Tumblr media
Pairing: Len Kagamine X afab!Reader
Synopsis: After school, MC decided to compete with a certain blonde-haired boy in a running contest.
Word Count: 882
Tumblr media
The bell rang, it was already the end of school hours. All students of the Vocaloid Academy fixed their things before exiting their respective rooms. "Hey, Len. Wanna compete with me in running?" A certain [h/l] [h/c]-haired girl asked the banana lover Kagamine.
Len looked up from his bag and then to her, pink dust appeared on his cheeks after seeing her sparkling features. "Sure thing, I'll just have to inform Rin" He replied. "No need to inform me, [Name] already told me" There comes the other Kagamine.
You and Len looked at Rin who smiled at her brother. "Len, you can go and have a running competition with [Name]. Miku said she needed help with something, so I will be going now. Bye!" Rin said before exiting the room, now you and Len are the only ones left.
"I guess Rin still cares for her little twin brother" You teased, grinning at Len who blushed at your statement. "Yeah, right. She is actually the opposite of that" He rolled his eyes and then stood up from his seat. "Shall we go then?" He asked you, and you nodded.
All students had already gone home, and you and Len went to your lockers to return some unneeded things before going to the track field. "We used to compete with each other in running when we were little, right?" The blonde asked as he plopped his things down.
"You're right, and you always lose" You mocked him. "Oh please, I can win this time" He rolled his eyes. You just smirked. "Alright then, the game's on" You proclaimed at his face. "Sure" Len also smirked then touched his forehead with yours, staring at each other's eyes for a while.
Len started to blush at the closeness the two of you were in, but luckily for him, you withdrew back your head. The [h/l] [h/c]-haired girl went to the starting line in position. "Why are you still gazing off? I will start here without you, Len" You called to him.
The blonde Kagamine snapped out of his thoughts with the help of your voice, he blinked a few times before heading to the starting line with a flushed face. He went into position right next to you. "Hey, you're red. Are you fine, should we stop?" You asked him in concern.
"I-it's nothing, really! We should start" Len argued while hiding his still blushing face. "Okay...?" You raised one of your eyebrows at his changed demeanor, Len wasn't usually like this whenever he was with you. "Alright then. Ready.... Set.... Go!" You said out loud then started to run as fast as you could.
Len did the same, he ran with the same speed you have. You looked over to your shoulder to see Len catching up to you. You furrowed your eyebrows in determination to beat him then increased your speed. Len doesn't want to be beaten so he also increased his running speed to match yours.
The two of you were near the finish line yet you and Len were at the same speed, the two of you crossed the goal simultaneously. "That.....was.....a tie....." You said between pants, you rested your hand on your knee while panting. "Yeah.......you're right........." Len agreed as he sat on the track field with sweat all over his body.
Your legs decided to give up and the two of you sat close to each other. You looked at Len and he looked at you, the two you stared at each other's eyes before breaking into laughter. "Look at your face, you're all sweaty!" You told him, laughing at his sweaty face.
"Speak for yourself, [Name]. You're a total mess!" Now Len has something for a comeback, he pointed at your messy feature. Sweaty face and body and messy hair. You just smiled at Len. "Here. I'll wipe your face" Len crawled to you and wiped your sweaty face with his yellow handkerchief.
You blushed at this. "There! All done" Len declared while sitting back. Your face is now as dry as ever. "How about we go outside for a drink?" You suggested, standing up. "Sure. We'll have to change first" Len agreed then stood up too. "If you want..." You started, Len turned his attention to you. You slyly smirked.
"We can change together in here outside," You told him. Len's face suddenly heated up after hearing your sentence, smoke appeared from the top of his head from too much heating. "I'm just joking! You always take everything I say seriously!" You laughed at his expression.
Len finally came back to normal and then looked at you with a smirk, now he has a plan. "If you wanted to~" He went to you and lifted your chin for your eyes to meet his ocean-blue ones. Your laughing matter stopped when Len touched your chin. Now you're the flustered one.
"J-jerk! Let's just go change" You swatted Len's hand away then took your bag and headed towards the building. Len caught up with you while laughing. "Gotcha!" He declared. You just huffed and then crossed your arms. But after a while, you broke again into laughter.

AVCon Day 1 2023 Report
Tumblr media
I had the opportunity to go to AVCon this year, a convention in Adelaide that made its return this year! It was my first ever anime convention, and it was a whole load of fun!
I went with Pie @piedivide, a good friend of mine! He cosplayed 9S, you’ll see him throughout the report hehe ^^
The report is under the cut!
Since I was going to a convention, I thought I should cosplay! When else would I have the chance to after all?
There were so many characters I wanted to cosplay, but at the end I chose…..
Tumblr media
Bocchi-Chan from Bocchi The Rock!
Here is my beautiful pose I did because I couldn’t think of any other pose lol
Her wig was an absolute nightmare though, it was always so tangled even when I brushed it out, I’m definitely going for a character with shorter hair next time.
Exhibit A:
Tumblr media
See that mess lol
But regardless, let’s actually get into it!
Pre-Con
I got my butt up at 6am in order to get ready, since I wanted to get to the convention around 10am (spoiler alert I did not manage to get there by 10am).
I tied my hair back here because I was worried about sitting on the wig and pulling it off, but honestly I probably didn’t need to lol
Since the convention is in the city, I had to catch the train.
In full cosplay.
It didn’t help I forgot the timetables change on the weekends so I had to wait like 30 minutes at the station for the train to come with my mum lol
People were staring which was understandable, I was Bocchi after all with her bright pink hair and colourful costume lol
Lucky for me, there was a Yuyuka cosplayer and a few others also in cosplay so I felt less embarrassed.
The Yuyuka cosplayer actually sat behind me on the train!
Once I got to the station, I went straight to the bathroom to brush out my wig because it was a hot mess.
Tumblr media
Still was a hot mess here actually lol
Con Time!
I met with Pie after my attempts of fixing the wig and we headed to the convention! So we got there like after 11am!
Tumblr media
There was a okay line and we waited, and of course me being me, instantly started freaking out about all the cosplayers and pointing out who was who lol
Like right when we got to the line, I saw a Kagamine Rin cosplayer and I freaked out lol
There was a very pretty Mona too and I freaked out again lol
I did a lot of freaking out okay. That’s just how I am. You can’t expect me to stay calm at an anime convention! That’s like…impossible.
We were holding our phones with the QR code for our tickets and it was hard to believe we were here.
Pie and I sort of spontaneously decided to go like 8 months ago and I never thought the day would finally come. As we got closer and closer, it became more and more real.
Once we got in, we got our passes and we headed straight into the food hall (only because we had no idea where was what and we couldn’t be bothered getting out the map so it was a fun adventure lol).
I'm so glad we got passes! I thought we would get the paper tag but no! Real passes! Felt so cool!
Continuing straight, we arrived into the Video Games Hall, which had a giant stage and a lot of laptops! And right on the side was….handhelds?!
Whole bunch of games and consoles for sale, ranging from the N64 to the Wii! PlayStation 1! 3DS! DS! I was surprised, I didn’t think that I’d see any Wii games at the convention.
My hard drive I use with my Wii actually stopped working so I’ve been buying physicals of the games I really like ;;
And lo and behold, they had Mario Kart Wii. The one game I’ve been looking for since like….2021? Now I can play CTGP and mods!!
Instantly bought it along with Wii Sports Resort because I love Wii Sports Resort. Been wanting to play it.
And it was right there and I couldn’t resist okay
Already managed to spend money and I just got there lmao
Tumblr media
It is what it is.
Anyway, we continued through the hall, admiring all the games. It was just all so cool! I saw Street Fighter 6 and went :O
There was also a giant Game and Watch System!
Tumblr media
I was mostly in awe the whole time. I also continued my freaking out lol
Then we exited to the Artist Alley. The holy grail of art. There were over 90 artists there.
Hoo boy I dropped money here lmao
We beelined to Kamaniki’s booth (I freaked when I saw their name on the map lol), but also taking the time to walk and see all the art! Everyone is so talented, it’s incredible!
We found Kamaniki’s booth and we each bought two prints. I got Pyra and a Bocchi the Rock one!
Pie and I decided that we had to buy a print with our respective characters on it, and we did! Pie got a Nier Automata one that had 9S on it.
We then continued our trek, and then I bought more prints because I couldn't resist lol
We then went to the Exhibition Hall which was full of anime merch! There were stalls everywhere.
We saw Callie and Marie plushies and guess what we did….
Tumblr media
We bought them instantly lol
I got Callie and Pie got Marie!
Then we walked around some more and oh my god they had Hololive gacha. Volume 4 and 5. I made this screech and Pie laughed his head off lmao
I love Hololive okay
I thought we needed coins for it (which I did not have) but we had to buy tokens (which I could with the power of my card). I bought two rolls and did each Hololive gacha!
I tried to predict who I would get but I was very wrong haha, but I didn’t mind who I got. I like everyone in Hololive!
I got Lui and Marine! Love them so much.
Pie did a Spy X Family one and a Hololive one too. He actually nearly did the wrong gacha until I yelled at him not to lol (you’re welcome Pie lol).
I saw a stall that was operated by my Uni (they’re a sponsor) and it made me think about the fact I had Uni the next week ;;
Then we walked around some more! It was so cool seeing so much merch in one place! Had to resist buying stuff, I already spent quite a bit at this point aha
After we decided to go get some food because we were hungry.
We wanted to try Takoyaki but they ran out, all they had left was Karaage Chicken. It was really good!
We had to wait for like…20 minutes for it which was fun. I was 47th and they only announced like...30…..
Tumblr media
Us waiting lol
Someone actually came up to me asking for a photo during that time and I was really happy!
Never thought I’d get asked for any photos honestly. It made me so happy! Pie got asked for photos too, it was so cool!
Actually someone came up to Pie and said “Hey I really like your 2B costume!” which was really hilarious lmao
Of course Pie was kind and stuff and said thank you but still lol
And Pie also asked for photos as well!
Tumblr media
Love the poses here hehe
I had the bright idea to torture myself by using chopsticks. I know how to use them, but I’m absolutely crap at using them.
I also had a fork so I could give up at any time. Like halfway through, I decided to just use my fork. I reached out to grab it, thinking I would be saving myself all the struggle.
But tragedy struck.
Tumblr media
I DROPPED THE FORK ON THE GROUND 😭
I was forced to use the chopsticks the whole time and Pie just watched me suffer
I’m a chopsticks failure……
After I finally finished, we went to get some photos together! For this occasion, I bought a tripod! It came in handy!
We took a lot of photos!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of the ones I like (I would put them all but no space sadly, Tumblr limit ;;)
My eyes also decided to kill themselves half way through and I had to retreat to the bathroom. I looked like I was crying when I wasn’t ;;
My eyes like to do this thing where if something irritates it, it starts tearing up immediately. It’s very fun (T_T)
I think it was after this, I saw a Mizuki from Arknights cosplayer. Didn’t expect to see Mizuki here but I freaked out of course lol
I love Mizuki.
And I really wanted a photo. But I was too shy to ask.
So Pie did for me (thank you Pieeeee)
Tumblr media
ME AND MIZUKI AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa
Namie-mama I did it!! They were so kind!
Then we just walked around for the rest of the con pretty much, though all the halls. Bought some more prints and simply enjoyed our time!
When it was nearly the end of the con, we decided to buy each other one print that the other would like. We split off, and I went bounding down the left side of the Artist Alley.
I didn't even go that far when I saw the perfect print. It was a beautiful BOTW print with Link riding a horse. It screamed Pie so I bought it immediately.
The artist even offered another print for another $10 but I declined because we were only meant to get one print for each other.
So I sat and waited at the area we agreed to meet at since I already found the perfect print quicker than I anticipated.
Tumblr media
Picture I took while waiting.
More people asked me for photos actually to my surprise, there was this little kid who wanted a photo with me and it was so adorable. Made my heart warm hehe ( ◠‿◠ )
Tumblr media
Like so! I heard "Bocchi" from behind me and I'm like "Huh??" “That’s me!”
I honestly wished I got more pictures with cosplayers, I was too shy to ask like anyone lol, next time I really want to ask people! Got to be more confident!
But I did admire them from afar! Staring a bit creepily but that’s definitely what Bocchi would do lol
There were these Genshin cosplayers that looked amazing, especially this Yaoyao and this Arlecchino and Columbina!!
And I saw Mew Ichigo too!! Apparently they made their cosplay themselves which is sick.
I didn’t take that many pictures of the convention itself, since I was mostly just experiencing everything, taking it all in. Next time I want to take more!
And make a vlog too!
Definitely want to go to another convention again! And spend way too much money (I refuse to look at my bank account, I don't want to know how much I spent lol).
Thanks for reading my report! ^^

fav miku (or any vocaloid) figure??
Aahh sorry I took a while to respond! I actually went through my Pinterest board of figurines to be able to answer this properly (I don't keep up with figurines or their names or anything I just save photos if I think they're pretty lol)
So for other vocaloids, I love all Gumi nendoroids, and the Kagamine Rin And Len Tony Ver. figurines (I think the Kagamine ones should pop up if you google them like that, I made sure to get the names that would turn up the figurines in search results)
And then for Miku I have two (well, maybe three. I kind of want to include Ribbon Girl Module figurine since I'm so obsessed with her but I'm not sure), but one of them I don't know the name of :( I'll post the photo at the end of the post in case anyone can identify her because I think she's literally the cutest but reverse image search didn't give me any results
And the other one that I'm also obsessed with is the Good Smile Character Vocal Series 01 Hatsune Miku with Solwa 1/7 scale. The DETAIL- I'm so in love
Ask game (text is a link)
Photo of the Miku figurine I can't identify:
Tumblr media
[Image Description: A small figurine of Hatsune Miku. Her hair, while still tied into twin tails, is a lot shorter, and she wears a white shirt with pink details. She rests her head on her hands, and her elbows rest on a table. She has her mouth open and blushes, her brows slightly furrowed. On the table in front of her, there are toy food decorations. She also seems to be sat on a pink couch. End Image Description]

Hey Gangle, who is your favorite vocaloid?
Gangle had been browsing through various tags on Tumblr, when a notification appeared. She blinked a couple of times in surprise. An ask? Already? She smiled, excited that someone was actually interested in what she had to say. Then uncertainty took over and her smile fell. What if it wasn't a nice ask? What if Jax had found her blog and sent her something nasty? Hesitantly, Gangle clicked on her inbox, braced for the worst.
Gangle's smile returned as she saw the ask, and she clapped her ribbon hands together happily before writing out her answer.
Hiya anon! Thank you for being my first ask! Hmmm, favorite Vocaloid? That's tough, there's so many to choose from. Hmmm... Hatsune Miku is probably the most obvious and classic choice, but I also like Kagamine Rin & Len a lot too!
Gangle hit post and sat back in her chair, glancing over at one of the shelves in her room. Her tiny collection of figures looked back at her, including a Hatsune Miku one. Maybe next time she was allowed to choose a prize after an adventure, she'd ask Caine for a Rin & Len one to add to it.
[Thank you for the ask! I don't actually know a lot about Vocaloid, so I'm not really sure who Gangle's favorite would be, but Servant of Evil is one of the Vocaloid songs I remember liking when I was younger, so I thought putting Rin & Len down would be a good choice!]

LEN START OF RELATIONSHIP HC!
Tumblr media
Len is more of a "plan all dates ahead guy" than a spontaneous guy lol. He puts so much effort into your dates, but I hc him as being a little clumsy and forgetful, so most of the time the dates don't end up based on his imagination.
One day he planned a picnic (which happens often btw) he bought so much food, even asked Rin to help him bake. But he forgot to check the weather and so when you sat together and he even gave you a dandelion crown he made, it started raining. And y'all had to hide under a tree. All the food was ruined too :(
Things like this happen all the time, and tbh he feels very guilty about this. It's one of his biggest insecurities too, so please don't be mean to him when another date gets ruined. Hug him and say some words of affirmation, it will make him fall for you even harder!
About dates, Len tends to carry a small diary, when he finds a nice park or finds out some kind of festival is about to happen, he always writes it down to not forget it.
Len is also very inexperienced in relationship stuff, so he tends to ask Rin and Miku about lots of things and write them down.
He is very awkward about romantic things, one day y'all were in wonderland Sekai. Sitting on the grass and watching the clouds. When Len wanted to kiss you. But he was so nervous and didn't know what to do. And so he just stared at your lips for three minutes straight.
Until you got insecure thinking you had something on your cheek. He would apologize and run away with a red face probably.
Yes, expect Rin and Miku to tease you a lot. Like you and Len would be standing next to each other and Miku would "accidentally" bump into you, which would make you fall onto Len.
Rin would then randomly start asking her brother (yes I hc as siblings) about you, and if y'all been to date yet, etc. Maybe she would even go to Meiko and start speaking about Len's new s/o.
Meiko would join teasing you and Len and would start speaking about you whenever she could. So expect someone completely random like Saki or Toya randomly walk by and congratulate your relationship.
Luka would fangirl a lot.
Yes, one day Rin would jump around you with a piece of cloth, she would tie it around your eyes and would say that she has a surprise for you. Miku would then take your hand and lead you to wonderland Sekai.
Suddenly you would hear soft classical music and clapping. When Miku took the cloth off your face you could finally see what was happening.
Len is by your side nervously waiting with cloth around your eyes dressed in smoking. And Kaito standing in front of you with a random book.
Did Miku and Rin plan a wedding for you two?
Your face went even redder when Luka gave you some hand-picked flowers and a candy rings ↓
Tumblr media
So yes, dating Kagamine Len is just a mix of constant teasing, awkwardness, picnics, and fluffy moments!

“Horse of Evil”; Scene 4
The Kagamine Rin and Len 14th Birthday Novels, pages 172-175
♘ Josephine ~In the Kingdom of Lucifenia, “Anonymous Coast”~
.
From time to time, I would help Riliane sneak out of the palace to go have fun.
Riliane could come to the stables alone, and if she left while leaving the doors unlatched, that was my cue.
I would covertly slip out of the stables, making sure not to get caught by the servants.
And I would sneak out of the palace grounds through an escape path in the wall that Riliane had shown me in advance.
She told me this was a secret escape route that only the royal family knew about. They must have made it presuming that whoever left would be fleeing the palace on horseback, for it was tall and wide enough for me to slip through.
I would wait at our designated spot, where finally Riliane would appear.
She would climb on my back, and then we would go running about through the wide, outside world—
For me, those were my most fun, and happiest moments.
.
The forest nearby the palace was my and Riliane’s favorite playground, but today we wound up going a bit farther, to a sandy beach where we could see the sea.
The sea was quite beautiful, but I admittedly didn’t much care for it.
I wasn’t a good swimmer, and there had been an occasion where I almost drowned after going in it, before.
Perhaps because she knew about that, Riliane made no move to force me to take her up to the waterside.
She got down from my back, then sat down beside me and began to gaze at the ocean.
“…”
For a while, she continued to stare at the madder red sunset, not saying a word.
Then eventually she said,
“My mother…died.”
Anne?
Come to think of it, it had been a while since I’d seen her.
“From now on, I—that is, We, will be the one ruling this country.”
Though she had grown some compared to when we’d first met, Riliane was still a child.
Even so, there was nothing about her demeanor that suggested she was frail or afraid of something, as there had been in the past. Her behavior with the servants was much more forceful…she had actually come to feel haughty, even.
“I must…I must be strong,” Riliane whispered, as though convincing herself.
I’m sure that she must have known for some time that Anne’s final days were upon her.
The strength that it took to rule a country…to hold the same dignity that Anne had…She must have been trying to imitate her mother’s bearing.
Her underlings should have been obediently serving her, understanding her wishes, but…apparently that wasn’t the case.
“That cursed Leonhart…”
Riliane uttered the name of the captain of her royal guard.
Several times, I had been witness to her quarreling with him.
It seemed that today as well they had fought for whatever reason, and so she had fled the palace in irritation.
The road ahead was beginning to look complicated.
But, being a horse, there wasn’t really anything I could do about it. My only option was to accompany her on her diversions like this—
…Someone was approaching.
It was…Riliane’s new servant, one that I’d been seeing around lately.
I think he’d said his name was Allen or something.
“Riliane…Princess Riliane.”
He must have come here after searching for Riliane when she disappeared from the palace.
After the two exchanged a brief conversation, Allen noticed that Riliane had a light scrape on her hand and started to tend to it.
Riliane received Allen with a firm attitude, but she also looked to me like she was having fun, a little bit.
They were about the same age. Though theirs was a master and servant relationship, it was good for Riliane to have a friend on hand that was of her own age group.
We wound up going back to the palace, and Riliane once more climbed up onto my back.
Then, looking at the setting sun, she said to herself,
“The sun is always all alone. …It is…just like Us…”
.
On hearing those words, I felt incredibly lonely.

Summary: It's a quiet day in the Sekai without a name. Miku wonders where everyone is...
Fandom: Project Sekai Colourful Stage! Characters: Hatsune Miku (Nightcord), Kagamine Rin (Nightcord), Megurine Luka (Nightcord), Meiko (Nightcord), Akiyama Mizuki, Shinonome Ena, Yoisaki Kanade, Asahina Mafuyu Relationships: Everyone & Hatsune Miku Rating: G Word Count: 1930 Mirror Link: AO3 Original Post Date: 01/09/2021
Notes: Written for Hatsune Miku's 14th birthday! This was not inspired by the official birthday art that Project Sekai released, since I wrote this back in July. What a happy coincidence that the art ended up featuring Nightcord Miku though!
I refer to 25 ji Nightcord de as Nightcord.
~~~
Miku hummed a tune with no name, the very same one that had left her throat when she’d come to realise her existence in this colourless world, and that had continued to fill this wide space in the months that had passed since then. A song with no lyrics, only a melody that had slowly evolved, from a hopeless, flat loop to one with crests and peaks, able to bring a smile to the girls of Nightcord and elicit a warmth within her heart, which did not beat.
Miku appeared to be completely alone, standing in the middle of the nameless Sekai. Rin was nowhere to be found. Perhaps she was hidden in one of the many corners or behind one of the countless walls, as she usually was. No matter the case, there was no sign of her.
But the silence that pressed on Miku’s shoulders was made all the more conspicuous by the lack of Meiko or Luka. The boisterous pair loved to argue, having done so nonstop ever since Luka’s arrival. This place hadn’t been quiet since then, their raised voices carrying all through the Sekai, giving her and Rin no respite from the noise. They’d had to resort to sitting behind a wall, which helped to muffle the sounds somewhat.
Rin had complained many times while in that position, but Miku thought that the other girl likely felt the same as herself - happy, that it was more lively here, the air no longer cold and dead. She just didn’t know how to say it out loud.
Without Meiko or Luka around, the silence that had once been the norm was now rather... overbearing. How had the two put a stop to their arguing for once? Had they simply grown tired of it? What were they doing, then? In fact, what was everyone doing? Rin, Meiko, Luka… Where could they be hiding?
And… why?
Were they hiding from her?
The familiar sound of someone entering the Sekai broke Miku out of her reverie. She stopped her humming, turning to face the visitors, wondering which of the four girls from the real world had come to visit today, and for what purpose. Sometimes they didn’t seem to have a purpose, stating that they were here “just for fun”, as Mizuki liked to say. She didn’t understand why anyone would want to do such a thing, to come here “just for fun”, when she and her companions weren’t what was considered good company.
But she never spoke up. She liked being in the presence of the girls. Surely, her fellow Vocaloids felt the same.
If the girls had come to seek help or assistance, then Miku would render it, to the best of her power. She would do anything that she could, even if she struggled to comprehend the complicated issues and emotions that these girls toiled with. Kanade’s guilt, Mizuki’s uncertainty, Ena’s lack of confidence…
For that was her purpose for existing. In her first second of consciousness, she had held the knowledge that she was meant to give Mafuyu as much comfort as she could. A wish that had come to extend to Mafuyu’s three companions.
She could not save Mafuyu on her own. She did not possess the necessary power, or even a physical body to protect the vulnerable girl. Her own emotions confounded her - it was that rare that she could put a name to the currents of her heart, let alone tell Mafuyu the best course of actions to soothe her pain. She could only give what she deemed was the best advice possible. To truly help Mafuyu, she needed the help of kind Kanade, determined Ena, and sensible Mizuki.
Miku didn’t know why, or how, any of this had come to be. Other than by the strength, or perhaps more accurately, the absence of Mafuyu’s feelings. It did not matter. She would gladly perform her purpose.
Miku expected to see one girl. Perhaps even two. Instead, the sight before her shattered all expectations.
All four members of Nightcord stood before her: Ena, Mizuki, Kanade, and even Mafuyu. Ena and Mizuki were sporting matching mischievous grins on their faces and holding back laughter; Mizuki holding a ribbon-adorned box by the corners while Ena gripped… unfamiliar cone-shaped hats with polka-dots on their surface. Kanade had a small smile on her face, and even with the blank expression on Mafuyu’s face that she always wore, she came off as strangely jovial. Kanade had a giant stack of paper decorations balanced precariously in her arms, while Mafuyu held what seemed to be a folded banner.
Confused, Miku cocked her head to the side. What was all this for? The last time all four girls had come was when Kanade had played her new song for everyone to hear, and Mafuyu had broken into a small, true smile for the first time in a long while.
At that very moment, the memory of Mizuki telling her about birthdays surfaced. She was fairly certain they had mentioned all the “equipment” here were involved in celebrations.
So all of this was presumably to celebrate a birthday… But whose? Nightcord had already celebrated Ena’s, and Mizuki’s, just a few days before… Hm, she supposed she could wait for them to explain, for she didn’t know the dates that everyone’s birthdays fell on.
But none of the four said a word, only continuing to stand there as if waiting for something.
All of a sudden, a ribbon revealed itself over a nearby wall, swaying slightly. It was quickly followed by a familiar head of golden hair, blue eyes blinking as Rin stepped out, black-and-white dress fluttering around her knees. Meiko and Luka were not far behind, the two already glaring at each other, raring to go.
So the three of them had been close-by all this while? Why the need for concealment, then?
What was going on? She couldn’t help but ask that question to herself again.
No answer presented itself, and she could only watch as her three fellow Vocaloids walked up to Nightcord. Materials passed between eager hands, fingers pointing in every direction as everyone split up to the four corners of the Sekai. The atmosphere was festive, conversations held in airy tones to coordinate where to position decorations.
In no time at all, the Sekai was bursting with colour. Banners hung from the remnants of overturned lighting trusses, now fulfilling their original purpose of holding objects, though rippling fabric was a far cry from spotlights. The cone-shaped hats sat securely on everyone’s head except her own, the mysterious box safely stashed by a wall.
She was still frozen in the centre of the hubbub, hands clasped over her heart. A faint thought whispered in her head, tickling the corner of her mind like a feather.
She was the only one not being involved in the preparations. And just days ago, Mizuki had been spared from expending any effort on the day of their birthday, left to lounge in a corner and watch with a smile.
“Here!” The exclamation attracted her attention to a waving Mizuki, who ran up and came to a stop in front of her - the first person to approach her. With the additional height they had on her, Mizuki was easily able to plop what Miku now realised was a pink party hat on her head, gently adjusting the strap so that it ran under her chin. Miku could do nothing but blink and stare at Mizuki, wondering if she was dreaming, if any of this was actually happening, or if the Sekai had somehow collapsed and sent her into an illusion.
“Perfect!” Mizuki commented, grinning and stepping back, their hands clapping together with a resounding sound that knocked Miku out of her speechless daze. “You look so cute, Miku!”
Upon spotting everyone else calmly walking over, she finally opened her mouth, fingers tightening over her chest.
“Is it…?”
Those were the only words she managed to get out before she clammed up. She couldn’t articulate the thoughts racing through her mind, nor the conclusion she had arrived at.
It couldn’t be fake. That was the only thing she was sure of. The colours, the sounds, the people and the expressions on their faces, their true emotions… It was all too vibrant, too real, too much.
Kanade nodded, seemingly understanding everything she wanted to say from her shaking words alone. Ena did the honours of cautiously opening the cover of the box with a steady hand, revealing a beautifully crafted cake, swirls of whipped cream artfully forming the border, strawberries topping the vanilla.
Written elegantly on its surface in red cream were the very words that left Kanade’s lips now.
“Happy birthday, Miku.”
“Yeah! Happy birthday!” Both Mizuki and Ena chirped, reaching into their pockets and throwing out handfuls of confetti that caught in her hair.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done for us,” Kanade continued.
“Yes.” Mafuyu nodded. “Happy birthday,” she said in her usual flat tone, face displaying no sign of emotion. Perhaps Mafuyu was only saying it to go along with what she’d been told to do, to avoid angering Ena. Perhaps she meant nothing by those words, was truly incapable of packing any scrap of emotion into them.
Yet Miku could sense… that same smile from the time before, hidden behind the pale, unmoving expanse.
“I…” Miku murmured. Something was choking up her throat. Her heart both felt like it was soaring, and like an invisible hand was squeezing it, something intangible filling it up to the brim. It was so full that it hurt. Not a sharp pain, but an ache, one that consumed her whole chest.
Something wet slipped down her cheek, salt hitting her tongue.
“You’re… crying,” Mafuyu said, eyes a little wide, just a little hint of awe in her voice, where there should have been none. It was, after all, nothing but an observation.
Miku reached up a trembling hand to press against her cheek, bringing it away stained with tears.
Ah. Mafuyu was right. The impossible had happened, emotions making their sudden, mystical appearance when they should have been kept away, blocked by an unbreakable lock.
“Miku…” Mizuki muttered, gaze sympathetic, a small smile on their face.
“Thank you,” she finally managed to force out, breaking into a smile larger than any that had come before, stretching from one corner of her face to the other, even as tears continued to leak from her eyes.
She knew now, why her heart hurt.
As she enjoyed a wonderful day in the Sekai with those that had become her friends, a day that she would never forget - eating the delectable, sweet slices of her birthday cake; being subject to Mizuki’s hairdressing as they tried their best to tame the unruly tangles of Miku’s massive locks with an assortment of ribbons; receiving birthday wishes and the strangest of presents from everyone... she finally came to understand.
The answer had arisen, making itself crystal clear.
Her heart hurt from happiness. True happiness, which could shatter just as easily as it could uplift, could stab just as much as soothe, when one was not used to it.
True happiness, from her friends remembering her birthday.
True happiness… from someone finding her existence worth celebrating.
And there were still some questions that couldn’t be solved, the answers to which were not in sight, and may never be.
But that was alright.
She would simply eke out her existence, moment by moment, taking what may come and enjoying the company of her friends.
Camellia Flower -- veran kuriensu English Lyrics
Song by veran kuriensu (ヴェーラン)
VO: Kagamine Rin and Len
English Translation
This is a song of the sin I committed (This is a song of the sin I committed)
Of an apparition who loved a human (Of a child of humanity who loved a god)
A head falls with a splash into the pond
Like a bright crimson camellia
In the mountains, deep in a valley, there is a large pond
Where it is said lives a god of the water
Which the nearby village
Worships as their guardian
Beside that pond, on a chill morning in early spring
Is where I met him, a total crybaby
He buried my loneliness
He was a small miracle
We meet again and again (There is a tale passed down in our village)
What are these feelings that gather up and up? (Of a time when calamity visited)
The catastrophe leering up on that village (It is said that they offered a living human)
I didn't think to pay it any attention (And the disaster was quieted)
This is a song of the feelings we shared
Of a sweet sensation that we couldn't quite name
Rippling through my chest continuously
Like a bright crimson camellia
That fall just at sunset, he and I beside the pond
We made a promise to be together for always
Such a precious memory is his smiling face
Stained a crimson blush
The people were begging their god to save them
From an epidemic spreading through the village
A villager with no one to miss was chosen
And made into an offering
The initiation of this human sacrifice (Pond illuminated by bonfire's light)
Is a ritual marriage between villager and god (Dedicated offering given to god)
The one sat unreachable behind that bamboo curtain (I can tell even with your face hidden)
Is the one I meet beside the pond (It is the one I love)
This song is a poem about the god's village
Of the human sacrifice's final moment
Head falling with a splash into the pond
Like a bright crimson camellia
The apparition who'd taken to living in the pond for a time (That promise)
As a god feared and respected (Dissipates unfulfilled)
Merely a spirit in deity's glamour am I (Transient)
That I can bring forth just one miracle (As a camellia)
This is the song of the sin I committed
Cradling in hand the severed head of my beloved
A miracle performed, one life exchange for another
The camellia flowers blooming by the pond
This is the song of the sin I committed (This is the song of the sin I committed)
A child of humanity who killed a god (Of a tragedy that spread through a village)
When eyes opened that were no longer human (The abundance of camellia flowers blooming upon what remains)
They were bright crimson like a hell flower (Are bright crimson like a hell flower*)
*T/N: "hell flower" is a literally translated nickname for the red spider lily, a widely recognizable cultural symbol representing death and the dead
I’ve heard that when tsubaki flowers wilt, rather than the petals scattering the entire flower falls off as one piece, much the same imagery as a severed head.
~In The Band~ (Rin Kagamine X Reader)
Tumblr media
“Ugh I just can’t do it (Y/N).”
You watched as the girl hit her head onto the desk, letting out a long sigh. Her hands sprawled out in front of her and her voice became muffled as she spoke into the cool surface. “I’ll never be able to join the band club.”
“Oh Rin.” You closed the book in your hands, producing a loud ‘thud’ sound and placed it on your own desk. You reached for the smaller girl's hair, twirling the ends around your fingertips in an attempt to reassure her. “You’ll get the guts someday.”
“It’ll be too late then!” She practically threw herself backwards, arms resting behind her head as a pout fell to her lips and her eyes closed shut. “With my luck I wouldn’t have the nerve until graduation day!”
A small laugh escaped your lips at hearing her small tantrum. “Rin, sweetie, you’re a lot stronger than you think.”
She opened one eye, slightly tilting her head. “What is that supposed to mean?”
“I know that you’re worried about rejection but I know how skilled you are. You just have to go for it! I 100% believe that they’ll let you in in a heartbeat. You’ve been practicing that song you wrote, yeah?”
She nodded, leaning forward in her chair so that your faces were slightly closer together.
“You’re a music and lyrical genius Rin. Play them your song and I guarantee you’ll be a part of the club.”
“How can you be so sure?”
There was a slight roll of your eyes before you reached for her hands, grasping them in your own and leaning ever so closer to her. “Because I know you Rin. You can do it.”
You finished off your words with a sweet kiss to her lips. She melted into your touch, an almost purring sound escaping from her lips as her hands moved from your own to instead cup your cheek in her palm. Once you separated from each other, satisfied smiles on your faces she shot herself up out of her seat, a new found passion in her eyes.
“You’re right! I can do this! I’ll see you at lunch, k?”
“Uh, h-hey Rin wait!”
Your hand reached for her arm but your fingers just barely grazed her skin and she was out of your reach. She skipped out the door, pep in her step and a small sigh escaped your lips as you watched her go.
You had faith in her, you knew she could make it in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So how’d it go?”
You followed after the smaller girl, a bright smile on your face as you met up with her in the lunch line. She didn’t respond to you but by the saddened look on her features told you everything you needed to know.
“Oh baby.” You tried to speak in the most reassuring tone you could but it did nothing to cheer her up.
Instead she grabbed a lunch tray from the stack in front of her before handing you one as well. You moved down the line, following closely behind her. She grabbed a sandwich off of the counter in front of her and let out a small sigh. “I’m pathetic. I couldn’t do it.”
You grabbed a sandwich for yourself and hummed as you answered her. “You aren’t pathetic Rin. Now tell me what happened.”
Another sigh escaped her as she grabbed a bowl of salad and placed one on your plate as well, knowing full well what your lunch preference was like. “I just couldn’t do it. I got to the door and they started playing. It was beautiful. I-I can’t compete with that. They’re all so talented and amazing… I just don’t have the talent to be in the band.”
You weaved your way around your fellow students, following after her as she made a dash for the table in the farthest corner. The second you sat your tray down you wrapped her up in your arms, allowing her to bury her face in your shoulder. “It’s okay sweetie, you’ll do it next time. Don’t put yourself down. I hate to hear you talk like this.”
All she did was nod her head at you before muttering. “But I’ve been trying to do this for months now. I just don’t know what else to do…”
A small sigh escaped your lips and you pushed her face away from you, bright smile on your features. “I think I have an idea Rin.”
“You do?”
You grabbed for the fork on her plate and stabbed it into the salad before bringing the fork to her lips, watching as she took a happy bite. “Finish eating your lunch first. I’ll tell you after, okay?”
She nodded, quickly gulping down her food in a mad rush to finish fast. You couldn't help but laugh at her childish antics and slowly eat your food, watching with amused eyes at your adorable girlfriend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your hands were placed delicately over her eyes as you practically pushed her slightly forward towards the classroom door in front of you.
“(Y/N) what is going on?”
She was laughing, her hands resting on top of yours as she tried to pull them off of her face.
“I told you to wait Rin.” You pulled gently on her to get her to stop and giggled to yourself. “You ready?”
She nodded vigorously, excited to see what exactly you had in store for her. You slowly removed your hands from her vision and placed them instead on her shoulder. The smile on her face fell when she saw the door in front of her and turned quickly on her heels, attempting to walk past you. “No, no, no (Y/N) I am not going in there. I told you I can’t do this!”
Your hands tightened around her shoulders in an attempt to get her to calm down. You slightly lowered yourself to meet her eye level and smiled warmly. “Baby listen to me.” Your hand grabbed for her chin, circling your thumb in soothing motions while you spoke to her, voice just above a whisper. “I know you’re scared. I understand how you feel, trust me I really do but,” Your hand moved to grab her cheek, caressing her smooth skin. She knelt into your touch, listening intently to your words of encouragement. “You can’t let your fear control you. You’re the most talented, wonderful and amazing person I’ve ever met. I know that they’ll let you in, no one can outshine you but you have to show them that.”
“(Y/N)...”
You slightly tilted your head and she lunged at you, her arms wrapping themselves tightly around your waist. You hugged her back, your grip on her just as tight as you allowed her to nuzzle her face in your neck. “Thank you… I… I think I’m gonna try.”
She was hesitant to pull herself away from you but once you could see her face, a small smile pulling on her lips you were quick to poke her nose, the sweet smile still on your face. “I promise to be here for you no matter what happens. I’m gonna go wait in the lobby, but I expect to hear from you, alright?”
She nodded in response before giving you a quick peck to your lips, laughing slightly as a blush dusted your cheeks. “I’ll meet you there in a little bit.”
With reluctance she approached the door, her hand falling to the doorknob and you could see her stop, contemplating her actions. She turned once more, eyes locking with yours and you sent her a kiss and a thumbs up. A shaky sigh escaped her throat before she stepped into the classroom and you could no longer see her, the door closing shut with a small click behind her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Excuse me, I’m sorry, uh excuse me I have to get through.”
You slightly lifted your eyes from the book before you as you heard the voice attempting to get closer to you. You could spot Rin squeezing her way through the sea of students leaving the building, their after school activities done and over with. You laughed to yourself as you watched her nearly trip on her own footing and placed the book down beside you, awaiting her arrival with anticipation. You were excited to hear the end results.
When she reached you she jumped, turning herself around and pointed happily at the guitar case on her back. “Guess who’s in!?”
“Rin I’m so proud of you!” You practically jumped up out of your seat to wrap your arms around her in a rather awkward hug. She didn’t seem to mind though and hugged you back as best she could, enjoying the warmth your presence gave. “I told you you could do it.”
You pulled yourself away from her and held onto her shoulders. “Wanna get ice cream or something to celebrate?”
“I can’t. We’ve got practice.”
“Oh…” The smile on your face slightly fell and she laughed before cupping your chin in her hand and tilting your head upwards.
“Chin up love, you’re dating a rock star now.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at her and rolled your eyes. “Alright, alright fine. Go and do your practice. I’ll be here waiting and I’ll walk you home.”
“(Y/N) you don’t have to do that.”
“No but I want to.”
The smile on her face grew. She was quick to slam her lips onto yours, giving you a rather quick yet passionate kiss before resting her forehead on yours. “Thank you (Y/N), for everything.”
“Of course Rin. I do it cause I love you.”
She giggled to herself before pulling away and started off back towards the classroom, walking backwards so she could speak to you still. Her hands shot up in the air, making a heart, “I love you too!”
God you adored her. What did you to deserve a girlfriend like Rin Kagamine?

What the Heart Wants
“Don’t break my heart again, Rin Kagamine.”
— childhood friends, and the art of growing up.
rating: T genre: romance/hurt/comfort/angst ships: rin/len, a sprinkle of miku/kaito words:  3,357
Rin was not much of a party-goer. She preferred the comfort of the couch and TV in her living room, watching sad love stories and stuffing her face with Happy Turn rice crackers. At least there, she could hear her own thoughts.
But Miku was having a party. A special party. A reunion party, of sorts. And as much as she didn’t want to go, she felt obliged to for the sake of their friendship.
So there she was, standing in the corner of the room, hiding behind a glass of lemon chu-hai. It was busy, full of familiar faces she didn’t want to see. She hadn’t even really thought much about what kind of situation she’d landed herself in until a certain blonde boy—man, he’s a man, Rin—came striding into the room like a celebrity guest-appearance on a TV show.
His smile was dazzling, and enough to turn her world upside-down.
Immediately she made a mad dash for Miku, who was standing on the other side of the room, making small talk with some of her guests. Rin ducked behind her like a shield, praying she hadn’t just caught You Know Who’s attention.
“Rin, what are you doing?” Miku asked with a frown, glancing over her shoulder at her.
Rin shushed her. “I’m hiding,” she said.
“Hiding from who?”
“Him.” She hoped she wouldn’t have to drop anymore hints to give away who she was talking about.
Miku gave her a clueless look, before scanning the room. Her gaze fell on Him, the man, and her eyebrows shot up. “Seriously?” she asked, rolling her eyes. “You’re still not over Len?”
Rin puffed out her cheeks. “It’s not that, I’m—”
“Rin,” Miku said, turning to face her. She grabbed her by the shoulders, shaking her lightly. “You know, maybe it’s time you adult up and take initiative. You can’t run away from him forever. And I’m not going to be your bodyguard at my party.” Her tone was firm, unsaid words heard between the lines: And that’s final.
With that, Miku whipped around and strolled off to greet said person.
Rin ducked back behind a pot plant nearby, her heart racing. Easier said than done, she thought with a frown. It was maybe childish of her, in retrospect—but she hadn’t grown up still, even after all these years.
They were childhood friends, after all, and that part of her life was filled with fond memories of him; the kind that spread through her chest with a warm, bubbling sensation. But childhood was long gone, and they’d long grown apart, and Len had changed in more ways than one.
He wasn’t that scrawny little kid anymore.
Rin stared down into her glass, watching as bubbles rose from the bottom, one by one.
It wasn’t always all sunshine and roses. When they’d grown up enough, enough for her to finally realise that oh no, I might kind of like him , that was when their relationship slowly began to change. Like the Earth orbiting the Sun—they were stuck in a gravitational pull, sometimes close, sometimes far, going around in circles. He fell in love with another girl, and that was when she thought:
I can’t do this. I can’t do this anymore.
How it’d hurt her to cut him off and build a wall between them, how it’d tore her apart—how it’d tore him apart. There was this knot of guilt in the pit of her stomach. A knot of guilt as he had grabbed her hand one afternoon and asked, Why? Why have you been so distant?
Rin had never given him an answer.
They hadn’t talked since. It’d been at least five years.
The glass almost went flying from her hand as someone touched her elbow, shaking her from her thoughts. It was Kaito.
Her shoulders sagged with relief.
“Sorry—sorry,” he apologised, noticing he’d startled her. That didn’t stop him from giving her a look of concern. “What are you doing behind the pot plant, Rin?”
Rin’s cheeks burned. “Hiding,” she mumbled.
Kaito quirked an eyebrow. “Why?”
Not giving an answer, she simply led his gaze to Miku and Len chatting idly in the centre of the room.
“Oh.” His lips thinned, eyebrows furrowing, creating a crease in his forehead. “You… still haven’t made amends?”
Rin’s thumb drew patterns in the condensation of her cup. Her eyes were glued to the floor. “No.”
Kaito was a lot more understanding than Miku. Forgiving, somewhat. He was like an older brother, but the nice kind, the kind that you would go to for advice. His gentleness was his whole appeal.
“Maybe you should,” he suggested, his lips curving in somewhat of a hopeful smile. “You know, it’s been a while, Rin. He might… I’m sure he would like to talk to you.”
“I can’t,” she whispered.
He stared at her, waiting for her to continue. Waiting for her to explain why she couldn’t do seemingly the simplest thing in the world.
She kept talking. “I just can’t. It’s so hard. How could I just walk up to him and talk to him like nothing ever happened—it left a hole in me. Maybe it left a hole in him, too.”
Kaito looked back at Len, across the room, chuckling at something Miku said. He frowned in thought. “You don’t have to do that,” he said, reaching up to pat her on the head. “You don’t have to do anything, really. But you shouldn’t hide behind the pot plant all night. Because then nothing will happen at all.”
He pulled his hand away and strolled off, the cold air hitting the top of Rin’s head like a slap to the face.
Slowly, slowly, she took his advice.
.
When Len had spotted her on the couch later that evening, he sauntered over with a guarded expression.
Rin had been staring blankly at the TV screen, considering calling it a night at 9pm, when she sensed his gaze and tore her eyes away to meet his. A chill ran up her spine, and in an attempt not to flee the situation, she downed her entire drink in one go.
She figured she didn’t trust her sober self as much to handle the interaction.
He took a seat near her—leaving enough space for another body to sit in between them, had someone want to—and leant back in the chair, folding one leg up to rest on his thigh. Her hand shook as she put the glass down on the table, and it clattered against the lacquered wood before letting it go.
A silence that was enough to drive any person towards insanity stretched between them. Rin knew he was probably finding the words he wanted to say—calculated, well-rehearsed—he was that kind of person. He never said anything without thinking about it first; especially not in this kind of situation.
Her eyes bore holes into her kneecaps as she waited, and waited, and waited.
Eventually, Len cleared his throat. She almost jumped out of her skin. “So,” he said. “You won’t even say hi to me, Rin?”
Blood pooled to her cheeks as her heart jumped to life in her chest. She wasn’t sure if she was embarrassed or guilt-ridden or terrified, or maybe all at once. Her tongue darted over her lips; they were dry, she felt parched despite downing that whole glass. The music that had been playing in the background the whole time suddenly seemed awfully loud.
“I…” Rin squeaked down at her knees. The words were getting stuck in her throat, choking her up, and she had a sudden urge to hurl over the side of the couch. Placing a hand to her mouth, she swallowed, closed her eyes, and reminded herself to breathe.
His gaze left the side of her face to travel across the room, but he kept talking. “I know you saw me.”
Her fingers curled around the fabric of her dress with a tremble. Tonight, she’d tried for something a little more ambitious, a little more mature; the dress was short and flowy, yellow and floral-lace, it sat high at the base of her neck but dipped down her back, exposing smooth, white skin.
But around Len, she simply felt like a little girl dressed up in her mother’s clothes.
“I… was waiting for you to say something first,” she rasped out, the words finally untangling from her tongue.
Len’s eyes went back to her. His mouth opened, closed, opened again—the gears were turning in his mind, typing out a script on a typewriter, perfecting every sentence. Finally, he settled for a, “Huh.”
Rin slowly lifted her gaze to meet his. His eyes were a dark, stormy blue; they always had been. Mischievous, mysterious, there was always this glint to them, something so familiarly Len. His fingers drummed against the backrest of the couch, playing out some secret melody—perhaps it was a song he played on piano. He liked piano.
Len swept a stray hair away from his face. “It’s been a while since we last talked, Rin,” he said, eyes flickering between her face and the rest of the room. He reached for his drink on the coffee table in front of them and took a sip, before continuing, “Missed ya.”
Heat climbed to her face, and she looked at her own empty glass on the table, willing for it to fill up. “Yeah,” she breathed, unsure if she’d just heard him right.
“Has life been treating you well?” he asked, casual, but she could tell in his mind he was trying to plot a path to lead the conversation somewhere she didn’t want it to go.
Rin traced out the patterns on her sleeve with a finger; following the stem, a leaf, the flower petals… counting them, five… six… “It’s…” Her mouth was as dry as a wall. She swallowed. “It’s… yeah. Good, I guess.”
If Len had noticed how nervous she was, he wasn’t letting on. “That’s nice.”
The silence that followed reminded her of her table manners. “Erm, how—how about you?”
His lips curved, the beginnings of a smile, and his eyes were now focussed on the TV screen. Some romcom was playing. Not that it really mattered—the volume was muted. “It’s been okay. Work is okay. Busy. Could be paid more, but I guess I’ll never really make big money as a composer, hey?”
That reminded her. She didn’t really know what he went on to study in university. Music, huh, she thought. It was a surprise that even his parents had let him go into such a field.
“I do tutoring on the side, with kids, too,” he added, a wistfulness to his gaze. “It’s a bit of extra pocket money, at least.”
Rin eased back into the couch. “I’m happy to hear you’re… doing something you love.”
“Hmm.” His lips thinned out. “What about you? Go on to be an English major?”
Probably that was what she had told him, the last time they’d talked. They were still in high school. Young. Full of hope. She shook her head, hair bouncing with the movements. “No. I’m just… an office worker. I work for the advertising department of a record label.”
Len raised an eyebrow. “It’s a pity,” he said. “I thought you would be a good teacher.”
She laughed in an exhale. The thought seemed absurd now. She didn’t need to tell him that, though.
“So.” He was staring up at the ceiling now. His fingers were still drumming. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down in his throat. Rin could just about predict what was coming next. “So… why did you stop talking to me all those years ago, Rin?”
She could predict it, but she still didn’t know how she would even answer it. That guilty rock returned; sinking down heavy inside of her, weighing her down. The blood in her ears was loud, rushing, almost drowning out the sound of the party around them.
Somewhere, somehow, her mouth started moving, words spilling out like a pot that’d overboiled. “It’s not that I… it wasn’t… I didn’t mean to…” She took a breath, trying to steady the pounding of her heart. “It’s just… so hard to say.”
Len frowned, not satisfied with her answer. “It’s hard to say,” he echoed, in a tone that showed he didn’t believe in those words as much as he didn’t believe in ghosts. “What, you can’t even tell me what I did to piss you off so bad that you wouldn’t talk to me anymore?”
His question sliced through her like a knife, and she winced. Her arms went to wrap around herself, she curled in, like a turtle retreating into its shell. “It’s not even… that,” she mumbled down to her knees. She felt so pathetic. “You didn’t do anything. It was just… me.”
He blinked at her, not quite comprehending that maybe—possibly—after all these years, after all these years of conjuring up some explanation in his head as to why she suddenly hated him, maybe it wasn’t because he had done anything wrong. “Huh,” he said, and this time, it wasn’t a calculated response.
“I’m just…” Rin hovered, choosing her next words carefully. She smiled at her empty glass on the table, but it was secretly a grimace. “I was just a scared, little girl. Scared of a broken heart.” And I still am.
Len was silent, processing her words. She needed another drink if this conversation was going to carry on. She reached for her glass and stood, not looking at his face. “I’m going to the bar. You want anything?”
He shook his head. She left him sitting. She did everything within her power, this time, to not run away.
When she returned to take a seat with another glass of chu-hai, Len’s hand lashed out, snapping up her wrist in a firm, yet gentle grasp. He pulled her down beside him, closer, maybe a little too close for comfort.
He smelt of cologne and alcohol and aftershave, and something familiar, something that made her only think, Len.
His warm body pressed against hers; she forced herself to sit on the edge of the couch, rather than relax into the empty space right next to him. His expression was unreadable, she couldn’t tell what he was thinking. He dragged a thumb down the back of her arm, pressing flat in the soft space of her elbow.
No amount of willpower could stop the ripple of goosebumps from breaking out over her skin.
“Rin,” he murmured. “If you were scared of a broken heart, then why did you break mine?”
His question hit her like an avalanche. She sat, facing away from him, her hand still clutching at her drink like a lifeline. What do you mean, what do you mean, she wanted to ask, but even she knew that was a foolish question. She knew what he meant.
Rin placed her drink down on the table next to his, looked back over her shoulder at him. He was slouched back, staring up at her from under dark lashes. A sad smile slowly rose to his lips, dumping a bucket of ice-water over her shoulders.
“Because I was selfish,” she answered him with truth, sounding awfully confident despite the doubt that clouded her mind. Her heart thudded against her rib cage. “I was selfish, only thinking of me, and not you.”
Len sat up, shoulder brushing hers. “You just didn’t think to talk to me about it?” he asked. “Didn’t think to ever reach out and—clear the air, or anything.” His hand fluttered out in front of him, demonstrating the act.
Her heart hurt. Her whole chest hurt, actually. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, looking away. “I’m sorry.”
Hot tears stung her eyes. She didn’t even understand why she had to cry. She was the fool, here. She had no reason to.
Len’s hand reached for hers—it was large, warm and clammy, wrapped around her own like a blanket. “Rin,” he said, his hot breath hitting the skin of her bare shoulders. “Look at me.”
She shook her head, no. It was embarrassing, shameless, ridiculous. She wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
His hand went to her thigh as he moved further forward. Before she could even comprehend a single thing he was doing, she felt his lips brush her cheek.
Rin turned to look at him, shocked.
Len hovered near her face, lips twitching upwards. “Don’t break my heart again, Rin Kagamine.”
In one, swift movement, he had her pushed back against the couch; one hand caressing her face, the other resting on her waist. She didn’t hesitate, didn’t fight back. She knew what she wanted. She knew what he wanted.
His lips grazed hers, and the contact almost seared her skin. As he went to pull away, she reached out and pulled him back by the collar, faces colliding. I won’t let you go this time.
Her arms wrapped around his shoulders. They’d grown broader, stronger, with all the time that had passed. A lonely ache filled her chest. With all the time that had passed she spent running away—she could’ve just… been honest?
If she had confessed her feelings to him all those years ago, before drifting apart, would it have changed anything?
Yes, she thought. I still needed to grow.
I still needed to grow up.
Across the room, a weary Miku and proud Kaito watched the pair as they did the tongue tango. Miku reached up to link her arm with her blue-haired companion, the remnants of a smile on her lips.
He leant into her. “This wasn’t really on the agenda, was it?” he asked in a low voice.
“No,” she admitted. “But I’ll gladly take credit for it.”
“You know, he was hanging out for her all these years—and despite knowing that, I’m still surprised.”
Miku chuckled. “I expected a make up. But a make out? No.”
Kaito grinned, shifting his gaze to the girl beside him. She was glowing still, always glowing, and he was sure it wasn’t the highlighter she used. “You think we could, uh, maybe follow suit?”
Her hand skated down his arm, before floating up to pinch his cheek somewhat affectionately. The lights in her eyes danced, laughing. “Get a few more drinks in me, sweetie, before you start dropping the pick-up lines.”
Then she strutted off, and he sighed, defeated.
The heart wants what it wants.

.
(epilogue):
They’d sat on that couch kissing for hours until Miku kicked them out at ten to midnight, telling them to go home with a triumphant expression.
Now they walked down the street toward the station, hand-in-hand, not entirely drunk but enough on the way there that the humid midsummer night didn’t bother them. Rin pressed her cheek against his shoulder; a while ago, maybe it would’ve been the other way around.
“I was a bit of a jerk, admittedly,” Len said.
She lifted her head to scan the side of his face. He stared ahead. She wondered what he was going on about.
“Leading you on, and then dating other girls.” He glanced down at her. “I couldn’t be mad at you, not entirely, for distancing yourself.”
Rin stared at him a moment longer, before lowering her gaze to the curb. “I hated doing it,” she mumbled into his sleeve. “But I told myself at the time it was the best thing to do.”
Len smiled. “We were both kids,” he said, slowing his pace. They stopped near the entrance to the subway station, as if there were a barrier keeping them from going any further. “We didn’t know what we were doing.”
“Mm-hmm.”
He leant down to steal another kiss from her lips; soft, longing. His eyes were filled with something odd, she hadn’t really seen before. Affection?
“My place?” he murmured against her mouth.
“Yeah,” she breathed. Her heart fluttered with child-like excitement.
They kept going, eager to make up for the time they'd lost.

My Dreams
SO, I had not one, but TWO amazing dreams yesterday and today.
The first is that Cars 4 was out and I was watching it, but I didn’t see Lightning or other characters, only Jackson Storm and Gale Beaufort and for some reason Jackson was sad and Gale was cheering him up (Sorry if I writed it wrong, english is not my first languaje) and in a part of the dream, there was a racing simulator that had the image of someone crashing in a wall, but it was paused maybe for some reason and later, Jackson maybe was a veteran and the dream ends with Jackson changing his tires...
The second one was (I had it today) that I was in a Hatsune Miku concert, something like a Miku Expo or a Magical Mirai. The place of the concert was HUGE, maybe something like the Magical Mirai 2018 size, but WAY bigger. I and my classmates were sat down in a place a little bit far of the scenary, and we could watch the scenary. Miku and Luka were singing Tsumugi Uta (That is a Kagamine Rin and Len song). I was screaming the lyrics of the song and some of my classmates was looking me with a face something like...
 “What the hell happens with her???” xD.
I wished that dreams never ended so fast.

Broken Juliet Chapter 1
Author’s Note: Hello, beautiful people! May I present to you the prequel to my Vocaloid fanfic Blood Rose! It’s not necessary to read BR before reading this, but there will be some world building lacking as a result. Not a lot, so you should be fine.
This novella follows one of the characters, Rin, living through the events that lead her to where she is at the start of Blood Rose. Rin seems to be everyone’s favorite character in the main fic. Now it’s time to learn how she became the person she is in that novel.
Broken Juliet is Rin’s story, and it isn’t a happy one.
Trigger warnings for physical abuse and character death.
I do not own Vocaloid in any way, shape, or form. This fanfic purely exists for non-profit entertainment purposes. Enjoy!
Scrunching up her face, sixteen-year-old Kagamine Rin studied the cabbage. After deeming it satisfactory, she added it and others of similar quality to her basket. She also picked up a few turnips and walked to the counter to make her purchase.
"Will that be all?" asked the clerk, a look of disinterest on his face. Rin nodded to answer. When the clerk totaled the costs, he told Rin, "That will be thirteen coin."
"Thirteen?!" Rin exclaimed. "I spoke with Aoki Merli earlier today, and she told me she paid less than half for the same things I'm getting."
"Yes," the clerk agreed, "but Aoki Merli is an Alice."
Rin grit her teeth. "Are you truly going to discriminate against me like this?"
"I need to make sales one way or another. Now either pay seventeen coin, or get out of here."
"It's seventeen coin now?"
"Twenty since you insist in arguing with me."
Jaw clenched, Rin stared at the man for more than a moment. What she wanted to do was walk away without making the purchase. It's what she would have done if she wasn't required to get everything on her shopping list. Rin had to get the items regardless of their price. The clerk knew it as well as she did.
Without a word, Rin slammed the twenty coins onto the counter, picked up her basket, spun on her heel, and walked out of the shop. She covered her eyes and squinted at the sunlight as she stepped outside and waited for her eyes to adjust before she continued with her errands. There was barely enough coin now to buy a new cloth pattern, but perhaps Ms. Yuezheng would feel generous and offer Rin half a pattern now and the rest when Rin could afford it.
Rin kicked up the dirt road as she went. The wooden shacks dotted the town, and many of the villagers walked on foot from business to business, either running errands like Rin or moving to the next job. Laughter and chatter filled the warming air. The boys and Alice girls played outside of the schoolhouse, making the most of their recess. Women gossiped over their bread and cheese as they sat under their tent, their sowing left unattended for now.
Just the sight of the bread alone made Rin's stomach growl with earnest. Before Rin bought the produce, she had hoped to use the leftover coin to buy a pork bun for her first meal of the day, but now she would have to wait till she cooked dinner that evening to taste even a morsel. With a heavy sigh, Rin kept marching to her next destination.
"Rin!"
Freezing at the shout of her name, Rin slowly turned around to see Mr. Chris waving her over. She didn't want to think about what the gruff blacksmith wanted with her, but she approached anyway. The last thing she needed was another complaint filed against her reaching her father.
Yet Mr. Chris, a tall man with black skin who was mostly muscle and had an ugly scar disfiguring the right side of his face, didn't seem upset at Rin for whatever reason that had been dreamed up since the last time someone, namely Luki, wanted to cause her trouble. Instead he looked to be displeased with the young man by his side. The young man shifted from foot to foot, seemingly more out of energetic restlessness than concern over this big man glaring at him.
"Yes, sir?" Rin questioned, switching her basket to her other arm.
Mr. Chris, whose arms were crossed, used his chin to point at the other guy. "This lad here is looking for your father's farm. Your father's still looking for more helping hands, right?"
"Yes, sir." Rin turned her attention to the young man by Mr. Chris's side. He was a tall, skinny fellow who looked more like a scarecrow than a person. Unless he was applying to scare birds and other pests away from the vegetation, she doubted he would get the job. The poor soul didn't look as if he could hold a rake he was so thin.
"Then he can follow you home." With that, Mr. Chris waved his hand in the air as if wiping off an item on his to-do list. He turned away, and that was the end of the exchange.
The young man turned to Rin and grinned, and she used the opportunity to study him a little more. He had olive skin, dirty blond hair that stuck out in every which way, and golden eyes. His clothes fit far too loosely, giving away just how gawky he was. Nothing about this man made him appear qualified to work on her father's farm. She was never going to see him again.
"Nice to meet ya!" the young man greeted, sounding far too cheerful, as he and Rin walked away from the blacksmith's shop. "Name's Akita Nero. You are?"
He doesn't know what I am then. Okay, good. It's been a long while since I had decent conversation with a stranger.
"Kagamine Rin," she told him. Nero held out his hand, and Rin hesitated a moment before taking it. After Nero gave her hand a firm shake, Rin pulled away and asked, "Where are you from?"
"Tangerice," he answered.
"Isn't that village far from here?"
"Only by twenty miles. I was looking for work when Kagamine Leon's want ad reached the border of town. When I caught wind of it, I grabbed my purse and came straight here."
"Did you walk the whole way?"
"Yep. Stopped last night to rest, then woke up before dawn to finish the journey."
Not sure what to make of Nero's chirpy attitude, Rin said, "Well, your journey is nearly over. The farm is a twenty-minute walk from here. Follow me and—"
"Pardon the interruption," Nero cut in, "but were ya running errands when that scary man called ya over?"
"I can do them later. It's really no trouble."
"Nah, finish them now," Nero replied. "I don't mind the wait. Ya said it's only a twenty-minute walk from here? That's nothing! Ya do what ya need to do before we head that way."
Rin wanted to argue, but she knew arguing wouldn't end well if he saw her left wrist. Even if he really was kind enough to insist Rin finish her errands first, she still didn't want to risk it. Of course, this man was new to town and likely wouldn't stay after not getting the job. Never seeing him after this interaction motivated her to be a little careless in conversation. Although she knew better, Rin held her left arm in a way to hide her exposed wrist as she gave in.
Working quickly in case Nero lacked patience, Rin dropped off her letters at the church before Pastor Fukase knew she stopped by and visited Ms. Yuezheng's shop to buy, to her relief, half a cloth pattern. Rin folded the cloth and stepped outside the tent. When she didn't see Nero, Rin looked around and tried to swallow her heart.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to ditch ya," Nero suddenly called out, causing Rin to jump. A pork bun in each hand, he explained, "I smelt something good and thought I'd give it a try."
Rin looked at his hands and asked before she realized her mouth was open, "You're going to eat two?" She couldn't even afford one. There was nothing left in her coin purse.
That was why it surprised Rin when Nero held a hand out and answered, "Actually, I bought one for ya, as a thanks for taking me to your father's farm. Well, I know we're not there yet, but we will be soon so I guess an early payment isn't too big a deal. Unless ya aren't hungry?"
Feeling her stomach tie itself into knots at the sight of the very thing she wanted for lunch being offered to her, Rin greatly desired to accept the pork bun. Yet she didn't trust this man, and she especially didn't trust his kindness.
"I did already eat, but thank you regardless," she said, her stomach tightening so hard it hurt. It was as if her body punished her for refusing the food she badly needed. Rin reminded her stomach it was better to starve in safety than to feast in beatings.
Nero shrugged before biting into the first pork bun. The sight too painful to watch, Rin turned away and told him that she was done with her errands and they would be going to her father's farm now. He followed close behind, finishing the first pork bun and then eating the second.
After he had devoured both pork buns, Nero began conversing with Rin. "So, what do ya grow on the farm? What kind of help does your pa need?"
"We need help picking our cherry trees and also preparing the soil to plant butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins. Maintain the crops all through summer, and then harvest in autumn just in time for the Celebration of Colors."
Nero nodded along as Rin spoke. He didn't ask about wages or if housing was provided. Instead he asked, "Will I get to see more of ya if I get a position?"
Cheeks heating up, Rin answered Nero's question with one of her own. "Why are you asking something so insane?"
"Is it insane to want to spend more time with ya and get to know ya?"
So he hadn't seen her tattoo yet after all, and Rin didn't help the situation by keeping it hidden against her body. However, she really wanted to talk to someone who saw her as another person too much to be more rational. "You're being too forward, Mr. Akita."
"Please, call me Nero, and I apologize if it seems I'm being forward. It's only that you're the first person I met in this town – well, not including the blacksmith – and I would like to think we could be good friends if given the opportunity."
"You don't want to be friends with me." Rin regretted saying the words, but she didn't doubt their truth.
Nero didn't ask why Rin thought that, however. What he said was, "I think I should at least get to know ya before deciding whether or not I want to be friends with ya. Does Mistress Kagamine not wish to be friends with me?"
"I'm no mistress. Just Rin is more than fine."
"Okay, does Just Rin not wish to be friends with me?"
Despite herself, Rin snorted. "You are persistent."
"Ya haven't answered my question."
"Very well. Like you, I would need to get to know you before I can decide whether or not I want to be friends with you."
"And will there be opportunities for us to get to know each other?"
"I fail to see why this is so important to you."
"Perhaps this is important to me because I think you're interesting."
"Interesting?" Rin looked at Nero from the corner of her eye to see him smiling widely at her.
"I know first impressions don't tell a lot about a person," he began, "but my first impression of ya when the blacksmith called ya over was how pretty ya are."
Rin ducked her head down. If her burning cheeks was an indication, she didn't want Nero seeing her blush.
"Next was you seemed rather passive," Nero continued, either ignoring or oblivious to her turned away face. "Now, as it's only the two of us around, ya seem rather outspoken. Interesting indeed. I'm curious to know if you're strong-willed or without agency, and if the former, why ya pretend otherwise with an audience."
He still hasn't figured it out yet. "And if you get your answer," Rin replied, "what then?"
"I would like to find out if my other impressions are correct."
"Other impressions?"
"Calm, level-headed, easily fed up with the likes of me—"
"I'll tell you now that last one is correct," Rin stated, laughing. She then slammed her jaw shut.
However, Nero didn't seem offended. He simply laughed as well and added, "Blunt, too. I can respect that."
"Most people don't. They like to be told what they want to hear."
"Not me."
"What if you don't like what you hear?"
"If I'm going to take offense at every comment that doesn't agree with me, then I'm too emotionally immature to have valid arguments and opinions."
As her cheeks no longer felt flushed, Rin turned her attention back to the young man. He was smarter than he looked, that much was now evident. Yet there was still a skip to his step, his arms swinging carefree by his sides. There didn't seem to be any burdens of life on his shoulders. Either that, or he carried them well.
"I think you're the interesting one here, Mr. Nero," Rin slowly replied, looking away again.
"Is that a compliment or an insult?"
"I'll leave that for you to decide." Before Nero could reply, Rin announced, "We're here."
"Thank ya again for guiding me," Nero said as they stopped. He moved to stand in front of Rin, reached out, and took her free right hand. "I hope this won't be the last time I see ya."
Rin didn't expect Nero to kiss the back of her hand, that was why she was too stunned to yank it out of his grasp. He smiled as he dropped it soon after. If nobody had seen it, that would have been the end.
Only somebody did see.
And that wasn't the end.
What was meant to be a simple expression of gratitude was going to be a crime for which Rin would be punished.
It was from the corner of her eye Rin saw him coming. She jumped away from Nero, her heartrate shooting up. Pointing out the approaching man, Rin told Nero that the newcomer was her father.
Kagamine Leon glared at his daughter as he grew closer. Yet when he was within earshot, he called out, "Greetings, young man! What is your business here?"
"Greetings, Mr. Kagamine!" Nero returned, grinning the way he did at Rin back in town. "I'm Akita Nero from Tangerice. I saw your want ad and immediately was on my way. Tell me, do ya still need a hand?"
Looking Nero up and down, Leon clearly had the same initial thoughts Rin had. However, he couldn't deny Nero employment without first seeing what the young man had to offer. It was a law that never worked in Rin's favor, but perhaps it would give Nero a chance.
"Go inside the house and begin your chores," Leon told his daughter. Nero couldn't see it, but Rin could and did.
Rin forced herself to swallow. "Yes, father."
As she treaded to the house, she heard her father tell Nero, "I'm so sorry Rin had to be the first you met here. I promise, employment here won't be a shame for you to bear. My daughter is the only Juliet on this farm."
Not hearing Nero's reaction nor wanting to hear it, Rin kept marching forward. Now that Nero knew, he would be repulsed and wonder why he didn't seek out the blood rose tattoo on her left wrist sooner. That's how the story always ended for Rin's potential friends.
And that, Nero, is why you don't want to be friends with me, Rin silently told the young man as she walked farther and farther away from the first and last taste of kindness from a stranger she experienced in a long, long time.

Len Kagamine X Fan!Reader -Part 1-
Request from an internet friend~
How about a Len Kagamine, from Vocaloid, and I'm his biggest fan that shows up to all concerts/fan meets but isn’t weird and or creepy, please?
Word Count: 2,187
Category: Vocaloid
~My Idol~
Tumblr media
Your hands shook as you held one of the smallest yet most significant pieces of paper. A VIP ticket to your all-time favorite band, Vocaloid. Which included backstage passes, spending time with the whole band, and a short date with your favorite band member. You didn't obsess over them. But you loved them. They helped you get through your life, through thick and thin with their motivational songs and heart-wrenching lyrics. You owed a lot to them. This was your once in a lifetime ticket to finally thank them for all they had done for you. The only problem was...
How are you going to get to Japan?
You lived in (C/n). You couldn't possibly round up enough money to get a round trip plane pass by the time the date was set. And like that you're hopes to meet them were crushed. You would never be able to meet them you looked back to the box you had taken the small card from. Had they given you a ticket?
Setting the ticket down carefully, like it was your newborn baby, you searched the box carefully for anything in the stuffing.
Aha!
You're (Pale/Tanned/Black/etc) skin brushed against something and as you pulled it out your eyes widened. In big black and build letter read:
ROUND TRIP TICKET
(YOU'RE COUNTRY & CAPITAL)
TOKYO, JAPAN
Tears almost began filling your eyes as your dreams were refilled like a big yellow balloon at a birthday party. Your life was saved! Setting the ticket down next to the VIP pass an envelope dropped. Picking it up your eyes scanned the envelope, discovering it looked exactly the same as the envelope which you found your VIP ticket in.
Slowly opening the envelope you pulled out...Another VIP ticket? It looked the same, but instead, it was silver instead of a platinum gold. Even so, it still shined as brightly.
You carefully read the written contents to find out, by some miracle you could bring a friend. They would be able to go backstage with you and spend some time with the band. The only downside was they didn't get to go on a date, but rather choose a band member to give them a bouquet.
You instantly knew who was going to go with you on this special occasion. (BF/n). It was an obvious choice and you knew if you didn't pick them nobody else would go with. You were both Vocaloid fanatics, though you knew she was a bit more crazy.
You thought of yourself as an average lover of Vocaloid. You didn't go crazy and rarely told anybody you loved Vocaloid. But deep down maybe you were a bit crazy though. Maybe, because of that one special person in the group...
Len...
Len Kagamine...
The way he beautifully sang from the depths of his heart. Whether it be an emotionally heart-wrenching or a hope-filled song, you were always brought to tears by his depth. He was your all-time favorite, and what you wouldn't do to meet him just once and tell him from the bottom of your heart just how much you felt about his music.
How lucky you were to be given this chance.
~*~*~*~
Your feet made the littlest bit of noise on the hot concrete as you raced with a big smile on your face to your best friends house. Sprinting up to the doors you almost couldn't contain your excitement as you knocked in the dark wood door a bit too hard.
It was opened almost instantly, by your best friend. You're words almost stumbled over each other, still panting from your quick run. They stopped you a bit confused.
"Take it slow, tell me what happened."
"Len...VIP ticket...Vocaloid," you panted out. "Come with me?"
You're friends excited (E/c) eyes widened. Their arms wrapped around you and squeezed you. Hard.
They realized this as your face turned a light hue of blue. Setting you down they apologized immediately.
"Sorry, it's just are we really going!?"
"Yes, but you didn't answer my question," you repeated it. "Coming with me?"
"Of course!" They almost screamed in happiness. "Now when are we going?"
"Two days..."
~*~*~*~
You and (BF/n) had packed together the whole rest of the day. The plane was scheduled for the early hours of tomorrow so you two slept earlier than normal. It would take (**) hours, so you prepared to be energized for the trip there.
Rising early in the morning you both were ready and set. Taking a quick cab there you both boarded. And as you both sat down looking out of the window at the sky you couldn't help but sort of shut down and really think.
You were given the chance of meeting the one person in the world you never thought would ever know you even existed. Your heart clenched just imagining the shining face of your beloved idol telling you hello and welcoming you to the rest of the band. It was like a fairy tale. Even if you only had two days to spend in Japan. You would make the most of it.
You only hoped that he would be as happy to see you.
~*~*~*~
"Hurry! We don't have much time!" (BF/n) yelled taking a hold of your left wrist. In your right hand, you clutched the tickets close to your chest as not to lose them.
You had both woken up a bit late and were know hurriedly running to the ginormous building that held the concert after hauling a cab on the crowded streets.
You passed a few people who either gave you confused and/or knowing smiles making you blush at the unwanted attention.
Arriving at the gate you were escorted by two head bodyguards to a slightly hidden door to the side. Going through it you were both walking through a long winding hallway. As you went through you read the permanent nameplates:
-MIKU-
-KAITO-
-GAKUPO-
-RIN-
-LEN-
Your body almost stopped in surprise at seeing Len's dressing room. You almost thought of yourself as a pervert for a second, thinking about Len getting undressed in that very room. Shaking away the thought you trailed behind the bodyguards until they got to a door labeled:
-BACKSTAGE-
You tried to even your breathing as (BF/n) took a hold of your (Smooth/Rough/etc) hand on their own. You turned your head to them and smiled as they offered a reassuring smile.
The door opened and your breath caught in your throat at the sight.
Disregarding the few select others that also received VIP tickets who were talking to their respective idols your eyes trailed to the one person your heart beat the fastest for.
His back was to you, but you knew it was him instantly. His hair was in the usual short ponytail, the yellow of his hair bright and radiant like the sun itself. Maybe it was an exaggeration, but he was practically beauty.
He raised his head up, almost as if he knew someone was looking at him and turned towards you two. You're eyes met and locked instantly. A blush raised to your cheeks as he offered a small smile and approached you.
"You must be (L/n)-san, correct?" He bowed low in greeting. You did the same, a bit nervously. Raising up he continued, holding his hand out to you. "It's nice to meet you, miss. My names Len Kagamine."
Such a gentleman, you thought.
You took his hand in yours, and you noticed how soft and warm it was. But unfortunately, you had to let go. You took notice of his clothes. You instantly knew he was going to sing 'Remote Control', meaning he would be joined by Rin.
"Likewise,"you're replied shyly. "But," you started,"how do you know my name?"
He emitted a small chuckle at your question as he answered, "You're the last ones to arrive." Your blush deepens.
The last ones?
"Sorry, did we keep you waiting long?" You ask worriedly. "We tried to be as quick as possible..."
He waved his hand, brushing it off. "No, no. You're right on time actually."
You breathed out a silent sigh of relief at his words. "Thank god. We wouldn't want to keep you waiting."
"Ya," (BF/n) joined in. "that would make us look horrible."
Len nodded as he looked at the other members. He turned back to you with a grin. "It seems we'll be starting in a few minutes. Do you think you'll be able to pick you Vocaloid member?"
Your eyes squinted a bit in confusion, but after a second you understand what he was trying to ask. You nodded. "I see, but I don't know who's been taken..."
Len nodded in understanding. "Well everybody has been taken except for (Your Choice) and me. You can both decide which one of us you would like. Be careful of your choice," he said. You looked at him noticing he was looking at you expectantly.
"Yes, we'll be careful."
"Oh!" his blue orbs widen in realization. "Can you help me with something?"
"Um, sure." before you could say goodbye to your best friend he had taken hold of your wrist and had taken you to a table that held a variety of cosmetics and other small accessories.
"You would think that after all this time I would be able to do it myself, but unfortunately no," he mumbled in disappointment.Did he hold up a box with...contacts? "Can you help me put these in?"
"Of course," you replied as you took the box. "But what if I hurt you?"
"I'm sure you won't," he reassured you. "I trust you."
Sitting down in the nearest chair he got into position as he raised his head up. "This alright?" he asked.
"Yes, perfect," you said.
Taking one contact out you put your other hand on his shoulder to keep him from moving him. Though honestly, it might be to help you to not shake and be stable. You lowered it onto his eyes carefully. You set it down and quickly retracted your arms as he blinked rapidly getting used to it. You did the other the same exact way taking notice of the way his even breathing almost sped up the closer you got to him. Finishing the job quickly and without error, you were extremely happy you didn't hurt him at all.
He quickly stood up and caught you by surprise by giving you a hug. You were hesitant, but eventually, you hugged him back as you secretly were screaming on the inside your mind.
He let go after a bit, beaming down at you. You looked up seeing his eyes a vibrant green with a lighter green plus sign. It perfectly matched his outfit. Yoh almost which you had beautiful eyes like Len or even just his fake contacts instead of your own (E/c) orbs. But dismissed it.
"Thank you so much. My sister, Rin, is busy getting dressed so you do this for me instead was a big help," he gushed still beaming down at you.
You simply gave him a small smile as you waved your hand in their hair, dismissing your help as a mere kindness. "No need to thank me, it was a pleasure helping you."
He nodded but frowned as you both heard the cheering get louder, signaling the beginning of the long-awaited concert.
"Seems you have to go," you silently sighed hoping you had got more time to speak with him. You hadn't yet thanked him or anything.
He nodded,"Yes, being me is quite a hassle. I hope to see you front row in the audience, I'll wave to you?"
You nodded at his friendly suggestion. "I would like that."
Nodding Len turned and began walking towards the entryway to the stage, unwrinkling his outfit along the way.
Your hands started to fidget as they clasped together. You stood there as you built up the courage to talk to him and just as he was beginning to put on the head here to sing you desperately called out for him, hoping he could hear you over the shouts of thousands of fangirls.
"Len!"
He turned to you confusion and relief on his face.
"Is," you started shakily. "Is it alright if you could be my idol?"
A few seconds to you felt like years and when he finally offered a big smile and a final nod before going onstage to greet his fans you let out a big breath of air you had unintentionally held in. You couldn't believe your own words even as they had flown out of your mouth.
You asked Len.
And he said yes...
Len was your Idol.
What did you get yourself into?
