HOWDY FOLKS I've not drawn very much as of late since. uhhhh. SEVERAL things happened. but one of them is because i went to a miniature painting convention this past weekend!

it was super fun! here's a couple minis i painted-- first one was just for fun and i want to make her into a character now, second one i did in a class on painting with limited palettes! i did that with only three different colors of paint!

Life sure likes it's little jokes some times

During my last year of college, I got some books for free. One of them was a coffee-table book I'd been helping to copy-edit during an internship with a publisher, and the other three were nonfiction books they'd previously released that I thought looked interesting, including one about sewing. All of them were put on my shelf and then promptly forgotten about.

Flash forward ten years, and I'm finally learning how to sew, something I've been idly meaning to do since I was like 15. I'm on reddit looking for fitting advice, and there's this one book I see mentioned frequently. I ignore it for a while, because I'm mostly looking for free articles and youtube videos, but eventually I get curious and look up the book, and--

I have that book. It's sitting on my shelf in between those other books I haven't touched in almost a decade. It's the same book. The book that keeps getting recommended. The book I was just thinking of buying. I already own it. I got it for free ten years before I knew I wanted it.

hi anna!!! since i ended up telling you about two of my favorite stories in a post already, i am going to tell you what my favorite sherlock & co stories have been so far :)

the golden pince-nez is still one of my favorites for the iconic "give the heavenly father my best quote" and just the atmosphere overall. like the music in the church scenes and the echoes and the way everything just felt so vivid even though it's a podcast was just, wow. the mystery itself was great too!!!

i've not read this one yet so idk how accurate it was, but i was captivated the whole time!

i also really liked silver blaze as well!!! the inclusion of the radio commentary on the horse race and the mystery itself was so so so so so so cool and i really enjoyed the sherlock and john dynamic throughout the whole episode. i loved john telling sherlock and john bickering about looking at the body before the police got there was <3 and i love that john got to have his medical moment while looking over the body!!!!

i read this one ten years ago when i first got into sherlock holmes so i don't remember much but the mystery was so so so so so good!!!
