Popular and Unpopular Opinions for 911 Season 7 Finale - 🚒SPOILERS AHEAD!!
(Firstly, all opinions are mine no hate to any characters, blah blah blah let's get into it)
1. I think Bobby should have died.
Tumblr media
WHOA WHOA DONT KILL ME. I believe in character death when there is a purpose and a reason. And I think the reason would be for character development in mostly Athena and Buck. Athena because I feel like she's still a rough and sometimes unfair cop just as she was in season 1. I love her character as a strong black woman in power but that's what she's been for 6 seasons in a row, even when she became assaulted, or her family got hate crimed she went back to being the same person a season later.
And Buck because I feel like he's learned a lot from Bobby. But still, nobody trusts him to be in charge. He was passed over for interim captain twice regardless of his amazing growth. And as much as Bobby's death would hurt him it would grant him a chance to really stand up.
Tumblr media
2. I'm glad Chris left to be with his grandparents because Eddie was given a few too many chances.
In a post I made earlier I talked about how when someone is traumatized horribly knowing where they've been and what has happened help to explain their actions, but it does not defend all of them. Eddie is the perfect example because he has tried his hardest but, in the end, his mental health is not suitable for taking care of a child right now.
The fact that he's had multiple panic attacks, got involved in a fighting ring, cheated on his girlfriend, and let her stay in his house when she came dressed as Shannon and he poured his heart out to her, and his son saw? I can only imagine how much that would f*ck me up and I'm not even Christopher.
Tumblr media
I'm not saying Eddie doesn't deserve a chance and his parent's certainty aren't perfect, but they are stable and have a village (family) around them in Texas. At this point Eddie would benefit to recommitting himself to therapy before getting his son back full time. Because it would not only benefit him but his son as well.
3.Not enough build on Buck and Tommys Relationship
Let's be real Buck and Tommy had like 7 scenes in total in this season😭💀This is more knocking at the writers then the characters because I really wanted to see Buck enjoy his sexuality. Enjoy his new boyfriend and unfortunately, we didn't really get to see it. I don't know if that was a deliberate choice but even if we got more Tommy, I would be happier. Especially since Tommy became such good friends with Eddie it's almost like they dropped that friendship.
Maybe it's just me.
Tumblr media
4. Han and Maddie's Wedding.
I don't have much to say on this actually. I thought it was a great episode I just hated how rushed it was. I wish we had a whole episode just dedicated to their wedding like how we got in 911 lonestar for the Tarlos wedding.
They both deserve it they've been through so much.😭
Tumblr media
+5. I fear for Buddie.
Eddie is just not in the place for a romantic relationship right now. Even if he does discover himself through therapy, it would be too soon. Not to mention I don't want to sacrifice Tommy for Buddie it doesn't sit right with me. Especially since I love all three characters.
I just wish I knew if they were going to do Buddie and how they would even do it.
Tumblr media
Alternate suggestion: Polyamory?🤔😏
Okay I'm done,
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 💖

Daniel isn’t Real spoilers under the cut
I don’t really know what to think about the twist near the end of the movie. Like on one hand, I was really enjoying the psychological thriller part of it. But at the same time, I love that what was haunting Luke was in fact a demon, and not at all mental illness.
When I first started watching the movie and saw that his mom had schizophrenia, I was a bit worried about where this movie was going to go. Was this going to be another ‘my mental illness causes me to be violent’ trope? Was it going to demonize mental illness like all the rest of horror movies?
I’m so glad that it didn’t. It was pretty clear from the time Luke fell asleep at the party that what he was dealing with wasn’t schizophrenia. When he talks to his mom, it’s obvious that her mental illness is different.
But god, what a sad ending. I can’t imagine the guilt his mom must feel for not being able to help her son. As far as she knows, he was starting the same way she did, and he committed suicide. Cassie might feel guilt that she didn’t help Luke the day before when he showed up trying to explain what was going on. And Luke. who died to get rid of the demon. It was haunting to see that the Abyss was well and going to find another host.
Could this still be a metaphor for mental illness? Probably. But the movie does take care to 1. Emphasize that what Daniel is isn’t an effect of schizophrenia and 2. Show how the mom’s schizophrenia affected her (and how it was so different from Luke) and she wasn’t demonized for it. Whether she was a bad parent or not is up to opinion but the movie never shows her wanting to hurt Daniel or any one except herself. She was just trying to do her best while dealing with an untreated illness.
I think to conclude that this movie is saying ‘the only way to escape mental illness is by suicide’ means that someone wasn’t paying attention. I mean hell, they show Luke’s mom not trusting doctors or medicine and she hurts herself. Then they show her getting help, and she’s doing better. They give a great example that getting real treatment helped her.
I think I liked the twist of it. The movie really went ‘uhh actually mental illness doesn’t mean people will become murderers. That’s just due to the demon’

episode four: the sauna test
Steve pushes at Dustin’s feet to help him move further, but he’s quickly berated. “Not my feet, dumbass. Push my ass!” “What?” You and Steve exclaim at the same time.  “Touch my butt, I don’t care!” Dustin’s screeching voice is muffled from the walls of the vent. Looking at you one last time, Steve sighs heavily and places his hands on your brother’s butt and starts to shove him deeper into the air duct. He can’t believe he’s doing this right now, shoving the butt of the brother of the girl he’s in love with. You stand next to Robin, mortified of what you’re currently witnessing, endlessly ashamed of the two boys.
Summary: dustin has some brotherly concern for you (dont tell anyone though), steve is offended you dont think he can fight, nancy gets upset during therapy hour, robin encourages child endangerment, erica becomes your hero, and you lose your lunch on hawkins makeshift tower of terror (aka sketchy russian elevators)
Rating: general, swearing
Warnings: swearing, use of y/n, fem!reader
Words: 7.5k
Before you swing in: hello my loves ! had a busy may wrapping up finals, move out, and adjusting back to life at home. i finally had the time to write this, and while im still iffy with some parts, im just excited to finally be at the elevator scene tbh. ive been DYING to write her. enjoy !!
-
Dustin stands outside your room the next morning, fist hovering over the door, unsure if he should knock. It’s early and he can’t get the panic he saw in your eyes last night out of his head. He hasn’t seen you that consumed with anxiety since you guys were kids and your parents began to fight.
He feels horrible for putting you in that position last night, at odds with him, Robin, and Steve.
Especially Steve.
Dustin hadn’t meant to start a fight between you and the teen. Contrary to popular belief, he actually does want the two of you together, but now he’s worried he’s somehow caused a rift in your relationship.
Sighing, your brother allows his knuckles to rap against your door. When he doesn’t hear anything, he slowly opens it and pokes his head in. You’re asleep in your bed, blankets strewn everywhere, and Dustin knows he’s fucked up because you almost never sleep in this late.
Now he’s worried he’s going to have to force you into a code blue.
Dustin lets himself into your room and stands before your bed. Then, because he’s your brother and finds it hard to express his worries for you in a normal way, he pokes your cheek with his finger. “Wake up.”
You stir at the touch but remain asleep. Dustin groans and starts repeatedly poking you. “Dude, get up.” He now starts poking your nose, your forehead and eyebrows, anywhere his finger can reach.
Finally the onslaught of pokes to your face is enough to wake you up. You raise your hand and slap Dustin away as you scrunch your face in displeasure. “Why do you always insist on waking me up this way?”
“It’s fun for me.”
You slap at your brother again and take a moment to stretch. Your body is exhausted, you got home late last night after your drive with Jonathan. Once the two of you had been done discussing your relationship problems, you both decided to just drive around Hawkins and simmer in your limited time together. For those few hours, only the two of you existed.
Yawning, you blink your eyes open at Dustin. “Is there a reason you’re waking me up before my alarm is supposed to go off?”
Dustin’s smug smile falls. He coughs and starts to fidget with his fingers. “Oh, I was just–well. Last night… Do you wanna talk about it?”
The implications of your brother’s words cause you to fully wake up. “Is this your poor attempt at commencing a code blue?”
“Well, do we need a code blue?”
You roll over and throw your blankets over your head, blocking out the world. “I already talked about my feelings last night with Jonathan, please give me at least twenty-four hours to recover.”
Dustin flicks your ear that pokes out from under the blankets at the mention of Jonathan. “Why were you with that guy last night?”
“Stop touching my face!” You yell at the kid, annoyed. “And because he’s my best friend. We both had shitty nights so we drove around and cried together.”
Your brother pauses. “Did you actually cry together?”
“No,” you now uncover your face and sigh. “Only I cried, but it was therapeutic nonetheless.”
Dustin drops his head, remembering how upset you’d been standing in the hallway last night with the others. “I’m sorry about last night, Y/N.”
“Hey, no.” You sit up now and force him to look at you. “No apologizing. I understand.”
Your friends have all gone their separate ways this summer and I know you’re so fixated on the Russians because you’re lonely. I understand, and I’m here for you.
It goes unsaid, but Dustin knows that you have him all figured out, though it doesn’t ease the guilt he feels for dragging you into all of this in the first place. “You don’t have to join me at Scoops today, Y/N.”
“I know, but I will anyway after my shift.” I have to keep you safe.
“We both know you’re only going to make sure I don’t burn the place down.” You worry too much.
“Oh, don’t think I won’t call Steve once this conversation is done to make sure he keeps an eye on you.” I know, but it’s my job and I love you.
“You’re the worst.” I love you, too.
You ruffle Dustin’s hair with a fond smile. It’s an intricate thing, the hidden language that can only be found between siblings. All that goes unsaid becomes masked behind teasing and taunts, but you both hear what’s underneath.
When Dustin leaves your room to go to the mall, you roll over in bed and reach for the phone that rests on top of your desk. Your fingers press the numbers that have become ingrained within your brain from countless nights of dialing. The line rings only one time before Steve’s tired voice answers.
“Hello?”
You smile hearing his voice, despite the distance that seems to have now formed between you. “Hi, honey.”
There’s rustling on the other end of the line and you know Steve still lays in his own bed only ten minutes from your own. “Is everything okay?”
“Everything is fine,” you quickly reassure him, wincing when you realize you don’t normally call him so early. “Sorry, I was just calling to ask if you’d keep an eye on Dustin today? With the Russians and everything, I have work today and can’t be there–”
“Of course I’ll keep an eye on your brother, Y/N.” Steve gently interrupts your anxious rambling.
“Thank you,” you say softly with a laugh, embarrassed.
“Are we…” Steve hesitates, unsure how to find the right words. “Are we okay? I know things were–uh, weird. Last night. And that I was a dick and I just, I’m really sorry, Y/N. For everything.”
You close your eyes and exhale slowly, knowing that there’s more that Steve wants to say but is too afraid to tell you. Too ashamed to say that he’s embarrassed as well for allowing his pride to cloud his judgment, and you’re too exhausted to try and remind him again that you love him despite it all. “We’re okay, Steve. I promise.”
He takes a moment to respond, he doesn’t know what else to say. He’s never been good at this. Finally, he settles on what he’s able to give you. It seems that’s all he’s been able to do lately. “I’ll miss you today, angel.”
“I’ll miss you too, honey.” The name slips from your tongue in a languid manner, the warmth that accompanies the word still wraps itself around your body and reminds you of the love you feel for the boy. You hope he can feel the warmth too, you hope it descends down the landline and wraps around him as well. “I’ll see you after work.”
–
Your day only gets worse from there.
After only an hour or so of sadly sorting through books at work without a customer in sight, you hear a frail scream come from Mrs. Waters’ office. You run towards the woman in a heartbeat, panic stricken and afraid of what you’ll find.
Mrs. Waters is sitting tiredly in her office with her head in her hands when you run in. The usually upbeat woman is hunched over with despair and you’re quick to rush over to her with worry. “Mrs. Waters, is everything okay?”
She rubs at her temples and it’s then that you realize her telephone is in her hand. Without bothering to look, she clumsily places it back on the wall and looks up at you with sad, tired eyes. “I’m fine, dear. I–I just had a fright, that’s all.”
“What happened?” You pull a chair to sit next to the woman and grab her wrinkled, yet soft, hands.
“Oh, I’m old.” Mrs. Waters smiles at you sadly. There are tears in her eyes as she takes a deep breath to try and steady her nerves. “My, you would think I’d be used to phone calls from the hospital.”
“The hospital?”
Hearing the panic in your voice, your boss grabs the hands you have placed on top of her’s and squeezes with reassurance. “It wasn’t for me, dear.”
You’re still anxious for the woman in front of you. “Who then?”
“They called me for an old friend,” Mrs. Waters clutches at her chest with a certain fear that you’ve never seen within the woman. “She’s in the hospital because some young journalist found her eating fertilizer in her home last night. She’s always been… troubled.”
You gasp and pull away from your boss and your mind reels with this new information. Jonathan’s voice echoes within the walls of your mind, of his story of the woman he and Nancy had found last night after investigating the rats.
Mrs. Waters frowns at your unexpected reaction and notices the fear on your face. “Dear, I’m sure my friend will be alright–”
“What…” your voice shakes, and you clear your throat. “What’s your friend’s name, Mrs. Waters?”
The old woman sighs, sensing there’s something more to your worry, but her heart hurts for her friend and she’s seen more in her almost seventy years than she’s ever wanted to. “Her name is Doris Driscoll.”
You’re sent home early after your conversation with Mrs. Waters. She had been too worried for her friend and saw how shaken up by it you seemed to be as well, so she patted your arm and dismissed you.
“There’s no point keeping the store open today, Y/N. Go home to that cute boy of yours while I go visit an old friend.”
You had tried arguing with her, but even you knew it was no use.
Biking to Starcourt, now more than ever worried about your job, you feel your birthday looming over you and the worries of Nancy’s involvement with rats and old women eating fertilizer mixed with Jonathan’s fears.
This was supposed to be a good summer.
Your head spins as you walk into the backdoor of Scoops Ahoy, finding Robin, Steve, and Dustin all circled around the table as they discuss how to enter the Russian storage room.
“What? I sneak up behind, knock him out, and I take his keycard.” Steve is explaining when you walk in. He has his leg propped against the seat next to him as he twirls his sailor’s hat in his hand. “It’s easy.”
“Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?” Dustin blinks at the teen, having little faith in his confidence.
You make your way towards the group and lift Steve’s propped leg up so that you can sit before placing the leg across your lap. Feeling your touch, he looks up with surprise to see you, having expected your shift to end later in the day. “Y/N?”
“You’re not going near any Russian men with guns, Steve.” You say to him in lieu of a greeting.
Steve deflates in his seat. “That’s why I’d be sneaking.”
Dustin shares a look with you, the two of you remembering all the times Steve has tried, and failed, to win a fight. Clearing his throat, your brother crosses his arms and winks at you before turning to the teen. “Alright, please tell us this, and be honest. Have you ever actually… won a fight?”
Steve rolls his eyes. “Okay, that was one time–”
“Twice, honey.” You interrupt him with a smile, enjoying this conversation maybe a little too much. “Jonathan, remember him?”
“Listen, that doesn’t count.”
“Oh, but it does.” You pinch Steve’s shin. “He kicked your ass, I was there.”
He winces and moves his legs off of you. “He didn’t kick my ass–”
“You got a fat lip, crooked nose, swollen eye.” Dustin adds on, leaning against your chair now as the two of you gang up on Steve.
“He even pinned you at one point. I distinctly remember thinking he was going to kill you.” You say, smirking.
Steve scoffs. “Oh, you did not have any concern for me then–”
You hit his shoulder. “Yes I did! I’ve always been worried about you–”
“Can you guys not make everything about your weird relationship for like, three seconds, please?” Dustin whines as you and Steve start to bicker about something else entirely.
As the three of you argue, Robin seems to get an idea and runs out of the room. Noticing her sudden absence, you turn to Steve and frown. “What’s Robin up to?”
He stands up and sees her snatching money from the tip jar before running off. Steve calls after her, but she doesn’t slow down as she runs out of the shop. “What are you doing?”
“I need cash!” She says, as if that explains everything.
“Isn’t half of the tip money Steve’s?” You ask, now standing next to him by the register alongside Dustin.
“I’ll pay your boyfriend back later, Y/N.” Robin continues to walk towards the shop’s exit. “I’m going to find us a way into that room, a safe way, just like I promised you.”
You’re oddly touched that she remembered your insistence on keeping everyone safe. With a smile, you call across to her, “thank you!”
Robin blushes and forces herself to look away from you so that she can direct her attention to Steve. “In the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don’t get beat up. I’ll be back in a jiff!”
As you and Steve watch Robin leave, the two of you turn and catch Dustin licking at one of the ice cream scoops. You whack him with the back of your hand and cringe at him. “Dude, what the hell?”
Dustin flinches away from you as Steve snatches the scoop from the boy with his own disgusted look. “Not my scooper, man.”
“Why are you like this?” You ask your brother with disappointment in your voice, to which he huffs at.
“I’m a curious person.” You scoff at Dustin and he rolls his eyes at you before making his way out from behind the ice cream counter. “If I’m going to be judged, then I’m going to the arcade while we wait for whatever Robin has planned.”
He’s gone without another word, leaving you alone with Steve.
It’s still early in the day and there’s only a few customers in Scoops Ahoy, so it’s just you and Steve. It’s the first time you’ve been alone together since last night, when you’d been standing in front of him, begging him to listen to you, and all he could do was watch you silently with pain in his own eyes.
As if coming to this realization himself, Steve coughs and rocks back and forth awkwardly. He knows you told him this morning that everything was okay between you two, but things still feel off. Despite your best efforts, he can tell that you’re still struggling to seem okay with the whole Russian debacle. You’re still frail looking, unsure and anxious, and Steve hates that he’s the reason why.
Hesitantly, he reaches for your hand. “Care to, uh. Join me in the backroom?”
You raise your eyebrows at his question. “Are you propositioning me, Harrington?”
“No!” His eyes widen in fear and his voice squeaks, which only embarasses him more. He clears his throat and tries to swallow down his dread. “I mean, not like that. I figured we could, you know… talk.”
Now it’s your turn to fill with dread. He’s seen through you, despite your best efforts to try and appease everyone. Squeezing his hand, you nod at Steve and allow him to guide you into the backroom.
Steve pulls a chair out from the table and sits down, and before you can process what’s happening, he pulls you down and into his lap. You throw your arms around his neck to steady yourself at the sudden movement, which only makes Steve’s proud smile widen. “You planned that, didn’t you?”
“Sure did, angel.”
You laugh and shake your head at him, tightening your arms around his neck and settling into his lap. He rests his hands on your thighs and stares at you with such warmth, such patience, content to simply have you here with him. Despite the uncertainty that seems to now loom over the two of you, there’s still a certainty within it. There’s still a trust that accompanies the hesitancy, and it’s this trust that caresses your cheek and coaxes you to speak.
“I don’t like what we’re doing, Steve.” You confess to him, making your words as plain as possible so that nothing gets misconstrued; too often your words have gotten lost in translation.
Steve nods slightly, his eyes never leave yours, and he listens. “I get that, I do, and I’m sorry if I ever made you feel bad about standing your ground. It’s just… I wanted to go along with Dustin, pretend for a few days that I’m not some moron who couldn’t get into college, you know?”
“You’re not an idiot,” you fix a piece of Steve’s hair that has fallen out of his sailor’s hat and sigh. “But there’s more to this than just my stupid need to protect everyone.”
“Did something else happen?”
You hesitate, unsure if what’s been on your mind holds any real weight, or if you’re just being paranoid now after everything you’ve been through these last few years. Biting your lip, you decide that it’s Steve you’re telling this to. Paranoid or not, he’ll listen and try to help you piece it all together as well. He always does. “A few days ago I saw Billy stumbling on the side of the road. He was… bleeding.”
Steve’s eyes harden at the teen’s name and instinctively his grip on you tightens. “Did he do anything to you?”
“No,” you breathe out sharply, remembering how disoriented Billy had been. He was in no condition to cause you any harm, which in itself frightened you. “There was something off about him, Steve. I–I can’t explain it, but a day before I saw Billy, I had been with Will and he was almost similar to Billy, I guess? He just–he was frozen, staring off into space, until I got his attention again.”
“Why do I feel like there’s something else you’re not telling me?”
You sigh. “Because there is. There’s always something else in the fucking town.” Anger begins to rise within you and you force yourself to swallow it down. Now isn’t the time for the anger that always simmers just below the surface, waiting. “I talked to Jonathan last night. He’s been with Nancy investigating rabid rats and an old woman who was caught eating her fertilizer.”
“Christ,” Steve exhales with bewilderment.
“And now Russians in Hawkins? What are the odds of this all happening within the same week?”
“Do you…” Looking around, Steve lowers his voice. “Do you think it’s happening again?”
“I don’t think so, El told us she closed the gate, but… I can’t explain any of this, either.” You feel helpless, and you hate it. There’s something you’re missing, there’s something connecting it all, and yet you’re going in circles.
It all can’t just be a coincidence, and it’s a horrible, maddening feeling.
And Steve tries to absolve you from it. “We’ll figure it out, together. You and me, even if you want to kill me by the time we’re done, I promise you that I’ll help you–” The phone starts to ring, cutting Steve off, and he sighs. Patting your thighs, he silently asks you to get up so that he can answer it.
Lazily walking over to the ringing phone, Steve picks it up with slight annoyance. “Scoops Ahoy, this is Steve.” There’s a feminine voice on the other line, which he frowns at, before handing the phone to you. “It’s for you?”
Surprised, you stand up and take the phone, unsure who would be calling for you at the ice cream shop. “Hello?”
“Y/N, it’s me. Um, hi.”
“Nancy?”
“I–uh, I called your job and this older lady told me you’d be at Scoops Ahoy? I needed someone to talk to, and I–I just,” She clears her throat, and it’s only now that you notice the exhaustion in her voice and how thick it sounds from dried up tears. “You know what? This is weird, I shouldn’t have called. I’m sorry–”
“Hey, no.” You fumble with the telephone cord and desperately wish you were with Nancy right now. After what Jonathan told you last night, you feel horrible for the girl, and from the sound of it, she needs someone there for her right now. “Talk to me, Nance. What happened?”
You hear her inhale a shaky breath, always the first to try and disguise any upset and hurt she may be feeling for the sake of others. She takes another deep breath, exhales slowly, and then begins to talk. “Jonathan and I had a fight.”
She tells you everything, from Mrs. Driscoll and the rats to Tom firing them for falsely identifying as reporters. It’s everything Jonathan told you last night, all his worst fears come true, except Nancy also tells you what he told her this morning. How condescending he had been, how he had reminded her of how poor he is, how he belittled her need to figure everything out herself.
“He kept defending all those assholes, Y/N.” More tears lace within Nancy’s voice. “He wouldn’t listen to me. He just kept repeating over and over again about how he needed the job, as if it wasn’t the single more humiliating thing I’ve ever had to endure.”
There’s so much you want to say, but you’re afraid it will only come out wrong. “I can’t imagine what you had to go through, Nance. I know those men were horrible to you, but you understand where Jonathan is coming from, right?”
“I mean, I thought I did, but,” she sniffs, her voice is soft and defeated. “I’m not so sure anymore. It feels like we can’t understand each other, like we’re physically incapable of seeing eye to eye. I know he has to provide for his family, I–I love that he takes care of them, that he always does what’s right, and yet it infuriates me sometimes.”
You can’t help but chuckle at what Nancy has said. She sounds so much like Jonathan in this moment, reminiscent of him telling you that her ambition is what he loves about her, and here she is saying his integrity is what she loves about him. “God, you two and your pride; you sound just like Jonathan. He said practically the same thing about you last night–”
“Jonathan talked to you about this?” Nancy’s voice becomes cold, defensive, and you know you’ve just said the wrong thing.
“Well, I mean,” you frantically try to alleviate the situation. “He only wanted advice, that’s all.”
Nancy scoffs, and you feel your heart drop. “So he can tell you all about how he feels, but bottles it up when it comes to his girlfriend?”
Well, fuck.
“He was scared and overwhelmed.” You try to keep your voice neutral, not wanting the girl to assume you’re on anyone’s side. “It’s a difficult situation, and he came to me for help just like you are right now.”
Jealousy claws at Nancy suddenly, it clashes against the hurt within her. Jonathan went to you, as he’s always done, he sought solace in you for the emotions within him that he still has yet to share with her. It reminds her, then, just how little she knows about him still. How many years stretch between you and Nancy when it comes to Jonathan.
“I’m sure you know all about how he feels,” she says bitterly, unable to stop herself. “The two of you understand one another.”
You sense that there’s something important with what she’s just said. The words were said with a history behind them, an insecurity that you cannot compensate for, and you feel defenseless against Nancy. “He was hurt, and so are you–”
“God, I should’ve known you’d take his side! I mean, you two always do this. I’m such an idiot.”
Panic begins to surround you. “Nancy, I’m not taking anyone’s side, just please listen to me–”
The line goes dead as Nancy hangs up.
Numb, you place the phone back on the wall and stare blankly at it. The pressure of tears presses against your eyes and you try to steady your breathing. You’ve hurt Nancy, you’ve caused a rift between you that threatens to collapse into a chasm, and you don’t know what to do.
Steve sees that you’re fighting back tears and he tugs you against his chest. His embrace soothes you, but when he asks what happened, all you can do is shake your head, too overwhelmed to speak. There’s too much to explain, a history between you and Jonathan that you know Steve accepts, and yet now you’re terrified you’ll somehow hurt him like you’ve hurt Nancy.
“I’m sorry, angel.”
Neither of you are sure what Steve is apologizing for, but it’s enough for now.
So much for an easy summer.
–
“It is fascinating what twenty bucks will get you at the County Recorder’s Office.” Robin places a giant sheet of paper onto the table. On it are lines and shapes all drawn in blue with an intricate layout. You lean in close to inspect it as Robin continues explaining. “Starcourt Mall, the complete blueprints.”
Dustin praises her idea and you hesitantly agree; you would’ve never thought of asking for the mall’s blueprints. “You’ve got my attention.”
She smiles and starts to explain her plan. “This is us, Scoops,” her fingers trace over the paper as she guides you and the boys through the blueprint. “And this is where we want to get.”
“I don’t really see a way in.” Steve points out, now sitting at the table with an arm wrapped around you.
“There’s not,” Robin casts the top blueprint aside and reveals another one underneath. It’s similar in design, although this one lacks more shapes and is mostly lines. “If you’re talking exclusively about doors.”
You squint at the drawings, trying to figure out what they remind you of. “Are those…”
“Air ducts!” Dustin finishes for you, impressed with Robin’s idea.
“Safe, practical, and wouldn’t involve guns.” Turning to the girl, you nod at her and wink. “Buckley, you really keep your promises.”
Robin bows playfully. “Turns out, this secret room needs air just like any old room, and these air ducts,” she grabs a marker from the whiteboard and circles Scoops on the blueprints before drawing a winding line down to the hidden vault and circling it as well. “Lead all the way here.”
The four of you all look up at the vent above you, and while the idea seems like the safest option, you can’t help but wonder how horribly wrong it could go as well. You’ve never had the best luck, not when it comes to Hawkins, and the air ducts seem almost too easy of a solution to trust.
Steve finds a screwdriver in one of the shop’s drawers and takes apart the air vent with Dustin’s help. You stand next to Robin and watch with slight weariness, unsure where to go from here. Once Steve has removed the vent, he shines a flashlight inside and winces.
“I don’t know, guys. It’s a tight fit.”
“I can do it,” you step forward. “Can’t be that bad, right?”
Steve looks down at you from the ladder. “This feels like a trap.”
“Move, Harrington.” Once he’s off the ladder, you climb up yourself. When you look into the vent, your heart drops. It is a tight fit, there’s no way you’ll be able to crawl through it. Defeated, you climb down the ladder. “Well, shit.”
“I’ll fit.” Dustin now speaks up.
“No you will not.”
He rolls his eyes at you. “No collar bones, remember?”
“Excuse me?” Robin has never been more confused in her life.
Steve begins to explain Dustin’s medical condition while you continue arguing with your brother. “I’m not letting you do this!”
“You got the healthy genes while I got the rare genetic condition, Y/N.” Dustin starts to climb up the ladder as you tug at his shirt to try and stop him. “Let me abuse it!”
“But–”
Steve places a hand on your shoulder. “I’ll handle this, Y/N.”
You step back, hoping that he’ll talk some sense into your brother, but to your horror he only makes things worse. Dustin starts to climb into the vent with Steve below him, but he gets stuck about halfway in. “Steve, push me!”
The teen looks at you, unsure what the right call here is. “Do I…?”
“Yeah, just push the kid.” You rub your eyes, tired. “He’s already almost in the damn air duct anyways.”
Steve pushes at Dustin’s feet to help him move further, but he’s quickly berated. “Not my feet, dumbass. Push my ass!”
“What?” You and Steve exclaim at the same time.
The two boys argue, Dustin commanding Steve to push him harder as the teen tries his best to shove the kid, and Robin leans over to you. “Remind me, why are you into Harrington again?”
All you can do is sigh at her question, having no good answer as you watch Steve now manhandle Dustin and scream back insults at him.
They look ridiculous.
“Ahoy, sailors!” Someone rings the register’s bell impatiently. “All hands on deck!”
You and Robin turn to find Erica standing at the register as she repeatedly rings the bell and demands her daily free samples. You’re about to respond to her when you see Robin raise her eyebrows; it’s clear she’s thought of something.
“Would… Erica fit in the vent?”
Your hand snatches at Robin’s arm as you pull her away from the shop’s window. “Absolutely not. We’re not getting Erica involved!”
“C’mon, Y/N. She’s small, she could easily fit–”
“She’s ten.” She’s too young. You’ve always regretted that Dustin and the party were twelve when everything began.
You’ll be damned if you ruin another child’s life.
But Robin doesn’t know any of this, and she ignores you as she runs to the register and recruits Erica before you can stop her. Within a minute you have a very curious Erica Sinclair climbing the ladder up to the vent as she shines a flashlight through it.
You stand below her, helpless.
“Yeah, I don’t know.” She climbs down after a few minutes of studying the vent’s dimensions.
“You don’t know if you can fit?” Dustin asks.
Erica leans against the table and studies the four of you with distaste. “Oh, I can fit. I just don’t know if I want to.”
“Are you claustrophobic?” Robin teases her, but you only feel sympathy for the girl.
You step towards Erica, trying one last time to reason with her. “You don’t have to do this, you know. You can back down now, no one will blame you. In fact, I will give you all my allowance if you say no.”
Dustin elbows you roughly to get you to shut up, he knows what you’re trying to do. You glare at him and rub your now tender shoulder. When you look towards Steve and Robin for backup, both teens send you pleading glances similar to the ones from last night.
Once again, you’re the odd man out.
None of this is what you want.
“I don’t have phobias,” Erica informs Robin. Then, she turns to you, “and no one tells me what to do.”
Steve crosses his arms. “Okay, well. What’s the problem?”
“The problem is, I still haven’t heard what’s in this for Erica.”
Ten minutes later, you’re sitting in a booth with the others as Steve slides Erica a freshly made sundae.
“More fudge, please.” She requests, pleased she’s won.
Steve looks at you, already fed up with the kid, and you feel no sympathy for him. “Go on, get the girl her bribery fudge. This is what you wanted.”
He cringes at the sarcasm in your voice and knows you’re once again pissed at him. Defeated, he hangs his head low and leaves to get Erica more fudge without another word. Once he’s gone, Robin opens up her blueprints and shows the girl the air ducts. “You see this? This is the route you’re going to take.”
You sit there quietly as Dustin and Robin talk to Erica. After they’ve explained the entire plan, she mentions that this all sounds like child endangerment. You let out an exhausted chuckle. “It does, doesn’t it? Isn’t that just hilarious to think about?”
Robin tries to reassure both you and Erica. “We’ll be in radio contact with you the whole time–”
“Ah, ah, ah!” Erica waves a finger in Robin’s face, unamused. “Child. Endangerment.”
“It’s a shame only you can see that.” You drop your head onto the table, entirely over the situation. “I mean, how can only the ten year old see how insane this is, huh?”
Dustin throws a straw at you and shushes you, annoyed with your theatrics. Clearing his throat, he turns to Erica. “We think these Russians want to do harm to our country.”
“Unconfirmed, actually.” You retort. With every passing minute, it becomes more and more evident that this really is happening, and there’s no way you can back out now; someone sane has to be there to protect everyone. Dustin and the others all seem deluded by the idea of fame and adventure, but all you want to do is keep your loved ones safe.
“Shut up,” Dustin shoves you further away from him as he tries to win over Erica’s agreement. “Great harm. Don’t you love your country?”
“You can’t spell ‘America’ without ‘Erica’.” She takes a sip from her drink, now listening.
You lift your head up from the table and share a baffled look with Dustin, both of you going through how to spell America in your heads. Amazingly, Erica is right. You really can’t spell the word without her name.
“Incredible,” you whisper, in complete disbelief.
Dustin shakes his head. “Uh, yeah. Oddly, that’s–uh, totally true… So, don’t do this for us. Do it for your country. Do it for your fellow man, for America – Erica.”
After your brother’s speech, Erica puts down her drink and mocks him, still not entirely sold on the whole child endangerment idea. Instead, she goes on a whole spiel about how she loves capitalism and paying people for their services while you sit there, head pounding with a headache.
“And it seems to me,” Erica concludes with a smile, “my ability to fit into that little vent is very, very valuable to you all. So, you want my help? This USS Butterscotch better be the first of many. I’m talking free ice cream for life.”
Robin and Dustin mirror exasperated expressions on their faces, but honestly? You get a kick out of Erica recognizing her worth; she’s brilliant. Without saying anything, you lift your hand up for Erica to high five, which she happily accepts.
“To child endangerment!” You cheer, your voice oozing sarcasm, and Erica follows suit as Robin and Dustin both slump in their seats.
–
It’s your idea to prep Erica for whatever she may find after crawling through the ducts. You shoved a helmet on her head and forced knee pads onto the girl, which she adamantly protested against.
“This is excessive, even for you.”
You held up money, which promptly shut her up. “Wear the protection and do exactly as I say, or lose $5.”
After she took the money, you then held out your switchblade for her to take as well. “And use this if anything happens, alright?”
Erica had stared at you, slightly surprised. “Why do you carry knives on you?”
“Ask questions later.”
Now you’re anxiously waiting on the mall’s rooftop once more with Dustin, Steve, and Robin as you radio Erica for updates.
“You nerds in position or what?” Her voice drones through the walkie’s speaker.
“Yeah, we’re in position.” Robin confirms. The three of you have been scouting the shipment deck for the last thirty minutes, making sure all the possible Russian guards were gone. “It’s all quiet up here, so you’ve got the green light.”
You take the walkie from Robin. “But be careful, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. Be careful and green light, roger that. Commence Operation Child Endangerment.”
Robin snatches the walkie back and cringes at what Erica has said. “Can we maybe not call it that?”
“That's exactly what’s happening here.” You say with a snort.
“Thanks for the help, Y/N.”
You give Robin a thumbs up. “Anytime.”
Erica announces that she’s in the air ducts and you feel the familiar burden of fear creep through you as she now goes quiet. Steve’s hand finds yours and he attempts to ease your discomfort as you all wait. “Erica will be fine, Y/N.”
“Yeah, totally!” Robin tries to reassure you as well, though she looks nervous too.
The minutes drag by at an agonizingly slow pace. The three of you hold your breath, waiting for Erica’s assurance that she’s safe and okay, and you pray to whatever god that’s up there to listen and keep her safe.
If anything happens to her, it would only be your fault for not having learned your lesson sooner.
“Alright, nerds.” You let out a breath of relief when Erica radios again, and you can feel Steve exhale as well. He’d been worried, too. “I’m there.”
“Do you see anything?” Robin asks, voice alight with excitement now.
“Yeah, I see those boring boxes you’re so excited about.”
“Any guards?”
Erica pauses a moment, presumably scanning for any signs of danger, before responding. “Negative.”
You breathe out again with relief. At the very least, Erica is in a safe enough location.
However, Robin isn’t done asking questions yet. “Booby traps?”
“If I could see them, they’d be pretty shit traps, wouldn’t they?”
You grab the radio again from Robin. “Erica, have I told you that you’re my favorite child?”
“You haven’t, but I know I am,” there’s a bang over the other end of the walkie, then a loud thud followed by a grunt, before her voice comes through again. “I’m in.” Then, not even a minute later, the door to the vault begins to lift up, revealing a smug looking Erica on the other side.
You all stare at her in awe, and she snaps her fingers at you. “Free ice cream for life.”
Steve lets out a surprised laugh and a smile crosses your face as well. Even though you’re still entirely against what’s happening, you can’t believe that the plan worked. You guys successfully broke into a Russian vault.
That beats Demodogs any day.
You, Steve, Robin, and Dustin climb down from the roof to get to Erica as fast as you can. When you finally join her, you risk her fury and pull her into your arms for a hug. “You’re so much braver than I was at ten.”
Erica shoves you off of her. “That doesn’t at all surprise me.”
While you make sure she’s okay, Dustin and the others investigate the room. There’s boxes everywhere with tape all over them. Lifting one up onto a table, Steve turns to you. “Can I borrow that switchblade, Y/N?”
“She’s got it,” you point to Erica. “Talk to the kid.”
Steve frowns, having unexpected this, and, being scared of the girl, he laughs nervously. “Uh, Erica? Can I have that switchblade now?”
She rolls his eyes at him and digs through her pockets to retrieve it. “Aren’t you the man in the relationship? Why don’t you have your own pair of knives?”
You cover your mouth to try and stifle the laugh that escapes you, but it’s no use. Steve hears it and sticks his middle finger up at you before finally opening the box. Cutting through the tape, he opens the box’s flaps to find a metal storage container within them.
When Steve reaches his hand inside the box, you stop him. “Please, be careful.”
“I got this, angel.” However, he slows his movements and carefully grabs at the container’s handle. Slowly, he turns it, and it lets out a terrifying hiss as air escapes it. Removing the lid, more air comes crawling out and reveals four individual cylinders.
“Definitely not delicious noodles and sensible shoes.” You breathe out, and Steve hums in agreement.
“That’s a weird way of saying ‘you were right, Dustin’.” Your brother snarks, and you hit his shoulder to shut him up.
Meanwhile, Steve waves his hand at the four of you, motioning you to back up. “Uh, maybe you guys should, you know, stand back.”
Robin and Erica don’t hesitate to listen, but you and Dustin remain where you are. There’s a silent agreement between the two of you to not abandon Steve, he needs you. When he sees that you both haven’t listened, Steve pleads with you. “Just step back, please? I’m doing this for you guys, this could be dangerous.”
“No.” You and Dustin say at the same time.
Steve tries to argue again, but you remain firm in your stance. “I’m not leaving you. Ever.”
His words falter at the sincerity in your voice, and he wishes it was just the two of you alone right now so that he could stroke your cheek and kiss away your concerns. He’s filled with warmth by your care for him, but just like you would never put him in danger, Steve would never put you in any danger either.
He loves you with everything within him, he just wishes he could tell you this.
“If you die, I die.” Dustin proudly declares, breaking Steve out of his thoughts.
You stare at your brother, as does Steve, and together the two of you awkwardly pat the kid’s shoulder to acknowledge his sentiment. With a cough, you add, “Hendersons with Harrington.”
Steve clears his throat, overwhelmed and slightly off put by the bizarre support. “Okay, I guess.” He grabs at one of the cylinders and twists slowly, and when it unlocks, he lifts and reveals a bubbling green liquid. “What the hell?”
Robin asks what the substance is and you feel like you’ve lost your mind. You have no idea what the fuck is happening anymore. “God I hope it’s scary Kool-Aid”
As soon as the words have left your mouth, you feel rumbling beneath your feet.
Immediately, you know you’ve fucked up.
Dustin looks up at you in alarm. “Was that just me, or did the room move?”
“Booby traps,” Erica whispers, looking scared as well.
A mechanical whirring sound infiltrates your ears as the room starts to shake again, and every part of your body screams at you to run. Something is very, very wrong. Grabbing Dustin’s hand, you start to head towards the door. “We need to leave. Now.”
“Let’s go!” Robin follows you, not needing to be told twice, and grabs one of the vials of liquid as she does so.
“Which one is the button, Erica?” Dustin asks, fingers hovering over the control panel’s buttons after pressing one failed.
“Just press the damn button, nerd.”
You turn to her, panic rising. “He is, but nothing’s happening.”
“Press ‘open door’.”
Dustin presses the button again but still, nothing happens. Frantic to escape the room now, you shove him aside and try yourself. Your fingers press roughly against it, but still the doors won’t budge.
Steve joins, sliding next to you as he starts to try pressing the buttons. “Here, press the other button.”
You slap his hand. You’re overwhelmed and scared and anxious and he’s five seconds away from losing an eye. “I already did that!”
Dustin starts to argue with Steve now and they push you back, repeatedly hitting whatever they can touch, as Robin and Erica shout their own useless and unneeded advice that is helping absolutely no one. You stand behind the boys, hands pressed against your head as you start to hyperventilate with panic.
Then, walls come slamming down on all sides of the room, effectively kick starting your panic attack. The lights begin to flicker as the room suddenly drops. Your stomach lurches into your throat as you’re thrown downward, and instinctively you grab for Dustin in your panic as Steve grabs for you.
Everyone screams as you plunge into the darkness.

“i’m sorry”
“sorry isn’t going to cut it anymore, felix. you’ve said it so much i don’t think you mean it anymore.”, you bite back harshly.
you’re normally understanding of felix’s job. it regularly requires him to stay overtime and keeps him very busy, but he’s missed too many of your activities.
he missed ice skating, your birthday, at least ten dates, but now he’s missed your anniversary. two years that you’ve been together, yet it’s like you don’t even see the boy anymore.
“what…?”
“it’s always ‘sorry’. if you were really sorry, maybe you would’ve skipped dinner with the boys. you could’ve come home… to me…”, your voice falters at the last two words, cracking with raw emotion.
it’s not fair to you anymore, nor is it to him. he can’t leave group activities or basically anything work related, even when it’s an emergency. if no one’s in danger, then there’s no chance he can leave.
“don’t you ever want to see me…?”
his face contorts into an expression of disgust. not with you, but with himself. his tears finally drip over his lashline, eyes red and burning. the tears are continuous now, completely unable to stop.
“i do… i do want to see you… i miss you so much, y/n.”
you scoff, “don’t lie to me, felix.”
he opens his mouth to say something back, but only a squeak comes out. “do you still love me…?”
“i love you to the ends of the earth… i promise.”
“then why don’t you ever show it? i don’t even know if i believe you anymore.”
he clamps a hand over his mouth, not out of surprise, but to suppress his sobs. he continues hiccupping, but clutches his mouth harder, not wanting to make too much noise.
he tilts his head down slightly so you won’t be able to see the painful look on his face. he tries to pull through, knowing that your pain must be much worse than this.
the sight breaks your heart.
“take your hand off your mouth. you won’t be able to breathe”
he complies, quickly wiping his tears and taking long breaths. “please- please believe m-me. i really do love you. i’m so sorry.”
he says it again, and you look into his eyes. you can see the pain in there, causing your heart to crack even more. you know he’s dealing with a lot right now, but so are you.
and now you need space. time to think about yourself, and time to think about if this relationship is really worth it anymore.
“i swear, i mean it, y/n.”
“you’re the one ruining this. this isn’t fair at all, felix. i love you, but i don’t think you love me the same way i love you. you’re not making an effort in anything. i don’t know if this is going to work anymore if it stays like this.”
silence.
“i need space.”
“i can give you that.”
“i don’t think this relationship is good for either one of us right now. ill come back when im ready.”
he nods in understanding, but his eyes are blown wide. the second you leave the room, he starts sobbing again.
no, not sobbing. wailing.
there’s nothing else he can do. this truly might be the end of what he hoped would be forever.
he hurt you. he hurt you and that hurts him. your pain is his pain, but he knows you have it worse. if anything, he deserves this pain. you’ve had to bear this pain for months.
it’s his fault, he knows it. everything’s falling apart because of him, like it always does. everything’s ruined. it will end like it always does.
just felix, alone.
someone else will come along, and he’ll break them too. it’s happened time and time again, and he’s finally given up.
it’s you he wants to spend the rest of his life with. it has to be you. no one else has made him feel this way, not once.
what’s worse is that you’re truly considering breaking up. ending it all because of another stupid thing felix did.
and for this, he will never forgive himself.
he’s still crying, just as loud as before, but now snuggled up into the couch. it smells like you, he realizes. maybe that’s why he’s getting so emotional.
he plays with the promise ring on his finger, crying even more now. maybe he won’t need it anymore after this.
you start packing, taking a good amount of clothes and stuffing them in your suitcase. you’ll have enough space for everything, you’re sure.
you grab one of your favorite sweaters from the closet, it has an adorable baby chick embroidered onto it. you stare at it again, but then put it back. it reminds you too much of him.
you make your way to the bathroom, placing your hand on the counter while you open the drawers to check for any jewelry, when you hear a clink.
you place your hand down on the marble again.
clink.
you look down at your ring finger, a singular tear leaving your eye. you remember when felix got down on one knee on your one year anniversary. it was too early for a proposal, so you freaked out, but he calmed you down and opened the box.
a promise ring. a simple band to symbolize eternity. an eternity you believed you’d spend with felix. you’re scared that eternity doesn’t exist anymore, as much as you want it to.
you don’t know if he cares. if he cares about what you have. if he cares about you.
you remove the band from your finger, shaky hands placing it down onto the counter. you observe the thin tan line it’s made, has it truly been that long?
when did everything change…?
you look for the box that felix gave it to you in. you’ve never taken it off since you got it.
you check in your jewelry drawer, but it’s not there. so you check in his.
there it is. a navy blue box with gold accents on the edges. you smile sadly, crying a little more when you truly think about your circumstances.
you grab the ring from the countertop and flip open the box.
your heart stops.
it’s supposed to be empty.
why isn’t it empty?
there’s a gorgeous gold band on the inside, small peonies engraved into it. your favorite flower, you realize. additionally, there’s a perfect heart shaped diamond sitting on top, almost taunting you.
the heart was meant to symbolize your love. the love you have for eachother. the love he has for you. but felix has never been able to show that properly, not while under his circumstances.
is this the surprise he mentioned the week before? is this why he told you to dress nicely to dinner? is this why he told you to do your nails all nice?
it had to be, right?
you close the box and hold it tightly in your hand, trying your best to suppress the tears that are trying desperately to escape.
but your heart controls you more than your mind.
its almost as if your heart actually has a mind of its own, bringing you to where you are now. standing in the living room, watching the sobs rack felix’s body, velvet box still in hand.
his body jerks with each hiccup, the noise completely muffled by his hand. it’s then you realize that it’s not muffled, he’s suffocating himself.
you place the box down onto the table, rushing over to felix. you grab his shoulder, pushing him over and sitting him upright. he jerks when you touch him, not expecting you to be anywhere near him.
once he truly processes the sight of you, he cries even more. you pry his hand off of his face again, you know it’s a bad habit.
“felix. you won’t be able to breathe when you do that.”
“im sorry. i didn’t w-want you to- to hear m-me”
“deep breaths.”
he inhales deeply, trying his best to follow your breathing patterns, but it fails every time, broken up into small hiccups. “i c-can’t.”
“calm down…”
you give him a small smile, almost to reassure him. he tries again, but it doesn’t work. he shuts his eyes, unable to take it all, and the tears just continue to spill.
“i- i can’t… i can’t breathe”
you rub circles onto his back, trying your best to do breathing exercises with him. you forget how truly sensitive he is.
“i’m right here…”
“you’re r-right here.”
“mhm… i’m right here, felix.”
“you’re right here… w-why are you here?”
you tilt your head in confusion, wiping a single cascading tear away from his cheek. “i’m here to take care of you.”
“you- i… i don’t deserve it…”
“what?”
“i don’t deserve you. you can- you can leave. i’m not forcing you to stay…”
your heart is now barely holding on, and it feels like only a single thread is holding it together.
“i’m here because i want to help you, lix.”
“you don’t- no- you don’t need to help me… it’s my fault.”
you open your mouth to speak, but he cuts you off.
“it’s my fault… i’m sorry.”
“felix…”
“you’ll leave…”
what’s going on with him?
“they all leave… n-not you too…”
“felix.”
“i don’t want you to leave… it’s all my fault.”
“felix, please, calm—“
“you’re going to leave…”
“i’m not going to leave.”
“i ruined it…”
it’s almost as if he’s stuck in the same state of mind, every part of the world being blocked out except for the terrible thoughts swirling around in there.
you cup his cheek with your hand, guiding his gaze towards you. one single look into your eyes, and he’s sobbing again.
you place your left hand on his knee, you know how much he loves to feel you, but he only seems to cry more.
he tentatively brings a hand up to the one splayed out in his knee, and you watch him out of curiosity. he giggles, and you look back up.
he’s crying even more now, you don’t even know how that’s possible. he picks up your hand by your ring finger, staring at the tan line that your promise ring created.
“i ruined it. how could i ever let you go…?”
he runs his thumb over it, and he quickly pulls your hand closer to his face. he places a soft kiss onto the line, just once, as to finally seal his fate.
it will never happen. he must accept it.
you don’t let go, instead intertwining your fingers. “i thought about it for a little. i really don’t want to leave you felix. i just… i didn’t know if you loved me anymore.”
“i do… i do love you.”
“i know that now.”
“you don’t know the full extent to which i do, y/n. i don’t just love you for what you have to offer. i love you for you. i love you for your smile, and i love you for waking up everyday. i love you for working hard, and i love you for your heart. i love you for things i can’t even see, and i love every part that makes you you. i love y/n. i love you. and i love you for being you.”
it feels as if the tears in your heart have finally been stitched up. every crack in your heart healed with his pure words. you know they came from the heart too.
“i can’t guarantee i’ll be there for every event, and im sorry for that. ive tried to change that, but the rules are strict. even then, i wont give up. i’ll try my best to change them, i want to be the best boyfriend i can be. i dont want to rush dates because im running out of time, but instead because i cant wait to get home and finally cuddle with you without being in the public eye. i dont want to be late to any events just so that i can see that beautiful smile on your face when you see me there. i just want to make you happy, happier than you’ve been recently.”
“oh felix…”
he doesn’t say anything else, placing your hand back down on his knee and retracting his hand. that’s when his gaze flies to the table in front of him, the dark blue velvet box staring right at him.
he stands up, grabs it, and then kneels back down, on not one, but both knees. it looks almost as if he’s begging, but what you don’t realize, is that he truly is. he’s begging for your forgiveness, and he’s begging for another chance.
he has to make things right.
“y/n… i know i haven’t been the best boyfriend recently, not at all, but i want to make things right. you’ve brought so much light into my world, and i want to bring you that light too. i just need you to give me one last chance. one chance to make it right. i know it’s not the perfect proposal, but please, make me the happiest man in the world.”
he flicks open the box, displaying the band you last observed in the bathroom.
“i love you.”
“that’s not a yes or a no.”
“yes, i love you.”, you repeat.
you can’t control your heart anymore, and you take the chance to push felix down to kiss him. you know it’s not the ideal proposal, nor is it the ideal post-proposal kiss, but your answer would always be yes.
“it’s you, felix. it’s always been you.”
“y/n.”
“hm?”
“i promise, i’ll never let you go again.”

Could u write one for clarisse where she's impressed with femR bc of how good she is at fighting and all and clarisse finds her incredibly attractive bc no one has challenged her the way R does?
And like a bit of pining until the two confess
Thank you!!
Breathtaking or taken
Tumblr media
Clarisse la rue x fem!reader
Summary: when Clarisse finds a opponent worth of her, she is breathtaken.
Warnings: none really, just fluff, not a descriptive fight scene on sight cause mama dont know how to write that, so just fluff fluff, and mutual pining fluff
(Do i need to say its not proofread? No? Thank you)
Here is one of the main benefits of being a daughter of Athena, you'll know.
DIfferent from other gods, Athena will let your parent know it is her who they are talking to.
And if letting them know beforehand isnt enough, she will let them know when the baby is brought to them, and if your parent is smart enough to live up to her choice, you'll have time to learn a thing or two before being thrown into this world.
If your parent cares enough about you, you'll have time.
And sure as hell my mom cared.
Always the intelectual woman, historian, researcher, writter, my mom knew many things about ancient greece, she knew all the stories by heart, and she, of all people, knew what she needed to do, to preserve her only daughter, her sacred gift.
She teached me all i needed to learn without compromising myself, stories, languages, art...and fight.
Little girls my age were doing dance classes, were trying to be good enough for drama club, were playing tea party with their dolls or making a mess with their mom's make up.
Well...i.. i was doing martial arts, i was fencing, i had my face in a book every free time i got.
I always asked her about it, why was she so strict about never missing a fight leasson, her answer always made sense, there and now.
"The world is cruel, especially for little girls, someday i might not be all the time with you, someday, you'll fight your own battles, you need to be ready"
Every word, every single word is true.
And that is how i ended up here, in a arena of camp half blood, sparring with Clarisse, and winnig, by two points, yes, but winning.
It is clear nobody expected that from me, neither did she actually, i can see in her eyes.
Understandable, they expect Athena kids to be calm, find a solution, not fight her way out.
Honestly their looks dont bother me, i dont even think much of it, but Clarisse's looks, they got something more to them, like a kid who finally got the dog she really wanted.
"Aaand break time Clarrise, we'll continue this tomorrow, id like to enjoy the rest of my afternoon thank you"
I dropped the sword down and started to undo my armor while walking close to the exit.
"Wait wait wait, now? Already? C'mon i didnt even had time to figure out how do you do that... all of that"
She stood next to me, still holding her sword and honestly.. she was beautiful, yes she was sweaty now and yes she was mean to everyone but.. now...right now, she was beautiful, shining, in her element really, flushed cheeks and a smile she only had when with a sword in hand.
"I practice, ever since i was a kid, everyday, well expect in weekends but yeah, almost everyday... how do you do all that? You are good...-want some water?"
I offered her my bottle also motioning for her to walk with me, both wich she gladly accepted.
"I practice too...and i never said this to anyone but, you are good, great even, and look breathtaking"
We stop walking, we stop all actually.
"I look what, Clarisse?"
"Breathtaken- you look out of breath, do you want the water back?"
Ah.
Weeks later i found myself in the same scenario, sparring with Clarisse again, actually that is all i do when it comes to training, be with Clarisse
"C'mon curls, thats the best you've got? No need to go easy on me"
"Im not going easy, i already told you, you caught me distracted thats all- GIRL WIll YOU SUSH?"
She tried to block you with her sword, thankfully for her, a succeded attempt.
"How could i? You're so fun to mess with, gets all red n all"
"Oh you want to talk about getting red?"
In a moment i was on the floor, Clarisse on top of me, and i couldnt speak, all i could do was stare into her big brown eyes, who looked right into my soul.
"Cant speak anymore huh? Oh if you could see the red im seeing-"
Now this my ladies and gentlemen, this is what i call a shot of faith.
I raised my head a little and just..i kissed her, it was quick but I did it, and her face went blank.
"Now you are breathtaken Curls, how about that?"
"And you are still breathtaking"
Still?
Oh
Oh.
"You...like me Clarisse?"
"You didnt knew?"
Oh.
"....no..?"
"Would you walk away if i kissed you this time?"
"....no."

hii! can you do where gf!ethan and reader are dating, and he tells Bailey & Quinn to not hurt you but during the reveal bailey/quinn actually kill you and ethan goes feral on them
Unable to save you
Tumblr media
summary | ethan loses the thing that is most important to him, you, and he loses it.
a/n | changed it up a little i hope you dont mind, enjoy !
warnings | murder, angst, im not good at writing fight scenes, not proofread
“leave her out of this, i dont want her to be hurt.”
quinn rolled her eyes at her brother, “stop being a little crybaby ethan.”
“enough you two.” wayne interrupted the two of them giving ethan especially a pointed look, “theres no time for this nonsense.”
Ethan grows more irritated and rolls his eyes turning away from the two of the with an annoyed look.
The original plan was just for ethan to infiltrate the friend group and get them to trust him but then he had met you.
You were anika’s friend and when anika and mindy got together you had ended up joining the group as well. he could tell you had a crush on him and wayne had told him to get with you to make his spot more secure and he did.
what he hadn't expected was for you to charm him, to make him fall in love with you, you were always so sweet and kind to him. you had payed for his coffee when he forgot his wallet, you had even helped him make his haloween costume for the party you guys had went to not even two nights ago.
Ethan had grown attached to you and he was now attempting to convince his family that there was no point in attacking you.
he left the meeting with a sour taste in his mouth.
You watch in horror as the boy youve grown to love stands in front of you with a ghostface mask in hand. This cant be happening, not your sweet boyfriend ethan. You barely register quinn also taking off her mask until shes making her way over to you, “i want her.”
“quinn i told you not to hurt her-”
“shes one of them!”
quinn points her knife towards tara and sam while ethan glares at her, his grip on his knife growing tighter at the fear on your face.
“enough quinn.”
Before he can ever take a step forward quinns knife quickly drags along your throat and she drops your body to the drop.
“no!” ethans screams and rushes over to you leaning over you, “please please….” he tries covering the wound with his hands as if that will help, “please baby stay with me please.” He feels his whole body begins to shake as his eyes well up with tears, “please stay with me…..”
Your wide, tear filled eyes are shaking. He hates this, he continues to mumble and press his hand's tighter to your neck but with the last of your strength you grab his arm and squeeze it.
You had always squeezed his arm, it was your little code when you were out in public to tell him you loved him.
He lets out another loud sob once your hand drops and the light leaves your eyes. His head drops to yours, resting his forehead on yours.
Quinn watches his quivering body with annoyance, “oh god youre such a crybaby, how many times do i need to tell you shes one of them!”
Ethan finally stands, his body perfectly still, he stands tall, his back still turned away from quinn, “what are you finally done, you know we got two more people to-”
Ethan tackles quinn swiftly, “ethan!” wayne shoust but ethan ignores him and stabs her over and over again, “you bitch!”
“ethan!” wayne runs over and rips his son away from quinns bleeding out body.
“what the hell are you doing?!?”
wayne slams ethan on the chest and rushes over to quinn who has at least twenty stabs wounds all over her body.
ethan watched with annoyance as wayne fuses over quinn, “she killed her!-”
“so what! you dont just go and kill your own sister!”
Ethans chest falls and rises quickly as he glares at his father, “so what?”
Tara, sam and kirby watch in what can only be confusion as ethan and wayne fight. “arent they supposed to be killing us?”
Ethan holds his own but wayne is crazy leaving ethan severely wounded. Ethan gets lucky and manages to kill his father while being on the verge of death himself, the only thing keeping him standing with the image of your dying face.
He barely manages to pull himself back towards you, he falls to his knees and lays on top of you.
“im sorry.”
His life fades from him, he can only hope wherever hes going afterwards you'll be waiting there for him.

Tumblr media
Summary: The reader has been living with diabetes her whole life. She's grown quite accustomed to it and manages it well with the help of her supportive family. Although sometimes, support can feel a little suffocating...
Through your 14 years of existence, you have grown quite accustomed to life with type 1 diabetes. As you grew up and became more conscious of what it meant to live with a chronic disease, you learned to accept and care for yourself quite well.
Your mother, Sarah, was a real trooper and never let you down, always carrying you when you felt exhausted and done with your condition, which did happen more often than you care to admit. Luckily, you also had someone else in your corner: your older brother.
Nick is known to be quite protective. Especially with the people he cares for. However, that aspect of his personality gained a new high when you were born, and your mother explained why you could never do everything just as he did. Of course, you would still be able to do most of them. You would simply need to be a little more careful.
Sarah remembers very clearly the look in little Nick’s eyes when she explained why you were always sick. You were resting in bed after a substantial flare-up when his eyes welled up with tears. That's when he finally understood that there was something in your own body that would always try to fight and hurt itself. That’s also when he promised himself he would do everything to protect you. Your mum still tells that story with a few tears welling up in her eyes.
Nick knew you could have a lot of complications from your disease. To avoid them, he always made sure you had everything you needed at all times. You usually didn't mind, seeing how your ADHD sometimes made it a little harder for you to remember to pack your stuff. Plus, the fatigue diabetes often fogged you with did not help in that department.
The thing is you were now 14 years old, finally starting to make new friends and explore the jungle that is social life in high school. So when your 16-year-old brother comes over, and all your lady friends swoon over him, or worse, when he comes over to baby you, it gets a little irritating. Luckily, Nick was quite stubborn about that stuff and was not about to let you get hurt just because of the image you wanted to project.
That was until you made quite a scene in front of everyone.
You had been feeling particularly irritated and moody that day. So when you saw your brother walk over to you with a backup diabetes kit, which was his creation, you felt anger boil in your blood.
It did not help to hear some nasty year 10 make jokes from a picnic table near your friends and you. "Oh, would you look at that? Diabetes Nelson still needs her big brother to bring her her little drugs. I don't understand how someone like him could be related to her."
It was stupid. It wasn't even a good insult. Plus, the people who kept making comments were not something to be impressed with. Still, you couldn't help the shame from creeping on your cheeks.
So this time, when your big brother came to check on you and offered you your safety pouch, you refused.
"I already have the normal one. I don't need this one."
"I know, but I don't think you've put the new insulin shots in. I brought you the safety one just in case."
The snickers you heard from the people behind had you gritting your teeth. You couldn't understand their exact words, but you knew it wasn't positive.
"Don't you have anything better to do than watch over me all day?" you hissed. "I'm not stupid Nick."
Your diabetes also made you prone to mood swings, mostly when your blood sugar levels were too high or low. That's why Nick usually did not make a big deal out of these outbursts, but this time felt different. Hurt flashed in his eyes, and briefly, you regretted the words.
"I never said that. I just want to make sure you have everything you need. You know the risks." His tone was soft, his gaze focused on you. He tried as much as he could not to make a big deal out of this, but your reaction had the exact opposite effect. He knew how the fear of being judged could make a person act in such a terrible way.
"I don't need you to remind me how weak and useless my body is, okay? I'm the one living with diabetes, Nick. Not you." You whispered angrily.
You grabbed your bag and left him planted there without looking back. Nick and you were usually like two peas in a pod, and to leave him there hurt much more than you would care to admit.
You got back in class, trying to act normal, but after an hour in, you felt queasy and feeble. You had indulged in some sweets some friends offered after your altercation with Nick, brushing off the risk with your ongoing anger. Subtly, you pricked your finger and couldn't help your eyes from growing two sizes when you saw the little numbers your tracker presented. You were in hyperglycemia and urgently needed to get a shot of insulin. Swiftly, you asked to be excused from the class and headed for the bathroom. The walls seemed to shake around you, and your vision kept warping up. Cursing yourself for being this dumb, you opened your bag with shaking hands, searching for your shots.
"Shit."
There was only one thing worse than fighting with Nick, and it was when you realized he had been right. You mumbled under your breath, trying to stay calm and figure out a quick solution because this was becoming urgent, and you needed the care right now. Calling Nick would do no good since he was at Truham anyway. You decided to head back to class to ask for your teacher's help, but once you tried climbing the stairs, a thousand little dots started dancing around. You were able to mutter an 'I feel kinda dizzy' before everything turned black.
You awoke to a commotion. Distorted sounds and everything around you moved too fast to register. Someone was holding your hand while you felt a pinch in your arm.
"It's okay, it's okay Y/n. You're going to be okay. I'm here."
You knew that voice. You lifted your gaze with an effort and only saw a flash of red hair before darkness swallowed you once more.
This time, when you woke up, everything was silent and peaceful. You were lying in a bed, a hospital bed, with an IV drip set up in your arm. Nick was resting in the chair next to you, his worried eyes set on his phone as he quickly typed.
"Hey," you croaked.
His head whipped up in surprise when he heard your voice. He immediately dropped his phone to come by your side. His hand flew to your forehead. The coolness of it felt incredibly refreshing as you leaned into the touch.
"Hey, kid," he whispered. He tried putting a smile on his face, but it couldn't hide the worry he was truly feeling.
"So, I'm guessing I fainted? And someone found me? And they panicked ?"
"Panicked is an understatement."
He explained that Imogen found you at the bottom of the stairs. She didn't know whether you had fallen from them or just fainted at the bottom, so she immediately called for help and texted him.
"I ran to Higgs faster than Charlie ever could," he added with a smirk, his joke stealing a chuckle from your chest.
"I'm sorry for causing such a commotion. I should wear a bracelet that says fainting is normal for me so people won't worry."
His gaze hardened at your comment. "Fainting is not normal for you. It's a bad sign, and you know it."
You sheepishly dropped your gaze. Okay, he wasn't ready to make jokes about it yet. Charlie would have laughed, you secretly thought.
"I don't understand why you pulled that crap. I just wanted to help you."
You lay back in bed with a sigh and covered your eyes with your forearm. You did know Nick only wanted to help, but still. His kind gestures irritated you so much sometimes.
"It's already hard enough to be the sick kid. That was my only thing when I was in middle school. I thought now I could step away from it, that I could be someone else. Be known for other things than my messed up immune system."
You noticed Nick's expression softened once you uncovered your eyes.
"And I know you want to help and trust me, I appreciate it. It's just that sometimes it feels like you don't believe in me. Like you don't think I'm capable of doing stuff. Instead of helping me become stronger, you keep worrying me with your horror scenarios."
It was now Nick's turn to look all sheepish and guilty. You might have been right in saying he tended to get a little paranoid when you wanted to try new things. He only thought about protecting you. He never realized the effect it would have on your self-esteem.
"I'm tired of being afraid. I've looked it up, and there are so many people with diabetes who are doing amazing things. I can stay healthy and still be a badass kid who tries new stuff."
He looked up, his eyes holding so much uncertainty and fear. Though through it all, love was the strongest thing in his gaze. He grabbed your hand once again with a tight smile.
"I hear you, I'm sorry. I never thought it would make you feel like this, or else I wouldn't have done it."
"Nick." You gave him a knowing look.
"Okay, okay. I might have still done it, but only because you're my baby sister, and I want you to be healthy and have a long, long life, okay?"
You nodded while tightening your grip on his hand.
"I promise I will be less overbearing, and I will support you in whatever new thing you want to try."
"Thanks, Nick, and for school, could you maybe not come and do your big brother number in front of all my friends? I appreciate the gesture, but I'm over dealing with the dumbasses."
He sighed heavily but still agreed to your request. "About that, just a piece of advice. I've learned that sometimes the thing we are afraid will show our weakness or vulnerability only does when we allow it to. Once you reclaim your power and own it, it all switches around. Anyone who has something to say about it will suddenly disappear, or you won't care what they have to say anymore."
You nodded sheepishly. You honestly didn't care about your diabetes. I mean, it could be a gigantic pain, and you would have to be careful for the rest of your life. But all in all, you were pretty lucky. You had your condition mostly under control when you weren't a sassy dumbass, and you had the best support system someone could wish for.
"Look at me. You're going to be okay kiddo." Your brother squeezed your hand tighter in a reassuring motion.
You lifted your head to meet his supportive gaze and smiled in return. Yes, you would be okay.

“hey, it’s y/n. sorry, i missed your call, leave a message after the beep. bye!”
“hey, uh, it’s me, just been thinking about everything tonight and i don’t know… i just miss you so much. call me when you can. bye.”
calum was a tragedy. every night he would be out partying or at a bar. since the breakup, his addiction to partying had only gotten worse. he couldn’t remember much in the past two months. he had been partying so much, it was killing him. he’d call you when he was blackout drunk some nights, confessing how badly he had messed up and how he regrets everything. other nights, when he isn’t so drunk, he’d still call, apologizing for the drunk calls.
he was spiraling down a deep dark alley, and if he didn’t fix himself now, he’d never see the light again.
he didn’t know he continued to party and drink so much. but, he continued without thinking about the consequences. even if he knew how bad he was under the influence.
some nights were worse than others.
one night it got very out of hand.
it had been hours since the party had started and calum had one too many like he usually does but tonight was different. he was angry. angry at himself for letting you slip from his hands, angry he treated you like gum on the bottom of his shoe when he should’ve treated you like the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
they were hearing the same sappy story about how he regrets everything. luckily, everyone had left before his breakdown happened.
luke sat with his head hung, rubbing his temples. “calum, you’ve had too much. cmon man. just go to bed and we will clean up. it’s almost five a.m”
“oh fuck off, luke. you try to act like this savior but in reality, you just ruin everyone’s lives.” he belted, throwing the infamous red solo cup at him, and letting the drink spill. “cal, someone is here for you” someone said, standing at the patio door.
his eyes shot up, “is it her? is it y/n?”
“i don’t think so”
his eyes fell, of course, it wasn’t you. you swore off parties and hadn’t attended one since halloween. but when he saw miya appear, rage encapsulated him. “now why in the hell are you here?!”
she looked the same as she did that night they met when miya tried to make a move on him that few parties you didn’t show up to. of course, it hit a nerve. and so, he was yelling at her for even thinking about showing up. “cal, you’re being a bit over dramatic, dont ya think?” he hand trailed over his shoulder blade but he pushed her off. “don’t you touch me. you know what you did.”
it was getting out of hand now, calum was screaming his lungs out at miya while she just stood there, finally luke called the one person he knew who would help. you.
“hey, y/n, i’m sorry it’s so late…well early but calum is drunk, very drunk. can you come to get him? he’s causing a scene.”
“what? oh, jesus christ. yeah, i’ll be there in ten” you shut off your phone, immediately hopping out of bed and finding the closest hoodie and sweatpants then running out of your apartment.
your heart was racing, the drive was a blur. trying to get there as fast as you could to prevent another fight. of course, you still loved him. you were still in love with him, currently. you listen to every message he ever left on your phone.
your inbox was full of them.
you heard every heartfelt confession, every drunk apology, each sober apology.
of course, you still loved him.
you never stopped.
“thank you for coming.” luke swung the door open letting you slip inside, then walked through the trashed house. “he’s back here.” you looked through the patio doors, seeing where he was pointing, and then you spotted him, with her. miya. everything froze in time, luke was no longer there, and everyone else disappeared.
you pushed the door to the side, stepping over crushed cans and cups to his side. “calum?” your voice was small, not sure how he was responding to your sudden appearance if he’d lash out at you or fall silent and walk away.
he picked his head up, eyes locking with yours. calum stops whatever nonsense he was doing, which by context clues, you could guess he was having another drunken tantrum. he stares at you in disbelief, was this happening? are you actually standing in front of him? was he dreaming?
“y/n?”
he says your name and you ask him "cal, what's going on?" and his eyes glaze over a little bit just from hearing the concern in your voice. it was genuine concern, any drunk person could see it. not just him.
he only blinks in response, trying to figure out the situation. he just can't believe you're there at his party after you have sworn them off and it's for HIM. not anywhere else, but his house. he repeats, “y/n” a few times before his arms are wrapped around you and holding you tightly. he couldn’t let you slip away again.
you just let it happen and hug him back saying, "hey i'm here it'll be okay" and trying to calm him down. despite your best efforts, he pulls away looking at you. taking everything in. but you saw everyone staring at the two of you. including miya, who looked like she had a lot to say in the moment. you saw the anger burning in her eyes and hid her chest turned red.
you saw luke who was about to say something, so you put your hand out to stop him shaking your head silently.
you knew calum was feeling bad, so you opted to take him upstairs. “hey why don't we get you upstairs and into bed?" you gently held his arm and that calms him down. he let you lead him inside, away from the party. you stop to talk to one of the boys on your way in explaining you're gonna take him to bed.
“thank you for calling me. i’ll get him situated and come back to help you clean up.”
so you take him upstairs, trying your best to hold him up. calum was mumbling incoherent words as you guided him to the bed. and after doing the usual drunken cleaning up and caring for him like you used to, you took a step back. anxiety consuming your body, and confusion. but, thankful his friends called you.
you’ve read stories in articles about his nonstop parties, and the drunk scenes he made. he was a wreck. but, that’s how he was coping. you, on the other hand, have been the opposite, staying in every night watching sappy movies, crying yourself to sleep most nights, losing an appetite, and making excuses not to see sierra or crystal. isolation was the only way you could cope.
standing at the side of the bed, looking down at calum who was in an out of consciousness you begin to rub the bridge of your nose out of anxiety. your heart was racing, at loss for what to do. calum opens his eyes and sees this and starts getting upset again. he feels guilty that you had to go to another party for him, he rubs his eyes before speaking, “you shouldn’t have come. y’hate parties”. you drop your hands, “i had to. i was worried.” he saw it in your eyes, you were being genuine. “you’re scaring me, cal” by now, tears began pooling in your eyes, you took a breather trying to calm yourself.
knowing he's extremely drunk and emotional, you try to get him to bed without admitting to anything or saying something you don't actually mean. “scaring you?” he breathed, watching as you tossed his shoes to the floor. “yes. you’re killing yourself. im not just gonna sit by a key you do that”. maybe you were being a bit too emotional now, so you looked away trying to get your thoughts in order and finish getting him ready for bed. if he decides to sleep.
once you get him situated you left the room for a bottle of water. he probably wouldn’t notice you were missing. no one was left except luke and ashton, picking up the litter from the party. they all looked up in your direction hoping for any news but you just shook your head and left it at that.
you returned, half opening the bottle and sitting it next to him. calum is kinda staring at you in awe. he says "you’re always the one taking care of me and i never deserved it. you deserved so much better than me." knowing he's extremely drunk and emotional you didn’t let it get to you.
you look down chewing on the inside of your cheek. don’t let him do this to you, y/n. you kept thinking, he was drunk he didn’t mean anything. you stand up to leave, wanting to go home and scream into your pillow because he misses you so much. he reached for your hand, holding it so carefully, and spoke "stay with me.” you freeze, turning your head and you look torn so he adds "please? just tonight." while looking into your eyes and looking desperate.
so, you stayed. laying on the opposite side of calum, you heard his breath steady assuming he was finally going to sleep. until you heard “i love you.” you had only hoped that if you were still he’d leave it alone and would just go to sleep. but he continued. “when i left that morning, i didn’t stop. i never did. you’re my whole world, and i hate the person i’ve become. i wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, but i screwed it up.” your heart was racing, picking at your nails you felt him shuffle next to you. “you were the best thing i’ve ever had and i let you go. ‘m sorry. you can hate me. i understand.” you waited a bit, but that was the last thing he said for the night.
you end up leaving before he wakes up, it was breaking daylight by now and you didn’t want to be there when he woke up. before leaving, you stood above him he looks so peaceful. naturally, you bent down and pressed the softest kiss on his forehead then exited the room. so, by eight a.m you were gone. on the way home, you have a small breakdown realizing the love was still there, and seeing him so vulnerable made your heart ache. but, you kept reminding yourself he was drunk. he probably didn’t even mean half the words he said.
later in the day, you had just finished your meeting now standing in your kitchen fixing a cup of coffee, until you were interrupted by a rhythmic knock. you sat the cup on your counter and walked over. but when you opened the door, calum was the last person you were expecting. “hey.” he said, stuffing his hands into his jacket. you stepped back, then saying “why are you here?” calum looked around. you hadn’t changed anything since he left. he didn’t know why you would change anything, but he expected at least something out of place. he shrugged, “i just wanted to thank you for last night, and everything.” you sighed, “come in” you stepped to the side and let him enter, then closed the door behind him. “do you want some coffee?” he sat down on the sofa, where the last fight happened. ouch.
“sure.” he answered, looking around the room. you came back with a black mug and handed it to him, and took your seat across from him.
his comment was abrupt. “i meant what i said, you know.” you looked up from your coffee, to meet with his eyes already looking at you. “what?” you blinked, placing the mug on the table. “last night. everything, i meant it. from me still loving you, to wanting ti spend the rest of my life with you. i meant every word.” he was being sincere, he held eye contact as he spoke and didn’t break it once. truthfully, you didn’t know what to say. the situation wasn’t ideal, and to be honest with yourself you knew you still loved him. “calum..” you finally spoke, followed by a long sigh and dropping your head into your hands.
“then why do you continue to do this? you’re drinking yourself to death, cal. how can i trust that you won’t do it all over again, even if i want to work this out?” calum contemplates, he sits back on the sofa searching for the right words. "i get drunk to forget the color of your eyes and the way your hair falls and how soft your skin is and the way your smile makes me feel; but it seems like the alcohol can't change my memory of you." he sets his mug down before saying, “i do it because it’s the only way i know how to cope and i know it isn’t the best way, but it’s all i know.” you crossed your arms, chewing on your lip. “and if that isn’t enough just tell me, and i’ll leave for good and you can go back to hating me.”
“i don’t hate you, calum. i was hurt. i could never hate you. not after everything we’ve been through” you rebutted. his eyes lit up. “you don’t hate me?” “no, i don’t. i could never hate you, cal” you saw him carefully reach for you hand and you let him. “y/n, i promise i’ll never do that again. i love you more than you’ll know. so please, just one more try?”
four months, three days, one hour.
that’s approximately how long it’s been since the wedding. since the day you both said ‘i do’ .
one year, four weeks, two days.
since he was at your doorstep apologizing for everything he had ever done to you.
you give him another chance, and it was the best thing you’ve done. he promised to love and cherish you forever. and he did exactly that.
the patio was decorated with fairy lights, faint music coming from inside and the two of you dancing to the music. he was humming quietly to the song, which was your first dance at the reception. “you know what?” he said to you.
“what?”
his hand on your back held you tighter. “you’re my favorite person, y/n.” he felt you chuckled softly, pulling your head from his chest. “yeah?” he nodded, “yeah.” he kissed your forehead.
“i’ll love you forever, even when i can’t.”

sorry to bother but..
just imagining gabriel calming down an angry and pissed off s/o at the Winchesters in particular
bonus if they dont get angry easily
also you're one of my favorite gabe/spn blogs who still post ^^♥
Awwww, thank you!! Enjoy!💖
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mad
The Winchester boys really piss you off one day. Luckily, Gabriel is there to stop any homicides from happening.
Tumblr media
The boys have finally done it. They hit a new low that's so low that you actually managed to get angry at them. In fact, it wasn't just one thing. It was a multitude of things that built up until you finally snapped at them.
And it was scary.
Dean always was one to irritate a little, but Sam was too nice for that. It was only when he was influenced by his older brother that things can get bad. Normally, you chalk it up to boys being boys and try not to mind so much. However, recently, they did something that caused you to go over the edge.
You couldn't even remember all the things that led up to this. All you did know was that you had gone out of your way to buy groceries for them, your car had then been stolen. You called Dean to come and get you, but he didn't answer his phone. Later, Sam called and apologized (Dean had been "busy"), and said they would come get you in a minute. They never did, and you ended up hitching a ride with a stranger that you hoped wasn't a demon all the way back to the bunker where you met a frazzled Sam and a drunk Dean.
That's when you unleashed hell.
"I have gone so damn long without getting mad here! But now you start this shit by FORGETTING about me! Leaving me to find my own way back here!" You shouted at them, Dean (drunk as he is) still looking scared while Sam tried to talk you down.
"Y/N, listen, I know-"
"Do I sound like I'm done yelling at you? I'm pissed!" You shouted, and Sam's mouth shut as he took in your rage like a child. In the midst of your yelling, you couldn't hear the small fluttering of wings as two angels arrived in the room.
"See Castiel, I told you-woah...What did we miss?" Gabriel asked the younger angel as he took in the scene. Castiel looked at your angered form, a scared look then formed in his eyes, and he noped out of there.
Leaving Gabriel alone.
Normally, Gabriel wished you would get angry more often. The boys take advantage of you sometimes because they know you'll forgive them. Well, Gabriel isn't so forgiving. If anything, they deserved a good yelling at by you. However, he knew it wasn't good for you to be so riled up.
"Y/N, Y/N, listen me. I need you to listen." Gabriel suddenly appeared before you, blocking your view from the boys like intervening a fight between two feral dogs.
You just stared at him, still pissed, maybe even more so now that he stood in your way.
"As hot as it is, you don't need to get so worked up cupcake. It isn't good for you." Gabriel then placed his hands on your shoulders, which calmed you slightly. But only slightly.
"But you heard what they did to me. And by the way, thanks for the angelic assistance." You then snapped at him for not sensing that you were in need of help. However, Gabriel took your petty anger with grace, gently rubbing your shoulders.
"I'm sorry about that. I was caught up in things. But they aren't worth your anger, Y/N. Nothing is worse than you losing that sweet smile you have." Gabriel flirted a little, which caused a slight grin to grow on your face.
"See? There it is! The smile I missed so much!" The archangel teased you before moving to kiss you quickly, which caused you to giggle. Him soon joining your now giddy demeanor.
"Thanks Gabe. I needed some calming down." You said to him, and he just nuzzled his head against yours, his cheek touching yours.
"Anytime cupcake." He whispered, and you guys were just kind of in your own little world.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dean were frozen in both fear and amazement. Fear because they didn't know if your wrath was over, and if they dared move you would strike. And amazement because they didn't know that Gabriel had such calming powers despite his impish personality.
Suddenly, the fluttering of wings sounded.
"Is it safe?" Castiel's voice whispered behind the boys.
"We...don't know." Dean responded, still watching you guys. However, that seemed like code to Castiel.
"Understood." The angel then said before placing a hand on both Dean and Sam's shoulder. With a fluttering of wings, the three of them were gone and to safety, leaving you and Gabriel alone.
And your rage may be gone, but Gabriel was just getting started.
Those boys were in a rude awakening for angering you.

Oh lqg getting affected by some sort of pollen or drug or something that absolutely murders inhibitions.
In a boring meeting? Did you know you can just stand up and walk away?
Annoying disciples annoying you? They are weak to qi blasts and honestly making their way back up the mountain is good for them.
Everyone thinks the effects make him blunter and More harsh to deal with somehow, but when he heads over to Qing Jing, as usual, lbh and sqq get to see a different side of him! He kicks open the door like normal and settles in like it's his own home.
He smiles when sqq brings out the tea, he pulls out a fan and gives it to him. When lbh huffily interrupts with snacks lqg pulls out a lovely cooking knife and says it reminded him of lbh.
The knife is sharp and layered with a dark handle. Lbh takes it carefully and lqg cheerily turns his hand to show off an already healing cut, smiling as he point it out. "It bites! Just like you!"
He's a bit more talkative, not overly so, but enough to make it obvious that he's basically just blurting everything that comes up in his head. For sqq, it's fun to track how, in normal circumstances, lqg would refine these half formed sentences into his customary brusque observations and statements. At first teasing the ultimate meaning is a bit difficult, but once sqq gets the pattern down it is a fascinating peak into his shidi's head.
Lbh is in rare form, seemingly speaking just to get lqg to react some more, in a new way his liu-shishu is normally too reserved to act on.
Finally lqg just stands up and grabs lbh's lapel and drags him outside to fight. Not even angry, he's just excited and wants to spar and usually they spar bc they're frustrated with eachother... he wants to enjoy the fight so he decides they'll just fight now.
It's one of the first times they fight just for fun, without any matter of pride or duty as a pretense, which means when lqg loses as usual he isn't actually upset or chagrined at all. It was a good fight and he tells lbh that, gives him a few pointers to refine his technique, is noticeably more casual with his physicality.
Lbh invites him for dinner and lqg agrees and he spends the rest of the evening in the bamboo hut, lbh and sqq fascinated by him. He asks for seconds, he asks sqq to explain some of the history behind more eclectic pieces of decor in the house.
He doesn't hold back on critique either, which is just as unfettered as everything else he says or does at the moment. The fact that his normal levels of harsh are still restrained is a surprise to lbh, who thought lqg didn't hold back when berating him. Turns out, lqg does, in fact, hold a lot back.
He's tired so he accepts sqq's invitation that he sleep in the extra room with them. Sqq is remembering so many psa's about not driving home intoxicated and was prepared to insist.
Lqg settles in and actually sleeps, not meditating or otherwise practicing inedia, he just curls up and sleeps. Lbh doesn't enter his dreams, but skimming the barest edges of them, even they seem wild and unfettered.
I dont have a point here except that lqg acts more like a cat than he usually does as he acts entirely on impulse. There's definitely a scene where lqg has to sleep Not in the safety of sqq's bamboo house and bingqiu get to see him very grumpy about it bc he doesn't feel as safe.
Like, he can't practice inedia for some reason so he has to sleep but his basest instincts tell him he should be alert and guarded. Sqq tries to settle him which doesn't entirely work. It isn't until lbh sits down nearby and settles in to stay awake—he doesn't sleep much normally but with sqq all concerned about lbh he can't even make a pretense at resting beside his shizun—that lqg relaxes enough to settle into a deeper sleep. Bc he trusts lbh to keep an eye out for them!!!
Anyways. He doesn't do anything too embarrassing under the influence besides be more friendly, more blunt, just Unfiltered, masking off. Probably, some of his fellow Peak Lords found him more annoying to deal with (insert scene of a peak lord trailing off their sentence in a meeting bc lqg's face is all blank and expressionless... he just decided exerting the effort to look focused (which reads as scowly on his face) wasn't worth it and stopped forcing emotes) but sqq and lbh found it fascinating! (Maybe a little frustrating)
Idk. I was mostly thinking about the sleeping scene.

valcarol interrupted mid-play bc carol needs to go save the universe but she was super in subspace and val couldn’t quite bring her out so instead she has to instruct her to go.
‘c’mon princess, that’s it, get your suit on for me honey. you’re gonna go save the world then you’re gonna come right back here to me, you understand?’
she may or may not have been edging carol before she got the call and decided to give her some incentive
she also may or may not have ‘forgotten’ to take out the plug snuggled in carol’s ass.
‘silly me, princess. it’s okay, it’ll be a nice reminder of who you belong to, wont it?’
carol goes off and saves the world and crumbles into vals arms when she returns.
‘it’s okay pretty girl, i know how big and strong you had to be… it’s okay to not be big now, let daddy take care of you now..’
idk the more i think on that scene the more that little!carol is making sense. carol who will only let herself be vulnerable with her daddy and carol who will either be the strongest person in the universe or a tiny baby who needs val to cut her food up and cuddle her at night and braid her hair…
tell me why i was about to give a lecture on dont do this!! as if NEEDING to leave midsession because theres a universal crisis is something yall would have happen
im fucking obsessed. i just. thinking about the intensity of the drop after makes me so emo because theres zero chance this happens without carol having SEVERE subdrop and i think val would go through some domdrop as well. feeling like she put carol in a position where she couldnt fight her best and therefore was endangering her more...
before my very long ramble starts - as far as little!carol goes, im on the fence! i think she'd really enjoy some parts of it and others not so much. i could be won over though im sure. yall know its my weakness.
um this turned into a thinkpiece about valcarol dom/subdrop. sorry.
carol having to go from feeling powerless to powerful and and just the fact that she submits to valkyrie in order to get away from that responsibility that burden only to have that safe space be invaded by one simple phone call that she could hear valkyrie try so hard to get her out of, yelling at fury that he should call someone else up, she'd go find thor herself if needed but no dice.
carol is able to yank herself out of subspace to fight, what choice does she have, shes basically in survival mode at that point and doesnt even really know whats going on until shes landed back in valkyrie's arms. sobbing and grabbing onto her and valkyrie choked up seeing carol so so upset and overwhelmed
valkyrie keeping it together as best she can to comfort carol enough, help her bathe and get her something to eat and clean up any injuries, til carol passes out from pure exhaustion. val making sure carol's fast asleep before pulling away from her in bed and wanting to go for her alcohol stash but she knows carol might need her again so she doesnt want to get drunk so she just goes and stands in the kitchen for a bit, gripping the counter and steadying her breathing and she can feel tears coming but fuck she doesnt want them--
and then she feels arms around her waist, a small still raspy from crying voice asking "hey, whats wrong?"
valkyrie finally crying but that kind of crying you get when youre mad that youre crying and carol's just listening to her ramble about how she shouldnt have let carol go, it was stupid of her to let her run out like that without taking more time to try to bring her up from subspace
carol kissing the palms of valkyries hands, kissing her cheeks and touching their foreheads together. "it wasn't ideal. it was hard. but you did all you could. and im okay. im safe. we're both safe. okay?"
"okay." valkyrie nods and wraps her arms tight around carol.
definitely takes them a while to feel comfortable entering an intense play-space after that. worried about if carol or valkyrie gets called away again. but once they feel secure again they start workshopping precautions to take. slowly work their way back up to playing again, ask other kink friends for advice. come out of it with safety plans and a stronger bond.
yeah sorry i have a LOT of thoughts and feelings about this clearly!!

For the recommendation fic ask, 10 and 11 :)
hi anon!! you didnt give me a fandom, so im not sure what youre looking for recs for? :P but i am still thinking about oxventure fics so i will answer with that and if you want something else, you can get back to me XD (you absolutely want something else. i know this. i have like four followers who care about oxventure. i dont care though i wanna talk about these fics)
10. a fic in a series
[NSFW warning 👍‼️] the amount of time i spend thinking about how to get to the sea is like. i am absolutely incapable of explaining how much it lives in my head rent-free. and thats not even my actual recommendation here because actually, im talking about the sequel, and the ocean, which i think about EVEN MORE.
basically anyone who has spoken to me about oxventure knows that @stickthisbig is my favorite oxventure fan writer, i think their fics are brilliant and they can sell me on anything, but oh my god, and the ocean. i like, dont even know what to say here, but i was rereading scenes from this fic literally this morning because i just missed it. i think its such an interesting take on the characters, the plot points are engaging and feel well thought-out, the way everyone acts feels realistic for them, and it hits some tropes that are guilty pleasures of mine <33 i could read the hobby horses fighting with one another for 50 years if sabine was the one writing it. also the kids in the final chapter are so cute, i love them :(
11. Bonus: recommend your favorite fic
once again, probably not a surprising answer, even though its tied between two fics XD "travis, are they both gonna be the oxventurers guild as a polycule" HAHAHAHA. WHAT. yes obviously. have you seen me
another of sabine's fics, nsfw warning again: every which way but loose is just. its so fun. its so really very fun. one of those fics where i stayed up all night reading it even though i had something to do the next day. its silly, its heartfelt, its dramatic, prudence is severely weird about corazón, the guild actually has to deal with consequences for their actions while also hooking up with each other, and then they deal with the consequences of hooking up with each other, its just such a blast <3
aaand for a rated t fic this time LMAO: marriages are like wagons (you wait five years and then four turn up at once) by @ronniebox! (i am pretty sure these are the same ronnieboxes. if not im so sorry for the random @ lmao) im just a sucker for the guild getting married. i think its really cute. this is absolutely my most reread oxventure fic, which is crazy because i really do not tend to enjoy rereading/watching things but its just so special to me <3 in fact i am gonna go reread it again now. bye
fic rec game

Hi! I started reading your story sometime in the last week and I’m OBSESSED! I normally don’t have much patience and can’t get myself to read anything past like 15k or anything that’s still being worked on, but your story hooked me almost instantly! I really liked the description and decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. The detailed descriptions you give pull me into the story and the way you seamlessly switch points of view feels so natural. I just wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying reading so far and I’m excited for more! ❤️
AW TYSM😭😭 this means a lot, esp since ive been kinda self conscious about the length of my fic lately (and also how long its gonna end up being once im actually done LMFAO) and ik my chapters have gotten ginormous BAHAHA so im glad that even if you don't usually read long stuff you still gave my fic a try and enjoyed it so much + are looking forward to more!!💖💖so ty again😭🙏 AND as usual i'll be using this to answer other asks:
Tumblr media
thank you and AA im glad to hear it!! a lot of people have been telling me ive been inspiring them to draw lately and i love it (im just sorry i dont have any concrete tips to give people other than keep practicing LOL) but good luck and i hope you keep at it!!🥰🥰
Tumblr media
GIRL IDK, IDEK HOW LONG THE STORY IS GONNA BE, but assuming im still brainrotted even when its done then YEAH u wouldnt be able to stop me if you tried😊 (im glad you like them so much as well, ty!!😭)
Tumblr media
thank you!! and yes i usually have at least a vague idea of what i want in the story before i start, though a lot of it didn't become concrete until i started writing/things evolving from there. i made a big (slightly) vague timeline of the entire fic from beginning to (almost) end, and then i keep fleshing it out from there as the ideas keep coming to me/evolving, and for each chapter i make an even more detailed outline, and THEN i get started on the final chapter. so its a bit of a process bahaha, but the brainstorming is really fun!! as for any advice, im not sure. maybe just brainstorm/write down scenes and ideas that you know for a fact that you want to put in your fic, and then try to find a way to connect them to other scenes from there and work backwards. basically WRITE WHAT YOU WANT TO READ, cuz like im my own biggest fan fr, thats the most important part LMAO
Tumblr media
LMFAO speaking of outlining future events.....this may or may not happen in the future/in an epilogue when clora is pregnant and she got those pregnant woman hormones that seb is fighting for his LIFE to keep up with HAHAHA
Tumblr media
ive been drawing since i was 4 years old so...a while. LOL. and if you even look back to the beginning of my blog, my first drawings of seb were SO UGLY💀💀 so if you just keep drawing you constantly get better naturally (also in response to the other ask you sent as well, i use clip studio paint to draw!)
Tumblr media
AW TYYY. AND YES CLORA WILL HAVE ANOTHER MC MOMENT, the ranrok confrontation is still coming, after all...👀👀 and true, idek who would win if clora and seb duelled again with neither of them holding back, but u are so right. even if clora DID win that would do nothing to change sebs mind about how protective he is LMFAO. THANK YOU AGAIN im glad you like my fic + drawings so much!!💖💖
Tumblr media
BAHAHAH in my fic (for smut reasons and so that they could be 17 when they did the nasty) i made clora's bday april 3rd and sebs february 12, so clora is an aries and seb is an aquarius (and yes i just checked and apparently they ARE compatible, so seb can rest. also i just read up on aquarius and damn it unintentionally suits seb so well?? LOL "Aquarius is undoubtedly the most innovative, progressive, rebellious, and humanitarian. " and "They have incredible energy, though they may not always use it wisely. They find it easy to get through life on charm and good looks." LMFAO. ok king we love that

WOW
What a game, holy shit 😭❤️
After all that, I was still so convinced there was going to be a way to save Constantin at the end.... he didn't deserve going through all of that. I truly don't believe that Constantin began the story with malice in his heart, or the goal to become the kind of ruler that he ended up being
Poisoned with the disease he escaped from by the people he was told to trust, a coup against him arranged and carried out, again, by people he thought he could trust, and his corruption stemmed from someone just wanting to help him be healed
And finally, De Sardet, the one last person who was meant to be there for him and help him when all other hope was lost..... was the one to end him 💔
Ugh. What a gorgeous story, I'm so so happy I got the 'best' ending possible 🥺 and I'm going to be replaying that last goodbye scene with Vasco for the next 3-5 business days, it made me so emotional 😭
De Sardet was a wonderfully done protagonist, the way he interacted with friends and enemies alike, almost always keeping a level head, with the goal to do whatever he could to foster good relations and repair damages as they were caused. I LOVED his personal journey, finding out about his own heritage and more about his people
Vasco obviously was a fast favourite companion and Kurt and Siora were also both done equally well. I feel like I enjoyed Kurt's personal missions best, honestly, they felt extremely important. Aphra and Petrus were underutilised, in my opinion, as it was clear that their differing opinions and methods were more at odds with De Sardet than the other companions
I also felt that certain side quests would have been more impactful as main missions, especially if they were also mandatory to explore in more depth. My own need to do everything I possibly can in a game, meant I didn't even think twice about doing all of the side quests, not even considering leaving them behind in gameplay
Otherwise, playing on easy mode made my experience much more enjoyable as I didn't have to worry about dying or consequences as much. While it was a bit of a speed bump to get used to controls and movement, I only initially found them a tad janky compared to larger studio games. The map system was a tiiiiny bit annoying, but nothing I didn't just get over
I chose a magic build to begin with, later utilising melee and firearms a bit more liberally. I definitely dont think I was very efficient in how I played, but the main thing was that I really enjoyed it and had fun. The combat felt really nicely done, and the Nádaig boss fights were a really awesome and impactful spectacle to engage in every now and then when the story called for it
I went into GreedFall with minimal expectations, not knowing a single thing about the story, and came out of it with so much love. I'm so fucking glad I gave this game a chance ❤️❤️❤️

Hey!
I have an idea that just wouldn’t leave my head and as you might already know I really really love your work, you have an amazing talent! This could be a scenerio or idk. So I was thinking about the lake scene in the triwizard tournament, where the person they take from Viktor is Hermione, and my idea is that the reader gets taken the same way after going to the Yule ball with Borya. And like Aemond just cant find the reader and is really worried (you can decide if the confession already happend or not). And as the first champion comes up with their person he realises whats going on and he is worried and maybe jealous and all that. Maybe something even goes bad like it did with Fleurs little sister or something and later just cute reunion and stuff. The whole thing is just Aemond being worried and maybe really affecionate after the whole thing. I dont know if you like this or not, But I would love to see this. Anyway, sorry about this being so long! I hope you are doing okay, and I will continue loving everything you write! ❤️
Siren Calls
(HotD Hogwarts AU)
A scenario of what your life could look like in the HotD Hogwarts AU - it can be read as a stand-alone, as a prequel to the "Yule Ball" series, or as a one-shot all together;
Pairing: Aemond x Reader;
Warnings: mentions of blood and open wounds - other than that, this is pure fluff!
Author's Note: Ramielll!! This!! Is!! Everything!! Thank you so much for sharing your idea with me - it blew my mind completely, and I absolutely love it! I hope you don't mind that I adjusted your ask a little and made the lake scene happen before the Yule Ball takes place;
Your support and kind words mean everything to me, and I thank you for them from the bottom of my heart 😭💗 I'm not really proud of this, but I hope you still enjoy this little piece!
Also, I wanted to take a moment to address an ask that I received from @jamespotterismydaddy regarding more HotD!Hogwarts AU headcanons - I will post them soon, as well! I didn't just ignore your request :") But I first have to work on the 3d part for the Yule Ball, since the following headcanons will have a lot of spoilers for the series;
Tumblr media
Six wizards go underwater. Do all of them swim back up?
Tumblr media
Quietness washed over the secluded corner of the library - the only palpable noise being the aggressive scribble of Aemond's black feather.
"Sounds like you got a good lead over there..." (Y/N) whispered to him, lost in concentration, and fully engrossed in her Transfiguration paper.
"Hmm." The male replied, fighting back the urge to stop his writing and meet her feeble form, clashing his eyes with hers.
"Psst," She giggled into his ear, "Go slower, why won't you? At this rate, you'll be done way before I am."
Aemond felt his lips quirk up in a content smile. His hand came to a halt, and he finally glanced upon the girl's darkened orbs.
He drank in her distinctive features, reveling in her flushed cheeks and teasing smile. Fire surged within his veins, pumping both heart and loins alike. He tightened his fist below the table, cursing himself for the weakness she so easily caused him.
"Then you'd only have yourself to blame." He hushed right back, tickling her face with his warm breath.
The Gryffindor groaned and bit her cheek in grave frustration. Her eyes widened in feigned horror, and she gripped his shoulders tightly.
"No, no - do anything but leave me in the library all alone! My poor heart will not stand it!" She warned jokingly, though lacing her voice with a serious undertone.
Aemond let out a short breath, almost begrudgingly so, before he placed his big hand atop her head and affectionately patted her back in place.
"You know I'd never leave you to study alone." He remarked dryly, unamused. His words, although neutral and clear, faded in the light of his soft voice and downy eyes. "But that doesn't mean I'll stay here all night. You'll have to make more of an effort."
Another growl and a heartbeat later, (Y/N) pouted her lips and stuck out her tongue.
"Fine." She confirmed decidedly, "You'll see just how fast I can be. I bet you five Galleons I can finish even faster than you!"
The daring nature of Gryffindors shone through her, leaving Aemond both jaded and amused by it's wake. His chest filled with a fondness that scared him, but made him feel whole - complete - at the same time.
"Deal." Aemond piped back to her, leaning back on his chair smugly.
"Shake on it, then." The girl provoked him, with a wide smile etched on her face.
Both wizards brought their hand out in the greeting of the other, and soft fingers entwined with slim and long ones.
For a while, neither seemed to want to part. Together, they fit almost like a puzzle; their palms fell perfectly against the other - the Targaryen licked his lips tentatively, and turned his stare on their joined hands. If there was such a thing as humans made for a specific purpose, he was then sure his purpose was to love that girl.
(Y/N) swallowed thickly, and felt her cheeks turn into a shade of crimson. Before either could open their mouth to speak, the dull footsteps of another echoed through their quiet space.
"Ah, Miss (L/N), Mr Targaryen - Otto told me you might be here." The grave voice of Professor Daemon rung loudly atop their heads.
As quick as it came, their moment was gone, and both students reluctantly let go of their intimate bind.
"Professor Targaryen?" The girl inquired, surprised to see their DADA professor so late at night. She got up from her chair and made more room at their table for him, but Daemon only chuckled at her politeness, raising a hand to stop her in her tracks.
"Thank you, sweetling, but I won't be long. I've come to fetch you to Ott- Professor Hightower's office."
The two students exchanged a look of weariness, before Aemond rose up from his seat as well.
"Ah, not you, Mr Targaryen. Just Miss (L/N) will do just fine."
Aemond's mouth pressed into a tight line. His lilac eyes glared into his uncle's violet orbs, who only smirked at his nephiew's half-baked challenge.
"Professor, the hour is late. I should very much like to escort (Y/N) to my grandfather's office, as well."
Daemon fought back a bemused snicker. His eyebrows rose at his nephiew's suspense, and the man smirked slightly.
"Exactly, Aemond, the hour is late. Presumably, you both have classes tomorrow, is that correct? You could do with a good night's sleep."
Just like that, the conversation was over. Daemon placed his hand on the girl's back in a soothing manner, guiding her ahead of him with a firm nudge. Aemond, for a while, stood before them, his hand still gripping the dripping end of his elegant feather.
His uncle quirked his head to the side, signaling him to make way and, eventually, he did.
"I'll see you tomorrow at breakfast, Aemond!" The girl assured her friend over her shoulder, throwing him one last dejected look.
Aemond was left alone with his thoughts, feeling more frustrated than ever. He slowly looked down at his fisted hand, and clicked his tongue in irritation.
"Shit."
The ink would leave stains on the inside of his palm.
Tumblr media
Breakfast came. And breakfast passed.
Still, there was no trace of the girl in the whole wide hall.
Aemond's stomach felt like it was doing backflips. Seven times he looked over at the Gryffindors table. Seven times he closed his eyes in ire, having failed to spot the strands of her soft, familiar hair.
Perhaps she was in her Common Room.
Endless thoughts about what happened to her surged through his mind. Had his grandfather told her something that upset her? Did she catch a cold while staying in the airy office, with nothing on but her shirt and skirt?
"What are you thinking about?" A velvety voice rang in his ear.
"Hmm."
"If looks could kill, those Gryffindors would be six feet under." Alys laughed softly, brushing her hand with his.
Aemond sighed deeply, and moved his whole body towards the entrance of the Great Hall. Alys quirked up a brow and clicked her tongue in irritation - her emerald eyes ran over his broad back and lean shoulders; she bit her lip in anticipation, as her hands slowly extended to swallow him in a sensual back hug.
But a Gryffindor passed him, and the Targaryen took his chance. Wordlessly, he got up from his table, completely brushing Alys Rivers off, and reached out to him.
"Have you seen (Y/N) (L/N)?" He inquired dryly, sparing no time for any pleasantries.
"Uhh," The 4th year began, scratching his head in confusion, "Not since last night, no. She's probably still in her dorm or something, over-sleeping."
Aemond gave him a curt nod, releasing his tight grip over his forearm.
"Do you know who she shares a room with?" He pestered again. "Are any of the girls still here?"
"Yeah, Celeste. ... She's the blonde girl over there, at the edge of the table."
As the Gryffindor spoke, his hand crept up to point out the direction of (Y/N)'s bunk-mate. Aemond hummed in satisfaction, before brushing past the boy to march over to Celeste's table.
"You're welcome, by the way!" The brave 4th year yelled after him - though his attempt to grab his attention reached nought but deaf ears.
"You're Celeste, right?" Aemond's deep voice rumbled from inside his chest. He completely disregarded the Gryffindors' heated conversation, and instead fixed Celeste with his one good eye.
"In the flesh." She joked cautiously, leaning back in her seat to take a better look at the man before her. "You're Aemond Targaryen, right?" When he gave her a small nod, she smiled, fully satisfied with her discovery.
"Thought I recognised ya from somewhere!" She beamed at him, before taking on a more solemn air. "Can I help you with anything?"
"(Y/N)." Aemond accentuated with a quirked up brow, "She wasn't at breakfast today. Is she okay?"
At his words, Celeste scans the entirety of the cluttered hall, taken aback. She brings her blue eyes on Aemond's form again, and gives him a confused frown.
"Are you sure? When I woke up, her bed was all made up and stuff. She had to have been here."
As she spoke, the girl nibbled on her lower lip.
"Actually... I haven't really seen her since last night. She said she was going to the library to study. I waited for her but then, you know, I fell asleep."
Aemond felt his jaw set tightly. His one eyes went over to the Professors' table, searching frantically for Otto Hightower.
For once in his entire life, his grandfather wasn't there.
Right in the middle of their set assembly, Professor Daemon Targaryen shot him a provocative smirk.
Aemond snarled in retaliation, and climbed up the set of stairs to have a word with his eccentric uncle.
"Professor." He greeted tightly, before barking out in a single breath, "Last night, you took Miss (Y/N) (L/N) to my grandfather's office. Though it appears as if she hasn't yet returned. Since Professor Hightower isn't here himself, I wanted to inquire you on her whereabouts."
Although his sentence was perfectly weighed in both politeness and structure, there was no denying the malice he held in his undertone.
Daemon took great pleasure in it.
"Ah, yes, of course!" He exclaimed in a mocking manner, before taking on a more serious expression. "It may come as a surprise to you, Aemond, but I do not keep tabs on students and their current locations. I can assure you, though, she'll turn up eventually."
He dismissed his nephiew with a bored swish of his robes, bidding his goodbyes with a derisive smile.
"Perhaps you'll see her today at the triwizarding function." Daemon shrugged teasingly, earning a scornful look from both Aemond and his fellow colleagues.
The Slytherin wavered a moment, before he turned on his heel with a hum upon his lips.
Tumblr media
His worry only increased with every passing hour he didn't spend in her company. Alys had latched onto him like a leech looking for her next meal, and his patience was running thinner by the minute.
Bets were placed on who will submerge from the waters of the Great Lake first - the noise of the crowd irked Aemond to no end, and her absence only intensified the feeling of dread that was setting inside his stomach.
Daemon had encouraged him to be here. Although his uncle was known to be cruel, he almost never graced people with false leads. Or so Aemond hoped.
His lilac gaze scanned through the floating towers, stopping at any student who resembled (Y/N) - at least barely.
The Targaryen let out a low growl, and decided to set his attention back onto the troubling waters.
He was worrying for nothing, wasn't he? Chances were, (Y/N) was hidden somewhere with her other friends, laughing and eating those awful flavoured jelly beans.
He had nothing to worry. Nothing at all.
And yet, jealousy swirled in his heart, pressing down his chest in a painful manner.
What were the chances that she was avoiding him? That she was sick of him following her around, and just wanted a break for the day?
His insecurity turned his attention back on Alys' blabbering.
"I bet that Borya would emerge first." She joyously told him, basking in the glow that his sharp eyes provided. "There's hardly any other champion more athletically inclined, and you need a lot of stamina to search through the whole lake for an hour."
Aemond's brow twitched at her words, and his whole disposition changed. "They have to search the lake?" He asked, unaware of the trail's circumstances.
Alya offered him a sly smile, and began playing with his robes' ends. She gestured for him to come closer, and leaned on over his shoulder to whisper in his ear.
"You didn't hear this from me, but apparently, all champions have to find something very dear to them deep beneath the lake's waters." She coyly told him, winking playfully as she sat down.
"At least, that's what Adrienne told me when I asked her last night."
Just as she finished her explanation, Oliver Hammer, Hogwarts' champion, emerged from the waters with his girlfriend, tightly joined at his hip.
A rattling thunder of congratulatory applauses could be heard from all around them. Alys pouted cutely, and turned her head to Aemond.
"Awh, that's just bad luck, isn't it? I just lost ten Galleons...!"
But Aemond had long switched his attention to Oliver Hammer. Something inside of him clicked at their sudden appearance, and the younger Targaryen made his way through the sea of people, to get a hold of the boy's damp robe.
"Congratulations, Hammer." He remaked loudly, as to quiet down the people next to them. Violet eyes were met with clashing brown hues, and Slytherin smiled at Slytherin.
"Thank you, Targaryen." He mirrored his formality with a small smirk, "You look tense. Something happened? Did you bet against me and are mad about my flawless victory?"
"Far from it." Aemond assured him, though his impenetrable expression never changed. "I have to ask you: did you spot (Y/N) down there, too?"
Oliver's eyes widened reflexively, and he jerked his head back a notch. Surprise and confusion battled for dominance, until the older boy finally spoke.
"Yeah - she's near the grindylows, about ten yards from here." He coughed into the back of his hand, and allowed the water droplets to pour down his soaked body. "How did you know?"
His question was left unanswered, though, as Aemond Targaryen made his way near the edge of water to glance within it.
"Hey, I wouldn't worry about it! Borya's assigned to her, and I saw him going there the second I left with Maya." Oliver yelled after him, and turned his attention back to his friends and brothers.
Not only was Aemond Targaryen worried sick about his friend, but he was now jealous, too.
If Alys' words rang true in his mind, then Borya cared an awful lot more about his girl than it was allowed to.
The green eyed monster ate away at his restless heart, and the Slytherin's knuckles turned white in their empty grip.
For a second, he wished he'd have written his name in the Goblet of Fire, for a chance to be the one to save her now.
Tumblr media
Something was wrong.
Although Oliver had sworn he saw Borya approach (Y/N)'s hiding place the moment he left with Maya, the Durmstrang student was yet to come back up.
Even Adrienne Lavigne got to the bottom of the challenge, dragging her Ravenclaw friend out of the water, with a protective arm around her back.
Aemond felt like a caged dragon. Irritable and in a foul disposition. He glanced at his pocket watch once every two seconds, and walked from one end to the other on the robust ledge.
Where was that Durmstrang idiot...?
His silent prayers were answered when a clump of black hair emerged from the water. Borya had floated above, but there was no sight of the girl he was supposed to bring with him.
His hands reached up into the air, and he waved frantically.
"Help! Something is not right with the chains on (Y/N)'s legs! I can't free her!" He shouted in front of the shocked crowd. "Stones won't budge them, and I lost my wand in the sea of gillyweed!"
Aemond didn't need to hear anything else. With one swift movement, he discarded his robes on the floor and took out his aspen wand.
"Aqua Mensa." He swished it decidedly, and jumped into the water without a second thought.
The pain he felt was excruciating - the fins that grew in the stead of his fingers and legs felt worse than a thousand curses, but Aemond tried to pay it no mind.
Soon, his eye adapted to the depth of the water, and his new gills allowed him to breathe again.
"She's near the grindylows, about ten yards from here." He remembered Oliver say, and he started swimming in the direction he knew the girl must have been.
Surely enough, there she was, surrounded by nothing but algae. Aemond felt his heart stop beating, and a sudden pain carved his heart open at the sight of her seemingly endless sleep.
She looked beautiful. Breath-taking. With her eyes closed, she appeared at peace with herself and others; a small smile played upon her swollen lips, as if she knew a secret that she couldn't share with anyone.
Wasting no time, Aemond clutched his wand tightly, and cut through the iron shackles effortlessly, with just a flick of his wrist.
He engulfed the girl into a deep hug, swimming upwards to the rays of sunlight that peaked above both their heads.
And it could have all ended there, were it not for the grindylows that greatly opposed themselves at the sight of their swift departure. One by one, they rose up from their fields of algae, grabbing onto Aemond's feet, pulling him downwards and biting down on him harshly.
They ripped and tarnished, pulling tiny chunks of flesh from Aemond's body - still, the boy never once falthered. He kept the girl close to his chest, protecting her head and limbs with his own, in an attempt to defend her from the perturbing attacks.
Crimson blood pooled all the way up to where the students resided, and horrified gasps echoed all the way to the Professors' ears.
Aemond's hand reached for his wand, and, with the last of his forces, he hissed out the "Ascendio" spell, giving both bodies the last push necessary to reach to the surface.
Bewildered shouts surrounded them, all from a hundred different corners - while some were of a weird congratulatory nature, most seemed scared out of their minds.
Borya pushed through the crowd of students to glance at the two, and assure himself of both their safety. He gave Aemond a wordless bow, and an apologetic look to the girl still resting in his arms.
An army of Professors gathered around them. The school's nurse, Miss Margelle, let out a terrified gasp at the sight of the Targaryen boy, whose legs were in a most pivital position.
Despite there being no more need for it, Aemond never ceased to keep his arms around (Y/N), protecting her head from the hard, damp ledge and caressing her cheeks lightly.
"You're okay." He confirmed in a gentle whisper, wincing at his own pain. He brushed the hair from the girl's face, and rubbed small circles on the small of her back as she coughed out the excess water.
"A-Aemond...!" She uttered through an attempt to gasp for air, dazed and confused by his presence around her. "The Triwizarding Tournament, I --" She tried to explain, but stopped her wordless questions at the sight of the blood pouring at their feet.
"Aemond, you're bleeding out!!" She shrieked, aghast by the sight in front of her. She placed her hands atop Aemond's in an attempt to soothe and calm him, but the boy let out an airy chuckle.
"I'm fine. Hey, hey, look at me." He searched her gaze with his own, lining her jaw upwards. "I'm okay."
"H-How is this okay to you? You must be in so much pain!" She worriedly told him, feeling her lower lip quiver and eyes well up with tears at the sight of her friend's affliction.
She cast her eyes downwards again, and bit her lip in undoubted stress. Her hands fluttered close to his open wounds, but they stilled above them, unsure how to proceed.
While the two were busy bickering and conversing, Nurse Margelle kneeled down to Aemond's level, pulling out her trusting wand and summoning her first aid kit.
Sensing movement behind his back, the Slytherin shook his head, and placed a hand before his body. "Check (Y/N) first. The grindylows might not have bit her, but she still swallowed a lot of water."
"Are you insane?!" The Gryffindor chastised him with an affectionate look in her eyes. "You're bleeding out on the floor, and you're worried about me? Swallowing water?"
"Sweet water is toxic for the body. And you took more than just a mouthful." He asserted dryly, pushing her before his own needs once again.
"Shut up. Absolutely not."
"It's not up to you to decide." Aemond accentuated definitively.
"And thankfully, neither is it up to you, Mr Targaryen!" Nurse Margelle cut in sharply. Her hawk-like eyes assessed the spots in which Aemond likely took the most damage, and got to work right away. His damp shirt was discarded on the floor, and (Y/N) let out another breathless gasp.
"Merlin's beard, Aemond...!"
"I told you..." He began, before he closed his mouth back, in an attempt to hide a wince, "I feel fine. It doesn't hurt."
"Liar." She whispered back to him, whilst she leaned in to give his cheek an affectionate peck.
For a second, Aemond's cheeks matched the colour of the gnarly wounds on his legs and chest.
"T-Thank you. For coming to save me." She huffed out in a low breath, avoiding to meet his scorching eye.
"... Don't mention it."
If it meant getting kissed like that again, Aemond would gladly relive the day's events a thousand times over.

i just finished live action avatar the last airbender. buckle up. obv spoilers incoming.
~
honestly just gonna list the good and the bad and give a number rating at the end. this will be long. also THIS IS JUST MY OPINION!!!! nothing i say is right or wrong. dont hurt me.
the good
sokka (ik this is controversial bc of his actor okokokok im js purely from a performance standpoint he ate)
zuko (absolutely devoured)
fight scenes!!!! obv not as good as the animated (we knew this) but i still enjoyed
zhao!!!!!! do not sleep on him he killed this!!
KIYOSHI!!! ARE U KIDDINGGG
overall loved the focus on avatars other than roku
suki/suki and sokka
attack on the air nomads… ik it was unnecessary and a little hard to watch but still was v interesting
azulaaaaa and the fact that we see her this season. LOVE this addition. also the way they added her was veryyyyy well done. didnt feel forced.
bumi/how they handled the bumi arc in general. some parts i actually like better than the og. like how aang knew he was bumi right away. makes way more sense to me.
sokka and katara has some very sweet and genuine moments
aang and gyatso reunion awwww
omg. the “twist” with the 41st division that zuko accidentally saved becoming his crew. the bestttttt change that they made. i loved this. something so small but felt SO impactful.
yue/sokka and yue. this is a BIG one bc i think the original show really lacks with how they wrote yue and especially her relationship with sokka. i think it was a lot better here.
when zhao admits at the end he was working w azula and that ozai was just using zuko to motivate azula. omg. that was such a cool thing they added
and now. the bad.
aang. JDHSKSJDJ SORRYYYY dont care! he got better as the show went on. overall acting wasnt great and the writing for him definitely did not help
katara OOPSIES HEHEHE sorry but again same thing. kind of a dull performance. where is her PASSION?!?! wanted to like her so bad bc katara is my girl and this girl was giving katara on paper but the performance was just kinda bleh. didnt hate but DEFINITELY did not love.
costumes. dying on this hill i do not care. it was giving spirit of halloween. and some of these wigs…. yue’s wig? azula’s fuck ass pieces hanging out? HOW MAI AND TY LEE LOOKED IN GENERAL?! ouch
^in general mai and ty lee did not need to be here at ALLLLL. def shouldve waited till s2 for their appearances.
where is the silliness? where is the humor? hardly tried to embody the fun spirit of the original and when it did it failed miserably.
gran gran saying the thing. that’s katara’s thing.
too much exposition dumping.
first ep was by far the worst imo. how sokka and katara came across/met aang? WOW what a let down holy shit.
they should’ve kept it as aang running away from the southern air temple. not that he went for a late night drive with appa. dont care that this is a small thing. it is a HUGE part of aang’s character.
idk how to word this one and i think ppl would disagree anyways. but they are making iroh too obviously “good”. ykw i mean? when we first meet him, we know he’s not like the rest of the fire nation but we still don’t truly know where his morals lie. this show made it too obvious too soon.
why did katara never train w pakku?? that makes 0 sense. i understand she was mostly self taught throughout s1. but the whole thing was that: yes, katara was good before pakku, but when she finally did get a master, she became EXPONENTIALLY better and really came into her own. i am not buying that she becomes the master katara we know and love without learning from pakku. so unrealistic. when zuko says “u found a master” and she said “yes ur looking at her”. oh girlboss feminism u are going to HELL!
would like to take a moment to say^^^ i am a feminist ok. do nottttt get it twisted. but girlboss feminism is brainrot.
aang. did not bend. a single drop of water. are u fucking KIDDING ME? that was nuts.
really felt like if u did not watch the original series, this show would feel SO all over the place and u would have so many “wtf is happening” moments. the whole omashu shit was kind offfffff a mess. i see where they were going and why they were doing that but in hindsight after the fact i was like… if i knew nothing ab this show that would have been the most confusing clusterfuck.
and i think my biggest/most general complaint that i already talked about that i will briefly touch on: trying to do too much. why are we putting in characters and plot points that do not come till seasons 2-3 and are completely unnecessary now (secret tunnel, wan shi tong, swamp-kinda episode, etc.)
final thoughts?
it was enjoyable. i cannot deny that. landscapes were gorgeous. fights were well choreographed and looked GOOD. some changes were genuinely made for the better, and even changes that i do not necessarily think were better, i could respect the creativity of some changes and understood why they were there. but overall, as most live action remakes go, this was a flat portrayal of one of the greatest pieces of fiction of all time that suffered from some overly ambitious ideas and dull writing with little to no sense of whimsy. while some performances exceeded expectations, others that were crucial to the integrity of this show really disappointed me.
overall: 6.6/10. this number is completely subject to change.
