but okay everytime i hc with @morganacorp about superrojas (bc im forcing her against her will & she has no choice but to listen to my endless rants about superrojas) we always end up including lena in it bc why not them being so petty fighting over kara is what i live for LIKE IMAGINE lena just wants her bestfriend back and wants to spend time with her but kara is somehow always in andrea’s lap (figuratively i think) bc in love girlfriends and at first they f8 for her time now they start being petty and buy the shares of kara’s favorite snacks and maybe andrea also buys the shares and some of kara’s favorite restaurants and kara is so confused finding out the andrea now co-owns big belly burger bc andrea doesn’t even like burgers and the list goes own and gets more petty

i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping

in my opinion it’s almost never the outfits themselves that are the problem in recent tv/film. it’s the fact that it all looks unworn. there’s no wear. there’s no tear. there’s no signs that it truly belonged to a character. in some cases, that’s fine. but with warriors? travelers? the first example that comes to mind is how supernatural went from sam and dean driving across america living out of duffel bags wearing distressed heavily used workwear to…whatever this is…….. looking like every outfit is Brand New

In 2017, American film researchers recovered “Something Good – Negro Kiss,” a short film depicting a playful kiss between a Black couple which had not seen the light of day for more than a century. A long-forgotten artifact from the earliest years of American film, the sweet, humanizing vignette, produced by the Selig Polyscope Company, makes a startling contrast to the overwhelmingly racist and blackface-ridden contempory portrayals of African Americans. Four years later in 2021, archivists in Norway, halfway across the world, identified a sister short in their collections—an extended alternate cut which reveals more of Chicago stage performers Gertie Brown and Saint Suttle’s vaudeville-like routine, a theatrical, hot-and-cold romantic dynamic between two lovers which parodies the popular and controversial short “The Kiss” (1896). Both films, which had previously been lost, were known from entries in old motion picture catalogs but had been assumed to be era-typical, anti-Black “race films” until their rediscovery in the 21st century. Together with its more famous sibling, which has since been inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, this alternate version of “Something Good” represents the first-known instance of Black intimacy ever captured on-screen.

i strongly believe that it's better to take aspirin of a known dosage than to take some willow bark with an unknown amount of active compound that could also just be sawdust from an unrelated tree. like that's just factually correct. medical science is real and the supplement industry is an unregulated nightmare of mostly scams. but. the thing is. if, in order to get aspirin, i had to schedule an appointment where i tell my doctor that my friend said i might have a headache (because i can't just say i have a headache without being treated like a googlemad hypochondriac). and then the doctor nodded and ordered a bunch of expensive tests that have very little to do with my head and a lot to do with the size of my ass. and the tests all came back fine so he shrugged and asked if my head hurt and when i said yes he prescribed me some aspirin while emphasizing he didn't know if it would help but i could give it a shot if i really wanted. and if i had to do that every time i wanted some aspirin. i would probably start eyeballing the willow bark. to be perfectly honest with you.
