DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE Vol.3 Orange
Translation: Upcoming, and as always by courtesy of my buddy @otomehonyaku! Links will be added as soon as they are available ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡
Audio: Here (CD owned by me). Please do not reupload anywhere.
Starring: Ruki Mukami (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), Shin Tsukinami (CV: Shōtarō Morikubo), Ayato Sakamaki (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa), Kanato Sakamaki (CV: Yuki Kaji)
Plot: After being held captive first in the Scarlet mansion and then the Violet mansion, "Eve" has managed escape into the forest, where she encounters Shin, a member of the Orange family. Desperate to get away from her captors and the purported dangers of the forest, "Eve" asks him if he knows of a safe place she can go to. Shin offers to hide her in the Orange mansion, and "Eve" accepts, following him to his home. There, she soon meets his brothers: Ayato, Kanato, and finally Ruki, the eldest and head of the family. It quickly becomes apparent that Shin lied about the mansion being a safe place for the poor girl, who has now, if not precisely jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, at the very least entered an equally perilous situation as the ones she's just escaped from...
Word to the wise: Use headphones. The noises these guys make as they suck Yui's blood can at times get a bit...intense.
My Thoughts: Aside from being slightly surprised that Shin got more lines and focus than his "brothers" (he's the only one that appears in every track), this CD gave me more or less what I anticipated: Ayato and Kanato being disruptive and rebellious; Shin telling them to "obey Nii-san"; Ruki effortlessly seducing both Yui and me; and, of course, plenty of bloodsucking.
I found the interactions between the Orange "siblings" pretty entertaining. Kanato fighting Ayato off with a bottle of shampoo, of all things, was not something I ever expected from this kind of Drama CD XD. I do feel sorry for Ruki, though – the amount of property damage the others must cause on a daily basis must be a headache to deal with. The fact that these boys feel the need to kick in locked doors rather than, y'know, teleport through them says a lot about their needlessly destructive tendencies. Gotta make a dramatic entrance I suppose? lol.
Getting back to Ruki (my favorite thing to do, tbh), I thoroughly enjoyed his portions of the CD. The scenes where he and Yui interact definitely did not disappoint ⁄(⁄ ⁄ ⁄ω⁄ ⁄ ⁄)⁄. I really appreciate the writers for saving the best Ruki's bloodsucking scene for last; his voice and the sounds he makes when he sucks blood always have me _(´ཀ`」 ∠)_.

----
The crowd of the market district envelops them as they flee the amlakkar checkpoint and disappear into the city.
Rasaad takes the lead, sure-footed on the roughened sandstone street. In the distance, they can hear shouts as the amlakkar begin to call out, alerting each other to the fugitive menace loosed into Calimport. They are quick, the lawkeepers of this city - quick and cold, more so than Jaheira remembers. Luckily, though, they have entered the city at one of its most populous, chaotic areas.
She has been here before. "The Khanduq Ward," Khalid explained on their last visit, his light, clipped tone barely audible under the chaos around them. Here on his home ground, his voice held only the slightest hint of his usual stammer. "Khanduq is m-m-'market', in Alzhedo. The city's b-beating heart."
Leading them away from the gate, Rasaad plunges without hesitation into the tremendous, swirling crowd. The khanduq is no grid of ordered city streets but instead an enormous open bazaar, lined in all directions with shops and stalls draped in colorful cloth. Cheerful shouting voices split the air, calling greetings, sales pitches, offers and demands of coin. A few figures on horseback or camelback, loaded down with goods in sacks and saddlebags, pick their way carefully among the hundreds of pedestrians, freely mixing Alzhedo profanity in with the general tumult. The smell is an indescribable combination of spices, cooking meat, and sweat, which might be more appealing were it not punctuated with a liberal note of animal dung.
It’s enough to make Jaheira's head spin. At the best of times, she is most comfortable in the wilderness, and has only with difficulty tolerated the crowded streets of Amn and Baldur's Gate. This wall of noise and color is overwhelming beyond anything she has seen in either city; it is pandemonium. She feels constantly on the edge of slamming into someone or clipping the edge of a stall, toppling it over and sending the whole house of cards crashing to pieces.
Rasaad, though, moves like lightning. She has never seen him like this before, dodging through the crowd with practiced, agile steps. His boots scuff adroitly into the dusty streets, pivoting him in rapid turns, finding and opening barely-visible pathways through the ever-shifting mass of people. It is all she can do to keep pace with him, and she finds herself fascinated, watching the ripple of quick-moving muscle under his tunic as he darts side to side.
For a moment she can see a hint of the boy she has never met, the boy he once was. This is Rasaad as he was before the Sun Soul - the street rat in the Calishite shadows, native to the desert heat. He still carries a lurking piece of that boy inside him, and that boy remembers these crowded streets and noisy stalls, slipping naturally back into the maelstrom.
Would I walk so easily in Tethyr? she wonders.
"This way!" Rasaad hisses sharply, wresting her from her thoughts. Grabbing her sleeve, he tugs her down a side alley and glances behind them to see that the others are following. "Take care where you step."

You're the Inspiration - Chapter 14
Whatever overwhelmed her only took a bit of bedrest to be rid of it and back on her feet. Much to her dismay, however, the king forbade her from ever returning to the courtyard.
“You’re limiting my places to go,” she remembered telling him.
“If you can prevent yourself from going to the graveyard, fine. But I do not need a repeat of what just happened.”
She remembered the melancholy in his words when he spoke such a thing. Knowing it had to do with Gwenevere, she refrained from fighting him on the matter.
Alone with her thoughts for a minute, a boo phased through the wall of her bedroom to greet her. “Hellooo, human! I am JamBoolaya, here to escort you to the King.” They floated closer to her, smiling in a way to try and ease the tension in the room. “I usually work for Boodles, but the King called on me specifically for this.”
A part of her wanted to say she could have guessed that first part, what would the food name, but she merely gave a halfhearted smile at their greeting. “It is a pleasure. I am—.”
“No need! No need!” they expressed, wiggling their arms in the air. “Everybody here knows who you are.”
Moving her lips inward, she nodded with a raise of her brow. “Mm, yeah. I tend to forget that part.” It was still hard to believe as so many boos were under King Boo’s control.
JamBoolaya excitedly hopped about in the air, heading over towards the door to go right through it, encouraging her to follow behind him. “Sooo how are things going with you two?”
It was such an awkward thing to ask. Miserably was the first word that came to mind, but she paused on offering it. “I don't know, really.”
The boo playfully spun around in mid-air, making a confused whistle of a noise. “Mm? You don't know?”
