“Mike’s life started the day they found El in the woods!”
But why is that the truth, and:
“It was the BEST thing I’ve EVER done”
isn’t?
Mike has no reason to lie to Will. He is oblivious to his feelings, and wouldn’t logically have a way to actually know about Will’s sexuality at all. He doesn’t have to provide him with a sense of reassurance because he doesn’t know Will loves him. It doesn’t make sense for him to lie to him during his s2 monologue or in the van in s4.
But for El, lying is one of the most logical explanations of why the s4 monologue was presented the way it was. He had a reason to lie to her, more than one actually.
This is quite literally a life or death situation, not just for El. Max is being Venca’d in that very moment, and Mike thinks that El would be moved and motivated by him reassuring her. He also obviously is aware of her feelings for him, so he needs to incorporate and in-force, “I love you!” (Hence why he says it nine different times.)
But compare this to the s2 monologue to Will. The major differences are already there and obvious, but the fact that you can HEAR the absolute genuineness and truthfulness in Mike’s voice.
It WAS the best thing he’s ever done.
Even after he found El in the woods, took her in, befriended her, KISSED her, supposedly cares about and is afraid of losing more; meeting and asking Will to be his friend is still the BEST thing he’s ever done.
Also like to bring up the van scene, and how much it directly contrasts the s4 monologue.
It’s NOT fate, it’s NOT destiny, it’s just simple, dumb luck.
He’s just some random nerd that got lucky that SUPERMAN landed on his doorstep.
And he is telling the truth. Yet he tells El different. Why would he lie to Will? He has NO reason to.
If him and Will are just “good friends” WHY would he feel the need to conceal the truth from him? He isn’t.
Do you remember the first day that we met?

unrelated to my previous manga complaints, but do you ever like read a romance and just find yourself completely uninterested in all the side characters but the mangaka clearly really likes the side characters to the point where the secondary romance becomes just as prevalent as the main characters and actually cuz the main characters have gotten together now the rest of the manga is just going to be brief snippets of fluff for them and then chapters of dedication to the second ship getting together but you dont even care about the secondary characters so you just like skip all of it????

Look I can forgive almost every one of Tim’s many, many, many flaws. But Tim Drake’s real problem is that he’s the Robin with no sense of fashion when it comes to shoes. Dick and Jason had the iconic pixie boots. Damian had those cool knee high lace boot things. Meanwhile tim just has like boots or something smh
Tims not the only one official best robin Stephanie Brown also only wears simple black boats with her robin costume are you saying she has bad taste in shoes
