You were always a fan of alexs work, the way he drove that knife so smoothly into their skin, the way he would always hide from the police, the way he was so sneaky, all of it. You couldn’t help but be amazed.

You were in your tiny shared kitchen scrubbing the shit out of his killing knife, running your fingers across the sharp blade. You couldnt help but feel the heat arise to your cheeks, and your legs.

Alex would come out the bathroom, his hair wet, his normal blue eyes still chased with thrill from his last hunt, his toned muscle and skin mesmerising in this state. You couldnt help the words to come flying out your mouth

“Alex, darling?” you would ask with shaky moist hands “i-i your work, can you” fuck how do i say this “can you chase me tonight, knife and all” you would splutter out not thinking about what you were saying.

Alex would freeze right in his tracks looking at you like you were crazy but also, in awe?

“Dove, do you really want me to?” he would move closer to your, grabbing your waist with his worked out hands, his breath hot against your neck. You would quickly nod your head hoping he would get the message, luckily he did.

“alright sweetheart get ready, and we’ll meet at the park” he would whisper in your ear seductively grabbing his knife as tracing it on the kitchen counter before leaving.

You were hiding behind a tree trying to get best out of view, holy shit this was scary but fucking hell how much this turned you on. You could hear his footsteps coming closer and closer his heavy boots thumbing, you had to cover your mouth with your hands to shush your breathing

As it was norma instinct, the adrenaline would rush in causing you to jump out of ur position and run, sprint. The cold brisk air with your heavy panting was eutrophic. Having your loving, dangerous boyfriend chase after you like he did his victims. He was right behind your arse. One small wrong move and you were done. It was muddy and bumpy a easy way to fuck up, it was dark also so thats even worse. You would turn your head to see how far he was, he was life 3ft away. fuckfuckfuckfuck

Suddenly a large chopped down tree stump was in your way while u were distracted causing you to trip over and leaving a deep graze your knee, a trickle off blood running down your knee, you would turn around to find Alex right behind you. His knife right against your neck. The cold metal digging slightly into your skin, his spare hand cupping both your cheeks squeezing tightly. His tounge swiftly licking the blood from your neck.

I feel like 'Stay Soft' suits Yousano so much. First of all, Yousano went through so much in her life. Yet, she is a tough and strong female character. But she is also soft inside. Second, this an ISTP song. And guess what MBTI Yousano has? That right ISTP.

YESYES i agree!!! the other song I associate very heavily with her is Bag of Bones, but Stay Soft is veeerrryyyy Yosano coded it was the second song i had on my list for her.

Especially the chorus:

I think this shows her experience in the war very well and the way that the repitition and forced exposure forced her to close herself off at a very early age. It reminds me of the way she slowly looses hope while under Mori, starting as a starry eyes little girl who wants to help and ending up basically snapping and never wanting to use her ability again. Its why we never really see her as very emotive/empathetic in the series - shes learned against being like that to save herself the pain of losing someone like how she felt for Tachiharas brother, its a defense against loss and pain. The first time we ever really show much emotion/rage truly is w her confrontation with Mori. Before that point she was always very stoic.

I think this song reflects her really well as you said its in line w her personality type, and imo the first verse really reflects the objectification she went through, only being valued for her ability and not much else beyond that.

"It glints in your eye It's why I've arrived, your sex god Here to take you where You need to go"

In the song mitski basically expresses how shes only there for others gratification and not her own, and i think in Yosano's context this matches with how she feels abt Thou Shall Not Die - thats the piece of her Mori wanted, he didnt care about her beyond that and thats something she takes to heart because it becomes her core identity until she meets ranpo and he tells her she can be more. Even past that i feel like she'd still feel that way somewhat because views like that dont leave easily. Plus how she was viewed as an angel vs mitskis "god" is very much a comparison i love, being put on a pedestal you dont think you deserve + the pressure to deliver always and the subsequent feeling of failure once you cant is veeery applicable to her character, both in her backstory at Tachiharas brothers death and in the present because its clear she feels a pressure to save the agency and keep them all alive no matter what even though its not neccesarily her responsibility to do that for people anymore.

His fingers crawled their way to the sheets tugging them tightly as he tried to get on their bed, but in return Miles smashed their foot in retaliation, Randy gasping as he stumbled backwards as they bolted from the bed and into the lounge room.

"miless, sweety? why did you do that?" Randy cooed, stumbling to his feet as stomped his way to Miles, Miles held a knife close to their chest, phone in the other hand.

"GET AWAY. NOW" Miles snapped.

"honey, why?" Randy softly called, resting his palms on his face.

"I don't have to explain, shit to you. Do you understand? You crazed weird freak! I have a new Gun-headed cop friend on speed dial and I will call her!" Miles screamed as loud as they could, stomping, maybe they could alert their neighbours.

"Honey, sweety, please, I took so long to find you, and this is how you treat me?" He fake whimpered, trying to move closer.

He reeked of old blood, his clothes even had the iconic flies swarming him, his screen was greasy with blood hand prints. He back was hunched and his legs shook as if he was trying to keep himself up from falling over.

"Get the fuck away from me." From behind their back, they pressed the call button, thanking the stars above that their phone was quiet.

Randy frowned trying to wobble his way forward, on the other end, Clair quietly listened to the now named "Randy" she was told about from Miles, listening to his insane please and cries. She got off her chair as it swivelled as she moved, racing to her, under cover cop car and drove straight their making to sure to keep the phone on speaker.

-so this is a dream come true for her! she has no fear and is all ears… after she talks the farmer’s ear off about it. and honestly how could the farmer have kept it from her for so long?? she’s got her own theories about the wizard and his tower… what other otherworldly stuff is skirting by under her nose??

emily:

-like abigail, delighted!! not at the same level, but!! girl loves crystals and meditation, she’s thrilled! not one to disbelieve in that kind of stuff!

-she’s interested in it generally, but isn't extreme like abigail or more aloof to it like haley!! it’ll definitely fuel some late night conversation topics and make her kinda rethink a lot!! maybe the energies she’s been feeling this whole time HAVE been something unlike what haley’s been telling her!!

-she’ll def poke some fun here and there and ask the farmer to use some magic to help her get out of work!! but overall.. v supportive and interested, but will absolutely not badger the farmer about it. she’s always had a little feeling something was going on anyway...

haley:

-i don’t think she even knows how to respond at first. let her blink a couple times, let her put her head in her hands, the whole ten miles. this was not the conclusion she thought she was ever going to get to once she passed the age of twelve

-but nonetheless it is compelling… despite the uncertainty she has with it at first. she is definitely the one eyebrow raised emoji for a little bit. “what is this and is it going to kill us” type beat. 

-but she just needs to warm up to it!! def she wouldn’t be like abigail where it becomes something she’s infatuated with but hey if it makes daily life easier!! why not? 

leah:

-at first she’s laughing thinking its a joke!! but with some demonstration… oh! not a joke. she’s kinda like ok!! and understanding of it… but its not a 100% surprise to her. 

-it definitely explains the little things she sees out of the corner of her eyes in the forest. she’s had her own little encounters that she couldn’t possibly understand or explain with what she knows but this is definitely!! comforting to know

-it won’t be a huge impact on her life, but it’s still fun to see the farmer do their thing!! she never gets over how cool it is, but is definitely more mature about it lmao!! just a little addition to the valley she loves so much!! she starts chalking stuff up to fate and magic instead of personal choice

maru:

-her first thought is ??? she’s v logical and super rooted in science so something like magic is a little off to her at first but (a) why would the farmer lie to her (she’s so trusting mwah!!) and (b) all it takes is a little demonstration and !!

-she’s in AWE!! how?? why?? where/when/what/etc!! does it hurt, where did it come from… it’s like the farmer is on trial, questioned by the police, a scientific convention panel. how does this work exactly!! maru had never considered it being a possibility, so she needs allllll of the details!

-but truly?? psyched. i think she’s a big fantasy nerd on top of sci-fi sort of stuff, so!! she’s pumped to see how it works and what the farmer can do with it (and ofc how it could possibly help her get some work done in different ways!! leave it to her to problem solve!!)

penny:

-expect some… fear… skittish-ness… that all to do with it. like maru, not something she really thought about happening and being faced with. it makes her a little nervous until she understands more about it… kinda going along the haley route of “is this going to hurt me/you/us/anyone”

-but once she warms up to it… mmm fairytale stuff!! ofc as a kid she believed in that kind of stuff but like others.. squashed when growing up. but now?? omg its like being cinderella or smth!! when she had to face reality she found herself liking fantasy books w magic in them and now!! it’s not something that’s escapism!!

-i don’t think she’d like to be faced with it very often since it still may be a little overwhelming but!! it’s still soooo dreamlike for her. i think little surprises with it would make her heart warm!! whatever the farmer’s magic may be!! it’ll likely charm her w/ soft little displays
