Order Ordained, Fu Xuan says:
I was not born in the heroic and extraordinary era of the High-Cloud Quintet. To have seen those legends with my own eyes...
however, Fu Xuan's Story 4 (8072 SC) isn't necessarily the first time she meets the general (although it does seem like the first time she gets to talk to him directly, one on one). Story 3 talked about her leaving for the Luofu, and Story 4 picks up with the phrase “Centuries passed thus”, implying she spends at least more than one century in the Luofu before the Third Abundance War begins.
so strictly speaking: their first meeting is likely in 8072 SC, but you have a few centuries’ of leeway if you want to have them meet earlier!
3. what has jingfu been together for in canon?
unfortunately, after the third abundance war in 8072 SC, we aren't given much on the large-scale workings of the Luofu until the trailblazer arrives. we do, however, have tiny updates on the movements of the fanghu, yaoqing, yuque, zhuming! also, if you refer to the dates i gave you up there, fu xuan would have been around for yanqing's promotion to cloud knight lieutenant in 8096 SC :D
and of course, they were there for all the events of the trailblaze missions ! hehe
4. was fu xuan there as master diviner when dan feng was reborn as dan heng?
no :( i'm pretty sure dan feng's molting rebirth was enacted shortly after his imprisonment, and fu xuan has already said she wasn't born in that era
5. was fu xuan there when jing yuan had to defeat jingliu?
no, same reason as above :(
that's really it hsjshsj i wish hsr would release a history book with dates for everything :( it would make my life so much easier,,, anyways i hope this helped <3 good luck on the fic omg i can't wait to read it!!!!

hi okay i just followed u and i actually would love to hear if u have recs or thoughts on the other spectrum of lantern rings bc i saw ur one post abt the red lanterns and. tbh i do not know much abt them. or any of the colors really? but u also seem like u’ve read a lot of them and i do actually want to get back into reading comics so i figured i’d ask!
i am like… weirdly invested in the emotional spectrum & all the different lantern corps as a concept and have actually been wanting to make a sort of "intro" post to all of it for a while now, so thank you for finally giving me an excuse!
not really gonna get into any of my thoughts about any of it just because if i let myself start rambling, this will spiral into a 200k word long monstrosity and never actually get answered so! recs!
the good news is 99% of this was introduced in one big saga, so it's actually pretty straightforward & easy to get into. apart from the greens, the only two that were sortakinda introduced before the whole war of light era were the star sapphires & yellow lanterns, but they were both originally pretty different to how they are now
honestly, the older version of the yellow ring doesn't really matter all that much when it comes to the current version. i'm still gonna put a couple things where it shows up, but you could definitely pick up later comics without reading them and not be lost if you'd like to skip
on the other hand, i would suggest reading at least a little about the original star sapphire before jumping into the war of light era because it builds on & references back to the older comics quite a bit
Sinestro/Yellow rings:
Green Lantern (1960) #7, #9
Green Lantern (1990) #83 - 85 for the introduction of fatality
Green Lantern (1990) #131 - 136
Star Sapphire & the Zamarons:
Green Lantern (1960) #16, #26, #41, #73 - 74
Superman #261
Green Lantern (1960) #129
Green Lantern (1960) #178 - 190 is where the predator (which will come back later) is introduced, but the fact that the predator existed pre-blackest night isn't something you need to know to understand its later iteration. it's really only ever mentioned a couple times in passing, and to be honest, this whole arc is just... really not my favorite. you can absolutely skip if you find you're not having a good time with it
Green Lantern (1960) #191 - 192
Green Lantern (1990) #83 - 85, again, for fatality
Emerald Twilight (Green Lantern (1990) #48 - 50) is also really important to read if you want to be able to understand like... anything that happens later
less importantly, i'd also suggest checking out the original ion arc (Green Lantern (1990) #143 - 150). you won't be super lost or anything if you don't, but it'll provide a little context about wtf this ion thing everybody's talking about is
and LASTLY, black lanterns were a thing before Blackest Night. Blackest Night & Brightest Day and like 99% of what's here is pretty heavily based on Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #1 - 3 & its annuals. you don't have to read that before jumping into Blackest Night (i think i'd actually recommend waiting and coming back to it later), but if you're interested, it's definitely worth checking out!
and now, with all that out of the way, we can get into the johns/tomasi era & the actual point of this post lol
pretty much every single arc here is constantly jumping between about 3-4 different books, but instead of linking to a bunch of different reading lists, i'm just gonna put all the individual issues so everything's all in one place & hopefully easier to use as a reference, if anyone wants to do that... so this is going to be an obnoxiously long post! sorry about that!
ok! first and perhaps most controversially, Green Lantern: Rebirth. the dreaded parallax retcon, but it's kind of the foundation of all of this, so it's a must-read when it comes to the whole spectrum.
again, if you only read one thing from the older comics, let it be Emerald Twilight (Green Lantern (1990) #48 - 50) because Rebirth will really not make much sense without that context
next, i'd recommend jumping ahead a little and going ahead to read hal's origin (Green Lantern (2005) #29 - 35). you can wait and read it later if you want, of course, but it's just kinda shoved in the middle of a different arc later, and i really think it makes things flow a bit better if you just get to it up front instead
the first part of the green lantern & green lantern corps titles (Green Lantern (2005) #1 - 20 & Green Lantern Corps (2006) #1 - 13) don't have all that much to do with setting up the spectrum or the other corps, so if you're eager to just get straight to that, you can skip that
but if not and you want to read everything, be sure and check out Green Lantern Corps: Recharge, which is what sets up Green Lantern Corps (2006), before jumping into it!
Green Lantern (2005) #17 - 20 is the Mystery of the Star Sapphire arc that kicks everything off. from this point on, it's pretty much non-stop arcs spanning multiple books and more tie-ins than you've ever seen in your life
it's all very fun, but it is, quite frankly, annoying as hell to read. like i said, i'm gonna be listing it all out, but i'm gonna separate everything by arc and put the names of each because most of these have been collected into TPBs or omnibuses & if you can manage to track down that version, i'd HIGHLY recommend reading it that way to save yourself some frustration
Sinestro Corps War:
Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1
Green Lantern (2005) #21
Green Lantern Corps (2006) #14
Green Lantern (2005) #22
Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Parallax #1

Green Lantern (2005) #25
Tales of the Sinestro Corps: Ion #1
Green Lantern Corps (2006) #19
Green Lantern (2005) #26 - 28 and Green Lantern Corps (2006) #19 - 28 are the epilogue of the Sinestro Corps War, including the Ring Quest Arc, the introduction of the alpha lanterns, and the prologue to Rage of the Red Lanterns. also, if you want to read hal's revamped origin (Green Lantern (2005) #29 - 35) here instead, this is where it was originally placed
Rage of the Red Lanterns:
Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns
Green Lantern (2005) #36 - 38
Agent Orange & Tale of the Black Lantern:
Green Lantern (2005) #39 - 42
Green Lantern (2005) #43
Sins of the Star Sapphire & Emerald Eclipse:
Green Lantern Corps (2006) #29 - 32
Green Lantern Corps (2006) #33 - 38
BLACKEST NIGHT:
ok, this is the big one. pretty much everything that was running at the time of this event did a tie-in for it, and as such, there are a lot of issues in the full reading order that aren't super necessary to read, as all that really happens is you get to see which rings went to which characters
i'm gonna be putting the less important tie-ins in italics. you can skip them & come back later if you want
Blackest Night #0 - 1
Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps #1 - 3

there was a main Brightest Day book, but it's mostly just about the heroes resurrected in Blackest Night running around trying to figure out what to do now. you can read it if you want, of course, but it doesn't actually have much to do with the lantern corps, so we're ignoring it here

Red Lanterns #17
Green Lantern (2011) #18

Green Lantern: New Guardians #20
Red Lanterns #20
aaand this is unfortunately where things kinda start to go downhill imo--for the main green lantern book, especially. you can, of course, read everything if you want, but tbh Red Lanterns, Sinestro, and sometimes Green Lantern Corps were the only things i actually enjoyed reading & would really recommend from this point on, so i'm gonna be skipping a bit
Red Lanterns #21 - 23 is guy's red lantern coup d'etat arc, and Green Lantern Corps (2011) #21 - 23 is kinda build up to The Fatality Thing that comes in the Uprising arc, and then we get to Lights Out, which tbh i just straight up do not like, but we're gonna put it here anyway because it's important to a lot that comes later (unfortunately)
Lights Out:
Green Lantern: New Guardians #22 - 23
Green Lantern (2011) #24
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #24
Green Lantern: New Guardians #24
Red Lanterns #24
Green Lantern (2011) Annual #2
Uprising:
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #25 - 30 is kinda prologue to this, including some actually fun weirdness with von daggle & the more covert/espionage side of the glc
Green Lantern (2011) #31
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #31
Green Lantern (2011) #32
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #32
Green Lantern (2011) #33
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #33 - 34
Red Daughter of Krypton (one of my favorite arcs to come out of this whole thing <3):
Supergirl (2011) #26 - 29
Green Lantern (2011) #28
Red Lanterns #28 - 29
Supergirl (2011) #30
Red Lanterns #30
Supergirl (2011) #31
Red Lanterns #31 - 32
Supergirl (2011) #32 - 33
Red Lanterns #33, Annual #1, #34
the beginning of the long-running "sinestro trying to regain custody of his child" arc:
Sinestro #1 - 5
Godhead:
New Gods: Godhead #1
Green Lantern (2011) #35
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #35
Green Lantern: New Guardians #35
Red Lanterns #35
Sinestro #6
Green Lantern (2011) #36
Green Lantern Corps (2011) #36
Green Lantern: New Guardians #36
Red Lanterns #36
Sinestro #7
Green Lantern (2011) #37
Green Lantern Corps (Volume 3) #37
Green Lantern: New Guardians #37
Red Lanterns #37
Sinestro #8
Green Lantern Annual (2011) #3
Green Lantern Corps (2011), Green Lantern: New Guardians, and Red Lanterns all only had 3 issues left after this arc ended, and they're all... fine? i'd recommend reading them just because, y'know, why not? and then thaaat's pretty much it
after this, we're just left with the main title, which continues to be very meh imo, and Sinestro, which is actually pretty good. i'd say just stick with that, read Sinestro #9 - 23, and then join us all in Rebirth & hoping dc gets its shit together and actually does something interesting with all this again sometime soon

on the topic of chronology
in which i yell about timeline shenanigans and contemplate the nature of horology on the multiversal scale
something i often wonder when ruminating about all the places i've been and things i've experienced is what came first?
for several years, i had a pretty stable sense of my personal timeline. first i was at location A, then B, then C. nice, neat, and easily categorized - as i was never meant to be.
naturally, i started noticing paradoxes. "huh, this memory doesn't make sense if i was at A before B." "i know i was well acquainted with this person while i was at B, yet i feel like i only met them for the first time at C." ...and any other manner of conundrums you can imagine.
here are my working theories thus far:
i just have the order of events mixed up, or my memory is failing me. the easiest conclusion, but i love overthinking things.
"timeline bleed". the wires got crossed somewhere, allowing for the possibility of multiple contradictory events to occur at the same time, or in an unusual order. putting time on a spectrum, rather than a continuum.
divine multitudes. maybe i am not one coherent entity after all, but some sort of multi-faceted hivemind. everything may happen at once if there is enough of you to experience it.
a cycle of rebirths. it would be possible for memories i have from my "youth" to actually be newer than ones from later stages in my life if i were reborn every couple eras or so.
or...all of the above?
it feels like one of those things i'm not supposed to know the answer to, at least not in this life. still, it's interesting to think about.

spring has sprung.
this is the start of a new era for myself. i will introduce myself later on, but my name is chase and i am here and ready for a new direction of self discovery and growth.
i thought the spring would be a good time to start my journey. this is because of the season and that the theme of it is 'rebirth'. i feel as if that's what i had to do. i had to lose myself to find the same person again. we see it all the times with celebrities such as lady gaga and taylor swift. however, we see it as what is called "eras". however, i think we as people need to rebirth every so often to be able to our natural roots.
in the fall and winter months, we are seeing nature die, taking a break before blossoming back into bright, beautiful colors. during these times, friends are like leaves. some are going to stay while other's fall off, instead of raking them up and bringing them back, you're going to have to let them drop. keep the ones that stick to the branches of your tree ( aka you ). i feel as if that's what i had to do. i had to lose myself and some people around me to find the same person again.
as i start with this blog, i want to start talking about a bunch of different topics. we will explore how i deal with love, loss, and any topic in between. helping to be a spiritual guide and also for you. i can't wait to see what's in store for all of our journies!

welcome!
hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet!
my name is charlotte, and I have an art history masters degree and am currently applying to phd programs so I can become a professor!
this blog is dedicated to my love of both art and music, and I create edits of lyrics combined with artworks
the vast majority of my edits currently come from just hearing music or looking at an artwork and suddenly thinking it would be great for a particular edit. but I would love to take requests, so if you have any lyrics, songs, artworks, etc. that you would like to see in an edit, feel free to request it!
also, just as an fyi, this blog runs primarily on a queue simply because I would never remember and/or find the time to post otherwise. but I am on here almost every day, so feel free to send in an ask if you feel so inclined ☺️
below the cut I'm going to put my Spotify link as well as the art historical research projects I've done in the past, in case you're interested. if you find them intriguing, or if you have questions, just know that I'm always super happy to talk to anyone about art history (and/or music)! whether you're interested in going into art history, or just want to chat about art, or are just curious, I would love to hear from you!
otherwise, I hope you enjoy my little blog and find something that inspires you!
yours in art,
charlotte 💙
here is a link to my Spotify if you're interested
I'm pretty meticulous with creating a specific mood for each playlist, and every song I add is vetted thoroughly for lyrical, sonic, and thematic content to make sure it matches the overall vibe of the playlist

Okay but am I correct to say that Jason having ptsd/panic episodes related to his death is not fanon? Like that has been addressed in main canon comics at some point right?
So then the fanfic-y part of the today's wfa would be mostly bruce yeah?
Okay so like, kinda yeah? I think the Bruce bit was definitely one of the most fanfic-y parts, but I do also think the like... presentation of this sort of thing happening here with him ebbs closer to fanworks than canon, even if the basic idea itself has been seen in canon. If that makes sense?
By that what I mean is like... the main instance of something kinda like this that I can recall was in RHATO 2016 when he'd ended up at the same compound in Quarac where he'd been killed (obviously in the original version it was Ethiopia, and now post-Infinite Frontier that has been restored, but this was the location at the time during the Rebirth era). In this instance, being back there triggered him into hallucinating his younger self and then his death over and over, it was a whole big thing.

And there has been at least one instance in canon where the sound of 'metal on flesh and bone' specifically made him get a bit panicked because of what it reminded him of- the instance I'm thinking of being during Joker War with Duela getting beaten by Punchline. But that definitely wasn't anything this severe, it just made him rush into the scene more quickly, not actually have any sort of episode triggered.

(Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016) #48)
So to me like, this sort of thing happening, him having this sort of PTSD/panic episode relating back to his death as a general thing? I'm totally on board. But the thing that feels a bit... fanfic-y about it in WFA is the general framing of the situation (just his… behavior/reaction to it feels very drastically different to me, he goes a lot more scared in WFA when in canon he seems more angry or like… passively accepting? idk that’s a small nitpick) and then what it was brought on by- just the sound of metal scraping the floor.
Now obviously in a real life situation, triggers can be unpredictable and sometimes something you're normally fine with can set you off on a bad day- and your reactions to things aren’t always going to be the same. Like that’s how real life trauma works.
But it's just like, considering Jason himself has been using a crowbar as a weapon in main canon for years at this point and thus would hear that sort of sound probably a lot due to it- it just felt a bit jarring for that alone to be what set him off here. I mean hell, it’s been the discussion point of the day on my blog that he broke Tim’s nose with a crowbar in a comic literally yesterday- so the difference between that and this today is just… ya know. A tone shift that makes this feel a bit off.
But then yeah, Bruce coming to comfort him- hell, Jason having just been casually hanging out in the manor at all in the first place- that's also part of what makes it feel that way.
Now, the one thing I do wanna say is that like… WFA is a place that’s allowed to be fanfic-y. It’s a standalone family-centric webtoon, it is okay that this ends up feeling like that sometimes, it’s not like this episode is making me go ‘agh the whole thing’s worthless garbage >:|’ or anything like that. It’s just like… more of an observation rather than anything else, that yeah, this episode felt a bit heavier on the fanfic side.
