Ever since she was old enough to understand the difference between talking and humming and singing, she had been mesmerised. Frequently, she wondered if they just asked her to sing for them to make her feel better about the habit.

Whatever it was, it made her happy.

Abashed, she looked to the ground, hoping her voice came out sincere enough for him to not notice the blush of embarrassment coating her features. "Forgive me, my lord-"

His hazel eyes widened a fraction when she turned, her head lowering in apology, his head beginning to shake. Soft hints of his scent reached out, intertwining with the air around her in the dimly lit storage room, and Y/n pulled her hands behind her back, fumbling with the rag in her hands.

"Don’t- I apologise, I shouldn’t have eavesdropped. But your voice, it’s just… so beautiful."

Y/n ducked her head, feeling heat bloom in her cheeks. "Thank you, my lord."

He didn’t speak for a long while, making Y/n wonder if he had left. But when she lifted her head, he was still there, shifting in the doorway.

"I can leave if you wish, my lord-"

"Azriel."

Her brows furrowed. "I’m sorry?"

"My name. Call me Azriel." He straightened, clearing his throat as he lifted his gaze to the wall behind Y/n. "I was just passing by. I’m sorry for bothering you. I just had to tell you, your voice is beautiful. But I’m sure it doesn’t matter much, though, right? Everyone must tell you how lovely it is."

He paused, inhaling loudly before he stilled, and even in the barely lit room, Y/n could see his neck and ears darkening as he swallowed.

Y/n shifted, her chest tightening. "Thank you."

He nodded, glancing over his shoulder. "I’ll leave… you to it, then…?"

Azriel turned back to Y/n, his eyes searching hers. He did not want to leave. That much was clear. And something in her, something in her chest, didn’t want him to leave. She wanted him to stay, for whatever reasons. And it was concerning, this sudden need to be in this male’s presence.

Surely, it wasn’t normal to have a sort of primal urge to be in the vicinity of someone who she’d just met?

But, she nodded. And took a step back, conscious of the table behind her, unsure if words would be appropriate when she herself couldn’t think beyond the sudden need for his proximity.

And he didn’t say anything more, either. She watched him take a step back, out into the bright hallway, his eyes unmoving from her form.

"Y/n." She blurted out before biting her tongue, chastising herself. He probably couldn’t care less. She was, after all, a maid, and he, likely, a member of the future High Lord’s inner circle.

A small smile tilted the corner of his lips as he ducked his head in acknowledgement, and after a long, unending moment, his eyes moved down to his boots. his hands were behind his back, as if holding himself back from doing something, and turned, walking away from the storage room.

Leaving behind only his scent, the image of him standing there, with the same look on his face Y/n usually wore when her mother hummed.

unai is a very “take it slow” guy. taking a gap year taught him that he doesn’t have to rush into everything, so he’s a very roll with the way life takes you kind of dude.

He found himself countless times looking at rings everytime he walked in front of the jewelries Monaco, making screenshots on his phone of the ones he liked, picturing Violet with that ring on her finger.

But then the crash happened. He had to focus on her, on her recovery and making sure she was comfortable. And during that time with her, he came to the realization that he has to love the present and enjoy every second with her, enjoy life with her. But it made him realize, too, that he wanted to be next to her forever, now for real.

A year turned in two, two in three, and their love never stopped growing. They filled their house with souvenir of every places they visited, and their dogs were like their kids, always going with them to Lando's races.

It was a day he went out around Monaco with Max when he stopped right in front of the jewelry he always looked at. Max looked at him and smirked, nudging him and walking inside of the store. That day, he held Violet close to his chest, and while she was sleeping peacefully, he was staring at the ring inside elf the box, smiling widely.

He planned it, he kept the ring for months, and even if sometimes he decided to not wait and propose right in tbe moment, he waited for the day.

They went back to that city of snow, the city their favorite writer got inspired to write their favorite books. He thought it was perfect, Max and Pietra were with them, as well as their dogs.

"You know she will suspect if she find us recording, right?" Pietra sighed, looking at him.

"She won't" Lando nodded. "I have it planned, don't worry guys"

Lando had it pictured in his mind, he has been thinking and dreaming about this day since he bought the ring. When he's going to kneel, what words he's going to speak.

But it wasn't as easy as he thought.

His first attempt ended up with a fail. He wanted to go for a walk with the dogs and making sure that Max and Pietra were some meters away, with their phones in their hands making sure to record everything. But it ended with them screaming in a panic attack because one of their dogs decided to go explore to the wood. Thankfully they found the dog, covered in snow and the day ended with them cuddling the black dog in front of a fire and making sure he didn't freeze.

His second attempt was planned while they slept. It had to be something simple, no surprises. He has to make sure that their dogs are near, that the ring is in the box.

But at morning, when everything he wanted to do was cuddle her, he found Violet already in the living room making lunch for the day that was planned on the ski resort. So maybe that was the perfect moment to ask her.

He made sure he had the box with the ring in the inside pocket of his snow coat, sometimes having the need of patting his chest to make sure that the box was still there.

"Babe, you okay?" Violet asked worried, watching how he was always rubbing his chest. "Did something happen?"

"Oh? No, no! Why do you think that?" he frowned confused.

"Well..." she smiled looking him. "You can't stop touching your chest. Are you nervous because we're going to the red zone?"

"What?! Me?! My second name is danger" he scoffed, talking with a high pitched voice.

"Sure" she laughed, kissing his cheek.

Lando swallowed thickly and turned his head slightly to look at Max and Pietra, somehow panicking and moving his hand side to side under his chin.

"Abort plan, abort plan" he mouthed, making his friends chuckle.

He never thought that proposing to hercould be that hard without making her suspect.

He normally has a lot of patience, he had to get high levels of patience to love with two puppies and train them. But this? This is ending his patience levels.

The four of them spent the day skiing while their dogs were at a dog daycare place. And once they finished and got back with their dogs, Lando was too quiet on the way back to the house. And when they were finally there, he went immediately outside, grabbing his phone and texting Max.

Lando: Okay, this is the last chance. I'll stay out for a while, if she goes outside to talk with me, follow her.

Max: I never imagined proposing would be this hard...

Lando: Try it, then we'll talk 😩

Lando stayed out of the house, looking at the ring inside of the box. It doesn't have a big stone, in all his hers dating her he discovered that she doesn't like big jewelry. And the ring is the perfect definition of what she would wear everyday.

Rhysand and Feyre, their dogs, walked out of the house and stayed with him, cuddling him and trying to keep him warm, or trying to give him a reason to go back to the house.

"Hey, what are you doing outside? It's getting cold" Violet smiled, leaning on the door frame.

"Oh-" he wasn't ready. "C-can we talk?"

"There's something wrong?" she asked worried, walking towards him. "Lando, are you okay?"

"Well, I'm nervous" he sighed.

Violet started to panic. Nervous? Why would he be nervous? Is he going to break up with her?

"W-what?" she mumbled, swallowing thickly.

"I just wanted to do it before, but everytime I tried to talk with you, something happened" he said.

"Oh..."

She could feel her vision getting blurry, not noticing the confusion in Lando's face.

"Baby, why are you crying?" Lando asked, holding her hands.

"You are going to break up with me, it's that?"

"What? No!" he laughed, pulling her close to him. "No! I'm actually going to do another thing"

She didn't feel him kneeling in front of her, grabbing the box inside of his coat. But when she finally understood what was happening, he didn't even need to say a word before she threw herself into his arms.

"You gave me a heart attack!" she exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, baby" Lando chuckled, holding her.

"But... Yes" she whispered. "I will marry you, idiot"

very obsessed with the beginning and end (and what binds them together), i think about it and let my brain run around while i'm at work to get me thru the day hehe :3

i have a little concept w vash bouncing around in my head and wanted to share! i've been thinking about how during a situation in which his s/o (or future s/o, whichever) would be angry with him but not in a deeply troubling way- more like a tantrum from building frustration perhaps. frustration with him maybe. he stands there and let's them huff and squawk with this soft, understanding look that only seems to frustrate s/o more. he makes to coo at them and gather them up but they push at his chest because he's the one that brought this on. aw but he's sorry- won't you look at him? please? (he can't help but think they look especially pretty like this, emotions overflowing but in need of some gentleness. he may also be experiencing some cuteness aggression)

whether or not his s/o caves is up to the class but i think we all would (perhaps after some back and forth and a couple more pathetic pushes) and he would feel so vindicated but he will never ever admit it because he'd feel a little guilty. but only a little. i can't figure out how to sum up my thoughts on this behavior from him but it...good...

its the savior complex in him like he. lovessss the thought of you taking out your frustrations on him or being useful to you in this way. helping you...saving you............i think. it has the potential to turn him on a little JFKDLSF

UGH FAWKK tumblr did it again omgg, I swearrr they have it out for us cuz this literally ONLY happens with you 😭. Tbf I use the browser version and is probably worse than the mobile lowkey and why its so wonky sometimes, and I absolutely REFUSEE to do tumblr on my laptop it's probably the supreme way but I just can't do it I can't STANDD how it looks in there. BUT ANYWAYSSS, you're soooo welcomee and thank you! 💗💗💗 Seriously this means sooo much to me 🥹🥹 like omg, especially since you were the main one got me onto tumblr. I've always known about it obvi but I was mostly a surface level lurker for years (not counting the couple of accounts that I created over the years, used for like 5 minutes, and then abandoned lol), I think it was just something about tumblr intimated me maybe it was the ui or something idk 🤷🏾‍♀️. But you were literally the first person that I had EVER actually sent a request or anything to and made me give tumblr a chance. And I'm glad I did otherwise I wouldn't have been in such a small but kind and tightnit community with such amazing people, and even other fandoms big or small ☺️<333. Ive always wanted to participate and interact with other fans of shows/movies/etc but was always too scared and shy to do it. I either can't find any, their on some sketchy website, sold out, terrible conditions, missing disks, going 300+ for the full collection, or some other bullshit. And when I FINALLY found a few decent box sets for a slightly expensive but decent price EBAY WOULDN'T LET ME FUCKING BUY THEMM LIKE I CAN NEVER CATCH A DAMN BREAK)
