You try the whole "dating" thing. Soap doesn't quite like that, and it shows. (4,4k)

If you'd known how much of a fuss it would be, you wouldn't even tell him. Hell, you wouldn't even think about telling him, you'd just describe it as a simple meeting with an old friend, and he'd know everything afterwards.
Now, you felt like you were seventeen again, trying to explain yourself right in front of your mom when you did something that she didn't like.
The only difference was, Soap acted like your mom, proudly taking her place in scolding you.
"'s like a free invitation for an axe murderer to come and get ya. Bonnie, thought yer gonna be smarter than this." He looked at you, his eyebrows furrowed. You didn't have to be a rocket scientist to see how conflicted he was with you going out without him.
Well, maybe it was also the fact that you were going on a date; an unexpected one, but you couldn't really say no, when your best friend played as your wingman.
And, what could shock the most, the wingman wasn't Soap, but Gaz that got into the conclusion you needed something like this; after your injury, but also in general since he hasn't seen you in ages on date with someone. Truth, harsh but still truth, got into you, so you've decided he's completely right. You needed this, a fresh air in the whole situation.
Which was funnier, that date was with Cody. Cody, who got your fake number from Johnny just because he didn't like him and he gave off weird vibes and you deserved better. You felt bad for a moment considering it was a fucking helpline, but it was too late to do anything with it. What's more to it, you really didn't want to tell him that your idiotic best friend decided to joke, thinking it would be funny.
That guilt was until Garrick proudly admitted that he gave him your number because it felt right. Because Cody asked about you since he saw you with them, and after a quick "interrogation", he felt like a proud wingman to allow him to take a shot on you.
Pretty funny choice of words, but all in all, you knew what Gaz was thinking about. You've babbled with him about it for almost two hours straight, drinking wine, while Soap just listened, throwing his snarky remarks from time to time. He looked like a kid that got his candy stolen from him, and while you didn't really like that kind of behavior, it was kind of funny to see him like this.
Such a contrast to his usually playful nature, especially in something stupid; you were just getting ready for the date. Nothing too scandalous, nothing too fancy, and nothing too deep, but the last thing you kept to yourself, just to get him riled up.
"Axe murderer that I know, Soap," you groaned, when he stood in your way, clearly not wanting you to go any further. Or to at least think what you were doing, which was funny enough, given you were a grown up woman. Not his sister that he needed to protect because she's not mature enough to think for herself, his best friend that knew exactly what she's doing.
At least, she pretended like she knew it. He was so stern that even when you gave him a look, full of politeness, he wasn't impressed.
"You just met him after years," he emphasized the last word. "He could be so much different than the last time you've seen him, 'st sayin'. Yer too good to people, always been."
You sighed, a little defeated; there was nothing you could say that would convince him enough to Cody. "Yet, Kyle thinks he's pretty good for going out."
Soap laughed at your words, shaking his head with disbelief. His previously royal, blue eyes, were nothing like before; they were a bit... colder, if it was even possible. "And since when Kyle is your love advisor?" He raised his eyebrow, his arms crossed at his chest. It felt pretty defensive, even for him.
And, you would lie if you'd tell that you didn't like that, even if it was weird for you, to see him care about something like this. It was heartwarming; like he didn't actually want you to see that guy, to see him adding his statement.
But, of course, you couldn't admit that. It would only make his ego burst, and it was the last thing that he needed to know.
Besides, it would only make things more complicated.
"And like, it's..."
"Why do you care anyway?" you interrupted him; he opened his mouth for a moment, to close it right away, like your words actually hit him. "Genuinely. It's just a date."
Soap rolled his eyes, playing with his fingers – when you only glanced at them, he swiftly hid them behind his back. Like he wanted to keep them away from you, like you would say something about it. It was weird, but you didn't pay much attention to it back then.
"Carin' about you. 's all." He shrugged, looking carefully at you, when you put your shoes on. "'st... be careful, aye? 'm gonna kill this lad if he's..."
"...Johnny." You sent him a look; your hand instinctively covered his for a moment. "It's all gonna be alright. I'm not like, going to a mission where I'm gonna get another injury" you joked. He didn't take it quite well, considering that he gave you a scolding look.
"Mhm." Soap grumbled, helping you as you moved on to your coat. "Text me if you'll need anythin', bonnie. I mean it. Yer arm good?"
"Good, thank you. I'm gonna remember." You smiled softly, nudging him for goodbye, indicating that he could step down from his protective role. Cody was supposed to pick you up, so there was absolutely nothing for him left to do.
Well, at least you thought this way. His thoughts were a little different, as you saw the moment he escorted you to the exit of your apartment building, leaning against the door, as you were getting into your date's car. Cody even waved to him, but all Johnny did was a slight nod, like he was acknowledging him.
Small win, but a win anyway, you thought.
"Hope he's not your hidden boyfriend or something?" Your old friend looked at you for a second, before taking a turn to the left. "Like, he seems pretty... tense, when he sees me. Like he's protecting something."
You needed a few seconds to process what Cody was implying; and when you understood, you couldn't help but laugh and with disbelief. "No, he's completely harmless. Seriously, it's just... maybe he doesn't take strangers well, you know."
"Does he give strangers a distress hotline number instead of yours, or is it just me?" he grinned, and even then, you could hear the question in his tone, which made you gulp a little.
Well, if you’d think this way...
"Well. Johnny is... he's..."
Best friend. He's your best friend.
Why couldn't it leave your mouth?
"He's my... Johnny." You eventually said, looking at him. "He's like that, you'd understand after some time. But he's not my hidden boyfriend or something."
"Note taken. Would be awkward, if I'd taken you on a date and didn't know that." He laughed, shaking his head. "He'd probably kill me, huh?"
You laughed at this too, instead of telling him how Soap was already not pleased with you going out with him, and he was only your... best friend, technically. Heaven only knew what would happen if you'd want to meet Cody if you were in a relationship with him.
It was the possessiveness speaking. If anyone wanted to know something about MacTavish, he was possessive about his things. Obsessively so; it was cute when he clutched the Subway's sandwich to his chest from Ghost, when his friend wanted to take a bite. You, of course, had permission to take it (just a little bite since you were a girl), but no one else could. He cared about his things, he didn't let anyone touch his stuff if it had a sentimental matter to him.
The funny thing about it, he was possessive about people too, which sometimes irritated you to the core; he could have multiple friends and all, but you? Oh, he was interrogating the shit out of them, giving you the side eye if they managed to plan something with you before he did. He felt like he came before anyone, no matter what.
Not to mention, he was only like this about guy friends. Like a dog with a bone that's too precious to give to others. Funny thing is, they didn't even flirt with you, and he was acting like they were stealing you from him.
So, it wasn't really surprising when he didn't want to let you go out with Cody, especially that he somehow knew that you two had a history. You were thankful enough he didn't make a scene right in front of him because that would be humiliating.
Especially when your date seemed to be so nice. Not only did he open the car door for you, but also the restaurant's one, and you couldn't help but smile at that little gesture, nodding to him as a silent thank you. What was even better, you loved the place he chose for tonight.
Your old friend had to remember your taste, considering that the Italian restaurant was probably the prettiest building you've seen in a while. A lot of warm lamps around, climatic music that got your attention right when you walked into the room, greeted by an older waiter with a mustache; everything screamed Italy here, and you were taking in the view with pleasure.
"You like it so far?" Cody looked up at you from the menu; his bright, green eyes sparkled with curiosity in dim light. You suddenly felt bad, since you appreciated the effort more than you've probably let him know.
So, you nodded quickly, your painted nails clicking against the table. "Reminds me of this one restaurant back at home. You know, where we went with Stacy and others?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I remember." He laughed, shaking his head "I remember how Stacy spilled expensive wine on your shirt. Before meeting with your moms, you were pretty pissed back then."
You opened your eyes a little wider at this memory, suddenly remembering it; yeah, Stacy did something like that. What was also important to mention, you were right before an important dinner with your moms and their friends (Price involved), and the tragedy was huge back then. "So, you do remember things, huh?"
"Most of them," he admitted, tilting his head to the side with that boyish charm that he always had. It was something you couldn't really take away from him. "If something is worth remembering, I remember. Mostly situations with you."
It would be a lie if you'd say that dinner didn't go smoothly – because it did. Perfectly, even, knowing how much of a gentleman Cody was, how swiftly he balanced between topics, trying to entertain you. Trying to at least get a glimpse of your life that he didn't get to know since you left your hometown after being deployed and you cut ties with most of your friends. It was something that you liked, something that you adored, knowing he once was interested in you, and you were in him, when you were at high school.
Key words: high school.
As much as you liked him now, you knew it wouldn't work the moment waiter brought your food, and you awkwardly smiled to him, when he bon apetite'd you. Even if he tried to be smug, conversation wasn't effortless like you wanted it to be, you didn't like the way he asked you about your work, implying how it was men's work. Maybe it wasn't evident at first sight, but comments about you ruining your nails and your struggle as the only woman, and everything like that, irritated you.
Maybe it was you being hypersensitive, but you didn't really enjoy comments like this, no matter who it would be.
The chemistry between you two wasn't sparkling as well, and as much as you kept yourself from admitting it, you couldn't brush off a feeling that you would enjoy time with Johnny better. Hell, you were sure that your Scot would make those few hours a lot better. Movies, cooking together, even visiting the gym together... anything.
You felt bad for the thought, when Cody was so nice overall – yet, not nice in a way that would interest you.
"Is that your friend?" You heard him, which brought you back to Earth; he frowned, as he looked behind you. You were sitting right by the window, so he had a pretty clear view on the street.
"Friend?" You raised your eyebrow, amused.
"From earlier on."
You turned around, to see if your date was right; you doubted, really doubted that Cody would see Soap. Your friend was anything but someone that would disturb your date. "I really don't think Johnny..."
Well, Johnny indeed was here, and the thought of him not interrupting your date was completely crushed. You had to give him credit, though; he wasn't that recognizable, you didn't catch him right in the moment. He was in his dark sunglasses and brown cap; if the situation would've been different, you could laugh at how ridiculously similar he looked to all the Marvel characters when they had to hide.
Back then, you balanced on the line between being amused and furious that he didn't respect your time enough with someone else.
Having fun, Johnny?
As you observed him, you saw how quickly he looked around; for a brief moment, you felt like his gaze was on you, and it only confirmed itself when he started typing in his phone again.
dinnae ken what yer talkin about.
"I guess he's just here." You shrugged, lying to him swiftly. "It's the center of the town, yeah? Things... happens."
Cody chuckled, playing with his fork. "Yeah. Yeah. Maybe he is. As long as he doesn't disturb our date, right? It's too nice."
You're a menace to the society, MacTavish; you swiftly typed out under the table. "Yeah. It's too nice." you agreed, even if you thought how interesting it got only because your best friend was outside.
and yer mean: (
You had to hold back a laugh when you've read it; so, you put your phone down and came back to talking with Cody, eating and drinking that delicious wine; you knew you had to buy a bottle after this little adventure. Maybe they didn't sell it, but you were willing to try as soon as the waiter would come with the bill.
It was a personal win for you to come out twenty minutes later out of this restaurant with a bottle in your hand, laughing to your date about something convincing enough to sell it to you. You had to speak with two managers, but it was yours after all, ready to go home with you.
Soap was ready too, even if he acted like he wasn't here; you turned down Cody's proposition of taking you home just to call your best friend to ask where he is exactly, since he disappeared from that bench before you knew it.
"Over the date already? Had to suck, eh?" His eyebrow arched, as he wrapped his arm around your waist. "Sad. But yer sure that lad ain't for you."
"You know," you started, as you grabbed his glasses, just to wear it yourself "if you wouldn't be such a stalker, I'd let you drink wine with me at home. But, now, I have doubts about it."
"Stalker? C'mon. A simple coincidence, that is," he chuckled, as you two walked into his car. "Not my fault you'd rather have me on this date, not him. Can't really blame ya, hen."
You could feel how your face heated up in the moment; maybe if his statement wasn't true, you'd react differently, maybe you would think of a snarky comment. Back then, when you felt exactly like he said, well... It was hard enough.
He seemed to catch the hesitant look at your face, considering how smiley he got. "Oh? Got ye real good, if yer blushin'—"
"—you imagine too much, Johnny, " you mumbled out, as you got more comfortable in your seat, ready to go. "Let's go home, yeah?"
"'st sayin', bonnie. I could have a better date, even at home."
You didn't say anything about his reply. Not because it wasn't true (because it was), not because you were at a loss of words, but because you were conflicted about him and you having a date, when you two were friends. Was he honest, or playing like he always did?
It was just easier to think of it as just banter, ignore it, than actually take him seriously; because if you did and he would have to explain it to you it was just a joke... You were pretty sure that death of embarrassment was gonna happen, honestly. John was too important to you, friendship with him was too important to you to experiment with things like that.
Besides, it wasn't like you two would fit, right? There was a difference between being friends and someone that you could date. Your best friend was great, but as a lover? You didn't know this side of him, you could only guess.
When you finally arrived, you automatically left the car with your head in the clouds. Maybe that's why you haven't even noticed that your best friend was on the other side, trying to open the door for you; and that end up badly, considering that you've hit him with the door.
Low "fuck" snapped you from your thoughts, as well as him holding his nose; you immediately approached him, your expression bashful.
"I'm so sorry, Soap, I—"
"—S'alright." He shook his head, smiling at you like it was nothing. "I've been worse, you know. 'Suppose I deserved that." He nudged you, laughing when you rolled your eyes.
"It wasn't intentional," you groaned, grabbing his arm to start walking with him. "Come on, I'm gonna check it. Just in case."
"Apartment first, ma'am."
So, as soon as you were in the apartment with him, you had to check if nothing was broken – and even if it sounded like a wild thought, breaking a nose in close contact with the car's door, literally everything was possible with Soap, so it was better to be safe than sorry. Wouldn't be the first time that you did something to him without intention of doing it.
Once, when he pretended to be a burglar (he thought it would be funny this way) and he grabbed you from behind in your apartment, you hit him with a flower pot. You laughed afterwards, but you were pretty mad at him in the first ten minutes, trying to find something with ice that would help his headache.
After you checked everything, he seemed to be good. At least, excluding the moment where he thought it would be funny to whine and make you worry, which you smacked him for, but that was just his idiotic side speaking.
This incident though was definitely a lighter one. You've found yourself cleaning his shirt with soap and cold water, since he had a few drops of blood on it, and somehow you felt responsible there wouldn't be any stain left. Soap kept you company even then, shirtless, leaning against the doorframe to have a joke or two about how well you are cleaning blood, suggesting that you have "close connections" with underground fighters.
A simple answer would be period, but you didn't feel like going into that kind of conversation, so you just agreed, telling him he has to book you for the next cleaning. His laugh was everything.
Quickly after this, you were off to sleep, tired with the events of the day; you really needed a good rest, where you'd wrap yourself in the sheets, a warm nest around you. Calm environment, nothing to worry about since you were on leave, and your best friend was in your apartment too, it was the sense of safety here.
Except, your nightmares had a bit different plans than you had.
Ruthless, like they needed to remind themselves, and the worst thing about it was: you lived through every one of them. It wasn't something of your imagination, monsters and creatures that had no place in the real world, no – the realness of it all was scary. The memories you had from missions blended perfectly with events that didn't happen, causing you to have a heart-attack experience.
Nightmares about your team were the worst; where everyone was killed. Where you couldn't do anything but scream; this time, you watched their execution, as every one of your boys were killed right in front of you. Gun wounds, humiliation, where killers wanted them to beg for their life, when they cut the fingers of your comrades just to shoot them afterwards.
And you had to watch all of it, teary-eyed, just begging to stop all this madness.
The worst moment was when royal blue eyes looked right into yours, terrified, with a silent plea in them, hoping that you're gonna be the one to save his life; and the worst thing was, you knew you're gonna fail him. You knew there was nothing you could do to prevent the bloodshed, not when your body refused to move, not when you couldn't even move your finger, nor legs to defend them.
To defend him.
You remembered screaming, when the hope died in his eyes; silent, maybe meaningless words from your side that you're gonna fix all of this, no matter what. How you were the only one alive, and it felt worse than being dead with all of them.
And then, you woke up.
Your breath rapid, shuddery, you had no control over it, as well as you had no control over tears streaming down your face, without you acknowledging the fact of them. The only element that you saw? A pair of blues, looking at you with horror.
Owner of them shook you gently, trying to get you out of the trance you were in; after a minute you were pretty sure that he was talking, but you couldn't really recall what.
You had other things in mind.
"You're alive," you said, breathing out; he seemed shocked at least with your statement, but as he held your hands in his, he nodded quickly.
"Yeah. Yeah, 'm alive. Always will," he whispered. For a moment, the two of you were just looking at each other in silence and breathing. He took as it personal job to ease your nerves, and you could say that he really succeeded at it – the feeling like someone ripped your heart from your chest, slowly but surely vanished. "Better?"
"A bit," you murmured, sighing. You felt kind of bad, even if it wasn't your fault entirely. "I woke you up. I'm so sorry Johnny, I don't even—"
"—sssh. None of that right now, lassie, 'salright." He shook his head, leaning even more in your direction. "Come on. Give me a bosie."
"A bosie?" you chuckled, wiping away your tears. "It's a... hug, or...?"
"It's a hug, aye," he laughed too, wrapping his arms around you tightly – he knew how you liked to be hugged, he knew what you needed back then.
Soap hid his face in your hair, as he caressed your spine softly. He whispered a lot of words back then; soothing ones, encouraging, sweet nothings that made your heart go. How you weren't alone in all of this, how you could always count on him, how he was always gonna be here, no matter what was gonna happen.
All of this, in his arms, slightly rocked back and forth by him, seemed like the sweetest promise ever made, when you listened to his heart, slowly coming back to normal, just like your breath did not long ago. You two had magical influence on each other, you knew, but seeing it in action had you on a chokehold.
If this would be possible, you'd never leave this hug. You were more than happy to stay there with your eyes closed, your arms tightly around him, chin on top of his arm, where you could just smell his scent that somehow calmed you even more.
"'m gonna bring you a glass of water. Then, you're gonna go to sleep, all right?"
You couldn't care less about a glass of water, when you had all you needed in one person.
“Can you... stay?" you asked, slowly, when he started getting out of your bed. Somehow, you felt out of place asking that, but you needed to do this, even if it could seem outward weird to him.
You saw how he froze for a moment, before sitting in your bed again. "Of course."
This wasn't the first time; you once comforted him in bed, you slept next to him on missions just to keep both of you warm, but that was definitely the first time when both of you felt... more intimate. Like it was a change in the air, and after all it was your bed, in your apartment, and you wanted him to be next to you because he brought you comfort.
And because, somehow, it felt like he belonged here.
He spooned you from behind – one of his arms going under your head, so you could easily use it as a pillow if you'd only want, the other around your waist, like he was personally protecting you from anything that could happen to you. His body heat hit you the moment you snuggled more under the sheets. Soap was like a personal heater, ready to do anything to keep you warm.
You were in heaven.
"This will do?" he asked, his voice low. "Is it good for you, lassie?"
"...yeah." You smiled under your nose, when he ruffled your hair with the tips of his fingers, when you laid your head on his arm. "Good."
"Mhm. Sleep now, I'm gonna be here, if you need me." He kissed the back of your head, and from that gesture alone, you just knew for a fact that he was smiling too. "You know I love you, right?"
"I know. Love you too."
And for the first time, it felt a bit different from "I love you" than usual.

Today’s @thunder-pride prompt is ‘can we talk?’ and I’ve had this partly written for a while but didn’t get around to finishing it until this morning, so hopefully it reads okay and doesn’t feel weirdly disjointed in the middle!
AO3 link
It was approaching eleven-thirty. The pale light of dusk had long since been replaced by the depths of night, yet John had made no move to switch on a lamp. He was still sat at the same tiny table in an equally small kitchen in his apartment and had not moved since his hasty retreat from a restaurant downtown.
His skin was still crawling with discomfort. He couldn’t shake the sight of disappointment in his date’s eyes. If he had to make a list of the top five worst feelings in the world, disappointing people would be in third place. And it hadn’t even been his fault. He hadn’t intentionally led her on. He hadn’t realised that it was a date in the first place, notably because there was supposed to have been four of them, only Kenny had got sick at the last minute and Scott had conveniently had ‘something come up’.
Yeah, right. The flat Earth theory was more believable, not to mention the fact that his brother had then texted him good luck. Also, this was the third night out on which Scott had abandoned him with some random stranger in an excruciatingly romantic setting. Restaurants with friends were fine, but not when it was just you and a person who you only knew vaguely but whom Scott had seemingly befriended despite only having been on campus to visit John for an extended weekend.
The spare key scratched in the lock, then the door squeaked open. Scott fumbled for the light switch and promptly let out an undignified yelp.
“Jeezus, Johnny.” He kicked the door shut and dumped his jacket on the kitchen counter. “What the hell, man? Why are you sitting in the dark?” He winced. “I take it the date didn’t go so well?”
“You set me up.”
John had been aiming for a neutral accusation, but his voice sounded a little more betrayed and upset than he cared to let on. He settled for scowling at Scott, but quickly grew tired of this. Frankly, he was just exhausted full stop. He was half-tempted to forget the whole experience and go to bed early. But he’d learnt that problems didn’t miraculously vanish if you ignored them, which was a shame given that was his preferred strategy. So, if he didn’t discuss this with Scott then it would be a recurring issue and he was so done with unwanted, spontaneous blind dates.
So.
Scott pried open the fridge on the hunt for the beers he’d stashed there earlier. “You make it sound like I framed you for murder.”
Logically, John knew Scott meant well. But his teasing tone was just irritating. He was unintentionally making light of a subject that was actually pretty serious and John sort of wanted to strangle him.
“It’s not funny.”
“It’s a little funny.” Scott cracked open the bottle with his key. “Was it that bad? She seemed like a nice girl. You said Adam wasn’t your type, so I figured… Anyway. It’s chill. We’ll find you someone eventually. And hey, I’m here for a few more days. I’m an excellent wingman. Ha, literally.”
“Scott, this isn’t-” John cut himself off and took a deep breath to calm down. He tried again once he was certain that his voice was steadier. “Can we talk?”
“Oh, boy,” Scott joked, slightly muffled as he bent down to unlace his shoes. “Sounds serious.” He glanced up when there was no reply and caught John’s unimpressed stare. “Oh, shit. Okay. Sorry. Give me a minute.”
He kicked his sneakers onto the mat and sank into a chair opposite, cradling his drink between his hands. There was a glint of humour in his eyes, presumably aided by whatever he’d drunk at the bar he’d vanished to for the evening, but to give him credit he did seem to be earnest about listening.
John dropped his gaze to the whorls in the table. There was a faint blue stain from spilled ink when he’d been working formulae out on paper earlier in the semester and he focussed on that to keep himself from overthinking and letting the matter drop again.
“You’ve got to stop trying to set me up with people.”
He was speaking too fast so that the words seemed to blur together, unable to shake the nerves that came with explaining this aspect of his self to people because more often than not they didn’t understand and told him that he just hadn’t found the right person. It was bad enough hearing that from anyone but not from family. He wasn’t sure what to say if Scott didn’t get it.
He continued in a rush before Scott could get a word in edgeways, “I know you mean well, but it makes me really uncomfortable. I don’t want to date anyone. Adam wasn’t my type, but Becca isn’t either, because I don’t have a type. I’m not interested in people like that. I have friends and family and that’s all I want. So, please stop tricking me into dates because it will never lead anywhere.”
There was a brief pause. The silence was broken only by the distant wail of sirens across the city, the hum of the refrigerator and indistinct voices from the apartment across the hallway. John finally risked a glance up to glimpse Scott’s guilty expression.
“Can you say something?”
“What? Oh, yeah. Sorry. I- Shit, John. I’m sorry. I didn’t realise…” Scott sat back in his chair and laced his hands behind his head with a self-deprecating chuckle. “I’m an idiot. Sorry. Oh, God, I’m the worst. I spent this whole weekend trying to- I am so sorry, Johnny.”
“That had the potential to be a great apology, but then you had to ruin it by calling me Johnny.”
Scott stared at him for a long moment, evidently trying to repress laughter. “Are we good?”
“Yeah, we’re good.” John stole the bottle and took a cautious sip. “What the hell is this? Are you drinking battery acid? This is disgusting.” He twisted it to spy the label. “I’ve never even heard of this brand. Where did you get it?”
Scott made a vague gesture which translated to you don’t want to know. Which was correct, because John really, really didn’t want to know. He slid the bottle – which most definitely wasn’t beer – back to his brother and got up to find something to rid the taste from his mouth.
“So,” Scott called, still lounging at the table. “How long have you known?”
John shrugged, then realised he was hidden behind the fridge door. “Uh, a while. Since high school, anyway.”
It was slowly dawning on him that he hadn’t actually eaten anything except free bread in the restaurant, shortly before he’d made his excuses and fled. He shoved a box of leftover takeout into the microwave and leant back against the counter to wait.
Scott was staring down at the table where light from the street was spilling through the curtains. There was a certain tension in his shoulders which betrayed the fact he was secretly upset. He didn’t look up as he asked, quietly and uneasily, “Were you afraid to tell me? Because if so, I’m sorry. I never intended to make you feel that way.”
John hesitated, then glimpsed the flash of pure panic in Scott’s eyes.
“No,” he confessed. “I wasn’t afraid of telling you. I’m just tired, I guess. College is… I’m here to learn. A lot of people seem to be here for casual hook ups and parties. So, I’m constantly having to explain that I’m not interested in any of that and after a while it becomes tiring. It’s not a one-time experience. Every time I meet someone new and the topic turns to relationships, I have to… well, come out, I suppose. So, I’m tired of it. But that’s not your fault.”
“I just feel like I should have realised.”
“Not necessarily.”
“I bet Virgil realised.” Scott drummed a hand against the bottle with a sigh. “I thought you were just shy. But now- Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. I still feel like an idiot, though.”
“Oh, you are an idiot,” John informed him. “But not for this reason.”
“Thanks,” Scott deadpanned. He scrubbed a hand through his hair, looking a little less guilty and more genuinely curious as John carried the takeout over to the table and sat back down. “So, is there a specific label you use?”
John raised a brow. “Do I have to use a label?”
“No,” Scott replied quickly. “I was just wondering. Because if there is, then I want to be able to look it up and do some research. I mean, this is who you are, John. Of course I want to understand that better.”
Sometimes – this weekend being a prime example – Scott could be an absolute idiot. But he was an idiot with good intentions. And, right now, John was reminded that he was actually pretty fond of this idiot for a reason.
“Are you going to remember this?” he asked.
Scott flipped his phone out of his pocket and opened a new note. “Yep.”
“Look up the terms aromantic and asexual. Then come back to me if you have further questions.”
“Cool, cool, cool.”
John offered him a spare fork and slid the takeout into the centre of the table. For a few moments, they ate in silence. He was surprised by just how much lighter he felt, unaware that the issue had been worrying him.
“Hey, John?” Scott had that soft, proud smile again, the same one that he’d worn when watching one of Virgil’s concerts or Gordon’s swim races. “Thanks for telling me.”
John fought back a smile of his own. “No more dates, okay?”
Scott held up his hands. “I promise.”

I'm shocked to learn that Téa and Yami's date is actually good in Japanese, considering that it's one of the most memorably terrible episodes in English. There's actual consistent themes and character growth!
Yugi and Yami both want to know about Yami's past, but they're also both desperate to stay together forever. There's a tension between either maintaining a status quo that's incredibly meaningful to both of them or abandoning that status quo in order to advance. That's a theme that fits extraordinarily well with them both actually being teenagers (with Yami admittedly being a rather odd teenager, considering both his adult-role-in-society life as Atem and his very transitional, more teenager-like stage as the memory-less Yami).
Yami initially refused Téa's recommendation to go to the Ancient Egypt exhibit at the museum, and it was through her dance battle and subsequent speech to Johnny Steps -- including her pointing out that she's been rejected at dozens of auditions but is going to keep pushing through that pain to work towards the life she ultimately wants -- that he realized it was worth risking what he has now in order to grow as a person. The dance battle had actual meaning! So did the duel afterwards!
In the original Japanese, Yugi and Yami aren't constantly listening in on each other, which is why Yugi could explicitly ask Téa to go out on a date with Yami and Yami could ask Téa not to tell Yugi about having gone to the museum (which is absolutely wild as a concept).
Yami and Yugi wingmanning each other into the stratosphere before the date was SO GOOD. ("You don't think this is too flashy?" "I think it's still too plain. Maybe wear some silver jewelry on your arms. Go on; Téa's waiting for you. Show her how cool you look." & "Heyyy, you have a date! You're finally going for it! Good luck, partner!" "It's not me who's going to be there, though. ;) ")
It was hilarious watching Isis be so blunt in telling Yami what to do while using keigo, and then she simply walked away from the Nameless Pharaoh while straight-out telling him she wasn't going to explain more. Such a formal info dump.
Yami proudly identifying himself as "Yugi. Muto Yugi!" five minutes before deciding that he's going to regain his memories even if it means losing his relationship with Yugi was Sure A Thing.
That series of episodes was actually shockingly great and absolutely worth a rewatch in Japanese.

How they’d do as your wingman
Johnny: more likely to get himself laid then you. Not on purpose…probably. If he’s actually trying, Johnny makes a pretty good wingman. Though really only for one nightstands. Talks you up maybe a little too much. Don’t expect him to find you anyone for that second date. If there is one he immediately goes into suspicious mode. Nothing against you, he just does this with anyone you talk to for to long. 4/10
Kerry: A good wingman! He pays attention to his friends so he def knows what you like. Will even get you into some fancy clubs and hook you up with some fellow celebrities. If Kerry gets to drunk though you will be on you own so make sure he stays a little sober. Again, probably only helpful for one night stands. 7/10
Panam: If she’s introducing you to anyone it’s probably someone from her clan or at least another nomad so you may already know them. Kinda just leaves you two together, “Have fun, kids! :)” Sorta’ thing. Might not be accurate with you tastes but her hearts in the right place. More likely to get a date then a quickie. Also, except the rest of her clan to haze the guy if they don’t know him. 6/10
Judy: If she’s your wingman then your going to be doing a lot of people watching at Lizzie’s, kinda’ limiting your dating pool. She knows everyone Which means she’s got a good idea of who’s already interested in you. Since she edits BD all day feel free to tell her your preferences, trust me she’s seen it all. Could swing you either a date or a fuck buddy, just tell her. 8/10
River: is already asking you out. He is definitely the most patient and puts a lot of thought into setting you up with someone. This will be an actual date, he is not a go to guy for hook ups. He really only knows fellow cops, detectives, and his family so expect your dating pool to be small. Will show up at your date but incognito for support if you’re nervous. 5.5/10
Rogue: Chances are Rogue isn’t going to help you even if you ask her out right. She’s not a dating service. Even if she knows someone’s got the hots for you she won’t do anything. They’re an adult, you’re an adult. Figure it out. The only time I see her stepping in is if this person is legitimately bad news, assuming Johnny doesn’t get to them first. Don’t eve try/10
Claire: Woo boy, Claire knows everyone and hears everything. The afterlife is a constant hub of activity so you’ve got choices and Claire’s got deets on them. You just point someone out and she’ll tell you what she knows. Pretty good about knowing who you’ll vibe with too, trust her judgement. She will try to get you a date before a hook up but it’s a bar, she’s not naïve. The end result is on you. 10/10
Jackie: He seems to know everyone somehow so who knows who he’ll introduce. He does know you pretty well so don’t worry about it to much. Jackie is kinda a goof ball and might try a little to hard when introducing you to people but it’s the thought that counts! Mama Welles will have opinions on who he got you so be ready. Jackie doesn’t push for any end result and just follows your lead. Ambiguities don’t work well for him so know what you want beforehand. 6/10

request: mark lee smut please :3
a/n: thank you for your request! I think I got a little bit carried away… I’m sorry if it’s too long and not that good :(
Genre: summer camp!au, smut
Characters: Mark Lee x Female Reader ft. Johnny, Jaehyun, Lucas, Sicheng
Word count: 3051
Summary: Mark Lee may be terrible at basketball but he sure compensates in other departments.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
As much as you denied it, you loved summer camp, you adored sleeping in a bungalow with your friends, sitting around a bonfire while playing random songs on your ukulele and swimming in the lake nearby. More than anything, you loved how many sports you were able to play. Every summer the campers would be divided in two teams and they would have to compete against each other in various matches. This year you were part of the team called Tigers and you couldn’t wait for the competition to start.
“Are you ready for the first match of the summer?!” one of the camp counsellors shouted into a megaphone while everyone was still having breakfast. All the campers responded with loud cheers. “Enjoy the rest of your breakfast, I’ll see you all at the basketball court at 10AM. But first… can I hear some cheers for the Tigers?!”. Your team started clapping their hands, slamming their fists on the table and you chanted with a few other girls the teams name. “Can I hear the Dragons now?!”. The opposing team did the exact same thing, some members even stood up throwing their hands in the air. To be precise, there were three guys who were giving it their all to cheer. The shorter one of the three who were standing up shouted “Dragons rule!” while pointing at your table. You looked at him and rolled your eyes in the most visible way possible so that he could see. He was clearly irritated by your reaction but you couldn’t care less and turned back around
“I think you pissed off Mark Lee, y/n. He’s staring, like, really hard”. “Who?” you answered unbothered, although you were tempted to turn around and a look for yourself. Your friend Lily explained that this was his first time at this camp and that he had a bit of a reputation back in his hometown. “A reputation for what?” you asked with your eyes never leaving your bowl. “A reputation for being so hot!” she responded excited and the other girls in your team giggled. “You guys have terrible taste, let me tell you.” You pointed out while smirking. “Look who’s talking! Also, have you seen his friends? The one on the right is called Jaehyun and I think the other one is called Johnny. Damn… I’d climb that like a tree.” “Lily! What the fuck!” you almost shouted while laughing. “Oh God, they’re all staring at you now. Quick don’t turn- wait I said don’t turn around, y/n!”. You ignored Lily’s words as you shot a deadly stare at the guys but they continued untroubled. The one whose name was Johnny leaned over to Mark to whisper something in his ear and he laughed in response, without taking his eyes off of you. This whole situation was getting on your nerves; you wished you could’ve smacked that little smirk off his face. “What’s wrong, sweetheart? Are you practicing your sad face for when we’re going to kick your ass?” Mark exclaimed while fist bumping Jaehyun. You grinned mockingly at that remark. “You’ve got a lot of confidence for such a short guy, are you sure you can play darling?”. Mark’s friends started laughing at your comeback and hit his arm. “I like her.” Said Johnny in between laughs and Mark glared at his friend, hurt in his pride. Then he turned to you and mouthed “See you on the court.” You couldn’t be bothered with giving him an answer.
The boys’ teams were first up in the line-up. When the Dragons arrived on the court you and other team mates started booing. Mark met your gaze and threw a middle finger up in your direction. In response, you decided to throw him off so you put your hand on your lips and blew him a kiss. Mark was clearly taken back and his cheeks turned bright red. You laughed and shouted “Loser!”. Soon after your team joined the court and you stood up clapping enthusiastically while rooting for your friends. “Go Lucas! Show them how it’s done!” you exclaimed as loud as you could. Your friend Lucas in response pointed at you and winked, which made the crowd howl. “Wow, are we in High School Musical or something?” said Lily while clinging on your arm. “Did you…?” “Lily, doesn’t your mind get tired from thinking about sex so much?” “I’m just asking! I mean he’s hot, who wouldn’t try to get with him?” “Right.” You smirked while thoughts of the night before started invading your mind. Hot, sweaty bodies pressing against each other as the moonlight reflects softly on the water. Whispers, low grunts and inaudible swears filling the air around you. Big hands kneading your ass and your palms pressed on Lucas’ muscular chest. Your cheeks burned as you started to picture those moments, you looked down and then back at Lucas as he was getting ready. He smiled at you and you reciprocated. Lily was quick to notice. “Wait… no way! You go girl!” she wasn’t exactly subtle and you blocked your hand on her mouth but people were already staring, even Mark whose eyes would go back and forth between you and Lucas. Then he turned to Johnny and said something to him while holding his fists. Almost immediately, Johnny started walking in your direction as Mark protested and Jaehyun held him in his place.
“Y/n!” shouted Johnny to get your attention. “What do you want?” you answered with a poisonous tone from the bleachers. “Me and the boys want to make a bet.” You cracked a fake smile at the proposal, but surprisingly you were in interested in what they had thought of. “If we win, you and Mark are going on a canoe ride together tonight.” All the campers knew what taking the canoes at night meant, it was everyone’s excuse to go fool around in peace. You looked at Mark as he avoided your gaze, clearly embarrassed. “Did anyone ever tell you that you’re the worst wingman ever, dude?” you said while crossing your arms in front of you. “What? Too scared to say yes?” you didn’t want to appear weak so you accepted. “I mean, our team is going to win anyway, so saying yes won’t hurt. On two conditions.” “What is it?” asked Johnny. You beat around the bush for a few moments as you watched Mark’s reaction at every single words you said. You couldn’t explain how pleased you were while seeing him struggle. “Both the boys and the girls’ team have to win. If only one of them wins, the bet is off. And If we win both times, you are going with Lily on the canoe.” Lily widened her eyes in surprise. Johnny gave her a bright smile in response “Deal!” and then walked back to his team as soon as he heard the whistle. “Y/n… we have to beat them. We must” exclaimed your friend. You just laughed, confident in your team’s skills. You saw Lucas in the corner of your eye with an angry expression on his face. Trying not to let anyone around you notice, you pointed at him and then pointed at your pouting lips. He couldn’t stay mad at you for long and your cute expression only gave him more motivation to win.
As expected, Lucas was a great player; there wasn’t a time where he would be caught slipping, his eyes were always on the ball and his movements were swift and neat. Although the opposing team had very competent players like Jaehyun, who would give them a hard time, Lucas would never miss a hoop. As the referee’s whistle marked the Tigers’ victory, everyone stood up and clapped. Lucas came running straight to you and you climbed down the bleachers to meet him halfway and congratulate him. “You were fantastic- Lucas!” out of the blue he lifted you from the ground and held you in a tight hug. “I’m sorry, I’m all sweaty.” You felt him pout in the crook of your neck. “It doesn’t matter.” You replied while putting your arms around him lovingly. All the others members of the team started making fun of you with all sorts of jokes and you were starting to get embarrassed. “Please, put me down now.” You said with a shy smile on your face. “Just one moment.” Said Lucas as he started spinning around with you still attached to his neck, making you dizzy and causing just louder noises from the others. “C’mon Lucas, she has to play, put her down!” said Sicheng, trying to cool down the situation. After he finally put you down and got his lips closer to your ear making you shiver. “Now go win so you can get out of that stupid bet.” You moved away to meet his gaze. “You know I always come in first.” You replied with a smirk. “Oh, I know” chuckled Lucas while pinching your hip playfully.
The girls’ teams match was just as upbeat and exciting, if not more. From time to time while playing, you could see Mark in the corner of your eye as he scratched his knee nervously. You felt uneasy at how many times you had made eye contact during the entire match. There you were, in a pool of sweat in your basketball shorts and a crop-top, unaware of your charms in that moment. Unaware of Mark’s deepest thoughts as he watched your glistening body bounce at every jump. As you shot the last lay-up, you heard a whistle. “The Tigers are our winners today!”. You turned to Lily and started jumping in excitement. Soon you were all cheering in a circle as you rejoiced in your victory. You caught a glimpse at the losers and you nodded your head to make them come closer. Mark was the only one that stayed in his place. You held out both your hands to Jaehyun and Johnny. “Good game.” You exclaimed with a smile. Both guys shook your hands while smirking. “Also, you’d better get your canoe ready, big guy. My friend Lily is not a cheap date.” You winked at him and then turned to a rather embarassed Lily.
As the sun was setting, everyone was busy setting up the tables for dinner. Lucas was helping you put on a tablecloth, never taking his eyes off of you. “What?” you said playfully. “You look great in that skirt.” He mouthed so he could not be heard. After you finished, he put his arm around you and kissed you softly on the cheek as you two sat down with your friends. Once again, you were drawn to Mark who was standing in the corner of the main room silently. He noticed your gaze and quickly avoided it. You kind of felt bad, after hurting his ego all day long. All of a sudden, the camp counsellor entered to make an announcement. Two people were going to collect some extra firewood for the bonfire that night. The groans and complains of the campers didn’t move the old man at all. “Okay, let’s see whose turn is it… Mark and y/n’s turn!”. Took by surprise, your jaw dropped. He was the last person you wanted to be alone with and you were sure that the feeling was mutual. You felt Lucas’ arm twitch around from jealousy but you put your hand on his leg to reassure him. “I don’t like him. Not even a bit.” “I don’t either.” You weren’t sure if you truly believed those words or you just wanted please Lucas.
Twenty minutes had probably passed after you had left the main room. As you and Mark were walking through the woods in complete silence - you wondered if you had ever felt so awkward in your whole life. But you also felt pity for him, this guy had been the target of all the jokes for the entire day, not only by the opposing team but also his friends. “Mark…” you uttered hesitantly, which caused him to look at you while he was holding a bunch of wood pieces. “I’m sorry about today.” “For what? It’s not your fault if Johnny’s an asshole and never thinks before opening his mouth.” You noticed his muscles tightening around the logs revealing two strong biceps you hadn’t noticed before. “But what does it matter to you anyway? You’ve got your pretty little boyfriend waiting for you, am I right?” “He’s not my boyfriend.” Mark shot his eyes at you with a relieved expression. “You know what? I think you’re jealous.” you fired back. “N-no, I’m not jealous! What the fuck.” “You seemed like you were this morning.” You raised your eyebrow at him. He froze and the spot but soon after a grin appeared on his face. “Oh, you thought I was jealous? No sweetie, I was just thinking about how that guy’s so tall that he can’t fuck you right.” Mark’s dirty words caught you off guard and as much as you tried to feel disgusted, you were undeniably turned on by his boldness. “You’ve been talking such a big game all day, but I bet you’re all talk and no actions.” You pointed out while biting your lips unconsciously. Mark did not talk back, he just threw all the logs to the ground, grabbed your face fiercely with both of his hands as he started kissing you roughly. You cursed yourself at how easily you had given in to the kiss. Your mouths were clashing against each other, both of you fighting to assert dominance, resulting in even sloppier kisses that only made you feel wetter than you already were. He grabbed your ass as he pushed you against him and you inevitably felt his boner against your denim skirt, which made you moan against his mouth. Then he started attacking your neck as you began grinding your core against his to get some sort of relief. “Want my cock that bad, uh?” “Yes, too bad there’s an asshole attached to it.” You said in between moans while grabbing his length over his jeans. He grunted at your remark but completely forgot his anger as you jerked him off painfully slow. While your hand worked on his member, he slipped a hand under your skirt, making you squirm. After a few minutes you moved him away, causing Mark to frown. “Get on the ground.” You ordered. “What?! No way, what if I don’t want to?” then you got closer to his face “Either you get on the ground right now, or you don’t get to fuck me.” You replied with devilish look, as if some sort of sex demon had possessed you on the spot. And Mark loved that. He followed your orders with no more complains. You got on top of him, pushed up your skirt and removed your soaking panties, revealing yourself in all your glory as Mark licked his lips. As you adjusted yourself on him, he grabbed your breasts eagerly and was caught by surprise when he realised that you were not wearing a bra. You smirked at his incredulous face and you slowly guided his own hands on your bosom. The sight of you grinding so hungrily on him as you threw your head back lost in your own pleasure, had Mark feeling light-headed. You, on the other hand, were no different. Letting Mark get his way with you in the middle of that forest did something to you, you couldn’t put it into words. You forgot about everything, about that stupid basketball game, about dinner, the logs, about Lucas. Every thought was washed away by Mark’s sweet moans as he kissed your nipples over your shirt. Completely out of patience you unbuckled his belt and unzipped his pants finally freeing his cock. “Come here.” Grunted Mark while grabbing you by the hips. You looked into each other’s eyes as he entered your wet entrance. You mouth released a silent moan as you held on to his shoulders for balance. His cock felt so good inside you, all you could do was moan and sigh desperately. “Damn, you’re loud, baby.” Mark managed to exclaim. You grabbed his jaw with one hand as you kept fucking yourself on him “Shut up and fuck me right like you said you would.” Your words made Mark’s eyes turn dark. He grabbed your hips once again and fully lay down as he pounded into you way harder than before, making you see stars. You tried to hold back your moans by forcing your hand on your lips, fearing someone might hear you, but Mark wasn’t helping. “I wish I could’ve done this during the game, when you were wearing those basketball shorts. God, you looked so fucking hot. I could’ve just fucked you in the middle of the court- oh, God.” His words made you clench around him resulting in him losing his ability to form any sentences.”S-so that’s w-why you were s-staring? Because y-you wanted- oh God!” your words were cut off as he started playing with your clit. You were both so needy for each other, so eager as you chased your highs. You pushed your head in the crook of his neck, getting lost in his scent as he hit your sweet spot repeatedly. “P-please, m-make me come.” That was last sentence you were able to utter. He nodded as he kissed your lips. “I’ll make you come so hard, don’t worry.” All it took you were a few more moments and soon after you felt an explosive orgasm taking over both you. You grasped a fist of Mark’s hair as you rode out your high. Then you pushed yourself off of him and lay on the ground next to him. Pants filled the air as they became one with the chirping of birds. You turned your head to face Mark only to find out that his eyes were already on you. You blushed. “Oh so, just a few moments ago you were ordering me to fuck you and now you’re blushing? I don’t get you at all.” He chuckled and the sound of his laugh made your heart flatter. “But that’s why I like you.” You looked at him and smiled. You shifted to your side and put your hand on his as you pressed your lips on the corner of his mouth. “We should do this more often.”

jhené’s friends
Tumblr media
IU -
when jhené joined the company, iu immediately took her under her wing.
iu took care of her like an older sister, and have quickly become family to each other
they understand each other very well, both coming from poor backgrounds and their work ethic being a big reason for their success
they’re both dubbed as “nation’s little sisters”
they live in the same apartment building, so they hang out quite often
jhené’s number one person to go to for advice
each other’s number one fans. like, when iu was filming for her dramas, jhené was sure to order a food truck to support her
Tumblr media
JESSI -
this was a surprising friendship to the public. they thought that the two were almost opposites, but in reality, they were similar in a lot of ways
they met through mutual friends and have really bonded since
jhené becomes louder and much more hyper when she’s with jessi
9 out of 10 times will be talking in english to each other
one time for jessi’s vlog, jhené was featured in it for a bit and it was such a funny moment and it really allowed their fans to see what their friendship was like
jessi reminds jhené of home and her friends from home, so it was easy for her to be comfortable around her
Tumblr media
KEY -
they met at a music show, around the time jhené debuted
although she just debuted, jhené caught a lot of attention early and many of her seniors were fond of her, since she was so polite. one of them happened to be key and he took her under his wing
you know how key knows all the gossip, well jhené is the first person he goes to when he discovers something new
the more time they spend together, the more jhené acts like him
he knows her like the back of his hand and she trusts him with pretty much everything
Tumblr media
JOHNNY -
also met at a music show, johnnyhadacrushonherbutanothermemberalsohadacrushonher.
even though it started as a crush, johnny realized that they were probably better off as friends
99.99% of the time, johnny is annoying and teasing her
#1 wingman, likes to introduce her to new people if he thinks they’d get along
not that many fans are aware of their friendship, if anything they think they’re secretly dating because of the mini interactions they have
a cat and dog friendship in which their differences are what makes them closer
Tumblr media
JENNIE -
met at yg when jhené was visiting jiyong (😳) at his studio
they wanted to be friends since they were both the same age, but weren’t that close at the beginning
began to become really close when they started to go out more often with one another, realizing that they had a lot in common
jhené acts more like an older sister to jennie, even though jennie is a little older
a well known friendship, because they’re spotted hanging out a lot. dispatch photos of the two of them walking went viral due to their visuals

Moon Taeil
Taeil is studying a Chemisty Masters. He completed the undergrad and met a girl. The year below and didn't want to do long distance. So he signed up for a master's course so they could stay in the same area. And he has to admit it was definitely a good choice. Not only is he not having to worry about getting a job, loosing his missus to someone else or having to part from his mainly younger best friends.
He considers himself old now and therefore, isn't involved in any of the society's or sports clubs. He also can't be bothered, not between labs and reports he's got to write. He can barely make time to play fortnite yet alone serious sports. But he will sneak into any of the parties being hosted by the societies his friends are a part of. Will bring his own bottle of Gin and never take it home but its all about the atmosphere. And hanging out with his friends.
In class, Taeil works with the same lab partner for everything. He hasn't changed since September and has no intent to. He's not big on making more friends than necessary and he's got this tight bond with his current partner and therefore, doesn't bother looking for anyone else if they have to do group work. He's studious and his reports are always written well. There's also a little smiling moon placed in the top corner of any one he has to print out. It's completely against the guideline published but its so cute he gets away with it each time. Plus he's also a major teacher's pet and will stay late to help clean the lab after a session.
On a night out Taeil is plastered. He's drunk out of his mind but it's the way he likes to be. He's buying everyone drinks. His bank accounts hurts at the end of the night but he only sees it as a good night. He has no interest in pulling or trying to flirt with anyone he's a committed man. But he will attempt to help his other friends settle down. Therefore, he's everyone's wingman. A shit one but its the effort that counts. If he's lost he's by the bar ordering shots for someone he thinks is sobering up too fast.
John Suh / Johnny
What would the great Johnny Suh study at university. Well its nothing you expect it to be. He's studying building surveying. Yeah you heard that right. And he's so proud of it. The looks he gets when people ask him what he does and that's his answer. This big tall buff guy who kinda screams like he's studying something sporty. He's all about buildings. Wont even try to say he's doing archetecture. Rather he'll just bring out a folder of photos on his phone which are just him in his High Vis Jacket in a multitude of poses.
Johnny is the captain of the Rugby team, that's how he met and then adopted Jeno. He can be seen only on Wednesday at the student night wearing his rugby uniform, the university mascot drawn on his face and a bottle of beer in his hand. He starts the sing along of the rugby boys as they walk through campus. You'll know the one, where they talk or chant about their appendages. He cheers the loudest when one of the newer players join in
In class Johnny is that one guy that everyone loves. He's fun he's entertaining and he's just so nice. He's always there to help his other peeps when they're struggling responding to the questions in the course group chat on Facebook. He send's merry Christmas and happy holidays messages without fail. The cutest little messages and stuff and if you didn't expect this great six foot something guy behind the screen you'd be correct. He's so nice and polite and seemingly hard working that he can get away with anything. You wouldn't notice that he does fuck all in a group project. He's just so present you think he's contributed loads. Until you notice the only writing he has on the entire worksheet is his name.
Johnny is the ultimate party planner. He's always responsible for organising the house party or pre's and he gets absolutely everyone around. He know's Jeno and next thing you know the rest of the younger guys are round his house and Johnny's suddenly got like 7 20 something year old sons. He's bringing all the snacks and an endless supply of Magners. Anyone wants a drink, help yourself. On a night out he's the first to break off from the group. He's straight to the smoking area to light up his juul. He spends a little too long there cause he's too busy flirting but he leaves with their insta and then goes to try and bully Mark onto the dance floor. But when Mark protests and he's told to leave Taeyong's son alone, his best partner is crime Jaehyun is right by his side to go thot drop to the 90s club hits playing on the floor.
Lee Taeyong
Taeyong is another masters student. His first degree was in illustration and he hated it. Completely put him off art. He never wanted to draw for a living ever again. Never again. But he didn't know what to do with his degree. That was until he went to a careers event and there was an art therapist present, and he knew this was his calling. Or perhaps he was desperate and the way the man talked seemed to draw him in. Therefore, his masters is art therapy.
Taeyong used to be the president of the music society, and he could have stayed on another year when he started his masters. But he decided to take a step back and instead focus on his studies. Or at least pretend to. Now he just focuses on not killing his housemates and wondering why he stayed in a student house for another year. Not when he could have afforded a studio apartment.
Taeyong feels a new life for art by doing his masters course. He's slowly falling back in love with the thing his first degree ruined for him. And the therapy side is so interesting and new to him that he's constantly amazed. To the point where he goes and actually does the further reading. He might be the only one in the class to do so but that doesn't stop him. The lecturers love him because of his genuine interest in the subject and he always gets the opportunity for anything cool they put on. His interest though can be a little dangerous as he's constantly testing his new techniques out on his roommates and if he has to see one more dick drawn by Yuta one of them will not be attending lectures the next day.
Taeyong contrary to popular belief is not the mom friend on a night out. He is the next morning. But on the night out he's wild. A lightweight who sticks to drinking wine only, he likes to belief he's the light and life of the party. He isn't really but he is the one on the tables at the club throwing the best dance moves. Every time he hits the dance floor its like he starts a performance and you can't take your eyes away. Somehow he's still in control of his movement. It's a miracle but he does it somehow. And the next morning he refuses to admit he was once again performing at the club like he was on a stage in front of millions as he's forcing bread down the throats of every single housemate.
Nakamoto Yuta
Yuta doesn't seem to be a big reader when you look at him. You'd never think he'd spend most of his university time bent over a book reading it to be able to write the report about it. Probably because he doesn't but he's an English Literature student nevertheless.
Yuta belongs to the football, soccer, club and is the captain. He takes great pride in his team but will not hesitate to do a fun meaningless game often. In fact he was the one who suggested to Johnny that the football and the rugby team should play eachother at tennis of all sports to see who was the superior. Before a big match Yuta attempts to organise more practice, but its never okayed by the coach. He still goes to the pitch to wait and is disappointed every time when nobody turns up to his unofficial training session.
Yuta loves his English literature class. Mainly because they do deep dives into the book and he secretly does love reading he just doesn't like being told what books to read. He's passionate about Brontè and can tell you almost anything about the twilight universe. But he absolutely refuses to read the books for the assignments. Rather he'll scroll his way through a couple summaries, a wikipedia page and one of those websites that publish old essays instead. His grades are high and he's yet to be caught not having read really any of the books they've worked on. Rather he just flings around the terminology and hopes its actually being used. Yuta attends every lecture, not because he wants to learn. Rather because he loves going in to his class and talking to the rest of the students on his course. He's a part of a mainly female friendship group and he's not hesitant to tell them when they deserve better than the guy that's stringing them on. He's always there to remind them how they truly deserve to be treated and point out the red flags when the girls try to justify staying with them. He wouldn't ever date any of them, and he's sure many of them think he swings for the other team only. But like he's not going to protest. Unless they're being mistreated by their partners and they need to wake up. He also makes a small fortune selling his old notes to students in the year below, Jaemin has set up a monthly subscription pay to ensure he gets all the notes he can't be bothered to take.
At a party Yuta can be found drinking some sort of liquor and chatting to Doyoung in the corner. The pair are laughing like school girls and having the times of their lives. If you ever approach expect to be disgusted and possibly confused considering how much of a strong feminist he is. The pair can be found having the most controversial conversations possible. Yuta just wants to argue though and Doyoung presents a very good opportunity. When asked later he will never deny what you heard nor excuse his words, only gives a meek smile and then disappears. He's found in the grimiest bathroom normally and he's not alone. Let's leave that one up to the imagination. But he's the self proclaimed king of one night stands.
Kim Dongyoung / Doyoung
Doyoung was confused at first over what subject to take. He was torn between law and criminology. To the point where he had applied and had offers for both courses some of which being at the same university. However, when it came to results days he ended up on the criminology course. He's not pressed though.
Doyoung is not involved in any societies or sports. However, he is pretty involved in another aspect of the university community. He's very frequently involved in the university confessions page on Facebook. He's actually one of the admins. And he loves to approve and post the more controversial confessions. Especially the ones which are most likely to cause massive arguments between courses. He'll accept the confession post it and then just sit back and watch the chaos. He's Admin C.
Class wise Doyoung loves the argumentative side of the subject. Why wouldn't he be involved in the discussions and debates. It's his favourite part and he's always team captain. But when it's normal classwork he's just as involved. In his opinion if he's paying all this money for the course he's going to get as much out of it as possible. He'll do the snazzy presentation for your group project with the transitions background noises and memes. You get high scores because of this presentation. He's top of the class and has no intent of letting that position go to someone else.
On a night out he can be seen purposefully trying to stir the pot. He's a shit starter and proud and its even worse when drunk. You think someone is looking at you funny, he'll say they are and then go with you to confront them. He'll talk about something controversial and try to play devils advocate just to watch your reaction. He is also the one to have the evidence of what happened on his snapchat the next morning. A useful ally to have if you want those pictures deleted.
Jung Yoonoh/ Jaehyun
Big, tall, kinda scary looking Jaehyun is studying education. He's always wanted to be a dad, but his parents warned him of the problems of being a teenaged dad. And then again at having kids really young before you have the money needed to support them. So he had to suck up the desire to be a father until he found an happy alternative. Enter Jaehyun studying to be an Early years, ages 4-8, teacher. He can be the school father to these children and then hand them back to their parents in the afternoon.
Jaehyun used to be part of the football team until he realised he couldn't be bothered. He then tried to dabble in some of the societies but he couldn't find one he enjoyed. Rather he settled in becoming one of the campus crushes. Running a successful instagram account and taking a part in the social media take-over event the student union hosted.
Jaehyun loves his course only when he's out working on placement within the school setting. He hates the class work. But when he's in class that's where he shines, well most of the time. He loves the kids, and they love him. The bond he builds is so strong and it normally works very well in his favour the class listening to what he wants them to do and everything generally seems to go well for him. He's also a hit with the female teachers who are supervising him. To the point where he can get away with nearly anything. He'll never forget the one time he turned up after a heavy night out, hanging out of his boots, to the point he was throwing up in the students toilet and he's charm and good looks meant the female teacher he was working with let him off the hook. He swore never to drink again before going to work but he totally owed it to her for not reporting him to the university for being completely out of sorts to the point where he just put on a film all afternoon and snoozed on the desk.
When he's not got work the next morning Jaehyun is down for the longest night out he can muster. He will drag everyone to the one club that closes at 6am. By the end of the night there's only a few strong solider's left, namely Johnny, Yuta Jungwoo and himself, but he'd never stop. His wallet hurts after paying all the entry fees but it was completely worth it. His favourite student night is the naughties night that is hosted every term, he's screaming along to Beyonce and Fall out boy all night along. He's hit hard by the hangover the next morning but his cuddle buddy Taeyong is more than used to it by now and the pair sit watching reruns of Judge Judy and feeling sorry for themselves.

Kim Jungwoo
Jungwoo might arguably be the smartest of the bunch and he won't let you forget when he's proudly stating he studies Engineering. He deserves to as well cause the course is hard. He's a mathematical genius and he's dream is to go on to study robotics afterwards.
Jungwoo is a proud member of the Harry Potter society. Well kinda, his housemates all know he's a part of the society and he's very active talking about it to them all. But he won't actively tell people he's apart of it outside his close friends. It's mainly because he's embarrassed that he's one of the younger members normally heavily surrounded by middle aged women. But he wouldn't leave, he's too deep in the fan fiction they're collectively writing. #JusticeforWolfStar.
Jungwoo is relatively quiet in class choosing to stick with his selected course mate group. He doesn't tend to speak to anyone outside his tutor group and instead focuses more on just trying to pass each assignment sent his way. He does try his hardest to stay on top of the work assigned for him, and tries to put his effort in. But as he gets closer and closer to the end of the course he cannot find it in himself to put as much effort in as he did in his second year, he was pissed or high for most of his first year to say he was putting his uttermost effort in. He is however, well known for bringing the best weed brownies to the tutor group parties. It's a secret recipe he refuses to tell anyone how he does it.
If you've lost Jungwoo on a night out he's 1000% in the smoking area. If he's not lit up he's sat there chatting people up left right and centre. It's his favourite socialisation point and he states he can always find the most interesting people in the smoking area. And normally get a couple of free cigarettes out of it. He's the first to ask if you've got a lighter he can use. He's a big fan of hitting the gay club at about 3am because their drinks are normally cheaper and it stays open the latest. Also because there's a chance he'll bump into a drag queen.

Osaki Shotaro
Shotaro is another student studying theatre studies. At first he wanted to just study Dance but then decided he liked the idea of studying more of the entire theatre style. So he randomly applied for one theatre studies course. He was accepted and didn't look back.
Therefore, as part of the group studying theatre he has to take part in the productions the university put on. Well it's not a exact demand for the course but it's heavily implied. And Shotaro doesn't mind, especially when he successfully lands the role of Dance captain every single time. It's his favourite thing to go up to the cast announcement list and see his name next to dance captain. He also loves attending all the costume fittings ensuring to arrive as early as possible and drag it out for a little while longer. It's most likely because he's got a crush on one of the students working on the costumes, but he's way too shy to actually ask them out.
Shotaro can normally be found staying late in some of the practice rooms. Despite his dancing skills, being part of the theatre course means he has to be involved in the other sides and his confidence is lacking. Therefore, he is working his hardest until he feels like he's on par with some of the other students. He mainly gets help from Haechan who's taken a liking to the other boy and the pairs mutual love for Justin Bieber solidified their friendship.
Another lightweight, Shotaro is cautious of how much he has to drink at any point of the night. He likes to still be in control and therefore has never been black out drunk. But he has tried a little bit of everything. Plus Yuta has practically adopted him on nights out and therefore, if Shotaro is tempted for a drink he'll get one but never has to pay for it. And no Yuta doesn't pay for it either but they do con some unsuspecting person into paying for them both.
Jung Sungchan
Sungchan was another confused at first on which subject he wanted to study at university. He was torn between just Media and then the more specific Film Studies. Though after one very intense talk from a Film studies tutor at sixth form he did chose Film studies.
He's also involved in the school productions, he has the responsibility of filming the performances, well at least one or two of them, so that they can upload them to the theatre society's YouTube channel. He is also in charge of organising the lightening of the show when he's not working the camera. When he has to focus on the recording he just ends up praying the lightening works as he leaves it partially under the control of Jisung and knows if he dares has a go at the societies baby he's dead.
Sungchan is that one member of the class who seems to always have the best editing software on his laptop and the most intense amount of knowledge regarding it. When anyone asks he only states it because he didn't want to look like an idiot on his first couple days. The truth is that he runs a rather successful YouTube channel where he makes edits and crack videos. Sony after effects is his best friend.
On a night out Sungchan lets loose. He absolutely loves the feeling of alcohol in his system. He becomes clumsy and for his size it can cause many problems but he wouldn't have it any other way. He tends to have to be guided through a dance floor by someone else to avoid bumping into people and spilling his over priced double vodka and coke. He's desperate to head for food at about 2am and rushes to follow someone the instant they mention being hungry.

Screening Hearts (Part 6)
Alrighty, lovelies! Here it is. The last part! Enjoy the fluff!
........................................................
The rest of the week passed in a whirlwind of conference calls, meetings, paperwork, and pointless emails to “touch base” on things. Elide figured her boss just wanted to look competent at interpersonal skills. Before she was ready for it, Thursday morning dawned. She woke up that morning and went through a routine, taking comfort in everyday things that steadied her, grounded her, wrapping the only things she was sure of around herself like armor.
What if we can’t work together? What if he tries to talk to me again? I do not need a reason for my boss to think I’m not competent.
Thoughts and worries swirled around in Elide’s mind. She stopped by her favorite coffee shop before work, ordering an extra shot in her dirty chai that morning, a cheesey, buttery croissant to comfort herself. She hadn’t been able to forget the fact that he never apologized for asking her out. She cleared her mind of those thoughts and went to work.
She walked into the conference room, the first face-to-face meeting of the department heads and Whitethorn Security Services. She spotted Rowan listening to her boss ramble on. Man, he’s good, Elide thought, admiring the way he still looked like he was invested in what was being said. His only tell was the set of his jaw. She wondered how long until the muscles started jumping and his teeth started to grind.
Finding an empty seat, Elide startled as two giant arms swept around her shoulders.
“Ferys, I swear if you spill my coffee, I’ll hack every single account you have,” she threatened as the golden man pecked a kiss on her cheek.
“Oh, come on, El. I’d never waste good chai like that,” he teased back. He noticed her quirked eyebrow. “You’re a creature of habit. We all know that’s one of your favorites.”
Just then, Lorcan entered the room.
“As long as there’s plenty of vanilla and cinnamon and not too much cardamom,” Lorcan added. He looked unsure, as if saying those words would spark World War III.
“See, Elle-belle, we all know you,” Fenrys said with a wink. He added emphasis on the all part.
She glared at him through the corner of her eyes.He just smirked, settling in for the meeting.
Great. Everyone’s got an opinion.
…..
It took all of Lorcan’s concentration, but he managed to be flawlessly professional through the meeting, then that day as they broke out into their teams. Working with Elide went like a dream. She was so clever and you could just see how she loved using that brain to make services better. She thought out of the box, about how to make things easier for clients and customers.
We make a good team, he thought. Then immediately tamped down that line of thinking. Elide would come to him when she was ready, if she ever was. Meanwhile, he would be content with their working partnership. He had to be.
That line of thinking was challenged by lunch on Friday, though, much to his irritation. They were eating a catered lunch in the conference room and Rowan was showing off a video of Elspeth playing with Connall.
“Yeah, well we all know I’m the favorite uncle. She just knows Con’s a push over and will give herice cream,” Fenrys boasted.
“You? No way, pup. Ellie and Uncle Lorcan are best of friends,” Lorcan said, scoffing and puffing up his chest.
Just then, Elide walked in and rolled her eyes.
“Got something to say, Lochan?” asked Lorcan, a challenging and teasing tone coming through. His pulse quickened. Ellie and work were their only safe zones right now, but he still didn’t know if she’d let him tease her.
“We all know that I’m Ellie’s favorite, period. We even have a secret handshake now. Besides, we share names. It’s not like she can mess up saying ‘El,’” Elide sassed back. Then with a smirk, she added, “Isn’t that right, Wortie?”
Lorcan blushed furiously, but held his chin up high and pointed a finger. “I will allow that sweet, little princess to mess up my name as long as she pleases. It’s not her fault that two-year olds can’t do L very well. And, Fenrys, I swear to Hellas that she’s the only one who gets to call me that.”
“Hey! Why does everyone assume that I’ll do something? El calling me out over coffee yesterday and now you, Wortie? Rude!”
He barely missed the condiment packages flying at his head from multiple directions.
This, Lorcan thought, pleading to Anneith and Hellas both, this is what I missed. Please, let this last.
….
Elide’s chest tightened as they all bantered back and forth. She missed her friend. She missed their banter. She missed him. It made for a very long afternoon. It passed too slow and too fast at the same time. Before she knew it, computers were being turned off, systems powered down, security measures booted off.
She was shouldering her bag and grabbing her jacket to head to the door when Fenrys grabbed the handle and slipped his arm through hers.
“We’re going down to Maclearen’s for a drink. Join, yeah?”
“Who’s ‘we’?”
“Ro, Lorcan, me… Aelin’s joining us there,” Fen replied. He saw her hesitate and pulled out the bribery. “I’ll buy you the first round and give you a shoulder rub.”
“Deal. Who could say no to those hands?” Elide quipped back.
“Right? That’s what my dates always say at least.”
Elide threw her head back and cackled, letting him lead her outside. ….
The crowd at the pub was surprisingly thin for a Friday night. The group quickly found a table and ordered their first round of drinks. Aelin soon joined them, immediately pulling attention to a story of Elspeth’s latest escapades.
“Sorry I’m late. Ellie decided it was the most important thing in the world to discover what surfaces makeup looks best on and which colors are the best base.”
Rowan looked amused and horrified all at once. “She didn’t? And what’s her expert opinion?”
“Her favorite seems to be bright blue and green eyeshadow over cream texture walls in the den. Which is why I’m late and I need a drink.”
“Brand new Johnny Walker on the rocks, love,” Fenrys said, sliding his drink over to her. “It’s my second and I need a reason to go talk to that bartender up there. She didn’t laugh at my last joke, so obviously I need to convince her of quality humor.”
Aelin raised her glass. “Here’s to smarter-than-average bartenders who know better.”
Rowan and Lorcan snickered.
“I think I’ll go get a second round, too. I can play wingman and play witness to this disaster at the same time,” Rowan said, clapping Fenrys on the back, standing and dragging the protesting man up to the bar.
“I think I’ll join in on this,” Aelin said, eyes glittering. “Either of you need anything?”
Lorcan glanced down at his glass, more than half full still, then looked to Elide’s drink. The bottle was barely at half.
“I’m good,” he told Aelin, clearing his throat.
Aelin sauntered away, but then threw a glance over her shoulder at the two of them. She reached the bar, leaning on Rowan’s shoulder.
“What are you doing, Fireheart?”
“Moi? What ever are you talking about?” Aelin asked innocently. She batted her eyelashes for effect.
Fenrys snorted. “A, you are incorrigible. And scheming. You seriously gonna push them into talking?”
“If you haven’t noticed, neither one of them are drinking much and I swear they’re purposely not looking at each other. I’m just creating the moment for some conversation. Now, would you two shut up so I can spy in peace?”
...
Elide was a little surprised Lorcan wasn’t on his second drink yet. He wasn’t an alcoholic by any means, but he appreciated good liquor. He also was not a lightweight, so she couldn’t understand why he was still on his first bourbon. She said as much to him, no bite in her words, just curiosity.
“Seems like a better idea to go slow and light tonight,” he replied, huffing a laugh. “Apparently, I can be as stupid as the next guy when I’m in too deep.”
Elide studied him then. Before she could think of what she was saying, she blurted, “Salvaterre, how come you didn’t apologize for asking me out? You’ve said you were sorry for being drunk and high on benadryl, you’ve apologized for hurting me, for the words you said, for not paying attention. But, you’ve never apologized for asking me on a date. Why?”
“Because I’m not sorry for that. I always intended to ask you,” Lorcan replied, seriously. He frowned, hesitation crossing his brow. “Should I be sorry for it?”
Before she could reply, he rushed on. “You said something the other night, on the phone. You said you believed in me, believed that I’d make a good partner. Did you mean it?”
She looked up at his eyes, saw hesitation there. A vulnerability there that never came out. “Yes,” she breathed.
“In general?... Or, for you?”
“Can it be both?” she asked, a bite in her voice to cover up her nervousness. She drew herself up to her full height, faking a courage she didn’t feel. “Can’t I think that if you ever pulled your head out of your ass and let down your walls, you’d be great to some girl out there and she’d be the luckiest one alive? And is it a problem if I had wished that girl was me?”
She barely got the words out before his lips crashed into hers.
….
He moved before he thought it, had moved around the table and taken the seat next to her. As he pressed his lips to hers, his hand slipped around her neck, the other cupping her cheek. Too soon, he pulled back, resting his forehead against hers.
“And now?” He asked breathlessly, quietly.
Time had stopped. He waited for her reply.
“I want to say yes, because it’s the truth,” Elide whispered against his lips. “I want to tell you I still wish I was that girl. But if I do, I give you the power to hurt me again, to let me down again. And as much as I doubt you will, it scared the hell out of me.”
“I promise, Elide Lochan, to spend as much time as possible proving to you that I’m sorry and would never, ever, hurt you or let you down again. But I’m not stupid. I’m a man and I’m human. I probably will do dumb shit many more times. But I swear to never break your trust like that again. I will spend however long it takes proving it to you. And I’ll wait, Elide Lochan. I will let you be the one to decide the next step. Because I want you to feel safe with me, not scared.” The words left Lorcan in a rush, his face impossibly close to hers, his hands still on her neck and cheek, his eyes sincere and searching.
“Ask me on a date,” she said.
“What?” Lorcan asked, startled.
“Ask me on a date, Salvaterre.” “Go on a date with me, Lochan.”
“Now ask me to go home with you tonight.”
“So soon?” He teased, eyes sparkling. “Come home with me tonight, Lochan.”
“Now ask me to be yours.”
Lorcan swallowed hard. “Be mine, Elide Lochan.”
“I’ll think about it, Salvaterre. I mean, we haven’t been on that date or even-ahh!” Elide squealed as Lorcan stood up, pulling her up in his arms and crashed his mouth over hers again. His arms swept around her waist and he dipped her, right there in that pub.
“I’m yours, Lorcan Salvaterre,” Elide told him, her eyes sincere and open.
In the background, they heard Fenrys whistle, Rowan clap, and Aelin shout, “Told ya! Now pay up, Buzzard.”
“Let’s get out of here, yeah?” Lorcan asked.
“Please,” Elide said, laughing as they stood up. She slipped her hand through his, feeling safe and calm for the first time in weeks.

Schitt’s Creek 6x06 thoughts
love that the video ended up being a good viral video and nothing that destroyed moira and alexis, love that it benefit them tremendously, especially alexis, she deserves it!
the whole ronnie, johnny, roland wingman stuff for bob was funny and really sweet that they want to help bob. he deserves love!
ok so patrick not remembering who jake was is kinda weird to me just cause it was a big deal to him when he met him in s4 and the whole throuple thing, but i think it might be because back then he was so new to everything that seeing jake freaked him but got over it and then forgot about it i guess
jake hitting on patrick but not david was really funny and david being like im also wearing a sweater lmaoooo they’re all himbos and i love them
patrick being all flustered by jake hitting on him was very adorable
david not actually cooking was so funny like everyone was like whys david holding a spatula, he held it because patrick asked him to, much more sense now lol
“whiskey or whatever” BRO WANTS TO FUCK and i mean duh
“for what its worth, you make a beautiful couple” jake knows
them discussing what whiskey means was very cute/ on brand for patrick to be so naive to think it just means drinks
i love a healthy relationship talking boundaries and exploring things together but it just felt a little out of place given the whole patrick not wanting to date other guys thing (obv i know this wasnt about ‘dating’ other guys) and them getting married, i might be alone in this and idrc but yeah anyway still a very funny scene, jake is king of himbos gotta love him
also PATRICK TIDDIES OUT AND ARMS HELLO WOW
THE LEATHER JACKET, GD DAVID
david teasing patrick and all that was so fucking cute i cant, like bitch we know ur gonna go home and fuck the shit out of each other looking like FULL MEALS in those outfits
STEVIE!!!!!!
of course she would be at this orgy hosted by jake
also “can i not have one thing to myself?” and davids “no” - classic
alexis and ted, MY HEART
she wanted to stay but also go because of him and when he basically chose for her (which i mean she was going to anyway) u can kind of see how sad she really is to stay without him and how quick he had to cut off and her sad little “love you” to the blackened screen, ugh my heart. i know they’ll be okay but it still made me hurt a bit for her, she misses him a lot and wont see him for months and them communicating thru skype has not gone well for them.
the preview for next week though!!!!!!!!!!!! we’re getting the wine guy back (herb lingfucker or whatever his name actually was), david and patrick eating pizza on his bed at the motel and the infamous patrick and johnny scene!!! GOD

JJBA Secret Santa!
So here’s my gift for @neoncat666 for @jjba-secret-santa, hope you enjoy it!
Tags: GyJo, CaeJose, Coffee Shop AU, Fluff
“Wake up!” Joseph shouts into his cousin, Johnny’s ear
“What the hell do you want?” Johnny groans, rolling over to check and see god knows what time his idiot of a cousin woke him up
“Didn’t you hear?”
“Hear what?”
“That new coffee shop downtown. I heard from Suzie Q that they got two hot Italian baristas working that place. One’s a blonde.”
“Sounds up your alley.” Johnny rolls onto his other side and covers his face with a pillow as he desperately tried to get back to sleep
“C’mon you gotta go with me.”
“Why?”
“Because I need a wingman.” Joseph whines. Even though Johnny couldn’t see it, he knew that with the warble in his voice; Joseph was doing his extreme puppy dog face to get Johnny to sympathize for him
“No. I’ll just make Nescafé at… 11.”
“In the morning?!” Joseph asks incredulously
“Exactly, now get out of my room.”
“No.”
“That wasn’t a question. Get out.” Johnny throws his pillow at Joseph in order to kick him outs
“If you go with me to the café… I’ll buy your drink… And a pastry!”
“Hard pass.” Johnny goes to pick his pillow up and dramatically digs himself back under the covers of his warm bed
“I’ll buy you beers later I swear.”
“Not bud light?”
“Not even natty.”
“Fine.” Johnny crawls out of his bed and pulls himself into the shower and washes himself off before crawling back to his room and get dressed. As he throws his coat on, Joseph runs to start up the car. Johnny hops into the passenger side of Joseph’s car and they drive to the college town’s downtown area. Joseph parks in a handicap spot and pulls out crutches for Johnny. Joseph clears room for his cousin, and they wait in line to order their drinks. Shit. That’s all Johnny could think as the cute blonde working the register flipped his hair out of his face with the back of his hand as he punched some numbers into the register and the machine opens. Meanwhile, Joseph was already drooling over the blonde as the steam from the espresso machine blows into his face and tousles his hair. After Johnny realizes they’re holding up the line, he hits Joseph’s shin with his crutch and tells him to move forward.
“What can I get for you two?” The cashier asks, a slight Italian accent that he was clearly trying to hide coming out
“Just a latte.” Johnny tells him. The man smiles at Johnny and started twirling the end of his long hair as he looked at him, desperately hoping Johnny was paying attention to him.
“I’d like… I’d like…” Joseph tries to interject before shouting, “Double shot mocha!!”
“Alright.” He frowns at Joseph and bitterly punches the keys on the register, “That’ll be 6.50.” Joseph nods and fishes out his wallet as Johnny goes scouting for a table. All the tables seemed to be full, when a table opens up and Johnny takes it as quickly as he can. Instead of helping the man on the drink bar, the cashier comes out and throws a wet rag onto the table Johnny sat at. “Sorry. Just need to clean up this table.” He leans over a bit further than he should, yelping as his back makes a snapping noise that Johnny knew wasn’t normal. He quickly bounds back into a regular position and runs back behind the counter. Johnny laughed to himself a little bit. He glances over where his obnoxious cousin was trying too hard to flirt with the barista, shoving stirring stick straws up his nose and attempted to blow them out really hard. The man on the other side of the counter wouldn’t even give him the time of day as he sent out the latte and mocha and placed his hand out for a tip from the annoying Joestar. Joseph, being the idiot that he was, instead smacks the barista’s hand and gives him an overly friendly handshake instead. Johnny watches and slinks himself down in his seat, not wanting to be associated with the airhead that drove him here. Joseph carries the drinks over, and Joseph says,
“I think I’m gonna get that barista’s number.”
“Joseph, he was so annoyed with you.”
“He’s so cute.” Joseph sighs before taking a sip of his coffee and promptly spitting it out, too hot for his mouth, “I swear Johnny. I’m gonna get his number.”
“Sure you are JoJo.” Johnny blows gently onto his coffee before taking a sip. It was perfect. While the art on the top of the drink was kind of ruined by Johnny’s lips, the foam clearly shaped like a heart. Johnny’s face turned the slightest of red as he watched the cashier quickly look away when he noticed that Johnny knew he was looking at him. After finishing his mocha, Joseph brings his cup up to the counter to start chatting up the barista again. Johnny decides to run to the bathroom while Joseph unsuccessfully tries to woo the other man. He comes back to see Joseph and he were practically the only customers in the store, and Joseph was pinned to the counter, being kissed passionately by the barista. Johnny sighs and starts making his way to Joseph’s car when the cashier must have gotten his head out of the clouds and approaches Johnny.
“So… how was your drink?” He starts
“It was… really good. Thanks.” Johnny says
“I know this is probably weird, but you’re super cute and… can I get your number?”
“Is my cousin going to get… your coworker’s number?” He asks before having to yell, “Joseph, don’t do that!”
“What?!” Joseph scoffs, before going back to kissing
“Definitely.” The cashier laughs at Johnny’s cousin and his coworker, “He’s also my cousin.”
“What a coincidence.” Johnny joins in, “Johnny.”
“Huh?”
“That’s my name.”
“Oh. Oh shit, I’m Gyro, Gyro Zeppeli.” The guy finally introduces himself and holds a hand out for Johnny. Johnny goes in for a handshake and Gyro looks down at the exchange in confusion. “I was going to ask if I could put my number in your phone.”
“Oh.” Johnny fumbles and pulls his phone out of his pocket before handing it over to Gyro. Gyro excitedly types his number in and hands it back to Johnny.
“Thank you. I’ll definitely be calling you for a date.”
“Only if I can get a double date with my cousin.” They look over at their cousins. Joseph’s shirt was being pulled on by the barista as their lips met for one last kiss before Joseph walked over to Johnny in a daze
“Shouldn’t be a problem.” Gyro laughs
“I told you… I told you I’d get Caesar’s number.” Joseph laughs to himself
“Great. Now drive us home.” Johnny shoves his cousin out the door as he waves back to his bombshell blonde as Gyro flashes a smile at Johnny as they get into Joseph’s van. Maybe Joseph wasn’t so bad, Johnny thought to himself. After all, without him, he never would have met Gyro.

Part 1   Part 2   Part 3   Part 4   Part 5
Pairing: EZ Reyes x Camila
Warnings: None
Word count: 1.5k
***Angel can be a little shit, but he’s a good wingman***
“You should invite her to the clubhouse for the party this weekend. Show her around the place, your life you know.”
EZ nodded, taking another swig of beer as he looked forward, Angel doing the same, both sat on the couch in their father’s home.
“I just don’t know if it’s too early. We’ve only been on a couple dates. She knows about the MC but I just…I don’t know.”
Angel knitted his brows as he looked at his baby brother.
“You don’t know what? She likes you, you like her, she makes you happy and she’s accepted that you’re in the club. What’s the problem?”
EZ stayed quiet, wishing that he could confide in his brother and tell him the truth. Tell him that he didn’t want to drag her into the mess, that he didn’t want her getting tangled up in the cartel and the club and the DEA deal, but of course that was a secret that he couldn’t share. Not with Angel. So EZ shrugged, coming up with an excuse.
“I just don’t wanna move too fast. Soon.”
Angel nodded silently, feeling like there was something his brother wasn’t telling him, but he left it alone. He figured he was probably still trying to get back into the swing of things and move on from the situation with Emily. Angel would be happy when he finally moved on and allowed himself to be happy, but until then, he would support his brother no matter what he chose. Both boys stood up as Felipe called out to them, telling them lunch was ready and they headed to the kitchen to grab their plates.
They ate together as a family, making small talk about the club and the shop and before long they had finished up, Angel saying that he had to get going, him and Coco having plans. The older brother left after saying goodbye, EZ and Felipe there together along when they began talking, Felipe filling EZ in on what had happened that day at the shop when KJ had shown up and Camila was there.
“He came in before I could get her out. We were talking and I wasn’t paying attention. He knew her name. She played it off well but she’s a smart kid. It was obvious she was uneasy at him knowing her. I got her out quickly, but he still saw her, with me having lunch. He’s going to know that she’s close with us now. You need to figure out what you’re doing with her. If you want something serious, tell her. If not…end it. But you can’t have both Ezekiel. You’re already living with enough secrets. She can’t be another one.”
EZ nodded silently, biting at the inside of his cheek as he listened to his fathers’ words. He knew he was right. He needed to decide what he wanted. If he wanted Camila just as a friend or if he wanted her as something more. Felipe could see the war waging behind his son’s eyes, and he reached over to drop a comforting hand onto his shoulder, squeezing softly.
“Whatever you choose, I’m behind you mijo. Don’t forget that.”
Felipe pulled his son further into him, pressing a kiss to the top of EZ’s head, a soft smile coming to his lips.
“I really like her pops.”
The older man smiled in return and nodded his head at his son in agreement.
“So do I.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Long time no see.”
Camila looked up from the stack of books in front of her to see the older Reyes brother standing in front of her and another man she hadn’t seen before, shaggy dark hair and a kutte as well.  Camila smiled at the two men, looking back at Angel.
“What’s up?”
Angel shrugged looking around the bookshop.
“Oh nothing, just checking in.”
Camila eyed him with a smirk, waiting for him to continue, which he did leaning down to rest his forearms on the counter.
“And I may have also come by to invite you to a party we’re having this weekend. EZ wanted to come and tell you himself but he got a little busy, so he sent me.”
Angel gave a grin and Coco did as well, knowing full well that was a lie and playing along.
 “It’ll be cool, you should come.”
Angel nodded, pointing over at Coco with his thumb.
“This is Johnny, we call him Coco.”
The other Mayan reached his hand out for Camila to shake and she did with a smile as did he.
“I’m Camila.”
“Nice to meet you.”
Angel watched the interaction and smiled, speaking again.
“So, the party will start this Friday, around 8 PM. It isn’t anything crazy, just a little get-together. Music, food, drinks, dancing, playing pool, just chilling. Wear whatever.”
“That sounds cool. I haven’t really done anything fun since I moved here. I’ll be there.”
 Angel grinned and slapped his hand on the countertop, standing up straight.
“Cool. Take my number so you can call, and we’ll let you in.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EZ took a drag from his cigarette, exhaling the smoke through his nose as he looked around, his eyes settling on his brother who sat across the table from him, a girl in his lap grinding down to the rhythm of the music. He rolled his eyes and called out to him.
“What the hell am I waiting for Angel. I’ve been sitting here for 15 minutes waiting for my ‘surprise’.”
Angel looked away from the girl in his lap, a smirk on his lips as he looked at EZ.
“Just be patient baby brother. She’ll be here soon.”
EZ knitted his eyebrows in confusion for a moment before his eyes widened.
“You didn’t.”
Angel laughed, hands gripping the girl’s waist.
“Oh, but I did. Already ran it by Bish. He’s cool.”
EZ was about to lay into him when Angel’s phone rang, him answering it with an obnoxious smile and looking dead at his brother.
“You here Camila?”
EZ watched as Angel listened, nodding once before saying goodbye and hanging up, pointing over that the gate.
“Go let your girlfriend in.”
EZ snorted in disbelief but smirked nonetheless, unable to hide the satisfaction of hearing her being called his girl, even if she wasn’t. Yet.
He stood from his seat and made his way over to the gate, pulling it open just as he saw her headlights driving up. Camila pulled in slowly and he pointed over to the corner where she could park, closing the gate behind her and walking over to her door, smiling as she stepped out. He looked her over, liking to see her in her regular clothes, not her work clothes or date clothes. Just jeans, a regular white tee, and pink Nike Cortez. EZ smiled immediately, opening his arms to her. Camila smiled as well and stepped into his embrace, wrapping her arms around his middle. The two hugged for a moment before pulling apart, EZ resting his hand on the small of her back and guiding her over to where he had been sitting before. The girls that were there at the table looked at her suspiciously, but once they saw the smiles that came to both Angel and Coco’s face at the sight of her, they relaxed some and smiled softly as well. Camila locked eyes with Angel and waved, his throwing her a wink.
“Glad you could make it. EZ wouldn’t stop talking about getting you to come over.”
EZ made a mental note to kick Angel’s ass later, but for the time being, he would take it in stride, especially considering the bashful smile that came to her face. EZ tossed his arm around Camila’s shoulders and nodded towards the clubhouse.
“Come on, let's get you a drink.”
The two walked inside and EZ pointed over towards the bar, Tranq and Bishop sitting there talking. They looked over as the two walked up and smiled at Camila warmly.
“Hi, sweetheart.”
Bishop introduced himself to Camila, same as Tranq while EZ went and grabbed them both a beer. As he came back to stand at her side, he caught the end of Bishop’s sentence.
“-nice to finally meet you.”
Camila grinned and looked over at EZ as he handed her one of the beers.
“Nice to meet you too. Thanks for having me.”
Both Bishop and Tranq raised their glasses to her and she turned around walking with EZ.
“They were nice.”
EZ nodded and took a sip from his bottle, happy to see her comfortable.
“Yeah, they are. Can I get you anything else?”
Camila shook her head, smiling as EZ reached for her hand and began to lead her back outside. She noticed he was being touchier and while it gave her butterflies, she chucked it up to being purely possessive, making sure the people at the party knew she was there with him. It was different than she was used to, but she couldn’t deny that it made her feel a little giddy. They walked back outside, hand in hand and he softly maneuvered her in front of him to sit in the seat he was in before as he took the seat next to her. Coco smiled softly and nudged Gilly to get his attention, the girls also looking at the newcomer with friendly smiles. EZ knew it was all or nothing like his father had said and made up his mind, welcoming the new addition to his life.
“This is Camila.”

Spideypool fic rec #1
*** favorites
other recs by me: X
1. Seven Ways To Woo by ann_fortunately [one-shot, 10K, POV peter] ***
summary: "I have a mission. Seven days, two people, one purpose, and three years of doing it absolutely wrong according to the social rules of pursuing romance."
or: Peter and Wade have known each other for three years now. If in Peter's opinion Wade has suddenly started acting strangely, it's most probably true.
why you should read it: friends to lovers fic that is so sweet your teeth will rot on spot. A+ characterization with Peter Parker as a pining smart-ass, Wade Wilson as a smitten kitten, and me as a shaking mess. The pacing is consistent and easy, the wording is smooth, and every time I read it my stomach fills with butterflies.
2. Propositions by stuckybarnes [three-shot, 8K, POV peter]
summary: “Yeah…” Deadpool drawls. “Anyway, Pretty Boy, I have a proposition for you.” This makes Peter kind of want to throw up. Propositions by Deadpool always end up with them in varying degrees of pain, and a lot of explaining to do with the Avengers.
OR
Wade finally convinces a very tired Peter to go to New York Comic-Con with him and enter a Deadpool and Spider-Man cosplay contest, sure they'll win. Obviously. It doesn't go exactly as expected, and Peter is not thrilled.
why you should read it: pre-relationship fic with ASD Peter. More humor than fluff, but its a close call. Their relationship is well written and the characters feel lived in. The characters are fun and on spot, with a charming plot that is executed with as much grace as can be afforded to these two characters.
3. It Had to Be You by fancastical [two-shot, 20K, POV peter]
summary: Or, Five Times Deadpool Recognised Spider-Man and One Time He Didn't
why you should read it: friends to lovers. this fic was originally a one-shot, with the first chapter being the 5+1, but chapter two came in as a lovely surprise, and while I myself am hesitant to read or even like “afters” in fics, the second half feels as natural and is just as entertaining as the first part. It's the kind of fic you'll find yourself trying to hide your smile while reading and squealing with delight.
4. Peter's Ghost by QueenRamsia [three-shot, 27 K, POV wade]
summary: Peter is dead. He’s been dead for two years. But he’s still with Wade. He haunts him every second of the day. Wade turns around and there he is, watching him through his dingy apartment window. His voice has been added to the cacophony of Wade’s mind. And Ellie is growing up alone.
why you should read it: post-relationship. okay, not gonna lie: PLEASE be careful what mindset you go into when reading this. The entire thing is an angst fest, and at its lightest is bittersweet. When I finished reading, I couldn't even cry. The story does have a satisfying ending that I would describe as hopeful and deals with the aftermath of losing a loved one. Ellie is wonderfully written in this, and she and Wade share some tender moments and scenes that were stunning. The way they write grief and learning to live after loss is phenomenal, and the plot is captivating and entrancing.
5. morning in the burned house by antivenom [WIP, 34 K, POV alternating]
summary: Wade’s got a defense mechanism. Grin and bear it.
But the thing is, Wade’s angry into his bones.
(Or, this is what happens when a seemingly unassuming, run-of-the-mill hit gets personal)
why you should read it: enemies to friends to lovers. this isn't light-hearted Wade Wilson. It's more akin to his origin comics, where his laughs feel more like tears. The humor is dark yet charming, and while flashbacks are USUALLY to be a no-go for me, the author does a tremendous job of making every bit of their story captivating and enchanting. Wade and Peter learn about and grow from each other, and watching their relationship go from “fuck this guy” to something more is captivating and the author nails it.
6. Join the Club by HashtagLEH [WIP, 53 K, POV alternating]
summary: Homeless and mute after everything Peter has been through, he somehow makes friends with Deadpool, as Spiderman. And then he meets the Avengers, as Peter.
Or, alternatively: “Spidey and Deadpool: the Mute and the Motormouth” (a title by Deadpool).
why you should read it: pre-relationship ft. the Avengers. The fic focuses on Peter and coming of age in less than ideal circumstances and builds relationships that feel authentic and kind. It is an interesting take to have a character known for his quips silenced, but the author handles it well and with grace.
7. BF(F) by Carol989 [6/6, 10K, POV peter]
summary: Five times people thought Wade and Peter were a couple which, seriously, where did they get that from? They are not a couple, stop asking. They are just friends now, and did plenty of friend stuff. Like kissing. And one time people were right.
why you should read it: pre-relationship. Oblivious Peter, smitten Wade, dare I say more?
8. Half Your Age (Plus Seven) by fancastical [17/17, 80 K, POV peter]
summary: In which Deadpool has oddly specific and frustrating morals, Spider-Man has excellent friends, his lab partner has an opening for a bassist, Johnny Storm has the warmest feet, and everyone has had enough of hearing Peter talk about Wade Wilson (except Aunt May: she’s always glad to hear he’s back in town).
why you should read it: friends-to-still-friends-to-STILL-friends-to-lovers. Pining galore ft. Aunt May, Johnny Storm, Mj, and some curious band friends. While the focus is on Peter and coming to terms with his love life, the relationships he has with the other characters (BFF johnny storm is my weakness) are what make this fic. LOTS of relationships and character growth all throughout. For those of you who want a head over heels in love Peter pursuing Wade, this is the fic for you. For those of you hesitant to that (like me), this is also for you. Just... all of you, read this.
9.  In Which Peter's an Oblivious Idiot by coffea [one-shot, 3K, POV peter]
summary: The five times Wade tells Peter he loves him and the one time Peter gets his head out of his ass.
why you should read it: pre-relationship. oblivious peter and pining wade. sweet and funny and smooth as fuck.
10.  Off The Record by crookedswingset [16/16, 138 K, POV alternating] ***
summary: Peter Parker is a corporate lackey whose sole job is to root out problem executives who waste Oscorp’s money and time. Wade Wilson is a reserve Avenger on the hunt for a prize even Iron Man couldn’t nail down: the real identity of everyone’s favorite webhead.
Too bad most people think Spider-Man is Harry Osborn.
why you should read it: hands down my favorite spideypool fic. The world-building is fantastic, all the characters (and there are a LOT) are wonderfully written. If I could marry a work of art this would be it.
11. Petey and Wade are obviously an item, so why is Spiderman trying to be a Homewrecker? by isaDanCurtisproduction [21/21, 38 K, POV peter]
summary: So, Peter and Wade are dating. Wait, scratch that, they are totally engaged (Peter will show you the ring). Fiances for life, amiright?
Everything from here on out should be totally happy-go-lucky, right?
Right?
If your answer was, "Of course not, Peter's life will never be easy," then you're on the right track.
Peter's life is difficult, and as far as anyone (himself included) knows, it's never going to be easy.
...But why do the Avengers have to hurt him like this?
why you should read it: established relationship (duh). Focuses heavily on Peters relationship with the Avengers team. All of them are well written, feisty, and you can't help but laugh at the horrible situation Peter/Spidey finds himself in.
12. we're on a highway to hell (with a little bit of heaven) by dabblingwithwords [22/22, 107 K, POV peter] ***
summary: Hydra has had Peter in their custody for three years. Deadpool is hired to break him out. Throw in an alien symbiote, motels, and superhero explosions and things get gay.
why you should read it: strangers to friends to lovers. wonderfully written, with venom playing wingman, wade playing mother, and peter being exasperated. the plot is captivating and the tension is riveting, keeping you on your toes and holding your breath. watching wade and peters relationship grow is wonderful. Watching them fall in love is breathtaking. Every time I read this I feel short of breath and NO not cause of my asthma. couldn’t recommend this lovely thing more.
13. Wolves by Saucery [WIP, 53 K, POV peter]
summary: Peter is falsely accused and sent to jail, where he meets the violent ex-mercenary, Wade.
Or: Prison daddy Deadpool looks after his boy.
why you should read it: okay, okay, okay. The pining is *kisses fingers* superb. Despite what it sounds like, the fic doesn't dive immediately into “I'm horny let's DO this”, rather the relationship develops organically and the tension (both sexual and plot) is palpable. Watching Peter navigate his new life is like watching an intense game of chess, where he's going head to head against mob bosses, the system, and a new mysterious program that just might be too good to be true.

I honestly don’t care about not being able to romance Johnny Silverhand xD. I rather like the idea of my V becoming best buds with a hologram and having a wingman no one can see. Also, Mike Pondsmith did warn us that Johnny Silverhand will break our hearts and that dating him is not a good idea. Hell, he even forbade his daughter from ever wanting to date Johnny Silverhand.

Schitt's Creek: The Wingman (6x06)
This episode was a lot of fun, and very silly. There was also a more emotionally resonant aspect with Alexis's story-line, which I greatly enjoyed!
Cons:
I guess I thought Patrick and David's story-line was going to... go somewhere? Not necessarily like I thought they'd actually have a threesome, but I was thinking maybe the experience would prompt them to have a conversation about their relationship and their future. But no, it just sort of... ended with them awkwardly leaving and there was no payoff there.
I liked Johnny teaming up with Roland and Ronnie to try and cheer Bob up, but I can't help but notice that Johnny is the least involved in the rest of the family's story-lines. He's often off in his own little universe, and I'd like to see him interact more with his wife and kids in the near future!
Pros:
But like I said, Johnny's plot thread was a lot of fun. Bob is not doing well after Gwen left him, so he relies on his friends Johnny, Roland, and Ronnie to get him out of his slump. Predictably it doesn't go well, but Ronnie does end up finding a hot date! I just love any story that shows how much Johnny has truly grown into a part of this community. Not only is he in partnership with Roland, not only does he care about the town in a general sense... he's also willing to go the extra mile to cheer up Bob, which I think is really sweet!
Also the comedy here was on point. Roland is comically bad at role-playing a potential meeting with a girl, unable to come up with any name other than "Gwen" for his fake female persona. Bob runs in to his marriage counselor at the bar and learns that even she is dumping him, choosing Gwen to continue with, as seeing them both now would be a conflict of interest. Bob doesn't fit totally into the "sad sack" character mold, but he has aspects of that, and it's executed very well here!
Alexis and Moira have been able to turn the disaster at the Crows movie premiere into something of a success, as the movie is trending and getting all sorts of attention! The inherent comedy of every detail of the movie we get to learn about is really fun. I loved the way Alexis coached Moira during her interview, and how Alexis herself ended up on camera but without a mic! That was great.
Then there's the more serious aspect, which is that all of these events have been a big boon for Alexis's career, and she's not sure she can abandon all of that to go and join Ted on his trip. The two talk about it over Skype, and Ted actually says he thinks Alexis should stay home, too - he knows how much she'll hate it there, and he will be so often busy with work, anyway. I really root for these two, but I like the way they are each prioritizing their career at this stage in their lives, and how that's not seen as a heartless or insensitive thing to do. Hopefully they survive the long distance, but maybe they won't. And that's just the way it goes sometimes!
I liked that Moira wasn't too overly jealous that Alexis was being showered with praise. She actually supported her daughter and was proud of her success, and also talked her through her dilemma with regards to her planned trip to join Ted.
Then we've got David and Patrick. I mentioned I wanted something a bit more grounded out of this plot thread, but even by itself it was definitely a lot of fun and definitely made me giggle. Everything from the coffee table, to the kiss on the mouth, to Patrick's shirt, and their faces when they realized there was a whole party, and seeing Stevie... it all escalated to such a hilarious degree. Patrick was so flustered at being so blatantly hit on, and I loved that there was no hint of jealousy here with regards to David's ex.
I think I'll stop there! This episode didn't have much in the way of substantial character development for most of the core cast, but it was still a lot of fun, and we still got the lovely moments of growth for Alexis!
