Harry wakes up alone in Draco's bed, the red tinged light of the year's first sunrise falling through the windows. He pushes himself up, glancing towards the bathroom, but it's quiet and the lights are off. The place beside him is still warm, so he couldn't have gotten too far. He could just go back to bed, it's not like anything happened to Draco in his own house, but they've only been asleep for a couple hours at best and he wants to know where his soulmate has gotten to.

He slides on a pair of Draco's silk sleeping pants before leaving the room, creeping softly down the hallway. He almost calls Winky, who could tell him where Draco is immediately, but he knows the elves were all working extra hard to prepare for the New Year's party. His is first guess is the kitchens, and then maybe the library.

He doesn't even make it that far. Instead he sees Draco sitting a couple stairs from the bottom, leaning forward to look into the entryway.

"Draco," he starts, but Draco jerks back twists to look at him, eyes wide a hand to his lips.

Harry frowns but nods, silently descending the stairs to sit next to him. It helps that nothing in the Malfoy Manor creaks. Draco presses their knees together, absently reaching out to tangle their hands together. He mirrors Draco's position, peaking around the edge of the wall.

The curtains all open, letting the weak light pour into the room and lighting it up in shades of soft red and orange.

There's music coming from somewhere and in the middle of the room is Draco's parents. They've both discarded their overrobes and Lucius has folded the arms of his shirt back to his elbows.

They're dancing, but not touching, their blank arms held behind their backs and their soulmarks on display as their hands and forearms are raised and so close it almost looks like their dragons are twined together as they circle each other across the room. They move so easily together, not only like they know each move their partner is going to make, but as if they've done this a thousand times and are planning to do it a thousand more.

"This is my favorite part," Draco whispers, leaning his head on Harry's shoulder.

There's a shift to the music and Narcissa steps an inch closer, clasping hands with Lucius as he reaches out to grab her hand at the small of her back, pulling her almost flush against him, neither of them missing a single step or stumbling even with the bottom of Narcissa's dress in the way.

They never look away from one another.

Harry rests his head against Draco's. "Mine too."

wow what a fun ask.

okay i want to preface this by saying that i’m not really into poly ships, but im going to make an exception for this and try to be fair.

1. james/regulus/barty/evan: 5/10

i could this happening like one time as a fun anniversary gift for one of the couples, but i could never see the four of them in an actual relationship.

2. lily/barty/evan: 7/10

i like this to the extent that it is far superior to jegulily which is absolutely despise. i can see barty and evan as people who might have a looser definition of relationships and jealous than james or regulus so rosekiller with lily could be really fun. lily seems soft enough to dull some of their edges. plus the fanart is hot

3. narcissa/lily: 9/10

there is a lot of potential here, especially for angst purposes, but i think this ship would work best in like a bdsm fic/setting. like narcissa is older than lily and she’s definitely the most put together of all the malfoys so i could see her domming lily and i love that for them.

4. james/regulus/sirius/remus: 7/10

putting aside the incest for a second. i could see this happening like once or twice. however i think regulus and sirius are both extremely possessive and jealous people, remus and james too but not to the same extent, so i dont think they would like to share. however i think the possessiveness could be hot depending on how it’s used.

5. bellatrix/rita/mrs. zabini: 3/10

the thing about mrs. zabini is that i just don’t think she likes being tied down and i can’t see her enjoying it with two partners. i like quillkiller but mrs. zabini throws a wrench in things.

6. draco/dragon: 9/10

i have read all the fics with this tag, however i think charlie/dragon works better. but the best option imo is like draco/dragon animagus. so like a drarry fic where harry is a dragon animagus? that would be 10/10

7. james/barty: 3/10

i feel indifferent to this ship, but i don’t think it would work out. one of my closest friends irl is so barty core and i think a james person would piss her the fuck off, they would never work

8. lily/pandora/mary: 6/10

i think there is potential here for something soft and sweet but i would only read this ship if one of them was evil and out to hurt the other two.

9. mary/marlene/dorcas: 1/10

i just cannot see marlene with mary like at all. i actually don’t even think these two would be friends post hogwarts based on their personalities. i think they would seriously annoy each other

10. lucius/snape: 8/10

again so much angst potential. i’ve read this ship a few times, it used to pop a lot as a background ship so i would often see it, and i feel like it can work but there has to be discussions about power dynamics here for it to read well. i prefer snape with a non-magical oc personally

Hello, my name is DariaculasHoney, Honey Quill or any abbreviation or nickname variation thereof that you'd prefer.

I'm a non-practising intellectual and professionally delusional, aka. a passionate fanfiction writer who likes to hyper-fixate on their fictional crushes and comfort characters.

Disregarding my steadily growing list of characters I lose my heart to, the ones I write most about (or rather the only ones I've gotten around to not only fantasising but also writing about) are Lucius Malfoy, but first and foremost Professor Severus Snape.

As you might be able to guess from my description of myself as self-indulgent, I predominantly write AND read 'x reader' fanfics.

Hello, i have some thoughts.

So i’ve been searching for new HP ships to obsessed over for the last like, thirty minutes i’d say. Well more like about two weeks, since i read Pansy, Rows, and Mutual Wanking by hpwlwbb, kysprite, violetclarity on Ao3 and have realized i need more sapphic HP pairings in my life.

Now let me be clear, i’m aware that a strangely large portion of the HP fandom has a fascination of pairing canonically underage characters with adult characters that are their parents ages or older. I’m aware that it’s now new, we all have seen some form of it, most likely involving Hermione with characters like Sirius Black or Lucius Malfoy, who in canon are at least two or so decades her senior.

I’m aware of it and i hate it, you all can say “Maybe it’s in the future when she’s of age!” or “Maybe it’s an AU! where they are both of age” and you know what, that’s fine if that’s what you’re into, i like a good AU! as much as the next person so i don’t see a big problem with it.

However.

When i think about the canon, and i know in fandom, canon doesn’t really matter but in this context i think it does, it just makes me very uncomfortable thinking about Hermione Granger, a character who at the end of the series (if you ignore the epilogue) is about 18, getting it on with Lucius Malfoy, who according to the wiki, would be around 44 by the end of Deathly Hollows, and not to mention that Lucius’s son is the same age as Hermione.

Look i don’t care what people are into really, as long as you’re not bothering or harassing other people you can do whatever you want i guess, but shipping minors, even fictional ones, with adults, even if in your fic or fanart or whatever they are of age, is still weird and gross, and i’m not changing my mind on that.

Anyways! This all was a long version of me saying that there’s a weird amount of fics and fanart of Hermione with characters like Bella Lestrange (not even gonna try and spell her name) or Narcissa Malfoy under the femslash tag and it’s not my cup of tea thank you very much.

Hermione is the usual victim of all those pairings which is weird in general and also in canon cause most of the older characters i named are blood-purists and hate her for the basic reason that she’s alive.

So yeah, that’s kind of it. If anyone wanted to know my opinions on this, well here it is i guess. I wanna find some fic rec blogs with wlw pairings so if anyone knows of any please send them my way if you could. If you need a new fic rec blog id recommend @potter-loves-malfoy they have a very organized master list with some really good fics in there so check them out! “My dear boy. Of course I *mean,* we don’t do the violence at *all.* We have ceased any and all nefariousness. The Ministry has me firmly under its thumb.”

He watched me follow that circuitous mental path. I wondered if it was all just for shock value, or—

“I’m surprised your parents let you spend so much time here,” he went on, walking the length of the table, drawing his fingers along the polished wood.

“Oh, my father said it was okay to visit.”

He lifted his hand and examined the fingertips for dust. “That’s because your father believes I’ve been chastised, corrected, emasculated…”

I wasn’t entirely sure what he meant, but if my father believed it, then, “I don’t think you’re any of those things, sir.”

He took a long, slow breath through his smile. “You are too kind, child.”
