I was thinking about something, Anthony got the chance to do a ROYAL MESS and quite much got away with it bc there wasn't real consecuenses for his actions, I mean, if he can do that, are the stakes for Benophie no longer that big? if the queen is gonna forvige anything you do no matter how big and scandalous then what would stop them?
to see my thoughts on the Kanthony comment anon, see my previous post.
I'd like to like to point out that Netflix isn't known for staying faithful to the source material anyway, so they can make up as many stakes as they want for the Benophie season. It's what they did for the Kanthony season and what I fully expect them to do for the Polin season. As in, dramatize as much as possible the consequences of them being together as an excuse for having the couple share very little screen time.
Maybe this time, instead of Sophie just being illegitimate and a maid, the show will dramatize Araminta's accusation of Theving as big as possible. So now, the problem isn't that Benedict is marrying a commoner, it's that he's contemplating marrying a thief running from *puts on reading glasses* Araminta and the queen?
Maybe Sophie stole something from the queen. Yeah. that would raise the stakes.
But don't worry, even if she's illegitimate, or a commoner, or a thief, or murdered Cavander on her way out. We can always count on Queen C handing out royal pardons like they're nothing. But only after the couple suffers quite a lot for the viewers entertainment and pleasure.
Who knows, maybe for the Benophie season, it will be the king handing out the royal pardon in one of his moments of lucidity. Maybe she's discovered to be the illegitimate child of one of his beloved female relatives who disappeared for some mysterious reason. And Ben and Sophie can now live happily ever after with cero consequences for their shenanigans.
Lets admit it, we all want our main characters to be happy no matter into how much trouble they get. I don't see the problem with having the queen as basically a magic fairy that waves away everything bad at the end of the season. I try not to think about it too much because I understand that Bridgerton only has so much ammount of screentime to resolve a plotline before a small plot hole becomes a storyline error.
If my favorite characters actually suffered consequences, then Bridgerton would be *shudders* realistic...
Which is something nobody wants to see in the show where women wear plastic tiaras and 21st century makeup to a regency ball.
Does it bother me a little bit that Eloise could rock up to a neighborhood even her servants were afrid of, wearing her gucci best without consequences? yes it does. But that situation also bothers me in the Titanic, where rose and jack dance among the commoners without a care of the fact that Rose wealthy outfit is attracting stares. That doesn't make me enjoy the Titanic any less.
Does it bother me that Thomas got away with ruining Hanna and Colin's wedding at the last minute when he declared his love for Hanna in Made of Honor? Well, yes, a little bit, if the movie had been made for realistic purposes, Thomas would have paid Colin and his family all they invested in that wedding that never was. I mean, come on, if the guy spoke up sooner Colin and Hanna could have gotten the venue deposit back (were venue deposits still a thing in 2008?). That doesn't mean I don't enjoy and laugh at Patric Dempsey every single time he tries to pull off some mad scheme to get Hanna's attention.
That sentiment also applies to Edwina and Anthony's wedding. And I really hope that off camera Anthony offered to pay the queen back all she invested in the cake, the venue, the caterers and the music. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the fact that Kate and Anthony got away with things scot free, since I as the viewer want to see the happy ending anyway, even if the plot device used to get the happy ending is flimsy and poorly executed, as it was with Queen Charlotte's royal 'they can do whatever they want because they are inlove' decree.
If I wanted realism I would be watching the news. Now bring back the days where Marvel Superheroes didn't die please. I miss black widow. Not every screenwriter needs to be George RR I-kill-you-faves-for-shock-value Martin (JK, we love you GRRM, please finish Winds of WInter)
My point is, don't let stuff like that ruin your enjoyment of a show that's perfectly good on its own. Bad writing and all, Bridgerton is fun to watch.
And that's the tea

Okay we’re all making jokes about Daemon’s little Oedipal episode but I do think it is a really good way to show just how the Targ incest-superiority-exceptionalism fucks everyone in this family up. You get taught literally from birth to find romantic and sexual intimacy in your familial relationships.
You’re Daemon. You’re a son so you ought to marry your sister. But you have no sister, only an older brother who REALLY ought to have a sister to marry. And this is how things must be. Your parents are brother and sister, THEIR parents are brother and sister. It must be brother and sister but you have no sister. Do you become the sister then? But you can’t, because that’s wrong too. You are a son, you must be a son and act as a son. And you should love your brother as only a brother. And this is how things must be. But how can you when you’ve been taught not to? How can you when you know if you had been a girl, you wouldn’t be allowed to just see him as a brother. He is your brother. You should have been his wife. But you never can be. And this is how things must be. You never knew your mother. But she is a woman and she is related to you. And haven’t you always been taught exactly what that means in this family? You’ve crossed so many boundaries but now suddenly there is a line. You don’t think you really want her in this way. But you never knew her and you don’t know how else to show love in this family. You don’t know how to love her as family in a life where family means lover. Except when it doesn’t. And gods forbid you cross that line and desire your family in a way that is suddenly wrong. This is how things must be.

Criston Cole is a knight of common birth in a medieval, feudalist world who rose to the highest position a knight could hold in the realm, who was pressured into sex with the member of the royal family directly responsible for his position as Kingsguard, resulting in him almost ending his life out of guilt for breaking his vow.
Alicent Hightower is a grown up child bride to an older king who was forced to perform her duties no matter the hour, who visibly disassociated during the act, who never had the luxury of thinking of her own desires at any point in her life, who birthed and raised her babies while still a child herself.
I would ask this show to explore how these two individuals overcame their sexual trauma and ingrained beliefs about duty and sex to start an extremely active sexual relationship but I know deep down that this is as far as the writers want to go with these characters in relation to this pairing:

[Discord Curse AU]
This is not an infection au per se, but, it follows similar guidelines so I'm going to tag it as such. Differences are; minimized gore, existing-story relevancy, & the end result is not death.

Enantiodromia
Unable to resolve their missing Elements problem, the Mane 6 went home from the Discord Labyrinth to figure out how to continue life in Ponyville - which was fully intact, albeit still a little strange. It still rained chocolate now & then. There were extra laws to physics that broke themselves daily.
Discord's true curse, at first, was unnoticeable.
Cagey guarding of one special item from Rarity ['She gets tense at work, it's understandable.'], forgotten plans from Rainbow Dash ['She's so active, everyone forgets things, right?']. Occasionally, a fib would slip out of Applejack, but she'd shake her head, correct herself, & say it was a mistake.
Even the physical changes went mostly unnoticed ; to ponies who saw each other every day, they weren't significant enough in their gradual takeover to raise suspicion.
Nobody thought much of it until Pinkie Pie missed a pony's birthday ['She's been hiding herself away a lot lately, I wonder why?'] & one of Twilight's teleport spells failed. Not to mention the . . . unicorn horn? growing from Applejack.
Fluttershy was the first to go missing.
['I hope she's safe.' - The Lost Spark]

Ugh there's a band that plays lots of shows in my town and they have "schizo" in their band name. Nothing on any of their bios says any members are schizo-spec, or talks about the meaning behind the name at all, but they do describe themselves as "wild" and "insane". It's just so annoying honestly. I'm always checking my favorite local venue's upcoming shows and whenever I see that band name I just roll my eyes. It would be different if they used their platform to spread awareness about schizo-spec disorders, but it seems like they just use "schizo" to seem weird and crazy which is just so disappointing to see over and over again.
