dont normally post about drama but this seems relevant:
im seeing a lot of people jump to "james somerton was never good anyways" in retaliation for the hbomb expose, but there's a really fine line to tread there before you get into stepping on the toes of the people he stole from, you know?
some of his videos and analysis did seem genuinely intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, and well-written. yeah, it turns out those are the result of him stealing from other people. but that doesnt mean the original writers WEREN'T intelligent, thoughtful, insightful and good writers. he had plenty of garbage opinions interspersed throughout, but the reason many people (myself included) were suckered in by him is that the queer creators he stole from DID have really important and interesting analysis. the parts of his videos that were good were stolen, but by discounting his essays entirely we're throwing the baby out with the bathwater and insisting those he stole from didn't have anything important to say.
the parts he himself supplied were trash, but he stole the work of some genuinely brilliant and insightful writers and passed it off as his own- and that writing still exists and is still brilliant and insightful; we just know now who was actually responsible for it and who to thank for that work
lets just be careful when we smugly proclaim that we always hated everything he had to say- because a lot of the words we're discounting were never his to begin with, and the last thing those authors need is to have their work trash talked because it ended up in the mouth of someone dishonest

Shinsou: I hate all those things that were like, “they used to be so strong and funny…. ThEn [insert trauma here], now they are a shell of what they once were”
Shinsou: I can be traumatized and still be strong and funny. I’m the funniest fucker I know
Tsuyu: yesterday you said that you wanted to enter a coma so you didn’t have to deal with an authority figure being mad at you again
Shinsou: both can be true, am I not allowed to have duality, tsuyu??

btw i will forever recommend just. refusing to engage in discourse. its free its easy and you literally arent missing anything LMAO - 99% of discourse on here is just on the most pointless petty shit that literally doesnt mean a single thing to anyone in real life (i am looking directly at you "pRo/AnTi" shippers), and the other 1% is genuinely important shit... that isnt going to be solved in any productive way by insulting '''the other side''' online. arguing with strangers online never changes anyones mind all youre doing is making yourself *and* your cause look annoying as hell  maybe chill out. find a hobby.

Nothing like the leaders of an elite army battalion raiding a kitchen like newborn dear cause none of them know how to actually cook.
In case it wasn't obvious I had stupid amounts of fun drawing this one. It was meant to be a silly warm up sketch but hahaha cut to a few hours later and I put my whole ass into drawing these dorks.

one of my favorite things about bradley is that while he so desperately wants to be like his father— enough so that he spends so much of his life trying to emulate him through style, music, profession, etc.— narratively he really is more like maverick. maybe not in the exact way that he flies, because we all know maverick is notoriously a daredevil while bradley is decidedly not, but even that has its own parallels with how ice and jake upon introduction immediately point out the flaws in their piloting styles (i heard that about you. you like to work alone. / that’s just you, ain’t it? waiting for just the right moment that never comes.). their methods are different, but both on the ground and up in the air, the two of them are always competing with a ghost. fathers that they can barely remember, whose legacies one way or another made it difficult for them to make it where they are in their careers— even though their fathers are such major motivators for why they chose aviation in the first place. they both have spent a lot of their lives on their own because of that and when it comes down to the final mission for each of their movies, they’re both shown being doubted as the right fit— once again by ice and jake (it’s nothing personal…but with regard to maverick…is he the best pick? / he’s not cut out for this mission. you know i’m right.). at the end of the day they manage to pull it off, but they have to overcome the obstacles that have plagued them for a majority of the movie. it’s not just the obvious scene callbacks that tether them as characters, it’s who they are at their core.

Behold! This absolutely incredible drawing of me as a Pokemon gym leader, drawn by my wonderful and incredibly talented friend Fen @salt-and-bramble 💙💙💙
I love it so much as a work of art and as a drawing of me and I'm using it as my profile picture everywhere now.
Fen did a wonderful job of - capturing lots of details that match up with things I actually wear (the heart gems I put on my forehead, my favorite top with the boob window, the galaxy print on my favorite dresses, the color of the glowy wheels on my skates), while also adding so many delightful little things that spark so much delight in my soul (the heart-shaped pupils, a much fancier design on my gloves than I currently have, the poi-pokeballs, a lil bit of embellishment on the cleavage) and. the hair.
Gods, the hair. Y'all have to understand - I've legit never seen a picture or depiction of my hair I've loved anywhere close to how much I love this. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my hair over my life, and despite historically really hating it, lately I've been figuring out ways to get it in a state where I can appreciate it myself, which has been a slow and strange process. But when I first saw this drawing, I felt like I understood for the first time what people are seeing, when they look at my hair and tell me it's beautiful. (When I told Fen this, they said I have the curls of the ocean... ;-; this has stuck in my head, and I think of it when I look at my avatar or my hair.) And the action lines in the rest of the piece really enhance the wave vibes...
it's just so perfect ;-;

This is me calling Law out.
He is purposefully making his moves look sexy as possible, and that's the kind of bullshit we need to be calling out.

HI! I saw that your requests are open, teehee. I love your art, it's precious. Could you please draw Nerv and Ophie? I always felt like they would have a very close sibling-like relationship and would bond over punk bands, lol.
Of course I can! I see them that way too, I explained their relationship in my past posts. Mostly back when Nerv was living with Willow and Creon(My little personal head canon 👉👈), and Nerv was like a big brother to Ophelia up until he went missing. So here's a doodle of them in the '90s
I think that Nerv always had a habit of lying. Even as a kid. When it came to Ophie, it was very hard for him to. He could've just said he fell down the stairs and that's how he got bruised up, but he had a hard time lying to her.
Also I'd totally see them discussing punk bands now, while they try and make up for lost time. They would totally go to a concert together in the future, and rock out💀💥

also the 'fans of 13 are bitchy and mean' thing is really funny bc i knew Lots of 13 fans on the internet who were nice and kind and charitable to people being aggressive towards them by answering them calmly and logically when they weren't approached as such, who dealt with the stupid takes clearly rooted in prejudice calmly and firmly with an aim to teach out of a belief that people were accidentally pedalling this stuff and not being deliberately malicious and trying to help, but people who hate it were so cruel, and so obsessive about not letting people live and like in peace to the point of harassing them, that it drove the nice ones off, either gone totally or to other fandoms because it wasn't worth putting up with it over a stupid kids tv show. So you were left with the stubborn and pissed off ones who aren't inclined to be chased off, and the same people have the gall to act confused as to why people aren't nice.
The level of shit and bullshit over the years i've gotten and/or seen over a stupid kids tv show you'd think i enjoyed the recreational era of kitten skinning and the stories i get from people who use twitter are at least twice as bad. Add the people who think dressing up rude sentiments or demands in polite language makes them any less rude (it doesn't) and it's just a nightmare.
Shockingly, while a hostile environment will not necessarily Produce hostility, it will ward the nice ones off. And it will also produce hostility. That too.
